my memorys super stinky and i forget who i do/dont send asks too so ignore if i did hehe; im sending asks to people with 'ask me anything' in their bio thingy; feel free to answer or not, or however youd like!
what is your favorite holiday or occasion/theme?
what fragrance/scents put you in a good mood?
what kind of weather do you love?
if you could have a dream about anything, what would you dream about?
what kind of treats do you love/make you feel happy?
what's your favorite hands-on activity (or what would you like to try)?
what kind of music are you craving/listening to right now?
what's something that makes you smile/laugh when you think about it?
I love asks! ty! ♡
Favorite holiday/occasion/theme:
Mabon and weddings.
What fragrance/scent puts you in a good mood?
Petrichor and cinnamon/pie spices.
What kind of weather do you love?
That summer thing where it rains gently but the sun is still shining and the color green gets super saturated.
The kind of still, perfect temperature where you almost can't even feel the air, and it's dark but the sky is clear and you can see the stars.
When it's going to rain, hard, but not yet, and there's the sneaking undercurrent of a breeze, too low to be wind, and it's the kind of uncanny dim where you have no frame of reference for the time of day, and everything in the world seems to be holding its breath.
I like liminal weather.
If you could dream about anything?
I have no idea how to answer this one, haha. I'm always dreaming.
Treats that make you happy?
Cheesecake is the first thing that comes to mind. I eat it very rarely, but it's delicious. The consistency is very rich and satisfying.
My mom used to do homemade cheesecake sometimes, and I have a serious nostalgia for grasshopper (mint/chocolate) in particular.
My husband and I pilgrimmage to the Cheesecake Factory around Valentine's Day most years. (I think my favorite there is the mango lime flavor.)
Oh gods. Tiramisu. I go crazy for tiramisu.
What's your favorite hands-on activity (or what would you like to try)?
A fascinating new one: I just learned how to tack up and ride a horse for the first time! I did it for research/writing, but now I really want to ride a horse again. It was very cool. I got the info I needed for my fic, but I don't think I've yet figured out the vocabulary to really fully describe the experience. Very stimmy, though; soothing and exciting. That good riding posture, man. I get it now. I get why people love horses.
Current music:
Pretty much just constantly on my D&D and fanfic playlists. Here's kind of a random selection...
"Start a War" by Klergy/Valerie Broussard is stuck in my head rn.
"Two Gypsies" by Solace is what I listen to about Ezra's mom.
"The Pines" by Roses & Revolutions is for my Immortality fic.
"Lover. Fighter." by SVRCINA has been a good all-purpose one.
"The Empire of Winds" by Alpine Universe is just a serious vibe.
"Dracula" by Bea Miller is one of my latest bops.
"No F.E.A.R." by Madalen Duke, also fun.
Something that makes you smile/laugh when you think about it?
Embarrassing old men.
(I was going to add something to that, but I literally just wrote it and busted up, so. I guess that's it. 🤣)

(areyousavvy) two things, your bio says you had original works too, I'd be interested in them if you have them anywhere i can get my hands on them. The second things is do you have, like, a reference document for the Duro biology you made? If youre cool with sharing of course
@kodacola Oh my goodness, thank you so so much for your excitement about my work! I can't say how much that means to me! <3 <3 <3
I actually have two novels and one short story published right now—and though I've been refining the ol' writing craft mostly through fanfic as of recent, I have lots more original work planned too.
My first two books (Raven Song and Eclipse of the Sun) are part of an ongoing fantasy/sci-fi series I'm writing about a secret group of magic-users in NYC—but two hundred years in the future after a nuclear apocalypse. It's dark, but with a very hopeful bent, with old gods, wild characters, and plenty more. Some of the more mystical aspects of my Star Wars stories I really honed there, and to this day I feel like the second book is one of the best things I've ever made. If this sounds up your alley, they're here on Amazon!
My most recently published original work is the short story "Harmony" in the anthology Add Magic to Taste, twenty works that highlight cozy, comforting, coffee-house-style queer romance (with a little magic added to the mix.) My tale is about a gay trans man who, after making enemies in his city's Mage's Guild, has been living a quiet, mundane life as a barista... until, at least, one of the city's biggest magical troublemakers rolls up to his drive through window (also, oh no, he's hot.) If you like that, you can find that for sale as an ebook directly from the press here!
