i try pretty hard to not let fandom get to me. i think fandom can make it harder for me to get into a ship sometimes. like if people wrote blossom/ivy differently i might get into it.

also everyone who insists leafpool and mothwing don't have an age gap makes me emphasize it more. every. single. time. someone argues with me about it? i add a sentence about their age difference.

No one asked this and no one cares, but here’s my personal opinions about every glee ship:

Finchel: they had their cute moments, but in general I really dislike them as couple. They brought the worst out of each other when they were together, Finn made Rachel insecure and was also incredibly possessive of her (not in a cute way) and Rachel pressured Finn too much. She wanted to control him and often tried change him, they’re too different and not compatible. I think Rachel needs someone more simalar to her or someone who can understand her, because Finn really didn’t get Rachel.

Klaine: I’m neutral about klaine, I don’t hate them, but simply I’m not invested into this ship. They aren’t toxic, but I think their relationship has many issues and is a little unhealthy sometimes.They had a good start, but as the show went on they got worse. I love Blaine, he’s my gay son, but he was too jealous and controlling about Kurt. Kudos for the gay representation, i acknowledge their huge impact on the lgbt community

Brittana: wow what can I say about them ? They’re everything, best friends to lovers excellence. Brittana had a rough start, but their dynamic became a beautiful and mature relationship in which they always supported and loved each other. Even when they dated other people, Santana and Brittany respected each other. It had and still has a huge importance for the sapphic community, it is good representation and one of the first big teen wlw couples. Brittana are the definition of soulmates

Quick: absolute trash, Puck got Quinn drunk on wine coolers and then had sex with her while she was still drunk. There was nothing consensual about that. The fact that rib never acknowledged this is disgusting. They had very little interactions, their relationship was not developed. Puck and Quinn have literally nothing in common, they’re not compatible in any way and them getting together at the end always irked me because in s3 Quinn said she didn’t care about all the boys she dated in the past. If you ship them idc it’s fine, but I hate this pairing. It’s a huge no from me, I think Puck liked Quinn only because she was hot.

Faberry: THEY’RE MY RIDE OR DIE YOU DON��T UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO ME. Enemies to lovers excellence, I know faberry was queerbaiting, but I still ship them after all these years. They have chemistry, lots of yearning and sexual tension, impossibly high angst level. This is the only pairing in which I will accept the trope “homophobic jock falls in love with the person they bully”. At first they were terrible to each other, but they managed to built a nice relationship and I seriously think Rachel was the only one for Quinn because she was the only person who always showed Quinn love and support even when they were enemies. I also think that Rachel felt something more than platonic for Quinn at some point (always ranting about how beautiful Quinn is ? That’s gay)

St berry: I like them, I know they had little screen time and they weren’t even supposed to be a thing according to rib (bc they planned on making finchel endgame), but I think they’re compatible, Jesse is probably the only person who could keep up with Rachel. They have many things in common and even though he was shitty to her at first, he redeemed himself. Rachel and Jesse have good romantic chemistry and excellent musical chemistry, their duets are amazing. I’m happy they got together in the end.

Pezberry: oh boy they’re so hot together, lots of sexual chemistry, they could have been enemies to friends to lovers excellence or at least friends with benefits, but ryan murphy is a coward. I enjoy their scenes, they’re hilarious together and always make me laugh. I think they’re a pretty explosive duo, pezberry has great musical chemistry, all their duets are iconic and there’s a lot of sexual tension between them, they’re definitely compatible in bed but idk if they would last in a long term relationship.

Quinntana: this pairing was very random in my opinion because Quinn and Santana lowkey hated each other and always wanted to destroy each other, BUT they are very hot together, they’re probably the most gorgeous couple on glee because both dianna and naya are insanely attractive. Quinntana gave me my sapphic!quinn rights and I’ll be forever thankful about that, they’re compatible in bed, but I like them only as friends with benefits. I don’t see any romantic chemistry between them, mostly because they were always competing about who was the hbic of the school. I don’t think they would last as a stable couple. I wanted to see more of quinntana though.

Fabrevans: if Quinn had to end up with a man, the only heterosexual Quinn ship I tolerate is fabrevans because Sam was really kind, sweet and good to her. Sadly she wasn’t very interested in him, he was just the hot new guy soon to become quarterback and I think she dated him for popularity. I don’t think they would have lasted in a long term relationship, they were cute together romantically speaking but I don’t ship them.

Samcedes: should have been endgame, definition of wasted potential

Tike: should have been endgame, even though I don’t care about Mike and Tina they were really good together, the love was genuine. Tike is one of the few heterosexual couple I don’t mind

Artittany: is a huge no from me, they had zero chemistry and he treated her like trash, artie deserved to be cheated on lol (I’m joking no one deserves that but I really don’t like artie because he’s sexist, misogynistic and he also treated all his gfs like crap)

Seblaine: I honestly don’t see it, Sebastian was definitely interested in Blaine, but Blaine always only had eyes for Kurt. Still I think they should have dated in s6, it would have been fun to see Kurt jealous about his nemesis dating his ex bf. I like the idea of Seblaine having a one night stand, but I don’t ship them as a couple. I also don’t like Sebastian very much, sorry.

Fuinn: A HUGE NO, they were aesthetically pleasing together, but that’s it. They didn’t have sexual tension, they just had tension. Fuinn is a little dysfunctional in my opinion, they get together, they break up and then start dating again just like finchel. I honestly don’t think they were in love, but they cared about each other in a platonic way. Finn wasn’t a good boyfriend to Quinn and Quinn constantly manipulated him. I don’t like them as a couple, they’re too messy.

Blam: best friends to lovers excellence, lots of wasted potential. I’m not saying they should have been endgame, but Sam and Blaine should have dated. I like the idea of Sam discovering he’s bi or pan and exploring his sexuality with someone who cares about him. They have chemistry and I like their dynamic. I also fancy their duets and I think they could have fallen in love with each other.

