I tend to take scoops with grains of salt... Or scoops of salt.
The DisInsider sometimes successfully clues us in on what's happening, and sometimes they're way off. Remember how they reported that the 2022 D23 would reveal to us a 2D Disney animated movie called BLUEBEARD (based on the fairy tale of the same name) and a Pixar picture called SUMER? That same report also said INSIDE OUT 2 would be revealed... It was.
But yeah...
Anyways, the latest scoop says DUCKS is a thing (even though the Fine Tooning podcast, co-hosted by entertainment writer Drew Taylor and Disney reporter Jim Hill, said that there is no so much movie being made within the walls of Emeryville), in addition to a third FINDING NEMO movie and an INCREDIBLES 3. Well, what I'll say is this... I think both of those are inevitable. Sequels to favorites tend to do well, and they fund the riskier, original stuff. So yeah, don't be surprised if one of those happens. FINDING DORY and INCREDIBLES 2 were both billion dollar behemoths upon release. Regular moviegoers love those characters and worlds, so they'll be back, even if the online animation fandom deems their sequels to be "mid" or whatever.
Honestly, I wonder if Pixar will ever consider another CARS movie. We did have that CARS ON THE ROAD series two years back, and 2026 will mark the 20th anniversary of the franchise. CARS 3 arrived 11 years after the original, but I think it was kinda bogged down at the box office by how poorly-received CARS 2 was (even audiences weren't too keen on that one) and the existence of two PLANES movies. I think it kinda made for CARS overkill. Ever since CARS 3, we've only had the aforementioned Disney+ series and maybe some short buried in there somewhere. Maybe a nice long gap and not much stuff could do a potential fourth movie good? Honestly, I like the CARS world, the movies are light and fun and silly, I'd be fine with Pixar making a few more so they can fund originals just in case they struggle at the box office. Instead of yet another TOY STORY.
I think they're running out of the perennial favorites to do sequels to. A BUG'S LIFE 2 likely won't happen, and MONSTERS, INC. has its continuation in the form of MONSTERS AT WORK, though a sequel set after that isn't entirely off the table. I don't think you can feasibly do a sequel to RATATOUILLE or UP (the latter's DUG DAYS was a fine enough continuation, and Ed Asner passed away not too long ago), WALL-E's future world could possibly be open to a sequel? I dunno.
The 2010s was mostly sequels. Four originals, only. BRAVE, INSIDE OUT, THE GOOD DINOSAUR, and COCO. INSIDE OUT, of course, has a sequel that's right around the corner. I would be down for a BRAVE sequel honestly, given the fantastical world the original created. Hell, just to make things cooler, bring back Brenda Chapman and actually let her make that movie - as a sort-of last laugh for her after how she was treated by John Lasseter. GOOD DINOSAUR lost money at the box office, so that probably will never get any form of continuation. COCO, I feel, you can't make a sequel to. Its director Lee Unkrich retired, anyways.
Pixar can only sequelize the old favorites so many times. They're certainly trying with a fifth TOY STORY, for sure. I'm sure it'll also make a lot of money. But it's like, when is enough enough? When does the studio create a film that actually is meant to have continuations while still being a complete story? Almost like their equivalent to STAR WARS? Or heck, could they one day break their "original idea" tradition and make... An adaptation of a multi-book series?
I wouldn't rule it out! Remember the Blue Sky movie EPIC, based on the William Joyce book THE LEAF MEN AND THE BRAVE, GOOD BUGS? That was almost a Pixar film in the 2000s! Maybe in order to keep sequels a thing but without having to retread their classic favorites, Pixar could just adapt a book series, hope for the best for the first movie, and then make some sequels to pay for the originals.
But either way, there will be more sequels I feel. Maybe not to the most recent movies, but they've got the mine for it, and Disney certainly wants that easy dough.
I'll also point out that the scoop said more Disney Animation sequels are likely, and yes... So long as the movies do great. STRANGE WORLD and WISH certainly aren't getting sequels, while I feel ENCANTO will get one, or at least a series. RAYA, maybe? They could've given us more WRECK-IT RALPH movies, given how much they can play (hah) with the video game settings, but they decided to do a separate-ways ending with RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET. So that seems to be off the table. Seems like it'll be FROZEN, ZOOTOPIA, and MOANA for a bit. Not sure if a BIG HERO 6 sequel will happen anytime soon, as we had a Disney TV Animation series for that *and* a WDAS-made Disney+ series. Disney can't really sequelize anything further back, like pre-Lasseter, for various reasons. TANGLED got a whole series that really expanded the film's world and did its own thing, a sequel would either have to build off of that or ignore it all completely... And I'm sure that would sit well with fans, haha. The weird thing is, I can see a TANGLED sequel happening because it would play off of nostalgia for the original, which turns 14 this year. But again, would it integrate the TV series and possibly alienate people who have only watched the movie? Or would it ignore the show continuity and upset fans? That's a tricky one, they'd have to really market the show before theoretical release.
