HEIGHTS. anyone that has been on this blog for long enough realizes how much of a sucker i am for height differences. of course headcanons are a thing, and i am totally ok with it! but i CANNOT, express how much i hate when people make Feferi or Aradia short. Like, have you SEEN their ancestors?! panels aren't the best source for this type of thing, since it's constantly shifting, but still, i will hold onto this opinion until i die. (psst, im a shortkat truther, how did you guess?)

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

fishsticks, i can't really think of anyfin! i'm still at that fandom stage where everyfin just seems great, so...... but if i really had to choose, i think i would say collide. don't get me wrong, the flash was pawsome! but it after that it was just.....disappointing. i was happy to see all of them happy, but it didn't really tie all the loose ends, y'know? maybe one die i will write a whole essay on things that were missing on that, but nows definitely not the time(and its 1 am as of writing this :P)

Hello! I'm kind of warming up to the idea of writing something for the LADS fandom after a few months of contemplating... But I'd like your opinion on something... I've been asking around on how to write the pov.

Should I write in second person or third? I've seen a few works using second person, but I'm still a bit confused as to how to write.

I know everyone is different, but I have really bad performance anxiety and wanted "pro's" opinions🥲

I wouldn’t call myself a pro (tq for the thought though🫶🏼), but I can tell you this much, pros & cons of both second pov & third pov;

Second pov: ‘you, you’re, yourself’ (you’ll be actively referring to your readers without the pronounce as if you’re speaking to them)

Third pov: ‘she, he, they, them’ (you’ll be narrating ab your audience with chosen pronounce (male/fem/gn! Reader) as if you’re telling someone else about the story between Reader and character)

Writing in second person adds more space for your content to be gender neutral, reaching out to more people to read it that don’t prefer feminine or masculine terms/pronounces. You’ll get a wider range of readers, a bigger audience that can be exposed to your stuff.

There isn’t much cons for second person cause it gives you much more exposure to others. But pls make ur own preference a priority!! Try experimenting w second pov and if ur not satisfied w it, then switch to third pov w ur preferred pronounce and tag accordingly!! Make sure it satisfies yourself before thinking of others. Besides, im sure most us writers write for ourselves more than for others, so don’t be afraid w changing things up<33

Writing in third pov, for me, it’s much more satisfying, but im not used to it so that’s why i dont do it😭 but then again if you write in third person, you’ll have a targeted audience, something that’s not completely for everyone. Don’t think of this as a con immediately, the exposure depends on the algorithm and your mutuals as well as your tagging.

While I don’t write in third person, I always tag my fics as “fem!reader” even though I seldom use the she/her pronounce in my fics. Despite that, it greatly reduces my fears of getting complaints that i tagged my stuff wrongly because sometimes i do use those pronounces in my fics unknowingly.

While we’re talking ab writing, please don’t forget to interact with others!! No matter how small or big the other blogs around you are, don’t be afraid to interact and make friends/mutuals. Their reblogs will help w your exposure greatly! Adding a small “reblogs and comments will be greatly appreciated!!” somewhere within your works will also help!

You stood in front of the sink of your bathroom, holding a pregnancy test on your shaky hands, two little red lines staring right back at you.

How did this happen? How would you tell him? He doesn't want kids, he made it clear from the beginning and you accepted it without a fuss, that's why you've been taking your pills diligently every day, you didn't forget one, did you?... No, you know you didn't, how did this happen?

"You okay there, love?" Simon knocks on the bathroom door and you jump in surprise, like a child that's been caught red handed.

"Y-yes Si, j-just give me a minute... I'll be right there." Your period is about three weeks late so you bought a pregnancy test, your best friends advice, it wouldn't hurt, it was just to make sure, you certainly were not expecting this.

You hid the test on the cabinet under the sink and washed your face before coming out.

It's been a week since your ob-gyn confirmed a six weeks pregnancy and you still haven't found the courage nor the right time to break the news to Simon, so when he gets a call from Price to get deployed on a long mission you fear it would be too late by the time he comes back.

One month at most he said when he kissed you goodbye almost two months ago, you are 16 weeks into your pregnancy and your bump is starting to show, which only adds to your anxiety, between the morning sickness and your hormones being all over the place you still haven't figured out how to tell him.

As you ponder how to break the news to him, you realize that a simple phone call wouldn't suffice. With him stationed on the other side of the globe, risking his life every day, you hesitate to burden him further. At the same time, you know it wouldn't be ideal for him to return home and suddenly find you waddling around with a baby bump.

So you stay quiet and whenever he calls and asks why you sound so exhausted you blame it on your job, you say you are just stressed out, and he promises he'll take care of you once he's back, he'll relieve you from the stress the way you like it, the way only he knows how to.

You are laying on the couch wearing Simon's t-shirt, stuffing yourself with your favorite ice cream and watching trash tv when you hear fumbling outside your front door before it swings open, a very rugged Simon stands in the threshold , you curse under your breath, he didn't say he was coming home the last time you talked on the phone three days ago so you stand there and look at him overly conscious of the bump hiding under his t-shir and you thank the heavens he is a big man, you think the loose fit of his T-shirt would buy you time, your ice cream long forgotten in the coffee table.

He walks towards you with long strides as he pulls his balaclava over his head running his fingers through his messy hair and you shy away, you step back and freeze, eyes wide like a deer caught in the headlights, he stops in his tracks and tilts her head, his eyebrows pinch as his eyes linger on your midsection and you know you're fucked, he noticed, how wouldn't he, and you hope and pray he'd say something, anything, but he doesn't, he turns on his heels ready to walk out.

"Simon wait!" You call for him and he stops, his hand lingers on the door knob, "I can explain, please just hear me out" your voice cracks and you wish you had been brave enough to tell him before, you know about his childhood and his trauma, you know his struggles and why he didn't want children in the first place, he trusted you and you broke his trust, you deceived him from the moment you found out you were pregnant and decided to keep it to yourself because you were too scared to trust him back.

"Explain what?" He shouts turning around and walking towards you again, your hands fly to your belly instinctively, protective. You lower your head, eyes glued to the floor, ashamed.

Im just popping in to say that I found this story only yesterday but am already soo deep into it. I really love the different origins and how it influences the story. Also you write it in such a funny way while not taking away from things that are more serious and I find your writing style generally very comfortable to read.

I also really like that there is an age-restriction for two characters. It is very uncommon in IF (which is fine) but I really, really like that we can flirt/romance them and they will let us down gently. I am a fan of age gap relationships but, personally, 18-20 is too young for a real age gap relationship in my opinion and I am just soo happy that here are adults who arent interested in such young people and will reject them. It also makes the story more realistic.

I am bad with words (especially in english) but I hope my meaning comes across.

I was wondering a lot about how to do the age restrictions, but in the end, I was very much in favor of organic storytelling, so that's why I let you flirt with them in the beginning.

Like this, the characters will still acknowledge that you might be interested in them. They will have that conversation with your character in the game, in real time, instead of just suddenly being locked out completely without anyone ever mentioning it again.

That's why I don't give you specific warnings either during the age choice, because I wanted players to be able to figure out for themselves what happens later. For me, it feels a lot more natural this way, and you will still have plenty of time to start pursuing someone else.

Btw, don't worry about your English, it's really good. I'm not a native English speaker either, but you only get better by practicing :)))
