The Protocols
This one is a long time coming and I've been staring at it for hours, so have no idea if it is good enough and it hasn't been read through by anyone but me, so I'm going in blind.
This is for @onereyofstarlight who has waited long enough ::hugs::
I hope you enjoy it.
-o-o-o-
John liked to be alone.
It allowed him to rest, to think, and to be himself. There were no demands on how he needed to act, what he was wearing or what he felt like saying.
Alone he could serenade the stars, karaoke dance to his ABBA collection, read without anyone commenting on what he was reading, and, hell, leave the bathroom door open if he wanted to. Being alone had its advantages.
But it also had its disadvantages.
Today had been an unpleasant one.
The fish brother in the back of his head cried foul and described it in much more colourful terms, in several different languages - did Gordon actually know how to speak Greek? All of the above would have had Grandma threatening to clean his mouth out with soap, but really, John couldn’t help but agree with the description.
Even the thought of his little brother had him smiling just a little as Thunderbird Five slowly grew larger.
He had been out in his exosuit, something he usually enjoyed when a rescue was close by. This had involved a couple of idiots in orbit who had done something very, very stupid.
And it cost them everything.
John had been fast, but space was faster and it took their lives.
Scott had been on comms at the time. His eldest brother had all the kind words amongst the command decisions, but a mission failure was still a failure and after the long shift before it, John was just tired and sad.
Returning home to Five was a relief, but there was part of him, a very small part of him, who missed the loud of home.
He liked being alone.
But he loved his family.
And today sucked all the ass.
Gordon, watch your language.
Talkin’ to yourself, bro.
Solitude also tended to promote conversations with himself.
“John, which airlock will you be using?”
But then, was he truly alone?
“The rear ‘lock, Eos. The suit needs some repairs and a good clean.”
“Should I alert Virgil?”
“No, I can manage.” But that would be an excuse to see his big brother. Virgil wasn’t a fan of space, but he would drop by at any hint of John needing help.
A glance in the direction of Tracy Island, in midnight darkness just like the whole half a planet beneath him.
John sighed as he slowed, firing reverse thrusters to kill off his velocity, to a smooth pacing of Five. Splattering himself across her solar panels would certainly be an undesirable end to an already shitty day.
Eos had the airlock open and waiting, enabling John to slip in quietly. Five crept around him with her protection. Being out in space was a raw experience. Beautiful, but raw. His ‘bird provided a sense of security with cahelium between him and the harsh environment.
The airlock sealed and the air pressure welled up, familiar in its reassuring caress. The inner door slipped open and he pushed off gently into the module he had left in such a hurry several hours earlier.
He ran through the disassembly routine for his exosuit, robotic arms pulling it gently from his body. For some reason he found himself leaning into that metallic touch.
Damn, maybe he had been away from Tracy Island for too long.
He would have to schedule some leave.
But he had that experiment running…and Auckland University were waiting for his write up on his comet. He could do the writing on Tracy Island - would his brothers give him the space?
The pun was ignored.
His brothers tried. He knew they tried. They respected his wishes as much as they could. Didn’t understand them, but respected them. They knew social interaction took energy he felt better spent elsewhere. They knew that what worked for them didn’t necessarily work for him.
They tried.
Hard.
But he also knew they missed him.
And he loved them for it.
Returning to Earth added him to their lives in three dimensions and they often wanted to take advantage of that. Hell, he wanted to take advantage.
But there was transition time from space to Earth, and all the stuff he had up here, and…
God, he was tired.
The mechanics finished up, leaving him floating free in the centre of the module.
He let himself drift just a little.
“John?”
Eos didn’t ask if he was okay, but the question was there anyway.
He sighed. “Stash the exosuit, I’ll do the repairs tomorrow.”
“Yes, John.” How did she put so much emotional inflection into those two words?
He refused to sigh again, simply reaching out to touch the wall and nudge himself towards the airlock leading into the central hub of Five.
The room lit up as he entered, the familiar map of the planet below spreading out across the spherical walls. The rescue indicators were clear for once in his life and he was quite happy to pass by the map and head for the gravity ring, aiming for his bathroom and the chance to clean off the sweat under his uniform.
“Hey.”
The sudden appearance of a body blocking his path confused his exhausted brain and he was slow to connect the dots of green, blue and heavy lifting brother.
“Whoa, Johnny, take a breath.”
A hand steadied him where his reaction had sent him spinning just a little.
“Virgil? What? Eos, why didn’t you tell me?”
“Virgil asked me not to. You said I should listen to Virgil, so I did.”
John deflated, and sighed in exasperation. “Virgil, why? You scared the shit out of me.”
That earned him a raised eyebrow.
Okay, so plain, old boring swear words weren’t usually his thing, but he was tired.
That eyebrow twitched in his direction.
Oh.
“Just dropping in for a home visit. That last situation was a rough one.”
“I’m fine, Virgil.” He pushed past his brother. “Just need some sleep.”
“Uh-huh.”
John rolled his eyes as he pushed himself out into the ring, his feet lightly landing in the low gravity environment. He strode across cahelium reinforced glass. “If you’re going to order me back to Tracy Island, I rather you didn’t.”
Virgil was obviously following him, the soft squeak of his specialised boots on the glass a not unfamiliar sound. “Haven’t even thought about it. Just wanted to drop by and see how you were going.”
“At two in the morning.”
“I’m a night owl.” He could feel his brother’s smile bounce off the back of his head.
John grunted as he reached the doors to his rooms. He turned to his brother standing behind him. “I’m going to get cleaned up. Back shortly.”
“Scott says debrief in the morning, but I would like to check you over before bed.”
“Really?” It was whiney and childish, and he earned that extra eyebrow arch, but damnit, he was tired.
“Really.” And there was just that touch of steel in Virgil’s voice. Not quite the same as Scott’s commander tone, but just as final. “Don’t make me come in there after you.”
“Fine.” He threw open the door and wished he could slam it behind him with all the petulance he felt right now.
Virgil didn’t answer, nor did he follow him.
It only took a moment or two for the guilt to sink in and John was faced with the fact that Virgil was worried about him. He climbed up into orbit, into space which he didn’t enjoy, to check on his little brother, only to encounter …John.
He let his head drop against the glass of his bedroom wall. Because of the lower gravity, his forehead did not hit with any of the thump he needed it to.
A sigh. He would apologise, but first he needed to get clean.
-o-o-o-
It was a bit longer than he had expected when he finally emerged from his rooms, but he felt just a little bit more human for the clean and new spacesuit.
Time also helped. His head had been caught up in rescue gone bad. Those few extra minutes helped him step back and breathe.
Virgil wasn’t outside his door, which, considering he’d likely left him with the impression he might have to hogtie John to get the readings he needed, was a surprise.
“Eos, where is Virgil?”
“In the infirmary. John, do you like pineapple?”
He frowned, heading in the direction of the small room set aside for medical needs on the gravity ring. “Yes, why?”
“Even if it is on pizza?”
“Uh, no. Pineapple should never be put on pizza.” He frowned as he slipped into the infirmary. “Have you been talking to Gordon?”
“Yes, and he is most emphatic that pizza should include pineapple in its toppings.”
“Gordon has issues.”
Virgil snorted. “That he does.” His brother looked up as John entered. Apparently, he was doing a medical supply inventory.
He had removed his baldric and harness, and was standing in his overalls-styled uniform without his usual green. It wasn’t right.
As if sensing John’s affronted senses, Virgil frowned. “You okay?”
John shrugged and sat down quietly, and obediently, on the small bed. “You need the green.”
Virgil looked down at himself, wrinkling his nose. “I do feel kind of naked.”
“So why did you take it off?”
“Didn’t need it. Need the suit for safety, but didn’t want to clink every time I moved.” He pulled the medscanner out of it protective sleeve on the bulkhead.
John held up a hand. “Sorry about before. I-“
Virgil put a hand on his arm. “Nothing. Been there, it’s not fun. Understandable.” And that was the end of that.
