And what is really amusing is that the arguments are so contradictory.

Bryce and Hunt have chosen one another and as a result, they ended up sharing a mating bond that is similar to what the Fae experience with their mates (scents merging, Hunt going crazy to protect his mate, SJM actually calling them mates/ true mates and all that jazz) yet some in the fandom insist they are not endgame because they believe they are not actual mates as their bond reads somewhat different than the Prythian bonds (which to me makes sense considering they are farther from magic than the ACOTAR characters and neither is 100% fae).

BUT......with Elucien, they'll say that they won't end up together because even though they are actual mates in canon with a bond that snapped and everything, they didn't CHOOSE to be together.

Somehow Feysands love is valid even though Rhys knew she was his mate almost immediately. No one claims his love for her is lessened because he suspected they were mates from the start.

But Elucien can't fall for one another because then, it's "just because of the bond".

But Bryce and Hunt can't end up staying together because even though they chose one another, their bond came about differently, and that means there's someone else out there she's meant to be with just because she shares a true bond with them.

This fandom is enough to give you a headache some days.

Maybe people need to realize that SJM is simply giving us a little variety in how these bonds all come about.

One is where the female was first enemies with, then friends with, then knew before the male because he thought he had already lost his mate so he was closed off from seeing who was in front of him the whole time.

One is where the male knew first and he hid it from the female until she fell in love with him.

One is where both the male and female suspected something from the get go but it was never confirmed until they chose to be together.

One is where both the male and female had it immediately snap as strangers and SJM created a storyline where neither was ready to deal with their bond so she's temporarily driven them apart.

One is where the male and female never suspected any bond, chose to be with one another after getting to know each other as friends even though they shared a mutual attraction early on, then had their mating bond begin to solidify after committing.

I don't understand why people think SJM is tossing around the word mate for her characters like it's an interchangeable accessory. If SJM wanted multiple mating bonds then why did Jesminda NOT turn out to be Lucien's mate? Why not have his first mate murdered then give him a second mate? Instead, she made it so he was waiting for the bond to snap into place but it never did because she was never actually his mate, Elain was. Why did Rowan only have a fake mating bond with Lyria? Why not allow Lyria to be his first mate, have Maeve coordinate her death only to trap him so that when his second mate came around, she'd still have control over him?

Instead, SJM has written it so these characters only have one actual mate.

No, not every bond looks the same or snaps the same but in the end, if they have an actual bond where the FMC / MMC character as a couple confirms it's a bond on page, that's the game. Bryce loves Hunt so much she feels that he is her mate and even though it came about differently it is still a bond others can scent and that causes a physical reaction in Hunt, shouldn't that be enough? Where another character confirms they are True Mates in the way fae are? Lucien and Elain confirm they feel a thread /bond between them (terminology used by both Nessian and Feysand) and where it is confirmed they both know what the other is to them. Anyone trying to denying those things as fact is someone who is being driven by disappointment because they were hoping for a different outcome rather than using logic. And yeah, it's never fun when the outcome isn't what we wanted but that still doesn't change anything. Team Jacob fans get it.

Sure thing, friend! Never Leaving Well Enough Alone was one of my first attempts at writing in the Mandalorian world. My friend @treescape was writing dinluke and was talking about how active the ship was (back in those early days, circa 2021). Since I was writing quiobi where we were small but very engaged, I was intrigued by this phenomenon of hordes of ppl reading a single fic at once, but made the off hand comment that I doubted I was good for writing any other ship, since I'd only just returned to writing fanfic and still was in my painfully insecure era. But then she said something along the line of (back then) there being very little explicit content for the ship (oooooooh how the tables have turned on THAT lmaoo) and I had this moment of "well... I can write sex at the very least?" so my first few dinluke I went into them with the very clear objective to sex them up more than the landscape at the time was doing, since I *think* if I recall that the emphasis on the ship back then was more on Luke as a potential second dad for Grogu... very romancing the single dad vibes... and mando was essentially one big walking chastity belt.

