if you are from cork i heard that this year there is going to be a discworld convention i think??

ooh, thanks for the heads-up!! I actually went to that con in 2017 and had an amazing time, but I kind of fell out of touch with the convention scene after my college graduation/covid and had no idea it was on again this year. I might see if there are still memberships available for this one :3

(my highlight of idwcon 2017 was meeting stephen briggs, longtime creator of discworld theatre adaptations and audiobooks, and pterry's visual inspiration for lord vetinari. he autographed my DVD of going postal and gave me this badge completely unprompted 😭✨ he's a total sweetheart)

Reading about my favourite author - who celebrated his knighthood for services to literature by forging his own sword, a fact encapsulating the entire reason I emulate him in all my fiction to this day - was as poignant and as much of a pleasure as reading one of his books. Terry would have been proud of Rob for rounding off his life and career with this excellent volume.
