i just wanted to provide some thoughts on the harper and rosé one first bc its important to me 😌 cus i was thinking abt harper and how in my head and heart of hearts she would be the kid who thought you get pregnant from kissing and i dont think she ever really grew out of that belief. <- this ended up spawning the idea of harper being a sex-repulsed ace and i will die on this hill actually. fight me or die, you die either way actually nvm

this is just a buncha blorbos i dont know what to tell you really. sketch pages like these always end up so weird for me bc for some reason my brain always wants the characters in them to interact in some way. whether that be talking or just reacting to what the other is doing... its something i cant stop with, its so stupid and silly and i hate it and i love it. where else would i see kabru slowly losing his mind with how loud phoenix wright is in court????

i rlly like ur composition, i wanna know about your process :D

thank uuu !! yeah so like. composing a scene for me generally begins with a vague idea that i want to get down as quickly as possible- and for me that usually starts with finding a setting. I knew that i wanted to draw a) a group of roomates gossiping in a crowded kitchen and i wanted there to be b) one figure in the extreme foreground and c) lots of plants. i do use some tools to figure out perspective, mainly the csp perspective ruler. Usually i start by finding a picture i like similar to the vibe im going for- but instead of referencing anything else- im purely interested in perspective. sorry to anyone who is shocked i dont generate all of my perspective purely by myself- i can draw in perspective fairly well but i struggle to make straight lines and this is easier to make grids with than the line tool lol ^_^ i try to use it kinda more like spellcheck on typos than like something to fully rely on. this is the video i learned this trick from:

i saw the left photo and realllly loved how the cabinets alligned with the wall- so i used my ruler tool to draw out my inital plotted points from the image- basically the linear movements i was most interested in and then i turned off the image layer and worked with those lines and the ruler tool to move on. eventually i had this:

which was enough for me to put my characters in for the inital round. if you notice- i made a looot of further adjustments as i go on. this sketch is not a final layout, its so my characters have somewhere to be! i cannot draw someone standing on a floor if theres no floor, nor leaning on a table that doesnt exist. i can’t draw my characters without a background, but i also cant finish my background without accounting for how my characters can comfortably exist in it!!

this was the like.. very basic start. i knew the positions of two characters- but i needed to change a lot not only to fit them better but to allow for the other two figures i had planned.

okay.. a little better. i widened the kitchen, closed the fridge door.. added a chair and fit in all the figures.. but this is waaay too dramatic. only two figures are actually interacting- and they are at wildly different energy levels!

this is where things started to make a little more sense characterwiss, so i was ready to refine backgrounds and figures and unite the two.

inital base sketch. much better layout.

okay- this is where im getting my footing but things seem.. really really off. You can see me working on my framing here- theres some good linear movement from left to right here- but not vertically. It’s hard to notice the figure in the far back, so i need to redirect the viewers eye to move upwards as well!

this is where i decided to zoom out, add an interesting vertical element to the left of the image and make it clearer whats happening in the foreground. i had to account for some stuff by adjusting the cropping, but i paid attention to that as well.

annnd- thats what a clean sketch looks for me! i have all the elements of my scene accounted for, and things are clean enough to read.

the next step for me would be transfer! essentially- I print the image of my sketch out, resizing and taping pages together so my sketch matches the size of the paper i want to paint on, and then i use a lightboard to transfer my sketch with pencil onto my paper. Then i refine the sketch a few times on paper before stretching my watercolor paper (essentially just prepping for painting) and inking with a brush and colored ink before going in with watercolor, gouache and ink, then usually finishing with marker, colored pencil, pastel and ink. it’s a lengthy process but a lot of fun lol. but sketches for me can be like.. 15 layers of different roughs until im happy with just the sketch. there were more images but im on mobile and theres a 10 image limit 😭😭 im a bit masochistic but i believe that if i dont have a good sketch i dont have a good painting!!

not an odd question!! sorry for the late response, i don't usually keep sketches after lining them. to be honest, i dont often sketch the anatomy very clearly (i am,, also a warrior cat artist and havent actually started drawing humans until like 4 years ago so im rlly happy u like my human art LOL) this is as basic as my sketches get. i hope these help :')

5 (what made you start your blog) - i first joined tumblr in late '21 i think? (i'd just had a rlly bad rehearsal and needed to blow off some steam lol) I didn't post anything or interact with anyone, i just lurked for quite a while. In early '23 i think, i started posting stuff and put up a bunch of my (truly terrible) observations/photos/poetry/whatnot, and then deleted it all in that summer. i tentatively started posting again that fall, and here i am!