Funnily enough, one root to that story was a joke my Gunslinger's Paean beta made to me, that maybe I should write a Cad/Obi-Wan coffee house AU. There's little vestige of that left, but still, the main character names are Caleb/Toby. 😆
As for your second question—OH HECK YES, I am super cool with sharing my worldbuilding and species lore document! I had so much fun making it, and after getting to ramble on about it a little earlier, I resolved to clean up my WIP Duros guide and put it on Ao3 for anyone curious, as there was plenty of ideas that didn't quite make it into the story yet! It's not up at the moment, but it IS on my to-do list, and I'll try to remember to tag you when it's landed. In the meantime, you are more than welcome to shoot me any questions. Goodness knows, I like an excuse to ramble about worldbuilding!
So yes, thanks for submitting this and making my evening!

I started doing 30 days a little bit ago but I missed some days and then didn't finish because some stuff happened and also, I'm not a 24/7 regressor and I even go chunks of time without regressing and I only use my blog when I am regressed. Soooo I'm just going to answer a bunch of these in a kinda long post!
Tumblr media
1. Yes, I sleep with many stuffies actually! I have so many and I put them around me often. I recently got a Mickey and I love his texture!
Tumblr media
2. I don't have a cg. I have a lot of chronic health problems so I live at home with my bio mom (who knows I openly enjoy childlike things, but not specifically that I regress). Because I rarely go out, and rarely interact with others even online, I haven't ever had a caregiver. A few years ago a considered asking my (now ex)bf how he felt about it but when I sort of tested the waters about his thoughts on regressors it... didn't go well so I never brought it up again. Also my bio mom does help me with some things, but she does that because of my health issues and not because I'm smol.
3. Aquarium! I like the museum and the zoo a lot too, and also just going to the mall, or target! But the aquarium is my favorite and I miss it!!
4. I don't use a paci, for a few reasons but mostly I don't tend to regress that young. I do have chewelry though! I use that when I'm big also.
5. Blue! I also like red! And green! And sometimes purple!
6. Stuffies! I love blankies too and have a handful of baby blankets, mostly because I am Very sensitive to textures and hate certain ones, but I like a lot of baby ones. I have so many stuffies though. I've loved them all my life and I still buy new ones when I find ones I love.
7. Fall! But I do like spring for how sunny it is, even if I normally stay inside.
8. I like watching movies/YouTube/TV and sometimes playing games (switch, board games, in phone games). I used to really like to color but one of my health problems affects my hands and I usually can't color very much.
9. Coloring better than drawing! When big, I'm kind of an artist, and so it's still hard for that part of my brain to turn off when little. Coloring doesn't matter how it looks but I can be perfectionist about my drawings.
10. It changes! I love love love Little Mermaid! Also Aladdin! And Lion King! When Tangled came out I watched it every day for months. Same with Moana.
11. Donald! At least out of the main crew. I also love Mickey and Goofy. I've always loved Eeyore. And Sully. And Tigger!
12. Probably Ariel + Eric, I love both! I like Belle and Beast too.
13. Octonauts is a top fave. I watch a lot of YouTube and less TV shows though.
14. I really like Fred Jones from Scooby Doo
15. Yes, I have a dog! He's a big white husky and I call him "silly butt" so often he responds to that just as much as his actual name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
16. I've always really loved dragons so probably one of those!
17. Tigers or Sharks!
18. I have many. It depends on the day to which one I snuggle or bring with me around the house. Most of them are baby blankets, one is a star wars blankie, and some are Cloak brand blankets (they're so big and usually silky-soft)
19. Lavender is one of my favorite smells! I also have a pain relief blend with lavender, peppermint, wintergreen, and more that I love! I also just got some candles and oils from Magic Candle Company and their Jungle Cruise scent (I think it's call Jungle Boat) is one of my new favorite smells!
