Macaque still works from time to time to the Dojo in weekdays, and also likes his alone time, but has been spendind more time with Wukong to help the other monkeys and telling stories about what happened in all those years they missed when they were still enemies.

I like how Hazel seems to be making friends one at a time! I feel like most shows introduce friends as pre-established, or they become friends in the first episode. Hazel seems to be gathering them over time, which is great.

This is what reality is like when you jump the border to Retroville. Everything looks bulgy, but in reality... you're still flat. I especially like how reality morphs to fit the FOP style, like the pink hair flipping around. I think I've seen someone with their haircut like that in the old show, though I forget who, so that would imply they wear it like the first picture.

Unreasonably funny to me that Dev's glasses shine - usually a classy blue - becomes much duller when it switches to "actual FOP style." His coolness factor drops. I love it.

... His hair REALLY reminds me of his dad's. I distinctly remember Dale's being fluffy, which is why he looks like the pixie godkid listed in Da Rules, but... Dev's got the same "front flare." I'm gonna look it up.

-> Oh, "Nectar of the Odds" is Season 2, not 3. I did not remember that. Also, Dale's hair is a little more orange than I remember, and he really does have dark blue eyes. I can absolutely see the similarities between him and Dev. That's fantastic.

Hii again! I'm the anon who rambled about Andras and sorry! I just saw how long my ask came out and I would like to blame the fact that I was sleep-deprived, but that would be a half-truth, because I tend to yap when I'm really passionate about something ahahaha and YES! I completaly agree! Feyre literally never mention him again, like he was never important (as if his life wasn't, even though it changed hers completaly) and she never think of him, how SJM never makes him appear even as a thought of one (the first dare I say) of the lives that Feyre took. And yes it's a nice hc (a very angsty one for sure) to think how things could've gone with Feyre and Tamlin, but like you said thats not how canon went and it's really something I will always be bitter about, because how it did Tamlin (and Lucien! And their relationship!) dirty and as I said: I will never forget nor forgive, I'm sorry.

Sometimes it seems as SJM has a plot twist ready or is building up to reveal how everything was a plan of Rhysand or something more sinister, but I really don't expect anything from her, like the bar is not only low, but it's nonexistent basically. Yes! To all of this! I love it!

When I finished Silver Flames J was convinced Sarah had to be doing something with Tamlin and the SC because there was too much a trail for healing/redemption for her not to utilise it. But when I go back and read passages, it more or less just looks like SJM did a shit job of writing an actual abusive relationship rather than laying out a path for Tamlin to be redeemed. It seems to me she sees nothing wrong at all with Rhysand or the IC, and any form of redemption has to end with the villainised person grovelling for forgiveness which honestly sickens me.

Tamlin and as you said Lucien and their relationship and Andras were all done so so dirty. I personally headcanon that Spring has a statue of Andras and the gardens of spring are all flowers that were planted in honour of the sentries that died for their lands. (Which is also a sorta angsty headcanon as when Spring is left for dead and its just Tamlin, the statue and the flowers he’s a “high lord of a graveyard” but thats a plot point for my fic as well)

Andras deserved to be honoured rightfully and he never was. SJM’s writing pisses me off so much.

Okay but isn’t it like Warrior Nun or something that was canceled by netflix but then due to fan support was eventually brought back or renewed somehow?

I'm not sure, but there have been a lot of "uncancellations," because whether a show is popular has literally nothing to do with whether a streamer, especially Netflix, renews it. SAB was top of the most-watched list for months, had a vocal and dedicated fanbase calling for its renewal, and it was clear that people were interested both in it and in the potential Six of Crows spinoff. But Netflix gonna Netflix, and I don't for one moment believe that "the impact of the strike" had anything to do with it. That reeks of studio propaganda, frankly, to blame the writers/actors for going on strike at all and being the Big Meanies who are the reason (not Netflix's well-established pattern of doing exactly this) they won't get any more of their favorite show. After all, they're only giving up a TINY extra portion of their revenues, there's no actual budgetary reason they couldn't do it, and if it was just because it was popular (which has never saved non-Witcher Netflix shows in the past), they could have renewed it. Instead, this plays very much as a petty "fine, you forced us to do the deal with the writers/actors, but we can still axe boatloads of your favorite shows all at once to punish you, neener neener" power move.