11 (what do you consider to be romance) - huh idrk! i don't crush much, so i feel like my own definition might be a little looser than others'.

12 (advice you want to share) - hmm, get outside as much as possible (it's done wonders for me), pick up as many hobbies as possible while you have the time, if you get periods (or just are tired) then heat up milk and add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract (super relaxing and good for cramps WITHOUT the caffeine and super high sugar)

18 (do you believe in ghosts/aliens) - DEFINITELY ghosts, i've had a lot of family members have personal encounters. With aliens, it's more of a scientific probability, it'd be a lot more unlikely for them not to exist

24 (something you're proud of yourself for) - Earlier this year, i started trying to make a point of spending time with this girl who never seemed to have someone to talk to (she's homeschooled and shy, comes from a super conservative fundamentalist family, is tall with a blue mullet, stims a lot, and will happily talk about transformers for hours). Turns out she's super sweet and warm, once she gets comfortable! Now she's rlly happy to have someone to hang out with, we're gonna go get smoothies soon :)

28 (do you collect anything) - not really lol!

31 (are you messy or organized) - i'm organized when i really want to be. The rest of the time, i'm usually kind of a slob :)

33 (hobbies) - quite a few haha! I'm a dancer (ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, and hip-hop), i play the piano, the flute, and the ukulele, i crochet/knit/sew/embroider/sketch/paint, i read a LOT and do a ton of jigsaw puzzles, and i bake and cook! i also like biking, swimming, and jogging, and my brother's trying to get me into weightlifting :)

39 (youtuber you've been obsessed with/why) - i don't really watch youtube, sorry! i like watching cavetown's stuff ig, and i've been enjoying a comedy improv group called shoot from the hip???

SOO, small context i’m workin on like a story, fictional world, personal project thingy and i’ve been slowly working on the different environments and background characters + supporting characters!! I DESIGNED ONE TODAY YAYAY BRO I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I FINISHED AAAHAA

BUT YEA this was just a quick concept doodle to see what i wanted to do with her character design and her vibe!! her name is Gylden Bronzeboots (mostly referred to as Cap’n Bronzeboots) and she’s a very powerful and infamous steampirate!! (steampunk pirate) (im obsessed w fictional pirates and the mixture between steampunk and pirates is genuinely godly to me)

i def wanna work on/add some things like bring out more of the steampunk in her design, i wouldn’t rlly know what to do so far tbh but pinterest and the internet in general are my best friends.

BUT YEA i wanted to show this off bc I WAS ACTUALLY PROUD OF HOW THE ANATOMY TURNED OUT AND STUFF AND THE SWORD TOO MMMM 😭 BUT i also wanted to show u bc u inspire me a lot!!!!! especially with design!! you’re really nice and friendly and casual i was very curious of what you would think, i’m very much going out of my bubble for this one but i believe it’s worth it fr 🙏

but i will say she looks more of classical pirate than steampunk pirate, and that's not bad! It just means you might need to fidget a bit with her design!

OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE IT ITS TOTALLY UP TO YOU but i think since shes a steampunk-pirate that sounds SO FUCKIN COOL i thin she would have a lot more small accessories? im not too sure how to explain it, but also, i think the fact she has a long cape is good!! I changed it to a smaller skirt bc I think if she were to be fixing, the coat would get in the way and cause a disadvantage, and also the long-gloves so that her sleeves don't get in the way whenever she's fighting!

