#I'm not sure how many partners tim has had but I got 4 & the only one shorter than him is the person he dated before Steph

There is a post that lives in my head rent free and that is the one about Steph being 6 feet tall and that she's about Jason's height

As seen in these panels here.

This lives in my head for a few reasons:

A, if Jason gets badly hurt, like he breaks his leg, but for some reason red hood is needed, steph could have a brief stint as red hood, adding to the portfolio of aliases she's already acquired.

2, I want Steph to have been taller than tim when they were dating, so that most of his romantic interests are taller than him(I'm not sure of the height difference between tim and Bernard, but screw it. make all of Tim's love interests taller than him)

3, Steph calling everyone around her shorty-pants or some variation, no matter what height they are. Solomon Grundy? Hey how you doing, short king?

4. Steph being Bruce's height. That's all the thoughts there.

5. Steph giving out head pats at all times. Whether it's to be cute or to be a menace is to be debated. Like it's cute when it's with Cassie, and definitely to be a menace when it's Damian, but what about dick or Harper?

Anyway, steph deserves to be at least 6 feet tall.

5 Works

The lightnin' in my heart makes it worth it: My first Rookie story and what I hope is the first of many. Chenford stole my heart and I had the best time writing them. I also love every single character on the show and had a lot of fun writing them ganging up on poor Tim.

Silhouettes with no regrets: Heartstopper is one of my favorite stories and I loved writing a Tarlos fic inspired by the show. I really like the balance it has between my usual angst, emotional moments between the boys and more romance than I've ever written.

A Partner's Always Got Your Back + A Friend's Always Got Your Back: Two fics that could be a first and second chapter of the same fic; hence, why I added them both. This was my first time writing from a perspective other than Tarlos and I had so much fun. I love Nancy and I really enjoyed getting inside her head, and showing her sass, how badass she is, and how good a friend she is to her partner and Carlos.

The Green and Brown of Each Other’s Eyes: This one is also very special and easily one of my favorite fics I've ever written. I loved filling in the blanks of various show moments and showing in my own way the growth and evolution of TK and Carlos' relationship. It has some of my favorite lines ever and I just loved exploring Tarlos and sprinkling little parts of myself within their story.

Surrounded by Love: My father passed away in 2020 and I wrote this fic about TK dealing with the passing of his mother in honor of that storyline and my favorite character, and as a tribute to my father and my own grief. It's very personal and very special and easily my #1 favorite.

4 WIPS

The Courthouse fic: Tarlos, Nancy and Tommy + Owen and Gabriel at court when a bad guy breaks out; what could possibly go wrong? Been working on this one on and off since 2021 and it rarely cooperates. I started working on it last week again and might have figured out how to make it work for a bingo square but we will see.

Domestic Abuse: A NCISLA bingo square where Deeks suspects his neighbor is a victim of domestic abuse. My typical angst with some of my 'humor' in between.

A The Rookie fic of Chenford's first Valentine's Day together since they started dating.

An earthquake fic for my 'Natural Disaster' bingo square that I haven't started. Not sure yet if I want it to be for The Rookie and Chenford, or Lone Star and Tarlos.

3 Biggest Improvements

Better integrating my dialogue with the descriptions of what the characters are doing and what's happening around them.

I used to be very much an introspective writer and I spent a lot of time getting inside character's head and doing descriptions. Now I feel more comfortable writing dialogue and incorporating more characters into my fics.

I used to think I could only write fic for NCISLA and even that was mostly a fluke. I've now written for 8 fandoms and have learned to see I'm a good enough writer in my own way. I see how happy writing makes me and now that, for better or worse, it's probably going to be a part of my life forever.

2 Resolutions

Writing consistently: I wrote 13 fics in 2022. 12 in between January and May, and 1 in December. Enough said lol.

I want to get better at adding humor and romance into my fics. I love whump and angst but want to feel as comfortable writing other emotions and different types of scenes as I do with those two.

Needing Help (Spleen AU)

I don't remember how or why this came up but in this AU Dick's had his spleen removed.. (didn't Tim Drake have this happen? Maybe I just stole it and handed it over).

This is an after. It's a cross over with Dean Cain's "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman". Sooo 66 Batman and 90s Superman.

The young teen lifted his head from the jacket that had become his pillow since they had started the car ride two hours ago. He blinked sleepily as his vision cleared and he saw signs for Metroplis that said "5 miles" away. He sat up slowly, his arm wrapped around his stomach, he still felt very queasy and weak. "…B-Bruce? What are we doing i-in Metroplis?"

