Sleep Sunny Days Are Perfect For Sleepy Cat Demons

Summary:

The Auspicious Clouds Sect consisted of a ring of seven tall, sky-reaching mountains. Pure white clouds would often swirl through the air, producing a cool climate. The Sect Leader was the Venerable Daoist Zhou YunQiang.

In his human form, the Venerable Zhou YunQiang wore silver robes, had long white hair and a pair of dragon horns. His manner was mild, his smile calm and friendly. He was not one to be crossed.

But that bloody history of his rise in the Auspicious Clouds Sect was just that—history. He would be the first to freely admit that he had since mellowed out.

Nowadays, Vulnerable Zhou YunQiang was content dealing with sect matters.

On this particular day, though, he postponed sect matters for something personally important: the anniversary of his marriage with his Dao Companion, the Cat-Immortal Daoist Xu JinWei.

Notes:

This was a short-story idea for the "sunny day" theme in a past BL Palace anthology. It would be a warm, soft, cute ultra fluffy and super sweet story.

I plotted it out entirely, but I think I couldn't write it, i.e., the words just didn't flow. I think it was partly because I hadn't read any xianxia for a while so I couldn't capture the feel.

So in the end, this story idea was shelved 😔

Just a concept

So my laptop glitched up a bit in the morning. You know how some laptop chargers are in two parts, one part with the adapter and cable connecting to the laptop, and another connector cord linking the power socket to the adapter. So this morning I plugged out the charger and disconnected the cord, and after I put it away, I proceeded to pack the adapter half, and I noticed the laptop’s “plugged in and charging“ indicator light was still on. I thought for a moment that the adapter was still charging the laptop, but then I realized that couldn’t be the case.

But then I thought again: why not? We have power banks for phones, why not for laptops? It’s a bit different from a spare battery pack, because with a spare battery, you still have to turn off your laptop for a bit to replace the battery. Just a bit of extra juice, to make sure your work isn’t lost when you can’t find a place to plug it in in time, or to give it that little boost when you have an idea you really want to just note down before you have to scramble to charge your laptop and the idea escape you, or, for me, to let my own darned laptop, whose battery just nicely fail to support me through a college lecture, actually endure one like I have to.

Nothing too fancy, or too bulky. Just a small rechargeable battery incorporated into the adapter, or maybe make a separate compartment for it, but within one box so you don’t have too many things along the cord or too many things to carry around. Maybe let it hold enough power to extend your laptop use by another 30 minutes or so, and have it charge while you’re recharging your main laptop battery too. Nothing too extravagant, but probably pretty handy when you really need it.

If there are engineers out there who actually have time for Tumblr, maybe evaluate the idea a bit and hopefully, if it is feasible, make it happen. Thank you.

My, my, but I do, I so very much like them. I ship them to Hell and back. Repeatedly. In one night. Because Bullseye can definitely send people places, but I’m pretty sure those places aren’t Heaven. (Also if you’ve been going through my tags, as I see you have been, I’ve just recently started using personal OTP tags for some of the names that don’t smoosh easily, just to make them easier to type. The Daken/Lester tag is otp: i hate that smile—all future posts for the ship will be tagged with their individual names for tracking purposes but that ship tag for searching purposes on this blog.)

Most of the story ideas are free to use! They were done for the meme, but I can’t possibly write all of them myself. I’d like to reserve the fake dating story and the Dark Avengers high school AU for myself, as I came up with those with a friend and I think they’d be very fun to write—I may actually do the fake dating one soon—but the rest are fair game.

Actually, as per my transformative works policy, pretty much any headcanon or story idea I come up with and post on here is fair game if someone wants to use it. With story ideas I’d rather you checked with me first, since sometimes I post an idea because it’s something that I’ve actually just started on, but for the most part all I require is credit.

Rebirth of the illegitimate eldest brother: f**k my father, I’ll raise my siblings properly!

Summary:

Lê Anh Quân ‘Quin’ was the eldest, and illegitimate son of the wealthy Lê family. 

After he was “rediscovered” at one of City M’s state care facilities, Quin was taken back to the family. It was as though Quin’s IQ went offline. With his father’s ‘encouragement’, Quin fought with his half-siblings for inheritance and lost.

At this worst time of his life, his old childhood rival Li ZhengYu pulled him out and helped him up.

Things were finally going well, but then Quin and Li ZhengYu were reborn together back when they were aged 15...And on the very day Quin was going to be picked up by his scum so-called-father!

With this second chance...F**k his father! Quin will raise his siblings properly!

Parents trying to do very scummy things, love triangles, cheating etc etc

The MC raising his young siblings, and the siblings banding together to fight the parents

Notes:

The double rebirth was inspired by Reborn with an Old Enemy on the Day of our Marriage; the concept of this story was inspired by all those family drama BL where the children fight against each other for inheritance and such. I wanted to see them band together and oust the person/people who were encouraging them to fight each other! Also, I wanted a Viet main character...

I wrote one complete chapter and some parts of later chapters. I think the problem was that I had a lot of inspiration, but there wasn't a concrete plot. I had notes, potential scenes, and vibes I wanted to portray, but no clear path.

Hence, this idea was shelved 😅

Transmigrating to the Ancient Times with Poison system to become the Noble Imperial Concubine!!–wait, no, sorry, no can do, I’m gay~

Summary:

Lou Lixuan dies saving a woman, only to be transmigrated to an unfamiliar ancient era into the body of a young girl named Li Xuan, who is about to be sold off after a series of unlucky engagements. An Administration System grandly announces to her: congratulations! If you do this, coincidentally meet the Emperor, enter the Imperial Harem, and use your Poison System, and scheme to become the most powerful Nobel Imperial Concubine! If you’re smart, you can even become the Empress!

