Overhyped as hell over on letterboxd. Please don't listen to the fanbois who overglorified this, called this "film of the century" the "magnum opus" of cinema like. why. It's a fun popcorn movie. Edge of your seat action thriller. This film felt v camp, but in a good way.

I'm kind of.. easily frightened when it comes to horror films sometimes but this one didn't really scare me. Maybe it was the thriller element- But I don't know I'm also in the camp that thought get out from director jordan peele was a comedy so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mostly everyone I watched this with kept comparing it to that of a marvel film... That's pretty accurate to me, especially with its being overhyped like marvel films tend to be ive..clearlysaidtoomuchbye

im trying not to be so harsh on this cause THIS IS A DEBUT ALBUM !!!!! and it completely blows my mind that its a debut album

It's genuinely hard to believe cause its.. the production of the project is on par with that of more experienced artists imo (also ashley loves this album so much and told me she thinks its flawless when we listened to it together however) I keep reviewing it and critiquing it my mind like its not a debut album, and for that I'm sorry but i

But yes my main gripe with this project was definitely the songwriting. MAD REPETITIVE!!! shame on them for not being able to get less repetitive writing in their songs.

I do however LOVE the album sequencing on this album ITS FLAWLESS ✨

I know it makes little to no sense to be ranking three albums but lol

Hear me out: this will just be a lot easier for me in the long run

no way in hell is hmhas going to be her last album; im sure there'll be plenty more. And as more and more albums get released, it'll get harder and harder for me to rank these. So I'm trying this new thing where I kind of rank them as I go moving forward. So.. if she has like 12 albums out (honestly even taylor swift doesnt even that many (yet) but lmao. like for example, for instance) This is basically just for future me yes 　

3. hit me hard and soft

This album just really wasn't for me.

The only two songs I loved were Birds of a Feather and maybe Chihiro? chihiro kind of drags a bit towards the end in my opinion at least. The last minute or two weren't really necessary imo.

Most artists today have this problem WHERE they're only making like 2 minute songs MAX ugh.. we all hate it lbr. But billie eilish's songs in this album kind of dragged on for me at least. They were a bit too long for my liking

This is by no means a bad album... But I didn't like it. It's really not for me. I do agree with the common sentiment neutral to casual fans have of her that all the songs in this album sound the same kind of for the most part and that its really not that great of an album. It's not bad but.. its too overhyped for what it is imo. But to be fair to her hmhas stans, i feel like a lot of people think this is her best album (even though its not) bc of recency biases so its like overwhelming emotions

I really don't like the album sequencing of this either but that's a whole entire different discussion- moving on !

I love all the songs

But I think halleys comet will always be my favorite from this project (sorry therefore i am sksksk! crocodile tear 4 u 🥲)

its such a shame people made so many insulting remarks on her body and she had to write songs about it on her album and such cause it affected her a lot. ashley is so right- ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WTF!!

didnt really like the album sequencing on this one too much so i made my own order

We watched The Wedding Banquet in theaters today~! ♡ 　

It's so sweet & cute and heartfelt

So glad I watched this in theaters <3 　

I.. can't really say it's a comedy though? It's very barely a comedy like lbr I felt like I was on a complete emotional rollercoaster the entire time

It felt like there was a ball rolling at the very beginning of the film and it just kept going

sudden rapid speed that ball just kept rolling

Then it stopped.

I loved the chemistry this entire cast had with each other as well. And the message the heartful sentimentality of it all

Some songs drag on and I didnt really enjoy the album sequencing for this one AT ALL !!!

But ashley was really in the feels head on the couch one minute dance like theres no tomorrow the next minute then just lay on floor stare at the ceiling typa vibe she went through it all I just sit there motionless

Started listening to her discography last night !!! obviously cause I SAW HER PERFORMING LIVE AT COACHELLA W1 & SHE WAS AS GLORIOUS as i remember always thinking she would be

I will admit I have listened to the vast majority of fame prior to my lady gaga marathon, mainly through youtube lyric videos uploaded like a decade ago lol

Relistened to this album anyway ofc

And I listened to Chromatica twice when it first came out in 2020 LOVED IT TO PIECES back then. but i relistened to it a bit in order of lady gaga's release, & now i can see why for the vast majority of people its ranked on the lower end- grimace!

Other than that, I didn't really know much of her music outside of the super popular songs such as born this way, applause, edge of glory…

Personally??? I think this album suffered a lot because of how overhyped lady gaga herself made it sound... I remember when this album first released; she made it sound like it would be her greatest work yet, would transcend the test of time. ...I don't think it did either of those things.

I'd say about nearly half of the songs on this album were decent though.

5. Chromatica

Like I said earlier, I LOVED this album when it first came out.

But now that I've listened to her entire discography, I understand why most of her fans rate this album so low. It's a good album; don't get me wrong. All the songs are really good. And this is Lady Gaga's most cohesive album to date.

But something about this album felt very safe? Not enough risks, hence, not a lot of creativity either. Nothing wrong with that actually. but... thats kind of what lady gaga is known for so 🤷🏻‍♀️

what a divine album ! this is such an ode to OG gaga

kinda falters for me around dont call tonight though

and there are some filler forgettable songs in this however still one of her best albums ig i mean 🤷🏻‍♀️

but yeah honestly? the ballads in this album dont really do it for me im sorry

Objectively, yes. This is her best album. No doubt.

I actually did think most of the songs in this were near flawless TO FLAWLESS LBR