Tumblr media
20. I think it was Spiderman! And iron fist! It was a few months ago during a better day
21. Crayons! Sometimes markers and colored pencils!
22. I'm an Aries! But my moon is cancer and rising is aquarius which are both water signs! Which makes me a weird Aries sometimes!
23. Disney stores!!! It's like a little piece of magic! I live pretty far from either park (though Disneyland is my park) and it's nice to visit something like that without having to have a lot of money and travel. But sadly the one that's near me closed as part of a lot of closures Disney did. Now the closest one is at least an hour drive away and I don't like that mall as much. Also I do like build a bear but they don't always have things I actually want, especially cuz each store has different critters. I got Nala the last time I was in a Disney store.
Tumblr media
24. Fave games... Hm well I'm deeply attached to Kingdom Hearts (even if I haven't finished the 3rd game). I really love the Dark Pictures Anthology games! They are spooky and werid but I am sometimes a spooky baby.
25. I really love fruit! Applesauce and fruit leathers are easiest for me to get myself, but sometimes my mom will help me with a clementine or cutting up an apple. Sometimes I have pudding, or dry cereal.
26. Juice! All different kinds!
27. Chocolate!!! I had ding-dongs for breakfast the other day when I was regressed early.
Tumblr media
28. Lots of stuff and weirdly at the same time very few things. I have some pretty bad social anxiety, and also generalized anxiety. And yet there aren't as many specific things I fear. I really don't like creepy crawlies (spiders and most bugs) but I can deal with them, and when I'm outside I just leave them alone! I'm usually very paranoid about sounds and stuff but that fades when I'm regressed.
29. I'm really bad at finding something "unique" to talk about! I don't feel like I have any random of cool skills. I am also limited by my chronic health conditions and so I don't have exciting or relatable things to talk about very much... How about... I am super nerdy! I have a bunch of fixations that cycle around and they are all like, TV shows or movies or books or genres or games. Ummmm also I just bought my second official Mermaid tailskin. I have a mermaid tail my friends and I made a long time ago, but last year I finally got a monofin and actual professionally made tail! And I just got another tail to go over the same monofin. I don't have anywhere to regularly swim near me :( but I still really wanted a more bright/colorful tail than my first one!
30. This is gonna come off as odd maybe but being in a lot of pain can put me in little space. My chronic pain can fluctuate and sometimes when it's really bad or multiple of my issues are bad at once I involuntarily regress. It helps me stress out less and deal with my pain in a more simple way. And that it's okay if I need to cry. And it helps me get distracted by simple stuff and stop focusing on my pain level.
Thanks for getting to know me if you read this stupid long post! Also thanks if you just liked it because there's a picture of mickey and my dog!

I'm reading a new book and can't find any good music to listen to while reading. Do you have any suggestions or any recommended artists?
Okay! I am so excited about answering this! I, too, am always on the hunt for the perfect reading music! I’m not sure what genres you like/if you want music with lyrics or not so I’m going to throw a ton of stuff out there - I hope there’s something that strikes your fancy, and if you have a more specific request that I don’t cover, then feel free to ask! I personally listen to a lot of rock/punk music while I read, so if that’s interesting to you I can add some of that music, but I’ll stick with mostly ambient/peaceful/not distracting stuff.
Reading Music Masterlist
Music without lyrics
If you have a spotify account, then there’s a Spotify-created playlist called “Deep Focus” and this is my absolute go-to for academic reading or when I’m trying to do personal reading in a noisy location. It’s calm and peaceful and I basically lose all sensation and forget where I am beyond the story I’m reading.
Another Spotify playlist I really liked is called “Studying with Classical Music” created by user classifyapp1. It’s updated weekly though, so sometimes I’m in love with it and can’t get enough, and sometimes I don’t like anything on it. It’s still worth checking out if you can if you like classical music whilst reading.