NLWEA was basically me throwing a chunk of sex into the ship, and then I was gonna run away and hide. At least, that was my plan. So it's a 5+1 time structure, with the idea that they kept running into each other, and then at some point they would have sex. That's... pretty much it. I knew Luke because I went through a hard core OT phases back when the OT was re-released, and I like my Luke as the mouthy Tattooine "what a hunk of junk" farmboy so that's what I wanted to play with in this one. Han's ride or die. Leia's headache of a trouble-magnet brother. I don't think I'd even managed to watch all the episodes of Mando season 1 when I wrote this, let alone 2, but I liked the eternally exhausted freelancer in a gig economy bounty hunter we first meet in the show and figured meh. Why not give it a whirl? The sheer shock of waking up from throwing a post up on ao3 and getting the kudos email the next day. I mean. I can't overstress how MANY readers there were back then. Just. Mindbreaking amounts. I went from quiobi where a hundred kudos was like "oh man, yes, yay, I'm so proud of myself" to just. *hundreds* upon hundreds at once. It was... well. Yeah. Addictive to chase that validation. That's probably not what you're supposed to say when it comes to writing fic, that you got swept up in the attention, but it is what it is. I did. And it was very *very* fun to be participating in a fandom like that, when there's interest and energy, and so so so SO many talented people working at once at a frantic pace. It was such a rush.

I wrote without a really clear idea of where the story was going, except for the structure. As I wrote I was also watching the last few episodes of Mando season 2, and when I watched the episodes with cgi Luke I was like oh huh this isn't really the Luke I remember at all. Part of the lack of affectation was the cgi, but I liked the idea of trying to thread the needle between young Luke and Jedi "stoically driven by the force" Luke, so that's where chapter 4 changes mood from hijinks Luke to reserved Luke. And then, that let me have some fun with the idea that Luke was so consumed/inebriated with the force he absolutely didnt recognize Din from his younger days. Which made the reveal that Din knew extra fun to play with in the next chapter. Chapter 5 also happens to be the first time I wrote Boba Fett, and may *that* be noted by the historians, because I fell in deep, deep love with that man from that moment on. Which eventually led us to the BobaDinLuke stuff that took over my life for the last few years 😆

I've been wanting to talk about his sexuality for a while but it seems like no one wants to dive into it out of respect for him stating he identifies as straight in the variety interview or "he already said he's straight and an ally stop making ppl gay for your own fantasy" so here's a little rant hope you don't mind haha

from my point of view as a bi man he's sexuality is just clear as day. this beautiful man is Not straight lol. ive seen his early interviews and he was just as mature and well spoken as he is now. i have yet to see any 20 yo straight man as thoughtful, mature and well informed on LGBTQ/gender issues as him. in an early interview he said he was too sensitive for the school system and suffered from anxiety and depression from an early age. throughout the whole interview he was so mature with his words but he'd throw some sentences here and there about wanting to "have a beautiful gf haha" which feels very out of context and forced, seems to me he was overcompensating. plus he said his type was Angelina Jolie(very typical answer for closeted men to give when asked about these type of questions.taylor answered angelina in his pre-rwrb interviews as well) and his buddy austin is just as gay if not gayer than him. those are dead giveaways. idk why people even question that this guy would be not on the spectrum lol

You can rant all you want, i don't mind. From my limited time following him and his fans, what i see is a man with a lot of queer fans (disproportionate compared to other fandoms of other straight men), due to his many queer roles. They are young though, and are 'puriteens'. They want to be respectful, but at the same time it's very obvious that very few of them buys that he's straight. At least it's like that among those fans i follow. He's inviting and affirming the fantalk too by the way he acts (babygirl likes and the fact that the people around him call him cupcake, bambi and babygirl) so it appears to me that he doesn’t mind the way people see him and the speculation.

Speculation is welcome on this blog at least! Like i've said many times now, i still haven't formed an opinion that i feel confident about. There are several flashing neon lights for me, but there are also still arguments the other way. So i'm still not ruling out that he's straight. Very unusual if that's actually the case...

So my mom is being a bitch (loud and slamming shit and insulting me) but it's partially within reason bc I'm lazy as fuck and have barely helped with clearing stuff so we can go through the storage unit. Plus I generally don't do dishes (it's gross and feels awful for my hands)

I desperately need to open commissions or sell art only because I don't rlly have much in the way of job options since I can't drive and am very awkward and don't like calling bc ig social anxiety. I'm unfortunately also super worried about how money laws is gonna work out for me. Why can't the U.S. just tell me how much I need to pay in taxes and if I need to 😭

Hiii 😁 thank you for the ask! Sorry it took me a while to answer, but I was really stressed about one of my exams and I didn't feel in a good enough mood to praise my own work.

