1, What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

My husband has a character he loves for rdo, Makwa. We started talking about him one day and somehow decided to start roleplaying. So I made Cassidy as a partner for him

2. How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)

He's still techinally a work in progress but he has most his backstory, character traits, and personality. I just dont have his cowboy design. He has his army fit and his face and hair and stuff like that is done. His now cleary recognizable version was first made on 8/27/24 and his doodle sheet was finished on 9/23/24. So bout a month later. Im also still working on getting his shire/cob mix drawn with his new pattern marking. I used a f2u base but the stature isnt the same so i need to now translate it onto his actual body.

3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

So it went kinda backwards from how theyre listed. His role came first since Lamb and I decided to make him Makwa's boyfriend. Then came his personality which plays off Makwa a good bit. Then his design and finally his name.

4. And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?

His design. His clothes have been very difficult. His army fit not so much since I can just look at historical uniforms but his cowboy fits been a whole lot harder. I still dont have his cowboy fit cause i cant figure out what kind of silhouette I want for him and the extra details. I want him to look unique and not boring. A lot of cowboy designs just feel really lacking on details. So idk

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

So his name means White Fire Fire. I thought that was hella funny so I chose to use both of those. Hes also a pyromaniac so yknow. I also wanted to make sure he had an Irish last name since his mothers 1st gen Irish immigrant (so shes irish herself) and his dads 2nd gen (so his parents were irish). I just looked around in name lists. I think I specifically looked for male names popular in the year he was born. So like 1850 sumn I think. I have it in my notes somewhere lol

6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

Honestly it just kinda immediately was in my head. I was thinking of that one guy in Captain America: The First Avenger. The ginger guy in Steve and Buckys team with the stache. He was my first thought but I wanted Cassidy to look more unhinged which made me then think of Charles Manson and his eyes. Also with some color palette changes. Speaking of which his colors are mostly in the red to yellow range with blue because of fire :)

7. What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

His stache. I dont draw a lot of facial hair and it just is him. It makes him so noticable. Its either that or his eyes. I like the shape and his crazed expression or yknow the opposite when he gets angry and the tops of his eyelids actually touch his iris.

8. What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

He does have some projection but lets be honest again all my characters will have projection. Whether I know or not i just dont know how to make characters without some degree of it. I only know myself completely like that so ofc in creating a whole new person im gonna use myself as reference. Any mini ramble over, he got my pyromania cranked up to 11. Like hes actually an arsonist, I am not. I just like watching fire and watching stuff burn. Idk where the rest of his personality really came from though. Just me brainstorming and givin him stuff.

9. How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?

Seeing as its roleplay centered on him and makwas story id say pretty massive lol. I love him but I think lamb and I both kind of see it as Makwa being the main character while Cassidy is his supporting character

10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

Honestly? Hes not a good guy. He never gets redemption. He is intrinsically bad. He kills for the fun of it. He quite literally will kill you (general) if youre too boring and dont bring him entertainment or if your death would bring him entertainment. His main motivators are protecting Makwa and having fun. The most "development" he has is basically developing a set of morals which is just not doing stuff Makwa doesnt like. As for an ending he doesnt really have one yet. We dont know where thats going but we have a few general plot points that are in a timeline.

11. Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?

Without his stache, he honestly looks like Julian Devorak to me. Idk if theres any others tho personality or looks wise.

12. Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?

I do!! Lambs helping me build it but mostly its built off vibes. Anything slightly unsettling or creepy while upbeat. Theres also a ship playlist but its only got like 4 songs rn and that ones Lambs

13. Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?

I dont yet. At first I was thinking like southern American accent with notes of Irish but I couldnt find any references to that. So now Im just thinking southern cowboy with some words said with the pronouncation of brit english. Seeing as his father has the southern accent since hes usa raised and his mother died when he was a young kid, he doesnt have a lot of the Irish accent influence anyway.

14. Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?

I have some from roleplay but not really. Heres a few from rp i like ig: "Got teeth like the god damn hounds. If your name aint Dog already, it should be." (after Makwa bit him on the hand during their first meeting) Makwa: "...you have to bite the hand that feeds you." Cassidy: "I didn't feed you shit, mutt." "No plan makes a dead man."

15. Have you ever made a moodboard for them?

Hub and I have a Pinterest board for the both of them. It's called Blazen Arrow which is their ship name.

16. Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?

in universe, he gets the outlaw name "Fire Boy McCoy" and he absolutely hates it. I cant think any others right now.

17. Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?

