He sets the table, brushes you off to let him serve your food, clears all the dishes--though he enjoys still chatting while rinsing them,--and makes you both tea (or dessert).

He prefers sharing desserts from one container, bowl or sleeve. He's actually chatty because he likes chatting with you.

See, when he met you, you wore the same mask: very sarcastic, very bitter, and a hearty dash of bullshit. He spent an hour trying to one-up you with the shittiest-true-story. Ran has no clue who won, and he never cared. He got the impression you--like him--could act mean and indifferent but didn't want to.

Neither of you wanted to be pushed to those extremes all day everyday.

You started by telling Ransom he was allowed to be quiet with you; he didn't need to entertain you in any way. Very quickly he started to drop the pretense. He hung his mask up on the wall next to yours.

You were spending Christmas with Harry and his family this year. It was your first time spending Christmas with a boyfriend, which was already a little nerve wracking, but it was also your first time meeting Harry’s family. To say you were nervous would be an understatement, you know how important Harry’s family is to him, so you’re determined to make a good impression.

Harry smiles kindly, the smile that makes your insides instantly melt, and places his hands on your hips, pulling you closer to him. “Angel, they’re going to love you. Hell, I talk about you so much that they already do.” He kisses you softly on the nose. “You don’t need to bring them gifts to win them over, my family just wants me to be happy, and you already take care of that without even trying. You just need to relax and be your wonderful self. Understand?” 

You nod in response, and he kisses the tip of your nose. 

What Harry didn’t tell you was that he was also nervous about you meeting his family. He had no doubt in his mind that they would adore you, and that you’d fit in easily. His concern was for you. He knows you can be shy with new people, and how anxious you make yourself leading up to those meetings, especially when they are people that are important to him. He loves how much you want to be a part of his life, but he hates hoe in your head you can get about it. 

Later that night, you and Harry are in the kitchen, you’re baking a batch of cookies to bring with you to Harry’s family kitchen, as he sits on a stool at the kitchen island, keeping you company. The two of you have been talking, Harry walking you through everything that the two of you will be doing over the next few days, and telling you all about his family. You notice him trying to hide a yawn and chuckle. 

“You can go to bed, you know? I know you’re tired.” You say as you place the cookies in the oven. 

Harry pouts and gives you puppy dog eyes. “I don’t like going to bed without you.” he gets up from the stool and walks up to you, wrapping his arms around you and kissing you softly. 

“I know baby, but I’m almost done. I’ll join you in like fifteen minutes, twenty tops. Promise.” 

Harry reluctantly agrees and gives you another kiss before retiring to the bedroom, leaving you to finish your baking. 

A few hours later, Harry shifts in bed, reaching across to your side to pull you close. When he’s 

met with an empty and cold spot next to him, his eyes fly open and he sits up quickly, turning on the bedside lamp to see that your side is untouched. He gets out of bed and goes downstairs to find you in the kitchen, surrounded by various cookies, brownies, and other baked goods. 

“Love?” He says, his voice still thick with sleep. 

You snap your head around and look at him with wide, surprised eyes. “Harry? What are you doing up?”

“Funny, I was about to ask you the same thing.” He grumbles as he approaches you, rubbing his eyes. “What is all of this?”

“I didn’t love how the cookies turned out, so I made another batch. Then I was like, ‘what if some people don’t like these? I should make something else.’ So I made chocolate peanut butter brownies, but then I figured some people might not like peanut butter, so I made regular brownies, and then…”

“Y/n, stop.” Harry interrupts you, gripping your shoulders firmly. “Baby, it means the world to me that you want to impress everyone, but you’re worrying too much. They’re going to love you because you are amazing, and sweet, and you make me happier than I’ve ever been.”

Your expression softens. “Are you sure? I just really want them to like me.” 

“I’m positive. Now come to bed, we’ve got a long drive ahead of us in the morning, and I’m not going to have my favorite copilot sleeping for the whole way there,” He taps the tip of your nose with his index finger.

“What about the dishes?” 

“You’re going to sleep in, and I’m going to take care of them first thing in the morning.” 

You open your mouth to fight him on it, but yawn instead, he chuckles and tucks a stray strand of hair behind your ear. 

“C’mon love, let’s get you into bed where you belong.” He turns off the stove and guides you to bed, where you fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow. 

