TMAGP 15 THOUGHTS

Ok, I'm going to try to go in order of the episode so I don't confuse anyone 😅

● Pre - Case

First off, while reading the transcript, I noticed the title (under Episode 15) said "Good Show" while under the Announcer's lines it says "Well Run," the title used on YouTube. I wonder if this was the original title, a typo, or something else. Also, I did check every other transcript, and all match with the announcer's lines and top of the page title. Just something random I noticed lol

According to Wikipedia, a summary of 'The Pillowman' (the play Sam and Celia were planning on going to) is:

"Katurian, a writer of short stories that often depict violence against children, has been arrested by two detectives, Ariel and Tupolski, because some of his stories resemble recent child murders. When he hears that his brother Michal has confessed to the murders and implicated Katurian, he resigns himself to being executed but attempts to save his stories from destruction. The play contains both narrations and reenactments of several of Katurian's stories, including the autobiographical "The Writer and the Writer's Brother", which tells how Katurian developed his disturbed imagination by hearing the sounds of Michal being tortured by their parents."

I wonder if this might be foreshadowing: either for another Avatar, or maybe what someone is going to try to do to Jack (this would break me, I hope he stays safe 😭😭😭), or maybe it could be a nod to Sam's or Celia's past?

On a lighter note, I really enjoyed the Sam/Alice/Celia interactions! Maybe a polycule in the making?

● Case

This case was definitely of the Hunt. It kinda reminded me of the 'Murder Club' episode in TMA. Lady Mowbray is definitely interesting! I hope we get to see more of her :3 I wonder if her family is one of Avatars, like the Fairchilds (adopting other Avatars in, instead of focusing on blood like the Lukas'). Also, I wonder if the 'dogs' are like Daisy's transformation in S5, but more extreme. Just a werid thought I had lol

● Post - Case

Mowbray telling Celia that she's "different???" More nods to Celia being from TMA! (:

Also, the fact that Celia caught onto her being an Avatar and the "No you won't" to "catch you next time, dearie?" Let's go, Celia!

WTH is a 'Cheshire Bouchard?' Is it like the Fairchilds or Lukas'? Is it a family of Avatars? Are there multiple Bouchard families? Are Gwen and Elias even related? I have so many questions 😭

We also got to meet Luke which was cool! I hope nothing bad happens to him (me actively remembering what happened to Tim's brother) 😅

As for 'Victim' and Alice: the victim had to be a victim of the Vast, especially since they talk about stuff like the sea, the sky, deep blue, no ground, ect. And they seemed tied to the tape recorder in some way? I wonder if this universe's Archivist or Magnus or Head of the Institute had a similar power to Jon but more extreme. Like how Elias said that he was 'dream sharing' and was (accidentally) forcing people to relive their experiences with the fears in their dreams, I wonder if it's something like that, but more extreme and tied to their statements? Sorta like how Jon had the statements as an anchor, maybe the person anchored the victim's experience to the tape recorder, causing the spewing up water and choking and such.

Anyway, really interesting episode!

Did we just get foreshadowed on our final girl? Did phee ever manage to find out that Jin was possibly the one who leaked the sex tape? How do his feelings for jin come into play 3 years later? Does he even really have feelings for him or is it all part of the plan? White (sweet baby) and Perth's character??? Non's absent brother??????? WHO THE FUCK IS TAN WITH THIS CONTEXT?

Your first initial impressions of any Twst character vs your current feelings about them?

honestly, my perception of pretty much every character went through some metamorphosis of "this guy looks like a jerk" to "oh, he's a stupid jerk? now hold on." it's all about that balancing act between a dark brooding asshole and a dark brooding asshole who is also totally ridiculous, and it really does make ALL the difference.

perhaps most ironically, I've mentioned before that I was absolutely not into the Diasomnias at first, because the impression the website gave pre-release was somehow even less favorable than for everyone else and I was mad at Lilia for getting my hopes up for a token girl). and then we got their stories and, well, I kind of just haven't stopped thinking about them since. 🤷

also, I went in thinking that Crowley was going to be. y'know. competent at his job. a helpful guide. a mysterious yet caring mentor figure, a fitting leader for this band of delicate young magic waifs with their fancy little magic outfits and their perfect, perfect hair. I've never been so glad to be wrong.

