#If D can sell teddy bears as pets he sure as hell can sell a statue

D let out a little hum as Avi pulled out his phone, not in distaste for he quite liked technology (when it wasn't being used to harm other living beings) but rather at what Avi had typed. Honesty was something D appreciated in people and it was a shame far too many humans were anything but honest, but the fact that Avi had been quite open about his living situation, that he didn't have the room or funds to care for a pet made him exactly the sort of customer D enjoyed dealing with. The pet shop owner rubbed his chin thoughtfully as his winged rabbit, Q-chan, landed on his shoulder with an affirmative chirp. "As a matter of fact, we may just have the perfect pet for you right here. It arrived last night and for that reason it is not currently on display out front, but you're more than welcome to take a look at the other creatures if this one doesn't meet your interests. I think you may be pleasantly surprised with this one, though." Avi wasn't just any ordinary customer. There was certainly something here that had shown interest in the man from the moment he stepped onto the premises and Q-chan had confirmed his gut feeling when Avi pulled out his phone, a flash of bronze catching the animal's eye. The Eye of Horus!
"If you'll come with me please, I can show you the way. Out back is... still being set up and it may be easy to get lost." D said, beckoning Avi with a svelte hand. Unlike other shops in Gotham, the back of the pet shop was a endless maze of corridors and doors, twists and turns leading the unwary to possible dangers and even out of this world entirely... Of course, D had no such intentions to lead Avi to such an unpleasant fate, rather the pet he'd promised that had no need of room any greater than a small table. He was somewhat sure Avi had that much room to spare at least, for even an altar - scratch that - an altar would be the perfect home for this particular creature.
"Here we are. The animal in question is just through these doors, though I must ask that you don't think I'm playing a trick on you. The creature in here is very real despite the way it looks." D said, gently pushing open the door. Darkness filled the chamber, flickers of candleflame providing the only source of light within that revealed, sitting there upon an elaborate altar with the aroma of Kyphi burning in the air was a small statue in the form of an Egyptian beast.
#violetgleams#;; starter#I hope this was okay and didn't rush too much!#If anything needs changing just let me know ;;#If D can sell teddy bears as pets he sure as hell can sell a statue#And statues don't require much in the way of feeding or housing :3#Leaving it to your interpretation as to what creature it is!#I thought Bastet at first because of the whole 'Raid Avi's Apartment' thing but :')