"Easy Chum, I have to fly out to CA for three days remember? I tried to cancel but they wouldn't let me." The millionaire glanced over giving a worried smile. "Since Alfred is on Vacation and I'm not too sure I can trust your Aunt with this, I called a friend."

"A-A friend?" Dick looked over at his mentor eyes wide, Bruce didn't have many people he called "friends" that he trusted to look after his ward. It wasn't uncommon at all for Dick to just accompany Bruce places because of this issue. He moaned putting a hand to his mouth as he felt his stomach churn. "B-Bruce.."

The adult sighed pulling over, they were at their first stop anyway. "Alright, easy." He stopped the car and got out running over to the passenger side where he opened the car door, helping the teen out. He had to all but hold Dick up, his ward had no strength left. He helped his partner up the stairs into the large building passing as sign that said "Daily Planet".

"Clark, there is someone here to see you." One of the interns shouted as they ran past his desk after being called by Perry. "He's downstairs…got a kid."

Lois lifted her head from what she was writing raising an eyebrow, "…a man with a kid? Why Clark, I never knew you swung that way…though it does explain a lot."

The other only rolled his eyes standing up, "..yes Lois, you've got me. I'm totally gay and I've got a child that you never knew about.. When you stay over after our dates I put the kid in the closet so you won't see him."

She pouted, "Fine be that way, I was only joking. Who is here? Can I meet him?"

Clark turned to look at her as he gathered his things, he wasn't planning on forcing Bruce's ward to say here the rest of the day and had already asked Perry for the rest of the day off. His look told her he wasn't in the mood for games. "Yes, but don't get any ideas for any interviews. You've heard his name, trust me, all over the place. He came over from Gotham."

Her eyes lit up as she all but jumped out of her chair, "Ohhhh?! Don't tell me you are somehow friends with Bruce Wayne!?"

"Out of all the people in Gotham, how did you come up with his name?"

"Well he's the only one who has a "kid" ..that one he adopted? Vikie Vale covered that story 4 years ago, it was awful! But I remember it." She followed him down to the elevator getting in. "Hey Clark, why is he friends with you anyway?"

"..I wouldn't exactly call it friends…" He muttered pushing the button. "..and well we sort of have the same kind of part time job away from our normal jobs." Her eyes widened as her quick mind put two and two together, her mouth dropping open in shock. He leaned forward stealing a quick kiss from her before the doors opened for them to exit and walk to the front of the building. "..There she is! There's the quick smart reporter I fell in love with."

"Dick?" Bruce called as he stood at the door of the restroom, he looked over his shoulder not wanting to miss Clark but at the same time keep an eye on his ward. He sees the only other man he can trust with his partner enter the room with the other female reporter - Lois Lane. He felt his walls come back up as his gaze met with Clark's silently demanding an answer as to why she's there. "Dick are you ok?" He hears the toliet flush and hears a weak groan as his ward appears face pale, nearly white.

He reaches out steadying the teen before helping him walk back over to their things. "One step at a time, chum. That’s it.."

Clark blinked, Dick looked a lot worse than he had assumed he would. In fact he had never seen the Boy Wonder look this ill before. "..Dick. Y-You look horrible, what happened?!"

"Clark? What's going -" Lois was cut off by Dick collapsing into Bruce. She watched wide eyed as the man she knew was Batman lift the teen with ease and carry him over to a bench. Beside her Clark walked past her kneeling down by the bench with Bruce talking quietly to him. She stayed back knowing better to get into their conversations.

"S-Sorry, Bruce.." Dick said weakly, his cheeks flushed with fever, blue eyes glazed over. He weakly clung to his mentor as if afraid to let go.

"Deep breaths, Dick, deep breaths. It's all ok." Bruce reassured.

"Bruce, what is going on? You said he was sick but this is ridiculous." Clark hissed with worry.

"It's a combination of things… you haven't heard. Three months ago, he was beat up pretty badly," Bruce's eyes darkened as he was forced to remember the accident that caused all of this. "He had to go to the Hospital and have surgery. They removed his spleen."

"W-What?!" Clark looked up at Dick puttig a hand on the teen's knee comfortingly as he listened.

"Yes, with that comes a weakened immune system. We both have done well up until now. Two  nights ago was his first night patrol since the accident. He was posioned, I think, by King Tut. The doctor says its just the stomach flu and his body trying to figure out why it's being thrown into battle so soon.."

"What do you really think it is?"

"A combination of all of it. Right now, he has vomiting and weak spells. He can't keep anything down and his fever fluctuates, he has fainting spells - like what he just had."

