You had always thought Arthur’s hair looked nice, just a little bit longer than he preferred. Ok, maybe a lot longer than he preferred it but you couldn't help but like the way the strands fell in his pretty blue eyes, watching his big hands and fingers push it back over his head. His little frustrated huff when it inevitably slips back to feathering over the sides of his face was all too cute. You liked the way the sun caught the more blond strands; turned them a bright gold. You know the big scary outlaw, Arthur Morgan would never use the word beautiful to describe himself but you could use that word for him every day of every week.

And he doesn't always intend to grow it as long as he does, he runs out of time to get anything done about it, much preferring to return to your little corner of camp to rest with you sooner than stop in town. He’d rather come back to you, to get to lay his eyes on you than to spend another moment away from the sweet kiss you give him when he rejoins you.

 Of course, he was as strong as a draft horse. Arthur could handle just about anything thrown at him. But Dutch had a way of running him ragged. When it wasn’t Dutch, it was the other camp members and when it wasn’t them, it was himself. The pressure to be everywhere, to do everything; it crushed his shoulders down. You did what you could to help. It's why you so thoroughly enjoyed these quiet moments, just you and him in the cool evenings. 

“...Look at all this. Honey, I need a goddamned haircut,” he’d say, standing in front of the little mirror where he shaved his scruff after it grew too bushy. You sit on his bed, pouting at him. He stands with his hands gripping the edge of the barrel, turning to the left and the right. The way his hair bounced around made you giggle. 

“But-” 

“Yeah, you like it, I remember,” He sighs.

“I do, Arthur. I just think you look very handsome with your hair like that,” You look at his hair and then your eyes wander to his strong forearms gripping the lip of the barrel. You had found Arthur to be eye-catching the day that you met him. And his personality only bolstered how much you liked him. He could play at gruff simpleton brute but he had more sense and wit than most of the other men combined. He was more soft than he wanted to admit too, but he showed those pieces of himself to you. His vulnerabilities he liked to keep to himself; now he shares with you. 

“Right. You keep on tellin’ your beautiful lies; I might just start believin’ you,” He chuckles at the word ‘handsome’. You make a face at his self deprecating attitude. How he makes jokes of himself to keep his insecurities from seeming like they're bigger than they are. But the corners of his mouth always tug downwards when he’s looking in the mirror, even when he only intended to look at his hair or at his beard. 

“Arthur, I’m not lying. Come here?” You’re more siren-like than you realize; your beckon makes him turn, huffing a little. As if he knows he’s in some degree of trouble. The little disappointed frown you have is something he can’t help but look away from. Arthur leans away from the barrel and steps closer to you. He reaches for his hat that sits on the table at his bedside but you stop him, a gentle hand over the top of his. 

Your hand tugs him closer and he allows you to guide him. You squeeze his palm, those hard working hands, rough from all that he does with them.

He lets himself relax, which he rarely does, he’s always doing something or on his way there. But you love to hold him in your arms. To make him stay still with you for awhile.

He sits and the sweet kiss he gives you makes you light up. But you motion to have him lay over you while you play with his hair, even if you can tell he wants to keep giving you kisses. His head is in your lap while he uses your plush thighs as pillows. He’s a bit stiff, as if unwillingly and begrudgingly doing as you say. His brow still crinkles a bit, some of the lines on his face from pulling grimaces are creased. You lift the strands upwards to marvel at how long they are. 

“Too damn long,” 

“No, never,” you coo at him through his faux displeasure.

“Never? You’re kiddin’ me, sweetheart. Only you could want a man with hair down to his ass,” you laugh, rolling your eyes. You miss how he softens even more at your laugh, he liked that you found his jokes funny or at the very least, silly enough to warrant such a reaction.

“Ok, ok, you can get it cut, but maybe not so short on the sides? I like when it’s long here,” You look down at his eyes, petting the loose locks he usually wants to cut a bit shorter to keep hair off of his neck. 

“I’ll think on it; it’s still on my head, ain’t it?”

You giggle humming contentedly as you continue rubbing his hair in your fingers. He relaxes more even as he continues to murmur about how much he can’t wait to watch it all get chopped off at the barber in town. You shake your head, feeling him go soft from his usual intensity. 

Your nails lightly scratch against his scalp, your fingers pet his hair this way and that. Then you transition to what you know he likes, a repetitive soothing motion through the locks of his hair. The way the small furrow just over his nose bridge flattens out makes you smile. You can see his hands stop fussing, his lungs fill with a deep breath and puff it out slowly. He props one leg over his bed and the other hangs down to the floor. And he might grumble but those turn into simple rumbles of soft pleasure. You watch the tension leak from him, his usual stiffness weakening.