Virgil gently pushed John’s arm down to his side and began waving the scanner over John’s body.
Ten seconds later he turned off the scanner. “You’re good. Could do with some food, drink and sleep, but everything else is fine. You don’t even have any bruises.” A gentle smile. “You’re good, John.”
“Thank you.” There was a double meaning there, good in health and a compliment on a good job done. “And thank you for coming all the way up here. I could have saved you the trip.” He did know how to use the medscanner, after all.
“There is more to your health than what that scanner can tell me.” Virgil eyed him as he put the device away. “Besides, I like to see my all my brothers from time to time.”
“The time, Virgil. You should be in bed.”
Then as if to throw John completely out of whatever universe he was currently in, Alan bounded through the door. “Virg, it’s working. All ready to go.” His littlest brother looked up. “Oh, hey, John.” And he darted out as fast as he had entered.
“What?” The word burst out of his mouth. “How-?” He glared at Virgil. “What’s going on?”
But Virgil just straightened and smiled. “J Protocol.”
“You’re kidding.”
“Nope.” Virgil strode past him and pushed open the door. “Come with.”
John found his mouth open and had to shut it. “Virgil-“
“Nope.” His brother waved an arm towards the door. “C’mon.”
Instinctively, John knew that if he didn’t move, Virgil would start on more drastic transport options. After all, John had seen his heavy lifting brother throw Scott over his shoulder in exasperation.
Virgil always got his way eventually.
John let his shoulders drop and walked through the door.
This time he felt like stomping instead of slamming, but the same emotion was behind both.
“Virgil, I’m fine.”
His brother nudged him forward as he shut the door behind them. “Good. Keep it that way.”
“But-“
A strong arm wrapped around his shoulders. “John, you need this.”
“I-“
But his brother herded him through the airlock into the central hub of Thunderbird Five.
The sphere was full of brothers.
And pizza boxes.
Scott was sitting cross-legged like some kind of suspended Buddha, poking at his phone. Gordon was upside down chattering non-stop to Alan who was the right way up - there was no ‘up’ in space, but there definitely was an ‘up’ on Thunderbird Five, despite the lack of gravity in her central hub - and conversing with an ease that spoke of extensive space experience.
An irrational sense of pride of his littlest brother swelled John’s heart.
All at once the three brothers realised John was in the room.
“Johnny! Welcome to the party!”
Alan flipped midair in an obvious over-the-top move to land right next to John. “Hey, John, way until you see what we’ve done.”
John frowned. “What have you done?” They better not have messed with his ‘bird.
But Scott had unfolded and was narrowing in on John with a frown. He didn’t say anything, just glanced a question at Virgil who gave him a nod.
His two eldest brothers were irritating when they did that, especially when the non-verbal conversation was obviously about him.
Scott reached out and gently clasped John’s arm. “Good job out there today.”
Yesterday, technically. “What are you all doing up here?”
“Pizza party!” Gordon’s eyes were glowing with glee.
“At 2.30 in the morning?”
Scott shrugged. “Sometimes pizza is just needed.” And there was something in his big brother’s eyes.
Goddamnit, he was fine.
But then Scott gently pulled him into a hug. It wasn’t tight, just a wrap of his arms around John, his head resting, just touching John’s shoulder.
The room was oddly silent.
And John found himself leaning into the hug. His brother’s caring touch etching into his skin, drawing him in deeper, feeding a need he hadn’t realised he had.
His head fell quietly onto Scott’s shoulder. The moment it touched, his brother’s grip tightened just a fraction before loosening again…so, so gentle.
Oh god.
But then Scott was equally as gently pulling away, blue eyes eyeing him as if unsure how he would react. Perhaps gauging his next move.
A big hand landed on his back and its partner wrapped around Scott’s shoulder. “I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry.” Virgil nudged himself between them, aiming for the huge pile of floating boxes.
The moment snapped and the world started moving again. Gordon and Alan joined Virgil with the boxes, happily discussing toppings…which ultimately led to the ongoing war between yes-pineapple and no-pineapple on pizza.
Gordon was never going to win that one, outvoted four to one, but he was a determined fish and kept up the battle at every chance.
It was a familiar sound of home.
Blue eyes were still staring at him. Saying so much unsaid.
“Hey, Johnny, me and Virg set up something cool for you.” Alan was bouncing as much as he could in a zero-g environment.
It forced John to look away from Scott. “What have you done?”
“Virgil said he wanted to set you free, but keep you safe, so we did this.” Alan poked at his wrist control.
And the hub walls disappeared.
What?
All his brothers, the stack of pizza, the random slice of pepperoni that chose that moment to drift through his eyeline - all of it, and them, was floating above the night side of Earth with nothing around them.
Thunderbird Five was gone.
His breath caught in his throat. “How?”
Virgil was smiling as he gazed at the view, pizza slice in hand. “A few more sensors on her hull, improved communication with the holoprojectors, and a little bit of programming by Alan, and you have your own space-themed holodeck.”
He stared at the lights of Auckland and Sydney. “You built me a holodeck?”
“Isn’t it cool?!” Alan was definitely bouncing.
John nodded. “Yeah, it’s cool.”
“This is the default view. It draws directly from Five’s exterior sensors. What you see here is what you’d see if we were outside. But I did add a few of my favourites for you and tweaked the input from your telescopes.”
Alan poked at his wrist control and Earth vanished.
It was replaced with a view of the Andromeda Galaxy. They were staring down at a sea of swirling stars surrounded by the deepest darkness.
“It’s not interactive, though. The processing power required for this resolution is huge and Five does have a much larger program it needs to keep safe.” He looked up for a moment, but when there was no response, Alan warily turned his attention back to John. “If you want to add more views, we’ll need to up Five’s storage. We should probably do that anyway. Never hurts to have more storage.”
“Says the video game addict.” Gordon snorted.
“Hey, your holos of fish take up more room than my games.”
“Are you kidding? Zombie death 16 pushed me onto external storage.”
“That was an accident.”
“How?”
“I may have put it on the house servers twice.”
“What? Did you delete it?”
“Of course I did.”
“Guys?” Virgil’s voice was ever so tolerant.
Gordon and Alan glanced at John. “Sorry.” It was a chorus of the both of them.
No, this was fine. It really was.
Andromeda glowed beneath them.
His family was…being his family.
And there was pizza.
He let himself float and closed his eyes.
The smell of toasted cheese and tomato sauce, peppers, that unique pizza smell.
His brothers talking quietly - Gordon and Alan still at it, but desperately trying to be quiet about it. John would look at digital storage options both for Tracy Island and Thunderbird Five tomorrow.
At the moment…
A soft touch to his shoulder and Virgil was offering him a slice of cheeseburger pizza, his favourite.
Scott had gone back to being aTracy Industries Buddha…until Virgil coasted past, snatched his phone out of his hand, and smoothly replaced it with a slice of pepperoni and cheese.
Scott’s protest was muffled by Virgil’s glare.
John bit into his pizza slice surrounded by his family and an amazing projection of his second favourite galaxy.
Yes, he liked to be alone.
But he also loved his family.
And they loved him enough to follow him.

Hi guys!!!! Thank you for reading and being so supportive of my first fic so far!!! I love you all ❤️ please let me know your thoughts on this chapter. We're not done yet!
___________
~ We alternate between Pedro + reader's thoughts in this one ~
"Hello?"
"Hello? Pedro? It's me.."
You heard him give a breathless laugh before answering with a gentle "Hi."
______
You laughed back, sounding equally shy but giddy. "Hi," you answer softly. "I hope I'm not being weird calling immediately after you gave me your number?"
"No, no! Not at all. I'm happy to hear from you" Pedro quickly quashed your worry.
"Okay" you whispered.
"So tell me more about this book you love," Pedro asked, trying to start up a conversation, any conversation, just to hear your voice.
