Power Rangers Saurus Squad
In universe 191393 a familiar story plays out once more. However this time the story doesnât quite go the same way... 10,000 years ago the Earth was the stage of a grand battle between good and evil. The wise and noble sage Zoltar of Eldon along with his robotic partner Alpha 4 waged battle against the evil space witch Rita Repulsa and her monstrous minions. Ritaâs forces include the warrior Silverback who believes might makes right, master sculptor Finster who creates Ritaâs monsters from enchanted clay, the cunning Scorpina a master of disguise, and the wise but cowardly potion maker Mordant. Zoltar and Alpha 4 discovered a set of Power Crystals containing the power of ancient beasts known as dinosaurs. Only six of the crystals were strong enough to be forged into Power Coins to be used to empower warriors creating Power Rangers. However during a battle Silverback stole one of the coins and three of the crystals.
During the final battle both Zoltar and Rita were sealed away with Zoltarâs prison being a time warp and Ritaâs prison being a Space Bin on the moon. Alpha 4 was able to establish contact with Zoltar allowing him to observe events and prepare for Ritaâs return.
Many millennia later, in the year 2003 an astronaut unwittingly releases Rita and her forces. Zoltar selects five teenagers from the nearby town of Saintâs Grove to combat her forces as the Power Rangers Saurus Squad!
Red Saurus Ranger- Jason Lee Scott- Jason is strong and as mighty as a Tyrannosaurus and was selected by Zoltar to be the leader of the team, a responsibility he takes very seriously. He is armed with the Saurus Sword Blue Saurus Ranger- Kimberly Ann Hart- Graceful and elegant like the high flying Pterodactyl Kimberly took some time to adjust to combat but she puts all her heart into protecting others. She is armed with the Saurus Bow Yellow Saurus Ranger- Trini Kwan- Sturdy and like a Stegosaurus always ready to defend herself and others Trini is ready to step up as a Ranger to help others. She is armed with the Saurus Axes Black Saurus Ranger- Zack Taylor- Like a Brachiosaurus Zack is strong yet peaceful, he prefers to diffuse tense situations with humor rather than allow things to escalate to violence. He is armed with the Saurus Clubs Green Saurus Ranger- Billy Cranston- Billy is incredibly intelligent for his age and loves to invent helpful gadgets in his down time, like a Triceratops he will defend himself from danger. He is armed with the Saurus Lance The Rangers combine their weapons to form the Saurus Cannon Axes combine to form the handle and main barrel Bow lays on top of Axes with the Clubs and split Lance as barrels attached Sword lays on top Zoltar- A warrior mage whose deeds are legend throughout the cosmos. While defending the Earth he was trapped within a time warp and now considers the Earth his home rather than his prison. Alpha 4- A kindly robot who serves as Zoltarâs assistant and companion. By default he must act as Zoltarâs hands and is always ready to offer the Rangers advice with his cry of âHey-Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey!â Saurus Zords
Each Ranger has a Saurus Zord that answers their call. When the time comes the five zords combine into the Saurus Megazord
The Saurus Megazord stands tall like a metallic titan ready to defend the people of Saintâs Grove Red Tyrannosaurus- Torso and head Blue Pterodactyl- Chest plate Black Brachiosaurus- Arms Yellow Stegosaurus and Green Triceratops- Legs
After a few weeks Rita begins to take the Rangers seriously as a threat and has Finster create stronger monsters. In response Zoltar gives the Rangers two of the last Power Crystals in his possession allowing them to summon the Orange Pachycephalosaurus Zord and the Cyan Parasaurolphus Zord.
Orange Pachycephalosaurus- Armed with blasters and topped with a super hard dome for power blows Cyan Parasaurolophus- Armed with sonic cannons When called the two zords can combine with the Saurus Megazord to give it Pachy and Para power.
