#IM NOT GOING TO CLAIM ITS LIKE MORALLY WRONG OR SOMETHING I JUST DON'T LIKE IT. IT DISINTERESTS ME DEEPLY#It just makes 97% of anything ever made or related to swatch disinteresting to me immediately its frustrating#i know they have canon character tensions going on between them which is fine but i dont get why exploring them by default has to ship#^sorry i saw cool art that was tagged ship#also sorry to put this here but i don't want to put Fandomy Complaints on my main and this is my swatch blog#.bmp#uh..#complaining#??#i just don't get it but maybe its becauyse im Swatch Brained but like i feel like maybe. it doesnt have to be about spamton sometimes .#maybe swatch can be their own character outside of half of a ship dynamic idk#<- also ALSO. i wrote up a huge thing about how Swatch wouldn't have like severely and permanently disfigured spamton#by throwing him in burning acid. which i intended mostly as like 'swatch isn't just Mean Butler/Barista and nothing else' because i was sic#of them just being used as a prop villain for Spamton#but i really didn't mean it as like. they were closer than they seem in game or that they didnt clearly hate eachother's guts#they very much do not like eachother . like Swatch is SO mad he stole the NEO body they made it clearly meant a lot to them#no doubt they have some bullshit going on but to me making it romantic or whatever doesn't add anything to the interpersonal conflict#this why it is my mission to make swatch art that is not ship sorry

thank you for your answer, in any case I was already very excited by your comic and I cannot wait to read more about it!
I honestly cannot understand the people hating on your work. I feel like fandoms has been invaded by a wave of purity/moral policy that shouldn't exist anymore. it's even more wild to me knowing you're working on a greek myth, and the greek myths are KNOWN to have many versions. that's the beauty of them in my opinion, the way these authors all wrote their own versions and they passed them to us. I love the fact you picked Ganimedes, and you decided to explore both Zeus and him. And the mystery you keep about your relationship really makes me wonder which take you will follow!
and speaking of take, I really enjoy yours on Zeus. Gods are complex beings, and sure they're problematic (like duh) and bad, and everything but it's funny how people will decide which pick for who. Like everybody love Poseidon but oh boy, he can be as bad as Zeus people. So yeah, I am actually excited to read the way you're gonna write him! I don't hate Zeus, sure he does seem one of the "worse" when reading most of the myths, but my favorite thing is the way you can love one god in one story, and hate him in another. they're immortal beings. they're not just black and white. so I happen to enjoy when authors write Zeus as more than just a big bad villain. But I also enjoy when they just don't make him a "sweet lovely daddy".
Oh by the way, I didn't know the version of Metis abusing him and I'll have to look into it! We had a more "feminist" vision of her myth in my class, so it's not something that was talked about hmm.
Also, my bad for saying he died. It was a sum up because of him turning into a constellation. I cannot say we studied this myth so unfortunately I don't have sources to help you on it! It's assumed he lives on forever young but the fact he turns into a constellation is why people think he died?
Thanks! I want to post soon, but I'm so tireeed ;w; I prefer to make people wait and do a good job tho.
About the hate... People re affraid (artists have to much power kkkkk) and we live in a time that you need to share your opnion to get validation. In my case, they need to say that Zeus is bad and hate on him and me so they know they re on the rigth side and have good morals. And even after all this, I think its a good thing they just warning people, that way I can get to my real target that can enjoy characters more complex that re not good or evil, but mess up beings (that includes Ganimedes). And even if people in the end critizied my aproach, its also fine, I dont claim to be perfect and just hope that even to the mad ones, they feel inspired to create their version as well. I think they forgot that, like, they can have their version and will be as valid as mine, dosent matter the story.
(I really enjoy everything about Ganymede, if people go and do their versions, its a plus to me! More about him is best for me heheh. I came across two versions of Ganymede on tumblr and I LOVE BOTH!! I really want to do a fanart of the second one, but I'm a lil afraid if they dont want to interact with me, which is fair, but I'm just judging by the dark aproach on the myth, as a horror story).
Thanks for liking my Zeus u.u I'm really more found of him, as I think about his past, but I'm trying not to focus to much on him! He steals the scene to much!!!
About Metis, its not a version, but a interpretation. I'm looking to see if I find a sourse, but anyway, its intresting, since they met when Zeus was still young. And there re some greek myths with female abusers, so... its something.
Oooh! I see. hm... I never see the constelation as a death, so its not clicking with me, but I understand. Any way, I kinda dont like the constelation, for some reason looks wrong to me, but its a valid version and Im totally using the aesthetic kkkk

Ok im getting off before I lose my shit entirely but one more thing.
A central theme of Supernatural is that a life lived in inactivity isn't just boring, its meaningless, morally wrong, and LITERALLY EQUIVALENT TO DEATH. I saw a post last week saying something like "In Supernatural, Life Is Defined By Making Changes In The World". Complacency, apathy, willful ignorance of the evils in the world- those are shown as AWFUL FATES to befall the characters.
The villains are forces of endless hunger and consumption, war, destruction, and apocalypse. They possess and manipulate rich men and world leaders. The heroes of Supernatural take them down, and protect people.
Saving People.
Hunting Things.
clearly this fandom is nothing like its characters. I don't care how much meta you write or how hard you "Kin UWU", fuck your "shared trauma", if you broke the General Strike for
FUCKING SUPERNATURAL!?!?
you are nothing like Dean. you are nothing like Sam. you are nothing like Cas or Jack or any of them and you would never be a hunter
because you clearly don't give enough of a shit to do the BARE MINIMUM to speak out for human life in the absolute direst of circumstances
fuck you
fuck all of you.
and before you say "ooooh no no no I'M not evil, I just reblogged a few teeny weeny tiny postie wosties. after all we still have to be happy SOMEtimes uwu. what harm is a few tiny teeny postie wosties"
This Is You.
2. literally you could have queued the posts. scheduled them. WAITED ON THEM. the bar is so incomprehensibly low holy SHIT
3. You are trending at #3 currently. The impact of this fandom's harm to Tumblr Strike activities on this day, January 24th 2024, is second only to the fUCKING *PERCY JACKSON FANDOM*. "The Harm In A Few Little Postie Wosties" is in fact both tangible, severe, and actively breaking an ANTI-GENOCIDE STRIKE MOVEMENT.
YOU ARE BEING VERY CLEAR ABOUT WHERE YOUR PRIORITIES LIE. FACED WITH ACTUAL IRL LOSS OF HUMAN LIFE ON A MASSIVE SCALE, YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO GO AGAINST EVERYTHING THIS SHOW STANDS FOR AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU CLAIM TO KNOW AND RELATE TO SO CLOSELY. YOU ARE NOT A WINCHESTER. YOU ARE NOT A HUNTER. YOU WOULD NEVER GIVE ENOUGH OF A SHIT TO *BE* A HUNTER IF GIVEN THE CHOICE.
YOU ARE SIMPLY A REAL-LIFE PLAIN OLD AWFUL HUMAN BEING.

I told him ina french The French media and I would go to beauty school....you can like watch it for urban design or city political management but I mostly ended up wanting to go to beauty school.....
The chimps see if you finally help her notice how sharp and hard the styles energetically are instead of soft and round see if it's soft and round and see how much more pleaseing she is and desiring of being helpful and can do....
Have you seen a more can do attitude if color is not flashing and camouflage and all up in your face moving and bright around but if it is just subdued mono color
Beauty school is like run way....and I was more thinking about steal magnolias and dolly Parton and metropolis and someone finally explaining I may be her
I complete
Well multicultural labor starts being used for white chick so sure there are still lots of jobs to not ask treaties to be loosely interpreted
Many cultures are a lot more invasive then white environmental authority allows and I've learned I have to practice that with who wants to others the animal is barbarous and they just go to it
After compass station I've found marking people up with a lot of tattoos because of an acne that appears to be more a disease....kind of really morally wrong for me but
Anyway I was explaining to him that I had to go to school a very long time so I have watched a lot of feminines starve themselves to death to aquire or achieve some sort of secret
So I more wanted to do palliative nutrition hospice work not mentalism....
Anyway a little curiosity into what happened to them because of my own survivor guilt I end up in domestic abuse because truthfully people notice people can hit me or beat me up a bit and I am fine though truth is for a mental label I am actually kind of psychologically resilient and it doesn't affect me much....
So one episode of seeing the same people who beat me up.....to the people who starves themselves to death was enough for me to only want to know the science not the police facts of why they started killing themselves....
It is like hell....and they really really batter and possess them so it's not relevant to their health care and I don't recommend getting involved
Survivor guilt...i am from the states so I already survived childhood to be pretty docile and refuse to.be moved to action easily....
A lot is behavioural she happened to do something arbitrary I have unconscious aversions to so I stand to benefit a lot here im not sure I want or was given to me....
She accidentally hit a dog with her car where I know I'm too unwell to drive
She didn't tell herself she is too unwell and so got called an immigrant
Im unwell and with other commitments so I don't job....she claims solidarity with homeless communities then benefits from family with jobs also....people a little all over the place start looking debted to too much....
People like me view homelessness as a historic continuity of slavery policy so the indentured servitude or jobs are like my enemy
Its the indentured servitude that claims they act for upper class covens so when the upper class wants to use the street it's not bothered by real life or conscience or reminded of consequences
So people like me asked to job after homelessness find that impossible stolkholm syndrome couldnt take more battery finally helped them rob the elderly bank
I promised her I would only prosecute the compass station.....I do complete class work and experimental drug technology ....I complete experimental living....I do little investigative things for the police so homelessness is like a full time job....it's all the time kept on schedule activity and they bring me to an office and just don't issue me a regular paycheck or tell me their done with the study and tell me of other options
Jobs is just not communist you can't prove other then direct verbal threats to incarcerate without crime commited that their involved and homeless people just kind of around is annoying as anything else ...so that's my uncle vet about involvement in foreign war....it's all encouraged annoying behaviours
I told her the weight loss dictator in south California is so Annoying I can't like people anymore and I miss living in the north where people are a comrade and not people who kill if not family ...
All this she is lonely if not with family that character is Foucault inverse though....
Uhm I was white though and the free white people who eventually took over the masters house did that with Africans.....so I don't enjoy the Indians here they don't do enough the way Chicago does to remove fascistic energy from my life....indigenous peoples if northern get out of my face easier and with more
Olive oatman at Voltaire oops that isn't a native tribe you have always known of and understood and that really hurt didn't it
An Indian mother gives the indigenous people in Chicago these like whole freeways to do weird stunts with cars on and stay away from a grandma's hood....and here they wouldn't give them an Autobahn and they brought that out of context
And that's knowing why my grandparents decided to not extend their lives into their 80s....its inevitable that work to create housing and development will bring fascistic conflict so
To my knowledge restoration and antebellum research is intended towards the homeless not jobs....eli Whitney created the cotton gin so mechanics replaced slavery....no need to pick a row and
The indigenous people in San Diego I thought I could be the type of liberal white character that could greet them very warmly.....and like forgotten kin.....but it is just those people and their like useful for that it's all very....oh yea those people are okay sure we could try that sometimes