As I said in my tags last night: they didn't HAVE to wait until after the strike to cancel it (and a few others). I realize that shouting at Netflix for dickish cancellation practices is like shouting at the sky for being blue or Republicans for being idiots, but still. SAB was always long odds to get a season 3 just because three seasons means Netflix has to start -- gasp! -- paying people for residuals and streaming, or at least that was the case under the old contract. So it had reached the dreaded Two Season Chopping Block, but if Netflix wanted to cancel it, as they were clearly planning to do, they could have just, you know. Done that. Instead, waiting this long and explicitly blaming "the impact of the strike" sounds, to me, like a great big bucket of passive-aggressive bullshit, and we know they're petty enough to do these kinds of things. So yeah.

Anyway, this means I am in fact going to do the Lost in Wonderland sequel fic sooner or later (Empire of Bones still has first dibs on my muse, I know people are waiting for an Unknown and Static Strange update as well, etc etc). It won't be a full retelling/treatment of s3, but the fact that I can now use other characters in addition to Fivan means that there will be a somewhat broader focus with more plot threads, and it will incorporate elements of what I would have liked to see in SAB s3. I.e. Mad Queen Alina, Crows Ice Court Rescuing Fivan Shenanigans, Mei Looking For Her Dads, Very Polite Shadow Monster David, and other fun things. So hey. Silver-ish lining, or something. Still, fuck you Netflix. Fuck you very much.

Ink's 2024 Fic

We all survived another year, and with another year comes a new wrap-up to become my pinned post! Exact word count is tricky this year because of how AO3 counts published works you just go back and edit, but to the best of my reckoning in 2024 I wrote 96,424 words.That's an 86.417% decrease from last year, shocker.

2024 has been turbulent. We went from "I can't believe Mom has to have a root canal 5 days after major surgery" to "I'm so glad the root canal happened exactly when it did" in a matter of weeks. That was in March. The ENTIRE year has been like that. All this to say, if at any point in 2024 I didn't respond to you, stopped responding, or completely forgot something else important, it was probably because something was on fire. Nothing personal, just chaos.

That's also why I don't have a whole lot of commentary about a lot of what I wrote, compared to past years. This year, it was all TMA, and spread across 9 distinct works.

The Vampire Saga Route 2- 43k, 8 works, Jon/Martin, Tim&Danny, Jon/Elias; Sasha tried very hard to resolve this version with the power of friendship 😔

The Archivist and the Adventurer- 45k, 10 works, Jon/Martin; My fae au got an eensy update this year! More importantly, the update introduced Gerry! If you're new, this au is technically complete- right now I'm adding oneshot chapters that take place in the main plot's happily ever after. With Gerry! More Gerry in 2025, hopefully! I want this thing out of my drafts!

Little Archive- 93k, WIP, Jon&Gerry, Jon&Beholding; Egregiously neglected this year, tbh. I swear, in 2025 I'm getting the next Plot Development out into the world. You guys will like this one, promise. For real promise, it's delightful.

Most Ardently by Gabe Cole Novoa {4 stars} - A queer YA Pride and Prejudice retelling - I enjoyed it a lot and thought the author did a great job reinterpreting the familiar story beats.

House of Stars, ep 1-3 - I don't remember why I had this on my watchlist for the year, but I powered through the first three episodes and now I'm kinda hooked. Toey is the standout and I hope he gets his own little plot. I will never get tired of his reactions to Pitch's nonsense.

Lovely Runner, ep 1-4 - I am loving it so much, wow. The time travel mechanic is different than any I've seen before, so that is keeping me guessing. I'm curious to see how it evolves over the rest of the series now that the (seemingly) big reveal about how it works has happened. I didn't know that Kim Hye Yoon was the female lead or I would have started it sooner. I adored her in Extraordinary You and she's still a delight.

Wandee Goodday, ep 7 - Another great episode this week. The fake breakup for their fake relationship actually hurt quite a bit to watch. Yak taking his necklace back was physically painful. I loved it though. The less said about Ter, the better. ugh, Ter. But, I finally remembered to look up the theme song and discovered that Great sings it?! He sounds so good, I love it.

Hello! Anon from before! Comment you say comment you get! I was positively swiped out from the ground with the whole fic, but this chapter? *Chefs kiss* The plot twist with Moon knowing language better than we thought is a really nice touch, I plan on rereading the fic with this new perspective in mind! I didn't really thought about the fact that Sun could use English much better. I just thought their skills are different there but nope. Moon is just a little drama queen. I love that you included "healthy relationship" beetwen Moon and Y/n, when they found out he can talk they were slightly irritated by it and expressed that but almost imidiatly (now they are sure he will understand complicated sentences) explains the situation and what they are feeling. Because ladies and gentlemen communication is the key 👏 👏 👏 Moon expressing himself with his thoughts about reader seeing him as a dumb animal or trying to tame him is also a nice touch that isn't really used in other fics I've read, If some alien thing appeared near my house and started trying to teach me to speak or to do some tricks I would be also offended. The no bullshit attitude is mu h needed fuck the little misunderstandings let's talk openly like a good couple fishman.