After a few months of her monsterâs failing against the Rangers, Rita tries a different tactic and abducts Tommy Oliver and turns him into her Silver Ranger. Silver Mammoth Ranger- Tommy Oliver- Tommy is strong as the Mammoth with a heart frozen by Ritaâs control. Fortunately the other rangers free him from her spell thawing his heart in the process. He is armed with the Mammoth Saber which doubles as a clarinet to summon his zord.
The Silver Mammoth Zord can shoot icy blasts from its trunk and pierce foes with its tusks. It can combine with the Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus and Triceratops zords to form the Mammoth Zord in Battle Mode. In this mode it is armed with a piercing drill and mighty shield.
While under Ritaâs control Tommy was given the three Power Crystals stolen all those years ago. He used them to combine with the Mammoth Zord to form the Mammoth Zord in Danger Mode to combat the Saurus Megazord. Once he was freed he took the Crystals with him and added the three zords to the Rangerâs arsenal. Magenta Dimetrodon Zord is armed with spinning saws and a digging drill. Teal Archelon Zord is armed with twin cannons Lavender Oviraptor Zord has a piercing beak and razor wings
As Ritaâs monsters grow stronger Jason and Tommy are sent on a journey to retrieve the last two Power Crystals thought lost in battle. After a dangerous quest they find the two Crystals and add two new zords to their arsenal allowing for the creation of the Cretaceous Megazord. Indigo Stygimoloch Zord is armed with a blade like tail and ramming head Pink Tupuxura Zord can create gale force winds with its wings Indigo Stygimoloch- Torso, head and sword Pink Tupuxura- Chest plate and wings Orange Pachycephalosaurus and Cyan Parasaurolophus- Arms Magenta Dimetrodon and Lavender Oviraptor- Legs Teal Archelon- Twin cannons.
Even with all their zords the Rangers need one last weapon to use against Ritaâs monsters. Gigantus rises from the depths off of Saintâs Grove like a mighty Plesiosaurus.
Gigantus combines with the main six zords to form the Saurus Gigazord. The ultimate weapon against evil. During a battle to defend a childrenâs hospital Tommy is gravely wounded and gives Jason his coin to give him the power and protection of the Mammoth. Enraged at her continued losses Rita enacts her most desperate plan yet. Using forbidden magic she resurrects her fallen daughter Bandora and sends her against the Rangers in the dreaded Colossor War Zord but even this fails. With no other option Rita unleashes the demonic Lokar to destroy the Rangers once and for all. After banishing Lokar back to his dimension the Rangers infiltrate Ritaâs palace and discover a book of spells. Using their Power Crystals they cast a spell sealing Rita and her minions away once more before using the Saurus Megazord to cast them out into the cosmos. Though the Crystals are now drained the Earth celebrates the Rangers victory, even Tommy joins in after his wounds have healed.

I Am Good: Jason Scott X Reader [PART III]
PART I PART II
Prompt: When you figured out Jason was a Power Ranger and the others finding out you were one as well, to say you were beyond pissed is an understatement. And because of your growing anger, Jason, being the leader, has to do everything in his power to get you to cooperate with them.
Requested: Yes and no.
Word Count: 2,377
Warnings: Semi-strong language
Authorâs Note: I SAW WICKED FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST WEDNESDAY AND I HAVE MAJOR INSPIRATION FOR THIS NOW SO AFTER THE DONNIE ONESHOT EXPECT A LOT OF THESE UPDATES AND MAJOR REFERENCES! This series might be longer than I thought but oh well. Also, after I finish this series, Iâm probably going to start writing series for the other rangers, but Iâll have to think about that first. Also, things might be weird now, but theyâll clear up later on I promise.
Jason let you up, but you felt everyoneâs eyes focused on you, or rather your skin color. You felt the blood rush to your cheeks, but with your skin tone, it just looked as though you became an even darker shade of the sickly green color. You stared down at the floor, rubbing your arm in sheer embarrassment. You wanted to snap at them, but then you remembered what happened a mere moment ago and thought itâd be best to keep your mouth shut.
âHow is there a green ranger?â The pink one asked. âI thought Rita was-?â
âShe was.â A booming voice said.