There are even rumors that the TIANA series being made for Disney+ will be re-formatted as a movie much like the MOANA series was, but... Who would do the 2D animation if WDAS doesn't truly have a functioning 2D unit? Would it still be Mercury Filmworks, who are said to be doing the animation for it? Or would they have a sort-of Duncan Studio-type house do it? Would it be switched to CGI? A PAPERMAN/WISH-like movie? It raises plenty of questions.
Only time will tell. I find the prospects fascinating to say the least, but I really do hope we hear about more originals from both houses... Especially WDAS... In the coming months.

I know things are absolutely shit in the tags rn. I know that we might possibly lose (we still got 5 days so maybe we can turn it around) but I need to make things clear. This is a long post so bear with me.
Yes I like Alphyne. They were my first queer ship ever. I remember seeing the cheek kiss in the end credits and being so happy for them.
Speaking this as someone who was, and is still a little bit of an Undertale fan.
Y'all really can do better. Reading the tags is so infuriating as there's so musch hate from y'all. I have never in my life seen this much salt and toxicity. And I know the controversies that have happened within the fandom. I thought you guys learned something from them but apparently not.
I'll address some of the hate.
No, Huntlow isn't just a straight ship being tossed at the lesbians (for Christs sake, Alphys is bisexual y'all, it was confirmed in game with the fact she had a crush on Asgore. Get it right.) A massive portion of us HC them as bi, some HC Hunter as trans, there's loads of us who think that Willow is pan, there's some out here who HC them to be a-spec. I know the explicit cannon confirmation isn't there yet, but if you looked, you would know. To us, it's not hetero.
Not it isn't ablelist. Hunter literally cannot do magic by himself, it's part of his arc. He stated it in the third episode he appeared in S2E6. (Spoilers: I know he has magic as of S3E2 but it's not close to what the Boiling Isles "magic" is. He can't cast any spell circles, like how everyone else does) I also saw someone talk about how the "half-a-witch, makes a whole" is also ablelist. My guy, those are parallels in their respective arcs oh my god.
About people calling it a rushed ship and stuff similar to it, no it wasn't going to be if Disney didn't shorten it so hard that we literally have 3 episodes for the final season. There is art about those two from the crew that they've been holding onto for 2 YEARS. Dana has also stated that she's also had some art, but hasn't releases it yet. Meaning that if we weren't shortened, we could have had time. Development. An actual buildup similar to Lumity and Raeda! But no we only have an EPISODE LEFT OF THE SHOW. How can we possibly fit something in for them while wrapping up the plot?!
Thought so. Undertale had the advantage of not being bogged down by a multi million dollar corporation, and yet here you are.
I've seen someone say vote for Alphyne instead of the other ship cuz it sucks, and then in the next fucking tag say they've never even watched the show. What?
And just because they're not seen as queer representation doesn't mean you can't shit on the physical representation. A chubby Asian gal with two dads, self esteem issues and was bullied. A teen with cult trauma and was abused, and has the scars to show. So many people find themselves in these characters. I do so too.
I'm not here to restart a war. If I do, I take full responsibility, no need to attack anyone who defends me. You got any complaints about this reblog, take them to me. Anon asks are open.
Sorry if I pissed off anyone, I truly am. I'm just sick of the hate, the fact that people are receiving full on death threats for not voting Alphyne, people hoping that one of the characters die.
Vote who you want. I don't care. If you hate the ship, I don't care about that. You don't know us, that's fine too. But please, please, I am begging you, let everyone have fun. OP himself has come down to tell y'all to chill out. That hasn't happened with any other poll. So why here? Let this be fun. Don't spread shit, don't send death threats to people for liking what they like. We're not attacking you so why come after us?
Be civil y'all.

The only kind of fair ML blog I can think of is Immaturity of Thomas Astruc (or IOTA). It started out as a blog dedicated to exposing Astruc's behavior on Twitter, but now it's an ongoing critique of the whole show. The guy who runs it tries really hard to give the show a fair shake, and it brings up some interesting concepts and criticisms. The only issues are that it can lean a little heavily on the cynical side, and it's also pretty harsh on Adrien. Might be good to poke through, just to see.
This is in response to this post.
Thanks for the suggestion, but yeah... Reading through episode reviews, it was just... too much. They really seemed to hate Adrien, and it was someone with the same mindset that prompted my original post 😅 For instance, there were points about Adrien shouldn't think of Marinette as one of his best friends because they only spend time together in a larger group, when it's required externally, or by coincidence, which, first, does not mean you can't be very close friends, and, second, ignores the events of episodes it literally cites. Take Kung Food - Adrien went out of his way to go to help Marinette, then continued to hang out with her specifically even after it was shown he didn't need to.
