They're back in the first place they met. The cliff beside Istol's cottage. Iain knows this is where he wants to kiss them, but he's so nervous. They spend the evening stargazing, and Istol shows them different constellations. Iain is pretty sure they all look the same, but watching his crush be so enthusiastic about them was too adorable.

Istol starts spiraling out about nerdy shit and the probability of dying and never being found due to living up in the mountains.

In that moment, Iain finally musters up the courage to kiss them. Maybe to shut them up, but mostly because he remembered why he was so smitten by this silly, nerdy, anxious, intelligent, beautiful boi.

Istol was pleasantly surprised and admitted they felt the same way.

They spent the rest of the evening talking, enjoying the night air, and then falling asleep next to each other once they went back inside.

He hasn't yet, but my personal headcanon for when Iain finally asks Istol out on an official date is that Istol has no idea how to dress so they just wear fancy stuff they wore at dinners with their family and Iain brings Istol a nice gift, but it's just a cool rock he found.

I'm literally so obsessed with these two it's not even funny.

I have a feeling Iain is going to finally admit his feelings soon instead of just playfully flirting. The job they went to do together is over and now they're headed back to where Istol lives. Originally they would have just parted ways once back and paid for the job, but Iain didn't think he'd fall in love with this nerdy boi he met.

Iain is just a traveler who picks up odd jobs on his adventuring, but Istol has a stable home and job where they live so not sure what's going to happen next. <3
