Stiles chewed on the edge of his pencil. Gaze low and his shoulders slumped as he gazed at you from across the room. Lydia sat next to him, messing with some of the test tubes while his attention was elsewhere. She peered over at him from the corner of her eye.

The glumness was practically spilling out of him. Lydia eyed his bouncing leg and hunched over stature. She then looked up to his eyes and followed his gaze. Landing on you and Isaac, a few tables away. Your body shook lightly as a hand covered your mouth. However you then threw your head back, laughter escaping you when Isaac whispered something in your ear. Mr. Harris scolded you both from his spot at his desk. You apologized a few giggles still escaping you.Lydia then looked back to Stiles noting how his body tensed at your response. 

Her brows furrowed, connecting the dots silently in her head. She pursed her lips, officially turning in Stiles' direction and placing her chin in her palm. He didn't notice at first. Rolling her eyes Lydia kicked his shin gently. Stiles jumped in his spot. His head snapping in her direction. Once his had settled down he finally spoke.

"Yeah?" Lydia motioned the various chemicals and beakers in front of them.

"You gonna keep staring at her Romeo or are you going to actually get some work done." Stiles squinted at the glass bottles. Then peered over them to look back at you. Hand on Isaac's head, shoving him away lightly. Once steady again he bumped his shoulder with your making you stumble in your own spot.

Stiles' gaze turned into glare. Lydia watched as his eye line met you and she scoffed, slapping his arm. Once again his head turned to her directions.

"Don't you guys literally sit next to each other, next class? Can't you stare at her then? I'd like to finish up and start the homework early, thanks." Stiles dismissed her claim.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he muttered. Lydia rolled her eyes, almost seeing her brain in the back of her head in the process.

"You reek of jealousy." His head perked up.

"Jealous? Jealous of what? I have nothing to be jealous about? Who are we even talking about?" he rambled. Lydia slapped her hands down on the table in defeat. Contemplating life to herself then deciding either he was going to admit it or she was going to die trying to get him to.

"Just say you're in love with her. It'll make everyone's life easier." Stiles' brows furrowed farther.

"Who?" Lydia gestured in your direction. Stiles watched as her finger landed on you. Instantly his eyes widened into saucers.

"Y/n? No way-"

"Everyone sees how you look at her, Stiles," Lydia cut him off. "It's so obvious. Well apparently obvious to everyone but you and her." Stiles shook his head.

"There's nothing that's obvious. I don't like Y/n. Plus you literally know that I like-"

"Me?" Lydia quirked a brow. "No you don't. Maybe in the past at one point. But for as far as I'm concerned right now with your little pouty mood and constant glaring over in her direction when Isaacs around… It's clear as day who you have feelings for. You just need to wake up and realize it for yourself." 

He bit his lip. Stiles peaked a look in your direction once more. Watching as you practically gave Isaac heart eyes as a smile graced your features. A pit of poison bubbled in his stomach. Remembering all the times he wished you looked at him like that. But those were just in the moment, right? He liked Lydia, and has liked her for years. 

But the confidence in that statement slowly dribbled away when your gaze met his. Eyes shining, smile growing impossibly bigger as you looked over at him. You waved lightly which he gave a small smile in return. You didn't have time to think much about his odd response since Isaac tapped your side. 

You snapped your head back to him. Taking the beakers he was passing to you, his fingers brushing against yours. The poison slowly boiled up while Stiles clenched his jaw at the action. However his attention was caught elsewhere when a throat cleared beside him.

"You were saying?" Lydia asked sarcastically. Stiles sighed in defeat.

"Even if I did like her- which I don't… she obviously has someone else in mind so it's not worth it. And, we've been friends since we were diapers. I'm not gonna ruin what we have over some stupid little crush." 

"What if she wants to ruin it?" Lydia interjected. Trying to not bring up the fact of at the last sleepover you had, you were fawning over Stiles and how you loved his scrawny little body. Her face scrunched up at the memory subconsciously.

He didn't respond.

"Like I said, she obviously wants someone else. It's not worth ruining what we have," he mumbled, finally looking over the different chemicals. Grabbing the instructions from across the table and reading over them. 

Lydia looked over at you one more time. Catching you looking over at the helpless boy beside her, longingly. You caught her eyes and shrunk away at being caught. She bit her lip, containing a smile as you looked at her sheepishly. Isaac turned to you as your attention was elsewhere.

 He followed you line of vision, looked at Stiles then back to you. A teasing smile took over his features as he went to poke fun at you. You squirmed away. Lydia laughed quietly to herself. Stiles eyed her in question.

"What?" He asked. She dismissed his question with the wave of her hand.

"You don't know if she feels the same or not. What's the worse that could happen?"

"She rejects me and ignores me for the rest of out lives." She rolled her eyes once more.

"Do you really think that that's going to ruin everything? After everything you've gone through together? You said it yourself, you've been friends since diapers. If she doesn't feel the same it's not going to break you guys apart or whatever you're worried about. She could feel the same, Stiles. All you have to do is grow a pair to find out." Stiles went to respond but was stopped by the bell. Both of them cleaned up quickly while Harris said that if they didn't finish it was fine. They had tomorrow to finish up. "If you don't try, you won't know," Lydia stated while she picked up her things and took her leave. He paused in his step. A war fighting inside him. Contemplating his next course of action.

"You ready?" You asked, stepping beside him. He looked over to you, scanning over you then nodding. Your brows furrowed at his lack of response. "Are you doing okay today? You've been kinda quiet."

"Yeah I'm good," he responded. Stiles held the door for you as you entered the hallway. You hummed in response, eyeing the boy in your peripheral. His body stiff as he seemed lost in his own thoughts.

"You'd tell me if somethings bothering you right." Stiles looked over to you, taking in your concerned features. His words caught in his throat with your stare.

"There's nothing that'll split us up right?" he blurted out. Your eyes widened lightly.

"Um, yeah. Ill always be here for you Stiles, you know that. Is everything okay-"

"I'm gonna say something that I'll probably regret, but like you said, you'll always be with me right?" He stopped in his place, halting you in your spot as well. Students moved and passed around.

"Always, now what-"

"I think I'm in love with you." His words were jumbled. Your brows shot up to the ceiling, jaw slacking as his heart sunk down into his stomach.

"E-excuse me?" you questioned. His lip trembled slightly as his voice wavered.

