💊 headcanons: Pharma's medical beginnings // cw; dr.ug mentions , death mentions, ove.rdose mentions
Pharma was forged a medic. When I say this, I mean that he was forged already with the tools necessary to be a medic rank. There was only one problem. He was also forged as a Military Jet. He found it hard to mingle with other medics, often wishing he had simply been an ambulance like most of them.
If he was meant to be a medic, so be it. But no one was banking on him making it very far. Instead of setting him up for success by placing him in a medical school, he was sent to a small rinkydink clinic in Kaon, initally as a records keeper.
The small clinic was constantly busy, always filled with patients for intensive care, as well as many overd.ose patients. Pharma was thrown into the middle of it, given that the clinic was often short staffed. He learned on the go. He absolutely had a knack for it, a very fast learner. One of Pharma's struggles was seeing how many patients were turned away out of lack of space for them in the small clinic. Pharma began sneaking these patients in hallways or even his office or habsuite, desperate to help as many as he could. That's what they're supposed to do, isnt it?
This behavior got in trouble in more than one occasion, but every time he was defended by the CMO of the clinic; an ambulance named Crutch. Crutch was an older, seasoned medic, and somewhat took Pharma under his wing, seeing his potential. Pharma during that time also tried to help out around the community. He offered services to add/icts of the area. Not just in an abstinence form. He knew there would always be add/icts, and figured the best option was to keep them safe, and be open to them if they want to recover. He would give out clean needles, as well as well as— ehhh... essentially a cybertronian equivalent of na.rcan.
The area he worked was unfortunately heavily plagued with drug use. Even the associates at the clinic often used it as a way to get through the hardships of so many losses per day. Pharma first got addicted at this facility, though throughout his life he would try (and ultimately fail) to quit.
Crutch, who was really Pharma's anchor during this time, repeatedly tried to keep Pharma off of those things, and helped him prepare and save to go to a good medical academy. However, shortly before Pharma finally left to be enrolled, he found Crutch dead at his desk. Despite Crutch always reminding him how dangerous the dr/ugs can be, it seemed even he wasnt immune— just very good at hiding his addiction.
Pharma grew angry towards him for a very long time, using substances to cope out of spite in a sense. But eventually he grew to forgive Crutch, knowing he only wanted the best for him. Crutch taught him many things, many important things as a medic. But he also inadvertently taught Pharma how to hide his bad habits away from public view, thus creating very quickly an image for himself as a Fantastic surgeon and someone above temptations, often boasting about how he doesn't drink.
But behind closed doors, he didnt need any high grade to get his fix.
In med school, he met Ratchet, who would he would become incredibly close to, considering him a best friend. Really the first companion he had had the chance to make.

Mastering Science & Technology for UPSC: Important Topics and Sources
Preparing for the Science & Technology section in the UPSC exams can seem daunting, but with the right focus on essential topics and reliable sources, it becomes much more manageable. Science and Technology (S&T) questions in the UPSC exam test your understanding of current technological developments, their applications, and impacts on society. In this blog, we'll cover the key topics you need to master and the best sources to use in your preparation.
Why Science & Technology is Important for UPSC
The Science & Technology section is crucial as it frequently overlaps with current affairs and other general studies topics. This portion tests your ability to understand how advancements in S&T affect areas like agriculture, health, economy, and international relations. It also examines your grasp of both fundamental and contemporary issues, making it a high-scoring part of the exam when approached correctly.
Key Topics to Focus on for Science & Technology in UPSC
Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering

What is Digital Inclusion? Breaking Down Barriers in the Digital Age
In today’s digital era, access to technology plays a pivotal role in shaping opportunities and progress for individuals and communities. Digital inclusion refers to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status, geographical location, age, or ability, has equal access to and the skills required to use information and communication technologies (ICT). It goes beyond simply providing access to the internet—digital inclusion is about empowering people with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in the digital world.
Why Digital Inclusion Matters?
As more aspects of life, from education to healthcare, become digitized, the gap between those who can navigate this digital landscape and those who cannot is widening. This digital divide leaves behind those who lack access to technology or the digital literacy to make use of it. Without digital inclusion, these individuals are often excluded from job opportunities, online education, essential services, and even social interaction. This exclusion exacerbates existing inequalities and creates barriers to development.
Key Components of Digital Inclusion
Access to Technology: Affordable and reliable internet access, along with necessary devices like smartphones, laptops, or tablets, is the first step toward digital inclusion.