its currently 1am in my timezone and I just made this blog on a whim because i cant stop thinling about this stupid thing isaw months ago and its too late to bother my friends about it so hi
i dont remember how long ago exactly but its been a few months- i saw a post calling ouran problematic for the whole "incest thing". at the time i ignored it cause i hate confrontation but sometimes it comes back to haunt me by which i mean annoyingly take up space in my mind
now i havent read the manga, but i did watch the qnime and i believe the post was specifically about the anime. now maybe they just quit it very early on or maybe we just have very different interpretations but the anime i watched did not in fact have any incest in it. it did have kaoru and hikaru playing with that trope at the host club, and iirc trying to shock their nanny at one point? but thats the main thing here, and it's something the anime does a lot, they are playing with the trope.
while i can understand that being enough to cause discomfort i feel like its not only inaccurate but also unfair as i feel like it discredits the way the show makes fun of these common tropes in reverse harem (the genre it's a part of). no actual incest happens in that anime, in fact both brothers happen to have a crush on haruhi as is the rule w this type of anime and i think one of them even decides to step back for his brother.
now why am i rambling about this months after i saw a random post? mostly because im trying to sleep and my brain is going in circles on this topic. but also because it does genuinely bother me.
im not comfortable with incest in the media i consume either, i also know it can be a trigger for some people (then again anything can be a trigger), and some people just dont like it because they think its morally reprehensible to even write about it, while others are huge fans of game of thrones the incest show! im not here to talk morality because thats a whole other topic about howuch you believe fiction affects reality and im not here for that, im here for a stupid too-long anime post about nothing important. the thing is calling it incest when it isn't just feels misleading and once again discredits the thing the show likes to do of mocking these tropes, its silly to point at a parody and claim its supporting the thing its actually parodying. i dont think thats how those work but i could be wrong idk!
i just think that, if you don't like somehing you watched or read or whatever, you can just say so without making up a reason to call it problematic, or taking smth out of context to call it problematic. hell idk maybe there IS smth u could call problematic about ouran, there must be seeing as no media is flawless, i just think calling the hikaru and kaoru bit "incest" kinda downplays actual incest which like. Maybe people are trying to avoid? and maybe some of those people would think the joke is gross while others wouldnt rlly care.
At least specify its not actual incest and ur just uncomfortable w them pretending to be. thats totally fair!!! just dont call it smth it isnt idk
anyway i rlly like these lil shits even if their schtick is kinda iffy kinda weird

more 13 sentinels 60%-?? spoilers
Kisaragi: oh yeah kidaragibot got put into sentinel 16.
Ogata: so natsuno has the d-code key and is calling the kaiju and 426 izumi is protecting her. Moral dilemma time ogata. Wonder how yakushiji got involved.
Amiguchi. Wow he had to deal with kurabe being so weird didnt he. Yeah ida has control issues, took away kisaragibot's free will because she wasnt happy to see him and is now torturing robot izumi for answers. This dude is like a case study for bad ethics technology. 13 sentinels goes hard. Was not expecting to spent my afternoon torturing someone for information. Like as the player i actually have to go and in gameplay inflict pain on this incapacitated person. You didnt lock the door before your torture session? Izumi's right ida's like incredibly self centered its all about him. Oh so 426 as been running around in kisaragibot for a loong time. ... Then the kisaragibot sekigahara met was also probably 426.
Takamiya: nurse morimura calls tamao(bot) tamao but by this point they should be taken over by 426, does morimura know or not? Probably goven she gave yuki the note. Yuki... You are confronting the very dangerous mass murderer conspiracy plotter bomber alone? Without a gun? At least get ei or something to back you up. Ah good it was a trap, because some of the characters here would be stupid enough to do this alone. Another hard to parse conversation. Izumi accuses morimura of derailing the interstellar project to save her own ass, sacrificing 15 lives. Morimura claims the 15 will live happier lives thus way, that "we" can make it out alive. Izumi: denied their future without every knowing why. Oh yeah if the city just ends where the hell in grandma tamao who is suppose to be out of town visiting family?
Kurabe: hold up are you saying the entirety of kurabe's story happens after yuki confronts 426/erika aiba/tamaobot/izumi juro. That really recontextualizes the story becuase that pushes natsuno's story way back and amiguchi's forward. So nurse morimura + yuki + siu trap 426 and shoot him a bunch, he jumps into the river but crawls to the shrine, ei shoots him some more and leaves him for dead when kurabe finds tamaobot with 5 min left and 426 infects kurabs's nanomachines creating shiba.
Shinonone: i dont like ryoko on a personal level as a person but i do think she's a more interesting character than yakushiji who is also primarily romantically motivated (fuyusaka and hijiyama avoid this by being interesting in their own rights). Wow its been years since I've seen a yandere character. Ryoko while pointing a loaded gun: i don't mind you using me but i draw the line at you liking another girl. There are so many things wrong with you the lesbians on tumblr would love you ryoko. Oh the 15... its tamao and okino. I forgot to count tamao last time. Ai hijiyama was in the 2064 fight too? Miura and kisaragi i wonder who else i should make a list some time. Read her mystery file and hey is this the first confirmed kill wow she really did shoot ida dead good for her.
Area 2-5 finally died on intense because i didnt know they had armor so half my team couldn't damage and the ones that did were like single target so i got swamped. I did it... Everyone's half dead but im through
Natsuno: bbbbbjjjjjjjjjjjjj shinonome's whole thing is loss of identity and memory but bj miura lost his human body then his sentinel body then got a hardware downgrade to a cheap drone, had 72% of his memories deleted, and the rest fragmented and and inconsistent, also got repeatedly tampered with. Baby professor chihiro: d-code attaches to the part of the brain where memories are stored and must be physically severed to be removed. Hey isnt that what the dd-426 virus thing does so 426 izumi was trying to remove d-code. I wonder if the magic gun was giving d code back... i need to recheck the mystery files... Ok yeah 426 gave natsuno the d code but also infected the sentinels withe the thing that severs d-cods(and usually kills the pilot) was that all just to control who the pilot was?
Miura: oh 72% stuck in sentinel 17. Natsuno ends up piloting 17 in the final battle though. I'm still not clear what the sectors are physically like are they different parts of a giant spaceship, on different planets, etc. 2188 miura says they have orbital positions but what are they orbiting and are the 3km diameter disks attached to anything?? Nanomachines somehow ended the world? Welp mystery files confirms that the sectors are virtual and i am malding. And there's also space colonies thats the confusing part. There are 5 physical space colonies called sectors and also the virtual reality the game takes places with 5 eras called sectors. If sectors are "virtual residential districts" why would there even be the matrix that amiguchi and takemiya sneaked into. I guess because its recreating the space colony satellite. It's just a weirdly physical constraint to put on something that doesn't have the constraint. Like the virtual spaces/3d models of the sectors are connected but they dont have to be. But then also why are the kaiju there well i guess since project ark is carrying just dna they do have deimos on board or the capacity to build them so the data in there...
Hijiyama: bro... 2188 hijiyama in thicc, but not as thicc as nurse moriyama. 2188 okino literally put humanity in a kaiju survival videogame. Wow that was the most overtly romantic scene yet good for you vanillaware. Hmm i remember from the 2188 miura prof takemiya log earth is lost but the final 2188 hijiyama log something happened to the space colony, a fight broke out? Whether energy should be allocated to project arc or to life support (of the orbital space colony?). He's so stupid, did not have any plan about how to distract nurse morimura (though tbf not sure i could have done better). Scratch that i could have done better. Actually now that i think about it why did the 1940 deimos stop attacking the mainframe (or any of the other destroyed sector's kaiju). There should be a ufo in each sector underneath the school (unless I'm misunderstanding something). Or maybe they stopped because they captured the ufo? Okino says once the deimos contact the mainframe it triggers the shifter which teleports civilians... Somewhere. ...he just eats like 5 yakisoba pan and downs 3 sugary drinks ah youth... I was misunderstanding, deimos successfully reaching the mainframe causes all the people to disappear in the sector. The d-code key being in 1985 means its the last sector to be attacked. The deimos are being manufactured in sector 1 (2105?), So it is a closed system i wondered if the deimos were coming from outside the pentagon but instead they're being shifted around. Whats up with the satellite tomi saw. Mystery file time: yeah kts sooo confusing that the space colony sectors are 1-5 too like 2188 hijiyama died in sector 4 but he didnt die in the 1984 sector 4 of the game. Okino is also a brain surgeon because of course they are , implanted a linking component into hijiyama and miura, wonder what that is.
Finishing off quite a few more stories. With Miura's so they're breaking into a government facility to steal the sentinel wonder how they pull it off. Ogata and takamiya clear.
Natsuno. Wait wait a new pilot will reset a sentinel's stored memory. They need sentinel 17 to retrieve the data logs. But to retrieve the data logs and sentinel 17, it needs a pilot. I can think of 2 solutions that dont involve deleting bj. First find another scout unit or like a usb or a laptop or whatever okino was using or capture one of the droids. Second transfer sentinel 17 to 1944 miura thus keeping the id the same. ... ... And that's how the writers killed my boy.
Sekigahara: siu wanted to show him which log? I dont remember. Oh at the very begining? Didn't that have a recording of himself? Oooohhhh ei was the assassin 2188 gouto hired. 2188 morimura chihiro was a leader in nanotechnology and former executive of the company shikishima absorbed. Morimura's interstellar project was used as part of the justification for buying newman. And this was a cover to move money somewhere else (where?). Morimura continued to work on the interstellar project and this threatens to draw attention to 2188 gouto's illegal finances so he called a hit on her. So morimura alone led the battle of 2024, ida was busy pretending to be dead. Now tht i think of it i havent seen the ida of 2188 yet. Ooooh thats how morimura and ida "went back" 16 years when all shifts are 40 year intervals, the worlds were destroyed in year 16 and recreated setting back to year 1 (or 0 depending on how we are counting). Good use of dramatic irony since the audience knows from the start that ei does eventually agree to operation aegis and gives up on resetting. So ida was probably the one of the other end of sekigahara's communication device. One thing that isn't adding up is ida's role in 1984. He's playing dead for morimura but head of siu and in contact with shinonome and takamiya. If he's ordering sekigahara around why is he sending the black suits after him, like could have eased off a little or sent them on false trails. Wow im so happy ryoko kills ida.
More mystery files. There it is! Nanomachone infection! Thats what caused the end of the world! Somehow... wait not just an infection there was a whole ass nanomachine war. The loops/eras/sectors are specifically the years when the compatible are born, they are created the year they are born and are destroyed when they are 16. When did the izumi murder spree happen then? Oh i see several loops ago morimura and izumi skipped being reset izumi killed the compatible, morimura killed izumi but he escaped death somehow, morimura died getting ida to safety. Ida went to sector 0 and and waiting out the reset and found the younger morimura who had also skipped a reset and now i think these are the ida and morimura that show up in the game... I think
Was just about to say of idas dead i wouldnt put it past him to make an ai of himself he is the android engineer. So before losing his memories ei switched sides and decided to back operation aegis. Aaaahhhh sealing the terminals cuts the city off from universal control, there's the key info. And universal control controls everyone except the compatible so sealing the terminals leaves only the 14 (idk whats up with tamao she got dropped out of the plot) and everyone else disappears. What is up with that satellite! If it's orbiting the real world how have... Kisaragi .... Amiguchi(?) Interacted with it! Damn all the info bombs are dropping in ei's route. 2188's prof morimura sold nanomachines on the black market to fund project arc that is what kickstarted the nanomachine infections that doomed humanity and Earth. 2188 sekigahara bombed the power generators and took out life support for orbital sector 4, is this what led to the fight with ogata, izumi, hijiyama, and okino? Yeah it was the nanomachine infection that wiped out humans. And baby chihiro was the one that killed nurse morimura! Wait if sectors restart the year the compatibles are born why is baby chihiro a different age or is she a newly made clone she probably is i dont remember. My question is how did ei remember morimura in the alley? He should only remember up to the backup not anything after it or am i thinking about this wrong. What is up with that satellite!! Anyways the whole system has become so unstable that there wouldn't be another loop after the current one anyways because sector 0 would be gone or something.
Back to the mystery files. the real world satellite is orbiting around a planet which means the "facility" (sus) that "houses the entire world" (sus) must be nearby to be able to receive data from it. If sector 4 gets taken over all data will be wiped including sector 0. "The lives that everyone has experiences through time would cease to exist for good" what is with that phrasing?? What does that mean?? Oh right sentinel 17 was on a satellite was it the real world satellite morimura is sekigahara's story was talking about?

