Norn9: Last Era Part 3 - Senri Ichinose Route

I'm not the biggest fan of Senri but I do understand his feelings of not feeling like he's on the "same level" as all the espers around him so he chooses to hole himself up in his room. Honestly, I never realised that Senri was actually doing his job but just at times when no one was there. He tended to the fields and did chores when everyone was asleep! He's really such a good boy that just can't bear being with people huh? Honestly, I'm always so touched when Koharu says she's fine with starting from the beginning again with Senri (him hiding in his room and refusing to come out for days) because she wants to be friends with him and go at a pace he is comfortable with. It's cute how no one can resist Koharu's sad face, they always give in to her haha. It was difficult to watch from Senri's perspective how much he hurt himself and Koharu with his words saying that he wish he had Koharu's power, something useful and that will help people. It's like yeah, he didn't know what she did and stuff and what exactly what she went through, but it felt pretty saddening that he thought of it from his desire to be more useful and yet he hurt her because she hates these "useful" powers. I always find it so saddening that Senri had to endure the abuse from those villagers calling him useless for not being able to produce more water, and so in order to protect himself, it was easier for him to accept that he truly was useless. Anyway, I really didn't like the end of Senri's route especially with love stopping Koharu from mass murder part so I'm glad that from Senri's perspective, it was quite short so now we can fully enjoy the rest!

Considering that alot of the routes ended with the pair leaving the Norn, it's kinda refreshing to see here that Senri is with everyone and they've all decided to destroy every weapon in existence whether it be from The World or not to prevent wars. Something very interesting is that Ron is still on the ship after "reconciling their differences". I'm very curious about how that happened lol. It's funny to see Ron relaying messages back and forth between them and Natsuhiko when he's got a terrible memory lol. It's nice to see Senri willingly and happily eating with everyone. Senri and Koharu dipping their feet in the water and enjoying time alone together is so cute. I wonder what happened between Itsuki and Masamune's uncle, enough that Itsuki wants to leave the ship because of him being there. I feel bad for Mikoto though, he just randomly asked her to leave with him without any reason or context and wanted her to go along with it. I didn't think we'd encounter Senri's village.. Senri is very strong to even think about going back to face his past, because I definitely wouldn't want to go back. I have to agree with Akito, I wouldn't let Senri go back either if I could stop him. He definitely didn't go about it in the best way but I can understand why Akito is desperate to stop him from going. It was pretty funny when Nanami said Akito was sulking because he said awful things to Senri hahaha. I know it's naive, but hearing Koharu say she would like to face dangers together and that even if they get hurt, as long as they walk together and go through it together then they can become better versions of themselves made me want to cry. Akito wants to protect Senri from pain, but Senri and Koharu want to move forward and become stronger versions of themselves by facing things they don't always want to. It's tough..

Lmao when Nanami said Akito's a baby and it's his bedtime now to get Koharu to leave🤣🤣 I don't know whether I should feel relieved or disgusted that the villagers are still the same terrible people they were back in the day. The villager blaming Senri for them having to move is so ridiculous. I would like Koharu to just raze this village, I have no sympathy for them regardless of how dire their circumstances are. To preface this, I am usually not one to skip voiced lines but I absolutely could not take how disgusting the Village Chief (who is Senri's grandpa! Ridiculous) and the villagers are to demonise Akito's actions and say he was using Senri for his own gain when they tried to kill Akito and forced him to run away. I just couldn't stop crying for Akito because he was powerless to save Senri and was forced to leave him in this village by himself, I can't imagine the guilt he feels for leaving Senri when he had no choice. I really can't blame Senri for feeling so confused and thinking that maybe Akito did use him like they said because Akito feels too much guilt to say these "excuses" but Senri really needs to know. I just feel so bad for Senri that everything was dumped on him all at the same time, the fact that he has a brother and that it was Akito all this time, that his memories were erased and that it was Nanami who did it, that's just way too much for him to digest especially when he just started getting comfortable with people again. My heart breaks for these two brothers.