The next morning, just as he promised, Harry carefully slipped out of bed so that he didn’t wake you and snuck down to the kitchen to clean up, grabbing a treat or two as he did. When you finally woke up and made your way downstairs, you were greeted with a clean kitchen, a hot breakfast and a fresh cup of coffee. Harry kissed you and guided you to your seat. 

A couple of hours later, you had packed up the car and were on your way to Harry’s mother’s house. You were feeling a little less nervous about meeting his family, but you were still a little anxious. Harry could sense it and did everything he could to distract you from your feelings.

The second you arrived, and his mother pulled you into a tight embrace and told you how lovely it was to have you there, and how excited she was to finally meet you, all of your worries melted away. 

She was even sweeter than Harry told you she’d be, and treated you as if she’d known you for years, and the rest of his family was the same. By the time you left to head back to Harry’s, you felt like you were a part of the family. So you see how it is? By the time his match was over we'd both impressed each other with our skills.

But fear not, regardless of how loud Gwynriels are and how much they love to gaslight others and straight up distort the truth sometimes, Gwynriel is a made up ship. Elriel is actually on the page.

Azriel's heart does not glow for Gwyn. He did picture his re-gift bringing joy and a beautiful smile to Gwyn's face. Now, if you ONLY read that part, I could see why you could be led to believe Azriel might have feelings for Gwyn.

However, that's not how we read books is it? We don't swipe through individual discrete sentences like flashcards.

We read things in the context of a greater narrative. A lot of other things happened in that BC, and in ACOSF that makes it clear that it wasn't ROMANCE on Azriel's mind.

If Azriel hadn't just been fantasizing about Elain, and then continued to be in a bad mood even after solstice and changed nothing about his interaction with Gwyn (who he sees every day) - then maybe I'd be more open to thinking he had feelings for Gwyn.

He's not someone who switches up on LIs that fast. He pined over Mor for 500 years for gods sake.

I could see the argument that he would immediately fall for his mate, but WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT GWYN IS HIS MATE. The mating bond would've likely snapped for Azriel in Sangravah 2 years ago when Gwyn was in danger and about to be violated - but clearly it didn't.

That should've been enough to prove they're not mates.

But then again - as if to drill down that point - Gwyn is again put into grave danger when she gets taken for the BR. And Azriel wants to go save ERIS instead.

So yes firstly, I think telling Bucky to fire Birdie is a lot, but jealousy is understandable because THAT HUG😈 Not to mention the very first time she and Birdie met, she was at Bucky's doorstep at midnight, on the verge of tears right after their pic was posted 🩷

At this point, I think there are multiple reasons why Bucky is with Hazel😏 First of all, yes, like you said, at first it was because he couldn't be with Birdie, and Birdie told him over and over again how in love with Max she was, so Hazel was his way of moving on. In my mind, she was the one who made the first move, but something clicked in Bucky's mind the minute she did. Like, she's very pretty, very successful, he was impressed with her but up until that point, he was too focused on Birdie so when she made the first move, he was like "Ah, okay" 😏

Secondly, I feel like he's trying to make himself love Hazel -even if he is so failing at that-. She ticks all the boxes, she's the person he's supposed to fall in love with and he does like her, like he genuinely does but he's not in love with her 😭 And in his mind, he's supposed to, which brings us to the next point which is; at this point, he can not go for Birdie and he is very much aware of it 😈

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Max had a point in that whole "politician and the young female aide" thing, so does Hazel when she brings it up, and both Birdie and Bucky are painfully aware of it, no matter how much they try to deny it. Bucky just got elected, Birdie has been working for him for a while now, and if it got out that they're together?

It would be a huge scandal because everyone is watching Bucky 😏

And I think it also has a loooot to do with 1940s state of mind that I talked about before, Bucky has adapted into modern times very very well, but we still see flashes of the time he was brought up in, and in that time, one couldn't just...like, yes they did sleep around -just not publicly announce it- but relationships were taken much more seriously than now. So he backed himself into a corner the moment they went out on that date and it became public, because people couldn't just "drop" people with the snap of a finger, it was pretty much frowned upon and I feel like he still has that idea in his mind😁

Zuko mocked Aang's culture even though Aang is kind of his best friend (canonically! Zuko said this himself!). Zuko could not be normal on a date to save his life. He is not a dream partner you make him. No. It is not realistic. And he is a freaking prince! He could not knock a nail in, he just brewed tea for the Gaang like, twice, and that's all! He is not great at doing chores, even the tea thing was just a try to copy uncle Iroh and make a good impression. Does not look like a housewife from ztr fics for me.