Hi! I want to hear some of your opinions on the "born evil" trope, why you dislike and find it harmful. I personally dislike it but its a popular trope in fiction so Im glad that you criticized it in regards to Tom Riddle/Voldemort being described as "born evil".
I actually have a handful of posts in my inherent morality tag if you want to check those out.
I'm gonna make a bulletpoint list because that's easier for me, but here's some of my issues with that trope and the idea in general:
(putting it under a cut because it got long and heavy; warning for discussions of child abuse, racism, and religious trauma)
It's EXTREMELY Christian. It's very heavily based on the idea of Original Sin, that you're born wrong and must spend your life atoning for that wrongness because it's just how you are. It's bullshit and I am always going to stand by that.
(Nobody better try to claim that Original Sin is "Abarahamic", I swear to god. Look up any information on it from Jewish and Muslim sources and you'll see that it is 100% a Christian concept.)
It treats morality as something inherent instead of a series of choices and shifting perspectives. "Good" and "evil" are very subjective ideas and what we see as good and what we see as evil are dependent on our own experiences as individuals.
To continue on that, we make choices every single day, every moment of our lives. We are constantly changing as people, even if we don't realize it, and we can always choose to change how we live and act based on new information we have or a desire to be better (or worse). And again, my idea of "better" and "worse" are incredibly subjective and personal to me, and other people will feel differently. The idea that we're born "bad" or born "good" takes away our choices in our own lives.
The idea that children are "born evil" has been used to justify some truly horrific things in the world. So many children end up abused, tortured, traumatized, and even murdered because adults in their lives decided that something about them was "wrong". This was actually a huge part of Tom Riddle's characterization and story in Harry Potter, but it's also something done to real children, especially in fundamentalist Christian communities.
(It's also weaponized against Black and indigenous children especially. Some American Christian sects believe that brown skin is a sign of corruption and rejection of Christ, and therefore those children need to be "saved" or not born at all. In other communities, racist ideas that children of color are more violent or sexual or aggressive combine with the idea that morality is inherent and the results are devastating for those children.)
Finally, the idea of inherent morality explicitly discourages people from trying to change. Why would someone try to be better and be kinder and show more compassion when they're told that no matter what they do, they're always going to be bad? Either because of choices they made in the past or some vague evil they were supposedly born with, there's no reason for them to try to improve because they're convinced that there's something about them that's so terrible that it can never change. We should always strive to learn more and make choices that we feel are better for ourselves, others, and the world around us but people aren't going to want to do that when every choice they've made in the past is always hanging over their neck like a guillotine, declaring them evil and bad for even trying to be better.