It made me really happy to know that Senri actually only said he'd go back to the village because he wants to push Akito to do something. I'm so glad, because I thought it was nonsense for him to want to go back to such a terrible place that has no future because they destroyed themselves by constantly mining and destroying the area. It really warmed my heart to hear Senri say that even without his memories, he felt like he always yearned for warmth because he most likely knew of warmth. Even if he doesn't have his memories, Akito's existence affected him too much to completely forget him. Lmaoo I love how Senri doubts Akito's love for him because he doesn't show it, but Senri just says he wants to eat sweets from that stall made by Akito, and then Akito goes and asks for tips and the recipe, he's such a good brother🤣 I was so proud of Senri when he said he didn't need a device or anything to show him his past to clear the misunderstanding. All he needs is to hear the truth from Akito and I totally agree! I'm glad Senri stopped Koharu from getting lured in by the World to help the brothers by sacrificing herself to get the device. Akito crying uncontrollably because Senri called him brother just made me so happy for them😭😭 Akito finally had the courage to tell him everything and Senri was able to tell him that even without his past, he considers Akito his beloved brother😭😭 It was so good, and I loved how both Nanami and Koharu supported their respective partners throughout all this. They really will be the best sister-in-laws haha!

Koharu dreaming about a lazy child Senri is so funny hahahah. LOL I died at Senri's dying message saying 'Yuiga'😂😂 When Nanami said they were going through milk really fast, it was obvious that Senri wanted to grow taller but it was still cute how he ate alot and exercised alot hoping to be as tall as Akito hahaha. Senri has really matured. Not only is he capable of using his water magic better after training his body and having the other half of his powers returned, he is also strong enough to tell Koharu that what he wants to know is what she wants to do with her powers rather than what she is scared of happening with her powers. I always thought of Koharu's actions back in the original route silly especially when Senri was able to just stop her like that, but when Senri acknowledged that her actions were wrong but that he'll always be on her side because she was taken advantage of and thought she was doing what was right, I felt really happy for Koharu. Senri is willing to right her wrongs beside her and to help support her in believing in herself and making decisions for herself from now on rather than relying on others, it just felt so beautiful to see. Awww! Senri and Koharu's matching costumes for their performance are so adorable!! It was so sweet to see a water dragon and fire dragon with their powers, and I love how the game put in effort for some effects! I love how they both supported each other to get the results of their hard work in this performance, it was only because they both worked hard to overcome their respective fears that it was able to culminate in a beautiful performance that everyone enjoyed.

LMAO at Koharu's dream in the epilogue, I love the voice they did for the Senri who had a growth spurt, legit terrifying😂😂 I honestly didn't expect Senri and Koharu to continue their performances as a way of living and I think it's kinda random but I guess it's cute. I'm sad that even though they're basically living together and sharing the same room, they didn't even really get a kiss CG?! Poor Senri lol! Overall, I definitely enjoyed Senri's route much more than expected as well. Moonlight was exactly what I wanted from the original route and I absolutely love how Senri and Akito were able to reunite and tell each other their thoughts and feelings. It took time, it took them arguing, it took them being awkward but they got there and I loved that. The best thing was seeing Nanami and Koharu both support Akito and Senri respectively so that as they tried their best to express themselves, their respective partners were able to cheer them both on and also give them comfort when needed. I loved watching over them all doing their best. I also really enjoyed seeing more of Senri's assertive side protecting Koharu and then supporting her as she overcame her fears of her powers. Seeing him accept her powers for what they are and instead of putting out her fire, he built upon it and created such a beautiful visual performance with their powers just made me so happy to see their growth visualised in those dragons they were able to create. I love how they are both unafraid to keep improving as people and facing their fears to grow as people because they have each other by their sides and it's sweet to see them constantly support each other. I kinda wished the romance was more romantic but I really can't fault the route when the character growth was so beautiful, especially for Senri.

Since I’m sad that otome games don’t have English dubs when they get realeased in the west, I’ve decided to do English fan casts to alleviate the pain. (I get that they’re a niche genre, but let me have this)

Code Realize, Hakuoki, and Amnesia will have the same voice actors from their English dubs. One of the exception is Toma, since his voice actor is unfortunately dead. I would replace Toma’s voice actor with Mike Haimoto. Another exception is Sanosuke Harada’s voice actor since he’s been blacklisted and arrested due to grooming a 16 year old and marrying her in 2014. He’s already been replaced by Phil Hayes in the Hakuoki movies, so he’ll stay.

I’m not doing Collar X Malice at the moment since it’s getting a movie adaptation this year, and (hopefully) it will inevitably get an English dub. If it doesn’t, then I’ll do it on the future. 

The heroines are all voiced in English as well because I say so lol.

om HECK YEAH I was hoping I’d get some Norn9 requests at some point! I decided to write for my fav boys from each heroine, but if you have a specific boy you wanna hear about later let me know.

Heishi Otomaru:

Heishi really likes stuffed animals. Even though he’s an adult, he finds sleeping with a teddy bear comforting. My specific headcanon is that when he was abandoned, he had a teddy bear from his childhood that he slept with every night, and since then its become a habit to sleep with one.