You’re pretty sure you can lull him to sleep like this, the rhythmic stroking over his hair and scalp like a lullaby. You comb his hair backwards, his thick hair is tangled in some places and you help work through it gently. When you feel you’ve perhaps messed with his hair enough, you remove your hands. One of his eyes slips open from where he had both closed in a sleepy gesture; revealing that gem toned hue. He looks grumpier than when you started, perhaps a little disgruntled. 

“What?” you ask, knowing he misses the sensation of your fingers fiddling around in his hair. “Thought you didn’t like me ruffling your feathers,” you tousle it a little. The teasing in your voice is prominent when you smile down at his small scowl, no real bite behind his bark. 

He seems to flush a little bit, you can appreciate the way his blushes crawl up his face, he can never hide how you make him feel. His artificial glare melts away. 

“It should be you, I guess- ya know, rufflin’ my feathers,” his sentimental tone brings him out of his element, showing his nerves around you. Not so steadfast now. You smile warmly and shyly as well, touched by his genuine feelings, the ones he told you just as bashfully that he harbored for you.

I can talk about glisten and looey in the tos au because thats not spoilers giggles. ive been thinkings about them. this isnt about anything specifically im just gonna be yap yap yapping away abt them

since ive been asked before: no ships are canon in this au, but the relationships are intentionally kept vague, so interpret them however youd like! (except for proships.)

FOR CONTEXT: glisten and looey are artists in this au! :] they use silly wacky machines and tools to help them create art, trying to inspire kids to create art themselves while also demonstrating how machines can be useful in the subject of art

glisten and looey mean so much to me aughhfhgh. Two toons who are haunted by how people percieve them. their personalities are so different but i feel like they share a lot of the same insecurities... In most circumstances i dont think theyd ever be close enough to talk about that with each other, but in this au since the toons were born with the one they were paired with, they all have an extremely close bond with their pairings. they were in such a vulnerable state when they were first created but they were there to help one another adjust, and they spend most hours of the day with or near their partner, so they all become pretty inseperable. Because of that, in this au glisten and looey are comfortable talking to each other about their insecurities :] its nice for them to have someone who understands them even if their issues are different

i dont think looey is much of the gossip type, he doesnt do it much with other people but oh BOY when hes with glisten hes a yap machine. they spend hours just yapping about nonsense and drama GNFLFJF painting session and they just yap the whole timeee

They both have issues when it comes to recieving praise for their work - imposter syndrome plagues both of them, and they both feel a little undervalued by guests and their peers for how much effort they put in. glisten tends to put a lot of emphasis on what parts he did specifically in the art he and looey make together. if you insult looeys art he WILL get pissed off and defend his talent, its not that he thinks looey is a bad artist at all but he worries that people will think that looey is a better artist than him and feels like he needs to make sure people know what how skilled he is so that people dont think looey is better than him. There are some underlying competitive feelings but he cant really help it, he knows its not a competiton and tries to fight those thoughts but tis just how his brain works </3. Looey is the opposite of this, where they feel too goofy and unprofessional for his job, and he feels inferior in comparison to glisten whos charismatic and dresses well and talks so confidently about his art ,,, (to specify i dont think one is exactly better than the other! i dont know exactly what their art would look like, im still thinking abt it, but its less that one is better and more that theyre both more skilled in different aspects of art, which is part of why their pieces they work together on look so good.)

glisten does looeys makeup along with his own every morning >:] being a painter hes just good with brushes in general so every morning he wakes up, puts his makeup on, and then puts matching makeup on looey hehehe,,, he dislikes looeys sense of fashion but try as he might he cant help with that part GBDLFNFK. (Looey never likes the clothes glisten dresses them up in, it doesnt feel like him. glisten always has to dress elaborately so he feels professional but looey doesnt feel professional in the Slightest so it feels too fake to dress that way. they feel silly in the Bad Way not the looey silly way)

I think the actual classes they teach would probably have like a bunch of art desks where kids can mess around with a bunch of tools and gadgets to help them make straighter lines and circles and stuff, maybe those cool desk tops that spin yknow... Theyd show off the bigger tech they use to make their own elaborate art too like in the second photo above but maybe theyd also give kids a step-by-step on how to draw one of the toons, similar to the animation studio classes at disneyland if you know what i mean ? I can imagine theyd both be super supportive towards the kids too teehee,, glisten would praise their artwork like it was made by picasso and then looey would jump up and down and call it awesomely terrific. I havent thought much about how each class would work ngl

geto suguru falling for an underclassman reader ෆ (no curse au) pt.1

it was a new year— geto was already on his 2nd year at jujutsu high with the same two friends, not that he really cared about making friends. satoru just appeared one day and called him his 'best friend' and shoko tagged along. it was actually a quite comical group he thinks; a rich kid, a chain smoker and a boy who just wanted to die. but he supposes they were also popular around the campus (though he doesnt understand why)