âZordon,â Jason said, his mask pulling back to reveal his rugged and handsome features. âCare to explain this?â
You stared at him, your eyes glazing over as you took in his face being protected by his red armor. It almost freaked you out that the guy who stuck up for you earlier that day was, in fact, one of the people who saved the town before you showed up to Angel Grove.
âJust as you, after the original Power Rangers died, new beings worthy enough of taking the position in protecting the Earth. Y/N, was it?â The old-sounding voice spoke through the cave. You nodded. âY/N, is just the same as your five.â
âSo we have an alien on our team now?â The black ranger asked.
âSpecies does not matter when it comes to the Power Rangers.â
You clenched your jaw and felt your fingertips digging into the palms of your hands. âIâm not an alienâŚâ You said through gritted teeth.
âWhat?â The blue ranger asked.
âIâm not an alien,â You repeated only louder and obviously angrier. âIâm human! And Iâm a human whoâs not going to stay here another minute! Keep the damn coin, I donât want it!â
You started speed-walking from the scene, mumbling to yourself about how bad of an idea this was and that you needed to get away from all these crazy people. You were also pretty sure you added somewhere in there that hopefully your father would want to move again and youâd get away and start yet another new life.
âWait, Y/N, wait!â You heard the others running up to you.
âAnd donât shout my damn name like any of you know me! We are not friends and I donât ever want to be! Hope we have an understanding with each other!â You said over your shoulder, catching a glimpse at the other rangers rushing after you with their masks peeled to show you their faces.
The blue one who had so clearly spoken out about your skin tone was Billy Cranston. The pink one had been Kimberly Hart, not that that part really surprised you. The yellow one was Trini Kwan and the black one had been Zack Taylor. And they were all hurrying towards you.
âY/N, listen, we didnât mean what we said, you know.â Jason said, trying to calm you down.
âMmm, yeah you did.â You sarcastically nodded. âOh, but donât worry. At least Iâm not some alien you pissed off!â
You were nearing the exit when you heard the voice from above shout, âYou cannot leave!â
âOh yeah?â You laughed impertinently. âWell guess what? Iâm not stopping for you, for them, or that godforsaken coin that severely screwed up my life more than it was already screwed up!â You heard rattling and felt the coin hit your back. âOh, look, itâs back again!â
âY/N, if you would please, just listen-â
âNope! I donât need to listen!â
âYou are a Power Ranger, a responsibility you need to take on.â
âYeah, see, I donât even know what the Hell that is! I donât know what this coin is, I donât even know any of you! So, if you donât mind, Iâm going back home where there is Netflix and leftover pizza waiting for me. Oh, and as far as Iâm concerned, none of this ever happened, so donât even think about trying to get to me while weâre in school!â You pointed your gaze directly at the five teenagers. âI mean it!â
You stood directly under the upside down water. You figured that since there was no ladder or anything, you had to jump. You figured that your ability would help you there, and you were right, for you went soaring up into the water and bobbed back to the top.
âJason,â Zordon spoke after you left. âYou know what you have to do.â
You walked home, dripping with water and shivering because of the cold. Â You rubbed your hands up and down your arms for just a little bit of warmth to come to your body, but it was no use. You were still livid, but you were just glad that it was late and no one would be outside to see you in all your green glory.
You heard a rickety vehicle coming from behind you, but if they passed you, they wouldnât be able to see your face anyway, so you continued walking. It wasnât until the car began to slow down that you began to panic only slightly.
âNeed a ride?â
Instantly knowing the voice and being unafraid to glare at him, you turned and gave Jason Scott the most hardened and cold stare you could muster and said, âNot from you.â
âY/N, listen-â
âDidnât I tell you not to talk to me?â You interrupted.
âDidnât you say you wanted to pretend none of this ever happened?â Jason smugly asked.
You raised an eyebrow and sighed, âFair enough.â
âSo, how about that ride?â Jason offered again.