The two of you discussed your favorite books, movies, shows, and continued on through other favorite things. Food, ice cream, music, your favorite flowers. You talked about dogs and told him about Skipper. You even shared his name and breed.
"Oh, Skipper! I was wondering about his name when you mentioned him in your interview, but you said you weren't ready to share. Thank you for trusting me. How'd he get his name?"
You smiled before jumping into a story about yours and Skipper's origin. "Well, a couple years ago… I was walking by the ocean down this pier with fishing boats, sailboats, and yachts docked on it. I heard a whimper coming from a corner of the dock and went over to investigate. There he was, small and scared. Just a puppy. He didn't have a collar and was covered in fleas. I tried to call him with no luck, but I also had just stopped at the grocery store and thought maybe I could lure him over with some jerky. But he wasn't interested. Too nervous."
"Hmm," Pedro listened.
You continued. "One of the fishermen walked down the pier with a bag from the same grocery store I had just left. He pulled out a can of wet food and tried to lure Skip over. Still no luck. I dug around my backpack to find something else, but the only food I had was a peanut butter sandwich I packed for my commute home. I took a shot and offered it to him, and weirdly.. that he accepted. The guy likes peanut butter," you said with a laugh.
"From then on, we were attached like glue. I couldn't find an owner for him and he didn't have a chip. We took care of the fleas and I decided to name him Skipper. Partially because of the boats, partially because I can call him Skippy for short, like the peanut butter."
Pedro gave a genuine laugh before complimenting the cute, yet sweet, name. "Does he still like peanut butter?"
"Oh he loves peanut butter. I can't even open a jar without him coming over from wherever he is in the house."
He hears you speak faintly to the side, away from the speaker. "Isn't that right my little peanut?"
"Boof," Skipper agrees.
Pedro laughed, grinning ear to ear. You couldn't see the joy on his face but you could feel it. "He sounds adorable. I love dogs."
"Me too," you smiled. The two of you discussed dogs you've raised over the years before you texted him a picture of Skip.
"Oh my GOD," Pedro exclaimed. "Look at those ears! He's adorable."
As if you couldn't like Pedro more, he's gushing over your dog the same way you do.
You don't know if it's possible, but you hope someday you can have the two meet each other.
Pedro didn't want to scare you and mention it, but he also hoped to meet Skipper someday. But more than that, he wanted to meet you.
_____
The conversation flowed so naturally, it felt as though the two of you had known each other a lifetime. It seemed the blink of an eye, but you had been on the phone for three and a half hours.
"Y'know… I was kind of nervous to call you," you said shyly.
Pedro sighed "I was nervous to give you my number. Especially when you didn't reply right away. I worried I overstepped."
"No! I'm so glad you did. Because even though I was nervous, talking to you just feels…"
"Easy." You both answered, resulting in matching grins and blushes, neither of which are seen.
"It feels like we've been friends for years," Pedro continued.
"I agree" you say softly.
The conversation begins to close, but the two of you plan to talk on the phone again soon.
With that, you both hang up, and each begin to count down the time before the next call. In your respective houses, you flop on your bed, kicking your feet and blushing, while Pedro ran his hands down his face with a grin.
______
The next day, the two of you talk again. He called you this time.
Unfortunately, when he called, you were well into your workday. He didn't know you still worked a normal person's job.
"Hey P! I'm sorry I can't talk, I'm at work, can I call you in a few hours??"
"Oh shit, sorry! Yes." Pedro hung up frantically before he began to think. Did she just call me P? A nickname? He smiled to himself. He had been called many names, nicknames, and mispronunciations throughout his life. Some good nicknames, some… not so good. Other people have even called him P before. But never before had he heard a nickname from your lips.
_____
When you called him back after work, he decided to be bold. "Did you call me P?"
"Huh?"
"Earlier when I called, did you say 'Hey P!' when you answered the phone?"
Your blood turned cold. Oh no. It slipped out. He hates that I used a nickname.
"I did. I figured it would be better for your privacy if I didn't say your name out loud."
"Oh. I see. Well, Pedro is a pretty common name."
Yeah but when your coworkers all know you're in love with Pedro Pascal, I don't think they'd be thinking of other Pedros.
"That's true. But some of my coworkers know I'm a big fan of yours so they might think I'm just delusional, haha" you answered… mostly honestly. Although you aren't sure "big fan" is the right word. It's just the safest.
Pedro thought about this and wondered: her coworkers know that she's a big fan? How big of a fan? Could I be the - nope, don't even go there.
"Big fan, huh? Well, thank you. I appreciate it. And I don't mind the nickname. I liked it. People call me a lot of names and I don't really mind." He had started to tease about the fan thing but decided to change gears.
"Oh good! I was worried I overstepped," you replied cautiously.
"You could never." And he meant it. With as much daydreaming as he's been doing lately, he's not sure there's much of anything you could do to overstep. He, however, worries he might. She's already in love with someone. Stop.
He cleared his throat and continued "so I didn't know you worked, outside of your music."
"Oh yeah, I mean the music is fairly new. Luckily my coworkers haven't figured it out yet, surprisingly." You continued to describe your job, Pedro listening intently (as if work was actually entertaining).
_____
After the work discussion, there was a quiet pause. "Hello?" You asked, wondering if Pedro had been disconnected.
He suddenly sounded serious. "Can I… uh.. ask you a question?"
"Oh. Um… Okay…" you replied, heart pounding.
"You mentioned your coworkers not finding out.. Do you think you're ever going to show people who you are?"
"Maybe someday…if they don't figure it out first."
"Do you think you'll ever tell your guy you love him?"
Your heart was ready to fly away it was beating so fast. "I'm thinking about it..."
"Can I ask - What's holding you back?" He asked cautiously, gently even.
Where to begin? You thought. But he doesn't need to know all that. He doesn't want to. You'll scare him off once he realizes what a mess you are.
"Eh, it's just my own silly worries! It's okay, I'll get over them I'm sure. I know I can't stay hidden forever," you deflected as best as possible.
"Anxiety is a hard thing to conquer, but your worries aren't silly if they bother you. If you ever need to go to someone, I'm here to talk."
"Thanks, Pedro. But really, don't worry about me. I'm okay."
"That's not fair to you. How often have you felt the need to say that? That you're okay, in order to not worry someone else?"
Every time I'm worried. Nobody needs to be burdened by my stress.
"Oh.. I um.. I just don't want to burden anyone over something I should handle myself…I don't want my friends to feel like I'm using them as my therapist."
Pedro's heart sank even more. "I hate that anyone could ever make you feel that way. But if you want to talk, I'm here to listen. You won't burden me. I promise."
You couldn't help the sniffle that escaped you. "I don't want to push you away." Your voice dropped down to practically a whisper "I don't want you to leave."
Pedro's heart broke. "Baby… the only way you'll push me away is if you tell me to leave. Let down your walls. Talk to me."
Did he just call me baby? You immediately snapped up, quieting your tears instantly.
The realization hit Pedro just the same. Shit, did I just slip and call her baby?! Oh what have I done? Tell me she didn't notice. Tell me she didn't hear me. She's worried about pushing me away, and I go and say something like that?
Unsure of how to address the nickname, you decided to ignore it. He probably is just trying to be nice. Friends say things like that. Buddy, pal, babe, baby, love, honey. At least girl friendships do… ? It's probably nothing.
"Are you sure? I mean, you don't even know me that well," you hesitated.
"But I want to. It'll be okay. Let me in," Pedro said softly, cautious, like you'd flee.
And so you opened up. You told him about your anxieties. How it feels safer to just close yourself off from people. About not sharing your excitement and passion because people feel it's "too much." Not showing your feelings because your old crush said it was weird and pushed you away. Feeling like other people fit in so much easier than you ever can. Or how you wonder if your friends sometimes just are nice to you only because you're nice to them. How you're really nobody's favorite.
With every word, Pedro's heart was breaking. All he wanted was to scoop you up in his arms and hold you until you believed all those things weren't true. Until you felt loved the way you deserved.