hey - this is one of the mods of the bi jon project. we don't actually dislike or disagree with pan jon at all, we just want to make a project focused on and celebrating bisexuality. our carrd is a bit rambling, but frankly we were trying our best/overcompensating to try and make sure people didn't misunderstand us and do - well, this. our intentions are good, and it's really kind of disenheartening to see all the hate we've gotten for what was meant to be a positive project. (1)
you're under no obligation to answer these, but i saw some of your posts in the tag and felt like reaching out because you did give us even the tiniest bit of slack in good faith. honestly, if you have any advice about what in our carrd is so overwhelmingly bad, we'd be happy to hear it. we've been trying to respond to the overwhelming amount of criticism we've got in a positive way, and take peoples' suggestions. (2)
as for why 'no anti-antis' was at the bottom of our rules list, it's legitimately bc we were trying so hard to be preventative about this negativity that we forgot to add it when we first posted the blog, and just remembered later. again, you're under no obligation to answer these, i just feel like no one's really actually letting us defend ourselves/are taking things in as bad faith a way as possible. (3)
im not exactly sure how the posts showed up in the tag bc ive been very purposefully not tagging them, also ive blocked all of you back (not sure why you blocked me if you actually want feedback, so it seems more like you just want free positive pr and not actual feedback) so its unlikely youll see whatever it is that i reply to this but whatever.
the issues have all been repeatedly brought up to you so i dont really see how me repeating all of them once again could help. when i last looked at the cardd the things that stood out immediately included.
pitting ace & bi identities and people against each other REPEATEDLY,
starting off with a guilt trippy tone and maintaining it throughout (in my experience this is the #1 best way to receive backlash because people do not want to participate in events where you feel like youre being guilted into it, which going into scrutinizing detail over there not being enough content and passing judgement onto authors or artists over it is something that comes across as guilt trippy.),
repeatedly equating asexuality with sex repulsion (not to get into the misleading information about modteam aspec identity breakdowns, since you claimed that 3/4 of the team are aspec, which is technically correct, but what you didnt say was that only one is acespec. surely you know that [allosexual] aro and [alloromantic] ace are not interchangeable) and calling using biromantic over bisexual a “misunderstanding” of the identity as if how to define romantic vs sexual attraction (how to divide, if or if not to divide, use interchangeably different labels) isnt a deeply personal choice ace people who experience romantic attraction make,
claiming that bisexual jon is canon (he isn’t. this is why people are suspicious of anti-other mspec identities sentiments. which theyre right, if youll be so kind as to stick around til the last paragraph) and repeatedly implying that the reason there isnt “enough” content centering bi jon because the aces are simply unable to not fixate on his asexuality (again, pitting identities against each other),
making the banned ship list way needlessly confusing and including ships that dont even include jon to it, which simply comes across as some kind of a list of bad ships, idk. a way to bypass this would simply be to say “we are looking for portrayals of healthy relationships!” and that couldve just been it. if you felt that that wouldnt exclude specific ships (eg. jondaisy that a lot of people write as a relationship between trauma survivors who have done very bad things trying to get better and learning to trust each other) it is possible to simply say “the modteam is squicked[/triggered] by ships with daisy/elias/peter and we’d like to read all of the works submitted so we’re asking not to receive submissions with those ships.” hating ships is literally completely normal but making rules hard to parse is going to attract questions, especially when the implication is that ships are excluded on the grounds of morality, and a blatant power difference ship (jonelias) is equated with jondaisy, which is from what ive seen almost exclusively shown to be a relationship between equals. that makes people EXTREMELY confused about where the line is. thats why youre getting so many questions about this.
in general the carrd was spotty, guilt trippy, and needlessly moralizing where it definitely did not need to be. the key to getting people to engage without getting backlash is to make the event seem fun. when your carrd is filled with stuff about unrelated negative stuff people are not going to think it’s a fun event at all.
and none of this even gets into the fact that at least one of the mods has a history of open hostility against pan people. i heard through the grapevine that he has since made a fauxpology about it, but frankly it already shone through in the language used in the event descriptions. its extremely hard to take any of this is good faith when it is easy to see that one of the organizers is quite fucking clear about thinking pansexuality is biphobic and the carrd is or at least used to be full of anti-pan (and other mspec identity) dogwhistles, and is notorious in some of the tma fic author circles for being extremely fucking nasty about trans men writing fic he doesn’t like to the point of pretending that we’re all cis people (in case youre not keeping track that is misgendering us by implication) because he doesn’t like it. i think some of you (or maybe all of you? idk) in general could stand to examine whether your engagements and participations in the fandom have been at all about having fun or adding positivity to anything, or simply making posts about what other people are doing wrong. it seems that every post i see from anyone in this group is guilt trippy and authoritative, and sadly this translated directly into the event.
when youre, say, a trans man whose first touch to one of the mods was a post about how fic where trans men have piv sex with cis men is hurting him personally and making it a moral issue and not a matter of a simple preference to the point where he feels comfortable making claims about the trans men (and transmasc nonbinary people) writing fic about trans characters re: their gender or whether theyre fetishizing trans men, your willingness to engage in good faith with an event hosted by him that features numerous red flags is not going to be unconditional.
im sorry to hear that it has been bad for your mental health, and idk whats fucking going on with this event anymore, but my good faith interpretations have diminished significantly since i saw the shit tmc specifically has been saying about pansexual people and pansexuality as an identity label. i have no clue where the rest of you stand but tmc has repeatedly, consistently shown himself to be unable to act in good faith towards anyone other than people who agree with him.

Book anon!! Seeing the boys be back feels so wild in a good way like suddenly we have so much happening from pics, video performances, future jun solo stuff again and hoshi solo!?! To speculate, the spider logo gives me Spiderman vibes so is this hoshi saying he is Peter Parker lol? Like I know I said I missed the boys but my gosh they don't have to dump EVERYTHING on us lol
To slightly still talk about the mingyu situation (which I hope its alright!) I found something annoying during all of this that you echoed and some anon's said and it was how QUICK some fans were dismiss OP1 with her experience and feelings, making it seem like mingyu is the one that had it worst. Now by all means, it is upsetting to know that yes this will follow mingyu and the rest of the boys till the end of time. Sadly we cannot change that, all we can do is correct people on the situation so I do kinda feel bad BUT to say mingyu is "completely innocent and not at fault" makes me confused because ??? He isn't, not fully. Do people forget that he ADMITS to saying jokes. Yes not towards OP but he still said such jokes and to me, that doesn't mean he is innocent. He admits his faults and takes accountability to that, I give kudos for ya know? Like yes he is my bias but my gosh I am not going to claim he didn't do wrong when well...he did. It frustrates me that fans suddenly forget that the main cause of chaos (at least internationally for fans) was of that horrible mistranslations. I'm sure kfans were also upset but seeing icarats demand pledis to S word OP1 when that isn't the right mindset. I had some hope fans would be smart, especially after the news we found out about mistranslations and all but looks like this fandom isn't safe from bad apples =/ this makes me confused like how do people just idk, not have their morals i guess, when it comes to their faves?
For me, where i stand with mingyu is im disappointed that mingyu said jokes but I'm willing to give him a chance so to speak, like I'm a bit more ok with say reblogging content a out him. For anons that I saw who said they need time, that is valid! It is ok to take a step back from the member, group or fandom! This fandom space should make you happy and comfy and with what has happened, things are rocky and your feelings are valid! Never doubt yourself for overthinking or saying you're a bad fan bc you are not. If you do decide to leave the fandom, I hope despite the dark cloud with what happened, you can remember the warm sunshine (aka happy moments) from the fandom and boys. Its ok to no longer be a fan, things change and we change as people. It is also ok to not be apart of the fandom while being a fan (how im sort of in with bts). It may seem like you're the only one feeling like this but you are not! Do what makes you comfy to my fellow carats! If you are ready to comeback, I am here with cookies. And if not, I am also here with cookies!
*clears throat* to move on a bit, for the hybe naming, ahh that makes more sense! Thanks for clearing that up, I guess I miss read the article I read. I saw you mentioned pledis might be moving and oof, that kinda hurts. I sort of thought they wouldn't due to it just being an investment but should have seen it coming. I will miss that green room
right? it kind of feels like they went from 0 to 100 with the content dhfkfj
and yeah i agree, it's frustrating that it seems like a lot of people can't see or understand the nuance of the situation. i think maybe some people are trying to overcompensate for the mistranslations which had such serious accusations, and i think others are just uncomfortable with the idea that celebrities can make mistakes and be forgiven (as in, they think the only way celebs can be "forgiven" is if they were completely innocent in the first place. otherwise they must be cancelled and since they don't want to cancel mg he must be 100% innocent!). but i don't think either of those, or any reason really, justifies the lack of compassion for any of the OPs. it's possible to have conflicts where no party is a villain, actually
i do think the correct response for carats as a whole is to start moving on. the conflict between OP1 and mingyu has been resolved between the two of them, and the other claims were proven false. if OP1 is satisfied, there's no need for carats or non carats to call for mg to be punished further. but on the other side of that, which as you mentioned is more of a problem currently, there's no reason to punish (ie sue) any of the OPs. as i said in my other post, the OPs are still victims even if mg wasn't the perpetrator of the other claims. if even an institution whose primary purpose is to make money (ie pledis) can look at the situation and be like 'hey, it wouldn't be right to try to prosecute these people so we're not going to' then i think that's a sign that to sue these people would be unjust
but also to clarify when I say carats as a whole should move on i mean there's no collective action we can or should take that would be helpful. i don't mean that every individual should force themselves to move on before they're ready. as I've said before and as you've said, i think any carat that needs more time to process and isn't ready to go back to doing normal fan stuff, or those who won't ever be and decide to leave the fandom are totally valid! i second everything you said in that regard, everyone should do what makes them most comfortable ^^
also you say it makes more sense but you may have been right in the first place OTL. i mean what i said before about there being 3 different entities is true. before there was Bighit co. ltd, Bighit labels, and bighit entertainment. We know Bighit co. ltd is being renamed to HYBE and we know that bighit entertainment is Not being renamed, but it's the Bighit labels that's where the confusion lies. i /thought/ bh labels wasn't being renamed but i watched their rebranding presentation since i answered your last ask and it sounds like it is being renamed to HYBE labels. they haven't changed the youtube channel name yet though which is kind of what I'm waiting for so i guess we'll see?
yeah people have been talking for ages about how all the artists are gonna be in the new building and i was always kind of skeptical. i thought it was more likely that pledis would just have a few offices in the bh building rather than relocating their Entire Company lmao but it looks like that's what's happening. it is a nice facility, but yeah it's a bit bittersweet to say goodbye to both of the pledis buildings since so many things happened there 😭