he was casually strolling near the pond in front of the campus during break (actually hiding from gojo bc a new episode of digimon aired and he really doesnt want to hear his rants) when he saw a trail of... chips? leading near the back of the campus

his first thought was 'this is too weird imma dip' but alas curiosity got him and he decided to follow the trail of.. chips. who knows if thats how they lure people and kidnap them nowadays? if so hes sure people like satoru would surely fall for the trap (he thinks as he himself follows the said trap)

after reaching the end of the trail, he was surprised to face a young girl instead of an old beefy hitman. this was his supposed kidnapper? she was pretty cute so he wouldnt really mind he guesses. but the girl actually looked equally surprised to see him. the two stared at each other and owlishly blinked.

"um.. what are you doing.. here? if i may ask." geto broke the silence

"oh uh i am waiting?" she spoke softly and didnt elaborate further

'maybe for a friend?' geto thought and didnt ask for more details. though the reason he was even here— "do you know who placed these chips in the grou–"

before he could even finish his sentence, the girl pulled him and hid behind the concrete plankets. okay, this girl was nuts

"i was the one who placed the chips," she whisper-answered. "for him" she gestured to their front. geto followed her gaze and saw a.. puppy? he raised his brows at that, if she wanted to feed the puppy why not just give it that directly instead of doing whatever the hell that was.

she probably understood what he was thinking and finally told him, "that little guy was actually trapped in one of the slabs. i tried helping him but he was probably afraid so i decided to lure him with these chips and into safety."

oh, he thinks. that makes sense. they both then sat in silence watching the puppy eat the chips. it was a comfortable silence though. this is not a bad day, he muses. the nice weather, watching an adorable puppy eating chips with a cute girl sitting beside him.

after some time, the puppy left and he realized they were still holding hands from earlier when she pulled him. she let go of his hand after realizing herself and blushed lightly (he was a little disappointed).

"what you did was kind." he smiled at her.

"oh its nothing. i felt bad for him and i dont even like chips that much."

geto laughed at her reasoning. he was getting enamored by her weird charm and awkward mannerisms. they were starting to walk back inside their campus. "well.. whats your name?"

"i am (name)," she bowed her head lightly "please take care of me."

"of course, nice to meet you. i am geto." he smiled. "are you a 1st year?"

"yes i am. are you one as well?"

"no," he shaked his head. "i am a 2nd year."

"oh!" she suddenly stopped. "youre a senpai!"

he laughed at her matter of fact tone and nodded his head. this girl was actually weird but in a.. cute way.

before he could ask more about her, his white haired friend appeared and he just sighed heavily

"suguru??? what are you doing?" he looked at (name) and gasped "do you have a secret girlfriend? oh my god! shoko!"

"lord help me," he sighed again. he looked at the girl with him and saw her blushing and looking bewildered. as much as he found her blushing face adorable he decided to help her

"this is not my girlfriend you doofus," he slapped gojos back of head. "shes an underclassman, be nice to her."

"ohhhh?? shes a kouhai?" he gasped once again. "i always wanted one!"

geto deadpanned at that. look at this weirdo talking about the girl like shes some shiny rock. he was starting too feel weirdly possessive over her. after all he was the one who found her first so she should be his kouhai only, it's only natural.

with gojo blabbering about himself to her and her politely nodding at his words, they made their way to their classes. geto wanted to ask her about herself but found himself being cut off by gojo everytime. he was starting to get pissed but then saw (name) smiling reassuringly at her which made him calm down a little (he was almost pouting). then she had to leave for her class and waved at them bye. 'oh well,' he thought while waving back. he could try to meet her after school maybe? but this time without that blue eyed freak he huffed.

i have like. such mixed feelings on the medic leo headcanon, coming from someone that has used it in pretty much all of his work so far. me and the medic leo headcanon are in an off-and-on relationship and every time i think we're done for good its outside my door with a boombox in the pouring rain and i feel like i hate myself a little when i take it back. it fucks like a champ though which makes it KIND OF worth it

cause like. i really think its an implementation thing that frustrates me more than anything else. to give leo a special THING feels like it disregards such a core facet of his character, that being that he doesn't have one and he feels like the others do. "face man" feels like overcompensating. initially, "leader" feels like too much, and it feels like something he TOOK from raph. there's really an implication that he feels like his brothers are SOMETHING without him, but he's NOTHING without them, and he directly states the second part. (so he overcompensates and acts like they do need him)

i think to make this an early-in-his-life practice kind of throws that out the window. leo taking this up when he's young doesnt fit him, i dont think, especially because i see him as a very.... high wisdom low intelligence kind of character. good street smarts terrible book smarts, and that's kind of apparent by him being so clever and intuitive while also taking stupid dares and making actively reckless decisions to look cool lmao. he would swallow a whole bottle of shampoo because mikey told him to and then be confused why he's in the medbay and raph is yelling at him like ten minutes later

