First impression This was the first Mega Man character that get me hooked to "lore". I know mysterious characters with the deep backstory usually get people, but of all the ones to have them for me it had to be Blues.

I guess at the time, I hadn't really thought of things involving my favorite characters so much like that. Where you'd delve into every aspect of them then create derivative works based on what you've learned, but like in a way that's a slight extension to the canon, as opposed to all-out AUs like that I've usually done in the past.

Some of this follows the thought process I had with Rock and his perspective as a child robot, but with Blues' complicated traits.

Whether it was for light-hearted jokes or emotional explorations, I sure drew a whooole bunch with this fella on that. Maybe the word I'm looking for is a muse.

On simpler terms, I also liked Proto Man's scarf. It brings out his design so nicely, and it's yellow. Which I also like. :)

Impression now I've since moved on from my huge burst of focus on Proto Man, but I'm sure that's what he'd want. I still think he's cool of course.

Favorite moment Do I actually have one? I think it's just nice to see him, really.

Idea for a story I remembered a long time ago that I wanted to put together how I depicted Blues' time with Dr. Light, up until he chose to run away. I never got to that last part though the ideas still float in my mind.

Unpopular opinion I like to see Blues as a kiddo like his brother Rock. Mega Man Upon a Star had a really sweet depiction of him that fit this to a tee.

Favorite relationship You know how I am with the Light Numbers in general. Blues is the oldest one. I remembered really enjoying the art I made where he would be there for his lil'bro.

Gaiden posting time bb, we are officially in full swing. Thanks for ur patience, sorry if this one is rather short. I'm hoping we see more Tsuruno/Shishido development in the future so I can make more detailed heacanons but in the meantime have this! Some NSFW below btw.

Tsuruno is a pretty straight and narrow guy. Works hard, more eloquent than people give him credit for, and not a bad dresser either. Actually one of the few characters with decent work-life balance, although it took him years of practice.

Years of work have also taught him to mask emotions well and he's got a pretty damn good poker face so you can't tell if he's into you based on facial signs alone. He's generally a supportive person and actually emotionally well intended so he's more likely to show his interest by being more attentive to you as a person rather than react physically.

One of the few of the boys who would just outright confess to you, and likely a well thought out confession at that. Although the years haven't given him the chance to date much, the concept of a relationship is something he's always considered to be rather serious. Tsuruno was never a one night stand kind of man.

Very classy with his dates, definitely knows how to impress. First date is definitely a nice dinner date, complete with a bouquet of flowers. This isn't to say Tsuruno is all fancy and no fun though. He can let loose, it just won't show until the third or fourth date.

Once he settles into a relationship, he's more of a "meet up at a hole-in-the-wall bar that barely anyone knows about but that actually serves really high quality drinks" type of man. A good drink is honestly his biggest vice.

Is very upfront and direct about his line of work before you ever start dating him. It's not just the potential dangers as a whole, he just works long hours and can't guarantee a completely normal relationship that one might expect. Tsuruno is pretty self aware and wouldn't just assume someone would be be okay with these kinds of things.

Tsuruno has an average sex drive but pretty good endurance once he gets going. Tends to top but he's not opposed to bottoming. Mostly a vanilla guy, which is somehow usually a shock to his partners? He's not sure what kind of expectations they had of him, if he's being honest.

I have numerous reasons for this decision that none of y'all are gonna particularly care for, but ya know, just so we got our expectations in order: I'm not gonna participate in DD this year (maybe never again), I'm probably not gonna reblog many posts related to it (doing so would be counterintuitive), but I am holding myself to finishing Orice (at LEAST the base fic).

Now, why?

TL;DR: Mental health crisis brought on by internet harassment and overprioritizing social media. It's not fun anymore, folks.

DD just... it completely ruined the novel for me.

It was a nice phenomenon, but it took a wrecking ball to my mental health and self-worth. Now, I'm not saying DD's creator personally did something to spite me (or maybe I am, he knows what he did /j), but this whole thing? It wasn't good for me. It was never good. It was sometimes fun, but most of the time it made me want to end it because of thumblr notes.

That's fucking stupid. My life is not worth internet validation. My art is not worthless just because my numbers are not as big as the biggest big shots in the fandom. I'm not a horrible person when other people handle personal disagreements regarding headcanon with defaming rumours and impersonation. But hell! My view of reality was horribly skewed.

A while back, I unfollowed all the gothlit tags I previously followed because 1) Some people (active and popular members of the fandom, mind you, not bots or trolls) were posting honest-to-god name-dropping harassment in the tag because "it's a popular tag so more people will see my callout post" and 2) I reached a point where seeing anything related to the novel on my dash just set me off. It didn't even need to be drama-related anymore. Mentions of the characters, mentions of popular AUs, just the very content of this book became triggering to me, and I really didn't miss the content when it was gone, as sad as that is.