"I-I think I'm in l-love with you, Y/n. I think I have for a while-”

“You think?-”

“It's okay if you hate me now. I ruined everything I know but I just had to tell you. I thought maybe there was a chance that you… never mind cause you don't. That's okay-"

"Stiles-"

"I mean we've been friends forever and all of a sudden I want to change it all."

"St-" 

"I'm really sorry about all this. I'm so sorry-" a hand clamped over his mouth.

"Stiles, can you please calm down for a moment?” you all but shouted at him. His eyes were wide as he let a breath out through his nose. Slowly you took away your hand. He anxiously scanned your face trying to find some sort of answer. He spoke once again, voice cracking but it wasn't jumbled.

“I knew you liked Isaac. I know you do, I just…” he trailed off as a rather disapproving expression took over your features. You tilted your head and quirked a brow at him.

“Isaac? Really? You really think I like… Isaac?” His stuttered out his words, confused by your response.

“Y-yeah, I thought with all the giggling you two do, you liked-” your laughter cut him off as you shook your head. 

“Oh gosh, Stiles. Lydia’s right, you are the most clueless man out there. I don't like Isaac, dummy. It’s you Stiles. It’s always been you. You’re the one I like. Have for a while now.” Stiles’ mouth opened and closed like a fish. You let out a breathy chuckle, looking down at your feet. “Ever since 7th grade year when there was that stupid middle school dance. Nobody was doing anything besides shuffling their feet and looking at each other awkwardly. You said you had enough, pulled me up, and took me to the middle of the dance floor and just started busting it down like an absolute dork.” You took a step forward, catching Stiles’ hand in yours. “By the end of the night my stomach hurt from all the laughing and my feet hurt from the amount of jumping we did. But none of it mattered cause at the end of the night when your dad brought me home. You kissed my cheek when I went to leave. I was smiling like an idiot up the driveway the whole time because I realized that I wanted you Stiles. More than a friend or best friend. I wanted you.”

His palms were sweaty as your fingers ran over his knuckles.

“You want me?” His voice was quiet. You took another step forward, your chest almost touching him.

“Mhm, always have, always will.” A smile gradually grew on his face as a breath of relief left him.

“Thank god. If you didn’t it would have been so awkward between us it’s not even funny-”

“You gonna kiss me yet Stilinski? I thought that was already scheduled after the whole ‘forever and always’ thing.” His brows shot up.

“K-kiss? Right now? In the middle of the hallway-” you rolled your eyes playfully before cupping his face in your hands. Giving him enough time to pull away if he wanted to before connecting his lips to yours. A small ‘hmph’ left him, body stiffening while his hands shot up. Slowly Stiles relaxed, bringing them back down to place on your waist. 

A smile grew on your lips as his fingers traced your hips lightly. Pulling away you took in his features. Him smiling like an idiot. You couldn't really talk though as your expression mirrored his.

I read some of your previous answers regard fanfic and shipping and I don't get it, is Sasuita really more popular than Itasasu? Itachi is dom, always. Why this important concept hard for some to grasp? I dislike Sasuita dynamics tho, it feel so unrealistic.

YES. I could have posted this without adding anything because I totally agree with it.

(long anti-sas*ita post under the cut. It’s my own opinion about my own experience with this ship, it’s on my own blog, and it’s tagged. the ship name is written entirely so it might show up in the tags. not my fault so deal with it)

I mean, to each their own, but I feel you on this so much (x, x)

Especially because I’ve been a SI shipper myself too, so I know the arguments firsthand, and I now find them inconsistent and hypocritical, not to mention totally off, more like an OOC crackship, a self-indulgent headcanon. One of those purely fanon things that somehow get hyped and accepted by most as fact. Sasuke and Itachi’s personalities aren’t the way they’re portrayed in SI, simply put, and if their personalities are not like that, their relationship can’t develop that way either. I’m not attacking anyone who ships it in particular, I’m sort of attacking the old me who did.

Like, “Itachi is a submissive person”. Hell no, what are they even reading? The fact that he was treated like a tool since his childhood didn’t mean he wanted it, only that he was loyal to the clan, that he was young and knew no other way, or he wouldn’t have lashed out at the Uchiha Police when accused of having killed Shisui. The fact that he respected Hiruzen and was loyal to Konoha was because he believed in the idea of the village as a place to live in peace, like Hashirama and Madara wanted. Even moreso, when he was forced to accept the massacre, he was forced, blackmailed, with Sasuke used as leverage. He’s described in the Shinden book as someone who hates to lose, he admitted to have become arrogant because he was a genius, and despite the moments he was forced to do something he always did what he wanted. He even chose how and when to die, he didn’t even submit to death…

…So no, he’s not submissive, he’s a dominant person, a very controlling person. He said it himself, as Edo Tensei, that he controlled Sasuke more than anyone. A genius who knows (or thinks he knows) better than others and who wants to do things his own way. Especially with Sasuke, who’s his younger brother so he’s wired to act like the older brother, which means being in charge too. The way he talks to Sasuke shows this very well. Like it’s customary in Japanese, he kinda talks “down” to him, like a superior in rank. It’s not demeaning, it’s just the way it’s done in Japanese. Speaking of which, I once discussed with someone who said they didn’t get why Itachi used “ore” instead of some less dominant pronoun. Ore is used to almost everyone in Naruto, like in most shounen manga, only a few males use boku and it’s not always connected to how submissive they really are (see Suigetsu who’s the opposite of that), but although it would have been cool in my opinion to see Itachi using a different pronoun (like jibun, that has a militaresque feel, for example) imagining Itachi using boku would be completely OOC.

This argument’s counterpart is “Sasuke is dominant”. Nope, he’s not. It doesn’t mean he’s weak ofc. But he is passive especially with people, he never pushes them, pretty much the opposite. When he seeks people it’s because of practical reasons and he always offers something in return, he never just imposes himself on them. Think about Team Taka. I mean, Sasuke is yin, which means darkness, feminine principle, passive, which means receptive, flexible and not fixed. Many don’t get these concepts and associate passive/submissive with weak, which is not. Sasuke is a good leader and he takes matters in his own hands quickly, abut that’s when no one does the thing he needs, otherwise he’s completely ok not leading, following instructions if they come from someone he respects. In fact when he and Itachi fight Kabuto he doesn’t order Itachi around, he obeys whetever Itachi tells him, even though he was suspicious at first. Because he trusts Itachi and because he’s comfortable with him leading. He’s his younger brother, that’s was how their life would have been. If SI made sense their roles would have been different during that fight. 