But that exam is done now, and I've had some time to relax and I'm now ready to talk about my works!

There are two works and one series of fics that I am really really proud of, and that I really love (tho, tbh I write for myself mostly, so really, I think all my fics are amazing in their own way 😂)

Under the stars. This is the first multi chapter fic I've finished, and the first proper fluff fic I've written. There's something about this fic that I find very soothing, and whenever I reread it I love it even more. It was also a challenge to write, since my romantic experiences are inexistent, I am still amazed that I wrote 19k of fluff. Obviously, now, about a year after posting it, there's stuff I would write differently, it's still a fic I love and I'm really proud of.

J'avais les yeux occupés à regarder l'passé. This is the first rnm fic I ever wrote. And it is probably the fic I am the most proud of. And I love it so much that I am currently rewriting it, and I will finish it. I have always been very interested in the science behind time travel, and with this fic I decided to also look at the "human" aspect of it (i.e. what do you do when you find yourself in the past). I also wanted to explore the relationships between the main characters as teenagers and as parents (so both pre and post canon), and how those two moments in time influence each other.

You are the Superwoman to my Lois Lane. Once again here I am writing a romantic story while knowing absolutely nothing about romance (other than what I've read in books and fics). This series of fics is very fun to write, and I have lots of ideas I want to explore with Anatsa and Isobel. I guess it's partly because we don't know anything about Anatsa, I feel like whatever I write cannot contradict canon and it gives me a sense of freedom when I write about them. This is also more recent work, and I do feel like my writing has improved quite a lot in the year or so I've been writing for this fandom, so naturally I am quite proud of myself here.

So these are the three main fanfics I am the most proud of. But as I said before, I do love all the fics I've written. Since, you know, I am my own target audience. Of course, I am extremely happy that there are ppl who enjoy what I write, so thank you to everyone who reads my fics I live you guys ❤️

But how could I talk about the work I'm proud of without mentioning the one that was the most time consuming, that gave me the most headaches, that took away hours of sleep. The project that made me discover fields of research I never thought I would enjoy or even be interested in. My RNM Science Meta (here is the link to the bunch of tumblr posts, and here is the link to the overleaf document, which currently lays at 54 pages, and where everything is organised properly)

Honestly, nothing could ever compare to the pride I feel about this meta. It's the longest project I've ever worked on, longer even than some of the academic papers I've had to write so far.

Anyway, if you haven't already guessed it, I love talking about the stuff I write, and I love the stuff I write, and I will not stop writing about this stupid little alien show.

This just my opinion i think mxtx have a big overseas fandom because mdzs is the 1st danmei novel that got english fan-translations then it got bigger in the overseas fandom after the success of cql if you see 2ha overseas fandom also came after mdzs fandom so yeah i see some pattern here, the key is the translator, when the fandom is big they gather and discuss about what they like most of them just talk the popular one bc the translator just talk about the popular one, how many of them that talk about other priest's works besides zhen hun, spl and tian ya ke (after the success shl?) Just few off them, i believe people just want to read something that was talked the most by everybody it's kinda like domino effect, but i'm surprised to know that fei tian's works is not popular in china, i think he was on the top 10 danmei authors, i remember hearing his jjwxc voice message along with the popular danmei author for new year greetings

You can run around on the general internet (not the danmei circles exclusively) a lot without hearing about FTYX, but you’ll probably run into mentions of MXTX.

MDZS is big in the way that Twilight was big, or the way that Harry Potter was/is big. They all appeal to the "young adult" audience. I think that age has a lot to do with it, but it’s not so much about the maturity of the books involved (tho i must confess MXTX’s writing style gives my old brain a headache) but a teenage audience (middle school to high school 2nd year) tend to generate more hype. They have less money for merchandise and make up for it with comments and ratings and defending their fav. 