Digital Literacy: Knowing how to use these technologies effectively is equally important. People must be equipped with digital skills, such as using the internet, operating software, and navigating digital tools.
Online Participation: Inclusivity means ensuring that individuals from all walks of life can engage in online services and platforms, such as e-government services, e-commerce, and social networks.
Capgemini’s Commitment to Digital Inclusion
An example of a company actively involved in promoting digital inclusion is Capgemini. Through their CSR initiatives, Capgemini has developed programs to bridge the digital divide. Their initiative, Digital Academy, provides digital skills training to underprivileged communities, equipping individuals with the knowledge needed to participate in the digital economy. By focusing on both access and education, Capgemini is helping to create a more inclusive digital future.
Conclusion
Digital inclusion is vital for ensuring that everyone can benefit from the opportunities the digital age offers. By addressing issues of access, digital literacy, and online participation, companies like Capgemini are making strides toward a more equitable and connected world, where technology is an enabler for all, not just a privileged few.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Isn’t for Everyone, But It Could Be for You!
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has a rich history dating back to 1876 with its formation as Dhaka Survey School, which in 1947 became an engineering college and in 1962, got a public university status. BUET is well known for its programs and high standards. Students with a technical bent of mind will prefer BUET for various reasons. Here we will discuss them and give an overview of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Admission process.
Why Is BUET The Go-To University for Future Engineering Leaders?
1) Ranking
QS World University Rankings ranked BUET 801–850 globally, 187th in Asia, and 2nd in Bangladesh.
By subject for engineering and technology, the QS World University Rankings placed it 305th in the world – a 30-point increase from the previous year.
2) Infrastructure
BUET exists on a compact 83.9-acre land in the heart of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The central library has over 132,000 books and 218 latest periodical subscriptions. The campus has 8 residence halls and quarters for faculty and staff with rooftop solar panels generating 3 megawatts of power.
The school has collaborated with Huawei to establish the first ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Academy in Bangladesh on campus.
IICT (Institute of Information and Communication Technology) has internet facilities, several laboratories including a communication laboratory, embedded system laboratory, and network laboratory, 3 latest computerized classrooms, and 2 large lecture halls with multimedia facilities. Other amenities include a wheelchair and parking space.
3) International Collaborations
Apart from being an active member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, BUET collaborates with well-known universities and industries in Bangladesh and abroad.
4) Alumni Network
BUET graduates make significant contributions in various sectors both in Bangladesh and internationally. The alumni network helps current students with mentorship, valuable connections, and industry insights.
5) Research Opportunities
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is known for its research centers, international collaborations, and contributions to knowledge and technology. It offers research expertise, researchers, and laboratory facilities to other organizations in Bangladesh. It also undertakes research programs sponsored by the United Nations, the European Union, and the World Bank. Apart from this, the BUET's research includes:
a)Urban and regional planning – for research on planning and development, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction.
b)Supply chain management – research on managing supplies, understanding customers and their requirements, inventory optimization, and reducing logistics costs.
c)Water conservation – focuses on using water-efficient appliances in Dhaka.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Admission Admission – an Overview
Aspiring students need an excellent record in their higher secondary education with an A+, particularly in relevant subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The admission process starts immediately after the HSC result. The shortlisted candidates need to sit for an admission test.
The admission test covers the syllabus of HSC and no other topic and therefore going thoroughly through the HSC books helps the students to crack the exam. The admission selection for foreign students is different and best enquired with the university's administration department. The university website publishes the ranking of the students based on the admission test and on their merit position students are given the option to choose a department.
For postgraduate programs like M.Sc and M.Engg, one needs 2 first classes in public examinations with at least 50% marks, or a GPA of a minimum of 2.50 out of 4.0, or its equivalent in a four-year degree program in the relevant branch.
After successfully cracking the admission test all successful students pay the prescribed fees for enrolment and other dues prescribed by BUET before the commencement of each semester, and the process needs to be completed within two weeks before the semester starts.
For details regarding admission tests and fee structure, the BUET administration department needs to be consulted.
Conclusion
Hope, this write-up, aimed at providing an overview of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) sufficiently deals with the university information in general. For any suggestion or advice Collegevorti, Bangladesh’s ONLY students’ listing portal can be approached. Its blog section has information-packed blogs written for the benefit of the students.