anyways i lied bc this is something i need to get off my chest
this! this is where i draw the line because truly honestly what is wrong with op like i'm not trying to be funny but truly what is wrong with you cisharry. my opinions are based on my own understanding of the trans community outside of fandom and online spaces. and yeah transfems are the only people who really have the authority to speak on this stuff because 95% of the time anti trans rhetoric is directed at them, not us tmes, and it's about time we need to start realizing that we can’t adopt their struggles. that’s not me “realizing” that trans/nb people are the ones steering this conversation, it’s just me understanding transfem voices are more important. not to mention the erasure of gnc men/transmasc or fem gay men from this convo, who deserve to have their input before we do
you mention me on a “transphobic larries list”, a list made by a troll who sent death threats and gore to my friends?? someone who tried to come for me because i said the very same things i continue to say to this day; expression does not equal identity! especially if you take the time to read what he’s saying and just understand that clothing is just an outlet of creativity/something he thinks is neat and that’s all. any questioning involving identity has been answered about sexuality, not gender. i beg anyone who’s reading this to read about how we assume behaviors equal something that’s internal! we cannot simply assume because someone does something gnc that they aren’t cis or aren’t straight. especially since in the incident in question, it was a cis person talking about how they have “receipts” on how harry isn’t cis like its something we are owed, or blatant misinformation. and i was attacked for that, you’re so hellbent in convincing yourself that you are right that you find validation in a troll wanting to harm me and people i care about. go fuck yourself cisharry
i said this before and i’ll forever say this. you claim this is about uplifting trans people and finding a collective identity and seeing yourselves in harry. that is fine! i am not against that, what i am against is the fact that there is y’all are framing this as a “trans harries and allies” vs “blouies” and that is disgusting! this is being reduced to some moral top/bottom discourse, it’s weird and fetishistic and if you allowed yourself to take the genuine valid criticisms people have had about you then you’d understand. leave me out of your larrie shit, i am not taking a “blouie side” im taking a normal and reading on and about the community side and all that means is, you can’t project your identities to real people. that shouldn’t be controversial but yet here we are! and it’s so weird that if its not an offshoot from the fanfiction preference discourse, why do you answer anons that make it out this way?? why did you attack another black person on their art and stylistic choices for being ~blouie centered~? why do you keep calling people who disagree with you “blouies” especially since i know you are very well aware i am not a larrie and i don't ascribe to this shit. it’s all very conflating fandom and real life issues
and fuck your whole black solidarity bullshit. no really it being scattered around while you’re shitting on me and making me out to be a terrible person because im a transphobe that enables cis people to be transphobic (even tho the majority of the people that have talked to me about their discomfort with you and people like you have all been trans), and we all say the same thing because we engage in our transness outside of fandom spaces.. imagine that. imagine allowing people to attack another black person in this fandom because you wanted to be a bully but y’all weren't ex-mutuals... imagine that! imagine not making your whole Internet personality a wannabe bully who cowers behind tags posts instead of just saying shit to my face... fan behavior to me! a whole witch hunt from your dogs because we dont share your wack ass opinion... fan behavior to me!
#i'll admit i did fuck up in the situation that happened last year in going off an anon's accusation and it was wrong#i was highly upset because people i care about were being sent threats on their life threats on [redacted] and gore! actual gore for a celeb#but i should've been more rational about the situation and i do apologize for that#I really wasn’t going to say anything until the whole ‘siarra is an outspoken black fan but here’s why they should be that outspoken’ nigga#you talked about me like im some frigid bitch and mention unrelated things bc you felt some type of way about me changing my views#I can show you frigid bitch lol#y'all need to deplatform this person fr bc im sick of this shit#and before y’all start im not calling harry straight im saying anyone can be gnc.. literally anyone#and if you read this bc i know your dogs will send this to you... im not debating nobody w mpreg hc that shit’s embarrassing

Im trying to figure out if I believe in astrology. So... ppl doing charts/readings of celebrities and ppl they don't know irl bring up sexuality a lot... How on earth can astrology tell you a persons sexuality? It's not like you can say all Scorpio Venus are gay or all Taurus moons are bi, so??? Not just orientation, but fetishes and preferences... Some1 told me caps are into bby girl/princess stuff and like roleplaying their first time and, as a cap, I was like no I don't??? It just seems dumb
hey there! 💓❤️💓 honestly ive no idea about the assuming sexuality (i.e. “scorpio venus are gay or taurus moons are bi”) – thing?? Thats wack as hell i’d probably be on the fence about astrology if i heard that too, ‘m sorry u got hit with that right off the bat?? ;; 💓❤️💓
The second part about fetish and preferences - the statement ‘caps are into bby girl/princess stuff’ is pretty generalized and I don’t agree with it personally On a technical level it’s very presumptuous and seems almost like a blanket-statement? If they’re going to say that, there should be placements and specificity involved. An expansive explanation helps when it’s not just ‘vibes’ bc there’s – uh, alot of things that people do pull out out of nowhere and claim that it’s true just because it seems the most fitting to their story/narrative/vibe impressions they got off of someone?
So let me clarify? The whole point of this (astrology - to me) is that we’re trying to decipher and learn about expressions, which I understand can be taken to different context (i.e. sexual in nature, romantic in nature, friendship, family, work, life, “horoscopes”, the future) – it’s ‘divination’ by definition (if you look up the term ‘astrology’) - you don’t have to believe it, it’s just the want to know and the ability to give it a chance, that matters? 💓❤️💓
If you look at it this way - learning the history of how it was practiced, why generations of civilization have used/done with it – (from different cultures no less! Something we all have in common is the sky above us!) – how and why the method is used, the theories behind it – is pretty interesting in itself. As a concept alone. Isn’t it curious? Maybe not about this topic, but another topic if it’s what you’re into. But I think that’s enough of a reason for people to study it if it does fit their boat/perk their fancy?
To me personally it was never about ‘omg my luck next year is going to be the shit’ or ‘caps are all into role-playing’ but I get curious about why that was said, what basis, does it have any workings behind it? Most topic does! If you look deep enough, but it also depends on context and what you make of it as well.
I think the main point is that its all just theories. Testing and running it over again and again is normally the way we go about marking down data if its successful or not.
‘People doing chart readings of people they don’t even know’, ‘bringing up their sexuality’ and ‘fetishization and preference’ seems to be asking about the ethical and moral issues of astrology and to what extent astrologers should use it (note that its a choice, with the information you hold - how much should you do it and in what way. Consequences you’ve considered, and consequences you haven’t considered but will affect those who are influenced by it)
The disregard and/or breach of personal information of another person - perhaps a minor or someone who explicitly have said/would want to keep their information private (to not get exploited/ruined/made assumptions about or defamed unintentionally/intentionally by the mass/parasocial ideas from fans or “others”) – is definitely a topic we (in the community) should talk more in-depth about to get clarity/general consensus about (without witch-hunting or hurting anyone in this scene)
The need to have information accessible for individuals who might find it as a gate-way to the community, or a student who’s studying it to gain more information/resources to go from – versus the subject/context/person themselves should be a no-brainer that we pick the latter over the former. There are appropriate, clear, well-researched accessible information in whatever context people want to explore astrology techniques/topics out there. Its just a matter of ethics and morals - and consequences of ‘what happens when you expose someone to uncomfortable information/situation’ as well that should be considered?? Not just from a technical stand-point of ‘this is information and we should use it’ - but with more regards to the personal livelihood and respect for others as well.
This is a long answer - but to simplify - Some of the ethical/moral issues you brought up is important, I don’t shy away from discussing it openly on my blog anyways.
To me astrology is a topic that is just that; a topic. It can help if you want it to help (intentionally, through astrologer’s discretion - but it can help those unintentionally as well!) – and it can hurt if you want it to hurt (intentionally or not - perhaps more so unintentionally or in worst cases, intentionally)
It’s a tool, the astrologer is the one who wields the tool. How they choose to wield it matters. Astrology itself is just a topic - whether you chose to ‘believe’ in it or not doesn’t really matter? It’s a subject you can study, get better at it and gain from it. The idea that it could be learnt meant that the person doesn’t have to believe it or experience it personally to excel at it. Its just easier to fact-check against ourselves, our personal experience (but again, that comes with personal bias as well). Because again, it’s about data and studies - experiences tallies and % of success versus failure. Outliers, etc. Seeing how much this ‘checks out’ as a theory (a big pile of theories) came from the underlying curiosity of why this happens, how it could be used/applied for generations, what is it about. Again– that’s enough of a curiosity (if it fits your specific boat) to embark on the journey.
Last note, lack of discretion is bad in any context/situation, but I don’t and won’t shame people who know discretion and is using it to smartly address the topic of sex in a safe and healthy manner (to those around them and the subject they’re handling) – If they know what they’re doing, takes responsibility for themselves/their audience/the topic they’re handling– it’s not a subject I’m interested in talking about myself (im pretty much, kinda just an ‘oh cool’ about it), but I don’t see anything wrong with just the core-concept of just talking about sex as long as it’s done well - with conscious, and with respect to others?
Astrology and sex have been (at least in mainstream) linked together and seems? almost exploited somewhat, most people who do talk about it (from what i’ve seen and I definitely haven’t seen everything) – just seems to be comfortable and confident in themselves, comfortable about the topic, and is just as much responsible and putting as much weight into consciously thinking about their audience/what they want to do as other – astrologers who talks about traditional astrology or light-hearted stuff sometimes.
I definitely get that astrology has also been used (atleast from what i’ve seen?) – as a scrape goat for ‘no moral, unethical sexual stuff u might want to know about ur idols’ as well (im not making fun this is not my own words, i’ve legit seen someone wrote this word for word) – both by assumption that all astrology contents are the same, astrologers are the same, or by examples of people who became popular and gained notoriety for their content – or even examples of those who do just lack discretion and just Do Not Care. Idk? Either way, yeah it’s unfortunate if it’s the last example but I hope you find someone who fits your bill if you’re still looking into it!