And the kicker? I've come to realize that I probably dislike more things about the novel than I actually like about it. Not only is it tied to some of my darkest moments in recent memory, but it's also just... a book with many flaws that I could go on and on and on about. Sometimes, it straight-up made me furious, like seething mad, and I think I'd rather just be happy. But even when I would try to channel that energy into being happy, I always felt I had to over-clarify or else I’d get bombarded with anonymous messages. If you’ve seen any of my posts from during that time… chances are there is a passive aggressive “btw people can have opposing opinions from you about an old book and it doesn’t give you leave to stone them” or several tags of “#this is a joke #a jooooooke #for the love of god #if y’all don’t stop”. I bet it was as annoying for y’all as it was for me.

P.S. Mutuals/friends, do not worry. Y'all keep doing y'all. I can and will block tags if seeing your posts triggers me. So, I suppose my only request is to properly tag, but I've been saying that from the very start.

I took a break for Lent. I needed it terribly. And... not gonna lie? I almost didn't want to return. I never got an itching to just log on and "check in". I very successfully avoided tumb altogether. I came back because "I gotta come back eventually" and also like, this is my main hub where I update when I've written a fic, and ya know... I'm not gonna let toxic fandom bs rule my shit.

During my break, I got back into gaming. More specifically, I started playing Hades again. And listening to Epic the Musical. Aaaand boyyy did that bring me back to my Greek mythology phase. I have a Greek mythos/Hades sideblog btw: @areopagusimp. It's cringe, if you can't tell by the blog name.

Back when I was into Hades game and general Greek mythos, my expectations were so much smaller, but yet, my goals and will to create seemed so much bigger. I made art that no one gave a single solitary shit about (except for my friend), but I was happy. Maybe I'm wearing rose-tinted glasses, but... even if I wasn't as happy then as I remember being... haha at least I wasn't receiving threats and insults in my inbox back then :))). That was the most fun thing about the gothlit fandom. I hope every single chickenhearted angry anon is proud of their behaviour.

But yeah, whatever I end up doing, I’m striving to not let it run me into the ground.

But... What do I do now?

I have so many WIPs (art and writing) for the novel, and it's very disappointing that I didn't get to finish them before it all turned sour. Hopefully, I can still finish them, it just won't be with the same distress I worked with before. Hopefully, I can post that stuff and fully manage my expectations, not crash and burn when only a few people like it. Because hell! A few people liking my stuff? That's amazing, really. I shouldn't take that for granted. At the same time, I'm setting a boundary for myself. Placing my self-worth into the hands of people who I don't know, who don't know me, and who aren't even paying for the art? I need to stop that. Who the hell is that gonna serve? Absolutely no one.

My number one goal is to finish Orice. It is somehow untouched by my aversion to the novel; it is my safe space. I want to honour it and honour the longtime readers who have stuck with me. It's gonna be hard, but it's gonna be worth it for me.

This feels attention-seeking, and it kinda is. I'm not tagging the main subject and I'm not allowing reblogs because I want this to stay isolated (and hopefully prevent backlash/misunderstandings), but ya know, no matter how much I try to keep this small, I'm still posting it online. But I just feel like I needed to get this off my chest. I didn't even knew that this was still going. I figured some people had, though begrudgingly, accepted to use a tag, and some others would flood the Megatron tag with their occ content without a tag to filter out of spite (exactly with the mindset that you described), because people speaking ill of me doesn't even come to tell me directly, perhaps because they know I genuinely won't be affected by their hate and misplaced adjectives, and so I only know of this when someone else tells me.

On the other hand, while I do not crave for understanding, it's very nice that the people who agree with me voice it, because this request and pointing out is not only for me, but also for everyone else who is tired of the OCC thing flooding the content about a character.