Something important that I remembered recently was what advice I got from watching Bob Ross paint (yes I do bob ross paintings in my free time, moving on) which is that when you're following someone else's process, you're not trying to copy them, but rather emulate them and learn the fundamentals while do so.

It's how I'm now able to do paintings in 'bob ross style' without following a tutorial bc i learned the basics first and foremost. And besides being my moots (who I think are so cool and amazing) I chose these 4 designs specifically because of how distinct their styles are and how each ends up with very pretty end results regardless.

So that's how we ended up with the last three drawings of the week, which are me trying to figure out a more lax sketch/doodle style (Day 20), a very detailed style for more 'finished' pieces (Day 21), and lastly somewhere in between (Day 19).

I've seen a lot of growth in myself while going through this challenge, both in my art and in my confidence towards it, and I'm excited to finish out this next week. Who knows, might see a few other familar faces mixed in :)

4Minutes EP. 3 - My Takeaways

I went back and skimmed through the previous episodes 1 and 2 (which I've already posted my takeaways for in the previous weeks) to confirm a few thoughts I have now that I finished episode 3.

Tyme's Temperament (Childhood Trauma)

I found this small exchange between Tyme and Great to be pretty insightful in terms of how Tyme's attitude affects his every day outlook on life. This seems to be a common trope in films and TV (especially in thriller/crime genres) where a main character has motives to avenge the death of their parents, which I'd assume would be the case with Tyme as well as the series goes on and we're given more context to why Tyme is caught up in Great's family organized crime scheme. Given that his motivation for being a surgeon isn't rooted in being a contributing member to society through hospitality but by making ends meet for him and his grandmother, it's no surprise that Tyme's attitude towards his patients is distant and impersonal. This dissociation can also stem from experiencing a huge loss at a young age, and putting the burden of financial responsibility onto himself.

We see this by a shift in Den's disdain for Tyme's lack of empathy towards his patients by going against their wishes for the mere sake of not letting his patient die, which we can already see this dependence Tyme has with being unable to let go and allow the laws of nature to run its course. Given that this seems to be a recurring theme of Tyme's from how Den's attitude was when reminding Tyme of the patient's name, we hope that his story arc will consist of Tyme learning what it means to "let go," especially because he's taught himself for many decades to "hold on."

Win and Tonkla (Your Wish is My Command)

The way these two establish their relationship in this episode isn't surprising to me, but what became evident was the juxtaposition in how Tonkla's treated by Korn and by Win. Korn became someone who shoves Tonkla to the side, someone who he had successfully hid away from his personal life and making a deliberate choice to keep a distance from him. This lack of communication burdens Tonkla to a point of heightening his grief, which we know how corrupted it is for officials to rendezvous with victims of a case assigned to them, but ultimately sparks codependency between Win and Tonkla, which Tonkla relied on Korn for until he became an after thought mourning the death of his younger brother (thank goodness Dome is alive btw). The stark difference between Win's approach versus Korn's is simple: fulfilling the wishes of Tonkla. Although we've only seen this exchange occur during the heat of sex, we see Tonkla ask the same of both people (fuck me raw?), Korn saying nothing while protecting himself while Win speaks up for the sake of their safety. However, this will become a losing game if Tonkla still seeks validation from Korn, pushing him beyond his limits and may contribute to harming the individual that we saw in the opening of episode 2. I also want to know whether or not this will heavily affect Win's desire to help Tonkla with his younger brother's case, revealing his chief to be one who's accepted bribes in the past and has a strong sense of justice.

Great Documents the Timeline

Thank you for Great having a head on his shoulders and taking the time to document his findings on how his visions and powers work, giving us a chance as the audience to continue with our own theories and assumptions. I don't really have any plausible reasons for what each minute in Great's visions represent just yet, but I'm leaning towards each time Great and Tyme make a decision significant in keeping their paths crossed.

When it was 11:00 - Great runs into Tyme in the ward after leaving flowers for the patient. When it was 11:01 - Right after Great and Tyme exchange phone numbers. When it was 11:02 - Great finds Tyme attacking his brother, but is revealed his true identity when confronted outside the lounge.