Fire. Lots of fire.

He does have a family which consisted of him late father, late mother, and older sister (and the inlaws and nieces and nephews). Then yknow Makwa. And his horse and cat. Theres a few others but those are the important ones.

Idk. I just love all of him. Him being completely unhinged probably if i had to pick.

What do you think their nationality would be?

I'm pretty sure most of them are German (eren,reiner,grisha,Zeke,berthold,..)except a few like armin,niccolo,Jean,porco,Erwin,..

So since there isn't an official statements about their nationality yet, here's what i think they are based on their looks, names but mostly based on my own personal opinion that i pulled out of my pockets with no resources besides Wikipedia, my own experience, my friend's experience.

Scouts

Eren - Mixed, why? He gives the vibes, plus his name Yeager is from a Germin origin. His facial features/skin and name being Eren are Turkish, his mother has an English name: Carla while his dad has a Russian name: Grisha

He definitely curses people in different languages but can't actually speak them.

Armin - (English?)German, why? I FUCKING HATE IT THAT'S HE'S ENGLISH, no hate to any English people but I dated an English guy, worse relationship of my life.

His name, Armin, is from a German origin. Now i couldn't find an origin for his last name, so he's just German but the fandom sees him as English for some reason?? I think it's the hair tbh. I think he can speak multiple languages.

Mikasa - Japanese, why? Her name is based off Mikasa the battleship. I don't think she can actually speak the language more than basic Volcablary because she grew up in Eren’s home.

Jean - French, why? Because i said so. Really just think about it for a second, doesn't it just fit right? I took french classes back in high-school and I'm 80% sure I saw someone like Jean in one of my textbooks.

Plus Jean is a french name. I think he can perfectly speak the language.

Marco - Italian, why? I played assassin's creed brotherhood and fell in love, also his name: Marco is from an italian origin, i know that Cazzo = fuck so yeah :) it think he can also perfectly speak the language, plus french and italian are really similar so more friendship points for Jean.

Connie - American, why? Again assassin's creed revolution, conner was the name of the protagonist so...close enough. It doesn't state his names origin but it most people named Connie were American. Unrelated but he has the prettiest eyes in the whole show in my opinion.

Sasha - russian, why? Because the name Sasha is Salvic origin which according to my Russian ex is a really common nationality and name in russia. Idk why poeple see her as Irish...is it the hair too? I think she can fully speak the language and has a clear accent she tries to hide.

Fyi Sasha is actually a short name for Alexandera so- yeah

Veterans

Levi - French/Irish, why? I just adore the idea of french levi, his name: Levi is a mostly American name. Maybe his mother was French tho i couldn't find anything on her name. Kenny is an Irish name that's originated fro ken/kenneth a Scottish name...does that make Levi Irish?

The famous cowboy everyone, Kenneth Ackerman.

I don't think he can speak the language fluently but he definitely knows some stuff from his mother and curse words from Kenny.

Erwin - English/German, it's the eyebrows man, i had a hetalia phase okay? His first name: Erwin is German.

Plus smith is a really generic last name. I think he can speak not only these languages but multiple other languages he learned.

Hange - Greek, why? The last name is from a Greek origin, plus it does sound pretty cool. I think Hange can speak latin too, unrelated but they definitely bother to learn a dead language.

Miche/Mike - Middle Eastern/English why? His last name is an arabic word, i can pronounce it, he has the facial features too. His first name was a popular name in England before plus it's a good canon way for him to be childhood friends with Erwin.

Zeke - russian/German, why? Grisha is a russian name, so is Dina according to my Russian ex again but Zeke by itself isn't a Russian name or a known one at least and Yeager is a german name.

I think he can speak both languages fluently and maybe a third one too.

I’ve been considering watching hermitcraft after seeing your posts about it actually!! Who would you suggest I watch?

first off-- feel free to come off anon and chat too!! ;3;

so, like, okay, there’s a ton of people on the server, and each person has a really distinctive video style, so i’d say go to hermitcraft.com and see what strikes your fancy, maybe just watch around a little bit, see what you vibe with & stuff. but ill give a rundown of my personal favorite hermits and why i rec them here:

1. renthedog - ren is a treasure, his videos are very well edited and they always have a very clear and followable narrative (video or like, legit narrative, this season he did an entire set of episodes where he roleplayed as a cowboy), and he’s all around just really good. he doesn’t necessarily do redstone or building the best way i can describe him is that he’s here for a good time and loves a good goof