I mean, I know Adrien is not perfect, but it felt a bit like it was missing the point.
I'm not here to yuck anyone's yums. People can enjoy whatever they want for whatever reason. For me, I came to this show understanding the premise of the two superheroes in love with each other without realising it; the love square. That's what drew me in, and that's always what I've liked the show for. Without that aspect, I wouldn't have watched the show in the first place, and I certainly wouldn't have watched more than a few episodes. If I didn't enjoy the love square, I wouldn't be here. Part of why I find it confusing that people watch the show and don't like the love square - I don't get what they like about the show.
The shows writing is flawed at best and just bad at worst. Astruc, certainly, has a lot of issues. I can understand not liking the writing, but it feels weird to me to hatebon the characters for being written badly. Adrien is clearly intended to be a kind, loving boy, who has suffered years of neglect and abuse, who just wants to have friends and be a normal kid - who takes the opportunity as a hero to relax from the public image expected of him to be a little silly (yes, often at inappropriate times, which is one of his defining flaws, because a good character SHOULD have flaws), who is also genuinely enamoured by his partner. He's also a 14 year old boy who doesn't always know the appropriate way to handle his feelings. Him being a bad partner, or manipulative, or refusing to listen - the premise of the show makes it pretty clear that that isn't who the character should be. I get mad at the writers for that, not the character - we've seen time after time that development will get ignored or retconned away to fit a story. We're supposed to believe in Puppeteer 2 that Adrien thinks Marinette hates him? That's a fault of the writing.
Any major character is subject to this. Chloé gets it worst of all, with her redemption arc having a dozen different starts, culminating in her just choosing to help the villain publicly and then straight up acting like an outright villain in her daily life - the harness she used to descend from the ceiling in Gabriel Agreste?? I'd expect that from Looney Tunes, not a show with an ongoing plot that wants the overall story to be taken seriously.
This has becoming super rambly. Sorry to anyone who's actually read all this. Just, for me, I guess the discussion about the show I want to see would be more about the flaws and merits of the writing, not pinning the writers' failures on mishandled characters. For instance, the good: the serialisation of most of season 4, with Alya's arc supporting Ladybug, Luka's arc with Jagged, etc. The bad: the show regressing to treating Cat Noir as a sidekick as time has gone on - and this is more season's 2 and 3 I mean than 4. I mean Fu leaving him in the dark because Plagg failed to bring Adrien to him, only meeting him once to give him the power ups and mot giving him the same knowledge and training as his partner, when Fu should have known from his monitoring of Adrien's situation had badly Adrien needed support. And if you want to do an arc where Cat Noir feels neglected and left out, show that he and Ladybug both have valid perspectives, instead of him just being petulant, because the overall characterisation and narrative tell us that he shouldn't just be petulant, that's a failure on the writing, not the character. Maybe don't go including a remote controlled toy that can be used for anonymous communication in a between season special and then make their inability to contact each other a major plot point of the next season. Maybe have them TALK and understand each other and have apologies go both ways and just uuggghhh
But like, Fu not giving Adrien the best treatment? That doesn't feel necessarily like a flaw on the part of the writing, but a flaw from the character, which can be GOOD for the show. We know Fu isn't perfect, and Su-Han makes this even more clear after the fact. All of that can be used in an effective way to set up Adrien feeling like he's being left out. The setup is there; his decision to leave in Kuro Neko could have been impacted by Nino telling him that he and Alya know about each other's identity - which Cat Noir can't talk to Ladybug about, because he can't explain that he knows Nino well enough to tell him, and Adrien can't talk about because why should it matter to Adrien? But instead he's just angry that he wasn't involved and refuses to wait 5 minutes, or just arrange a time during a patrol or whatever to talk about it, and how they could make arrangements. Say, they could make plans so that, in future, he could handle distributing and collecting some Miraculous. Maybe even storing them separately so they're not all in the same place, liable to ALL get stolen if one is like in the season 3 finale - his petulance here doesn't feel, to me, like a character flaw, but a writing flaw.
Oh, and while we're at it, maybe stop trying to claim that the identity reveal/them dating (which could easily be two separate things, but no, let's just have two alternate timeline episodes essentially exploring the same concept instead of any real shakeup of that formula, except the second one ontributes even less to the overall plot than the first because this time nobody knows anything about it) would lead to Gabriel winning/end of the world, because 1) their relationship is the hook of the show, your unique selling point, and you've already made clear that it's endgame, and 2) it's blatantly false, in both instances it was because Gabriel found out, which had almost nothing to do with any of it - you're telling me that Gabriel catches them because he overhears Adrien say "my Lady", which could easily just be, like, him emulating Cat Noir, or SO many other things, yet he's never simply overheard Adrien talking to Plagg? The problem has NOTHING to do with the relationship, and trying to force us to think that with Cat Blanc and Ephemeral is just insulting.