I also love the fact that even that y/n now can communicate with Moon and wants to get to know him they are still pretty cautious. As they explained its not easy to overcome first impressions especially when there have been their lives on the plate(in their eyes). I would love to see them warming up to each other! Which is already happening and I think it's so so cute they are both trying really hard to make it work.

The romance is just pure gold. I was squeaking with the whole bracelet thing. My man Moon got send to his namesake I'm sure he was seeing his kids with y/n get away to fish college at this moment keke. It's very cute that y/n regifted something as precious as shell to him. I am assuming the shell that he made himself and spend lots of time on is some courting proposal. So him getting something crafted with equal effort by his Brat will give him ideas. Good. We want more. I think you are great at creating tension and writing some really cute fluffy moments, as well as the more intimate ones. I love how you write y/n her personality, and reasoning. You created a great character that despite some strong character its still pretty easy to put yourself in their shoes.

The fact that Moon noticed marks after webbing on y/n hands is also interesting. I wonder what he thinks right now and what will he do with that information. Also I am hoping he didn't misunderstood that Sun was the one to rip them out. Coz when he asked of the reason they are gone we just started blabbering about the yellow mermaid and that they didn't really mean it .

I'm very curious about Sun and Moon relationship, for sure it's not bad as Moon said himself ,, he is mine,, ,,my Sun". It's intriguing what they are to each other. I feel bad for the guy he a little lonely boy with too much energy that gets into your personal bubble but he means well. I hope we will get to meet him officaly soon and that Moon after learning about our meeting will put some information about his human friend into his Sun so he will know better than to almost drown them hahah.

I really enjoyed the way you pictured Glamrocks and I was shocked when you said you are not very skilled in writing them. The dialogues for each of them works really well and you kept their personalities just perfect in my eyes. I was mesmerised how smoothly I went through this chapter and how many emotions it got from me. The dynamic in the team is great and they just appeared and with small nudges and small talks from you we can already tell or at least predict so much about them.

Of course we can't forget about Vanessa, she would never let us forget. But what amazes me is how you were able to create such a mixed feelings towards this character in me. I am a first person to throw someone into the jerk category fast but with her I keep changing my mind. She is very well written, annoying but you can sometimes see a little bit of the other side. There is clearly something wrong with her, with her hallucinations and paranoia. Also the fear of mer might play the role here with the big bad trap boi. As much as I want to showe her head into a grinder every second she appears I also get amused, such an interesting character. And this is all thanks to you those types are very hard to write. It only shows how big of a talent you posses.

I very much enjoy the relationship beetwen y/n and Bon Bon. Little siblings that bicker with each other all the time but when one of them shows up with dead man in the middle of the night they will help them dug the grave hahaha The personality you gave him is astonishing and enduring. I didn't read a lot about Bon Bon but know your version of him is my headcanon and lives rent free in my head haha. The little soft moments with reader that ends up in jesting are really heart-warming.

I am also very curious about Monty. Can he communicate with mers? I have a feeling some yellow fella got pretty excited that there is some possible friend nearby. Ahh I love Sun so much I want to cuddle him. All he wants is snuggles but all he gets is struggles.

The length of the chapter is a blessing I needed some good stuff to relax into and let my mind flow which you were able to provide so thank you. I mean it with my heart when I say you are very talented. This fic is well organised, with a good balance of all aspects that keeps you entertained. From the beginning I didn't skip any paragraph (which I admit is my sinful behaviour where something in the fic bores me ) and even rereaded to whole thing in the matter of days. I couldn't keep myself away trying to find something I might have missed amd relived the events once again. I love your version of the boys, the Moon being the first to open up and fall for reader is a nice change (where in most fics he is the one more cautious). I fell in love with him and his behaviour a big teasing, lovesick softy. It must have shocked him when reader's antena went missing haha.