HOWEVER. i think it is a very good way to explore some of the nuances of him that actually MAKE him a good leader, once he steps into that role. leo is a people person. he knows his family, he pays attention to them, he knows how to manipulate them and it would make him a diligent eye in the field. things dont get past him and it makes it hard to hide when theyre in pain from him. he's the most likely to be like "cool, i dont give a fuck" when they try to dismiss injuries. he'll happily make it an argument if he has to; he'd be as stubborn as a mule when it comes to their well-being, and he's more calculative than he looks, which means raph and donnie's usual tactics of dismissal and deflection hit a wall when he puts his foot down on something.

so really i just go out of my way to not make it something EXCLUSIVE to him when its included (and i always go out of my way to make it recent, because why would they have a designated medic who they already know to go to when the concept of crime-fighting was NEVER something they thought would really happen?). it makes the most sense to be something that STARTED with donnie, considering he refers to resuscitating piebald as "my science"; medicine is included in the field of what he enjoys and invests in. donnie is a jack of all trades in anything he can get his grubby little hands on, but ive always seen him as squeamish, which gives a good reason for leo to get involved.

but i think leo would always underestimate his capability despite lots of hands-on experience, even though hands-on is literally how he learns instead of reading books and studying like donnie does. no matter how diligent and practiced he is in the field, he's still not exclusive in it, and it doesnt feel like something that IS a big thing to him. so he can do a few stitches, big deal. donnie and splinter can already do that! who cares? raph and mikey probably could too if they actually paid attention to any of donnie's yap-sessions. no matter how much he boasts about how much they need their cool brother to patch them up, he doesn't believe it, even as he gets better and better and better.

it also gives him the opportunity to really come to face how meaningful it actually is, and to be appreciated for that, especially if donnie is out of commission and he actually gets to utilize that strength. doomed timeline angst potential right there.

silver hasn't changed - he's just been put in different scenarios (a silver character analysis)

something that constantly frustrates me when it comes to discourse over silver's character is that people either treat him as a total uwu soft boy, OR they overcorrect and treat him as some unhinged asshole.

silver's always been a mix of both, but here's why i think it feels like he's gotten "softer" to some people:

silver has ALWAYS had sort of two sides to him based on what situation he's in. he's this pure-hearted, naive kid who refuses to give up hope and who cares about people deeply.

but part of his naivety is that he's very headstrong when pursuing his goals, and tends to see things as very black and white when other people get involved ("you're either with me or against me" kinda thing)

silver is not one or the other, he's both. HE'S ALWAYS BEEN BOTH. in 06 you see scenes of him ruthlessly trying to murder sonic, but you also see scenes of his relationship with blaze, or him taking in the beauty of the nature he's never seen before.

and these sides of him are intertwined as well. the brash and aggressive way silver treats people in the rivals series, for example, stems FROM his naivety and social awkwardness. silver genuinely expects people to just believe him and let him do what he needs to do without question. so when people demand he explain himself, or get in his way because they don't understand what he's doing, he gets frustrated.

(i also just don't think that the rivals series is a good frame of reference to point to when complaining silver is too soft nowadays, considering that literally everyone in those games is like 50% more aggressive than they usually are lol. espio literally tells knuckles, his friend, to his face that he doesnt care that the master emerald is missing and won't help him find it)

anyways, getting more into specifics, 06 and the rivals games show off how silver acts when he's on a mission - he's brash, he's aggressive, and totally focused on doing whatever's necessary to achieve his goals.

his next appearance after that is sonic colors ds, where he's way more chill and casually talks with sonic. which makes sense because there's no reason stated for silver being there; he doesn't have a goal he's pursuing at the moment, so you're able to see that more relaxed side of him.

he's aggressive again in his next game appearance, generations, because he thinks sonic is an impostor - again, there is a specific reason for him acting that way.

forces i don't count because silver is so egregiously out of character there ("i'm an optimist but i'm also a realist" - dawg no the fuck you are not) but he's definitely not an uwu soft boy there

in team sonic racing he's definitely a bit softer which makes sense considering it's just. car racing. and in idw for the most part he's either chilling, or helping the others face a threat, so again there isn't really a reason for that aggressiveness to rear its head.

but we DO see it come out in idw more recently!! as soon as he thinks something's up with "duo," he immediately jumps to that anger and brashness:

these moments are pretty in line with the aggressiveness he displayed in 06 or the rivals series, which i think goes to show that his character hasn't really CHANGED.