So yea I found an old notebook that I used to write stories on a few years back and BOY after page like 8? it was all story notes. AALLLL story notes and a few chapters for story ideas. After the TWOTHT Purge™️ (lmao) I had forgot all of them but some are nice. I can pick a few points and apply to my current wips. The notebook had also a part FILLED with paper sheets with doodles, drawing pratice and character design (this was what, like 5-3 years ago? I still do that lmao so i was surprised to find them that way. I guess old habits die hard)

It's nice because it just makes me rlly happy of how much I've grown as an artist! My sketches back then were more stiff (im no gesture master but its so much more Fluid now) and awkward and cluttered and messy. I didn't know what I was doing! I still don't, mostly, but I've got better.

The notes and scribbles also had multiple notes and planning for TWOTHT which is so GREAT. Its so good to find notes and sources from the start of whatever I'm trying to reboot. For example I found:

A world map

Notes on the possible scientific names of the species ("homo ignis")

A political map with the territorries of the races drawn out

A design tryout for Zaire (the MC)

A character profile for Zaire

Notes for characters I didn't know existed

And bonuses:

Some kind of existencial crisis I was having back then (i remember that a bit, actually, but its all foggy so these registers are funny to find) with goals to myself

A book wishlist (threw it away since i managed to read them all--its nice knowing i managed doing that *high-fives my past self*)

MANY queer pride flags. More specifically, aegosexual and lesbian pride flags. And a bunch of silly phrases and lyric lines. I guess they were really special for me back then

Anyways, finding all of this brings me a lot of joy, and also a bunch of stuff I can use, creatively speaking! ^^

Yes! Actually Condemned used to be called Cadence which was Hunter’s story! Now its been completely changed to match better vibes :3 its… such a crazy big revamp, and its been daunting but so far i LOVE the direction its taken. If you like Galactic scale action then it is 100% the story for u <3 cause its scale is INSANE.

Vega’s a neat one and i really love her honestly, so she used to be JUST balance. But Rane did a number on her and essentially severed her from her other half and in the process left his mark on her. Now Balance has been out of wack for a while and even when Vega is reformed into who she once was, everything is still out of balance. So, she became the Wraith of Vengeance as well as Balance because she reformed with such explosive rage that it brought about a obsession with vengeance she would soon enact on the wraith of war. (With the help of Hunter and Trace)

And i know thats all very gibberishy atm but i swear im COOKING. Its gonna be so cool when its all out of the oven and cohesive. Condemned is actually being posted a lot on Patreon rn so you have like Hunter’s design posted rn, Rane’s wip sketch is coming out next month, and then Vega’s full body is comin too! So if u wanna see more and fast thats where it is (Not to boost… it but also yes to boost it HRNG EXCITEMENT!!)

i did some more twilight fanart, this time i drew edward aswell!

i drew my fave scene from new moon, which is when bella goes cliff-diving and nearly drowns. i love that scene so much it always makes me tear up because to me it is quite relatable.

abt the art:

bella took SO LONG. 4 hours!! i messed up on her eyes and nose so they dont look quite the same as the actual scene, but i love some of the shading that i did!

for edward he didnt take quite as long, but he still took two hours to draw. i actually drew him upside down because it helps me when drawing hair and faces. i also kept messing up on his nose. ig i just cant draw 3/4 noses 😭

normally i CANNOT draw males but im actually rlly proud of this!! + i drew him at 2am and was half asleep.

before i coloured it digitally it also started off as a super detailed sketch that i drew in the dark yesterday at 3am. i really need to sleep

Sorry not to talk abt this comic Again but I wanted to post just the sketch/lineart (I didnt rlly do lineart for it, which is why you can see some parts look blurry from resizing n stuff) bcs im actually so happy with it. Looks way better than what I usually do, and a lot faster too.

I was inspired by Gege Akutami w/ the double lineart, but also Tatsuki Fujimoto w/ the texture lines n stuff. The thicker outline wasnt rlly based on anyone in particular? js thought it looked cool lol. + it coild hide messy or blurry parts of it.

I actually have used the cleaned up sketch as lineart in the past, but it wasn't made with the Intent to be the final, i was just lazy. So it wasnt as good ig?