Your addictions at the end of the chapters are so cute and bring me so much joy. I love your little ,,memes" and that sometimes it gives us the glimpse of others perspective. I can't recall which but some of your jokes from previous chapters got me laughing so hard. And stayed in my head that at the random moment hours later I would start chuckling. So thank you for that. Thank you for creating this fic and keeping working on it. I can say it's one of my favourites and we are only on the 10 chapter! This chapter was a blast that i will have to reread soon. aa4-1 turnabout trump

alright i finished the first case of aa4 last night!

despite my efforts i think i'm more spoiled for aa4 than i realized, or at least most of the hanging mysteries from the first case are ones i think i already know the answer to. kind of a shame but i don't think there was any way to avoid it. oh well, this case was fun anyway. i think 3-1 is my fave tutorial case still but this one was great even if i embarrassed myself by hitting the wrong button. also after banging my head against the wall through aai for five months it was nice to play a case where i could just use my brain and solve it because all the logic made sense and clues progressed naturally lmfao. i know first case are usually the easiest, but still.

apollo seems fun enough but the real draw of this case for me was FINALLY getting to meet beanix, whose characterization i know to be somewhat controversial lol. i've enjoyed him so far although fandom primed me to expect a weird secretive asshole -- will see if that changes as the game goes on. i missed phoenix a lot playing AAI so i am clinging to his ankles. was very exciting when his musical cue started in court. get his ass nick

the forgery ace stuff is... hm. i'm reserving judgment until i finish the game. also, lmao not to reference AAI for the thousandth time, but the conclusion of its grand finale was "illegal evidence is good sometimes" so i guess we already crossed this moral event horizon.

i've also been eager to meet trucy, who didn't do much in this case but have a bug-eyed stare. one thing i'm glad to be spoiled for actually is trucy and her approximate providence because the game trying to tease that as a mystery would've bugged me so much LOL and it's very funny to play when everyone is like "you have a DAUGHTER?!" and phoenix is just like :) yeah and as the player i am probably meant to be asking all kinds of questions about what happened there when i know the truth is just

i think the biggest hurdle this game is going to have with me personally is the level of suspending disbelief i have to do that maya and edgeworth are just totally uninvolved and unhelpful while phoenix is embroiled in whatever kind of conspiracy plot is going on. on a real-world level this is almost certainly the result of the franchise wanting to pivot to new characters, so there's not much explanation beyond that. but it's a bit hard to rationalize in-universe, especially because i also know the franchise immediately goes "lol lmao nvm" in 5&6 anyway. phoenix said something in this case about needing a lawyer he could trust, in reference to apollo, and i was like yeah if only we... knew one of those....

but whatever i guess. the true gift aa4 will give me is finally being able to read all the 7yg fics i have marked for later on ao3. onwards to 4-2!

Your turn Sunday: Queen Who Wasn't because it's a completely different weirdass genre but still set in the same universe as S1. I want more of it because the one-shot feels like it's set-up for a longer fic. It has a strong primal energy soulmate vibe and I think if more people discovered it, maybe the author would continue? That's why I'm suggesting this fic, for its potential for literally ground quaking smut and fantasy is rare for Caryl fic. Maybe for a reason, but give this fic a chance? It surprised me how much I liked it.

Dear fellow caryler, reviewing a crossover can be very difficult when you have no prior knowledge of the other universe's lore, but this fic's first chapter does an incredible job on providing all info needed to understand whats going on while building the plot, getting all characters traits on point and setting the foundations for Carol and Daryl's relationship. Great, great writing! Ten out of ten indeed! Also, our dear author here created a cheat sheet that helps immensely if you get confused at any time. Oh, anon, I do agree with you, it's potential for ground quaking smut is off the charts! I do hope our author feels inspired to write a little more after this rec because these versions of Daryl and Carol are already so devoted to each other, I can't even imagine how far they'll go to protect one another. Also, I'm very curious to know who will be the Black Widow to train Carol. I'm betting on Michonne. 🤞

Calamity Horizon for the ask game? O.o I'm so curious <3

Oh oh! So, I couldn’t find a second snippet from my fic that didn’t give too much away—but I can answer with a tiny bit of lore/worldbuilding that I’ve been working on! :D

Part of Calamity Horizon involves a plot that takes place in a city founded by Duros settlers at the very edge of Republic Space. It was created as a mining colony centuries past, and powerful economic interests hold the most sway there still. But I hadn’t yet fleshed out my thoughts on colonial Duros culture and how it differs or relates to what I was writing both on Duro itself and its satellite cities. After all, the Duros expanded out from their home sector a great many years ago, and I assumed that disparate colonies probably had their own ways of thought that had risen in the years since.