it's just that more recently, he's usually been in lower stakes situations where that softer side of his is spotlighted, while during his earlier appearances that more aggressive side was what was spotlighted. but both sides have always existed, and both sides continue to exist.

tldr: stop complaining about silver being too soft please for the love of god

i dont think that people who have this theory are wrong or stupid or anything like that. im just saying this bc i know people are v protective of their blorbos and i get that but me putting my theory forward doesnt have to go against you having your own theory

also also i havent seen the entirety of bbg so im mainly going off anselms scene (and my quick scrub of the movie)

1: time periods & ages

so at the veeeeeery start of ticky tacky we see lucien being a silly horny boy

after checking, i can confirm that this is the playboy issue from april 1970

he uses a record player and seems to prefer more vintage-style interior design though this isnt entirely telling of the time period as, on his desk, he has what looks to be a voip phone so we might be able to place ticky tacky around 2008

as a rule, i tend to age characters (unless explicitly stated or if they seem de-aged/aged up) at the same age the actor was at the time of playing the role. oscar was about 35 playing lucien and i think he looks about that old. so 2008-35=1973. id have lucien being born around 1973

whereas (to me, at least) anselm seems a lot older than the 43 oscar was at the time. as stated in my nsfw a-z for anselm, i have him pegged at around 60

we see sams hospital room at the very start of bgb and this looks pretty modern to me so i wanna place the main plot around late 2010s to early 2020s? say 2018?

sam does use a tape recorder and a typewriter but i think these are a more stylistic choice and the time period of those two things dont match the apparent time period of the above hospital room

2018-60=1958. i see anselm being born around 1958

so anselm born in '58 and lucien born in '73

2: differences in character

anselm does this slutty pouty thing with his lips and i dont think i clocked lucien doing it

anselm is also like naturally flirtatious and sexual but i see lucien as more of a silly easily-excited emotional boy

ofc theres the issue of the accent which lucien doesnt have

lucien admits that hes never killed anyone before but anselm seems to have no qualms shooting his cousin for just being annoying

anselm has that horny old man energy™️

lucien takes care with his crime (lining the floor with plastic, using leather gloves as to not leave fingerprints on the pistol, etc) but anselm literally gives no fucks and goes in raw

ofc the injuries would still make sense if anselm was lucien but thats assuming that lucien literally has no sense of selfpreservation and just chooses to burn inside his study and then suddenly decides to crawl out which doesnt make sense to me

i made a hc for anselms injuries in my nsfw hcs; correct me if im wrong but we dont find out why anselm has his injuries. as thats the case, im just going to make a little hc for that too. i feel like he was probably involved in gas explosion (possibly when he was a kid). that would account for the burn scars, the one blind eye (from heat or flying glass), his crippled leg (from a structural collapse pinning the leg) and occasional breathing difficulties (from lung scarring due to prolonged smoke inhalation)

3: the cousins

this is the same man (tim rock) as the cousins of lucien and anselm respectively. i find it very odd that, if anselm was lucien, he would just so happen to have two cousins that look exactly the same. i mean ig they could be identical twins but like in that case why would you then go and gleefully work for the man who killed your brother?

4: conclusion

i have literally no beef with people who think anselm is just an older lucien but, to me, theyre two different people

besides why have one rich dilf when you could have two?

dude dipper would freak OUT he would be absolutely horrified. he'll pretend he didnt see it but he did and he's quietly runnjng laps around his head about it asking himself WHY ford would have those without coming to the obvious conclusion. he'd think its a prank on stan's part but that doesnt make sense. he'd think ford is just comfrotable using stan as a naked model for some art he's gonna add to the journal (ones that dipper isnt gonna look forward too lmfao) but that doesnt explain the erotic nature of the photos or why theyre so crusty. he'd think its an overconvuluted plot by bill that he got some jilted lover of stan's to send these back and plant them in the basement, but how would they have ever gotten in anyway?? that also makes no sense!

he would ask mabel, soos and wendy what they think but he doesnt want THEM to know about it! he would have to answer why he was snooping in fords things and opening boxes and thatd be so embarrassing (and also mabel, soos and wendy would be all "well obviously cuz its there cuz he wants to fuck stan")

then when he cant take it he'd confront ford about it lik" "Great Uncle Ford, i saw these photos of Grunkle Stan in a box that are... that are kind of gross. Why do you have those?"

and ford is just "its for science. dipper my boy please turn around" while bringing out the memory gun and the mental note to put that box somewhere way higher

Episode 11 Review (Jason & Thomas)

I actually have rather little to say about this one, overall it was an okay-ish episode and it didn’t have much in it for me (still keeping it under the cut to contain the yapping lol)

beware of spoilers!