Foreshadowing

I found the inclusion of the message "Can you forgive me Great?" to be the most interesting in the entire episode: because the message only becomes important once we're revealed that Tyme is connected to Nan, the woman who infiltrated the crime scheme and sending evidence back who we can assume right now is either Tyme or the police investigators. But then it makes me wonder: how is Tyme associated with her, is he more than a regular surgeon at the hospital with a connection to the police or is he actually a part of the police which is already iffy for me because if he's also an undercover investigator AND surgeon good fucking god...? Are both of them individuals who are outside of the police investigation as it seems Win isn't aware of their participation as a potential fellow investigator? Since Win was forced to step down from Tonkla's brother's case (I can only assume it's treated separately from the gambling investigation), does that mean he will invest more into the online gambling case since now not only was there a hacker and shareholder mole involved in episode 2, but now we have Nan being held hostage (which I'm still unsure of whether she's working directly with Tyme or with the investigators as well)?

Honorable Mentions: Meeting Between the Two Visionaries

I'm curious to know how Den will set up his patient with Great, since he's been doing extensive research into their prospects. Will they meet in person beforehand: have they already met in his "gallery" that Great described it as when he wrote down his findings? Will this "gallery" be a recurring setting we will encounter as the series progressed (since it's featured in the trailer and teaser photos prior to the first episode's release?) And I just rewatched the trailer again: I'll still be shocked if Tyme is actually undercover while still doing his doctoral duties cause that'd be a little insane to me...

It's the 10th episode of Perfect 10 Liners, and I'm getting POLY! Not really. Not even close. But I did get a moment of clarity about Yotha and Faifa's bed sheets. I was confused because Black Brooder Yotha has the blue ones instead of his brother who is a Blue Boy, but then it occurred to me that since Yotha is dark and Faifa is light, Yotha is the moon (blue bed) and Faifa is the sun (yellow bed), and Gun (green) is the earth right between them.

Because Gun is definitely a Green Guy since he is so fresh.

So that's why I think Green Guy Gun wore blue a few times since he is already embracing Yotha's darkness.

Yotha is definitely a Black Brooder who enjoys the darkness.

But even the blue moon shines some light every now and then, and I know the moon doesn't actually shine, and it's merely a reflection of the sun's light.

Which is why his mentor, Yellow Yal Arm, is going to make sure he gets some extra help by sending him all his light.

In the form of those ridiculously bright pajamas.

And Yotha's brother, who loves the spotlight, is also hyping him up to his new roomie.

So Yotha really doesn't have an option to remain in the dark.

The narrative simply won't allow it.

The brightness is always shining through in the form of his mentor and his brother.

And now Gun.

So even when he tries to put back on his black and go out into the darkness,

He'll always return back to his brightly lit room and his radiant roommate.

So, once again, while Yotha is getting lighter and brighter, I think ingenuous Gun, who loves him mother dearly, will get darker.

And him wearing blue to match Yotha's bed is the beginning of his journey.

They are balancing each other out.

Because no matter how solemn Yotha is,

And how bubbly Gun is,

They need to find a middle-ground, and I think this episode was the beginning of that for them.

But first, we have to figure out who hurt Yotha bad enough that he wears a "I Dream You Love Me Again" shirt.

Yet hopes he doesn't dream at all, so he doesn't wake up with the pain of knowing it's not real.

And I pray that my fellow chismoso figures it out quickly!

Hard to keep secrets when you can't hide in the darkness, Yotha!

Other color observations:

Sam is for sure a Red Rascal.

So I'm hoping he is the good kind instead of the bad kind, like the devil.

I have no idea what was going on with Arm and Arc's colors this episode.

Or Orange Oddity Pond's color since Blue Boy Sand still retained his even though he was losing his mind.

But I'm going to excuse it because this episode featured eight other characters that I didn't even get to, and I'm consistently hindered by this ruthless thirty image limit, so I cannot imagine being the wardrobe department and props department for this show with a limited budget and a brutal timeline.

Basically, they deserve a raise!