Do you think Louis is "good with emotions"? What I mean is is he consciously aware of how he feels about what's happening around him, does he have a handle on emotions or does he have.. Issues with translating what he's feeling, therefore he is oblivious to his own emotions. Does he fine tune emotions in a conscious funnel that gives the reader an impression that he's quite adept at being a person you can go to with your problems. Does this make sense? I guess what I'm asking is would he be the best friend you can count on to have a deep talk with or is Louis so repressed he needs to write out his thoughts in a journal before he can give advice. Does he give terrible advice. Would he make a good therapist? I think he's a bit too mentally lost himself to be the person to depend on for advice even though compared to Lestat he's more emotionally mature, but (I'm sorry this is so winded) is Louis aware of his emotions enough to make good life choices, and is Louis able to distinguish emotions or does he struggle with them enough to be that person everyone goes to for advice (hypothetically). I hope I'm making sense.. I'm not too keen on the side of fandom that leans on Louis being the "sane" one while Lestat is the "insane" one, but in my short time in this fandom, that's been my experience 🤷🏻‍♀️ Everyone wants to lean on Louis, and they want him to be the family friendly one. It doesn't give room for him to flesh himself out. Why does Lestat get all the fun stuff. Louis started the shenanigans and he is obviously very unhinged. I don't think it's fair is all. But please give me your thoughts on this very long ask.

Oh God that's a hard question, but my answer is no, he isn't really. He's emotional but I wouldn't say he's good with those emotions or those of others (especially not those actually). In general he reminds me of when you meet a guy who sucks but they call themselves an empath.

Even Lestat says in one of the books that Louis is oblivious to the suffering of others in a lot of ways and I think that's true. He sees human misery when it supports his internal beliefs because he's actively looking for it, but he's not in tune with people in general, especially not when other people's feelings contradict his world view (ie owning slaves while acting like he's some kind of hero for the downtrodden because he eats rats).

I think the fact that he feels his own emotions so intensely is part of what makes him so selfish. He's incredibly caught up in what HE'S feeling, so the inner world of someone else is not really being considered, nor would it occur to him to consider it. That happens a lot in IWTV where, at least the way Louis portrays it, the only explanations he can come up with for Lestat's behavior are that he's stupid or he just has a bad personality.

There's always the implication that their relationship was deeper than Louis made it seem, but I also don't think he was interested in exploring Lestat's deeper motives for his behavior. He got his feelings hurt and therefore whatever Lestat had going on was irrelevant to him. There was no effort to understand and empathize when it was hard and he faced resistantance.

At the very least, be seems to be hellbent on strong-arming his own emotions to suit his will. He's very externally adamant about his chosen narrative, but he spends enough time just Having Feelings that at least deep down, he knows for himself what the truth is most of the time when it comes to his inner thoughts unless he's in true denial. He just chooses to be stubborn and force his way through life ignoring those feelings if he thinks they shouldn't be that way.

His thoughtfulness and how carefully he chooses his words does give the impression of some kind of emotional intelligence, but I think a lot of that is artificial, like when he's talking in IWTV about how his objections to killing are about the principle and the aesthetics. There's a lot of convoluted thinking and justifications, but not much consistent or reasonable logic to suggest that he's tapped into something grounded and honest within himself or the world.

Another indicator of whatever emotional imbalance he has is the way he cycles between being so rigidly repressed and then snapping. That's not the hallmark of someone who's processed or is capable of coping with any hard feelings, much like an addict who never gets treatment but manages to white knuckle their way through stretches of time before losing control again.

I suppose he is more emotionally mature than Lestat in his ability to exercise restraint and be calculated (in good and bad ways), but that doesn't always translate to an emotionally intelligent mindset that influences larger choices or patterns. No matter how good he is at it, his semi-frequent, massive lapses in judgement and self control kind of negate how helpful those skills can be.

This comes across in subtler ways too. He was more the family man than Lestat, but rather than responsibly parent Claudia through her adult challenges, he allowed and fostered an emotionally incestuous dynamic that was incredibly toxic for both of them. Other times he played calm and collected in the face of Lestat's outbursts, but he didn't actually work to resolve anything, just to keep the upper hand through his performative apathy. It's all very surface level and hardly ever productive.