"And you are leaving him with me because?" Clark asked. "Not that I don't mind helping or caring, but Bruce, this is a bit much. ..you lugged him all the way from a comfy bed in Gotham to the Daily Planet?"

"I have no choice. I don't trust anyone else to watch him. I have a board meeting with the trustees of Wayne Enterprises, if I don't attend they can and will try to throw me out as exceutive. I haven't been to a meeting in four months. Apparently a sick bed ridden child doesn't count as an excuse to stay out of meetings. So I am going. But I need you to help. He needs constant supervision."

I'm not against Kon and Steph getting along. But last time I remember, Kon hated and treated Steph poorly. I might be wrong, since I've never really followed his comic after that. Not sure if there is still some grudge between them.

I really hated that Fritzman only use Setph only for supporting plot, without context. They broke up off panel, Steph and Kon become friend off panel.. like, really? It was all too sudden, and doesn't make sense at all (continuity wise)

So there was one issue/instance of Kon treating Steph poorly- back when Steph had become Robin and he couldn’t find Tim:

Now, it definitely sucks that he was a jerk to her and he was being unreasonable, but it was an isolated incident. Before this they’d been in the same space (like during some YJ 98 stuff and a few other big group cameos in assorted books) and while they hadn’t really directly talked, they seemed to interact fine.

And like, after the Steph as Robin incident like once he’d actually talked to Tim there… he definitely did not seem to be holding any sort of grudge. He was mad at the situation (could not find Tim, and this girl was saying she’s Robin when as far as he knew Tim should be Robin) more than her, Stephanie Brown, as a person. She could have been anyone there and he’d likely have reacted the same (in fact, many years later when Damian is Robin instead of Tim, Kon thinks/acts similarly- just a bit more calmly because at that point he’d grown up a bit).

But like, even just later in pre-reboot continuity we got this line, during Steph’s time as Batgirl, definitely implying any anger towards her is gone:

Then in terms of post-New 52, important to remember/acknowledge that our current Kon is theoretically the same Kon as pre-reboot… so his feelings really wouldn’t have changed. And if there’s anyone to point a finger at for deciding ‘Steph & Kon are friends now’ off-panel it’d be Bendis during YJ 2019 not Fitzmartin:

So continuity-wise there, picking up after Young Justice 2019 stuff, having present day Steph reach out to Kon when she’s worried about Tim and the two of them continuing to talk after that feels like it makes total sense to me.

In terms of the breakup happening off-panel, I agree that’s frustrating (that’s definitely been one of my biggest criticisms of the story since Batman: Urban Legends #4 dropped). But I don’t agree that Steph’s use in the story was ‘without context’ unless you are looking at #4 & #5 without #6.

The last issue of the story gives us the context of why they broke up- that Tim broke up with her for ‘no reason’ (implied by the conversation with Detective Williams that he panicked because of this internal conflict about fitting to an idea of who he thinks he needs to be/this sexuality stuff that he didn’t know how to articulate and just ended things suddenly. Which, i’ve said before but will say again, feels reminiscent to me of when he broke up with Zo suddenly over the phone with no context given to her back at the end of Robin because he thought he might die the next day- Tim not communicating what he’s going through to a partner has been seen in most of his relationships, and him suddenly ending a relationship because of it isn’t unprecedented) leaving her confused (and as we know from #5 concerned) about it:

In an interview (on the Gotham Outsiders Podcast) Fitzmartin had talked about some of the reasoning for choices with Steph having a small role/why the breakup wasn’t shown that made me a bit more at peace with it (basically two main things: page space because each installment was only 10 pages, and wanting to actively avoid Steph acting as an explainer for Tim- a role she has filled in his books before- during this whole thing. Basically to let the story’s focus be on Tim’s internal thoughts as he has to start figuring things out, rather than having someone like her who knows him super well reading him like a book. Having Detective Williams in a sort of guidance role instead worked because he is an outside person that barely knows Tim, a new character, and also is relating his own experiences with this sort of thing to Tim).

Considering the fact that we’ll now be getting Tim & Steph finally talking about some of this stuff, I think it’ll overall feel better once we’ve seen this next part of the story. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we get a flashback to the breakup while they talk about it or something tbh.

But also genuinely, Tim had been having internal crises of a sort for a whole long while (I’d go as far as to say ever since Lonely Place of Living during Detective Comics- having future Tim around caused a whole lot of internal conflict for him then and later in that run too, then finding all the missing memories, then the whole ‘trying to be Drake’ thing, etc) before Urban Legends, and wasn’t always open about them with Steph! (Like the whole ‘he decided he wasn’t going to go to college and then Did Not Tell Her for a while’ conflict once he came back from LPoL that did kinda lead to a temporary breakup with them during ‘tec, for example). So him continuing to have internal crises (now this sexuality stuff) and not communicating it to Steph (thus deciding to cut things off) makes perfect sense to me in context of all of that- he’s struggled to figure out who he is and how he fits into things (and how to articulate what he’s going through during this struggle) for years at this point, and this is all just a continuation of that.