I think for the actual pastex comic + future mini comics I'll use this style ^.^ saves time and when coloring+shading adds 2-4 extra hours thats always necessary

Chapter 1

WOW!!!! this took a long-ass time, literally ive been working on it on and off for over a year now, and i have a lot more for it, but i wanted to post this on my biiirthdayyyy!!! Eveyone has to wish me a happy birthday or else im not making the upcoming chapters~

i dont know when im gonna get the rest of it posted, but this comic is the main reason why a couple wittb hiatuses happened lol

I'm gonna work on the next part of this little by little so that my attention is focused on wittb for now. i prob couldve gotten more of this done if i hadn't went on vaca but whhhatevaaa~ (or if i didnt have to work but i dont have control over that) besides, I'm sure if i had used that full time draw it, my hand would be attatched to my wrist with duct tape, a dream and a prayer. Even with what i have now, it look me about 51 hours to complete, crasy.

Most of the time I spent working on this went to figuring out angles of hats, pipes, background, and face angles. Bashing my head against a wall over those.

I'm takin it easy now however! i am bummed that i didn't get to The Goods in this post though.

i stopped playing genshin ages ago, so i have no idea who a lot of these b-words are, but i like the drawings you did of the one with the eyeballs!

i was thinking again about one of the notes you put in the work of the kafstel shorts-about how you wrote about small sizes contrary to what people might expect to see in explicit works like this (with humiliation or whatever) and i really like that you handled it like that because it's sooo wholesome and heartwarming! i am so unhealthily obsessed with kafstel and i might be repeating myself with my other comment, but i really feel like you captured them so well and it feels so real... they were made for each other... they truly are each other's destinies and perfect for one another and it makes me so happy

your creative wonder has haunted my mind and i am so grateful for it- because it makes me feel comforted, cozy, and proud to know that someone like you exists out there. i even ended up pulling out my tablet and doing a little sketch of stelle because of you. fair warning, it is nsfw, but it's nothing detailed or over-thetop because i'm too simple. i just wanted to depict stelle with a lil peen bc i think it's adorable... I don't really advertise my tumblr as I haven't really done much with this blog yet. I only have it listed on my AO3 bio and that's it. I figured I make it a special place for those that care to see my art or potential drabbles I'd write. Also, Yanfei liker, truly goated.

To ramble on with an anecdote, I wrote Small Packages with the idea in mind of that size to show how in a loving sort of relationship, especially one destined to be, size is irrelevant to an extent. Being literally made for each other is such a lovely romantic idea. Perfect for KafStel.

I had the idea for making Stelle have small size because I noticed there wasn't any fics, art, or anything else that depicted small sizes in a positive light. At least not as much as packing major heat does. For anything that is, not just for Stelle. Even fairly middle of the road sizes don't get a lot of things made for them. I get why as it's a fantasy so going big with anything is expected. Like height, breast size, or powers, etc. It's not inherently bad and I see nothing wrong with it, I just noticed how there wasn't a lot or moderate amount of small penis fics/art/ect out there that wasn't humiliation in some way.

Nothing against humiliation play, just not my thing. At least not the more aggressive forms of it.

This goes into my creation process. When I notice there isn't a lot of something that I find interest in, I want to make it. Thusly, not a lot of small penis appreciation, not a lot of Stelle being top, not a lot of wholesome and heartwarming smut, therefore I made Small Packages. Big things come in them after all. This was the case at the time of planning and writing, that is.

Typically that's how it goes. I see a lack of something I want to see then I make it so it exists out there. Pretty much the majority of my fics and art are made because I couldn't find it elsewhere and wanted it to exist. The file name I make my art on is called "Ideas to manifest" for a reason.

Anyway, thank you for the kind words. I'm glad that you drew somethin'. Stelle has such a cute expression. Love it a whole lot. The soft linework is somethin' I struggle with so seeing it is always a treat. It looks like it feel nice to run my fingers on. As in on a sheet of paper.

The manifesting is working.

I haven't a problem being associated with anything NSFW on this blog, given I write it so it's already associated with me. I have made NSFW art as it's part of how I plan my fics but never posted them. They're all super rough and not meant to be looked at that way. Like rough drafts are for the creative, not the audience.