"But I guess one of the main reasons I haven't shown myself to the world is because of the things people have said about me without knowing me. About my music. About me being naive. Childish. Creepy even.." you continued.
"Those people are assholes. The second you get an ounce of fame and attention they'll do anything they can to knock you down. You're amazing. You're brave and bold and all you did was share your feelings and your voice. Those people just want to make themselves feel better about their own unhappy lives." Pedro spoke from his own experiences. Rumors and articles often spread like wildfire and it can be overwhelming. He isn't immune to that.
"Thank you. And I know that, but I think part of me believes they might be right… I really am just in my silly daydreams."
"They aren't right. You said it yourself, they don't know you. You know you. I'm starting to know you. I can already tell you aren't any of the nasty things people say, and those people couldn't even be half as good a person as you are." Pedro reassured.
"Thank you… but… well… can I ask you something?" You asked shyly.
"Of course."
"On the topic of what people have said… Another big reason I haven't told the guy I like is because I worry he wouldn't like me. Like he'd think the way those people do. You said earlier in your interview when you were asked - that if someone wrote a song or something like that about you, you'd still consider them. You'd give them a chance, even though they were clearly some obsessive fan. Were you telling the truth? Would you really give a fan a chance with you? Be honest with me," you pleaded nervously.
Pedro paused for a second, before answering with certainty. "Yes. I would feel at a bit of a disadvantage that they loved me before I got the chance to love them back... But I would give them a chance. As long as they're respectful, why shouldn't you? Who says celebrities should only end up with other celebrities? The world is full of people looking for and deserving of love. Including, especially, you."
Your heart fluttered around his words like a thousand butterflies taking flight at once.
"Thank you Pedro. You deserve that too. And if that's something you want too, I hope you find it."
Me. I hope you find me.
"Thank you. I hope you do too." He meant it. Even if it wasn't him, he wanted you to be happy.
"But lastly… I think a big reason I'm scared to show him who I am is…"
"Yeah?" Pedro could feel himself getting nervous.
"I don't… look like a celebrity. I don't look like those women in magazines. I'm not… skinny. I'm fat, and squishy… and I don't have flawless skin. I'm not… beau-"
"Stop," Pedro said.
"Sorry…" you fretted. You knew you'd push him away.
"No, no, no. Don't be sorry. But don't say to me that you aren't beautiful. Because you are. I don't even know what you look like but you're beautiful on the inside. And as far as the women in magazines? They've gone through hair and makeup and plastic surgery. They don't look perfect when you strip all that away. But you. We all have bad skin days. And you aren't defined by your body size. You may not be your own type. But for all you know, the man you are in love with might LOVE that you aren't skinny. He might love the curves and the natural beauty that you have. Not to mention that big heart of yours. You might just be his type."
You might be my type, he thought.
You were crying now. Not a sniffle, but a genuine cry. And Pedro felt as though he must have made things much worse. Until you said "thank you Pedro. I'm sorry for putting all this on your shoulders. But thank you for your words. I know that I don't like my own body and I just assume others wouldn't as well. But maybe you're right. Maybe he would love me back."
"I think he will. You just need to give him a chance to see you the way you are. You deserve to be loved as you are. He will love you back."
And if he doesn't, I think I already do. Pedro finally admitted to himself.

That's all folks! For this chapter at least. Thanks again for reading and stay tuned for more!

Pleaaaasse do you have any hc for my beautiful wife chopper Dave my sweet little British pilot
(The only British man I love)
Fuck you, I'm British >:( /light hearted
Chopper Dave general headcanons
CW: mentions of alcohol, British
He can and will cause problems on purpose, he finds it funny as hell, and has basically no fear. He's here for a fun time, not a long time.
Buddy buddy with Q-Bert, both bonded over their love for fine whiskey and the fact they're both from over the pond, even if they have petty disputes about whether England or Scotland is better. They have had physical fights over it before, but are still on good terms. Mostly.
Learned to fly just so he could be like his Dad. Plus he totally gets the best views in all of the state. Also the bomber jacket is fly as fuck (pun intended) and he loves sewing neat patches into it.
Has a photo of MPN SQ team that he keeps in his plane, they're his found family and he likes to keep the reminder close to him. He's also got pics of his real family.
Hates American candy, far too artificial in flavour, he deeply misses sweet from his home. You find some imported chocolate and give it to him, he will get misty eyed.
Once asked Chef for fish and chips, got an unbattered fish and crisps and he actually threw up from distress. God what he'd give for a proper pub meal.
Pansexual 100% He's got no preference, if you wanna romance him, he's on board no matter what you identify as, he's just happy for the company and love. Kissing him on the lips makes his knees actually weak, he will fall into your arms.
Starfish sleeper, all sprawled out, covers a mess and pillow has been yeeted to the ground. He snores a bit, but isn't too loud. Doesn't make his bed in the mornings and will probably never learn.
If romantically involved, he likes to have some part of him touching you while you both sleep. A hand on your arm/shoulder, foot on your foot/leg, you using his shoulder as a pillow, just anything to know you're still there with him :)
He's got thick arm hair, and that's about the only body hair he's got. He can't even grow a proper beard or moustache, which is sad coz he wants one of those old fashioned curly pilot ones. Not happening fam.
He's got short brown curls under his hat, which he shaves to a buzzcut now and then when its too long to handle. He has pretty poor self care, but he's happy enough.
Lil bit of chub to him, got that dad-bod vibe going on.
Drinks maybe a little too often, a chain smoker too. We've all got our vices baby, and a pack of cigs will get you all across Nevada with his whirly bird man.

Stupid pun turned sad nostalgia lol

The stars spread out in a brilliant blanket over the rocky outcropping where they sat.
Wilbur nudged him with a delighted smirk. "That one's yew." He pointed to the fish constellation above them.
Pisces snorted and snuggled against him. "You goof." He said affectionately.
Wilbur bundled him closer in his arms, preening slightly. He turned back to the sky, and his smile faded to melancholy. "Ye know," he said uncertainly. "When I was young I use'd te sneak outside at night. Go somewhar quiet an' look up thar..."
He bit down gently on the fingers of his free hand. "I thought ef I look'd hard enough I'd be able te see my father..." He caught sight of Pisces's expression and turned away. "Stupid, o'coarse. 'S not how et works."
Pisces shook his head gently and squeezed Wilbur's hand in his own. "...When I lived in the city, we couldn't see the stars. Not well, not like this. All the lights and smog blocked out the sky." He stared up at the glittering array overhead. "I had no idea they were like this."
Wilbur glanced at him and back to the stars. "D'yew ever miss et? The city, I mean."
"...I don't know. Sometimes." He said. "I mean, I grew up there. I have good memories, and sometimes I wish I hadn't left... But... I don't know if I'd go back, if I could."
Wilbur seemed to consider that for a long moment. Pisces watched him chew thoughtfully on his fingers.
"What about you?" Pisces asked. "Do you... Ever miss Dunwich?"
"Gawds, no." Wilbur flopped backwards into the grass and Pisces followed him. He frowned, fidgeting with the edge of his coat. "...I miss the woods an' the hills an' things." Wilbur mumbled. "But not the town. I miss home."
Pisces leaned against his side. "We could... Go back there, if you like. Sometime."
Wilbur furrowed his brow, thinking. "Dunno ef I'm ready fer that yet."
"Well, if you ever do feel ready," Pisces offered. "I'll go with you."
"... I'd like that." Wilbur said. "An'... Ef yew ever want te go home... I'd go with yew. Te supervise."
Pisces smiled. "Maybe someday." He nestled against Wilbur's side, staring up at the bright twinkling above them. "We have all the time in the world."

Writing prompt: "Do you want me to leave? "
~~~~~
Adrien noticed there was something wrong with Marinette. She wasn't as joyfull or bubbly as usual, she looked as thought she was bored.
When he tried talking to her she answered his questions shortly and didn't try to make conversation like she usually does. Also, she didn't even statter once.