Hevans: ok if I squint I can see it, they had potential, Kurt was definitely attracted to Sam and Sam was kind of curious about him, I’m sure he admires Kurt and cares about him, but I don’t ship them together

Sebtana, Finntana, Pucktana: ABSOLUTE TRASH DON’T SHIP CANON LESBIAN CHARACTERS WITH MEN, IT’S INCREDIBLY HARMFUL AND INVALIDATING. There are so many heterosexual ships, why do you have to take away from the gays the few lgbt characters we have ?

Quinncedes: i don’t ship them romantically, but I ship them as best friends. I wished their friendship was more developed, Quinn and Mercedes were so good to each other.

Quinntina: have they even interacted with each other ? (Lmao I’m joking again don’t get pressed, you can ship what you what). I don’t ship it, they’re cute and I lowkey like Tina, but it’s not my cup of tea. Still it’s a wlw ship, so I don’t have anything against it.

Wemma: no

Artie x Tina: I don’t even know their ship name, imagine how much irrelevant they are to me. Again I don’t like how artie treats women, I don’t ship them and Tina deserves better than him.

Samchel: underrated af, i’m not saying they should have been endgame because they wouldn’t have lasted in a long term relationship, BUT they were cute together. Sam was really good for Rachel, he made her more humble and helped her to heal after Finn died. They deserved more development and had a lot of potential. I don’t remember what happened in s6, but I liked samchel dating, I don’t mind them as a romantic couple, even though they’re not very compatible.

Brochel: it was not as bad as rib tried to make us believe. I don’t ship them but they have sexual/romantic chemistry and also musical chemistry. I’m neutral about Brody and Rachel, he was hot, but he was also incredibly boring and one dimensional

Julyberry: the sexual tension between them is so high, i loved it when they did all that jazz, I think they should have been fuck buddies or had a one night stand. Lots of sexual and musical chemistry, i lowkey ship them bc milf!kate hudson rights. Maybe after Rachel graduates at nyda, they could date

Don't worry, I'm not gonna make a mile long post. I'm just gonna hit on the key moments, but I think these two deserve a bit of spotlight.

Ok, spoiler warning for ppl who haven’t played – do I still need to do this? Eh ok, (I tag FF7R spoilers as final fantasy 7 remake spoilers) and it’s gonna be reasonably long.

Also, this is one person’s interpretation of the scene, so if you disagree that’s cool and we’ll agree to disagree.

Chapter 1: Barret isn't impressed one bit with Cloud. Watching back their early interactions and I keep noticing this sad look on Cloud's face when he's excluded. But then, I'm also like “Well you pushed them away first”. But I also wanna hug him.

Yeah, so Barret isn't impressed and he's outright hostile, calling Cloud names and antagonising him. He even shoots at Cloud and then raises his gun to take out a security bot. This man doesn't like Cloud and isn't afraid to show it.

You gotta remember, Barret is 6'5 and built like a brick shit house and has a machine gun on his arm. He's not someone to mess with. Taking that in, Cloud's dismissiveness is pretty impressive. I mean he's almost a foot shorter than Barret, after all, and his sword probably weighs more than him lol

Perhaps by the end of the chapter – after Cloud saves Jessie – Barret might have thawed a tiny bit towards him, but he's still mistrusting and doesn't like him.

Chapter 2 and there's not a lot of interaction between them. Barret does actually agree with Cloud when he says “what's done is done” in reference to the destruction. This shows Barret is pragmatic and not against Cloud himself, just his role. After that, Cloud's alone for the rest of the chapter until the above screen when he leaps into the cargo carriage of the train and Barret says, “You had me worried for a minute.”

He looks caught out when the others all look at him because he's been a total dick to Cloud throughout the mission, but this shows he cares about his team, even if he doesn't like everyone on it. Showing concern for his people is the trait of a leader and if the game were showcased differently we could assume that Barret is our leading man.

“The folks down here don't have the luxury of choice, you know.”

Still in chapter 2 and this is such a great moment between Cloud and Barret! There's no arguing, just Barret giving Cloud a different perspective that's not the badass merc “Idc” one he's showcasing. You can see once the conversation is over that Cloud grows introspective, so Barret's words clearly resonated with him. This looks like another marker on Cloud's chart of going from a douchebag to a decent human being. He thinks about how things are for other people. Later, Marle tells him to consider others feelings, too. To listen. I'm loving all these small moments that come together to build a clearer of picture of Cloud's development.

Barret actually removes his sunglasses – why is he wearing them at night? – to meet Cloud's eye. This is a gesture that shows his sincerity and belief in his words. He's not just blustering for the sake of it. He cares about the people and the planet.

Chapter 3 and we don't see Barret until near the end. He's back to being snappy with Cloud – understandable since he's being a dick going on about money.

(aside: can I just squee at Cloud smiling at Tifa through this whole bit. He's such a dork)

And when we see Barret again he's very professional and courteous. There's no emotion in his tone and his words are very formal. He could be talking to anybody. His head dips as he's speaking, in an effort to lower himself more to Cloud's physical level. On an emotional one, he's making himself non-threatening. This isn’t a confrontation is what he’s putting out.

Cloud doesn't look happy at the dismissal and something we know about him is his desire for acceptance, so this probably hurts, although he acts otherwise.

We're up to chapter 5 and this is a turning point between Cloud and Barret's budding friendship. Barret's in battle dialogue makes it clear he's trying to show off in front of Cloud, who's dismissive still. There's a lot of back and forth between them in the kind of guy banter that suggests they kind of respect each other, but they also just have to put up with each other.

The above screen is the second before Cloud says to Barret that he's better than that in response to his arguing with the Shinra manager. Barret seems surprised Cloud even tries with him, but what's more telling is this expression from Cloud shows he gave it some thought before speaking. He considered the right words to address Barret which shows he's thought about the kind of reaction Barret could have. He took in Barret’s words from chapter 2 and Marle’s from chapter 3. This is called character development!

Chapter and Cloud throws some shade and Barret blusters lol

Tbf Barret's grown a lot less hostile since chapter 1. He's not as combative to Cloud, nor is he maliciously insulting him anymore. They've entered a stage of snarky banter, which we all know is one of the big steps on the road to friendship lol

Clearly Barret being able to see Cloud in action and rely on him in battle – not to mention Tifa's enduring good opinion – are starting to colour his own opinion.

