so, when is DoM(a)H chapter 45(or 44 if we aren’t counting the poll “chapter” coming? I’m not trying to rush you I just wanna ask, also I thought of a scenario where Pluto comes in and is like “Death Scream” while deku is fighting with the other sailor scouts(and maybe some others come and join like Bakugou) and they are wondering how the sailor scouts aren’t questioning that Pluto isn’t a planet but how is their a sailor Pluto?(I know this doesn’t make any sense)

I'm going to answer the Pluto bit later on (to the other ask) but, in all honesty, I'm not really sure about when I'll be able to update.

I have had some irl stuff to go through and when I sit to write nothing good comes out, I have been thinking of altering some planned plot points but I'd have to rewatch/reread the materials, and I don't have time for it right now.

That said, I'll do my best to come back with good chapters as soon as I'll figure this out, I wish it wasn't a problem with my writing in general (I am stuck with all my fics and even my undergrad thesis) but it is.

Dunno how to put it properly into words but lately I find myself thinking more about that particular innocence of fairy tales, for lack of better word. Where a traveller in the middle of a field comes across an old woman with a scythe who is very clearly Death, but he treats her as any other auntie from the village. Or meeting a strange green-skinned man by the lake and sharing your loaf of bread with him when he asks because even though he's clearly not human, your mother's last words before you left home were to be kind to everyone. Where the old man in the forest rewards you for your help with nothing but a dove feather, and when you accept even such a seemingly useless reward with gratitude, on your way home you learn that it's turned to solid gold. Where supernatural beings never harm a person directly and every action against humans is a test of character, and every supernatural punishment is the result of a person bringing on their own demise through their own actions they could have avoided had they changed their ways. Where the hero wins for no other reason than that they were a good person. I don't have the braincells to describe this better right now but I wish modern fairy tales did this more instead of trying to be fantasy action movies.

Are there any plans on continuing DoMaH or is it abandoned?

I plan to continue it, for sure! It's rare that I abandon stories for good, especially stories I worked so long on and I hold dear, I have stories of 10 or 15 years old that I still pick up and continue when I am in the right state of mind, and DoMaH is one of those long-loved stories I could never bring myself to abandon for good, I consider it on hold until I'll be able to pick it back up, that's it.

To be honest, I got a little far from the BnHA fandom ever since the war arc started, I found it too heavy for my current state of mind, I think I'll be waiting for the manga to end to read it all at once. That doesn't mean the fic will reprise only after the end of the manga, I hope to find inspiration and good ideas to move forth the plot earlier than that but, currently, I don't have the ability to write for it and I can't promise anything.

I'm sorry to make you all wait, it's just that I'd rather do a good job and enjoy the process than offer half-baked chapters just to finish quickly, I'd end up hating the result and ruin it for all of us.

So I'm leaving work and something darts in front of me, maybe 10ft away, too fast for me to see what it is. Peek around the tree blocking my path and I see this

Just like... a whole ass hawk. Dude's gotta be about 1.5ft tall. Massive fucking bird. And it's just staring me straight in my soul like this, even as I try to move ahead. It didn't budge. And there's only this path back to my car unless I want to walk on a busy highway. So I have the option of Death By Raptor or Death By Truck.

So I walk in the poison ivy filled patch off the sidewalk. Guy still isn't moving. Still staring me directly in the eyes. And I do this thing when animals are behaving strangely where I'll talk to them, so I'm just like, "Hey, man. I don't know you. You don't know me. This feels really threatening. I'm just trying to get to my car, dude. Can I get some space please? You're a big fucking bird. I see those claws. You could kill me right now, but I'd appreciate if you didn't, ok?"

It didn't move until I was about 2ft away. Again: I'm as far from it as I can be without walking into the street. It clearly wasn't going to budge. I walk past, thing flies up (silent, btw. Scary) and lands on a brick wall a little further ahead

Anyway. Weird guy. Nearly shit my pants when I noticed a bird big enough to carry off a fully grown cat was just... there, staring me in the face, unwilling to move away from me, a human, something it should see as a threat. I watched behind me the whole rest of the way to my car, just in case this bird decided to help me shed this mortal coil. 10/10 experience. Super cool guy.

I think, perhaps one of the funniest things to come from EPIC popularising the Odyssey is that now a ton of people think Poseidon wanted to kill Odysseus.

In the Odyssey, Poseidon has no intention of killing Odysseus. In fact, part of the whole reason Zeus lets Poseidon do whatever he wants even though he thinks Odysseus is rad and should get to kiss his wife is explicitly because Poseidon had no intentions of killing Odysseus. Poseidon wanted to pay back the suffering/inconvenience blinding Polyphemus would have caused. It's a really abstract thing tbh. How do you pay back someone permanently disabling your son? Poseidon's solution was just to amputate Odysseus from his other half; i.e. Penelope. The end game was never murder, it was always an endurance race.

Also, for those wondering if there's any sort of in text reason for why Poseidon wasn't around in God Games - at the time in the Odyssey when Athena petitions Zeus to let Odysseus leave Calypso's island, Poseidon was -checks notes- on vacation in Ethiopia. Yep. He left to Ethiopia for a festival and thusly was very much absent for Athena's whole "please let Ody go? Please? 🥺" request.