Sometimes Heishi wonders if he deserves to be happy and experiences anxiety / depression. He struggles with feeling like he’s not good enough and needs reassurance; he refuses to directly ask for that reassurance because he also doesn’t want to be a bother, but it spills over and he projects it with his telepathy. Give him a hug and remind him you love him!

The first time he tried drinking beer, he thought it tasted so disgusting that he was convinced it was expired / gone bad. 

His hair is SO soft!! Heishi has very petable hair and if he rests his head on your lap you are required to run your fingers through it. He might also jokingly purr, especially if it makes you blush for him to do that.

His laugh is really dorky sounding when he’s laughing wholeheartedly. He’d absolutely snort while he laughs, I think. 

Bonus smut headcanon: Of course, being known to leak out his thoughts to others when he gets too emotional, he very much has a struggle with keeping his intimate thoughts to himself when he’s around someone he likes. He probably leaks out his desire before he would even dare say it out loud.

Senri Ichinose:

As children, Senri was the type of kid that wanted to always be with his brother Akito. He’d grab Akito’s shirt sleeve and walk along behind him everywhere he went and wanted to be just like him when he grew up.

His pessimistic attitude is unfortunately very apparent when he talks about himself. If Senri were asked to describe himself, all of the words to pop into his head would be negative. Which, in turn, is why an optomistic partner or at least one who looks on the bright side for his sake is best suited to Senri (such as Koharu).

He really does appreciate beautiful things despite his pessimism though. Its not something Senri would generally say aloud but he likes the beauty of nature, especially creatures and life within the ocean.

If his partner likes wearing jewelry he’d give them a necklace with a seashell on it!

Please give this boy a hug. Once you manage to get a hug from him, he’ll become more touchy and want to hug you a lot.

Akito once told him he’d look cute in a dress. Senri never wore one but the thought stuck in his head - even after memory wipe - so while he’d take a lot of convincing to actually do it, he is genuinely curious about it.

Sakuya Nijou:

If he does not end up with Mikoto, convincing him to enter a romantic relationship with someone will be VERY difficult - but I don’t believe its impossible. He’s got a lot of baggage and takes his bond and promise with Mikoto very seriously, so he needs a patient suitor that will be willing to help with that... and who accepts that at least for the time being, they will be second in priority to Mikoto.

When his guard is down with someone for a bit, he relaxes, but quickly goes on guard again if he begins having feelings for that person. Sakuya will put distance between himself and anyone he begins to like.

When he finally lets down those walls entirely and accepts loving someone, he’s devoted and loyal beyond belief. A gentleman to everyone, but to you he will devote all his intimate gestures and affection.

He’ll want you to be close friends with Mikoto, though! It would make him smile to see you get along well with her and be a good friend to her.

If Sakuya tragically does die protecting you... in her grief, Mikoto will vow never to forgive you, even if she knows its irrational to blame you.

Sakuya would be open to a polyamory relationship with you and Mikoto as well if you both consented to it. 

But, even though that’s an option, over time he will come to devote entirely to you if its what you want, and Mikoto will stay a special part of his heart, but not one that has a hold on him.

Bonus smut headcanon: Sakuya is a gentle lover, with generally vanilla interests. He is the guy who’ll want to go slow with foreplay and spend a lot of time kissing and touching before the act begins.

Norn9: Var Commons Part 4 - Senri Ichinose Route

Senri is definitely the least interesting for me as a LI especially since he's rather young too (in terms of looks), but he can be pretty funny (and sad) so let's see how it goes! Koharu seems to be finding it difficult to communicate with him, which is understandable since she wants to respect his boundaries but at the same time she wants to get to know him better so she doesn't know when she should try her best to hang/talk with him and when she should leave him alone. Even though I agree that Senri shouldn't stay in his room forever, it is true that Heishi and Kakeru can go a bit overboard. I like how Koharu feels like she can't leave Senri alone because she knows very well how it feels to be all alone by yourself. Even if it's going to be a long journey, getting Senri to eat the cookies Koharu made for him is already quite an improvement! Awww, Senri asking Koharu if she'll make the cookies for him again, and then the two of them sharing a blanket and sleeping together was so cute!! It's actually hilarious that out of all the guys, Senri is the one falling asleep until morning in a girl's room!! Scandalous!! I can't imagine what the other guys are going to be like once they find out🫢