If you don’t use spotify/want more specific recs, here are a few (still without lyrics):
Anything by Clocks & Clouds - perfect for action/intense reads because I always feel like I’m walking away from a fight scene with a building exploding behind me when I listen to them
Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: Allegretto by Beethoven conducted by Leonard Bernstein - This piece is super cool because scientists have discovered that the chord sequences are perfect for releasing happy and stress-relieving chemicals in your body. Like the chords literally resonate with your body, or something like that (I switched from Bio Engineering to English for a reason). Also a great piece for getting work done on a tight deadline with a lot of stress
Pavane composed by Faure - peaceful with an enchanted forest feel
Anything composed by Philip Glass - my personal favorite is Akhenaten: Prelude
Gone in Bloom and Bough by Caspian - very ambient, and out-of-body
anything by Kyle Landry, but I particularly like the Howl’s Moving Castle Theme
Gaspard de la nuit: Ondine composed by Ravel (I like Martha Argerich’s recording quite a bit)
You Are a Memory by Message to Bears (ambient)
Come Away With Me by Tracey Chattaway (ambient)
Dancing on the Light by Richard Dillon (ambient)
Quiet by This Will Destroy You (ambient)
Rheaide does a cover of the Beauty and the Beast - Prologue music without any narration, just music, and I listen to this constantly while reading but just living my daily life. It makes me feel like a girl with her nose stuck in a book :)
ANYTHING by Joe Hisaishi - “Hisaishi Meets Miyazaki Films” is one of the best things to have happened to this planet
Vitamin String Quartet
Beyond this, other instrumental things that are great for reading are movie/video game soundtracks because they’re story-oriented which means they can set the mood really well for whatever you’re reading if you get the right thing. Some of the classic movie score composers that I would recommend are Dario Marinelli, Alexandre Dumas (his Harry Potter soundtracks give me life and I most certainly listened to them when reading the series), Hans Zimmerman, and John Williams.
One of my favorite video game soundtrack composers is Jeremy Soule who does Guild Wars and the Elder Scrolls (Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s music is f a n t a s t i c for reading). Final Fantasy music is also good for mood-setting. My absolute go-to’s when reading though are the Music from Braid soundtrack by Sieber, Kammen, Fulton and Schatz and Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts (the Dearly Beloved cover by Vitamin String Quartet for reads that are wholesome and romantic or even empowering coming-of-age type stories).
Lastly, the Avatar the Last Airbender soundtrack the Voltron soundtrack for the remake of the TV show are EPIC esp if you’re reading action/space operas.
Music with lyrics
What I do a lot of the time when I want music with lyrics to get me in the right mood for the book I’m reading, is I’ll do specific playlist searches on Google. For example, I’m reading A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab rn and love Lila’s character, so I just searched “Delilah Bard character playlist” and got great results. 8tracks.com users are also stars are creating fantastic character/book-specific playlists and they’re free!! Which is the best part!!
Here’s some music I gravitate towards when I’m reading but don’t have the energy to get all artsy with mood playlists:
Bloodstream by Stateless
Halsey’s first album
Marina and the Diamonds - Numb and Robot are two of my faves
Bloodsport by Raleigh Ritchie - If you like Rainbow Rowell, she added this to Baz’s character playlist from Carry On and it is PERFECT so I listened to it on repeat while reading. Also fun because Raleigh Ritchie aka Jacob Anderson was Grey Worm in the GoT TV show if that’s up your alley
Peppermint by Lovers
Anything by Tess Parks
Cigarettes after Sex - Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby is quite peaceful and reassuring for trying to get into a safe space mindset for reading
Once again if you have Spotify, Afternoon Acoustics playlist is perfect for curling up in a window or garden on a sunny day with a light read
We Are Broken by Paramore - fits apocalyptic reads quite well I think
A Sunday Smile originally by Beirut covered by Kishi Bashi
Forest Fire by Brighton
My last suggestion: if none of this music strikes your fancy, then you could try www.ambient-mixer.com!! There’s a ton of background noise tracks and they’re so fun and perfect for geeks, with tracks like “Gryffindor Common Room,” “D/D fantasy inn/tavern,” “Belle’s Library,” and less specific ones like “Summer Forest” and “On a Ship at Sea.” Perfect for immersing yourself into whatever story you’re reading!
Sorry this is so long, as I tried to be fairly comprehensive. Once again, feel free to ask me for more specific recs if this wasn’t helpful. And anyone else is welcome to add to this if they have suggestions! I hope you enjoy your reading :)
