The alarm continued to blare and pierce your ears and you winced slightly. Sero walked towards the door, pulling the electronic pin pad out and rewiring it. He reset the password and he wasn’t going to let anybody else break into the office again. While simultaneously fixing the door, Sero pulled his phone out from his pocket and with a push of a single button on his screen, the alarm ceased immediately.

Just as the alarm stopped, with its remnants still ringing in your ears, you realized how fast your heart was beating. The gravity of the situation hit you in that moment and you felt like you were going to collapse to the floor. Unknown had been targeting M.F.A. for three days straight and had finally targeted the office for who knows the reason. “Should we evacuate? You said there was a bomb that was about to go off,” you asked, your tone full of worry.

Sero stopped speaking immediately, pursing his lips together as if he was about to say something he shouldn’t. “I lied to get… that guy out of here. It was just a fake alarm. There’s no bomb.”

Sero’s sentences felt short and to the point, sounding like a robot that was programmed to say these things. 

Despite not being able to fully grasp the situation, you took notice of Sero's hand that was shaking from how tightly he was gripping his phone. You moved towards him. “Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?”

He immediately took a step back, causing you to stop in your tracks. “I’m okay. Don’t worry about it.” He turned around, looking up to the lofted second floor of the office and he began to ascend up the stairs. 

“I’m going to work on fixing the security system up here. I don’t want you to get hurt so I need to make sure no one else can break into the office again.”

You nodded, watching as he sat by your desk and pulled out a computer from a backpack that you hadn’t noticed previously. “Let me know if you need any help.”

“There’s nothing you can help with,” Sero said curtly in a manner that made you flinch. “Just focus on the party.” 

“O-Okay,” you stuttered due to the harshness in his voice. 

Sero began working immediately, typing away at a speed that you didn’t think was humanly possible. He stopped momentarily. “Don’t tell the others what happened.”

personally i think mirabelle and loop could have a little fake dating situation at some point. mirabelle's the savior AND shes pretty AND shes nice. everyone loves her. but it makes her really really uncomfortable to be flirted with, ESPECIALLY by strangers. but on the other hand we've got loop, who's Always going to be sticking out like a sore thumb.

so, post-canon but Before mirabelle's had her aro realization, she's venting about getting bothered by creepy strangers, and she offhandedly mentions a scene from one of her books- a fake relationship with a monster, who protected the protagonist from rival monsters (...thinly veiled omegaverse or werewolf romance fake dating dating trope that i've seen quite a lot). loop has a lightbulb moment where the tiny siffrin (quite a large siffrin, actually- not that they'd want to admit that) in their brain is like. 'wait oh my stars could i actually??? help?? here?? i'm in the perfect situation to help the housemaiden??? like for realsies?? i can be useful?? finally, one good thing my monstrous and sickening inhumanity can do!' and theyre like. "well, housemaiden, perhaps i can help! one inhuman being, at your service!" and offers to fake date her at events to scare people away.

and mirabelles like. look. if this were anybody else id be like ew. but you are: 1.) my friend. my bestie 2.) SO fucking cool 3.) probably better at dealing with this than anyone else would be 4.) abrasive enough 5.) possessing a certain "scary dog privilege", akin to blorbeaux from my books

so they give it a try at an event and working together to turn it from "EW IM BEING HIT ON EW EW EW EW" to "oh lets get Funny with it". mutual benefit. they both get enrichment AND mirabelle gets to be left alone. loop gets to feel like they have a reason to be present (rather than just a horrific shadow in the corner of the room). yes, they're still a monster, they scare people away, but it's Useful and theyre Helping and theyre having fun fucking with people in a more genuine way rather than just in a lashing-out way. they're having fun! loop gets to see mirabelle having fun at a party instead of constantly wincing away from strangers flirting with her!

but. after a while of doing this, mirabelle Thinks About It. and is like. well, in the books, when they do this, it eventually leads to Real Romance. shes like well. thats how the trope goes. maybe itll be good for me. maybe ill come out of this a Better Person when we inevitably slip into (throws up in mouth) Real Fake Dating.

and. she doesnt know shes aro yet. so shes going into this gritting her teeth like "its just like blorbeaux from my books its just like blorbeaux from my books. theyre a monster (SORRY LOOP), so its cool! its awesome even! they don't even have genitals! they're alien enough that i'd never have to... do That with them, right? so everything's alright! i should be fine! i shouldn't mind too much!" and then shes like dreading the inevitable plottwist of "ohhh i loved you all along lets be together for realsies".