Another SI argument is “Sasuke is sooo possessive and jealous over Itachi”…when he isn’t possessive at all, neither with Itachi nor with anyone else. But especially not with Itachi. What shippers use as proof of that is Sasuke getting angry when Konoha shinobi talk ill about Itachi, and when Danzo does the same. But that’s not being jealous! He’s not angry because they mentioned Itachi, he is angry because they talked shit about him. He’s defending his name, he’s protecting him, it’s the opposite of being jealous. In fact when he talks to Edo Tensei Hiruzen he asks about Itachi, he even asked Danzo about him. In fact he is visibly glad when Hashirama praises Itachi. He likes people to talk about how awesome Itachi is.

And “Sasuke is arrogant, Itachi is humble”…actually it’s the opposite. Sasuke has a low self esteem because he has always been compared to a genius like Itachi, he also showed it when Naruto got stronger quickly. He makes up for it with constant training, and sometimes with an arrogant attitude, but that’s attitude, not his inner opinion of himself. Itachi knows he’s a genius, he considered his clansmen narrow-minded and attached to an old mentality, and he admitted that he had become arrogant. Needless to say, I’m not bashing him, how could I? just stating facts. I find this side of him the most interesting. He has proper manners, he respects his superiors and elders because of these manners, but because of which he also refers to subordinates in a “talk down” sort of way. For example no matter how strong Kisame is, he sort of refers to him as if he were inferior in rank, in a classy way. Sasuke instead is democratically rude to everyone. And he does recognize when he needs help. He knew his limits, despite he was constantly training, learning and getting better. He formed Team Taka because he knew he couldn’t make it alone. He joined Akatsuki becaue he needed their support back during that arc. He asked all the strong people to teach him. And he admitted that he defeated Orochimaru only because he was weakened by illness.

Also the dynamics they ship are off in my opinion. Like “Itachi would never touch or initiate anything with Sasuke while Sasuke would do whatever he wants with Itachi”. Actually in canon Itachi invades Sasuke’s personal space all the time, while Sasuke never does that. Sasuke uses weapons, from his sword to his chidori, o even Kirin, a really long range attack, to “touch” Itachi, Itachi uses his bare hands and feet to hit him, he grabs him from behind, he pins him against the wall…there’s not just the inn scene. Also his final goodbye, where he closes the distance between them. If you look at their fight, Sasuke always looks at him, he’s always close to him, but he also keeps a certain distance. That’s because he respects him, as the elder brother. Also Sasuke is very oblivious about sex. Itachi doesn’t act in a “sexual” way either, but his scenes with Sasuke are certainly very sensual. So, Sasuke initiating something isn’t exactly fitting, unless there are particular circumstances. I agree that Itachi wouldn’t exactly initiate something with Sasuke because he’s good at controlling his impulses and he knows how dangerous it would be to cross that boundary, but in canon he touched him a lot so. uhm.

Or “Itachi feels guilty for what he did to Sasuke so he’d let him do what he wants” that is the #1 cliché in fics. But. Edo Tensei Itachi admitting he controlled Sasuke more than anyone doesn’t automatically mean that in a scenario where he’s revived he would stop doing it. He would stop doing it to the extreme level he did in the past (maybe) but he’s still his older brother and he would always feel compelled to to what’s best for him, no matter what. When they met in the woods he quickly pointed out that Sasuke had become a criminal, which shows a certain disapproval. He entrusted Sasuke to Naruto…it’s a plot device, but it also shows how controlling he is, even if it’s for Sasuke’s own good. Also, let’s not forget that Sasuke admires and respects strength. He doesn’t respect weak people. He loves, admires, adores Itachi because he’s his big brother, but also because he’s strong. He aknowledged Itachi’s sacrifices and suffering, he constantly thought about them but he never thought of him as the submissive weakling the fandom makes him. He thought of him as a hero, not as a martyr. If Itachi acted like a weak submissive person, I’m not sure if Sasuke would admire him in the same way.

I’m also adding “but Sasuke chased Itachi after the whole time while Itachi escaped from him so it means Sasuke is the pursuer, the assertive one”. This applies to other pairings, but Itachi and Sasuke are brothers so they’ve always been closer than any other relationship. Sasuke always did what little brothers do: follow their big brother, run after him when he goes away and so on. Most of it all Itachi set Sasuke’s path in a way that he would chase after him to obtain his revenge. Not that Sasuke wouldn’t have been obsessed by him anyway, but the fact that Sasuke openly chased after Itachi while Itachi apparently escaped from him doesn’t apply, since he extended his control over Sasuke even if he was far away. 

I have no problem if others like it as long as they don’t push it as the one true portrayal, like I’ve seen too often. Before someone goes into a “they switch” mode, first of all, keep it to yourself, I don’t care about it. Second, and most important, I don’t just mean sex. I never do. I always mean something bigger, their entire relationship dynamic, where sex is one of the aspects of their personality and their way of expressing it.

I said this already, when I got into Itasasu the most I could find were Mutsumix doujins, which I hate, and terrible generic yaoi-ish where Itachi was an arrogant, horny seme and Sasuke a shy and/or slutty uke. Good stuff was rare. So when I stumbled on the “part2 Sasuke obtains his revenge on Itachi in a different way” cliché I kinda liked it. Now I find it gross and OOC because Sasuke worships Itachi so he would never do such thing, but at first it seemed fresh and interesting, but when I read more SI fics, especially the most popular ones, I was disappointed at the characterization, that sadistic Sasuke and that weak Itachi were annoying and OOC. After the reveal the martyr Itachi trope became popular, as well as psycho Sasuke. Then I discovered tumblr, where there was a sort of IS vs SI war. I kinda miss that before the ending people cared about something other than the big ships. 