At first he thought it had something to do with him, but he noticed that she didn't even talk to Alya. Even Chloe didn't try to make a witty remark on the bags under Marinette's eyes. She had stayed quiet, which is unusual. As though she understood what was going on.
During last period Adrien remembered who Marinette would actually talk to. A certain black cat who liked visiting her from time to time. When school was finally over he looked over to Marinette to see her gathering he things and leaving with her head down.
He grabbed Alya's shoulder before she left. "Hey, do you know what's wrong with Mari? " He asked and Alya frowned "No. She won't tell me. She keeps saying she is fine even though it's obvious that she is not and won't let me help. Sorry Adrien she won't talk to me. I don't know why. She even asked me not to go over to her place." Adrien nodded sadly and let the redhead go.
His bodyguard walked him to the car and he could not stop thinking about Marinette. He has known her for a little more that three years now and even thought he still loves Ladybug very much, he learned to get over her and move on. That was when the sweet girl with the pigtails, a girl he considered one of his best friends, his every-day-ladybug, as he once called her, made her way into his heart.
He was visiting her as chat noir and they would talk and talk for hours. They would look at the sky and the stars. She knew a lot about them, something he recently found out, they would drink hot chocolate and share a blanket when it got cold. She would comfort him and make him feel loved and accepted for exactly who he was. Not the perfect model and shy friend everyone else thinks him to be. But the funny, adventurous, clown he really is. She would even laugh at his silly cat puns sometimes.
He thought back to the first time he realised he was in love with her.
---
It was just a normal day at school for him. No akuma attacks, no sudden explosions or anything of the kind. Just a normal, boring school day when he heard Kim talking to Max.
"Oh please! Ladybug is doing all the work, Chat Noir is just a useless idiot who makes mistakes and hold her back." He said naming Adrien's biggest fear. That he was useless, that Ladybug didn't need him. That he was holding her back. That he was vulnerable.
He looked around to find Marinette looking a second before realising smoke from her ears. Face red, if looks could kill Marinette would have tortured, brutally killed, brought back to life and killed him again. Alya was holding her arm like if she let go Mari would attack Kim like a rabid dog.
"I mean what kind of idiot almost gets his partner killed, and himself?! He is the worst partner anyone could have. He only brings bad luck. She would be better off without him, or she should at least look for a better partner." Kim said chuckling. Adrien wanted to crawl away and cry like a stray baby cat who had been hit by a bus and survived.
He almost missed the blue-black haired girl that was making her way to Kim angrily.
"EXCUSE ME?!?! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?! LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR ARE EQUALS IF NOT HE IS BETTER!!!! HE MAY HAVE MADE A FEW MISTAKES BUT SHE HAS TOO. HE HAS SAVED HER LIFE MULTIPLE TIMES PUTTING HIS AT RISK WITHOUT HESITATION!!! SHE MAY BE ABLE TO PURIFY THE AKUMAS BUT SHE WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO DEFEAT THE VILLAINS ON HER OWN!!! SHE WOULD BE DEAD THE MOMENT SHE EVEN TRIED TO TAKE THEM DOWN ON HER OWN!!!!! HE IS AN AMAZINGLY KIND PERSON WITH THE BIGGEST HEART, HE IS SINCERE, HE IS GENEROUS, HE IS BRAVE, HE IS THE GREATEST PARTNER SHE COULD HAVE EVER ASKED FOR!!! SHE IS THE ONE THAT DOESN'T DESERVE HIM!!! SHE WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT HIM!!! IT IS SAD HOW EVERYONE IS LOOKING AT HER WHEN HE IS THE ONE GETTING THE HITS AND RISKING HIS LIFE TO SAVE US!! SHE WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITHOUT HIM!!! AND DON'T YOU DARE SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT ABOUT HIM EVER AGAIN!! YOU DON'T KNOW HIM!!! "
Adrien was sure the whole of Paris had heard her. He could stop smiling and blushing at what she had said. Did she really think that. He was close enough to hear Lila day something like "Of course trash likes trash. The most useless person on the planet would of course like the useless superhero. " He was so close to hissing at her. Like she had insulted something of his. But since when did he consider Marinette his?
He passed by her house that night to find her on her balcony curled up in a blanket holding two cups of hot chocolate. Waiting for him.
"Hello purrr-ncess. How are you in this lovely day? " He asked making an overly dramatic bow. She rolled her eyes at him playfully. "Why it had been great my kind knight. " She slightly bowed her head at him playing along.
He sat beside her, taking a sip, looking at his feet. "So, I was passing by your school.. And I heard an argument you had with K-a guy. I've been meaning to ask. Did you mean all that princess? " He hesitantly asked. Marinette turned around to look at him. She put her chocolate at the small table and cuped his face with both her hands making him look at her. "Of course I did. Every word." He averted his eyes "I didn't think I would actually matter to someone that's all. "
"You matter Kitty. You matter to a lot of people. You matter to me. " She said making him look at her shocked. He noticed how her eyes where a piercing blue in the moonlight, impossible not to notice them sparkling. Her eyes sparkle when she talks about something that she loves. He saw how her hair looked almost midnight blue when light hit them. He saw her smile. A smile that was for him. A smile he said to himself that he wanted to see everyday.
She kissed his cheek and hugged him. He felt his pulse quickening, he felt warm and at peace. Like he wanted to hold her forever. To freeze time. That was when he knew. He knew that girl was a criminal, she had stolen his heart.
---
With Marinette
"I'm tired Tikky. I'm so so tired. I can't do this anymore it's too much!! " Marinette was sobbing on her bed. She was just so sick of everything. Having to deal with school, being ladybug, being a guardian, having to lie to everyone around her. She feels like she lost her entire life. It has been three years! She was 17 going to 18. She feels as though her life ended three and a half years ago. She has lost her sleep.
Tikky was trying to comfort her any way possible but all Marinette wanted was to be left alone. On top of everything she had to deal with moving on from Adrien and her broken heart, her newfound feelings for chat noir, her «break up» with Luka and getting fed up with all the romance crap.
She was still crying softly when she heard someone tapping on her window. "Princess? " She heard Chat's voice. She remembered he promised to come by. After a minute without an answer he knocked again. "Princess?... If you don't answer in the next minute I'm coming in." He said.
Tikky begged Marinette with her eyes. She could almost hear the creature saying 'you need to talk to someone.'
She heard her window open. Apparently it had been a minute and he was worried. He thought something had happened to her. He saw her curled up on her bed her back facing him. "Princess?" He asked.
"Chat don't-dont look at me.. " She already felt insecure and her, well, maybe, crush seeing her a crying mess was not something she liked. "Why princess I bet you look beautiful, like you always do." He complimented. She didn't know that he actually ment it. That he thought she was the most beautiful girl he had ever layed his eyes on. That every time she had her hair down during the nights he visited it took his breath away every time. That he thought she had the most beautiful smile that could light up an entire room. That he thought everything about her was beautiful.
He went closer to her bed while she hesitantly turned. And slightly sat up not looking at him. "Really? " She asked. She felt like such a little girl. Vulnerable. She felt disgusting like she was fishing for compliments. She is ladybug dammit. She doesn't need anyone to tell her she is pretty.
He cuped her face the way she had that night. The night he knew. He looked into her eyes and whispered "beautiful." Her slightly red nose and puffy glossy eyes gave away that she was crying. Yet he thought she looked amazing. He wiped her tears and placed his forehead against hers "what's wrong princess? " She started crying again and hugged him tightly.
"In just so tired chat. It's just too much. The responsibility is too much I can't deal with it. Everything is in the air! Nothing is in order. Nothing has a program. I am 17 and a half Chat! I've been doing this for three and a half years!! I've been lying to everyone for three and a half years. I'm saying I'm fine but I'm not chat. I'm not at all. I just want it all to stop. I just want to be alone.I can't do this chat. I'm not strong enough. "
Chat felt something inside him break. The girl that he thought was one of the strongest people he knew just broke into his chest. He didn't know what she was talking about him but he didn't really care. She would tell him when she was ready. Part of him wanted to comfort her. To keep her in his arms and let her know that it was okay to feel like this. But after the words 'I just want to be alone. ' he could help but think he was included so when she broke the hug he had to ask.