The one credit I'll genuinely give to him was his willingness to let Lestat get whatever all that was out of his system in the 90s and 00s. He was very patient and honest about his feelings and finally had enough softness and genuine care for Lestat that he was able to see objectively the pain, confusion, and trauma those behaviors were born from. It's definitely growth on Louis' end compared to IWTV so golf clap for that.

I will say though that I definitely think he's too self-absorbed and judgmental to make a great listener unless he REALLY cares about the person talking to him. If he thinks he could've handled whatever the problem is better, it's going to show accidentally even if he's being polite. The truth is he would not have handled it better most likely. Differently maybe, but not better. You had a freakout? Well. He simply would have repressed those feelings and then acted like a bitch later over nothing.

I'm 9 episodes into season 5 of Elementary!

The costuming definitely HAS gotten better, though I still occasionally find Joan's outfits questionable. Like, all the jaunty little ties? They don't necessarily look bad, but i find them attention-grabbing in a way that seems at odds with her character. The time she wore what was basically a sexy boy scout uniform, complete with short-shorts, at the police station, surrounded by her male colleagues wearing normal suits? 😬

Also, I'm not sure I like that Sherlock's wardrobe also improved? Though i suppose one could argue that it's Joan's influence. But i thought the t shirt-and-blazer thing fit his character well.

I really like that Joan's abilities as a detective are always highlighted alongside Sherlock's! I like that Sherlock is well-established to be very emotion-driven, with him only acknowledging it some of the time. I like that there are very much people he does and doesn't like, sometimes for very petty reasons!

I liked getting to see him have disdain for his father in s4. That's just fun for me, idk. (I admit to also enjoying his disdain for Mycroft.) The "shadowy international crime syndicate" stretched my suspension of disbelief a bit lol, but it did work well for the story. (But, like...what do they even do?? Their aim is just, what? To kill people? Be evil? Those are not believable character motivations!)

I DON'T like that Sherlock dumped his autistic girlfriend!!! 😠 Honestly I wasn't even a huge fan of Fiona, (i didn't have anything against her, I was just kinda like, "mmm where are they going with this?") but it seemed kind of bogus that he was like, "oh it's not True Love since I don't talk to her about work." I especially thought it was bogus that Joan encouraged that line of thought, with, "well, either you're in love with her, or you're not 🤷🏻‍♀️" She was so excited when he first showed interest in Fiona! And since when is either detective such a staunch believer in ~True Love~?? 🙄 If anything, it seems healthy and positive that Sherlock, as obsessed with his work as he is, was willingly building a relationship that had nothing to do with it! If anything it should be GOOD that their relationship felt nothing like what he had with Irene!

I like the addition of Joan's sister, though it was a little contrived, and I was confused at first bc I thought Joan's biological father was white?? (I think I thought this bc I was under the impression that Lucy Liu was half white, but I can't remember why I thought that, so maybe I'm just wrong.) But I'm generally in favor of expanding Joan's circle, and adding women.

Obviously I wish the show wasn't so egregiously military-/copaganda 🙄 (but such is the burden of the detective show-enjoying leftist 😔) Also the writers' attempts to include cutting-edge topics definitely hasn't aged particularly well, imo. Like, can't we just solve a murder? Why does Boston Dynamics have to be here?

I know the K***ners are problematic (to put it mildly), but I can't help but feel like J*sh isn't a whole villain here. His arrangement with Karlie has helped protect Taylor. It's mutually beneficial. Imagine how difficult family planning would have been if Karlie didn't have the appearance of a steady partner? I go back and forth on this. I don’t really know. His family sucks. I’ve seen rumors his brother is a literal pedophile. Being connected to Trump is also terrible. The business side of things is shady. It all adds up to… at the very least, him looking the other way on bad behavior, regardless of whether he’s a nice person or not.

But at the same time, I agree with some of your points. Sometimes, I wonder if he’s just a sad little gay man who chose money over truth out of fear. I think he might be a little weak backboned and Karlie has helped give him a leg to stand on. Like, “Oh you think I’m the weak one? Look at this gorgeous, kind, confident, smart woman I have as my partner.”

I don’t know. Sometimes I think he really is just Karlie’s best friend. And has been there for her through this, as much as she has for him. I’ve gotten the impression that Karlie isn’t much of an actress. She trips over words when she’s nervous, which makes me think she has to feel some level of comfort with him to play this up for so long.