If something is well written it gets more attention, look at commercials where animals are happy to become food while no one sees the inconsistency because there’s a catchy slogan. On a small scale this happens in the fandom as well. a well written essay, or the author notes in a fic, or a fic itself, that describes SI as the “right” dynamic, no matter how wrong its arguments are, sounds apparently better than a defense of IS with right arguments but written in a poor, fangirl-ish way. I saw SI shippers accusing IS ones to be thirsty fetishists yaoi fangirls, to which IS ones didn’t counter with logic, like saying that the same could be applied to SI ones, or to neither. They replied in the dumbest, most childish way still pushing those ridiculous IS clichés, so I found SI shippers’ arguments more convincing at first, even if I didn’t agree with everything. Guess I was dumb too.

I only changed my mind when I wrote my own SI fic, that made me delve into their bond and their personality much deeper than before, because of this better understanding the fic felt off, but I wasn’t sure because there was still this bias that IS was a fetishist/superficial dynamic while SI was the right one, so I felt like I was the one with a problem of understanding, which was unsettling. As the writing continued I opted for a “they switch” dynamic, I made sure that my Itachi wasn’t meek and powerless and that my Sasuke wasn’t sadistic, but every time I received a nice review pointing out how they liked the SI dynamic characteristics I felt like a fake and got angry at myself. So first I deleted certain parts, in a way that there was SI only in the beginning, like a phase because Sasuke was mentally ill and Itachi was plagued by guilt, but it still felt wrong, because Sasuke worships Itachi, he put him on a pedestal and he wouldn’t take him down from there. So I rewrote it after 2 years, now it’s completely SI free and I’m proud of it.

Glossy eyes that stare right at you with fondness slowly blink, their drowsy state obvious to you, but it was sort of endearing. Kuroo tries to stay awake for you, which is hard because suddenly, his eyelids feel very heavy and closing them seems too appealing for him. He guessed it would have been easier if he hadn't drink all those beers, maybe, just maybe, he was a little drunk.

It had been a hard day for him, work had been extra stressful and then he came home to have stupid argument with you. It was something small, he thought at first. So what if he had dinner with his colleague when she invited him? So what if he knew she likes him? It wasn't a fancy dinner or something romantic, just some grilled meat while complaining about work, hell, some other co-workers ended up joining last minute. Even when you were walking out of the door, he was severely convinced that he wasn't at wrong ... And he was still until he finally sat alone in the living room, popping a can of beer to de-streess. Now, he was a guilty, clingy drunk who denied to separate from you the second you returned, but as stubborn as you were, not even when Tetsuro was acting so cute would you just easily forgive him.

"I'm sorry~ I'm sorry~, I already apologized, so please, cuddle with me" his whines were loud, so loud you had to make sure to make your own apologies to your next door neighbor. His arms were wrapped around you, like tree roots that grew tightly along your body, and his sleepy face was smudged to your lap.

Tetsuro could just sigh when he got no reaction from you, dramatic antics showing up with his intoxicated state.

"I know I don't deserve you, ok?" He started tiredly, eyes looking up to meet yours. "You're so perfect, so loving and patient with a jerk like me, so good to someone like me. I love you lots but somehow, always mess up, always taking you for granted." The only thing making evident the alcohol in his system was how slurred his words came, but they were too sincere to be just spouted out with no meaning, and your heart was starting to beat faster with every thing he said, warmth spreading through your heart and face.

Your Tetsu, who always teased you and annoyed you, was having one of the most honest conversation in your whole relationship, which was both endearing and maddening. Is not like the spark ever faltered in your relationship, far from it, really, but hearing him made your heart explode with love once again.

"She... She would never compare, you shouldn't even feel jealous about her, she's just a co-worker and nothing more. You're cuter, you're smarter, you are more beautiful and your laughter is brighter. Her eyes don't shine like yours do in such a cute way. You're better, and somehow, I only make you feel insecure. I thought I was just being nice, but it doesn't matter now, because you're upset, and it's my fault for not being there for you...I made a huge mistake... I know... But please, don't leave me." Your heart squeezes and your stomach fills with butterflies at his desperate voice, his arms gripping you stronger against him.

Eventually, you cave in, reaching a hand down to his messy hair. You love how soft it is compared to how it looks, melting when he lets out a satisfied purs coming from his chest. "You're an idiot, you make me cry, and you make me jealous. You can't stop teasing me and pestering me. You're so annoying... But I wouldn't change your love for nothing Tetsuro, and I wouldn't let you go so easily either."

He finally let's his eyes close and sleep, knowing that you'll be there tomorrow morning, right next to him.

Fruits Basket - Vol. 20

I want to try to break the book into three main chunks. The last time I did that, it was easier to write about. So uh, the first chunk has to do with Tohru and her feelings about Kyo, and Kagura's reaction, the second chunk is Akito and Ren's past being revealed (it's totally a mess but it's to be expected), and the third chunk is about things unraveling.

Ok cool let's do it. (The picture was at the end of one of the chapters, I just liked it a lot idk) (also tumblr needs to increase the character limit for the alt text, it's only 200 characters, which goes by quick. twitter has like,, 420, which is more manageable)

Tohru came to Kazuma's house to visit Izusu, and Kagura came to confront Tohru about something. What possibly could it be (as if I didn't say so in the beginning)? Kagura was talking about it a bit with Kazuma, and he said he just hopes that Tohru's feelings don't come from a place of pity (which is a mild "oof" point for Kagura, because that's mostly why she loved Kyo), because Kyo has had to deal with people either flat out hating him, or being nice to him out of a sense of pity. Even Kazuma admitted (earlier in the series. I don't remember when but I remember reading it) that part of the reason he took in Kyo as a child was because he was making it up for how he treated his grandfather, the previous Cat. Over time, those feelings fell away, in favor of genuinely caring for Kyo's wellbeing, but Kazuma doesn't seem to be the one who would forget about stuff like that. (Also it turns out that the previous Cat's partner basically stayed with him out of a sense of pity, as well)

It turns out that Izusu and Tohru were talking about the same thing, and Tohru worried if her feelings for Kyo were selfish, because she wanted nothing to take Kyo away from her, not the curse, not the Sohma family, nothing. Kagura then bust into the room, smacked Tohru across the fucking room it seems, and said, "Then fucking tell him that!!" (direct quote, 100%) Izusu yelled at Kagura for hitting Tohru, asking what right she had for doing that, but given Kagura's nature, it doesn't seem completely out of nowhere. She just got pretty emotional in that moment.