2. etho - youve probably heard of etho, super popular mcyter whos been around for a while. all his content is very.. idk its very calming, but his hc content specifically is just him genuinely having fun on the server with no real, like, Theme i guess? he’s mad good at redstone tho! i rec him just as another general choice

3. vintagebeef - another old hermit, NHO rise up.. super good builder, does a lot of that all-around content, just a fun dude to watch. this season he spent an entire episode building a ghast farm just to build ONE small facet of his base.. also he spent an entire episode building a llama sanctuary by his base. jsp he’s just a general joy i love him

4. tangotek - tango said ‘i’m gonna build an iron farm where ravagers kill the golems, also i’m gonna build a creeper farm that shoots them out of a cannon, just for fun’ and he did. tangos video style is kinda all over the place but very good nonetheless. super entertaining guy

5. impulsesv - impulse is one of tangos friends, his  base this season looks crazy good, and also he’s got this kinda dad personality that i enjoy a lot... this season he’s been doing a lot of farms so if you like technical content i do believe hes a good choice

6. iskall85 - hes the only good swedish youtuber and i love him to bits. hes kinda a builder, kinda a redstoner, kinda general? also he’s very goofy but a joy to watch

7. mumbojumbo - youve likely heard of mumbo or seen him on the trending page or something, he’s mad popular and very good at redstone.. his videos tend to have that same followable narrative feel as ren’s, and i know some people dont like his editing style (i didnt like it at first) but i’d say just see how you like his content..

8. zedaph - last on this list but not least is zed. zed’s content is all about visual humor and just doing goofy stuff. a few eps ago he made a zombie farm that functions like a plinko machine if that gives you an idea of what he does. just a really entertaining guy, i always find myself watching all the way through his episodes

10. just kidding i forgot another one: joehills. joe has no discernible content style, but he is building his base based on a vineyard from a dnd book which is neat as hell.. he also sometimes reads poems at the ends of his videos if the videos don’t have midroll ads. again just that one u gotta watch to test the waters with

11. one more. xisumavoid is another one i keep telling myself i have to catch up with but i never do for some reason? his content at least as far as i’ve seen (most of the back half of his s6) is super chill & lowkey.. very good to just have on as bg noise i think! he’s kinda technical and kinda a builder afaik... his streams are a little insane but i HAVE spent mobile data at school to watch them during classes so take that as you will

Scenario meme: FinnPoe

Put a ship in my ask and I will tell you a bit about how each of the following scenarios would go down:

Fake dating: my first impulse on this is to go with an undercover-for-the-resistance thing BUT that’s too played out and obvious so instead I’m picturing a scenario where there’s a lot of downtime on the base for whatever reason and Finn’s like getting all this romantic attention from people bc he’s the young hot resistance hero/has that tragic backstory everyone wants to comfort him over but he’s nervous and uncomfortable being the center of attention like that so Poe’s like ‘hey do you just want me to tell everyone we’re dating so they’ll leave you alone?’ and Finn is partly like ‘that is an absurd solution’ but also he doesn’t have any better ideas so he just goes with it and bc it’s Poe the whole thing’s very chill like they just hold hands a lot and eat together and then the quarter master’s like oh thank god you guys can bunk together bc they need the rooms and that’s the first time where Poe’s like :/ bc he’s sort of into Finn for reals but doesn’t want to make it a thing and Finn’s like oh no Poe doesn’t want to live in the same space, he must not have feelings for me, and anyway it’s awks but it works out in the end.

Bodyswap: I think the most interesting thing to explore here would be the muscle memory – or lack thereof – that they’d have to deal with. Like Finn’s stormtrooper training was so intensive he’s a much better on-the-ground/hand-to-hand fighter than Poe so if he’s in situation where he has to fight people he’d be at a bit of a disadvantage because his reaction time would be off, and all of Poe’s instincts are for piloting so he’d likewise be kind of off, spatially even, because his instincts to like, automatically flip a switch or put just so much spin on turning or whatever would have to be due to conscious thought and effort and not just his gut. So not a very romantic thing but it’d be an interesting look at what their respective history is and it would help them understand each other better. Oh also BB8 would know instantly and freak out.