You hesitated for a moment. A ride did sound pretty wonderful right now since your house was still about twenty minutes away if you walked and you were really cold. You had a miniature battle in your head, but another wave of shivers racked your body and you decided that getting a ride home with him in warmth was better than having to continue forward with goosebumps running along with arms. You pulled the car door open and slid into the passenger seat, not saying a word.
As the car started up and smoothly headed down the road, you could see Jason staring at you out of the corner of his eyes, as if he forgot your skin color. You doubted he saw it that well in the night, but seeing you with light on your face mustâve reminded him of your differences.
âSo, Y/N-â Jason cleared his throat, playing off his sudden staring game.
âYou donât have to pretend like this doesnât faze you, you know.â You said, cutting Jason off.
âWhat?â
âI can tell that this makes you feel uncomfortable. After all, who wouldn't feel disturbed at the very least that someone has skin the color of an emerald?â You halfheartedly laughed.
âNo! No, thatâs not at all-â
âLike I said, you donât have to pretend.â You scoffed. âI mean, you guys did attack me earlier.â
âOnly because we thought you wereâŚâ Jasonâs voice faded off once he realized what he was about to say.
âRight.â You used your tongue to your bottom lip. âBecause you thought I was an alien, a monster, a freak, whatever you want to call it.â
âLook, Y/N, Iâm truly sorry about that. But you have to understand that after what we went through with Rita Repulsa, weâve learned to be more vigilant of things.â Jason explained.
There was that name again. You knew Kimberly had used it earlier before, but you hadnât the slightest idea just who she was.
âWhoâs Rita?â You asked, looking over at Jason for the first time since you stepped into the car. âKimberly and that Zordon guy said she was the green ranger or whatever before I came along. So what exactly happened to her?â
âI thought you wanted to pretend that this never happened.â Jason said again.
âI donât,â You replied. âBut an explanation would at least be niceâŚâ
âOkay then.â Jason started. âRita was a member of the Power Rangers before, but she somehow got corrupted and killed most of the other rangers before falling into the ocean and remaining there for centuries. She somehow rose up again a short while ago and caused all that destruction. Luckily, we found the coins before she managed to create her monster and find what she wanted. That wouldâve been worse of a disaster, but we were able to slap her through the stratosphere so she can never return.â
You remained silent. Your mind wandered to dark places when you heard of this, places you didnât even want to think about. It took you to a world of insults and malicious names your father had said you to you growing. It brought you back to a time where you did something so⌠so awful, that it haunts you to this very day. It reminded you of everything you never, ever wanted to be.
You pulled your green coin out of your pocket. And then you got to thinking.
These Power Rangers were good, and nothing but. So maybe if you did and proved that you were good despite what your father and all you had done in the past, then maybe you could prove to yourself that you werenât what your father saw you as! Imagine that⌠after years and years of screwing up and being a disappointment, you could do something right for once.
âJason?â
âHmm?â Jason hummed, not taking his eyes off the road.
âWell⌠Say I at least try to be a Power Ranger,â You said slowly, carefully choosing your words. âSay I agree to just attempt to live with all of this. Can you promise me that I wonât be treated any different than if I looked normal? Because if Iâm going to do this and not regret, Iâd rather not be branded as an alien from Mars for the time being.â
âYouâll do it?â Jason asked, almost in shock that you said you would agree to be a ranger.
âWeâll see how it goes, but thatâs only if you can do that for me.â You spoke, your face not showing much emotion.
âI will, I swear. I promise that no one will say anything about, well⌠that.â
You just leaned back into the seat while shaking your head. You spotted your house as the car rolled towards and told Jason when to stop, even if you figured he sort of knew since his friends had practically followed you home that day. When the car rolled to stop, you unbuckled before looking over to Jason.
âThanks for the ride.â
âNo problem. Thanks for agreeing with us.â Jason felt the need to add the last statement with a smug smirk, almost feeling proud for doing nothing.
âLike I said,â You pointed out. âIâll see how it goes, then weâll talk. Goodnight, Jason.â
âNight, Y/N.â Jason shouted to you as you hurried towards your house door.