Indeed, you are not the only one who has said this to me, and even before I made that request I had held conversations about how people was tired of it, but also feared voicing it because they, like yourself, were wary about getting the "queerfobic" hate. Which is no more than a shield that people abuse of whenever someone disagrees with their headcanons or anything else. tng night the second: naked now and code of honor. verdict: oh man.

really excited initially about a sequel to naked time, easily among the best ever tos episodes. but this is too early! even in tos we'd gotten a short time to know them as they are normally before they did All Of That

also this episode was. uh. not great. for starters, the inhibitions being lowered in meant different things to everyone...except the women. ALL THREE major female characters instantly turned into boy crazy sex fiends, which is particularly tragic for tasha bc she has major lesbian swag.

wesley continued to be annoying in this episode. i want to like him because he seems like a nice and eager kid (even if it is still fucking bonkers to me that kids are allowed on a starship), but the problem is he'll do some stupid bullshit that kids are wont to do and instead of like mothering him at all crusher IMMEDIATELY begins making excuses for him and getting defensive if anybody says anything to him. so also i realized i do kind of like crusher, especially when she gives picard shit, except every time she starts to grow on me she just lets wesley do whatever he wants and the i'm like :| again

perhaps the most interesting character in naked now was geordi, who got absolutely no resolution to the interesting setup they gave him, which is pretending he's satisfied with the way things are re: his vision and the prosthetic he uses, and then revealing that perhaps he's actually secretly not. that was neat. every time he's onscreen i'm like "i'd like to know more about that guy" and every time they're like "no <3"

code of honor was somehow even WORSE. apart from like. the obvious sexism and racism. we also had tasha yar once again being like "oooh i would love this big savage black man to ravish me that did make me feel so sexy" which. what the FUCK

AND ALSO a scene with crusher that annoyed me, because she went from "oh why can't i as a doctor show professionalism" (she's a woman) and then also in the middle of the crisis "can i bother you to let my son on the bridge even though he's a child i speak As A Mother (woman)" like girl...ik you love your son but he doesn't need free roam of a fucking starship. he is a baby. he needs to be in class. this was crusher's only scene in the entire episode btw she quite literally had 8 lines and they were all about how much of a woman she was.

i just feel like if we are going to do this to women we should go back to not having them. like shadowhunters. if you can't treat those ladies properly you have to put them back on the shelf until you're a grown-up.

I’ve seen your akechi and naoto team up art pieces (which are incredible btw) and I wanted to know if you have some headcanons on their dynamic and maybe some elaboration on what the story could be

SO! regarding their dynamic, it's very much informed by my interpretation of p4-to-p5 being an actual timeline that puts naoto well into their twenties when goro is 18 (as opposed to like.. a persona q type of deal)

since i imagine all of this happening post-everything, i quite enjoy the idea that there is a period of time where goro is adrift and presumed dead and fate aligns so that the closest thing he has to a friend in that moment is an exhausted barely-willing mentor figure. it makes sense to me that they'd have previously interacted in passing while goro was in the public eye, but that was pure professional courtesy, and of course not at all representative of what goro is ACTUALLY like, so i do think naoto would consider him a bit of a curiosity before anything else, at first. that's very much the backdrop i'm picturing all this happening against

(fig. a- this doodle i posted on twitter like a year ago.) (side note i know the exact placement of p4 in the timeline was made weird by golden but i prefer a larger age difference for these themes so. sue me)

anyways i think their personalities have the potential to contrast quite nicely from this point. goro’s self-defensive abrasiveness doesn't do much to actually faze naoto, and naoto's straight-laced stoicness has the potential to subtly belie the exact type of support that this teen who violently recoils from perceived pity might need. goro is actively trying to stifle the part of him who genuinely held the Detective Prince in high esteem because he finds it childish and embarrassing. naoto does not consider themself the kind of person who is equipped to deal with someone so volatile and vulnerable in a mentorship capacity and wants to keep things impersonal. but here we are

so as for what scenario might get them in this mess.. i like the idea that following the events of p5, it makes sense that masayoshi shido was just the head of the beast, and that his sudden fall would naturally leave quite a few threads to be tied up- something that would catch the attention of naoto, who i imagine currently works as a private investigator free of the oversight that might otherwise hinder their ability to look into the matter (..that was the idea behind this comic from 2020, anyways) though that’s admittedly an excuse to a facilitate some fun drama before anything else. i have a few scenes rattling around in my brain to this day but no actual plot haha 

(i previously scripted 2 indulgent mini-comics for this premise, one where they meet with an adult kanji whose tailor business makes him naoto’s go-to disguise guy for fun contrived undercover scenes, and one where futaba had figured out what was up and contacted them about offering her services in exchange for retrieving wakaba’s research. obviously never did anything about it and probably never will, but they looked like this)

..it also contained an arc that will likely only ever live in my notes app wherein naoto liaisons with akira directly for pt-related info because goro is 1) EXTREMELY cagey about inserting himself back into akira’s life for reasons that i’m sure are obvious and 2) coming to realize that naoto’s presence in his life is actually very good for him and is a relationship he’s reluctantly coming to cherish........which makes him all the more terrified of the EXACT nature of his connection to shido inevitably being uncovered by them. like he’s sort-of-kind-of sabotaging an investigation that he has a personal stake in wanting to see succeed because he realizes naoto’s respect is something he doesn’t actually like the idea of losing. drama!