Sexpollen/fuck or die/aliens made them do it: oooooh I hate these sort of things and they both have kind of sensitive histories regarding control – Finn because of how rigorous the control of the FO was over all aspects of his life, Poe because of his experience being tortured by Kylo – but I think Poe’s instincts would be to fight and struggle and there’s got to be another way out of this whereas Finn’s would be more on the side of this sucks but we’re going to have to do it, here’s how we’re going to survive and have to talk Poe into it because he knows they’ll die otherwise and he can’t let Poe die. So they do it and it’s bad and Finn feels bad about having talked Poe into it and Poe is objectively like glad Finn took control of the situation and was smart enough to get them through it but subjectively he also hates it. THIS IS WHY I HATE DUBCON SEX THINGS. 

Dark!fic: I don’t like making things dark per se but I do (obviously) like making things sad so here’s my two saddest FinnPoe takes: a) Poe is 1000% completely gone on Finn and will probably never love anyone else as much again (rescuing him from torture and certain death and reaffirming his faith in humanity will do that to a person) but Finn is in love with Rey and Rey loves him back, so Poe’s not even going to bother telling him and complicating the situation; and/or b) Finn does feel the same way and Poe is again, 1000% gone for Finn, but Poe’s also just too focused on The Resistance to be able to develop a relationship – and also feels like Finn’s maybe too young to be in anything that serious yet and deserves a chance to have like more low key relationships without it being Super Serious and Forever like Poe would most want it to be – so the timing never quite works out.

Secret kinks: idk if it’s a kink but Poe’s a service top and Finn absolutely does not mind ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Their first kiss: oh it 100% has to be Finn that starts something, right? Like Poe has Feelings and he’s not an idiot, he realizes it and accepts it, but he’s always going to be wary about pressuring Finn or making things weird. Finn is also not an idiot so he kind of gets the feeling Poe is into him but he’s also not super experienced with the whole kissing thing either so it probably takes him a while to work up to it. I don’t see it as like a Big Dramatic Deal kiss though – just something simple, like they’re just hanging out, working on an engine or whatever, they’re just sitting next to each other and talking and Finn just leans over and brings their lips together and Poe is just like, oh. Oh. Oh?! And Finn says something soft and cheesy like I just wanted to see what it’d be like and w/e we/ it’s nice. 

Meeting the parents: Oh my god Kes and Finn meeting is my #1 dream scenario all I want in life is for Kes and Finn to just really vibe with each other, partly to tease Poe for being so intense and Serious Business about the resistance/love/ or w/e but also bc they’re both just like solid, steady, boots on the ground folks while Shara and Poe are the daring pilot types. In terms of Finn’s parents man I don’t think we’ll really get closure on it but at the very least I would like Poe to try and help Finn find them.

Moving in together: After all the Resistance Nonsense, when peace is achieved and the galaxy is saved, I hope Poe follows HIS OWN PARENTS’ EXAMPLE (and not like, Leia’s) and just settles down on Yavin IV to run his droid sanctuary while Finn takes some time to explore the universe and figure out who is outside of war time. But once he has, I think they could be happy together on Yavin – near Poe’s dad, keeping up to date on New Republic stuff but not necessary in the thick of it all. Just a quiet, settled, simple life. I feel like they’ve both earned that.

A crossover of my choice: I’m really picky about crossovers bc I need to be like, canonically plausible (yes I am exactly that pretentious) so the only one I would really buy is Doctor Who, since the a long, long time ago precludes a lot of other options. But I’m not even sure which Doctor. Oh wait it wouldn’t really be a crossover but a version of a Wakanda-like planet that Finn is the secret lost prince of? 15/10 would daydream about again.

An au of my choice: COWBOYS. Vaguely The Magnificent Seven inspired but maybe with less death all around. I just want Poe swinging Finn up on a horse behind him and galloping away while Finn looks back and shoots at whatever bad guys are pursuing them. 

If you like, another trope/scenario of your choices: Again I’m always down for a Long Lost Prince Finn type of scenario, but another AU I started once was a historic regency-ish deal vaguely based on the film Belle where Finn was raised by a rich white aunt and uncle in England, along with his white cousin, Rey, and he’s really well loved by his family and the heir to a fortune but he’s not super accepted into the rest of Upper Society, so he feels like an outsider and there’s a lot of intrigue and conflict about whether he’ll be able to marry or not etc etc, very dramatic. Poe is an artist hired to paint a portrait of ~the family~ on the grounds but he comes to the fancy manor house when Rey is In Town being presented to society and Finn’s aunt and uncle (lbr I’m picturing Han and Leia here) are with her, so no one’s around to supervise this painter guy and it’s up to Finn to take Poe around and show him the grounds and they spend a few weeks together with no one but the servants around and anyway yeah they fall in love, obvs. OBVS. I may still finish this but it would require research which :/