When you entered, you noticed something was different. You were used to the empty feeling of the house since it was just you, but this was different than an empty feeling. This was something darker, more sinister, and more than anything your body would handle. It was almost sickening to you, but the laugh that followed was even worse.
You looked around but saw no one. âHello?â
âWell, looks like my replacement has finally arrived home.â A sly, feminine voice purred from behind you, close to your ear.
You felt like whipping around to face the person but you felt immobilized and werenât able to move a single muscle. All you could do was breath heavily as you felt something with an almost nonexistent touch sharp lightly trace your jawbone without cutting your skin. You saw a woman with noticeably electric blue eyes and pieces of golden shards framing her thin and monstrous features. She wore a forest green body suit that had rigid edges and around her dark, dark hair and her neck were cords that were so scaly and dark that they looked like snakes, giving you the impression this terrifying woman who somehow managed to enter your house was in fact descended from one.
âWell, well, well.â The woman smiled nefariously, showing off her golden teeth. âIâm not surprised that the coin chose someone so⌠vibrant, to take my place. Seems they make such odd decisions these days. But I must say, what perfect skin to match, though.â
âW-Who are you?â You barely managed to choke out.
âY/N, was it?â The woman asked. You couldn't nod, but she figured she was right. âYou arenât very bright, are you? And after all the red ranger just told you?â
And it clicked. âRita.â
She laughed darkly, âThatâs right. And youâre the one whoâs taking my place as the green ranger.â
âH-H-How? Jason, he said that you-â
âWere thrown into space? Well, heâs right about that. And unfortunately, Iâm still there, floating about, frozen in the vast and open range of space. But a consciousness can still live on, Y/N, and mine is right here, speaking to you.â
âThat canât be possible.â
âOh, but it is, darling. Our minds are connected since weâre so alike. Since weâre both the living green rangers.â
âWeâre nothing alike! You destroyed most of the town! You killed so many!â
âAnd you havenât?â Rita tilted her head, pretending to be innocent. Your eyes widened, fearful of how she could possibly have any knowledge of that. âThatâs right, Y/N. I know all about what you did to your poor, poor sister and that mother of yours. So tragic, isnât it?â
âWhat do you want?â You spat, avoiding the subject.
âOh, I donât want anything. Iâd just thought Iâd greet the new green ranger. And now that I have, I suppose Iâll take my leave. See you soon, Y/N.â
You didnât remember how she vanished, but you just knew she was gone before you even blinked your eyes. And when she was out of sight, you felt the sensations come back to your body all at once rendering you helpless as you sunk to the floor in a puddle of terror. To say the least you didnât sleep very well that night.

Movie Review: Power Rangers
Jason Scott. Kimberly Hart. Billy Cranston. Trini Kwan. Zack Taylor.
Itâs been some time since those were the names of a current Power Rangers team and I remember the original cast somewhat fondly. I remember watching the original series when I was 14 or so and it is a safe bet that many in their 20âs or 30âs grew up with at least one of the teams over the course of the multi-decades of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. One of my favorite memories ever was spending new years eve with a group of friends as we figured out a movie to watch, and we had finally decided on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Now, that movie didnât have the entire original cast as only Kimberly and Billy had remained on, but it was still a movie that was so bad that it was actually kind of good. You know the kind.
This new Power Rangers movie works as a reboot to the original team using the same names as the first five kids to discover that they were part of something much bigger than themselves. The movie changes a little bit of lore to make it work here and frankly, it all works quite well. I found that the film emphasized more on the kids themselves than any version of the tv series ever did, digging far deeper into who they are and most importantly, why they are.
The cast of this new team is a rather remarkable group of young actors that do a great job of getting you to actually care about them. You have Jason Scott (Dacre Montgomery) as a high school ex-football player who was injured in a school prank. Kimberly Hart (Naomi Scott) was a popular girl who was cast out of her inner circle. Billy Cranston (RJ Cyler) is autistic and often bullied. Trini Kwan (Becky G) a new girl to school who has trouble making friends. Zack Taylor (Ludi Lin) who describes himself as a bit crazy but who also skips school to take care of his sick mother.