(Tifa actually rears back when Barret waves his arm around in this bit lol)

Barret looking to Cloud for back up here. I mean, they're all in the shit, but this is interesting that he's looking to Cloud for that reassurance they're gonna continue kicking ass. The fact Cloud agrees without even the tiniest disagreement is probably the first time they're genuinely on the same page through their own choice.

Let the friendship begin!

Now, I bet you're thinking I picked this one to showcase cloti, well you're wrong. This is an example of how Barret's mellowed towards Cloud from his chapter 1 hostility to now. Cloud disagrees with him and instead of getting pissed that his leader decision is overruled, he lets it go.This could be a moment of contention between them, but they’ve both grown enough over the game to get to the point that not everything between them is a fight.

Now, maybe Barret's saying this because he thinks Cloud is about to die, but that seems selfish and like he's saying it to make himself feel better after being a douchebag, and for a selfless man like Barret I just don't buy it. He's genuinely regretful of his past actions and this is the point between the two of them that they can start again and actually become proper friends.

There's no time for much of a guy reunion between them when Barret does see Cloud again all the way over in chapter 12 -- that’s a long ass time apart for Barret to think about how he treated Cloud -- and we kind of brush past Barret's feelings because the plate collapse takes priority.

After that, Barret is much nicer to Cloud, trying to get his praise in battle and being a proper support to him. There's still that snarky banter between them, but the hostile edge has gone. We see a culmination of their friendship development during the stairs climbing sequence. Where before their banter had a hard edge and combative nature to it, this is very friendly and full of jokes and warmth. Barret has definitely softened towards Cloud and considers him a real friend. You can't fake that shit.

Conclusion

Yeah, I kinda cut this short and didn't do the latter half of the game, but that's because it's much more clear than this early development. Focusing on the small interactions between them that built a gradual friendship, it took a huge shock to get Barret to reassess his opinion of Cloud and him dropping from the reactor, going missing and then showing up to save the day covered it. It was like he got a reset and from that he dropped his prejudiced preconceived ideas about Cloud and opened up to him more. Because there’s such a huge gap between the time Barret sees Cloud again, it’s easy to miss the middle part of their friendship. The part where it goes from dislike to like. It’s easy to remember Barret hating Cloud and then see them being a team after chapter 12 because those moments stick in your mind more. It’s the transition that gets lost.

I love their development and how they become friends. It's not the kind of friendship that Barret shows with Red. Those two are bros the instant they met. Cloud and Barret's relationship is more complicated because of Cloud's role and identity. It takes Barret a long time to see past that persona, especially when he's only got evidence of that to go on – unlike Tifa. Once he does, he gives Cloud his full support and trust.

I, for one, can’t wait to see how they go forward in Barret’s arc.

ok so, i don't like devin grayson. i don't like her writing at all, i don't think she gets the characters at all, and hot take: if you dislike a character who's super important part of dick's life, and helped him come into his own and be who he is, you shouldn't be writing that character. (i'm talking about kory here, but tbh if you dislike any of the characters who dick interacts with frequently and are a huge part of his life - especially his love interests, and his family - you shouldn't be writing dick.) so i'm not going into this story with high hopes. however i've seen ppl talk about this story as being really good so i hope i'll like it too

this is def some of grayson's better work, but it suffers from the same thing all of her stories do. she doesn't fully understand all the characters. if one character is off it affects the whole story. a lot of her stories have good ideas and poor execution, and this one definitely doesn't have awful execution but there's still something missing and as someone who loves the titans it's just sad. i get why people like this story - it made me tear up at the end ngl - but the rest of the titans are just as important as dick and it feels like the writer doesn't understand that. (i get this is a dick comic but it's still a titans story.) (it does however make me want to write a fic expanding upon this moment and the aftermath bc the idea of the titans all coming together to cheer dick up is so goooooood. are they gonna have a party celebrating dick's parent's lives? are they gonna eat junk food and watch a comfort movie? are they gonna just sit and talk?? the possibilities are endless!!)

the art is gorgeous as all of jimenez' art is, i love his style so freaking much!!

and then you saw the zillow ad for a nice house on a small island called kaos. for the first time in forever, something besides ice caught your attention. it was an impulse decision, and a quick move. she waited until both of her parents were out of the house to have all of her things collected, and just like that, she was gone. vanished. no word as to where she was going other than a note that read ‘see you whenever.’ it’s been six months since then, and she has no plans on leaving kaos anytime soon.

iii. wanted plots !!! im also super duper open to brainstorming things of our own ! these are just ideas !!!

1. the former best friend - this is someone that she spent a good majority of her time with before her mother limited interactions with people. they did everything together, whether it be watching a movie or trying to see how long they can get away with hiding in a grocery store after they close. it’s been nearly four years since they’ve spoken, and this might be one of the only people to bring a genuine reaction out of her.

2. the almost, the maybe, the “there’s something there” - they met recently. or maybe they met awhile ago. could work either way. this person was almost successful in attempting to worm their way into her heart. almost, however, is the key word in that statement. having gone so long without genuine human interaction outside of her sport, she hadn’t realized just how much she had longed for a friend. and then, she suddenly liked them as more then a friend, and that was when ella cut off everything. she’ll never admit it, but the idea of building a connection with someone terrified her.

