as for my favorites to play...so far probably arti and SM? I love arti's double jump so much, and being able to kill DLLs is extremely cathartic. SM having infinite spears is also really fun!! They make it easier to kill vultures!! I love killing vultures. I don't know why. it is the thrill of the hunt...I feel like I'm conquering the food chain...hehehe

I still need to play all the campaigns though...I said I would play riv after I had an eggcat skin but now I do amd....yeah. I tend to use all my spoons for drawing but the other thing is. UUUUU THE EMOTIONAL GUTPUNCH...so im like "ok ill just stream it to my friends for support" but. WHICH friends. I domt kmow!! problems of someone with lots of friends who dont overlap. Saint is rivulet but multiplied lol...

I have my funny iterator oc skin and a campaign to use it in but...yeah. I do wanna edit it a bit if eti is ok with it...just for shenanigans with the saint sprites lol

im still grinding rain world as often as i canj but holy shit (experiences/opinions so far described in excessive detail below warning)

i think gourmand set my standards too high for other campaigns, they're literally perfect i love them with my entire heart they've been a blast to play through. i forced myself to not complete the food quest on my first run even though i was accidentally quite close just so i had a reason to replay them. chef's kiss gourmand my beloved.

artificer despite a rough start and the fact that it made me go through both shaded and underhang also ended up really fun. i love exploding the shit out of everything and the double jump is so satisfying. the vibes of metropolis are also immaculate, although not as good as outer expanse id say. scav king's a total pushover too killing them with their own spears was beyond funny. it has me curious about the waterfront facility and arti's ascension ending so i do also want to go back.

and then there's rivulet. fuck there's rivulet. i haven't finished it yet but man. man fuck that guy. so far at least. i mean i hope late game is more interesting but so far im stuck in chimney canopy, 3 shelter failures in and im losing my GODDAMN MIND.

okay i need to yap about rainworld, the only slugcat ill probably mention is arti and/or hunter

oh yeah i recently learned its rainworld/rain world. not rainworlds.

okay. so i ABSOLUTELY love the graphics in rainworld its like, the environments are so pretty ough i wanna be able to explore them freely without fear of lizards, vultures, scavengers, etc. i can in a way but its severely annoying to play as an overseer >:(

im also in love with the rainworld sandbox,, save me rainworld sandbox save me (i managed to spawn two of every lizard and i just freely threw them around. i also found the slugpup spawn button after an hour of struggle)

oh yeah the AI of the creatures is insane, instead of most games having everything with set animations its like theyre thrown onto a rig and given instincts aswell, so like two green lizards will attack eachother out of instinct, scavengers will attack artficer out of instinct (but also she just has an absolutely fucked karma and reputation in general) vultures will grab everything in sight, stuff like that

oh yeah, the rainworld slugcats have a major advantage outside of the universe of rainworld?? (shoutout to the person who told me this on my lu x rw fanfic) like, they can shoot their spears through metal, they can very easily kill something like a bokoblin in my opinion. but the rainworld environment was specifically designed to fucking hate you 🫶

dont know if i mentioned this but i DID learn what karma is, its basically just something you earn through completing a full cycle with full food pips. but dying will make the karma go down (but artificers is always going to be low) basically karma gets you through karma gates, which are the openings to new regions, oh yeah lets say a karma gate is karma 3, anything above that can also get through

fun fact the only slugcats with any connection to eachother are monk and survivor but theyre brothers. hunter also appears in a way in gourmands campaign. but it requires you to go through permadeath in her campaign (instead of counting up, her campaign counts down due to her disease) after all her cycles are done then visit where you died in hunters campaign while youre in gourmands, and boom, hunter long legs

rainworld has so many fun features ough i love it so much,, but im still stuck on monks campaign this game is not designed for the weak unfortunately and i have like 10 hours in it by now.

how I feel about this character

I love her, and I honestly think she's one of my favs of the og new directions. I think she's a very realistic character that has some hilarious moments in the show (props?? revolution?? breaking down in tears whenever she starts singing at the beginning??), plus she has a great voice and is almost always there and supportive

all the people I ship romantically with this character

she and mike should've been endgame. of all the ships in this show, they were like the only one that was genuinely healthy. they constantly supported each other and I was actually really entertained by their storylines in season 3

I haven't really explored any other tina ships, but I do kinda like the idea of sapphic tina -- I've seen some really fun edits of quinntina (that so far away cover slapped !) though they rarely interacted in canon so idk where that came from, I just think it's fun in theory

my non-romantic otp for this character

definitely blamtina! I think their friendship felt very realistic and well-developed, especially for something that really only existed to that extent for one season. also, they are so that friend group that has no boundaries and is very incestuous and it feels so high school

also love it when she's a girl's girl with mercedes and occasionally rachel

my unpopular opinion about this character

I loved bitch tina in seasons 4 and 5 - this felt like a natural progression of her character following the end of season 3 and everyone immediately discounting her as a potential lead soloist to replace Rachel - she was right when she said Rachel herself thought it would be Tina's turn her senior year only for her to be completely disregarded once again. sure, sometimes it was too extreme, but it was very entertaining and imo pretty realistic

one thing I wish had happened with this character in canon

more solos! I think she had a cool taste in music that was very distinct from the other new directions - more performances like dog days are over & I follow rivers would've been awesome (hung up was also sooo good)

I would've much rather seen her in new york than Artie - imagine blamtina being roommates !! and I know the timeline doesn't line up, but can you imagine how fun it would've been if it was tina fueding with Rachel in season 5 over funny girl??