Probably my favorite facets of this worldbuilding have to do with spirituality and how they view history. For the homeworld Duros that yet remained before the attack in Homeworld Elegy, they clung to a lot of old ways most of the outside Duros had long abandoned, such as the tradition of the river rowers and their funeral rites. There was an idea of glory days existing back in the monarchy (long since replaced,) when the homeworld was of great importance to the galaxy, the Duros a guiding light of technology and political power, and even the most washed out contemporary villages often housing great religious centers, political networks, and vast ship yards. One might have still found images of the important monarchs treated with respect around the towns, and many residents clinging to their ancestral land would have claimed a bloodline from the old royal courts (some truly, and some not.)

Indeed, Duro was also one of the last holdouts in my story of a really old form of a once-common star-based Duros faith. There are still cultural and linguistic underpinnings of this sprinkled throughout Gunslinger's Paean—for example, a tradition to say one was born under certain constellations, lending astrological significance to one’s life (for example, when Bane thinks about how the Explorer’s stars were his, or when we see the economic blessings in the signs of The Miner on the governor’s seal.) Or, another example: some Duros utter “by the stars” as a soft expression of disbelief.

For most Duros in general, these things are just part of the common language and culture, and don’t really make them modern-day adherents of such a faith. Bane in particular, I do not write as having much truck with the old religion, whether he was from the homeworld or not. In fact, some satellite-city Duros don't understand the earnest belief in such things, finding a dogged insistence on near-dead modes of thought to be one of the things that makes homeworld Duros a bit difficult.

But, this doesn’t mean those ancient thoughts didn’t give rise to other things elsewhere in the diaspora. In the colonial city I’m writing, one doesn’t find any torches burning for the old monarchs, but one can find a little star temple in the downtown's heart. Homeworld Duros might find its architecture entirely different, its rituals bereft of certain steps, and its believers emphasizing different things in the practice, however. It’s become more of a personal faith, no longer meant to rally the people in a communal push towards greatness, and often isn’t taken literally. Still, it provides guidance and comfort for some, and in the wake of Duro’s downfall, for refugees, it is sanctuary still.

Unfortunately, just like on depleted and polluted Duro, the colonial leaders that grew incredibly wealthy and powerful on the riches of the land never really learned the lesson of moderation in regards to their new home’s resources. Slowly, their mines start to run dry, and they need to turn to… other means to keep their power base stable.

And in such places, there’s always someone willing to pay to get certain unsavory jobs done.

Hence some good plot seeds for both Calamity Horizon were born, AND a little short story in Summer's End about Bane doing a job there in the early stages of his galactic career. It’s actually one of my fave pieces in that collection, and introduces some lore and characters that really drives Calamity Horizon forward later. :D Cured a bit of writer’s block I had during this development something fierce! And there’s other little stories there too that reference some of these ideas.

Aughghgh and this doesn’t even get into the songs, the dances, etc. I’ve got. I’ve got so much. Too much 😂 I hope this tiny peek under the hood is fun though!! I’m tinkering with the stories today as well to keep them moving forward to the finish line. :D

This is my first little post on here so, take it easy on me. please.

A couple months ago I was watching Mona Lisa Smile (I'm an educator and got bit by the School Film Bug and this is one of my favorites) when I suddenly thought, "Gosh, I wish someone would have added in a little gay sub plot."

And it hit me. Maybe someone did!

I cannot be the only person on this earth that looked at Betty and Giselle and went, "yea, that would make a KILLER enemies to lover story!"

And, dear reader, I was not alone!

I logged onto AO3 and BAM! There it was... well there were only 6 but there they were! Real, written and (as far as I am aware) completed works on my favorite little pairing in my favorite little teacher film.

And I read them all in one sitting. I have no self restraint.

And I told my partner, "You know what, I will make a tumblr and I will review these 6 fics as my first real post!" That was months ago and today felt like a good day to make that happen!

Disclaimer to all: I am not someone who considers themself a "great writer/reviewer" but I will say that I enjoy consuming media, especially movies. And I enjoy thinking about how to make things gayer SOOooo, here we are!

I do not want to rank these as I review. I did at first but in doing so I felt like I was doing these all a disservice? It would feel like I was pitting them against one another and these is so little wlw things in media that to rate fanfic against one another feels... bad? haha so here we go.

#1 - Future Homemakers of America (100 Words)

This fic is 100 words and it BROKE me yall... I was devastated by the last little paragraph. I mean even the summary kills me. I did think a lot about the movie, The Hours, when reading this for some reason... (I know the reason, I'm just going to get sad and will not elaborate ha!) Overall, great for 100 words!

#2 - Not All Who Wander Are Aimless (3,478 Words)

This is 7 chapters of Betty coming to terms with who she is and it is done... SO artfully! I love reading about her being imperfect and trying to change despite how her mother raised her. Powerful and beautiful! This one has spicy scenes, nothing too smutty if I remember correctly! The comp het is also so real ah. The way it is written/formatted, is also very well done. It feels more like you're reading a poem than a fic and I really enjoyed that. The voice in it draws you in, ah!