3. the rival - oh, these two do not like each other. the why is something that can be discussed, but just know that there was some sort of altercation that led to the level of dislike between the two of them. could it possibly change ?? maybe so. i’d actually like to see how that pans out. however, as of right now, the most they do is snipe at one another mercilessly

*:･ﾟ✧ generally speaking, she keeps the same motif as always--- abused by her father for years, eventually snaps and kills him, and then runs off to live on her own in the world despite being HORRIFICALLY unprepared for it. this is no exception, except it’s considerably worse.

backstory:

cypher’s father is not actually her father. she never knew her true parents, and can only remember always being raised by a shitty human she was forced to call father.

cypher is treated as a pet, or a trophy, whichever you feel is more accurate. as dragons/manaketes are rare, she’s often showed off by her father to others, who are often too touchy for her liking, whether in dragon form or not, and often ends up hurting her in some kind of way, which of course makes her react poorly, and thus--- makes punishments worse.

she’s literally raised like a dog. did i mention she’s chained up and muzzled near 24/7? bc she is. despite being a dragon, she’s still young--- and constantly in pain, so escaping or fighting back isn’t a very solid option, nor idea, bc doing so only makes it all the more worse.

she eventually does get pushed to her limits and rebels in a very, very feral way--- unfortunately during one of her “showings” as a dragon. chains finally broke after her years of attempts of escape, and, well, not a pretty sight--- everyone was slaughtered. brutally.

of course, she flees, but unlike her other verses--- she doesn’t regret it a single bit.

eventually someone is kind enough to remove her muzzle for her as it has been on for days and she’d been starving, despite her initial displeasure with the concept of a human being nice to her. should she ever meet them again, they would certainly be treated a bit nicer in comparison to others.

appearance: note: i will draw this all later for a good visual ref

she keeps the usual wild, short pink hair and ocean blue eyes, and body covered in scars.

she has draconic features in human form, as to be expected with me. her forearms and hands, as well as legs below the knees have a scaled texture and are clawed, always. she also has a tail which is always around, as well as cat-like eyes and razor sharp teeth. of course with all manaketes she has the pointed ears, and horns are up for debate whether shown or not.

in dragon form--- tldr she looks like toothless, body wise. head wise is different, but i’ll still end up using toothless as a fc, probably. again, ill draw it later.

as expected, she’s pink. literally everyone expected this. ill leave it to the eventual drawing for details.

the chains around her neck and one of her arms remains, regardless of form. dont ask me how it works, just know it works. when she eventually gets herself a dragonstone, it’s embedded into the chain collar. again, don’t ask how it works.

game related:

recruiting her is incredibly, INCREDIBLY difficult, but it’s possible. it just takes a few attempts. just know she won’t adjust very well at all, but give her the time and i’m sure she will.

im not fantastic with fire emblem, so i wont go in with skills or anything like that--- feel free to suggest stuff, idc. but stat wise, the general gist is that her attack is high, defenses and speed are okay, luck is terrible, and her hp is fucking massive. naturally of course, incredibly weak to things effective on dragons--- falchion especially. for feh? red infantry dragon.

maybe not game related at all, but idk where else to really put it--- she’s fire elemental. guess what color they are! if u thought pink u were WRONG theyre blue just like her eyes.

general/other:

cypher dislikes humans greatly--- and lashes out at them should they get too close, whether it be fatally or not, there will be injury.

as always, do not touch her without her consent. allies or not, there still is very much so the risk of being fatally injured. trauma, man.

she bonds easier with other dragons. it’s not immediate of course, but it’s noticeable.

she’s a very solitary person. when pair up strategies are introduced she’s VERY against it, but will go through with it if necessary.

she purrs! of course she purrs. this is jordyn we’re talking about. if they’re not human in any way, they purr. its law.

as expected, she does not warm up to people easily. it takes A LOT of time and effort, but it IS possible. if she trusts the person enough, they’ll be allowed to touch her in and out of dragon form.

she’s able to push away the curse dragons have of eventual maddening for longer than what’s considered normal--- she was able to go through what she had without going mad then, surely she’s able to push it away out of sheer stubbornness and spite. of course that doesn’t mean she’s immune to it, she definitely can slip into those moments, but she’s more likely to get herself back to normal rather than be consumed by it.

bonus emo bc of that ask: when cypher realizes just how slow she ages compared to the people around her and most importantly her friends--- it really fucks her up. imagine growing up to absolutely despise humans for the way youve been treated, eventually manage to learn to trust them and grow actually positive attachments to them to the point of no longer randomly lashing out at every one you see, only for all that you care for to die right before your eyes while you’re still living strong. it fucks her up so badly, and it gives her a sense of betrayal, enough so that she’d eventually revert to her old ways and live in solitary while being aggressive to any humans who dare approach her.

SPOILER REVIEW OF LORD OF SHADOWS

* This is my second time reading Lord of Shadows

STARTED: 12/01/19 FINISHED: 21/01/19

I have so many feelings, probably too many feelings on this book and I gotta get them off of my chest, holyyyyyy. All I’m saying is that I would sacrifice myself to save the Blackthorn family, they deserve the entire freaking world, I adore this series so much. Honestly one of my favourite series I’ve ever read, it still doesn’t beat TID (Cassie Clare went above and beyond on that trilogy) but its deFINITELY UP THERE. These characters, this plot, everythinggggg about this damn book got me. I have bookmarked and sticky-noted specific parts of the book that hit me right in the feels ( Both gOOD AND BAD EMOTIONS) and here they areeeeee!!

THINGS I LIKED (in particular):

* Christina, Mark and Kieran’s relationship. I was a sucker for Mark and Kieran in lady midnight + was super conflicted about mark falling for christina but woahhhh is it weird to ship them all together?? Lol idc, i still do. They all just fit together, so nicely. Ngl I’m low-key worried about whats going to happen to Kieran, I feel awful for him. Now that he know’s the truth, and he didn’t even testify but he’ still being hunted by the unseelie court, he can’t return to faerie nor can he stay in Idris and he wants things done with Mark. That gets me!!! I love how Christina is able to calm both of these angsty faerie boys ;)

* The low-key (but kinda not even low-key) throwbacks to TID and Will’s generation (JUST ALL OF THE WILL + Jem bits). I love how Clare kept referring to Jessamine in the London Institute, and the small will bits. No character as ever affected me the same way will herondale has, and how Kit was talking about “some idiot called will” who wrote in all the first editions and how Emma was looking at a picture of jem and will together. I feel like i’m dying whenever their relationship is mentioned. When tessa was advising Emma on getting someone to stop loving you, I just realised she was referring to what Will tried to do in TID. :( Alsooo, um how tf is Bridget still alive!!!!!!! She’s actually ancient and I’m confusedddd. When Bridget giggles at the plate of scones + she’s thinking of Sophie and Gideon aw

* Gwyn Ap Nudd! (+ Diana’s relationship) Those two have single-handedly made me believe in love. I love how Gwyn Ap Nudd may be the ancient leader of the wild hunt and yet he’s still a good “man” who shows kindness to Mark, and has honour. I wish everyone was like Gwyn. My favourite part of this freaking book was Gwyn being all cute and shy to Diana when he asks her on a date. Adorable!