I don't really have a strong opinion. I think I liked her overall, but she and the other season 4 newbies were done a huge disservice by being created as either carbon copies of the originals or being given zero personality or interesting storylines

I think she had a lot of potential as a character, and I'm obsessed with her voice - I could listen to new york state of mind & blow me one last kiss forever

I think Jake is my favorite ship of hers? though the cheating was real ick. def prefer him for Marley over Ryder though

I think it would've been interesting to see something romantic between her and kitty as a sort of replacement to faberry which we never got - kinda wild faberry was that popular with the fans and yet they got a whole do-over in season 4 and still didn't give it to us

oh, and I really enjoyed her interactions with finn as a sort of mentor/student dynamic - don't dream it's over is very wholesome, and I think her little card she made him was very sweet. I think it was a much healthier depiction of a teacher/student relationship than mr. schue had with anyone

I kinda liked the eating disorder storyline, and I wish it wasn't half-assed. I think it made a lot of sense for the character and it fit in well with the show (especially after they'd hinted at these storylines with Santana, mercedes, Quinn, and Rachel then never acknowledged them again). It sucks this plot point literally never got resolved !

obviously I wish they'd kept the season 4 newbies around in season 5 & 6 - I actually enjoyed the McKinley stuff in season 4 & 5 more than I enjoyed the New York stuff, and I found it incredibly annoying that these characters just dropped off the face of the earth because the glee club disbanded. All of them had so much potential only for it to be thrown out in favor of introducing a bunch of totally new characters with only a few episodes left of the show

SUPER happy you had fun with gourmand!!! they're a very fun campaign but it doesn't get a lot of love unfortunately 😢 but very glad you enjoyed it!!! and yeaaahh i get being spoiled on it. i got pretty big spoilers for saint but it was still the most hard-hitting campaign for me so i'm glad that didn't affect it too much... i hope you didn't get spoilers for the rest of the campaigns... good luck with arti!!!

Plus there's actually like a lot of variety in their styles. which again could just seem like a personal matter bc like someone else could say that all kurt's songs are just old broadway standards that blend together but like that's what i like and what i know lmao so they stand out more to me from song to song. yknow???

survivor! scar on snout is based on one of the cut arena sprites for player 1, it has a little.. scar? notch? line? there. survivor passage symbol on head as well and freckles :) some brown to match monk sorta. spikey fur!

overall more rounded than survivor, to reference the monk passage symbol which is also on their head. a little dewlap to reference gourmand - i think gourmand and survivor and monk are related. lighter yellows to reference survivor!

third sibling!!! the little orange line on their head is actually karma 7 (i realized survivor is karma 5 and monk is karma 6- so why not go with the theme?) and a sorta partial saint symbol on their head, missing the middle line. yellow/red accenting color to reference monk and survivor sorta. blu :)

sorta pinker. based on one of my old draft designs, just made a little better. green accent color to match sig. a little fluffy and sharp. ear tufts cause theyre fun and a tufted tail. hunter passage symbol is also on tail teehee. sig's head symbol is also on hunter. the scar is also green

nightcat is some sorta weird echo thing. to me. little wings for the fun of it. i dont have much on this design honestly other than i used dodge A Lot. the accenting pink on the dark purple parts was originally an accident but like? it vibes.

wanderer! cause actually why not. the white symbol on their chest is a half of sig's symbol, i'd like to think sig helped suns make wanderer. if you put its head symbol together with nightcat it makes the scholar :) blue accenting color is close to the negative/opposite colors of nightcat.

i dont have many notes for this biggol guy. sorta looks alike survivor and monk i suppose. feathers! theyre sorta rose colored i think. idk. it looks nice. simple patterns cause gourmand is a symbol guy

artiiii. i wanted to put an accent color on arti but it was so Hard because i was Stubborn and Needed That Damn Cyan on it. markings based on a siamese cat except for the ones on the arm and legs, theyre sort of tabby based?

green pup is tabby based in markings, pink sorta looks like flower petals. blue pup is siamese cat based in markings and the yellow? idk it looked nice

RIVULETTT. i love rivulet. i made the bright sunset gradient contrast by adding some darker but still vibrant blues and purples to the design, as well as a cream. there's also actual gills udner the display frills (which also got a color update to match instead of being an offbrand bi flag). also webbed fingers!!!

vibrant fuckin purple because it looks nice actually. made it have some cream-pink-purple thing as underbelly instead to make it look nicer. head markings are based directly on suns :) biggol Orb Eyes to Stare In Your Soul. accenting colors sorta match rivulet? idk? they just look nice without contrasting too much. also whiskers. and tall. and thin with long ass grabbers

i kept getting "portal colors" and "aroace flag" and like YEA YALL ARE RIGHT ACTUALLY i just wanted to fit blue and orange on it though lmao. anyway pretty simple body markings to make up for the Six Fucking Accent Colors. three forehead dots are yellow while there's an x on its back and head thats blue... to imitate the rot :) why? figure it out yourself

Firs kiss

you had been together for just over a few weeks and you hadn't kissed each other on the lips yet