One of th few times I saw both routes fully, i usually only go see Thomas' special scenes and illustration but I was pretty curious about this one and I am starting to like him more and more, the scene felt so shooooooorrrrt I wish they had talked more and discussed his finger licking habits 👁👁 the ilustration was very pretty too, i LOVE his expression~ I was a bit sad when we couldnt go to the planetarium :c I hope its a hint for a future episode, maybe an actual date?

The whole "uuuuggghh i dont want to have dinner with himmmmm but i gave my woorrrddd but i dont want to be with hiiiimmmm" was so silly cause... dont go? say no? whats he gonna do sue you for hurting his feelings? why are u acting like u have a gun to your head lmao and also why are you acting like spending time alone with him is a torture? the last few times you two spend time together he was sweet and kind, he opened up to you, he helped you and clearly showed you that he DOES like you as a person!! what is there to hate at this point i dont get it, and youre also obviously horny for him get your shit together

No, she is not betraying her company because (like Jason says) the rivalry is between him and Devon, Ysaline is not part of the equation she is not even a variable to consider. And no, she is not betraying her "friends" either because she has none! the game is very focused on the route to the point of our MC not making friends, this is not HSL where you got to constantly interact with the cast, raise their LOM, get to know them, etc. Here Ysaline is alone with her LI (and I cant take the argument of "the friendship happens behind the camera" cause thats just lazy af and leaving up to the VIEWER to fill in plot holes, for all I know she could also be addicted to cocaine and thats why she doesnt have money to pay the groceries).

Anyway, her bullshit aside, I actually loved Jason this episode! He is funny, witty, bratty in his charming way, he is so gentlemany, he cooks for her, drives her in his car (sighs like a teenager). I really like his character these past few episodes (it does bother me tho that this ep is SO bland without the special scene :/) and i hope he continues this way !!

Back to bitching- Just to quickly comment on the whole cameo thing: I am not a fan. I dont really mind them per se and I am not bubbling with rage, the cameos are well placed and they make sense and dont feel super out of pocket (amoris is a small city after all) but... I want our own characters, I want our own NPCs to interact with semi-frequently, I looooved the introduction of Devon's brothers and that cap remains my fav up to date (i want to rewatch it on Thomas' route again just to see Tasha and the boys more~). I want more characters that Ysaline can befriend and forge friendships with :c

That's pretty much all, like I said a mid chapter, not bad but not good. Pretty curious about the next one and how Jason will fit there!

? im not sure where this is coming from but my point isnt and has never been "aiura and saiki are platonic soulmates", its "regardless of their status as soulmates, it cant force them to fall in love and so that relationship will just develop as it may, platonic OR romantic." the way you say this honestly just makes it seem like you dont understand what "soulmate" means and WHY people call them "platonic soulmates", its not that people think "platonic soulmates" is a specific label that defines them and that thats what the universe wanted them to be, its that "soulmates" cannot be defined as strictly platonic OR romantic without being an extremely creepy forced romance or friendship and it doesnt make sense that way anyway, so people are allowed to think their label as soulmates ends up being platonic FOR THEM.

and also that its really creepy that people think she has some sort of ownership over him or something... that just because she tells him theyre romantic soulmates means his feelings dont matter, youre not allowed to ship him with anyone else and hes not allowed to love anyone else, even if theyre not dating because she already staked her claim on him or something 😭

and nowhere in canon does it say she predicted that they end up together btw, its already very clear to me that youre very biased but this is just something you made up. if you headcanon that, thats perfectly okay!! but as far as we know, it didnt happen. nowhere does it say or even slightly imply that her soulmate power has anything to do with her predictions of the future, most of her powers that we see actually dont lol she predicts some futures but her other most prevalent powers we're shown are her ability to see auras and "compatibility" (which you can headcanon or theorize as having to do with future predictions, but again in canon this is never even so much as alluded to)

so yeah its not a future prediction and also even if it was, they literally prove in the show that the future can be changed, especially if you KNOW the future. but regardless, i doubt its a prediction in the first place and all evidence points to it not being so, especially since aiura went out of her way to come to pk to find her soulmate which, if she had already predicted theyd be together eventually, would change their future, their meeting, and their love story drastically and, although i have criticisms for how she wholeheartedly trusted her power and didnt actually make any romantic connection with saiki before trying to date him, aiura is not nearly stupid enough to mess it up that badly

anyway, like ive said a million freaking times, i do think "soulmate" the way she says it has a romantic connotation, but my point is that that doesnt actually mean much in terms of anything romantic happening between them. it didnt happen in canon and theres nothing to imply that it ever will. shipping and headcanoning is awesome and fun and i love love loveeee aiura and saikis friendship and how fun it is to build off of, but a romantic relationship between them is not canon, not now and never in the future. in myyyyy opinion, they found each other and theyre good for each other and thats what matters to me about their relationship and thats what makes them "soulmates".