* Diana’s back story. She deserves the entire freaking world, I hope she’s able to sort it out with the clave, I don’t want it to be used against her in the future. And I’m so glad she found someone like Gwyn who likes her and doesn’t care that she was born in a man’s body.

* The gayness in this book + the LGBTQ+ representation. We loving raging bisexuals, lesbians, gays, pansexuals + transgender peeps. AND I STAN A WOKE AUTHOR

* Lol all I could think of when kit, ty and livvy went to blackthorn manor was how it was originally the lightwood’s house and thus the worm house. All that was going through my head was HAH ITS THE WORM HOUSE

* Freaking mark + kieran’s language, + post-faerie talk + actions (if that makes sense). Like when Mark was staring distrustfully at the garden gnome, equally parts hilarious and cute

* Emma’s talk, easy-going nature: she reminds me of will lowkey and wow I’M CRYING AGAIN. Her ability to difuse tension in situations and her wit made me enjoy this book so much more. Maybe she even reminds Jem of his parabatai aw.

* TIBERIUS BLACKTHORN AND CHRISTOPHER HERONDALE AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP. THE END

* The poetry that was Julian’s feelings and words towards Emma. It was beautiful, and he’s such a soft boi. Especially when he talked about how they were made from the same stardust, how freaking adorable!!

THINGS I DISLIKED:

* How believable it was that the cohort was plausible and full of facists and bigots, I bloody hated Zara Dearborn (to the point of swearing at my book). Its too realistic that a group like that can exist within the nephilim, and how it can exist in the real world. I read fantasy books to escape reality, and suddenly I feel so attacked by these characters. If I wanted this bullcrap I’d just read the news omg. (how do you make me feel this way cassandra)

* People (namely bridget) being rude to my girl Dru about her weight, she cute and curvy

* Dru lying to Jamie about her age, well not exactly lying but hiding it from him. I kind of just wish she had let him know who she was. I mean I get that she wants to be treated like an older person and not as a baby but ughhhh.

* FREAKING LIVVY DYING OFC AND PUTTING HER LIFE ON THE LINE LIKE THAT. I knew this part was coming and yet I still sobbed and dampened the pages with my freaking tears. I know that it was in Livvy’s nature to stand up and go to help her brother like that, but it doesn’t make it any better. Ty’s reaction as well, after he just agreed to be her parabatai. It was just after their family got reunited also :(. It kills me that to Julian its like he’s lost his own daughter, his baby sister and when he was cradling her and calling out for her to wake up :((((((( But then I think of how Livvy said that legend has it, when the clock chimes the hour the gates of heaven open for a moment. Livvy died when the clock chimed the hour + now I know that she’s up there at peace

* The fact that at the ending, Kit still doesn’t know what’s happened to Livvy, he just thinks something bad has happened in the chamber

* NOW THAT I’M REREADIng I know that Julian thinking about future life watching everyone growing up with Emma by his side is not gonna happen bc livvy is dead and it cuts my heart out at the hope he has that his family will be happy and reunited and safe

* I thought at first that Christina was a pretty boring character, kind of there to be able to patch up the loose ends and hold the team together but in hindsight, she’s pretty freaking incredible and I think this book more so shows that off and her qualities, than Lady Midnight does. It's a freaking talent to be that understanding and empathetic, her ability to do that beyondddd impressed and shook, kind of like how Keiran is feeling about her

* I don’t like hOW MUCH I FEEL sorry for Malcolm, He was so warped and caught up in his love, his need for vengeance, his hate and grief to be able to mourn Annabel, let go of the past and move on. I mean I’d have a pretty tough time doing that too but how his love for her eventually killed him was so awful. I couldn’t believe it the first time I read that part.

* How Annabel killed Robert, his death was like meh at first, okay. But at the same time, Alec’s reaction broke my heart + he was going to help Emma and Julian!! I don’t know if he had the time to start preparing for her exile but probably not and now the next inquisitor probably won’t react the same way

STILL 5/5 OVERALL, I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH.

I’m saying people talk about finn less than ****kylo ren**** because people are generally more interested in the antagonist rather than the good side heroes when it comes to star wars. vader is more popular than just about everyone and the dark side generally gets more attention. idg it because I personally don’t care for the dark side but it’s not **racism** per se, it’s how fandom goes. every time. people care more about loki than thor because loki is the kind of tormented antagonist that interests people and thor is the good guy who doesn’t as much, not because loki has black hair and thor is blonde and no one likes blondes.

I’m also saying that people talk less about poe because he has relatively little screentime in comparison to finn and rey. he was in there for twenty minutes total maybe thirty if we stretch it.

I’m not saying finn doesn’t face racism especially from people who are in fandom but don’t write fanfic or do fanart or whatever and I especially mean those assholes who said you couldn’t have a black lead in SW, I’m saying that when it comes to fandom’s treatment of finn vs kylo or vs poe or vs whoever else a lot of the things that people deem problematic are common to every other fandom in existence and to the type of character finn is. the things I hate most about fanon finn’s characterization are the same things I hate about fanon bucky characterizations, and what do they have in common? they’re two people who come from being employed against their will by the villain side of the story who are actually good people and don’t want to fight for that side and who have gone through types of brainwashing to a different degree (finn because he was brought up to be a stormtrooper without identity and bucky because they literally erased it form him) from people who saw them as weapons and not people. it’s a trope. in a lot of fic where they’re in it, they’re characterized as if they need someone to hold their hand every other moment, which I frankly dislike a lot, and it’s the same for a lot of characters coming from that context. in some cases it can be racism, in others it’s just that finn is that type of character and he’s black, but I’ve been in fandom since 2003 and I saw that way of writing abused characters back then. address that if you think it’s an address-able problem, but it happening to finn has more to do with his background than his skin color. then if you’re talking about other things idk because as stated I stopped engaging other than checking the ao3 finnp0e tag after I read that if you shipped it you were objectifying nonwhite people because I ship people for their relationship, but that was the state of the discourse when I noped out.