For Tohru, it seemed to knock the right screw loose for her, and she thought back to when she was talking about her father to Kyo, and if he said really anything against what she was talking about, she apparently would've just zipped her lips and pretended she hadn't said anything, and moved on, but he didn't. Which is pretty nice of him to do, honestly. Anyway, when she came to again (because she got knocked out from Kagura's emotion-packed slap), Kyo was sitting there, because Kazuma had called him, ("Hey dude so there was a smackdown here and Tohru got knocked out lmao" is how I'm imagining the call. kjdhkfgjh can you imagine Kazuma saying "lmao" I can't) but Kyo didn't ask about the fight (which was a Wise Lesson from Shishou™), another nice thing for him to do, though in my opinion it would be a pretty easy thing to explain.

Ok, so now onto the second chunk, which kinda has some of the stuff in the third chunk later on but whatever. Story flow, it's pristine today.

It starts with some of the,, maids? or something that are in the Sohma house (they never get names so far as I can tell, and I don't really know what to call them, but at one point someone referred to one of them as a maid, I think? Idk.) talking about Ren, and wondering why Akito still let Ren wander around freely like she does. Another said that Akito can only do so much, because apparently there is a crowd of people in the house that are "Ren-followers", and if she had Ren be completely contained within an area, there's a chance that those followers might start some shit, which would be a headache to deal with. One of the maids said that Akito has been sick (or holed up in her room) for too long, and the rest of the Juunishi are doing nothing to help, which does not help with Ren, who spouts out stuff about how the Juunishi doesn't really care about Akito at all. The maids seem to have a particular thing against Ren, because they view her as an unsuitable woman who somehow managed to become partners with Akira, the previous God, I think, but also the father of Akito.

Speaking of Akito, she has a box. That same box that Ren tried to use Izusu to get back. Something about that box has to do with Akira, and it seems important to both Akito and Ren, though honestly at this point Akito is probably just holding onto it out of spite for Ren, I wouldn't be surprised (I, too, am a petty bitch. I understand the mindset). She asked Kureno if he has any idea what is in it, and when he says he doesn't, she simply says, "Father."

Now we jump over to Ren and Shigure, who are also talking about about that elusive box. Apparently Shigure was tasked to get the box, but obviously he didn't succeed. He said (thought? He didn't say it aloud, it was one of those thoughts thing--- anyway) that he didn't really care, he didn't even want to touch that box, much less even look at it, it was no loss to him. Out loud, he says that it would be inappropriate for him to hold it, and Ren agrees, saying that only she can have it, just like how only she could have Akira, when he was alive. Are you already sensing where this is heading? Well, I'll say it anyway.

Flash back to Kureno, he's thinking about Akira, from when he was younger and Akira was still alive. He remembers Akira as very beautiful, in a fleeting way. Akira was sickly, all the time, and sad. Everyone knew that he wouldn't live for very long. But since he was the head of the house, of the family, it was imperative that he find a partner and produce an heir. That person was Ren, who was one of his care-takers. The rest of the staff (or something??) didn't like that she was going to be with Akira, it seemed unsuitable, but she was the only candidate. She was the only person who recognized how lonely he was, is what Akira said as a defense when people objected. And so, they were married. The older members of the family despised it, the younger thought it was the beginning of a new change, a new era. Ren said (because this section is flipping between Kureno and Ren) that it was only them two (haha grammar): Akira and Ren, they were all who mattered. She was everything to Akira. So when she had Akito, well, that muddled things. Because now there was another person that Akira loved: his own fuckin child. That's right. Ren got jealous of her own child because Akira loved his very own daughter. That's,, that's something. Shortly after that, Ren decided that Akito would be raised as a boy. Or maybe it was while she was still pregnant. At any rate, she said it was because it would be unsuitable for the head of the family to be a woman, but we all know the real reason: it's so that Akira wouldn't be loving another girl, even though that other girl was his daughter. Jfc Ren is a handful. From Kureno's memory, it seems like even as a kid, Shigure recognized that.

Back to Shigure and Ren, Shigure says that he feels sorry for Ren, probably thanks to all that upset she has. She says the same, that the Juunishi have had to deal with the abuse that Akito has dealt to them simply because of that "bond", and that there's no way that anyone could honestly love Akito. Shigure also comments that sometimes he thinks that if Akito had been raised as a woman, she'd look exactly like Ren, which instantly pisses Ren off. She just starts screaming about "Who do you have to thank for Akito being born! I'm the reason that (insert angry comment about how she's the only reason why x happened)". I'm kinda glad she isn't in the series much, this is exhausting. I know she's in the book later, and maybe a bit more in the next few, but jeez. It's a lot.

Anyway, let's end the chapter with Momiji having his curse be broken. The end is near (for the Juunishi, not this post lmao).

The second that the curse breaks, Akito knows it (that's probably the bond. I doubt it's some kinda "we'll be friends forever uwu" kinda thing, it's just kinda an awareness of each other, or maybe just God's awareness of everyone) and races towards Momiji, begging him to not leave. Now that the curse is broken, Momiji is confused as to how those thoughts he had prior for Akito were even there, now that he sees Akito clinging onto him, whimpering and panicked. Momiji waves her away, saying that he'll keep it a secret, and that Akito should go rest, wasn't she feeling sick earlier?

We pan over to the school, where Haru is asking Yuki if he's noticed anything off about Momiji. Haru can't place it, but something seems off, maybe not. Kyo ends up running into Momiji walking down a hallway, and asks him about it (he overheard the others talking about it), and Momiji just out and says it: his curse broke. He said he imagines that Tohru would be happier about it if it were Kyo's curse that broke, and that he (Momiji) lost. (I guess he lost in some unspoken one-sided competition of "getting" Tohru, because y'know she's not her own person who is capable of deciding these things for herself or anything)

Later, Momiji goes back to the main Sohma estate, to apologize to Akito for how he acted yesterday, but also to say that he won't be staying there any longer. Akito takes it like a champ, slapping Momiji across the face and insulting him, saying that he's a traitor, he has nowhere else to go, his family either doesn't remember him or hates him, he'll never be happy! and Momiji's just like, "Yeah lol I already feel lonely", that he can't be with the person he loves, and he no longer has that One Thing that previously connected him to most of the other people he's close with, and that there's no going back. He does say though, that it's not Akito's decision or place to say whether Momiji will ever be happy or not, because he might not be happy now, that does not mean that he won't ever be happy in the future. He then asks Akito how long she will stay at the house, thinking that eventually, everyone will come back to her, that no one will be happy without her. What if it's actually her that is most afraid-- Akito isn't down for an analysis, she just tells Momiji to leave.