i need 2 take this step by step and i really like the idea of viktor adapting to all his new senses. he has the toddler habit of touches everything and putting it in his mouth, especially because he doesn;t quite know what is considered edible. i think he should give jayce a little nibble. this man doesn't wake up even if the whole world comes crashing down so viktor is deffo...giving his pinky or arm a little humble lick. wonders why it's salty. [he hasnt showered in days]

jayce having to dress viktor is so funny bc he picks some clothes up and gives them to viktor who absolutely has no idea what to do with those and cait is like 'i think you need to help him' and jayce is just muttering under his breath not please and. i need this injected into me im SO SERIOUS. miscommunication trope but jayce has no idea that the lights flickering mean that viktor is So into him, even if his expression betrays very little.

and the thing is. a lot of touching will be done. like jayce doesnt really have a medical background but he's doing checkups bc its not like he can bring viktor to a fucking doctor. he's touching his face, cupping his jaw, very intently watching viktor for signs of pain bc viktor can't talk or say it himself. he very much figures out what pain is when jayce applies pressure to his back and leg and watches viktor contort from the pain. this doesnt result in a gradual flicker but the fucking lantern outside his apartment goes out,, the light BURSTING when v groans in pain and clutches to his leg. i think pain in a human body is x1000 worse and so he's far more receptive to it bc it's a foreign feeling too.

jayce a little freak-out moment who quickly goes to comfort him bc he can imagine that genuinely everything is new to viktor who simple doesn't know how to control his abilities yet in this new vessel + everything must be overwhelming, too. courting gift #2: jayce makes viktor a brace for his injured leg (this fic is just 5+1 the five times viktor assumed jayce was courting him and the one time he actually does)

OKAY BUT TEACHING VIKTOR HOW TO TALK? like they're sitting opposite to each other on jayce's bed,, viktor's bad leg cushioned on a soft pillow. jayce pointing to himself and going 'jayce.' 'j-a-y-c-e' and then he points at various other items to tell their name but also at a bowl of kraft mac and cheese and going 'food' before going back to himself and going 'jayce' and mostly viktor just stares at him and jayce cant help but feel defeat at some point like. 'maybe he isn't as intelligent of a creature as i thought....' so he's rubbing his face, his hair, eyes closed tryign to think very hard about the next course of action before he hears a very raspy 'v....vi-' coming and his eyes snap open and v just,, struggles to use his vocal chords for the first time and conjures as 'vik...tor....' while pointing to himself. and it's the first time in DAYS/WEEKS jayce allows himself to laugh, even if it's in triumph. and the light inside the room flickers when he smiles and he goes to reach out and hold v by his shoulders and goes 'viktor!' and god it's becoming very bright in the room and he lets go quickly like.. 'sorry,sorry. i just. got really excited. viktor. yes. Viktor' and wow there goes the flicker of the light again because how many millennia has it been someone uttered viktor's name. especially like that?

I think the reason people believe chuuya would be the more open and affectionate in soukoku (as like. A romantic relationship) is because they believe him to be the mentally stable one and i think the reason people seem to believe he’s one of the few “mentally stable” characters in bsd is because he does not let himself be seen as vulnerable, and the few times we do see him go through something genuinely horrible and having a moment of vulnerability he does not really have the time to truly process it and ends up “moving on” pretty quickly (for example when he was at the flags’ funeral and adam interrupted him, or how when the sheep betrayed him dazai was immediately at his side trying to convince him to join the pm). And even if he does process it and thinks “man that was pretty fucked up wasnt it” it is never shown on screen so i feel like a lot of viewers end up seeing it as him not being bothered by these events and just a pretty chill dude that doesnt wallow in grief or self pity. But i think him never wallowing in grief or self pity is kind of a problem because in the end all he is doing is suppressing all that trauma and not really trying to acknowledge it, but at the same time when he does he ends up pinning the blame on himself (how the sheeps betrayal was his fault, the flags dying because of him). I feel like this impacts how affectionate he is too because he has built up so many walls that at the point when the flags make a party to celebrate the one year anniversary of him joining the pm he gets suspicious, then surprised and then flustered and tries acting like he doesnt care about it. All this is to say that i think him believing he cant show weakness and has to maintain the facade of being “the strongest” makes him seem like some regular degular guy (if he’s not fighting dragons) ends up him getting viewed as some mentally stable, communicative guy with maaaybe just a bit of anger issues when in reality he got so embarrassed by dazai’s corny speech in mersault that he shot him in the head with a gun

why silver's time traveling is so goddamn confusing (an analysis)

was rambling about the weirdness with silver's time traveling earlier today so i thought i'd make a post about some of my thoughts.

basically i think there are two main things that make his time traveling feel off or confusing.

edit: i made a part 2 to this where i realized that uh... this is kind of all sonic forces' fault? it includes a map chronicling silver's time travel, so check it out if you want to see a closer look at all this!