I have a genuine question and I don't want to so come off sounding as bitchy or anything. Like I understand you personally hate Felix but what's the big deal if other people like him? Some people just like villain characters it doesn't make them bad people by extension. You don't have to say shit like "your opinion doesn't matter" or whatever that post was
you’re fine anon! when i say “felix stans” im referring to a very specific bunch of people, not people who like felix, or even just like villains in general.
(yikes sorry anon this ask got really long so a cut)
felix stans are generally people who admit to deeply relating to and projecting onto felix, and while relating to and projecting onto characters is fine in of itself (i personally relate to wash and will project onto him from time to time!) when someone says that they relate to a character like felix, who is a canonical narcissistic liar, manipulator, murderer, and abuser, basically your textbook sociopath its.....sketchy to say the least.
that’s not my main problem with felix stans though, my main problems with felix stans are:
they ship lolix, and in doing so they romanticize, sexualize, and idealize the abuse felix put locus through as his abuser. as an abuse survivor im extremely against anything that so much as even hints to showing abuse in a positive light. im extremely against it because fiction does impact reality, but thats a conversation for another time.
they usually romanticize, sexualize, and idealize other forms of abuse and morally wrong and harmful content such as rape, pedophilia, incest, and others in addition to the above under the excuses of “im coping!!! uwu” and “its just fiction it cant hurt people!” which is complete bullshit. if fiction cannot hurt people, fiction cant help people either, so graphically writing and drawing about the so called “trauma” that they have “suffered” through, especially in a positive way where they have people commenting about how sexy it is and how it makes them all hot and bothered is in no way helping them “cope” with it. (i put trauma, suffered, and cope in quotation marks because i believe a majority of the people who do the above haven't actually been through the trauma they claim they have, and they just want to use the “im coping” card as a way to avoid the criticism and consequences of their gross art and fic)
they take anything anyone says that is even just barely alluding to being negative about felix, including jokes, as if you just told them you killed their pet. the first example im going to give involved a friend, who is trans for the record, making a joke post involving felix. in the tags of the post he explicitly states that its a joke and that he was making fun of the way cis artists often draw trans characters and in specific was referencing rcdart or whatever their url was, who is known for drawing ridiculously and fetishy proportions when it comes to trans characters. the post itself was a picture of felix as he appears in s14 with a filter applied that gave him comically large hips, and the image was captioned with something like “my trans felix hc!! heart emoji heart emoji” the 2nd example is my own experience involving a felix stan, and im going to give some background information that you can read here* because this ask is already long, but a tldr; i made a badly worded post dissing white content creators but it came off as racist and in specific had a diss about felix in it. despite apologizing and later clarifying what i had really been trying to say I was continuously harassed by a felix stan and all of said felix stans friends (all of whom are 21+) because of that harassment, irl events at the time, and stress from previous harassment i had a breakdown and the event traumatized me. just talking about the event is triggering for me as it has me on the verge of tears and my heart has been racing for about an hour and a half now.
*i will insert the link later, the tldr explains why

What are your thoughts on the concept of afterlife? What do you suppose happens after someone dies? Do they pass through a judgment so their next fate is decided, reincarnate, or does something else happen to them?
the afterlife isnt something i really think about too much since im technically religious but im not nearly as faithful as i should be? but despite all that i dont actually have much of a solid idea on what it could be. media that deals with the concept is always interesting since there really is no way to tell or even guess while we're still down here, huh.
death as a whole is a really weird thought bc like.. what does happen to the conciousness? how does someone just.. die? stop thinking and feeling? the world cant go black because that would odd mean youre seeing something. its really really weird when you realize it actually will all end and we don't know anything about how or the details.
i guess that's partially why other people feel so much more attached to their own religion? they dont like thinking that this might just be the only time we have. sort of off topic but in my opinion, thinking too much about what happens after death and taking reincarnation or a final resting place for granted may not be the best idea, because it often seems to prevent people from living the most meaningful lives they can.. right now.
we dont actually have any way to confirm, and if you keep on waiting for the next round or whatever, you might be disappointed. thats somewhat hypocritical of me to say considering that i was absolutely hooked to the idea of reincarnation for unknown gender issues as a child, but.. yeah.
in order for there to be a judgement for dead souls, there would first have to be judgers. maybe it is like death parade, where thats their only purpose, or just an automated system checking boxes, or maybe we do have a higher power of sorts that decides on our fate and final placement? if that is true, then it would only have to apply to people. human moral isn't something you can use to judge other creatures. and since we havent actually been here that long, does that mean whatever judging system was created when we were as it had no purpose before our existence?
and reincarnation is.. well. it is entirely possible that theres only so many souls, and a limited number you can create again, i suppose. i just dont really put as much value on the thought of that one just bc of the sheer amount of people claiming they are 😭😭 itd definitely be interesting if we had a cycle like that, but once again. how did it start, and what will happen when it inevitably have to end?
people talk about these concepts as if humans arent just an outlier, a tiny little blip on the earth's greater timeline. why do we even need to be judged? who says we're worthy? why is there such a burden on right vs wrong anyways, are our whole lives the year leading up to christmas when santa decides if weve been good or bad? its just all so amazingly. subjective, i guess. everyone is morally grey to some degree no matter what else they may wish to believe.
if all your sins and all your good deeds add up, thatll still never really show 'who you are a person' death parade style, because theres no real way to tell. a final resting place would be nice, but having to constantly consider if any singular thing i do could send me tl be punished for eternity doesnt sound very fulfilling. getting yet another chance of life while still being dumb and making the same bad choices sounds a little bit better, but i wonder if we have a time limit on how many? my curiousity and questions seem to be boundless, but this particular area will never be one you can find one true answer to.
as usual, i rambled a LOT a lot but <//3 it is 6am cut me some slack if i phrased anything weirdly (which i for sure did). itd be neat to make our own media to explore the idea of the afterlife ourselves, i guess!! theres just a lot to unpack there and no way to prove or back up any of it. thanks for the question and sorry for the spam 😭😭

Literally this whole conversation stemmed from the context of some lesbians (and anons who may not be lesbians) coming onto my blog and calling me a lesbophobe for having experiences they decided are only for lesbians like the point is continually going over your head. That is the comment. That is the context. It's absurd to claim that there are experiences that are 100000000% factually only for lesbians and anyone who doesn't personally identify as a lesbian can not have that experience. Including but not limited to: reclaiming a homophobic slur, being butch/femme, experiencing comphet, being gnc, suffering from corrective r*pe, etc there's many many other things I've seen people argue but those are the big ones. Just because YOU can't understand how a bi woman could be impacted by it doesn't mean it doesn't happen and i've tried explaining it to you several different ways and you just deflect with "I just don't see how a nonlesbian could be impacted by this". I'm not saying lesbians don't have their own experiences or experiences with certain nuances, just that you literally can not stand on a soap box and get mad at bi women who also have those experiences and claim that they are liars or trying to steal things from lesbians. (Which again, not saying you are doing this but people factual do do that on this website quite frequently and with much enthusiasm, which is again the context of the original post that you are acting like doesn't exist) You can't twist my words and then pretend like you have the moral highground because I have a less than nice tone because people have literally told me to kill myself in great gorey details for saying I'm a dyke with experiences that heavily line up with lesbians and many experiences that fall under what people FALSELY say is the "lesbian only" category.
People who share this kind of opinion are factually repeating rhetoric that can be dated back all the way to the terfs of second wave feminism and lesbian separatism and most of these arguements I see literally are just puritanical "lesbians do not suck dick and bi women oppress us" puritanical terf bullshit. Sometimes its actual terfs that say these things, sometimes it's people with "no terfs" in their bio that happen to agree with the arguement. If you'd like I would be more than happy to screenshot as many biphobic lesbian terf posts as you'd like, and people who reblog similar if not identical arguements but also aren't terfs, if you aren't sure that this actually happens. I have in my inbox and some asks lying around of anons who claim to be lesbians that are very adamant about my position to privilege as a dick sucker and that I can't be a dyke or experience targeted misogynistic homophobia or comphet because those things are only for lesbians.
Also this conversation was never about bi or gay men, not sure what the relevance is. I can talk about lateral aggression between the lesbian and bi communities without implying that problems don't exist for gay and bi men.
And conversely I do in fact think its wrong to say "this is something only bi women experience. no lesbian will ever experience this" any bi woman who thinks that they have no community with lesbians and their experiences are incomprehensible to all lesbians on the planet as a broad sweeping statement is a dumbass and a liar, which is the point im trying to fucking make with the inverse. I don't know why you keep trying to bring this up as a gotcha.
you’re the one getting your information from wikipedia.. i’ve spoken about comphet with hundreds of other lesbians- it’s false attraction to men we have forced upon us. you as a non lesbian, as a bi woman- have attraction to men. Even though you call yourself a lesbian 24/7 by calling yourself a dyke which dyke=lesbian by definition
Wikipedia has this amazing thing called sources. The things I screenshooted are literally from the essay where Adrienne Rich coins the term. Adrienne Rich is also a #lesbian queen that people love to quote here, because tumblr is obsessed with white lesbians that posit lesbianism as the only morally superior sexuality for feminists. I'm glad your dozens of lesbian sources also don't know what comphet means. Have you tried asking a bi woman how coercive heteronormativity impacts them? Or done literally any research into the term at all beyond your own insular hugbox? Or even once talked to a bi women in a non demeaning anon ask?