The short answer is ‘no’ because....well I suck at theories to be honest with you (really) and I just...I feel like firedrake might be a bit too easy? Though I know that’s a popular theory. I see her more like a force than anything else but that’s not...entirely helpful. WE WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE. 

14) How do you view Rhys’s actions UtM?

Fascinating tbh. I get it and I will stab anyone who calls them ‘abusive’ this kind of details most of my thoughts about it (through a lens of criticising it as abusive but, still, most of it is there.) 

28) Thoughts on Fenrys and Connall?

See my thoughts are kind of confused....to the point that sometimes I wonder whether or not I’ve hallucinated half of EoS but...I’m not sure it’s the healthiest?? We obviously haven’t met Connall yet but..I don’t know I think this dynamic just makes Fenrys even more tragic as a character? I mean, idk the way I read it Connall sort of...worships Maeve. In a similar way to Lorcan except, unlike Lorcan, she let Connall into her bed. Which...when you consider that Fenrys took the blood oath in order to protect his brother..is kinda messed up given the fact his brother seems utterly devoted to her. It’s an interesting dynamic, definitely, but I also don’t think it’s the healthiest thing in the world? Fenrys is trapped in this hellhole, bound to a woman he despises, forced to do her bidding - all to protect his brother from her but his brother embraces her and reveres her. It’s twisted af and I’m..curious to see how it plays out in EoS. 

36) Do you forgive Nesta and Elain for how they treated Feyre?

No. Because I never felt they needed forgiveness in the first place. I’ve ranted about this six thousand times, if I want anything in ACOWAR I’d like maybe acknowledgement and gratitude...not grovelling or apologies or forgiveness. But I was having New Thoughts on it this morning (god help you all) when I saw this message again so...here we are, now you have to suffer them. (This’ll wander for a minute but just bear with me)  

I was actually thinking about Elain/Nesta with regards to Lucien. And I...understand why people assume Nesta would be protective and wary of Lucien and why she might not want him to approach Elain but...I feel like she’d yield depending on what Elain wanted. I think the only time she’d protect Elain would be if Elain was uncertain/didn’t want anything to do with him but if Elain chooses to get to know him/be with him Nesta’s not going to block that. 

Wtf does this have to do with Feyre??? you’re probably asking but...I find it interesting to..compare and contrast things, which you may have noticed, and I started thinking about Nesta/Tamlin (I have no idea why it just happened) I’ve seen people claim that Feyre’s sisters/family were abusive towards her (which was the moment I decided to write to the makers of the English language to demand they did a full recall of that word because :) no) But the fact is that Nesta respects Feyre’s choices, her abilities, her agency and independence to the point that she’s actually envious of them. 

Feyre has Issues with regards to independence and, most importantly, value. She needs to feel like she’s doing something, she has to feel like she’s contributing, she needs purpose (and actually so does Nesta. These two are actually...a hell of a lot more similar than people give them credit for and this dynamic FASCINATES ME OKAY SO SUE ME) 

Point is, Feyre and Nesta understand one another. On a fairly deep level, actually. Can you imagine Feyre being happy if Nesta had tried to coddle her? Tried to tell her that she couldn’t hunt, that she shouldn’t, she should just sit at home and let herself be taken care of? Yeah Feyre’s really good at that, she really excels under those conditions so she does, they do wonders for her mental health and well-being. When Tamlin tried that it worked out SO WELL didn’t it? 

Look, I’m not saying that this was entirely Nesta’s purpose here (or Elain’s) but...certainly from a Nesta/Feyre perspective I think it’s interesting to consider this aspect, this understanding; 

Not me, because Nesta had always known and hated that she andI were two sides of the same coin, and that I could fight my own battles.

These are interesting to consider, (I’ve probably done so before but idc) especially if you flip it on its head and reverse their situations. imagine Nesta did her ‘older sister duty’ (I...dislike this idea but...anyway) Imagine that she was the one who was capable of hunting instead of Feyre, imagine she’d done that, imagine Feyre had been left alone at home all day, every day with the constant knowledge that she was failing her family over and over and over again, that she was nothing but a burden that had to rely on everyone else to take care of her....

I think she’d actually have reacted...very similarly to Nesta.  She resented Tamlin for this after less than three months. She was taken care of, she had everything she wanted, everyone was waiting on her hand and foot, and she had nothing to do, nothing to contribute. She was desperate for that, enough to defy Tamlin and risk his anger several times for the sake of that. And the thing that finally made her snap was Tamlin locking her in the house and refusing to let her go out and do things. 

 Nesta’s lived like that for years. Nesta has in fact, lived like that pretty much her entire life. Her mother died, they lost their fortune, were driven into poverty, her youngest sister was forced to care for them, over and over and over again she’s had this shoved down her throat and I think she hates it. Multiply Feyre’s agony in ACOMAF by five years with the added knowledge of being an older sister and I think Feyre would come out somewhere damn near Nesta in ACOTAR if she’d gone through that. 

...I kinda forgot what the point of this was beyond ‘Feyre and Nesta are actually super similar and it fascinates the ever loving fukc out of me’ OH NO WAIT I DO. I don’t think people pay enough attention to the way Nesta respects her sisters’ and their choices. 

Perhaps she should have paid Feyre more heed, should have shown more gratitude and support (though Nesta’s difficulty verbalising her emotions is...interesting but that’s a meta for another day) But I think she understood her sister and what she needed. (As evidenced in ACOTAR when she tells Feyre that they don’t need her, that she doesn’t have to carry that weight any more, that she can be free. She understands what motivates Feyre, what divides her and upsets her - she just...demonstrates that more through action than anything else. And Feyre ain’t that good with people either but that too is a meta for another day) 

THE ACTUAL POINT is that...I don’t think either sister (I focused on Nesta because....she seems to get the most direct hate on this point) needs to apologise to Feyre...and I don’t think Feyre feels any need to...forgive them either? In saying that I...can’t wait for their scenes in ACOWAR like I need more Archeron sisters scenes more than life itself especially Feyre/Nesta (because what we all need is more content for me to meta on. ahem. anyway) I just...I think that the dynamic between the sisters is a lot richer and more complex than anyone really considers? Everyone just...talks about Feyre forgiving them for what happened but there’s a lot more to it than that, the parallels and the dynamics and the way they work and feel about each other it’s....fascinating. anyway. this concludes my incoherent meta ramble for the day, carry on.