"Do you want me to leave? "
She looked at his through her lashes she didn't speak for a moment and he got nervous. He didn't want to leave her in a state like this. "No. No I don't. Please stay.. " She said. She looked tired. "I am. " He reassured her "when was the last time you slept? " He asked "I actually don't remember. " She answered and automatically yawned.
He layed her down and cuddled her. "Sleep princess. I am here now. " He whispered. She rubbed his chest making him purr. How did she know exactly how to do that? He would not find out. And frankly he didn't care. All he cared about was the sleeping girl in his arms. The girl he once thought as just a very good friend. Now he felt like an idiot. All that mattered was that she was in his arms. He would do anything to help her feel better. He didn't care about the cost.
He only cared that he was asleep with the girl he loved.
If only he knew she felt the exact same way...
Indruck hunt nsfw!!! I'm so excited you're doing fills again, they're always so good!
Thanks so much, and here you go! Duck’s form is based on a Green Wrasse, and Indrid’s is based on a Flamboyant Cuttlefish.
Go along the trenches they said. It’ll be easy they said.
Duck’s been here for two hours, trawling the spot where the sea bed and reef give way to deeper water in search of black moon oysters. It’s courting season in Kepler, and if he can find a few he’s certain at least one of the two mers he has his eyes on will agree to a date. But at this rate, he’ll be bringing some of his model ships as his gifts for his first year of courting, and that’ll be embarrassing. No one wants to date a mer with such a boring hobby.
So here he is, far from where most reef mers would even think to come, searching for a shellfish notorious for it’s shadowy color. At least there aren’t any deep sea mers around to see him repeatedly get hissed at by the same eel because he keeps losing his bearings and checking crevasses he already searched. He’d rather not have an audience.
---------------------------------------------
Indrid cannot believe his luck. Weeks of hunting, of hunger, with barely any food to be found, and now a tantalizing, green tail dangles near his hide away. No mer in these parts has such coloration, so it must be a very big fish indeed.
His foresight is half-obliterated, so he must rely on skill to earn his prey. He camouflages as best he can along the rockface, creeping along beneath the ledge where the tail keeps disappearing and reappearing. If he lunges too soon, he’ll miss and scare off dinner.
Almost...almost…
He pushes up in a burst of speed, grabs the tail, and propels back into his lair, his prey putting up a remarkable fight. He doesn’t notice his error until it punches him in the eye.
“OW!!”
“What the fuck?” The merman spins, lashing out again but missing him in the dark.
“I, I am so very sorry, I thought you were a fish!”
“I look like a damn fish?” His unwilling guest gestures angrily at his upper body.
Because his eyes are adapted to dark water, Indrid can clearly see the muscles in his arms, the round belly and charming face. Now he wants to sink his teeth into him in an entirely new way.
Oh, right, he’s waiting for an answer.
“From down here you did. I assumed all reef mers stayed far away, and thus missed the obvious explanation for the size of your tail. I, ah, am not the sharpest when starving.”
The wary, annoyed expression softens, “Ain’t there food down here?”
“Yes, but it’s fast, poisonous, or fought over, and I’d like to keep all my tentacles attached to me.”
The merman points at the cave ceiling, “The reef is just up there. We got plenty to eat.”
“Oh no, I couldn’t, they’d recognize me as a deep water mer and be frightened.”
“I could vouch for you. Assumin you don’t plan on grabbin anyone else.”
“Of course not” He flicks all his tentacle tips, trying to hide how hurt he is by the suggestion.”
“Then you can be my guest. There’s a festival tonight, so the grub oughta be good.”
“You mean it?”
“Yep.” He nods, black hair swirling around his forehead.
“Thank you so very much! I, is there something I can do to repay you?”
“Well…”
He mentally crosses all fingers and tentacles, hoping for an answer along the lines of “kiss me” or “hold my hand on the way there” and he flickers his lower body an appealing yellow to sweeten the deal.
“...you got any clue where to find black moon oysters?”
“Yes” he cocks his head, “why?”
“Wanna give ‘em as a present to some mers tonight.”
“Ohhhh” Indrid nods, understanding and trying to hide his disappointment, “a courtship gift. Of course, right this way…Duck.”
The mer starts, “How’d you-”
“-Know your name? Foresight, though it’s severely diminished right now. He smiles, holds out his hand, “I’m Indrid. Now, let us find you those oysters.”
---------------------------------------------------
Duck never expected a deep sea mer to be so chatty, but as they weave their way between rocks in search of their quarry, Indrid talks amicably about all manner of things, often swimming backwards so he can ask Duck questions about his life on the reef. Listens intently as Duck tells him about his time studying coral health, demanding details as they float across a deeper trench.
Still, Duck feels like he’s not carrying his conversational weight, and when Indrid peers into another empty crag he asks, “hey Indrid, what kind of fish only comes out at night?”
The other mer blinks his glowing red eyes, “What kind?”
“A starfish.”
A slower blink, and then Indrid snickers, “I didn’t know we were in the pun timeline.”
“Sorry, know it’s silly-”
“Why was the shark worried after eating a clownfish?” Indrid wiggles his tentacles.
Duck smiles, “no idea.”
“Because it tasted funny!”
He giggles, “that was awful.”
“Precisely!” Indrid beams, then pulls Duck flush against the cliff-face. In the darkness beneath them, he can just make out something immense swimming along the trench. Indrid doesn’t release him until it’s out of sight.
“Apologies, but there was a non-zero chance of that being an aggressive shark.”
“Glad you were here watchin my ba--holy fuck!”
Only Indrid’s eyes are the color they were a moment before. The rest of him, even his hair,  is the same speckled grey of the rocks.
“Indrid that’s, that’s incredible! I know mers who can color change a little, but nothin like this.”
“It’s mainly for survival purposes, but I am glad you, ah, you like it” Indrid returns to his usual color, save for his tentacles, which flash pink on their way back to silvery-blue.
“Can you control it?”
“To a degree; some of it is subconscious expression of emotion, but much of the time I can manipulate it as I need. See?” He holds one tentacle out in front of Duck’s tail, matching it perfectly.
“That’s so fuckin cool.”
“I, ah, would be happy to show you some more” the pink flashes are back, “but first…” he pulses up to small ledge, slips three tentacles inside, and retracts them with a flourish a moment later, each hold a pitch black oyster, “let’s get you to your party.”
---------------------------------------------------
In spite of there being no timelines where Duck reneges on his end of the deal, Indrid remains nervous most of the way into town. Then the other mer stops, reaches into a stand of kelp and produces a scallop, “here, you were hungry when we met and you put off eatin to help me, seems only fair to get you a snack before you get there.”
Indrid grins, rips open the shell, and downs the mollusc in what he hopes isn’t a completely horrifying way. It’s been so long since someone shared a catch with him.
“Do you still want to see more camouflage?”
“Hell yeah.”
They pass the rest of the journey to the town square with Indrid changing color, the two of them laughing as Duck comes up with increasingly ridiculous things for him to match. He adds in extra effects, hoping to dazzle Duck, and he’s having so much fun he’s almost sad to arrive at the party.
Then he sees the buffet, and it’s difficult to be that upset. Better still, Duck doesn’t immediately leave him in search of his potential lovers. Instead he guides Indrid to a cluster of other mers his age. Juno, Aubrey, and Dani all welcome him into conversation and help him navigate some of the unfamiliar foods Duck gathers from the large stone tables.