Hey! Those are some really good points, thanks for bringing those up.
Im so sorry that you came back into the fandom only to be disappointed again by the apparent arc of the sequel; I've certainly been in that position with other franchises, and it's not an easy pain. It's almost like grief, but not quite. Like the death of an outcome you hoped for? It's hard to describe.
Anyway, responses to your points:
1) Oh it's a definite possibility to idolize the creators, and I agree they aren't gods above criticism. They made decisions even in the first movie that I personally wasnt quite on board with. I think they'd be the first to tell you that they're imperfect people.
What rubbed me the wrong way about some of the criticisms I've seen is the claim that the sequel is nothing more than a money grab. I'm sure Jen and Chris were under some financial pressure after the success of the first movie, and I don't think it's cheapening their work to say money might have been ONE motivating factor. But to imply they didn't care about the characters, went with a cop-out ending for the sequel, or only had dollar signs in their eyes... I don't think those are accurate statements.
(I'm not saying YOU believe that, of course- but in retrospect I think those were the criticisms I was combating in my original post.)
Also just for good measure- everyone is allowed their opinion. Everyone is free to criticize Disney for their decisions. I think I just feel a moral imperative to defend the franchise I love so much. You definitely don't have to agree with me, and I'm not trying to make you- I only bring all these things up to spin a little perspective on what felt like mass panic LOL. I'm a staunch supporter of healthy coping, which is what I'm trying to nurture.
2) This has more to do with the philosophy of art/authors/meaning, I think, than Frozen in particular. Does the value of a work depend on the creators' intention, or the audience's reaction? Can something have merit but be disliked? Could the audience know the work better than the creator?
To that last one: yes, in theory. I just don't think that's the case here. You might, which is totally fine!
Insomuch as you call an ending bad or good depending on whether you liked it is very very valid, but it is subjective, and subjectivity isn't the only way to evaluate a work.
And it just boils down to taste, I suspect. I'm not a massive Harry Potter fan, but it's obvious the series is a landmark piece of literature. I'm speaking of "good" here as a more objective measure of art, in the sense that it accomplishes what it intended. Harry Potter does that. Its ending is somewhat bittersweet, but that doesn't make it bad.
For Frozen, I think we're facing a bittersweet ending as well. That doesn't mean the plot is poorly executed or unsuccessful. That doesn't mean the characters lose essential parts of themselves. That doesn't mean the creators don't know what they're doing.
Again, you're absolutely welcome to believe the ending to Frozen 2 is just... bad. No one can take your opinion away from you. And that's a very good thing!! The beauty of derivative art means we're free to write fanfic of our own endings, and draw and dream of the sisters together forever in whatever way we please.
I guess I just believe, perhaps paradoxically, that it's possible to not have something go our preferred way, and still be content with it. And that accepting this dynamic is actually pretty peaceful. Not being completely bound to (or emotionally dependent on) our expectations is hard, but ultimately freeing.
I really REALLY hope Elsa doesn't become an immortal goddess of unity. But what if she does? I can't say I'll be overjoyed. I might cry. I'll definitely rant about it on Tumblr. But then I'll accept it, because I love her, and if that's what her story called for, I can learn to make peace with it.
I know it all sounds very romanticized and like I said, it's not easy to navigate all these feelings of grief and confusion, much less consider accepting the finality of Frozen 2 if we disagree with it. And again: you're incredibly free to not accept the movie as canon, or at least the ending, if it causes you devastation. I'm going to try and keep an open mind as the release date draws nearer, and hold off on any final opinions until then (because only then will I know how to cope, ha!)
Frozen 2, the spoiler debacle, and the dehumanization of Elsa
Hello there! Let’s talk. (Warning: this post will contain some of the leaked spoilers. Read at your own risk!) You may notice this is my first and only post on this blog. I started this side-blog just to iterate my opinions on Frozen in an anonymous setting, and my main account isn’t suited for that. As for me, I’m a 26-yo Frozen fan. Elsa is my favorite fictional character of all time; she means a lot to me. By day I work as a graphic designer in the southern US, by night I struggle to sleep. Really exciting life.
Anyway, because I’m human trash, I read the spoilers. I sought them out. I kind of regret it. Initially I was shocked, hurt, betrayed, and uneasy about the apparent direction this movie is going in. And the more I read about people’s backlash & opinions, the more my understandings were bolstered. People have a lot to say about this. People get very up-in-arms about the direction their fictional characters take.
Let me start by saying that if you are staunchly opposed to the PERCEIVED ending of the movie, I’m probably not going to change your mind. I’m writing this for those people like me who are just confused, uncertain, worried, and anxious. After all, we have a whole month until this movie is released. Are we going to have to live in this limbo for another month?
After reading a lot of accounts & interpretations of Frozen 2, I want to say: no.
If the implied ending is in fact how the movie ends- separation of the sisters, Anna as sole monarch, Elsa as the fifth spirit- I’ve made my peace. And you can too (Excuse me while I sound like an infomercial.)
First, let me play devil’s advocate and pull some of the speculation apart from the facts:
- Regarding the pages from the art book, we don’t know if Elsa relinquishes her title to Anna. There’s nothing saying they’re not co-rulers. It notes that Anna inherits the throne from the “queens before her,” including Elsa, but this could be interpreted as “Elsa was queen first,” NOT “Elsa is no longer queen.”
- We don’t know if Elsa becomes a goddess, immortal, or some ethereal being. There is mention of her becoming the fifth element, but this could be a descriptive characteristic, NOT prescriptive (ie, she doesn’t need to “transform” to become it, she is it by simply being herself.) If that even is true. It’s just as likely that the bond of Elsa-Anna is the bridge/fifth element, not Elsa herself. AND if the fifth element is the harmony between humanity & spirit, Elsa can’t become un-human to fulfill that role, or she becomes wholly spirit… which is what Pabbie warned against in “losing herself” to magic. Also note that “transformation” was used to describe Elsa in her Ice Palace in the first movie. It didn’t mean she became inhuman, it meant she became more herself.
- We don’t know the nature of their “separation,” if there even is one (the leaked book pages talk about different roles only, and the Foreword of the art book only alludes to them living different lives.) The picture of Elsa riding away on the Nokk & waving? That doesn’t mean she’s leaving forever. Hell, she could be off to save Olaf from a wolf.
- We don’t know that there are two separate Epilogues chronicling their separate journeys. The Color Script page has two boxes labeled “Epilogue.” It also has two pages labeled “Dark Sea.” Are those two separate scenes? Or just two color schemes? Given the context of the sheet’s title… I’m going with the latter.
We know very little about the context of the movie to make these judgements anything more than speculations. Take a deep breath. The movie isn’t ruined.
However, if these things turn out to be true, we can still be at peace with the decisions made at Disney Animation by preparing an open mindset. Here’s how I’ve been processing it, and how I’ve come to defend the creative team regardless of their decisions for Elsa & Anna. The Perception of Wrongdoing There are a few specific implications in the spoilers that rubbed me the wrong way. I’d been optimistic for the movie until this morning when I pored over everyone’s interpretations. I don’t like the idea of the girls being separated. I don’t like the idea of Elsa no longer being queen (at least, in royal title via her family line. Snow Queen is a different honor.) I don’t like the idea of Elsa becoming something more than human, a spirit or goddess or force of nature. Elsa is beloved because of her humanity. In fact, I think the first Frozen was beloved because of its humanity. We saw the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of its two heroines and we fell in hard, deep love with the story. We’ve had so many years to marinate on that story over and over again that it’s become cozy and familiar, a hygge of itself.
And when we’re faced with the prospect that our favorite story’s world is about to be flipped on its axis, we panic because it feels vulnerable. We’ve put so much love and time into this franchise and we feel helpless to watch other people- the people who are, in fact, in charge- make decisions about it. Dehumanization
Because of my love for Elsa, I’ll speak about her as an example, though this applies to any aspect of the story we feel is “wrong” in the sequel.
There are two ways to dehumanize someone. One is to think of them as worthless; the other is to idolize them.
It’s not a secret that Elsa is one of the most idolized fictional characters of our time. Some of her creators even fell a little bit in love with her, as admitted by Jennifer Lee. She was written as someone who is inherently beautiful, but fragile and unsure of herself. She is kind, gentle, wise, and compassionate. Even her flaws- her penchant for being too reserved, her anxious and worried nature- are romanticized into beauty. Moreover, her flaws as characteristics rather than actions make it difficult for us to perceive her as anything other than our perfect, honorable Snow Queen.
Codependency, by definition, involves the idolatry of another human. Obviously Elsa being fictional doesn’t make her codependent to anyone, as it’s not a mutual relationship. But the idolatry is there. We feel we “need” her to be and act a certain way to fulfill our desires.
So when we hear word that she’s acting in a way we don’t like? We get scared. Perhaps we didn’t understand her the way we thought we did. Perhaps we’re not as “close” to her as we thought. Perhaps it feels like a betrayal.
Jennifer Lee & Christopher Buck know Elsa better than we do. We project our own experiences onto the character of Elsa because she’s so unique and still relatable. But her creators are the ones who know her wholly, truly, as she is. Jennifer Lee wrote journals to “listen” to Elsa & Anna, and their respective stories. They employed mental health professionals to analyze the characters and help determine arcs that would make sense. They care a lot about what these sisters do and feel, and no one- not even you or me- is more committed to playing these characters truthfully. This is something that idolatry blinds us to. The image of Elsa in our heads doesn’t match the expression in the sequel, and we get scared of the cognitive dissonance. Who is Elsa if she’s not the Queen? Who is Anna if she’s not living with her sister? We panic because what we THOUGHT we knew is suddenly revealed to be a lie. We imagined the ending of Frozen 2 to be an idyllic family setting, when in fact it might stretch our definition of “family.” All that to say: it’s okay to be scared of what this movie might reveal about characters we thought we knew. The familiarity of the first movie is being challenged. But growth can’t happen without some sort of variable change. It’s okay to disagree with how the creators specifically do that, but be aware of why they chose to make those decisions in the first place. The trailers have been alluding to a separation of some kind, with Elsa’s “What would I do without you?” to Anna’s “you’ll always have me” as foreboding clues to the movie’s interpersonal conflict. For reasons we don’t know, this is the route the creative team has taken. It might feel unfair, but we don’t have the whole story. And whatever that story is…. it will all be okay. Jennifer and Chris will make the right decisions for their characters. The sisters will be happy in the end because this is a Disney movie (do you really think they’d be happy separated against either of their wills?) They’ll be a family regardless of the circumstances. It might not be how you or I would have written it, but that doesn’t make it a bad story nor an invalid one. And we can be content with that for another month. (I have a working hypothesis that we’re all going to be happily surprised by the ending’s larger meaning, once it’s revealed.) Wait, isn’t this just a kid’s movie? Shouldn’t we just suck it up and move on? Elsa may be fictional, but that doesn’t mean she’s not real. She means a lot to a LOT of people because of her very real relationships with herself, her capabilities, her power, and her family. It’s not silly to worry about her arc, nor Frozen 2′s arc as a whole. Stay Mindful
If you’ve been scouring Tumblr & Instagram all day today in a panic trying to decide how to feel about the Frozen 2 leaks, please get off the echo chamber that is the internet. Eat a chocolate chip cookie, meditate, sit outside with a cup of tea- enter back into the “real world.” It pains me to say this because I’m talking to myself as much as I’m talking to anyone else, but: Frozen is not the determinant of your existence, nor your happiness. It’s one story among SO many, all of which have the potential to form and influence us in various ways.
In closing:
- keep in mind that most of what’s circulating on Tumblr is part of a rumor mill, and not to trust anything that doesn’t come from Disney themselves
- context is key to everything, and until we see the movie, we don’t have the knowledge to make major decisions about how we feel about Frozen 2
- It’s okay to feel worried or scared that the story won’t be what we were expecting- but that doesn’t make it bad, and it doesn’t mean we’re destined to be disappointed
- be mindful of whether you’re putting the characters/movie/franchise on a pedestal of unsustainable adoration. It can be unhealthy and painful to come down from that high.