Hi guys! It’s @yaboynez here. I wasn’t going to get into this, mostly because it’s extremely petty and the one person fueling this is slowly cracking and showing everyone their true face, so I don’t think I need to do much before karma comes back around, but I’ll send this in. And according to Natalia, a lot of people talk about me behind my back? If it helps at least one person see the truth, whether it’s about me, or someone else involved, then that’ll make me happy.

I never forced myself into any argument between Hunter and Lars. I have my opinions on them, and usually they’re valid ones (like how hypocritical it is for one trans person to misgender another trans person and then expect people to respect their decision and NOT misgender them– and then lie about ever doing it). I don’t really know where I forced myself into their arguments, but trust me when I didn’t want jack shit to do with it. I think they should have stayed out of each others’ lives. I actually find it funny that Hunter spent all that time trashing Lars and actively going out of his way to continue to slander someone’s name, just to end up with them again. I don’t think you would talk so badly of someone if you truly cared about them. I know Lars has done bad things but damn? DAMN. How do you go from misgendering someone and trying to get everyone to dislike a person, to dating them again and defending them when someone brings up a small altercation with them? It’s just weird to me, that anyone would put so much effort into hating someone and trying to get others to hate a person that they would just go back. Like that. I don’t really care if there’s proof of me somehow forcing myself into any arguments, because I’m 100% sure I never did that.

I don’t need to know the full story to have my opinion. In the three or so months now? Maybe? That I’ve known Lars, there have been ups and downs. He’s definitely done things ic and ooc that made me want to be done with him, shit I didn’t want to put up. I had a lot of heated arguments with him where I felt more assholish than I honestly think I should have been, where I repeatedly told him we wouldn’t ship, moments where I told him I didn’t even want to be friends ooc anymore. But the thing about Lars is, he usually comes back and realizes that he’s done something wrong. And when he does, he seems genuine in wanting to make things better. During this time, he’s made improvements with me, how he acts around me, with some minor hiccups here and there. But it’s not as bad as it was that first month. In all the time that I’ve known him, I haven’t seen him be all that malicious either. I think he’s told me not to trust Natalia, and hell maybe he even said not to trust Hunter at some point? But those conversations were brief and more of a “hey friend, I care about you so I feel like you shouldn’t trust them”.

In the month or so? Maybe a little more than that, that I’ve known him, I’ve seen more bad things about Hunter than anything else. Before even meeting him all I knew about him was that he continuously talked shit about Lars. Which I didn’t judge him for initially because based on what I’d heard, they hat a tumultuous relationship that definitely went sour and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. And upon meeting him I had no real qualms, he seemed okay. We didn’t really talk until his muse, Tem, gave Eumae a second chance to try things with him. It was after that when we got close. Our muses started to talk to each other and there was an instant connection, too great to ignore. Hours after the movie we watched together, Hunter expressed to me that he didn’t actually want to ship with Natalia anymore and that he was guilted into it by her. He said his muse no longer had the desire to be faithful to her, which was evident in what happened on rabbit. I struggled knowing this information, because I wanted to talk to Natalia, but I didn’t want to be the bearer of bad news. I just tried my best to tell Hunter that he should be honest about it with her. I don’t think he was until shit hit the fan that she found out though, or maybe he told her and that’s why everything melted down the way it did. But I may have been the one who ended up saying honestly. Who knows, I don’t know what was said between them that day.

Hunter has shown me that he’s two-faced in the way he treated Natalia, who he has already crawled back to. Something he claims of me for what I said to him about Natalia. I’m sorry I didn’t word everything the exact same way the multiple times I spoke to her, but that doesn’t mean I hid anything from her? I may not have said it all right away, but I definitely had multiple conversations where I showed Natalia I was discontent with her and all the reasons why, if not all at once then over time.

Because honestly talking to Natalia about anything unpleasant with her is really hard, she’s not… it’s hard to talk to her earnestly about my feelings when I know that she’s going to be cold and distant and not really care about it. I have expressed my main points to her but even the times where I said I was going to explain everything from the start I chickened out because I didn’t want to have her look me dead in the eyes and be like yeah idc I’m not sorry. But, she knew the gist of how I felt, even if I didn’t go into detail. I guess I should have, then none of this would have happened and there would have been no reason for any of this to have happened today.

I find it funny that I’m being called a hypocrite too, because here’s the thing. Hunter decided to not trust me and ship with me, because of the negative things I said about Natalia while she spoke negatively of me and basically told me to fuck off and I found out everyone elses’ stories about what went down with her. Things I had every right to say, things that anyone in that situation might say when they find out their best friend has possibly lied to their face about everything just about. I was pissed and hurt and angy that I spent so much defending someone who would just straight up go behind my back like that. He didn’t trust me because he was afraid I would talk behind his back. Yet– he was talking… behind my back… to his friends? He shaded me on the TL and his friends all replied knowing EXACTLY what it was about ?? On top of that, he’s talked mad shit about Lars behind his back, yet took him back. However, me saying negative things because Natalia had hurt me and I felt like I was seeing her in a new light, but then the idea of me and her suddenly going back to normal and being friends, is enough for him to worry and stop talking to me. Hunter actually made an assumption at that point, because when I posted asking for someone to get her to message me, we weren’t okay yet. I wanted to finish the conversation we had. I wanted to know where she and I stood, if we were going to work things out.

And the thing is it never really became okay. This whole time I’ve felt extremely negative feelings towards her because of her hypocritical actions and knowing she went behind my back to talk shit just made it even worse.

