worldbuilding question: one of my OCs, Terry Cephałysiak, is from Anenomemeland (Splatoon version of Lithuania). Do you think Balkanization (basically the idea of a kingdom or nation becoming too large and needing to divide itself) is possible in the Mollusk Era? I say this because you mentioned that there are 20 countries, but I don't think there are ONLY 20 of them.

yeah no I never said there's only 20 countries, it's that there are at least 20.

the mollusk era roughly mirrors human history so I don't see why not

the answer for "could this thing or concept that exists in our society reasonably happen or exist in the splatoon world in some way" 99.9% of the time the answer is yes they got a a whole giant planet and thousands of years of history too a lot of shit happens.

any niche job you can think of, any political system, horrific crime, genre of movie or music, kinds of cuisine (minus anything that uses mammal products and even that has substitutes) could reasonably exist or have existed in the splatoon world in some way or at some point
