Originally, I had planned that I'll come back after I'm done with university, which was later indefinitely postponed to until Gojo returns but idk ... Should I come back? Does the current situation happening in manga counts?

Having travelled to the various cities of Eorzea - and perhaps even further afield at some point - where there any aspects of their urban design and culture he felt motivated to incorporate into The Firmament?
For example did he feel inspired by Gridania to add trees and greenery for the people to enjoy? Or did the cool marble fountains of Ul'dah inspire him to add water features?
Were there any things that he saw that he definitely did not want to bring into his plans for The Firmament? Such as scantily-clad dancers or street hawkers?
I want to take the time to thank you for thinking of me and sending me asks. I'm so sorry I sat on this one for so long. Sometimes I do not have the braincell. Well! Let's get to it!
I think Francel’s first and foremost motivation was recreating something lost to fill the void left in the wake of the war and its inevitable destruction it wrought. But he knew it could not all remain the same, as the world around them has been irrevocably changed as well. This is why he set out first tongather those opinions from the citizenry from most walks within Ishgard proper. Francel wanted to entrust the ideas as much as possible to the people of Ishgard who would be living there. And so, he asks them first, but I think he also really wanted to expose them to the outside as well, to something different.
Okay. What I think is absolutely cute is how into Emmanellain's idea he is. There are plenty of fun celebrations for all ages with the fetes, and I think he would also like to bring in other events from abroad as well; Heavens'turn and Little Ladies day...
When he went to the other City States to secure their cooperation and mutual benefits, he went with an open heart and mind. I don't think there was anything he was displeased to see, understanding there are differences between their peoples such that even the dancers of Ul'dah did not perturb him (though he may have been a touch embarrassed...). Neither do I think he would deter them from branching out into Ishgard, only wish thay they should dress appropriately for the weather.
I believe it would also be true that Francel wants to bring those lively Limsan and Ul'dah'n markets to the Firmament, without actively seeking to compete with the Jeweled Crozier, which was pivitol in the import of machinery for the reconstruction effort.... Anyways!
I've got it in my head that Francel was responsible for a lot of the planning and blueprints that went into the buildings, and was overflowing with ideas. Perhaps, I suspect, having read so many international books as a child... though, I think that the geo thermal waters are naturally occurring to Ishgard, so perhaps the hotsprings was a natural conclusion to him. There is, after all, a little area in... the Western Highlands (?) that had a little pond of hot water, so maybe he wanted to bring that idea over much in the same way Kugane has with theirs. I'd like to rp a trip there one day me thinks.
AM I RAMBLING? yes... could I go on? Maybe.
Going to cut off here. I just think Francel wanted to bring back 'home', but for everyone, including new citizens from without, dravanians and adventurers, and will do all to make them at home.