Lou Lixuan: *gag* Sorry, no can do, I’m gay~.... and I’m a doctor! F*ck off!

After throwing the annoying Administration System into a black room, Lou Lixuan runs away, finds a candidate wife who is much better than the Emperor, and uses her new Medicine Refining system to help others! (And help herself.)

Thank goodness for the Medicine Refining System, since Lou Lixuan is a doctor, not a pharmacist!

Notes:

I have 13 page document with +5000 words outlining what would happen and other random notes. It was inspired by all the Ancient China BL stories that I've read. It's a shame when modern characters (men) in these stories transmigrate to the past and then continue to perpetuate the sexism of that era. Hence, why don't I write a GL??!!

However, I don't really read much GL so I have no idea if this kind of story already exists. I was also wary that I would get weary of writing so many sexist characters for the villains, and with other things I'm writing, this idea was eventually shelved 😔

Summary:

Becoming a famous programmer in an MMORPG!

Li Kaizhe is a programmer; he’s not really interested in games. But after his younger brother provokes him, Li Kaizhe picks up [WORLD-/-ONLINE], a fairly new (low-VR) MMORPG that allows users with programming knowledge to develop unique and personal items in-game.

Li Kaizhe came for the code, but he stayed for the people he found there.

Notes:

This story idea was inspired by Half Prince and The King's Avatar, but adding in stronger technical (coding) elements.

The MC was to be a quiet, introvert, and somewhat ruthless (in battle) character, while the ML was based on Half Prince's ML, an ex-esports god who nowadays streams and plays music, and is quite a flirt.

I wrote 32k words of this, and even finalised 8 chapters, and there were emojis and discord-like conversations and everything T_T

But I think ultimately all the game elements was too much, and I had too big of a cast (i.e. the team of players the MC and ML would form). I also realised that I much rather read e-sport stories than write my own.

And so, this story was shelved 😅

Transmigrating To Ancient Times With An Online Encyclopaedia

Lê Việt Khải was reading an online wiki-based encyclopaedia when he died.

When he came to, he realised he had crossed to Ancient Vietnam and became a young man who had once again failed the regional examinations.

The original young man wanted to continue studying and take the exams again. Unfortunately, his father and stepmother denied him any more resources and forced him out to a hovel in the ancestral village. In despair, he jumped into the river to join his dead mother.

The body was saved, but the original soul was gone. Instead, Khai took his place.

The just-transmigrated Khai, who had already washed his hands of university entrance exams: …. No thank you!

Not to mention that the court examinations were based on the classics and literature…Khai was a science graduate, okay?

Looking around at his new living space, it was more important to earn money.

Wait…why was there an online encyclopaedia in his brain? Ah, even the references were linked… ◉‿◉

After reading so many Chinese BL with Ancient Time+Farming, I wanted to write a Vietnamese-setting.

I actually started writing this story, but stopped on the 11th chapter (11.9k total words). Unfortunately, the interactions between the MC and ML just didn't feel quite right. I tried to make the ML (Xuan) a more "silent" type character, and it grounded conversations to a distant halt.

And eventually, I felt that having an online encyclopaedia was a bit too much if the MC couldn't pull through and be amazing.

Thus, this story idea was shelved 🥺

CEO Draco Malfoy and Farmer Harry Potter and that time they were reborn back into their 4th year at Hogwarts

Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter’s history was tumultuous, to say the least. Yet, somehow, after many years, the two of them fell in love, got married, and enjoyed domestic bliss.

They didn’t expect to suddenly get reborn together 5 minutes before the 3rd task of the Triwizard Tournament in their 4th Year.

Couldn’t the great unknown forces at least give them a few more days before the 3rd task? Or maybe take them back to the start of the 4th year? Or the start of their 1st year? Was that too much to ask?

Forget it, this was a one-in-a-lifetime chance. So, after dealing with annoying matters, Draco and Harry immediately pick up their professions again. Draco was going to become one of the richest men in the world and Harry was going to become an Auror-retiree looking for new meaning in life.

Everyone else: Wait, what?

This story idea was strongly inspired by Reborn with an Old Enemy on the Day of our Marriage 和宿敌结婚当天一起重生了, after which I went into a rabbit hole of reading regression drarry fics on AO3. However, after reading reading those fics on AO3, none of them had the same kind of ~dramatics~ and overpoweredness that Reborn with an Old Enemy had, hence the birth of this story idea.

It would have been full of crack (treated seriously), full of Draco acting like a domineering CEO who treats money as dirt, full of Harry being a hero but also making his little farming plot on Hogwarts grounds...

Unfortunately, I barely remember what happened in the later HP books, and add in my lack of time to write a 100+ chapter fic, this story idea was shelved 😭

The problem isn’t coming up with ideas, it is how to contain the invasion. My ideas are like uninvited guests. They don’t knock on the door; they climb in through the windows like burglars who show up in the middle of the night and make a racket in the kitchen as they raid the fridge. I don’t sit and ponder which one I should deal with first. The one to be wrestled to the floor before all others is the one coming at me with the most vehemence. I have, over the years, developed methods to deal with the invaders as quickly and efficiently as possible, though the burglars never stop coming. You invite a handful of friends for dinner, but the door bursts open and a hundred people are pushing in. You might manage to get rid of them, but from around the corner another fifty appear almost immediately… Finishing a film is like having a great weight lifted from my shoulders. It’s relief, not necessarily happiness. But you relish dealing with these “burglars.” I am glad to be rid of them after making a film or writing a book. The ideas are uninvited guests, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t welcome.