aight before this continues im going to need you to back the fuck off on the trauma thing. "every little bit" reads as codescending and minimizing the trauma itself. im someone who has a bunch of trauma because of their own parents playing dumb when things go catastrophically wrong because of their flat out idiotic and selfish actions their own kids even advise against. i know this dynamic way too well. so please, don't fucking do that.
1.) good for you but that's not my choice and i dont have to reserve judgement after everything she's done. im not obligated to forgive someone who was a queen of an empire that actively commit genocide and created a racist and oppressive caste system, and also abandoned her kid. not happening. also having a kid for the sake of saving the world is still fucking selfish, even if morally justified, because it throws burdens on the kid they never asked for at too young of an age. the ends only sorta justify the means when you traumatize the shit out of a child and try to turn them into a hero. it's just a bad decision, and its bad writing. if she needed hybrid powers, why couldnt rose have brought a human adult that was in on it all back to life? there's SO many options that couldve been explored but when rose talks about it it's just "youre going to become something beautiful steven" which is kinda messed up with that context.
2.) that was absolutely not my point whatsoever. i already mentioned greg and the gems, but both of them were left horribly handicapped BECAUSE of Rose. Garnet and Pearl cant speak about the things he needs to know when dealing with his powers (cause if he knew he's a decendent of PD that miiiight make figuring out his powers a bit easier).
And Pearl is just messed up about it all. Yeah they got thru it all, but not without costs. In the most recent episode Steven is entirely desensitized to Pearl's traumatic war memories, because he had been exposed to her suffering so many damn times. Probably not something that should happen to a 13 year old. Pearl is a wonderful character, and not a terrible person, but she definitely was in no place to take care of a kid, and Rose did actively and knowingly contribute to that. You don't just tell someone who's had a life of slavery conditioning "ok go be free bye lol" it doesn't work like that.
And while Greg definitely did the best he could, he's only human and had a huge burden put on him from an unknown world and he had no way to figure any of this out. This was all caused by Rose and was definitely forseeable.
3.) Agreed, but i still do think that the diamonds going after earth was inevitable. I wouldnt be comfortable just up and disappearing knowing they could come back at any time. If I were Rose I wouldve unbubbled Bismuth, apologize, tell her the truth, and ask her to help protect Steven, and make sure everyone else also had the information they needed. Then officially undo all PD orders, before leaving this world. That is the responsible thing to do. And if you truly believe the gem caste system sucks, you shouldn't abuse the powers of a high caste level onto lower caste gems for your own ends and means. Or at the very least take back those orders for the foreseeable future.
4.) good intent does not justify dictatorship, genocide, abuse, manipulation, lying, or racist caste schemes. i already know the message becky sucrose is trying to put out, and it's a bad one. and liberal at best when the show claims to be progressive.
at this poimt im develloping a migraine at this point and i cant really continue i might or might not later im in a lot of pain right now sorry
some reminders about pink diamond
So after the big reveal, there was a lot of uproar, with people getting furious over what Pink Diamond did. Heck, I was one of them.
But after thinking it over, I realized that maybe some of it is being a bit overstated. There’s been a lot of talk about how Rose was evil or how she created a war because she was bored or how she only created Steven to run away from responsibility.
Y’all. The vast majority of evidence does not support this.
So anyway, here are some important reminders:
The Gem War was already going on for 1,000 years before Pink Diamond decided to fake her shattering. She did this because she thought it would end the war, and allow the Crystal Gems to live in peace. Yes, it backfired, and yes, she should have considered that the other Diamonds would seek revenge, but at the end of the day, she legitimately believed that the Diamonds wouldn’t care enough to take action if they thought she was gone.
She still started the war to protect the humans who lived there. Like, seriously, none of that changed. EARTH WOULD BE DESTROYED IF IT WEREN’T FOR HER. I mean, what did she have to gain by picking a fight with herself? All she wanted was a colony of her own. When she got it, she discovered the organic life on Earth and realized she didn’t want to go along with it anymore.
“Curiosity turned to appreciation. Appreciation turned to fondness. And fondness turned to love.”
Yes, Pink did try talking to the other Diamonds before starting a war. Remember what Steven heard in his dream. Pink Diamond did try and talk to the other Diamonds, bringing up the organic life, but they saw it as a sign of her incompetence, not as a reason to let the planet be free. After that, she tried arguing that the cities were too hard to dismantle (which obviously was a lie), but when that didn’t fly, she created the Crystal Gems and used that as an excuse.
After the war, she spent 6,000 years trying to find a way to heal the corrupted Gems. Why do you think the Crystal Gems have been bubbling all the monsters they fight? It’s been said that Rose always hoped to find a way to heal them. It’s not like they died and she just went “Eh, what can ya do?” She felt guilty about what had happened, and she spent ages trying to atone.
Honestly, I still stand by the theory that she created Steven at least in part because she hoped that a human’s capacity to grow might mean that he would eventually become powerful enough to heal them. I mean, he did go further in healing Centipeedle than Rose ever did, and he still has a lot of growth to come. It makes sense that Rose saw that she had reached a plateau and hoped that Steven could do better.
It’s not her fault that there was a power imbalance between her and Pearl. Look, this was fucked up, and it kills me, too. But Pearl’s devotion to Rose wasn’t something Rose could have helped more than she already did. Remember, she gave Pearl the choice to stay loyal to Homeworld. She encouraged Pearl to come into her own. She declared Pearl a free Pearl. But there’s only so much she could do. Yes, Pearl’s devotion to Rose/PD and her feelings of being lost after Rose was gone was tragic, and it breaks my heart. But what more could Rose do?
“Why won’t you just let me do this for you, Rose?”
“Did Rose make you feel like you were nothing?” “Rose made me feel like I was…everything.”
She left Bismuth for Steven to find. It’s clear that the reason she bubbled Bismuth (and kept it a secret) was because Bismuth would have known the truth about the shattering and wouldn’t have stood for it. But when she created Steven, she left Bismuth in the same place as her video for him. She probably figured this was her chance to let Bismuth finally be free.
Look, obviously Pink Diamond made some pretty huge miscalculations that caused a lot of pain and death. That doesn’t make her a bad person. She had to constantly face a number of hard choices where there was no easy answer, and each time, she went with what she thought was best.
Should she have ordered Pearl to keep quiet? No. Yet, at the time it seemed like the best choice.
Should she have told the other Crystal Gems the truth after the Corruption Song? Maybe. Yet, at the time it seemed like a better choice to keep it hidden.
(Should she have challenged the other Diamonds head-on without a disguise? Hell no, summoning their full wrath would have been suicide, and the Earth would get colonized anyway.)
I get it: it’s easy to demonize someone who comes from a position of power when things go wrong on a major scale. But the fact is that it’s not that simple. People have limits, people have flaws, people make mistakes. Pink is a Diamond. Her choices were always going to have far-reaching consequences, and she tried her best given what she had. We’re in a morally grey zone with both positive and negative outcomes.