(this got way longer than i thought it would be so it's under the cut)

the first is what everyone always brings up, which is that it doesn't make sense that silver's future keeps changing from bad to good back and forth.

his future is bad, he goes back in time, helps stop a threat, and then when he returns to his future it's good. but then it turns bad again?? and he has to do the whole thing over again. which literally makes no sense because like. that's not how time works. any new threat that happens in the present will always have already happened before silver's future.

like in sonic colors ds, silver says his future is good:

but then in forces, it's bad again???

luckily since then we haven't had any weird contradictions - idw made the great decision of having silver's future get saved after the metal virus arc and then having him just hang out in the present without a specific mission.

but i think the second, bigger problem that makes silver's time travel confusing is how it differs from other time travel stories - specifically in how it starts.

for starters, often in stories involving time travel, the time traveler is the main character and the one who saves the day by changing things. but whenever silver time travels, he's kind of just one person in a larger group of heroes who save the day. which makes you wonder: did he even need to be there for things to work out?

more importantly though, the way silver's initial reason for time traveling works is sort of a headache to think about. in a lot of time travel stories, things are good until something bad happens, and then the time traveler goes back in time to prevent the bad thing from happening, and return things to their initial good state.

but with silver, things START bad, and then he goes back in time to stop bad things from happening in the past, to CHANGE his future from bad to good. he's not restoring the future, he's completely altering it.

thus this creates this god-awful paradox, where silver's future is good BECAUSE he time traveled, but he only starts time traveling in the first place because his future is bad. it's easy to wave away until you start to think about how that would logically work in the flow of time.

like the reason i was thinking about all this is because of my au involving shadow's adventures in the future, and it's a good example of how confusing this gets when you think about how everyone else experiences it.

imagine you're shadow (immortal) and you live from the present day, all the way up to when silver is alive and starts time traveling. does shadow experience the ruined time that silver logically HAS to grow up in, or does he experience the pleasant clear-skies future that silver ends up creating?

im not saying that there's no way to explain these things. a fairly easy explanation is that silver's time traveling creates different timelines. so he grows up in a timeline where the future is ruined, but returns to a different timeline where the future is saved.

but then that creates a whole OTHER host of problems. like, what was silver's life like in this saved future before this point? in this timeline, did he grow up in this city - did he have friends, family, etc. that he has no actual memories of? does he return to a life that he doesn't remember, but that remembers HIM?

again, there ARE ways to explain this. you could say that silver just doesnt exist in this new timeline until he returns, or something along those lines.

the problem is that ALL OF THIS is ridiculously convoluted, and more importantly, no explanation for any of this is ever given in canon itself. so when you try to think about silver time traveling more deeply, you're bound to get a headache trying to figure out exactly how it works. which is just not conducive to silver's character.

this isn't even mentioning the fact that we still have no idea HOW he even time travels in the first place. from the way he phrases it, "i've been sent", it sounds like it's not really something he controls, or at the very least someone ELSE is sending him to do this.

(also his phrasing here, "to save the future from turning into another wrecked world" is just.............. sigh)

i think that the best solution once upon a time would've simply been to have silver save his future once, but get permanently stuck in the present. that would eliminate all the need for all these convoluted questions, as well as having to continuously come up with reasons for silver to keep showing up, while still keeping the interesting concept of silver being someone from the future.

another better solution imo would've been to have it so silver's future just NEVER gets saved - he keeps returning but it's still ruined every time, so he has to travel to the next incident in the timeline that might've caused it. that would've worked well with the series' never-ending nature i think.

we're past that at this point though, and i think really the best thing they can do IS what they're doing currently in idw (and hopefully by extension, the games going forward.)

silver's future has been saved and now he's just here in the present, with no real Reason for being there. i still would prefer if it was him getting straight up Stuck in the present, since that would eliminate the extra layer of complication as to why exactly he was sent back again after the future was saved, but this still simplifies things a lot.

i do hope that going forward, we'll not only get more information as to how exactly silver's time traveling works, but that also they'll phase it out altogether and just transition him to being a character who lives in the present day full time, who just happens to have originally been from the future.

it keeps that part of his character intact without having to constantly deal with this confusing lore that's been established or make excuses for him always being around. yes it'd be a pretty big status quo change, but it's either that or a total outright retcon in my opinion.

that's just my thoughts though. idk let me know what you think