(of course, naoto obviously finds out he killed people, and akira obviously finds out he’s alive, but not for lack of trying. maybe i’m delusional but i do think naoto could move past that after the initial shock.)

i think that about covers it.. i consider this whole concept pretty much public domain, so to speak, btw. anyone is free to take whatever they want from it. and by this i mean my efforts are a shameless ploy to get other people interested in their potential dynamic. gotta spread the gospel

Yep the ideas about conception are very ..interesting and very different from what it is actually like/how it's seen nowadays. It might be a bit much to get into here but if you want I can explain it separately and also go more in depth on the four humor theory because I always think that one is fun and people back in the days definitely would use it to describe someone's personality. OH ALSO ACTUALLY jbdbbd it would play into the "trans woman batman" headcanon now that I think of it because according to the four humor theory Bruce definitely would be a melancholic and that was seen as a predominately feminine personality. Anyways though if you want I could go more in depth with that?

there is ABSOLUTELY going to be bruharvey i have like half a fight and 2/3s of a kiss written. it's a bruharvey fic i am a predictable beast :-) and i think bc of the circumstances they're in at the start, with bruce already batman and most definitely unaware of gender stuff, i think i might end up having chivalrous code stuff be like... kind of a fantasy bruce used to have before they drifted apart like he was soooo in love with harvey and he wanted to be courted officially (bruce voice oh hey what does that mean for my gender let's not think about that one aha!!) and then his feelings sort of mellowed and they're still there but it's just like a quiet part of him now as opposed to consuming his every waking thought? which, hilariously, is what harvey is gonna be experiencing with batman in a little while which is gonna be SOOO fun for me because he DOES have weird fantasies about like 'the dark knight' courting him and be sort of uncomfortable with where that positions him and like. you know the song howl by florence + the machine? there's a bit that goes 'the fabric of your flesh, pure as a wedding dress' and harvey is gonna mourn his cissona a little bit in that weird way he does

Joui4 + Hijikata Cuddling Headcanons: 

Sakata Gintoki:

Mr. Gintoki is all tuff and like: I’m not a small spoon, I’m a big spoon. Yeah, right. When he tells you that, just smile and nod. Smile and nod. 

Anyway, you got your arms wrapped around him, face pressed against his curly hair, which tbh feels like hugging a sheep. 

He’s “complaining”, but you notice how there’s no bite in his voice at all, how he shifts even closer to you, and how his body relaxes against the curves of yours. 

Place your feet on his calves. They serve as heaters. Actually, his whole body is like a furnace. Perhaps comfortable for about 5 minutes, but you gonna start sweating after that. 

And because he’s a 14 year old stuck in a man’s body, he might say something wholly inappropriate for the cuddle session, but the best part about being a big spoon is that you can smack him on the head for that. 

Katsura Kotarou: 

Katsura is on the bed/couch before you can even say “cuddle” , his coziest pair of fuzzy socks on and warmest blanket ready.

You’ve opened his eyes to the wonderful world of simply laying down with your partner and holding them. He will now be collecting three times a week, minimum, thank you very much.

 It’s hilarious, really, his face is carefully calm but his eyes are childishly gleaming with excitement. 

He likes to play with your hair (and you better do it back because his hair is canonically very soft??) and the motions of his warm fingers running through your scalp are so nice that they have the power to make you doze off.

Big spoon. Small spoon. It doesn’t matter. Katsura is just fine chilling and holding his girl. 

Do not be alarmed of the presence of the third person in the cuddle session. That’s just Elizabeth. 

Sakamoto Tatsuma:

What a happy cuddler! 

Sakamoto prefers to hold you face-to-face and he holds on tight, sometimes so tight that you feel like you’re being strangled by a boa constrictor. When you tell him to loosen his grip, he laughs and tells you, ”Sorry, you’re as cute as a bird! I have to squeeze so you won’t fly away!” OK, that was cheesy, but it’s Sakamoto. 

Another thing about facing each other is that Sakamoto is prone to guffawing in about 3 seconds of eye contact. But the best thing about that is when he nuzzles into your neck to calm himself, and you can feel the vibrations of his giggles though your skin. 

Because he’s the human version of a puppy, Sakamoto can’t stop wiggling his legs against yours. 

But when duty calls, he’s very reluctant to leave the session; will hang on for dear life (squeezing you to near death). 

Shinsuke Takasugi:

Cuddling? A foreign concept to Takasugi. 