• you mostly do the cleaning/up keeping, Izuku does laundry and trash (substitute cook for when Kats can't), Katsuki cooks and pays for everything. Bills, outings, dates, groceries, needs, wants, everything.

• but you all will keep up for each other even if you aren't supposed to take the trash out, you'll do it bc Izuku forgot or was running late and that's ok! They do the same for u! You all very heavily believe in being a team together not against each other.

• usually you and Izuku go grocery shopping but sometimes (rare occasions) Katsuki comes along or goes instead of Izuku if he can't or is busy with sum else.

• Katsuki has gotten better at showing affection, physically, anyways. He'll willingly cuddle into one of you guys more, give y'all kisses randomly and especially when its less expected and at night he's clingier.

• I think he js feels extremely safe with you two, honestly.

• Izuku is so stupid good with kids it makes Katsuki and you tear up sometimes, it's such an adorable sight to see even though he's a hero.

Even now, as you’re crouched down outside of the building, rain pouring down on you, trying to give a stray cat some food, you can see him glaring at you from the doorway.

The cat retreats back into its corner and your brows furrow, frowning slightly. “I just want to give you some food, kitty.” You tear some chicken off of the piece you’re holding and toss it over to the cat. It hesitates, sniffing it suspiciously, but inevitably eats it.

His stare is burning into your skin, your brows furrow further at the thought of it. You glance over at him, hoping he’ll get the hint and go away, but his stare doesn’t waver.

You roll your eyes and stand. “I’m sorry, is there a problem?” You put your hands on your hips and narrow your eyes. “You keep glaring at me like this is your cat and I’m trying to steal it, or something.”

He doesn’t respond. Instead, he walks closer to you, then past you, crouching down right in front of the cat. He makes a clicking sound with his tongue and you peer over his shoulder in confusion.

The cat comes out of its hiding spot, purring and curling around his hand.

Your jaw drops. “What- what the hell? How did you do that?”

He turns slowly, eyes half-lidded, shaded by his hair. “She’s my cat.”

i really do think the desire to paint ten as unambiguously The Worst™️ when it comes to his relationship with martha is out of this desire to uncomplicate their relationship. to decouple them as friends and people who profoundly impacted each other’s lives. it’s just an easier narrative to swallow: that ten was Awful to her and then martha kicked him to the curb when she realized she was too good for him. easier, maybe, then dealing with the troubles of unrequited affection don’t have to be anyone’s fault, or that ten shut martha out in a lot of ways but let her in in others that he wouldn’t let any other companion near, or that they were still friends, they still wanted to see each other and be around each other, even though it was messy and sometimes hurt. you know?

you make really good points, I think I used the term karmic wrong sorry. I think of it more as not how I personally think he deserved all that happened to him (which thinking back os exactly what karma means, I messed up sorry), but as his fate being directly tied/parallel to anyas. I handnt noticed the toxicity of jimmy and curlys relationship, from the first playthrough I watched and the first interactions I had w fandom I saw so many ppl just. dismiss the terror Anya went through and focus too much on him as the "ultimate victim" and that just didn't sit well w me. I really dislike seeing ppl go "oh well nothing could've been done" I think it's much more complex than that. also I forgot to mention in the last ask that I really appreciate you bringing the point that this game isn't just about the harm of patriarchy but also very very critical to capitalism, I haven't seen too many ppl touch on this. I hadn't thought too deeply about how it makes "he deserved to become disabled as punishment" come up and I agree that's really messed up. I'll try watching a playthrough again with all of this in mind. but either way thanks! I really appreciate your answer ��🏼

I guess this is just part of being in a fandom like this. I've noticed a lot of people don't actually see posts outside of their curated view. So some people only get like anya posting or jimmy or curly and it can make it seem like that is what is saturating the conversation.

I mainly just follow the general tags and look for anything new because I'm like obsessed but I know some are only looking for what they want or believe to be the case and can get weird about other ideas.

Sorry if I came off mean its just a last few of the asks have been like circular conversations like this and its not draining per say but seeing all the nuance and details get overlooked to fit a straightforward and basic narrative really sucks cause there's a lot to explore character and theme wise.