At first, I wasnât sure about Becky G and Ludi Lin. I was completely sold on RJ Cyler as his Billy is a true highlight of the film and easily the most likable member of the cast. They do a great job on Dacre and Naomi with their set up of Jason and Kimberly, but again, I wasnât sold on Becky G and Ludi Lin, at first. A bit more than halfway into the film you get to learn more about them and what makes them tick. They play defensive for a solid chunk of the film but once you get to know them, they become far deeper and richer characters and it is then that the whole team comes together quite well.
Bryan Cranston, technically the second B Cranston to feature in the movie is back in the Power Ranger world as Zordon. Back during the original series, Cranston played a few villains here and there and it almost became more of a silly bit of Power Rangers trivia than anything widely known. Cranston does a great job here as Zordon, even if the character is barely used to great effect. There is a very cool scene at the start of the film that features the actor and it does a great job at setting up what is in store for the new team that would replace his.
The annoying robot from the original series, Alpha 5, is back and voiced by Bill Hader. They did a pretty good job at making him a fairly new version of the character but still retaining the essence of the Alpha 5 from the original series. He has some pretty laughable moments guiding the Power Rangers around their new base as well as the many training moments in the film. It took me a little while to get used to Hader as the character as he doesnât do much to change his own voice.
I will say that the only actor to let me down in the movie is the one on-screen that didnât really have much to lose; Elizabeth Banks. While the rest of the on-screen cast of young actors are giving their all in the possibility that this is their big break, Banks just seems to bring too much cheesy-ness to a movie that is trying to be somewhat silly but more grounded than what Banks is trying to do with villain Rita Repulsa. The scene of her in the jewelry store felt like part of a completely different movie and one that stood out for me, in a bad way. I like parts of what she did like the visit to Trini in the middle of the night or the confrontation at the shipping yard, but overall I felt she didnât give near as much to the film as the Rangers themselves did.
While the movie does retain some of the classic lines like âItâs Morphin Time!â and âMake my monster grow!â the movie does a good job at having its own identity and doesnât fall into just making a live-action film that follows the tv show too closely. This is a modern Power Rangers for a current audience and it does stray away from a lot of what made the original series what it was, and the film is better for it. I mentioned before that this film digs into the personal and troubled lives of its Rangers far more than any of the series before it, and it does so in ways that will allow you to better relate to any of the characters in this film. This character building does come at a cost of the action, but generally, in films like this, you tend to not get this good of character building, so itâs nice to see that Director Dean Israelite chose to offer substance over style, at least where it counted.
The suits, the Zords and the other visual elements that are commercially viable for a movie essentially based on color coded ninjaâs that attack with giant robots are put on hold for much of the film. This is an origin story and the build up and team building for the group feels real and is well paced. This is a group of teens that donât know each other at the start of the film and they will need to go through much to get where they need to go, and they do. Itâs also rather hilarious to even call them teens given the fact that the actors themselves range from 20-29 years of age.
The movie relies very little on big visual effects until the tail end of the film and while the suits look great, the Zords arenât nearly as impressive but are fairly serviceable. The soundtrack is pretty decent throughout the film and for those hoping to hear a little âGo Go Power Rangersâ music, youâll be happy to know that, yeah, they do sneak it in there for a quick scene.
Power Rangers was great, a much better film than I was expecting. The trailers themselves werenât terribly impressive, but itâs the final film that matters and it succeeds. The group of relatively unknown actors do a great job as the new group of Rangers, coming across as very real people with real backgrounds and problems. Elizabeth Banks is probably the only actor that failed to live up to the standard to which the rest of the cast held themselves to and this version of Rita Repulsa deserved better. Iâm excited to see the future of this hopeful franchise and who knows, maybe weâll get a new version of Zedd, or another Ranger down the line.
Itâs Morphin Time!