Let's now go down memory lane, down a nice and happy time, especially for Akito and Ren: Akira's death and it's after effects. Happy times. (apparently i was wrong, the thing i said was the third chunk that wove in nicely with the second was just the second chunk, i think this is the actual third chunk)

Akito is thinking back (on a rainy morning, extra points for setting the mood) on her relationship with her parents. With Akira, it was nice, he always was kind and caring, telling Akito that she is what everyone has been waiting for, and that she thought she was the one Akira loved the most. With Ren, however, she was always cruel, from the start. She always glared at Akito, she was always mean. Akito hates her. We're brought back to the day Akira died, where Ren bursts into the room, asking why she wasn't notified sooner, why Akira had to die alone. One of the attendants said his condition worsened too quickly to call Ren close by, but also that Akira hadn't died alone; he died with Akito by his side. The attendant said that Akira's will had been passed onto Akito, she was now the head of the family. Ren was angered at that, there's no reason for Akito to still be around now! She only tolerated her child being around because Akira liked her, but now that Akira is gone, there is no one to love or care about Akito. Akito said that wasn't true, that all of the Juunishi will love her, because of their bond. (Which is basically what Akira said. He put most of that stuff into her head, and she doubled down on it whenever Ren said anything against it, which might as well be every single time they were around each other)

Back to the present, Kureno comes in the room to talk about something, but Akito interrupts him, saying that she was happy when Yuki was born, as the Rat. It was mostly just something she used to prove Ren wrong, and she used it as long as she could (much to the deterioration of Yuki's mental health). She thought back, over the years, to all the bad things that had happened, how she tried so hard to keep everyone close, and how all of them had, one by one, come to "betray" (cough cough, try to live their own lives, cough cough) her. After Shigure and Yuki left to their present residence, Ren said that they had given up on Akito. When Akito again mentioned their bond (which, really, now that I think about it, has basically been the singular thing straining to keep everything under control. Akito's sole sense of identity was being God, she's never had anything else.), Ren waved it away, then challenged that if any of the Juunishi can go out into the world, experience it in all it's freaky magical ways, and not be taken in by it, and instead return to Akito, then she will have been proved wrong, Akito's claims this whole time will have been correct. If they failed to, however, Ren said that Akito would have to give up the Sohma name. But Akito believed it, she truly believed she was right, that nothing big enough would come between her and the rest of the Juunishi (Tohru has entered the chat). She had to believe it, she just had to. But now, it's evident, between how Haru reacted upon learning about Izusu, Momiji's demeanor after the curse broke, the general way that the rest of the Juunishi float away from Akito, that it isn't true, and with that, she has nothing to hope for.

Upon this realization, Ren bursts into the room, knee-length hair floating around her, eyes crazed, knife in hand, demanding for Akira. Demanding for that box, and whatever contents were inside. In response, Akito fuggin yeeted it at Ren, she didn't give a shit. It flashed back to right before Akira died, and he soothed Akito by saying that, despite dying, he will always be with her. He wanted for Ren to be happy. He wasn't upset that he was dying so soon, he knew that he was just a man who was going to die, but he was happy that he was able to have a child, and to have had that child with Ren, and since that child was special, it was proof that their relationship was a special one. Back to the present, Ren scrambles to the box, tears it open hungrily to find,,, nothing. The box was empty. It'd always been empty, said to have held Akira's soul, but it was mostly just something to help Akito with Akira's passing. Suddenly, Akito grabbed the knife that fell from Ren's hand, poised to stab Ren but then--

Hiro's curse broke. Ren can thank that bond she always scoffed at for saving her life. But hey, now Hiro can hold his baby sister, which is nice. Yay for family moments.

Boo for Akito, because it's just really grinding in that the curse is quickly falling apart, and there's absolutely nothing that she can do about it. Ren taunts Akito, asking if she was trying to kill her. The attendants blow up, one yelling at Ren for making such a scene, taking a knife with her, and another scolds the first for giving Akito that box in the first place, it's stupid! The first attendant said that Akito knew from the start that it was empty, common sense would say that much! (idk man it could've held one last letter from Akira to Akito, a letter wouldn't affect the weight of the box significantly, it's not common sense)

Akito leaves the room, and Kureno follows. Akito says that it was both common sense but also not, that there wasn't anything in the box. She wanted to believe there was a chance that something was in that box, some kind of invisible energy that would help her. But even after opening it, seeing that it was empty, she still held onto it, knowing there wasn't anything. And that was her common sense, that's what she thought. She'd never been given any other way of thinking, of living, so why and how should anyone expect differently? Kureno says that she can start learning now, that that was what he wanted to talk about earlier, that she can't stay here, she'll never be able to move on, to which Akito cuts him off with "Fuggin now, bitch?? You're saying that now?? That doesn't help me! It would have helped in the beginning! But not fucking now!" (which btw is true. i doubt akito was even allowed to go to a public school, that she was schooled within the estate. i really believe that she's never really been outside of the the properties that the Sohma family owns) Then she stabs Kureno, with that knife she's been holding all this time. She reasons with it saying that Kureno's "halfway kindness" has been killing her this whole time, that it can't be fixed by Kureno saying that maybe Akito should go touch some grass. As Akito is running from the scene (more like haggardly stumbling), she continues thinking that it's Kureno's fault, it's not on her, until she remembers what Yuki was saying at the New Year's gathering about blame. It doesn't really fix anything, it just momentarily makes you think that you're not in the wrong. *record scratch* What if it's Akito's fault, then? All of this? What if it's her fault? What if it's the fault of the person who made everyone change? What if it's Tohru's fault?? (dun dun dunnnn)

Meanwhile, back at the other Sohma house (Shigure's house?) Tohru has some confessing to do. Before that though, Kyo has some confessing to do, though not about the same thing. He tells Tohru that he knew her mom before she died, and that he was the reason she died. He tells her that they met when he was really young, and how they had kinda become friends (in that way that people become friends by talking often, but Kyo never told Kyoko his name, because he had some weird thing about having a name so similar). That all fell apart the day that Tohru went missing. He promised that he would find her and rescue her, but after finding that Yuki had done it (the evidence was The Hat), he lashed out, and never talked to Kyoko again. Years later, when he was at the crosswalk, who was beside him but Kyoko, who he recognized instantly. He wasn't sure what to do, whether to say something to her or hold back. He was totally able to grab her arm, get her out of harm's way, but he didn't, he was too scared. (plus yaknow the whole cat thing) He beats himself up about, still to this day. He does the same with his own mom's death. It was his fault that his mom killed herself, she couldn't stand having such a monster as a child. It was too much for her, and she couldn't take any longer. (It wasn't. I won't say that his mom wasn't put under strain for having Kyo, for knowing that he wasn't human, that he turned into a weird monster if his bracelet was taken off, but from what we've seen of his dad, it was probably at least 85-90% his dad's fault. He was too caught up in the politics of the Sohma family, ashamed of the fact that Kyo was the Cat, the worst out of them, that he couldn't even salvage having one of the good freaks to have as a child of his, and he took it all out on his wife and later his son.)

