It´s a Beautiful Day publicaron entre 1969 y 1973 cuatro álbumes de estudio. El ser una banda tardía del "San Francisco Sound", y graves problemas con su mánager, les impidió ser una banda mucho más importante (si el primer disco de Camel hubiera salido en 1970 hubieran sido mucho más grandes).

Pero, que quieren que les diga, su primer álbum homónimo de 1969, "It´s a Beautiful Day", es uno de los mejores que se grabaron en la bahía esos años, un LP como para enmarcarlo, mejor que muchas bandas presuntamente más "chic". Si no lo han escuchado denle una oportunidad, no se arrepentirán.

"Wasted Union Blues" es su lado más eléctrico, crudo, chirriante y psych. En "Hot Summer Day" sacan su faceta más plácida y melódica; en "Girl With No Eyes", la barroca; en "Bulgaria", la folkie- étnica, y en "Time Is", la prog. Es un disco hermoso.