#3 - The Spark of Enduring Flame (2,584 Words)

Oh this one is a little steamy, haha. I enjoyed this one more for the setting and pace of it all! Having them get cold during a snow storm is a classic little rom-com moment and I was all here for it! The smut is small but it is there and it is gentle. Also, the opening line and then the candles being done after their night, p o e t r y.

#4 - Repentance (1,065 words)

A very different twist here. Betty taking on Spencer in court is just what I needed after those credits rolled! No relationship for Betty and Giselle BUT we do have Giselle getting a partner and still being a steady friend for Betty, and that's still solid! The mention of Amanda Armstrong (first but not last in our list of fics) was exciting and then got real sad. Having Betty go to apologize at her grave for what she did to her feels like a good step for Betty.

#5 - The Girls in No. 8 (3,377 Words)

OKAY, this one charmed me so much haha. The author has a series where they are telling stories in this apartment building and (if I remember correctly) have some OCs they add in. In this one, Betty and Giselle move in across this apartment of Nurses and they all think the two girls are dating. Anyways, Amanda Armstrong shows up at one point and it just ties everything together in a way I never expected?! I was so charmed and pleasantly surprised by the setting and the back and forth between the apartments. A genuinely fun read! (Also, the author has another smaller fic about Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada, being the lady that hires Angel, from RENT, to play until the dog jumps and that was silly and a crossover I didn't expect but made sense aha!)

#6 - Calico Girl (5,401 Words)

This one threw me a bit, I wont lie, but it led to a whole new ship for me haha. The premise is really interesting and follows Giselle getting a crush on an OC the author made. Now, this I will admit is my own bias, but if I was putting an OC into a fic, I would have her fall in love with the character I had picked from the show. I was a bit thrown when all the build up between Giselle and the OC ended sour. The build up of community and realization is still really good and worth the read because then we get Giselle and Connie?! And, honestly, I'm upset I didn't consider it until I read this one... cuz now, like what if I find more fics under that pair?! ah, it is still gorgeously written and broken up into small sections that keep drawing you in. So worth the read. Also, the kiss Connie gets is the best ha!

AND THAT DOES IT, I think...

I really just wanted to share some thoughts. And I did, so I'm done? I might do this again if I find another pair with less then 10 fics to their name haha.

Please give the movie a watch if you haven't seen it! It really is one of my favorite teacher movies. I watch it at least once a year and can't get enough of it. The soundtrack is also so good! Tori Amos is on it, iconic.

Pretty much anything @inexplicifics has written (I started hearing about the Accidental Warlord Series (E, Geralt/Jaskier, Geralt/Eskel, Geralt/Jaskier/Eskel and assorted minor ships. In which a terrified bard stops being terrified and helps reshape the world with his music and his heart.) when I started going through the Witcher tag and somehow it was even BETTER than I assumed) but in particular I am crazy about their Lambert/Aiden. Your Kind of Heaven (M, in which Lambert is smarter than Orpheus), Three Bells each with a Separate Sound (E, in which timefuckery makes for the best fuckert)and Out of the Night That Covers Me (M, in which a single good deed does multiple people a shit ton of good)are all fics I've read multiple times already.

@jackironsides is also a go to favorite writer, with Kaer Morhen Book Club (T in which fanfic changes people's perspectives, and the Kaer Morons love romance novels.)being a unclosed tab on my phone in case I need a pick me up. But honestly, any of their works are worth a read. I went through their entire library with no regrets.

@spielzeugkaiser does this amazing art to tell stories with; while it can take me most of a fic to tear up, they can do it in a handful of sketches so there's that. But there's plenty more that's cute and sweet. Love their Shifter!Jaskier and bearwitcher!Jaskier

Cabinet of Curiosities (E) by aleatory_fox, round_robin was one of the first fics I read in the fandom and it stuck with me a great deal. (in Which Witchers are Objectified(like, pets.), and Jaskier's plots run deep.)

Since I don't have an AO3 account I'd like to get my thoughts out here. First of all I've loved this fanfic since the beginning, it takes some skill to fix the zillion plot holes this series has and you are doing so beautifully. Really love how you can make me laugh one chapter and cry the next, the characterization is on point and the ocs are all very lovable. It's great

This one specific chapter though. It was so emotional and sad despite starting out so sweet. Matches so well with the song (Yeah I took you rec of listening to the songs when reading the chapters and it hit so hard during the drowning scene) Can't say I've ever cried this hard before reading a fanfic but goddamn did I got through almost 20 tissues!