And the book ends on that cheery note. (Why do I say stuff like that why I am I like this)

When you found out that your boyfriend cheated on you and told you that you were way out of his league and that you were too boring, you knew what you needed and wanted to do right away. Plus, the fact that he told you no one's gonna wanna be with you really hurt your ego so all you wanted to do was to slap him with the fact that he's not the only fish in the sea.

But, who? Who else besides him?

As you were running that day on the field, overthinking about the words thrown at you by your ex-boyfriend, you saw Park Jimin getting dumped by his supposedly ex-girlfriend by now.

At first you couldn't believe it. I mean, literally anyone in the school would kneel just to be friends with Jimin. Girls and gays would drool over him and his other friends during lunch time, and he seemed nice and friendly. A bit intimidating though because he's part of the jocks on your school but on top of all of that, he seemed really boyfriend.

"How rough was the break-up that you can't even go to the cafeteria because she'd be there?" You asked him when you found him alone in the rooftop, drinking some kind of strawberry milk.

That day was also the day you started going out, no– not really going out, dating Jimin.

It's a win-win situation. He wanted to get his girl back, and you wanted to prove your ex-boyfriend wrong. After that, when Eunji regrets dumping Jimin, and your ex admits that he regrets saying what he did, it's over. And you both agreed on that.

At that time, you didn't really care about falling for your sidekick because you were sure that you weren't, all you wanted was to slap your cheater ex-boyfriend and make him look like a fool for those words. It was childish, really. But that's what you both agreed on, nothing more, nothing less.

And so you both set rules for each other.

"And please, I know it's not a big deal for you, but it is for me. Less Kissing." You said and typed it down your notes. But as soon as you said that, you felt his plum lips on yours.

"Are you dumb? Didn't I–"

"Your ex was looking, don't turn around. Just smile." He whispered after leaning dangerously close to your ear.

No one was looking, though.

You've also went to several parties with him, which wasn't you at all. You only went to parties with Jimin knowing Eunji and your ex would be there, but you had to admit that those little hangouts with Jimin, and those deep talks after parties inside his car – it was really something. It made you realize that Park Jimin wasn't so bad after all. He was a good friend.

You looked at the ice cream in front of you before grabbing it. "You were craving, right?" He asked.

"Yeah, thanks. Really thoughtful, knowing your ex is looking." You both giggled after that but he shook his head and sat beside you. "Oh, this is good. Want some?"

He looked at the cone you were handing him over then looked at you. He moved your hand away and kissed your lips, which probably tasted like strawberry ice cream.

He made an impressed look and nodded. "I think I like strawberry way more now." And you swore that after he did that, a blush was very visible on your cheeks.

"You're making this whole fake relationship thing easier for them to believe, you know?"

"What's wrong with that?"

Yeah, what's wrong with that? You can just end up with each other.

"Not gonna happen." You said but snapped out of your thoughts as soon as he gave you a confused look. "I mean–"

"Yeah, I kinda know what you're thinking." He said and you noticed his little side smile. He stood up, lending a hand towards you. "I'm taking you home."

"What?"

"I'm taking you to your house, the fuck? What you high on?" He asked and grabbed your hand, tagging you along with him. You both agreed to not be sweet when nobody's looking, and you swore that by the time you were holding hands, everyone else in the field already left. You wanted to take your hand back but it felt, I don't know, right?

Having Park Jimin in a black hoodie and ripped jeans, with his backpack hung on one shoulder, his forehead showing, he looked really fucking attractive and boyfriend material, and it felt so right.

"Bro, you're a simp. I thought it was fake?" Taehyung, another attractive and hot as hell friend of Jimin, asked when they were alone inside the shower room. Jimin took a sharp breath and closed his gym bag.

"Tae, is it bad that I don't want this to be fake anymore?"

"Totally not. You two really made everyone believe that you were really together, it all looks real!" Jimin chuckled and left the room, but they both stopped when someone was already in front of the door.

"Guess Taehyung's voice is not just deep, huh? You can be loud whenever your voice wants to." Eunji said and patted Taehyung's chest. "Thank you, though. If it wasn't for you and your chitchats then I wouldn't know that Jimin here is just faking everything with Y/n."

Jimin bit the insides of his cheek and looked down, not really knowing what to feel. "Tryna make me jealous, Park?" He rolled his eyes, not wanting to say "yes" even though that was part of the plan.

"It's working." Eunji said before grabbing Jimin's collar and you know – kissing him, as cliché as it can get.

"Jimin," Taehyung said and forcefully pulled him away from Eunji, who was also forcefully kissing him. He lowkey pointed at where you were standing and Jimin looked at you, but the wrong move he did was he didn't do anything at all.

You gave him a thumbs up and a wide smile after that, from a distance, and jogged away when you realized that – they were probably back together. It was over, and all you needed to do was for him to bring your scrunchies back and for you to bring his hoodies back.

You were asking for another confirmation, and as you were walking home, you received one. A message from your ex. Which you totally forgot about after all this time being with Jimin.

I'm sorry for the words I said. Maybe I'm a dick after all, and you changed. For the best, because you were already better back then. You deserve each other. Just know that I'm deeply regretting that I hurt an innocent one.

You smiled at that note.

But it was a Saturday, and you were fucking lonely. All the Saturdays you had with Jimin were all fun and exciting, but today was different. It's been a week after you saw Jimin, Taehyung and Eunji in front of the shower room, and a week after you two supposedly broke up the whole fake relationship.