As for emotionally manipulating and invalidating feelings? This is really funny because at least one of these asks is Hunter, and the other one might be Natalia. Hunter seems to have sent the one about invalidating feelings, which is really funny. It hadn’t even been a week yet but we saw each other basically every day. We spoke pretty much the whole time he was here, whenever he was here. We watched a lot of rom coms together and plotted shit. It was a lot of fun. Our muses were supposed to go on a date one night and I made sure I had time for it. But he didn’t show up that night. He wasn’t there when I went to bed. I think he was gone for over 24 hours and at this point I was a little worried because it wasn’t like him to disappear that long, or at least as far as I knew. My concern had more to do with hoping he was okay and not that he hadn’t shown up. When he did finally show up, he said something but I don’t remember what it was at this point, nothing memorable. I was just happy to see him again and know he was okay. I think he sort of explained that he was exhausted or something, but it wasn’t anything major.

The next couple of days, he was there around his usual times, but when he was, he wouldn’t answer any of our chats, not the ic ones or the ooc one, illit or lit. He wouldn’t respond to anything I mentioned him in, even the cute things. He wouldn’t talk to me even if we were both on the tl posting and talking to our friends. I was busy around this time so I didn’t spend a whole time looking at the ACTUAL TL, just my notifications and going to certain twitters to check up on certain people. The next couple of days, that’s how I found out he had actually been online for a good while talking to the rest of his friends. The first time I said anything his excuse was not always being in the mood to talk or being spaced out, not noticing things, etc. I was like okay cool I’ll just try hard to get your attention when it’s just you spacing out or whatever. No biggie. The way he spoke to me was a little ?? I don’t know, it’s like he was telling me to shut up I’m being unreasonable or something. It was the second time I think he mentioned his disease or whatever that basically means he’s in pain all the time, and sometimes it’s too bad to reply. So at this point I was like OHHHHH WOW OKAY I GOT YOU, THANKS FOR TELLING ME !!! Having him actually be fully honest and tell me why he may not be here or reply to dms or some shit, that made sense. I understand. My mom has fibromyalgia and I don’t know what my deal is, maybe I just work too much, but I’m in constant pain and forever exhausted, so it’s not like I was going to be like IDC REPLY TO ME.

My issue though is how he would say he couldn’t keep track of things because he spaced out or was in pain, but with his other friends he seemed to do just fine? Still I bit my tongue because Hunter had already sort of made me feel bad for wondering why he wouldn’t talk to me. I feel like if your muse is interested in another muse, and supposedly dating, that probably means when you’re around, you’re gonna want to them talk right? Like I’m not crazy in thinking that? Because why would your muse be involved with someone you don’t feel like speaking to when you get here? But he always found a way to invalidate my feelings so I never spoke about it much. If something was going on he had some excuse for it, and even though he didn’t want sympathy for his disease he sure liked to use it as an excuse for why he didn’t notice me anywhere despite talking to others.

I haven’t done anything to be emotionally manipulative to anyone, and it’s really frustrating that I have to be called all of these things when all I’ve wanted to do the last few months is rebuild my muse’s life after dealing with shitty person after shitty person. I just got him to the point of letting go what his ex and ex best friend did to him, which took way longer than it should have honestly. All I want is for my muse to be happy and have good friends and be around good people. And it’s fucking annoying that I have to be in this situation.

The good thing in all of this, that makes me feel better, is no one has turned on me beyond Hunter and Natalia. At least, not that I know of. Not the friends I speak to regularly. I think they all see the truth here. I have neve been perfect. I have fucked up and did bad things, I’ve tried my best to make up for them despite some people not wanting any of that. My muse is extremely emotional and can be petty, and it affects me too, often times. I’ve done things that might be hypocritical, yes, but it’s nothing I won’t own up to. And a lot of people are seeing that even though I have my issues, I’m doing my best to work on them. I’ve gotten really far in the last few months and I’m proud of myself because I’m finally salvaging a muse I love dearly, instead of letting toxic people ruin him for me.

Anyone who takes the time to really get to know me or my muse, knows how kind and giving I am. I’ve offered so many times to pay for people to see doctors, I’ve offered to pay bills, I’ve sent people gifts for their birthdays spent 80 bucks on them to never see a dime or even really hear from them for long afterwards. If someone here was suddenly homeless and needed a roof over their head I would come and help them if I could. I was raised in the midwest/south, in the city but with a country mentality where no one’s a stranger and everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves. I have done my best to make sure both myself and my muse are very transparent, as is probably the most important thing when having a very flirtacious muse where a lot of other muses can get their feelings involved. I have done my best to make sure that nothing I say is a lie, to look at everyone and make my own opinions of them despite how much everyone likes to try and convince you otherwise. I have made as much as an effort as I can to talk to the people who seem lonely because I know how they feel and I want them to have a friend. I think that despite the flaws I still have, my kindness shows and so does my sincerity. Things that aren’t very valued here by many, which is okay.

I don’t care what anyone thinks. If people want to believe the shit that’s going to be flying from someone’s mouth from here on out, that’s okay. If you’re the type of person to let others make your opinions then I’m better off. The thing is I’m done letting people walk all over me and tell me who I am and what I feel, or how I should express how I feel. I think that in the end people are going to see everyone for who they really are, and while I’ve made a fool out of myself and definitely been in the wrong before, that doesn’t change my true colors. But for some of you time is running out and more people are seeing it every day.

Hunter, move on with your life. You already have so much shit to deal with, your ooc life isn’t something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy and I sincerely feel like you could spend your time doing something more pleasant. You don’t trust me, okay whatever, so move on. I just hope from now on you’re more honest with people, and that you treat people you love with the kind of respect they deserve. And if someone isn’t good to you, you should move the fuck on and find someone who does. Karma tends to take care of everyone who deserves it, so keep that in mind and focus on doing you instead of being shady about others. If you want people to be sympathetic about how much you were abused in your relationship supposedly, then don’t abuse others in return. Being abused does not give you the right to be abusive in return, it just puts you on the same level as your abuser, and the people who support you won’t be so quick to do it anymore when the truth comes out and they see the things you’ve done. I wouldn’t call you out if I didn’t know personally some of the things you’ve done, based on my own experience I hadn’t even shared yet. But to hear the same thing coming from someone else’s mouth, that really set it in stone for me.