It's a small thing but I love how having loved ones and support isn't enough to heal Tamlin just yet, especially since the cause for most his pain it's still guilt and the Night Court's inner circle. Until that's dealt with he won't be 100% fine again. So many stories use love and/or sex to fix a person but I'm glad that here, Tamlin might be recovering but can still relapse when pushed like a real suicidal person would. Thankfully he has Lucien and his family with him no matter what. I was losing it along with them when they thought he'd died. 😭😭😭

All in all I loved both the sweet fluff and the angst and I'm certain I'll love the blood since we all know Azalea won't let the Night Court get away with this. Thank you so much for writing this awesome story, will be here until the end! 💗

Yeah one of the things that bothers me most about ACOTAR and romance other series it's that they like to gush about mental health and healing yet don't go through the nasty parts of it. The relapses, and slips one can have even with good support and love, along with the less than tolerable symptoms. Instead they just have the MC's get some dick and call that therapy. This ain't it chief. I do plan to have spicy scenes in the story and romantic love as well as that of family, friends and colleagues play a part for healing but it's not the one solution to our golden boy's issues. Baby needs therapy AND cuddles.

AAA OMG thank you so much for answering my question! ok ok ok so! first up for the fic desires, right out of the gate - I don't like smut (as a sex-repulsed asexual I find reading about it not fun). also I don't like reading whump that much unless it has a good ending. as for not wanted ships, anything is fine unless it's incest or pedophilia. characters/interactions are a bit harder to pin down, but I know I don't want any fics that involve self-inserts, y/n, or ocs as the main focus, I'd much rather be distanced from the story being told than directly involved in it, if that makes sense? I'd like to read something involving Idia or Ortho or any of the Hades dorm (idk its in-universe name) characters - there doesn't seem to be a lot involving them, at least not that I've found yet. stuff involving the octotrio would also be good, love me some angsty merboys. maybe some stuff with Riddle and the other Heartslybule (idk if that's how it's spelled) students too? if you have any fics involving transformation or body-swapping, those are tropes I really like (I'm reasonably sure that at least some of the Diasomnia students have dragon or half-dragon forms but so far I haven't found anything involving them actually transforming?) In addition, what fics involving the Diasomnia students do you think are the best? And You Think, "No Escape" (ongoing) GEN – i'm a few chapters behind on this one bc life kicked me, but very good gen fic thus far! mainly focused around the previous overblotters in a weird sidequest treasure hunt forced by some bad guys, with trey and cater in the BG tryna help their situation. VERY long chapters and updates very regularly, so would likely provide a good amount of content

Night Raven Kindergarten (ongoing) GEN – cater is the main char, but he and trey are kindergarten teachers for a selection of the cast as kids!! VERY cute and fun, and delves into the kids' lives at home in rly heartfelt ways that hit, the problems feel nuanced and well-written, and the chars all feel so themselves. whitenoface is the author and i like a lot of their work, i'm recing another work from them later on

Briar Scion (ongoing) Idiasil – p long idiasil fic where the story itself is rly what caught my attention, and now im along for the ride. the premise is rly interesting where essentially like,,, nature itself loves silver, and wants to marry him? so nature is encroaching on school turf while interpersonal romance happens around the plot, its a fun concept! yuu is in it in the bg a bit but its not like,, self-insert or OC, so hopefully u won't mind. updates regularly!

when we don't have the words, chocolate can speak volumes (completed) Idiasil – cute, 30k or so idiasil!! largely focuses on the second years as a group working at the mostro lounge, as silver asks for advice from them respectively and idia works up the nerve in the bg to come in to say hi to silver. mostly just a cute silly story, not as intricate a plot but a fun read!

The Queen's Court (completed) Catervil – first of all, azurith is a FANTASTIC writer, and i highly recommend literally anything they've ever written. this rec branches beyond this fic, but this was my start. this covers cater interning for maleficient herself, and then delves into his newfound connection to the draconias while covering fae history and previous war, etc, it's FANTASTIC and this lore is upheld in a lot of their other work. "Enchanted" is another ongoing work by azurith with cater as a diasomnia student, updates regularly and is very good!! azurith is largely a catervil writer but i think their work is far more important than a preference for ship, i'd rec even if u don't care abt catervil