Deep sea mer courtship is very goal focused, but up here the custom seems to be unhurried, as much a chance to catch up with friends as find a mate. There’s even dancing, which he’s drawn into when Aubrey coaxes Duck onto the dance floor and the merman offers Indrid his hand. They spin and flit about each other, Indrid initially taking care not to brush him with his tentacles. When it happens on accident and Duck responds by thwacking Indrid back with the tip of his tail, Indrid takes to touching him whenever the dance allows.
Since none of the reef mers swim screaming away from him, he and Duck even join in on the group dances. Indrid shows off, changing colors to match his partner because he catches Duck smiling whenever he does.
The first of Duck’s crushes arrives, though Duck stays, dancing, with Indrid.
“Are you supposed to wait until a certain time to offer your gift?”
“No. I, uh, I’m just a little nervous. I’ve never done the whole courtin thing before.”
“Understandable. Though if you ask me, I’d say you have a great deal to offer.” He nudges him with a tentacle. Duck takes a deep breath, then swims away after the other mer. Indrid hasn’t even made it to the table when Duck is once again beside him, saying they weren’t interested and would Indrid like to keep dancing?
He would, and they do, trading jokes and stories as they turn in slow circles around each other. They alternate between the dance and recharging with their friends until Duck’s other crush swims into view, having gotten to the party rather late. Duck’s approach is more confident, and Indrid encourages him along with the others. After ten or so minutes, Duck catches his eye and gives a thumbs up. Indrid returns the gesture and watches that stunning tail swim away.
Indrid stays, continues talking and eating with his new friends. He’s even approached for courtship twice, demurring both times. It’s not long before he regrets this choice, because his foresight keeps showing him flashes of what Duck is getting up to with his new partner and getting his hands and mouth on another mer might be a welcome distraction. He finishes the last of his meal, waves goodbye to his friends with a promise to come see them again, and swims home alone.
----------------------------------------------------
Duck hums as he swims over the edge of the trench, carved coral box in hand. Indrid left Dani directions for how to visit him, so Duck’s no longer concerned about swimming into the wrong cave and getting eaten.
The front of the cave is empty, and the scant light still filtering in doesn’t show him much beyond it, so he floats further and calls, “Indrid? You home?”
Red eyes appear in the dark, followed by flashes of pink and yellow, “Duck?”
“Didn’t see me comin?” He grins, swimming up to greet the other mer.
“There were only a few futures where you visited so soon after the party. Is something wrong? Does your new partner need more oysters?”
“Nope, came ‘cause I wanted to see you. Is, uh, is that okay?” Nerves creep up his tail; maybe Indrid was only interested in their exchange yesterday and not in him.
“Of course. I, ah, my lair is rather messy but if you come this way I have some lights.” He motions for Duck to follow him. As they swim deeper into the cave, bioluminescent kelp and algae flicker to life, revealing walls covered in elegant, detailed carvings. They turn left, coming to a room filled with yet more carvings, a large, comfy looking hammock, and a floor scattered with shells.
“You did all these?” Duck touches a lovingly rendered carving of a ray.
“Yes. They help me capture visions from time to time, or are simply images I enjoy.” That same light pink is coursing up through his tentacles and occasionally racing through his hair.
“Oh, that reminds me, here” Duck holds out the box, “seemed like these were your favorite last night, so figured you’d like some more.”
Indrid studies the crab rolls in their neat lines, “Oooh!” His tentacles wiggle, “thank you. That was very sweet of you.” He swims over to a small table, sets the box atop it, and then begins searching a rock shelf. “But I insist you share some of them with me, assuming you don’t have anywhere to be.”
“Uh-”
“Where are those blasted plates-”
Duck rubs the back of his neck, “Indrid?  Is, uh, is that a yes or a no?”
The other mer turns, flashing bright blue, “To...oh, oh my, really?”
“Future just tell you I’m courtin you?”
“Yes. I, but I thought you made your choice last night?”
“That ain’t really how this works. I mean, I had a great time last night, might see her again, but I ain’t made any kind of choice about bein exclusive. Besides uh, I, uh, if I’m bein honest, mer I thought the most about last night and today was you.”
“Oh.” Indrid says much more softly as Duck swims to him and brushes his tail along a tentacle.
“It’s okay if you ain’t interested, I can back off and we can have dinnerAHfuck” he laughs as Indrid uses all available limbs to pull him closer with a delighted chirp.
“The answer is very much yes, Duck Newton.”
“Thank fuck” Duck leans in, kissing him eagerly as two tentacles tease up and down his tail.
Then he can’t see a fucking thing and Indrid curses, “Of all the time for my kelpalabra to die. One moment, let me find something so you can see.” He pulls back, red eyes and kaleidoscopic lower half the only thing in Duck’s vision, achingly alluring even as he mutters around the room.
“We, uh, we can keep it like this.”
“You’re certain? I thought you couldn’t see in these conditions.”
“Can see what matters.” Duck opens his arms and Indrid chuckles, swimming into them.
“I’m amazed you were not swarmed by admirers last night.”
“Flatterer” Duck kisses his cheek.
“I am being entirely truthful. You are so charming, and so very handsome…” Indrid strokes his face as his tentacles glide up his chest and down his tail, “mmmm, I’ve wanted to do this since the moment I saw you.”
“How, uh, sensitive are these?” Duck lets one tentacle curl around his fingers, brings it to his mouth for a kiss.
“About the same as my hands, but far more flexible.” Two tease just below his hips, his scales beginning to ripple and part at the stimulation. The surrounding darkness heightens each grope and stroke, his body having little to no warning of where the next touch might come from. His world is nothing but Indrid’s hands and tentacles on his body, that little voice and moonlight smile illuminated by the colors of his affection.
“Fuck, ‘Drid, this is so fuckin nice.”
Indrid hums, pulsing a warm yellow as he coaxes Duck open, kissing his neck and nibbling his ears. Duck winds his fingers into his silver hair, gives a testing tug and gets a moan in reply.
“Again.”
He growls, pulls harder as his cock emerges, scrapes his teeth up Indrid’s neck and discovers that makes him practically scream in delight.
“You wanna be in me, or should I fuck you?”
“Ah, beg pardon?”
“Wait, fuck, do you not have-”
“I have this” smaller tendrils emerge from beneath a fold between his front tentacles, “there isn’t really room for anything to go in, and while I can get some shape from it” he demonstrates by twining three into something close to Duck’s dick, “it is unlikely to be the method you’re used to. My kind mate by sort of, hmm, mushing them together? My, that sounds deeply unattractive when I say it that way.”
Duck licks his lips, “They look pretty damn dexterous.”
Indrid’s eyes glow brighter, “The are.”
“Get over here and show me.”
The other mer comes to him so forcefully they’re propelled back into a wall. Duck barely registers the collision, too busy moaning as tendrils curl around his dick, stroking and sucking so elegantly he’s pretty sure he’s never going to be satisfied with a blowjob again.
Okay, except for one form the mouth currently devouring his own with kisses. Indrid moans and squirms in his arms, tentacle and fingertips caressing him from cheek to tail.
“May, may I try something?” Indrid pants in his ear.
“Long as you don’t stop what you’re already doin, ohfuck,” He bucks his hips as more tendrils push into the slit under his dick, Indrid purring as they do.
“Ohhhhhgoodness, you feel wonderful Duck, please, please say we can do this again?”
“Damn, ain’t even made you cum and you’re already beggin for a next time?” Duck teases, kissing the corner of his mouth.
“Yes, pleaseplease” tentacles tighten around him, trapping him against Indrid as the other mer frantically fucks him, “I’ll can make you feel so good, I want to, please”
“Mission fuckin accomplished” Duck yanks on his hair and Indrid yelps with joy, cumming inside him and across his dick. The orgasm makes him lose control of both his colors and his tendrils, meaning he shimmers like the inside of an abalone as tugs and twitches along Duck’s dick. The touches draw his own climax from him with a groan, and he buries his face in Indrid’s neck, mouthing kisses along it as he spills into the water.
Slowly, all tentacles and tendrils relax and withdraw, leaving only Indrid’s arms around him.