But he’ll give it a try on his downtime, which are a rare thing in itself.

Takasugi is amused as you usher his head on a pillow, making sure he’s comfortable before you lay down next to him, arms wrapping loosely around his body. And for a second, you’re afraid that he doesn’t like it because of how still he is but, surprisingly, Takasugi slings an arm over your waist as he leans in to tuck your head under his.

If you’re feeling brave enough, bring your hand up to stroke his hair. He will allow you to touch the strands, which feel pretty silky smooth for a man on the run. 

Though the session is brief, Takasugi really does enjoy the warm moment with you, expressing it by giving you one slight squeeze before he pulls away.  

Hijikata Toushirou:

“H-hell no!”

Amazingly, you watch the Demon Vice Commander of the Shinsengumi flush at your suggestion for a cuddle session, his eyes darting everywhere but your face. 

“Why not?” “Because I said so!”

Maybe Toushi hates the concept of cuddling, but he can’t stand it when you get all pouty on him, so he caves, his face still red as he opens his arms wide for you to nestle against his chest (an a m a z i n g chest btw, i dunno how he packs in all that mayo and still maintains a healthy bod)

Cue awkward arm placement and embarrassed noises. Hijikata can’t stop worrying about someone (preferably not Okita) walking in on him being all lovey-dovey with his girl. He’s got a strict reputation to protect after all. 

Eventually, Hijikata relaxes against you, almost wondering why he even bothered protesting the cuddle in the first place when you were so soft and warm. 

Subconsciously, the palms of his hands come up to pat your back, a gentle and steady rhythm that has the both of you holding on to each other tighter. 

After the cuddle session, Hijikata won’t be so opposed to future sessions, but please don’t tell anyone. Please.

Hi, you say that L is a Scorpio Sun, Pisces Moon and Aquarius Rising, have you thought of all of his placements and the astrology placements of the other death note characters? (I'm very interested in astrology and death note and your opinion on this)

Oh god, I could probably write you a book about this, haha. That’s three (DN, L, astrology) special interests at once! So thanks for the question.

(Again: it’s not meant to be taken 100% seriously and just something I do because my brain loves to obsess over certain topics, so please, anyone who reads this, don’t come to me with the “Validity of Astrology Discourse”)

We neither know the exact time of L’s birth, nor where he was born (and that’s true for every DN character, it’s just especially complicated with him because of his ethically mixed background). Which means that we will probably never know the placements of his Houses, but the rest of his radix is fortunately pretty much set. I looked it up for various potential birthplaces (relevant are: England (Europe is tiny, so it would only make a minimal difference if he was born in Italy or France), Russia (I tried a few places for Russia, for obvious reasons) and Japan) and at least none of his luminaries change signs, depending on where he was born, so that’s great.

I also tried many different times for the time of his birth and this is the one I probably like the best:

As I said, I headcanon his AC to be in Aquarius, but that’s not the only thing I like about this: it would put his Scorpio sun almost at the zenith and in the 8th house too. He’s quite the extreme Scorpio, in my opinion, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if his sun were in the “Scorpio House” on top of it. (I could also talk about his MC and IC in Sagittarius and Gemini, but then I would never stop talking, so I’ll shut up for now) (Or his Leo DC *cough*) (Or that Pisces - where also his moon is - is caged in this one)

I also consider this:

It’s pretty different, as you can see, and I think Virgo Rising is less likely than Aquarius rising, but what I like about this, is that most of the luminaries are under the horizon (which would fit his introverted and secretive nature) and also left (which would fit his self-centered nature). (And his DC in Pisces would be interesting too, considering his weird, complicated relationship with Light, who’s Pisces)

I looked at his horoscope with various other House placements too, but whatever.

looks very, very good. Pisces Moon in AC would probably surprise a few people, but think about his pale skin, round, bulging eyes and his wacky (”loony”) hair. Seriously, he’s quite the classic water type. It would also explain why he does everything he needs to do to feel comfortable (eating sweets, walking barefoot, limp posture, wearing only certain, comfortable clothes = classic Pisces stuff) in front of everyone (which is part of what the AC stands for), without caring about what people might think (= Aquarius Rising).

And where does his incredible stubbornness come from? Mainly from basically everything about his Sun, Leo Mars and Sagittarius MC. Honestly, the motto of a Leo Mars in DC could very well be: “

He who moves first always wins.

”

The only thing I don’t like about this, is that it would make the 7th House his most prominent House……. I have no idea what to make of that.

As for other DN characters: yes, I’ve thought about most of the main character’s placements too. And it’s really nice that we know all of their birthdays & the years there were born in and can also guess at least the country they were born in.