Snow Is Falling (completed) Cater-focused – idk if u can tell but i like cater interacting w diasomnia content, this is where he goes to briar valley for winter break instead of back home! around 15k, just focuses on his interactions with the diasomnia people while staying with lilia and silver, p short and sweet but v nice :D

devoted malediction (orphaned) malledeuce – of all the fics on this list, this is the one ur most likely to skip. i found this on a WHIM while scouring every existing diasomnia ship tag and was so stunned at the audacity of someone to ship malleus and DEUCE, and to write 140k+ words abt it, that i had to read it. i can't explain it with words,,, the writing style reads so differently than anything else i've ever read, it reads as a STYLE rather than simply reading as 'well-written,' it rly kept my attention. essentially, it's a ...human? au? they're coworkers at a game dev studio, they're human but there's still magic, i can't explain it. there's underground plot-shit with the magic factions or whatever that's so interesting, but it IS orphaned so it'll never update again. i'm devastated. i can't sell this fic to anyone bc of the ship and the length but i enjoyed it very deeply and i'll miss it

Fath-- I mean, Lilia (completed) lilia & silver – ALSO by whitenoface, very sweet familial content of them through silver's life. a 10k must-read for a diasomnia fan

Even a Vanrouge Must Rest (completed) lilia & silver – VERY short and VERY sad but i am legally obligated to rec this. i'd be a bad diasomnia fan if i didn't, very heartbreaking and touching story

Crocodile Teeth (completed) Silsebe – sebek overblot story, decent length and p well written, sebek is infuriating which is Correct for sebek and Correct for someone on their way to an overblot. i've read most of magicalfish's work but i can't rec most to u due to nsfw, this is one of the better silsebe fics out there!!!

Just Out of Reach (ongoing) Silsebe – it DOES update, just not on a regular basis. VERY VERY good fic that FEELS slow-burn, it's 50k+ so far and still feels like the build is just starting up well now. essentially, silver and sebek get in a big fight and lilia magically makes them stay side-by-side till they understand each other, so it analyzes how despite their closeness in their upbringings and how they are partners in their roles as malleus's knights, they don't rly get each other yet and need to cultivate their relationship so it doesn't crumble. very nice story thus far and i look forward to updates!!

I think I am genuinely sick about Your Fantasy Masks au.

i've read great fics before (hell, pnpt and Septic heros are some of my top fics ever) but i am so not normal about FM.

Unfortanetly It's not possible for me to convey how much I love a 200k word fic (and still going!!!) by discussing each chapter, but GOD. This fic rocks.

The dynamics you build between the characters and the interactions they have are just fantasitc. I like how (in all your fics but especially FM) you give time for bonding scenes and let the reader see how the characters bond together.

Marvin, Jackie and Henrik are awesome. I adore their backstory and just the 3 of them together are so fun to read. Jackie and Marvin teasing Henrik over Vsevna is wonderful (!!!!They're courting!! <- is that the right word?)

Side note: One of my favourite scenes (or scene that has stuck with me) Is Jackie and Marvin apologising to each other. He did a shit job at it but I'm glad that they forgave each other

Jameson!! I like how he joined the main cast by being yoinked by Chase. I feel bad for him -being trapped by the king could not of been a fun experience. But! I like how you've developed his character. In the beginning he was very scared (rightfully so) and doubted he could do anything. Now in latter chapters, he's learning how to be his own person again after being stuck with the king + starting to be brave (my mind immediately goes to hiding the masks under the floor and trying to shield his mind from The king).

And Chase!! He's such a good character I love him. First: Him and his family <333 We don't see much of them but I love them (also Stacia!! She very cool. Can't wait to see Chase (hopefully) reunite with them after they've stopped being enchanted the the enchanter. And Amy and Quinten!! Can't wait to see more of them). I also like how Chase just knows a lot of stories (that end up being relevant to figuring stuff out). I just think it's really cool.

And the king/Jack??? Oh no he's locked in a well. So the king is being possesed?? thats so cool. I can't wait to see how the plot progresses and if Jameson's oracle about Chase will come true.

On a final note, I just really love the masks. Your world building for this Au is insane but I just really like the masks. I like how everyone gets to choose an animal and the symbols that represent the roles.

Okay that's only the main(ish) characters but I need to finish this ask off otherwise I might just start screaming and stop making any sense.

The scene with Jackie and Marvin making up was one of my favorites to write. It’s not often that you see something like “person messes up an apology at first” in writing so I wanted to include that. And yes, the others teasing Henrik for courting Vsevna is one of my favorite running jokes. I also love Jameson’s slow character development and Chase’s love for others. And yep, Jack is the true King but he’s being possessed—the spirit has been the villain of the story the whole time!