Captain the Retired Police Dog Part 4

Back by popular demand here's Part 4. I just want to thank everybody for reading this. Also Shout out to all the Mummy fans and Maribat discord users thank y'all for hyping me up!

The next morning Damain met Marinette and Captain bright and early 

He was determined to make this day one of the best in Marinette’s life

He was so excited that he didn’t notice his brothers’ strange facsination with his plans

Jason:  So what’s your plan for today? How are you going to top last night’s  movie marthon?

Damain: Not that it’s any of your business, but Marinette, Captain, and I are going to the park where she met me as Damain, then the botanical gardens, and then we’re going to explore the city some more.

Dick:  Not bringing Titus with you this time, Baby Bird?

Damain:  He’s still exsahuted from the late night last night.

Bruce *drinking coffee*:  You should bring Ace with you then.  She needs a day out.

Ace who’s been sitting at Bruce’s feet shot her head up to look at him

Like she really wanted to be stuck with two love stuck teenagers and Titus’ friend

Damain:  Not a bad idea father.  Come on girl let’s head out

Ace just rolled her eyes but went with Damain either way 

 At worst she’ll get some exercise and out of the manor

At best she’ll make a new friend

Once Damain and Ace were out of the house and the other Wayne boys got to work

Dick: Alright men we can do this, all we have to do is decide when to ambush the happy couple.

Jason: I say we do it right when Demon Spawn picks up his Angel

Tim: No too dangerous.  He’ll spot us before she even gets out of her hotel

Dick: What about after the botanical gardens?  We can trail them from a distance until they get in the building then all we have to do is wait outside until they come out.

Jason: GENIUS! And there’s no way for him to avoid us.  

Alfred:  Don’t you have jobs to do

Dick:  We’re pulling a Bruce

Bruce glared at his 3 boys unamused 

Bruce: Just make sure to get plenty of pictures

Jason *saluting*:  Will do

With that the 3 adopted Waynes ran out to inact their plan

Alfred:  Are you sure this is wise sir?

Bruce: If they don’t push Damain we may never meet Marinette

In the hotel Marinette was getting ready for her date with Damain

Tikki: Don’t over think it too much Marinette, Damain really likes you I can tell.

Marinette:  I know Tikki, but I can’t help but be nervous.  What if I do something wrong and he never wants to see me again?

Tikki:  That’s just Lila getting into your head don’t let her.  You are one of the greatest ladybugs I have the priviledge of working with.  Anybody would be lucky to have you as a friend or a romantic partner

Marinette: Thanks Tikki. Your right like always.

Marinette head her phone ding with a notification

Marinette: It's Damian he's waiting for us in the lobby let's go Captain

Down in the lobby Damian was getting a taste of Lila

Lila was holding trying to get a hold of Damian's arm, but Ace was doing a good job at keeping the annoying girl at a distance

Lila: Oh what a beautiful dog. You know I do a lot of volunteer work in animal shelters with Damian Wayne. You know Dami's such an animal lover

Alya: Oh really Lila that's so giving of you.

Damian: You know Damian Wayne?

Lila: I know not many people know. But you probably think the worst of me thanks to Marinette. She's so cruel to me for no reason

Lila started to pretend cry making Alya and the rest of her sheep flock to comfort the "distressed" girl

Damian was in disbelief about how gullible Marinette's class seemed to be.

He was a little relieved to see that some of the class didn't see it buy it.

A blonde girl, pink hair girl, and Asian boy stood at a distance and just rolled their eyes

Chloe, Alix, and Kim have been disillusioned to Lila's lies

Chloe new from the very beginning just didn't see a reason to say anything

Alix and Kim found out over time, they felt like it was too late to do anything and feared ending up like Marinette

So they are biding their time waiting for the best time to exposed Lila

Damian was happy that they didn't fall for this girl's lies, but not so happy that they didn't speak up

Lila tried once again to grab onto Damian's arm, but Ace being the good girl she is growled a little at Lila who once again jumped back

Damian: Sorry about that Ace isn't good with sudden movements. As for Marinette she actually hasn't mentioned you. The only she she told me about anybody in her class was that she was here with them. She does speak a lot about her friends Luka and Kagami though

Lila was surprised she was sure she could use Marinette's whining against her

Lila: Oh how rude of Marinette-

Damian: Actually I don't see anything rude about not mentioning somebody who clearly wants to but her down.

