...I don't think I've ever been more terrified. What even just happened with Lahabrea, with Hydaelyn? And now it's down to this monstrosity, this superweapon, versus...us.

We're in this together. The three of us, all blessed by Hydaelyn, thrown together under inauspicious circumstance, unable to stand each other, yet capable of slaying gods when we bother to stop arguing. These comrades... are not who I would've chosen.

I can't imagine who else I would have chosen, who else I'd prefer to have at my side in this moment.

#politely i'm obsessed #also so the first gif is from essentially the game clinching play #there's a minute and a half left pho are ahead 89 to 85 [they've won the first game in the series if they win this they are through #to the championship. the game has been up and down with sas going on runs and one girl hitting 4 threes in the first #cappie pondexter winds down the shot clock penny sets a screen to let her through #all the sas run to cappie which leaves penny open for 3 #she makes it she's fouled and 1 #that first gif is right after she makes the shot and the whistle blows #then she makes the free throw phoenix mercury are up by 8 and sas has to foul for the last minute of play #i am also obsessed with their big 3 being 3 13 and 23 #also that this is cappie's second year in the league and she is the reason they won this game #and she wins finals mvp #this footage well the first one is from the measly 1 minute and 48 second penny taylor highlight from the wnba #and the second one which is from the same game but not in the bootleg video on youtube is in an edit from inside the bun #which has in the description free diana so i can only assume it's from the modafinil situation but i cannot find that footage anywhere #it's actually unfortunate bc the merc used to like before youtube was big post video exclusives to their website #and not everything has been preserved #i have to go on the internet archive because i think there might be more there #it's where i see all the old late night clips that aren't on youtube #so and ik im yapping here that's why it's in the tags the way i figured out where the last one was from #was i cross checked getty images for the 2007 and 2009 playoffs #and there's an image of cappie you can see her in like the first frame talking to then gm annie meyers drysdale who now calls the games #diana taurasi #penny taylor

i will not make any attempts at a polite deception at this time, the difficulty in running BG3 on mint is a huge negative for this whole "dove into mint bc windows got fucked up while attempting to set up dual boot" situation

#linux fuckery #linux mint #linux gaming #it ran without issue on windows 10 so the machine itself is not the bottleneck #idk if it's proton or whatever but it stalls at 100% on the initial game-start loading screen #if i let her cook for like 45 minutes it progresses to the 'accept eula' screen #clicking ''accept'' for two or three minutes lets me go to the gamma adjustment screen but i'm totally stuck there #i initially installed steam via the *.deb installer from the steampowered website #a bunch of places told me to use the flatpack instead so i'm trying that...#it apparently installs files in a different place than the .deb installer so i had to manually delete everything from the first launcher #and currently reinstalling bg3 #so that's fun

the burnout is real lads . . . . .

#which is to say that i came home and just stared at the wall for roughly 2 hours instead of completing my documents #it was at least validating to get to talk to one of my coworkers today #and hear that they're just as burnt out as i am #and usually have to sit in the parking lot for 4 to 5 minutes before they come in because they just don't want to be here that badly #and it feels hard to admit because this is typically thought of as a passion driven profession #and it's like #neither of us have lost the passion for it???#it's not that we hate our jobs #it's just that we both feel like. we're putting in increasingly more effort week by week but we're just.#no longer getting results.#i mentioned how i feel like my faith in my ability to do this kind of work has just plummeted to zero #not at all helped by my mentor constantly pushing me to go faster and faster but then getting mad when my presentations go poorly #because i went faster or reduced the amount of material or cut the Q and A section down 10 minutes #i just feel . . . . . tired . . . . . . . . . . .#i still need to write three planning documents for tonight #one of which needs to be Really Good because my direct supervisor will be looking at it #but my god #i just want to sleep for three days straight and then stare at a wall for another three #i'm so close to the end though . . . . .#just another 15 of these documents (including the three from tonight) and that about covers my internship #of course then there's also the seminar work and the group project and all the fancy official employment documents #and. the portfolio project (a man screams in agony)#but god . . . . . . . .#so close . . . . . . . .#so close . . . . . .#once i'm free from the portfolio it's back to zola work and THEN . . . . . . . . . .#i can finally have a substantial mental health break for the first time since last may ;;; _____ ;;;

I romanced Lae'zel in my first pt of bee gee three and my tav became a squid at the end. Lae'zel went from a character who dumps a squid and leaves, to someone who is down to smorch a squid and stay (patch 4), to someone who dumps a squid and leaves but promises to one day come back in the epilogue (patch 5) and like uhhh.... yay? three endings for the price of one? thanks?

#hablaty #bee gee three posting #tbh at this point i'd just like la*rian to make up their damned mind #sure i was elated for like 10 minutes when patch 4 dropped bc yay happy ending for my newest child i am not immune to fluff i guess #but yeah that went away once the first excitement rush wore off and thought on the changes proper #and then patch 5 happened and... yeah #tbh i'm playing with the party limit begone mod so i took her out of the party *once* this pt and even that hurt #bc of the new dismissal line #but yeah i regret getting my hands on this game before a definitive edition or whatever bc the game not only is unfinished #the company seems more inclined to rewrite the stuff that *is* there rather than filling the blanks of the story #so yeah sorry for putting salt here but whenever i come across posts about the changes that were made to her i do have to wonder #if people are aware that more was done than just the dismissal line