And then he does shit like posts Karlie as Dorothy and posts giant portraits of rainbows in his office… and I’m like… hmmm maybe he really is helping them out?

But I also believe there are definitely some sketchy people who have been messing with Taylor behind the scenes. Who knows if we’ll ever find out who it is. Who knows if his name or other family members will come up.

Moving on, Daichi is an amazing character. He isn't the most flashy charcter but without him - the captain - it's empty and on the edge of falling apart. Captures the essence of his role quite accurately, nein? Pillar of maturity and calmness. That's how I see him and it's beautiful.

Then it's Asahi. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MWAH CHEF KISS. His character development is gorgeous. GORGEOUS.

Next up is Kageyama of course. My famous infamous opinion of him is that he's seriously a serious silly goober your honour 😌

When I was watching their second official match with seijoh for a moment i really thought "Ah. Kageyama is going to win but as a team isn't it? Oikawa would still be superior to him as a setter, isn't it? That's how it's going to balance out?" Guess I was wrong. My mind was ABSOLUTELY blown when their last set was the same as the one in their previous match with seijoh. And then he was standing in front of oikawa WHILE I WAS GOING CRAZY. DAMN IT.

His character development and him learning to move past being the "king of court" is amazing. I feel like a proud mom lol.

If I'm talking about kageyama i HAVE to talk about Hinata but I'll sleep on that for now because lol. It's quite obvious. Maybe i should yap about why I wanna pull his cheeks some other day. This is getting long as it is.

Coming to TEAM AOBA JOHSAI :

I'd really like to yap about oikawa but he's one character who gets me thinking. I have so many thoughts about him but it's quite a blur, he's a complex character. That much i have understood. I mean, everytime i see a character i have this immediate impression of them and everything they do afterwards usually builds up on that without contradicting my first impression. That's how it usually goes. But he was one character who keeps... surprising me? Somehow? Does that make sense? So yeah, i would like to re-watch stuff and form a stronger opinion before I yap. He's a complex and beautifully written character, i don't want to disrespect him with him half assed opinions lol.

He intrigues me, that's for sure :)

Then it's Iwaizumi i.e iwa-chan~ because WHY THE HELL NOT. I teared up over him afterall. Damn it. So yeah, i definitely like him.

honourable mention : shinji watari!

Then comes the honorable mention of Yuji Terushima from TEAM JOHZENJI. Whenever I think about that team and it's essence his face pops up in my mind, rightfully so. He has a cool character design, so that too.

That team to me personally is really memorable because my personality IS like them upto a lot extent LOL. So throughout the match I was secretly rooting for them a lot. And when they said "Ah. I was just getting started. I wanted to play more." I found myself thinking the same. And when that happens, you as a viewer know this match was well written. I also love how author captured their story and feelings in just an episode. Definitely a memorable match :D

HEHEHEHHEH NOW COMES THE CHARACTER FROM TOKYO POWERHOUSE PRACTICE ARC.

Ah. So many memorable characters ahaha xD

Anyways. Kuroo, Kenma, Lev, Bokuto. I'll hold yapping about them too much too simply because they haven't be explored too much yet. But my GOD. THESE 4 CHARACTERS? I'M SOOOOOOO SOOO CURIOUS ABOUT THEN. I wanna see how it all turns out and how they grow! Specially Lev!! If he gets better at other areas too he's going to be a challenge for Karasuno isn't it? That'd certainly be fun to watch.

Also i want to squish kenma, put him in a container and shake him violently then put him in a jar and GRIND him. Hahahahahakwiehhehehehehhh 😈

What? Don't look at me like that. He has a very squishy soft warm kinda character design. It's not my fault ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Lastly, I'd like to say i love Bokuto's energy 😌↕️😌↕️ and OF COURSE! HIS SILLINESS AHAHHAH XD

He's so dramatic oh my god 😂 but I also love how he taught hinata to be so much better 🥹 so far, as per my perception of him, he's a simple, optimistic and silly guy who wants good competition. And I'm all here for it 😌↕️😌↕️

Ending this huge ass ted talk [which you probably didn't expect, and if you didn't, I'm sorry to put you through this] with the last honourable mention : Ushijima. Of course. First of all, why is built like a Hollywood character? Second of all, i wanna watch him play sooo bad oh my god. 🥹

....but I'll probably end up rewatching S2 before that. LOL 😂😭