At this point Marinette and Captain walked into the Lobby

Damian: Hey Angel

Damian pulled Marinette into a side hug and giving her a kiss to the side of her head being careful to keep the two dogs at a distance for now

Marinette *giggling*: Hey Damian. Who's this

Marinette looked down at the German Sheperd connected to Damian

Damian: This is Ace. Titus was still tired from last night and I didn't want Captain to get lonely and she could use a day out

Marinette: Well hello Ace

Marinette bent down slightly and let Ace sniff her hand

Ace gave her hand a little sniff, she decided to let the girl give her a pet

Not to mention Ace could sense that she was a lot better then that sausage hair girl

Marinette gave Ace a nice little head rub

Marinette: Well aren't you a pretty girl

Lila seethed in her place she tried to get that stupid dog to let her pet it 10 times, and Marinette just has to let it sniff her hand and it'll let her touch it

Damian: Come on Marinette I got a big day planned for us

Damian wrapped his arm around Marinette shoulder leading Marinette and their dogs out of the hotel, but he stopped right before the door

Damian: And Lila maybe you should make sure you know what a person looks like before you lie about them. I would suggest you look up what Damian Wayne looks like.

With that Damian, Marinette, and the 2 dogs left the hotel

Alix intrigued by Marinette's mysterious boys comment looked up Damian Wayne and burst out laughing

The others in the lobby looked at the pink hair girl in confusion

Alix: No wonder he warned you about looking people up.

Alix showed the picture on her phone to her classmates

Kim: Omg he was Damian Wayne!

Lila faced grew red and quickly tried to cover her tracks

Lila: Oh I must have gotten him confused with someone else. Haha you know I meet with soo many people

Lila's sheep laughed with her, but Lila could sense that she lost a little bit of her hold on them with that slip up

At the park

Marinette: You didn't have to do that Damian?

Damian: And why wouldn't I Angel. She tried to threaten you and she was stupid enough to try and use me to impress ME she deserved to be called out a bit.

Marinette and Damian kept talking while Captain and Ace got to know eachother

Captain had to admit he was a bit smittened by this German sheperd

She looked gorgeous and had a good head on her shoulders

But most importantly he could tell she loved her humans just as much as he loved his

Ace: So you really us to be a police dog?

Captain trying to impress Ace: Yep and I still remember all my training. My girl and I run through courses on the weekends to keep it up, but enough about me tell me about you.

Ace in a bit of a flirty tone: Well I don't mean to brag, but me and my humans go through a lot of training too. I actually have a couple of humans. Though inhave to admit my favorite one is the leader of the pack. He's called Alfred. I didn't have the best puppy hood. Alfred's pup, Bruce, found me and helped other people take me to a shelter. Alfresco came a couple of days later and picked me up. He helped me overcome my past and convinced Bruce to keep me. Now I have a pretty cushy life.

Captain: I can relate to that.

Marinette watched as her big tough retired police dog cuddle with Ace. She could already tell her boy was starting to fall for Ace.

Captain laid his head over Ace's and Marinette couldn't help but aww

Damian wrapping his arm around Marinette as they sit under a tree: What's on your mind Mari?

Marinette: It seems like Captain had fallen for Ace

Damian: I'd have to agree with that and it looks to me like the feelings mutual

The two couples stayed in the park for 2 hours alternating playing and cuddling

Damian: You're going to love this next stop Angel

Marinette: Where are we going?

Damian: You'll see when we get there. Don't you trust me?

Marinette with a small smile: Yes

Once they got to the botanical gardens Marinette loved it!

All the flowers and planets gave her plenty of inspiration and Damian let her stop and draw as much as she wanted without getting impatient or annoyed

He even commented and gave feed back and suggestions to some of Marinette's designs

Damian was just enjoying watching Marinette's face throughout the whole experience.

Her face was so open and showed every emotion that she felt and Damian just couldn't turn away

The dogs also had a great time getting to see new sights and smells.

But in Damian's opinion all that was ruined when they walked outside and saw his brothers

Jason: Hey Demon Spawn

Bonus

Dick: Omg they're both cuddling hurry get a pictur!!!

Jason watching Damianwalk out with his arm around Marinette: Damn I didn't know demon spaw could be so smooth. Hurry get a picture

Tim: Look at them playing with the dogs! Hurry get a picture

Both Dick and Jason gave him a weird look

Tim: Oh right I'm holding the camera.

Okay I can feel y'alls annoyance with the cliffhanger, sorry.