You decided to bring five of his hoodies with you as you walked to the rooftop where this whole fake relationship started.

Little did you know that he brought your scrunchies as well.

"Hi!" You forced a giggle and simply handed him his hoodies over. You noticed that he was wearing just a white shirt on, probably because he already ran out of hoodies. Or some may be with Eunji now, who knows?

"I guess we'll have to break up?" You forced a laugh once again and a smile after saying that, but he didn't answer. He just grabbed your wrist and made you wear five of your scrunchies. You chuckled upon having them back but stopped when you realized that this was it.

Being sad over this departure was certainly not part of the plan, and you surely didn't stick to it when you realized that you could no longer fake anymore smiles because you were that sad.

It made you even more devastated when he hugged you.

"Do you like me?" He asked while hugging you, which caught you off guard so you pulled away from him, giving him a confused expression. He looked down and chuckled. "Again, do you like me?"

"What–"

"I didn't kiss Eunji back that afternoon. I stood there not knowing what to do when I saw you because that day, I realized what I was really feeling for you and I didn't wanna admit it to myself that quick." He said and looked through your eyes. "And I'm still afraid – that's why I'm asking you this once and for all, Y/n."

He paused for a bit, mustering up all the courage he had, then caressed your face and pecked your lips. "Do you like me now?"

You remained silent, not really taking in what was happening but one thing's for sure.

You already fell. Hard.

"Because I do, Y/n. Harder than you can ever imagine."

Ohohohohohohoho I’m glad you both asked about Kirishima’s pack cause boy do I have answers - okay first things first, Kirishima is only dating Bakugou and he’s the only wolf shifter in the pack (well, Mina is also a shifter, just not a wolf shifter)

In the AU pack dynamics are loosely based on how wolf packs work in the wild: in nature usually there’s an alpha couple (the “alpha male” and his mate) and the rest of the pack is made out of their pups! So by all means it’s just a family unit - once the pups are old enough to fend for themselves they leave the “pack” to form their own family - they’re social animals, so they need a pack to be happy and safe, and that reflects in the AU too. In this universe though it’s pretty normal for wolf shifters to date/marry non-shifters or shifters of other kinds, and when that happens the resulting kids might or might not have shifting abilities, which results in the process of forming a pack being a bit all over the place

In Kirishima’s case, he was born by two non-shifters who had shifter blood in them - as a wolf shifter his wolf side needed a pack to feel well (let’s say, other wolves to play with and learn from and so on) so as a kid he used to spend a lot of time with Fat and Amajiki (both wolf shifters!) who acted as a surrogate pack for the wolf in him - now he’s old enough to have his own pack tho! And while ideally that would mean he builds his own family with another wolf shifter, he ended up falling for Bakugou, who’s a non-shifter and a man, which means the family plan sorta went down the drain. His wolf still needs a pack to be happy tho, and that ended up meaning he latched onto Mina (a childhood friend) and Kaminari and Sero (Bakugou’s close friends) who by this point are as close to him as if they were actual family.

So in theory Kirishima’s wolf side sees the pack as himself and Bakugou as the alpha couple and Mina, Sero and Kaminari as the “pups” - practically though Kirishima’s human side has a perfect grasp on his wolf’s instincts, so all in all it ends up just being five pals loving each other like family, no power imbalance at all (…he does get clingy after his pack members spend time with people outside of the pack, but he doesn’t ever try to stop them from socializing outside of the group and cuddles and general close proximity are all he needs to make his wolf feel better!)

…as you can see, I spent more time on this AU than strictly necessary haha

Sometimes I think “today I’m gonna draw more of the ot3″ even though I don’t have specific ideas in mind, but then stuff happens and I get actual inspiration for something that isn’t the ot3 and I’m the sort of person who needs to roll with the insp as long as it’s fresh or else I won’t ever pick it up again! Other times it might also be that the asker’s first language isn’t English and in their tongue the wording is appropriate while it ends up sounding rude in English, how could I know, translating nounces isn’t easy! So I always assume you mean well, being rude wouldn’t solve anything but make the asker feel bad

In the UA file there was noted how after he breaks it he needs a while to get in back up, but against Rappa he just kept on pulling it back up every time it got broken? So?? Was that just the moment’s adrenaline making him able to keep going, or did he actually get rid of the cooldown? If he did he doesn’t have a drawback anymore!!! You go my small rock son!!!!

He’s perfectly stable with Kaminari, Sero, Shouji and Tsuyu! (Kaminari and Sero cause they’re friends, Shouji and Tsuyu cause the resulting fusions are the only two Mineta fusions with no sexual tendencies at all. They just. Suppress that side of Mineta completely) He’s more or less stable with another few in the class, but the only perfectly stable ones are those four!

Uhmmm lemme see if I know how to word this properly… it is true that I ship every possible couple out of the four of them, and it’s also true that I ship the ot3 separately too (though I always prefer it if Kiri and Baku are together for ~otp reasons~ haha) and I guess I don’t mind the ot4 either? They give me a warm feeling and I love to think about them happy and together all flopped over each other and being affectionate and loving, but all of this can happen with them being in a really close frienship too, right? And I generally prefer them in that sort of relationship

The reason why is mostly that… how do I put this, every couple and trio have their own very singular dynamics, right? Bakugou and Kirishima’s relationship is gonna be different from Bakugou and Sero’s or Sero’s and Kirishima’s or Kaminari and Kirishima’s, they all have different moods and different feelings and so on, which means that they will have different ways in which they’ll develop too, I don’t know if you’re following me. I’m not saying that it’s impossible for all four of them to develop romantic feelings towards all the other three at the same time starting from such different relationships, it’s completely possible and that’s why I don’t mind the ot4 at all, but when I have such a huge playground to enjoy so many different friendships and relationships and dynamics, boiling them all down to the same “they’re romantically into each other” cuts a lot of the fun, for me!

So tl;dr what I mean is that I don’t mind the ot4 and I might draw for it in the future, but it’s more entertaining for me to pick a couple/ot3 and see how the other dynamics shift because of it then just put them all in the same relationship!

Also, I’m a fan of the idea of the four of them ending up being overly affectionate and tactile with each other anyway, so in the end romance or not what’s missing is just the kisses, isn’t it? I don’t draw n sfw anyway haha