“You asleep?” It’s only half a joke, as Indrid is going limp.
‘Mmmhmm. A perfectly wonderful mer just robbed me of all my energy in the best possible way.”
“Heh, funny, most stunnin mer in the ocean did the same to me.” He swims them over to the hammock, guiding them down onto their sides as Indrid looks sleepily up at him.
“In that case, would the wonderful mer like to join me for dinner after we nap?”
Duck kisses his nose, nestles closer as Indrid’s tentacles shift to match his tail, “Yeah, he would.”
Trigger warning:
Rating: Explicit/smut
A/N This piece is my part of the Citrus Dome Fairy Tale Collab I hope you can enjoy!! <3 <3. loosely based on the little mermaid with a few twists of my own.
Tumblr media
Swimming through the colourful coral, fishes of many colours dance around you with a flick of your long fishlike tail you race against the playful dolphins. Growing up with many different animals, from the mighty blue whales to the small octopuses that roam the seafloor.
After racing the dolphins you made your way to the warm lagoon safe from the predators in the deeper parts of the sea. You hoist yourself up on a warm rock the sound of the waves lulling you to a peaceful nap.
Finally waking up from your nap it was a late evening where the sun is setting, stretching your arms and back you happen to spot something in the distance that seemed to be getting closer, then realizing it’s a human ship. Full of curiosity you quickly swam towards the boat, as you got closer the sound of music and singing was heard from the deck.
Then you saw him, his golden hair moved slightly with the wind, you couldn’t take your eyes off him. He was leaning over the railing looking over the vast water with a peaceful smile on his face. “Hey Mirio please be careful we don’t want you to go overboard” a voice called out to the golden-haired man.
The man named Mirio gave a belly laugh and then spoke “But look at this view, you can’t get it anywhere else”, waves gently hitting the boat as Mirio looked back towards the sea. Before you could leave the surface, baby blue eyes quickly look into your eyes, “oh shit im done for”. You thought.
Quickly looking away from his eyes, you swim down into the ocean leaving nothing but your late mother’s necklace, thankfully you reach your home unscathed but the young man’s eyes replay in your mind and your heart beats like a drum.
The next morning you went out and looked for the ship till later in the afternoon, you came across a beach and a silhouette of a man, walking toward the edge of the dock looking out at sea. You were unsure of how to get his attention without exposing yourself,
“Damn what to do, what to do? I can just swim up to him and say hello I'm a mermaid please be my mate.” lost in thought you unknowingly were discovered again by the golden-haired man looking directly in your direction.
His eyes widened at the sight of seeing you again, he smiled brightly “Hey it’s you again!!” he enthusiastically waved. “Should I go over to him? Or not?” so then you ultimately decided to swim over while trying to hide your lower half within the water.
So you shyly approached him then softly spoke in a shy voice “H-hello…” “Hey there im Mirio Togata” he smiled “my name is Y/n” you replied with your own smile, “Do you live around here? And do you live alone?” he questioned while tapping his index finger against the wooden dock.
“Well...I sorta live nearby, i have two older sisters but they have their own families to tend to” Mirio’s eyes widen at your explanation, “but it does get lonely once in a while” you continued with a look of sadness, Mirio noticed where the conversation was heading he quickly changed topics. Eventually, it was time to go home so Mirio bid you goodbye till tomorrow then once he was out of sight you finally were able to move your tail from an uncomfortable position and made your way back into the sea.
It’s been a few days since your first meeting with Mirio, every day now you’ve seen him at the old wooden dock so shortly after you trusted him enough to tell him that you were a mermaid, was he surprised? Yes, amazed? Definitely, thankfully for you, he was pretty nonjudgmental about it. “What’s it like swimming with the whales,” he asks with a bright smile, you giggled at his enthusiasm to learn more about you, “it’s magical, it’s almost unimaginable,” Mirio noticed you had a dreamy look in your eyes as you talked about your life under the sea, he couldn’t help his heart from hammering in his chest.
His stomach was full of butterflies and every thought always lead to you when you were away from him, so he decided that today was the day he will confess to you but his family had other plans, on his way out to you he was stopped by his family butler “Master Mirio your father requests you should see him.”
Suppressing a groan he begrudgingly agreed to see his father, once at his father’s study he lightly knocked on the oak door. A voice was heard from the other side of the door slowly he entered the study revealing his father looking out at the sea through his window. Mirio spoke first “You wanted to see me, father?” his father turns to face him “ Yes, i wanted to tell you since you just passed your 20th birthday, I’ve taken the liberty to arrange your marriage” Mirio was shocked that he had to marry someone who he didn’t love, so with that, he angrily left the study and towards your meeting spot.
It was unusual to be at the old dock before Mirio, you started to wonder where he was till you saw Mirio walking angrily towards the docks, "hey sunshine what got your frown upside down?" you playfully teased him, "Please not now Y/n" he rubbed his face and sat down onto the dock with his legs dangling down, barely touching the water.
"Talk to me Mirio what's wrong?" with a stern look in your eye's, pleading with him to open up to you, with a sigh he finally relents "My father just gave me the news that I will be marrying someone who i do not love" he explained, you felt your heart drop at the news, thoughts running wild wondering if you really missed your chance to be with him.
"I wish I can escape my marriage" he rubbed his neck, but then an idea popped into your head as he was ranting, steeling your nerves you firmly spoke "Mirio I might have an idea" his eyes lit up at the fact of you being able to help him. "But are you sure that you want to leave your home behind?" you questioned him, he thinks for a moment then nods "Yes, I don't want a life like that, I want to adventure and see the sights from different countries" he takes your hands into his "I don't want to be without you" he places a gentle kiss on your knuckles, your face is bright red "I don't want to be without you either" you confessed.
You move your hand to rest on his cheek, rubbing his cheek with your thumb with love and tenderness, in your heart you knew you two were meant to be. "Mirio, kiss me please" he quickly pulled you into a passionate kiss, your hands were around his neck then using your strength you pulled him into the shallow water.
Mario's hands roamed your body, memorizing every inch of flesh and scale, he pulls you closer while deepening the kiss. Till you felt something hard poking along your cloaca, you pull back from the kiss, embarrassment was apparent across your face, "Um, Mirio? your manhood is poking me" nervously he glanced down to where you were talking about
No matter how hard he tries to hide his erection, his face is bright red, you couldn't help but giggle at his face since you rarely get to see him so flustered. Slowly you moved your hand from his neck to his erection, applying enough pressure to his penis to make him moan slightly.
You take his hand in yours, you lead him into deeper cooler water, now the water is past his stomach but not yet at his chest, pushing yourself under the water your hand’s grip Mirio’s pants, with your strength, you easily ripped off his pants to reveal his already hard member.
To say you were surprised was an understatement, you hadn’t seen such a thing in all your life you were literally drooling at his size and girth. Feeling brave, you opened your mouth wide enough to try to fit his large member, swallowing it halfway, choking slightly as it hit the back of your throat. "Feels so good. Y/n please don't stop" mirio moans and starts to buck his hips further into your mouth, using your tongue to wrap around his girth, sadly for him he was nearing his climax so you stopped.
Mirio looked at you with a small pout, "why did you stop?" You couldn't help but to giggle at the face he was making, pulling yourself up from beneath the water wrapping your arms around his neck again, "I want you in me" you say bluntly with love in your eyes.
Nodding at your demand mirio aligns himself to your opening, it's head rubbing slightly outside "please hurry" you pitifully asked him, he slams into your hole at a rapid pace, "your taking me so good, y/n your so tight" he holds you closer, he leans down capturing your moans with a kiss.
With one final hard thrust the both of you climax together his seed spilling into you, then something magical happened slowly the water engulfed him in a blinding light, his legs were now a beautiful fish-like tail and scale along the side of his abdomen, the light finally went away revealing Mirio as a merperson.
"Mirio" you spoke softly and cupped his cheek "we are one now" he smiles "forever my love"