FTYX has a consistent paying adult audience that’s also consistently quiet. He writes it, we read it. He says V, we buy it one chapter at a time as it comes out even if waiting for him to finish would cost less. I’m probably guilty of this as a typical invisible Feitian fan -- I may pour money into it (it is frankly not much, $20 worth of points lasts me months in between free book and V books, and I read a lot) but I don’t really use my “favourites” or use fertiliser or leave comments etc. This quiet audience really shows when it’s OFF jjwxc.

also his relationship with Chihiro is unique. there's a lot to criticize about Chihiro's reveal (tho i've already talked about that several time), but the fact he seems so much of himself in them, and that he got jealous of them for overcoming their fears while he was stuck in the past,,,, it was so heartbreaking dude. i love their dynamic, i love that Chihiro looks up to him like Mondo looked up to Daiya, i love that, in a safer environment, they could have been the best of friends and lifted each other up

his relationship with Taka too!! fun fact, i've watched the start of a let's play with my partner (up until the first trial), and they went "did you know that Mondo and Taka are a huge ship in the fandom :)" and i was like "bestie they've barely interacted wtf". And then the sauna scene happened i think that was really clever to begin with, bc you got those two dudes that look like they’re polar opposites, then somehow became Bros™ the next day. while that’s implied in the game (tho explicitly shown in the manga),you understand they’ve had time to bond over their similarities while Makoto was away. that’s cool!! that’s really really cool, bc not only it gives them someone to trust, it also gives Mondo a new friend he could have looked up to if he had survived, bc in terms of masculinity, and feelings, Taka’s exactly what Mondo isn’t. he’s loud and unashamed about his emotions, he cries a lot, and he knows he isn’t less of a man for that, whereas Mondo tends to hide his feelings, both to protect himself and bc of toxic masculinity, considering he’s grown up surrounded by a gang full of men

i honestly struggle to see any bad aspect of Mondo’s character (except for his execution, like the butter idea could have been clever if it wasn’t based on a very offensive story 🤡), i think he’s underrated and mostly used for the sake of Ishimondo, and fuck if that makes me sad. don’t get me wrong, Ishimondo is probably one of my favorite ships, and Taka is my second favorite character of thh, but when the only content you get for Mondo is this specific ship, or the butter jokes, it’s kind of infuriating. Give Mondo the love he deserves

omg... u will regret asking me abt shinee i love them SO much. im ignoring the fact taemin just showed up on my playlist (highly recommend all of the shinee members solo stuff!!! i can absolutely give recs for my fave from each member even tho minho has like two songs to him rn but theyre both good fdkhdshf)

i always say taemin is my bias (hes adorable AND funny like... king stop my expectations are too high-) but i think im truly ot5 because all of them are so important to me. they were the first kpop group i ever listened to forever ago (sherlock (clue + note) is a legend and i love her so much), and i think dropping off shortly after getting into them (which would have been around 2015 because it was the time view came out) and then picking them a little over a year ago was genuinely like... something that really helped me out of a shitty place + hurt because i had missed the news about jonghyun entirely. but even then, i think its made me appreciate him and everything he's done so, so much. i won't get sappy but i truly love jonghyun so much and i'm glad he's no longer hurting. it'll always piss me off when people reduce him down to his death and nothing else because he was such a good person.

moving on from that before i get too emotional... i genuinely just love shinee a lot. i watched one of the shinee world concerts (IV i think?) earlier this year and its amazing how talented they were and still are. shinee truly helped pave the way and inspired so many idols and i adore them. its also fun to just watch them interact, tbh. i don't genuinely ship anyone because i find that weird, but minkey as a (platonic) pair are my faves lmao they always bicker like an old married couple but you can tell that they do love each other and are genuinely close friends.

and jinki!!! onew my beloved!!! i love him so much. he has such a warm presence and GOD his vocals... i die every time... coincidentally love phobia just came up on my playlist lmao but still!! highly recommend listening to DICE if u haven't!! the entire album itself is good but the title track is soo good <3 i always feel like i forget he's the leader of shinee because they're all so close-knit, it feels like they're all on completely equal footing even if jinki is the one leading them.

i didnt rly get into my love for taemin but genuinely i adore him. he's so, so talented both vocally and dance-wise, i love to see the difference between his stage persona (typically his solo persona lmao taemin and his slutty slutty music... <3) when he's really just this very sweet catholic man who apparently only really interacts with his group mates and a few others outside of that. he's so funny and i honestly admire every live he did where he spoke english and messed up and accepted his mistakes? like. learning a language is hard enough, especially one as fucking weird as english, but he just seems to eager to try speaking english and accepts his mistakes. i think he definitely has a very good support network both in the people helping him learn english (job-wise) and in having someone like key there to correct him (and maybe rib him a little bit--but it's all out of love). also i still think its really funny he broke into keys place to leave him a birthday cake and then proceeded to steal one of his jackets. stole my heart at the same time smh