I think it was really sweet for Koharu to tell Kakeru that it was okay if Senri went back to square one (staying in his room for days) because they shouldn't force him and that Senri himself should decide where he wants to start. I understand that Kakeru in his own way wants Senri to not waste away his life cooped up in his room, but not everyone is strong enough to cope with being forced to be amongst people everyday. Ooh Senri's powers are related to water too? Senri and Koharu carrying the vegetables they harvested together was cute. Sure, Senri isn't very strong and he's probably not the most reliable, but that's not important when it comes to being friends with someone. As long as you want to be friends with them and enjoy their company, that's enough. I liked seeing Koharu and Senri fix the door and even amassing the courage to ask Akito for help and even thanking him! Akito blushing is always so adorable. I know that Koharu is apparently the least popular heroine out of the three, but I honestly love her. She naturally just makes you want to protect her and you can't help but soften up to her because of how sincerely she cares and loves other people, and she's very honest about it too! I was so glad to see Senri stand up for himself against Kakeru who he's so scared of, it was also great to finally see Kakeru acknowledge that maybe he's gone too far, I think he was surprised at how much Senri has changed because of Koharu too. Okay, I didn't expect the head pat CG from Masamune and now I am smitten🫢 Otherwise, Senri trying to take Koharu away from Masamune was adorable haha. Even though I can't feel the romance between Senri and Koharu, I like how Koharu is facing the "ugly feelings" that come with love such as jealousy. She's always been very naive and pure, so I think it's good for her to understand different things she's never experienced before. It's actually cute how Senri gave up on trying to get Koharu to understand how he likes her and how much he likes her through words, so he kissed her instead haha. On her cheek?! I thought it was on the lips! Guess that's too much for Senri hahaha.

Kakeru's dad built The World? How very amusing. Is he trying to incite war to make them choose to do the Reset? My heart melted when Senri cried in relief after seeing Koharu again since she was missing though, that was very very sweet and cute. Honestly, it's difficult for me to side with one side especially with so limited information. I don't blame Koharu for listening to Kakeru's dad and saving those people because she trusted him and she didn't want to see those people die. In addition, whether the national army is correct or the Liberation Army is correct isn't something that can be so easily decided. Mikoto's reasons for siding with the national army are quite superficial at most considering they just came here, just because the National Army is basically the government and losing doesn't necessarily mean they're the ones in the right. But what I do dislike is the fact that their powers are capable of completely turning the tides of war determining who will win or not but as with the other routes when they choose to do the Reset or not, I never feel like they ever truly give these things as much thought as they should.

Anyway, I just feel bad for Koharu, she's already confused enough as a person and now she's been dragged into this. This is probably scandalous but I kinda wish there was a route for Kakeru's dad hahaha, that would be interesting. Anyway, so both Masamune and Natsuhiko grew up together on that island? I always wondered why Senri had the power of water when Akito had it, but I see, for some reason Aion split it into two. Okay, I blame Koharu for really thinking it's okay to burn down a whole country though lol. Anyway, I feel like the ending was quite silly because I have no idea why it was so easy for Koharu to just follow Senri home, like girl, you were ready to burn a whole country down and suddenly you're just like whatever? This is why you shouldn't give such powers to young silly people. Otherwise, I'm really happy Senri remembered to carve little rabbits for Koharu. The tragic love ending was interesting I guess but I was pretty whatever with it just because I feel like the whole thing is kinda dumb lol, I think it would have been better off if they explored Koharu's guilt and indecision towards what it means to help both sides in war. The short story was rather cute but I feel like I would have preferred the whole thing to be her learning how to swim from Senri, I think that would have been cuter, but yeah lmao at Natsuhiko of all people teaching Koharu how to swim, and telling her it'll be the end of her if her arm isn't at the right angle😂

Overall, as expected, I didn't really like Senri's route but the funny thing is, they were able to make it even worse with Koharu being silly! I mean, at first it was understandable but then it just became dumb when she was ready to destroy a whole country but backed out just because Senri came along to stop her, I found it rather fickle and it definitely made me think yeah, teenagers really shouldn't have these destructive powers, like can you reconsider, Aion? Lol. Otherwise, Senri was cute. I still don't think he matches with Koharu but I did enjoy how they would do stuff like wake each other up but I think my favourite moment was when Koharu stood up for Senri needing his own privacy, and that if he were to become a shut-in again, then she'll just start again from that stage to get to know him and try to get him out of his room, I found that very sweet. And I also really liked how they fixed his door together and she got him to have the courage to ask Akito for help. I think it was really nice to see Senri understand how integral other people are in life even if it can be difficult to interact with others. But yeah, I'm kinda sad that we basically know nothing about his story and his past though? And what happened to Kakeru's dad after Koharu just..left? Lol. I think the route was lacking impact I guess. Many unanswered questions but still cute?
