#I'm reading this novel for the 3rd time and every krs snippet makes me cry

Kim rok soo being 'the recorder' (as sherrit refers to him) is so sad

he was there for the people who didn't have anybody to remember them after they passed away. he'll literally never forget anybody who's died around him.

He says something similar to this to raon: "raon, I'm someone who cannot forget. Don't be like me." Just from that single sentence, he says so many different things imo.

"don't sacrifice yourself like me."

"don't carry your grief inside of you like i do"

"don't hang on to painful memories. unlike me, you're allowed to forget."

"it's okay to have regrets, don't let them haunt you like i did."

While I'm sure he'd probably say something like "i just meant to not sacrifice yourself." We all know his words always have a deeper meaning than he likes to admit.

Back to the first point i made, the irony is that I don't think he even remembers his biological parents' faces, he was so young when they died 😭