More rambling. Point is: I want content that recognises both the flaws and merits of the characters in a positive way, and recognises that the failures are a product of the writing - whilst also recognising that the writing has done a LOT of cool stuff.

The ask got too long, I'm sorry
Hi! I hope you don't mind me asking for some writing advice. You see, I'm not a writer, but I want to write a thing. I have a very specific idea of what I want to write, and I planned the whole thing around this idea. But sometimes I feel like the character is being too OOC and instead of checking the source material and other works in the fandom, I don't do anything, writing included. I'm afraid the whole thing will crumble if I were to check, since writing this fic is basically me trying to deal with stuff through a character dealing with similar stuff. Like, it's me projecting my own feelings into a character and building a (hopefully) gut wrenching mini fic around what he would feel. Essentially, to correct their personality to be more canon-like or whatever is to... Not write what I'm trying to write. Does that make sense? So... Do you have any advice? (And please know that "no" is a totally valid answer!) Thank you anyway!
-anonymous
Hi anon! I don't mind at all, though I will say I'm not a professional so everyone take my words with a grain of salt. I am just a gal with a lot of big scary books and a lot of writing failure under my belt to get to be anywhere NEAR the level I'm at now.
And I do get you! This is a complicated question to ask, since I try at all times to be extremely IC to the point of keeping meticulous track of everything, but at the end of the day? Characters are malleable and people interpret different aspects of a character in different ways. For example, people take characters who are (probably) not trans and write them that way and they still come off wholly IC and plausible. The same can be said about neurodivergent headcanons. A lot of these (not all of them) are authors projecting their own circumstances onto characters they love. Are all these things backed up by canon? Hell no! Will your story still resonate if the character is at least recognizable? Yes!
From what it sounds like, you do understand the character you're writing on a fundamental level (since they're the one you're choosing to do this with), but you're putting them in an entirely new situation where you NEED them to react a certain way, which I can relate to, and I'm slowly working to a point where I can balance "keep the character recognizable" with "just write what resonates with me."
And yeah I keep saying that- keep the character recognizable. What does that MEAN? For me, it's usually VOICE. Since how they might react to things and their mental processes are things that are open to interpretation at all times, how they talk is how I gauge what's IC. Keeping track of specific, generalized personality traits helps too, but if a character is dealing with something deeply traumatic, it's not unheard of that they might react differently.
If you don't wanna get bogged down by facts but want to keep track of vocal tics, what I do is watch small clips of them talking or write down every line I can remember them saying if I don't have access (or would rather not). Having a character's "voice" in your head, especially when dealing with POV helps ease the reader into the character's headspace. You don't have to be perfectly IC- the only thing many readers care about is recognizing the character, in my experience.
And that's only if you're writing for readers. You should always write for yourself first. (A lesson I definitely learned a long time ago. /stares at my body of work that is full of things twelve people are into, but I am VERY into it.) Ultimately, if you're doing this to work out some stuff, that's valid and the best advice I can give you is to get the character's voice clearly in your head to help the narration flow and have them react the way you need them to without too much stress. Writing is fun and cathartic and we're not getting paid for this.
I HOPE THIS HELPS. I do not usually give advice.

I'm seeing salt and criticism in the fandom about the plot of the Christmas short already... wtf ppl we don't know anything! HAHAHAHA I love this fandom (I tell you because i need to rant a little and you look like one of the few with sense here in the fandom)
oh sorry i saw this a while back and kept forgetting to answer it, and now that i am answering it i’ve already seen the christmas short!!! oops
edit: this got so long i am so annoying
but yes, i saw a lot of criticism and salt and negativity regarding it and honestly, when i first heard the rumour (months and months and months ago, long before there were any announcements or posters or anything) i was very skeptical and didn’t want to think about it because i didn’t want it to be true, because i was convinced if it was real it was gonna be basically an RTTE episode and just have awful writing and animation and blagh. i just hoped it wasn’t real because the concept of an actual good quality, well written, genuinely really good christmas short seemed way too good to be true and so i thought it would never ever happen
but then!!! as soon as it was officially announced and it was made clear that it’s nothing to do with the netflix/rtte side of things and it was actually gonna be produced properly with lots of care, and the promo pics looked so good, that’s when i let myself be excited! and i’m glad i wasn’t negative about it because honestly, its a 20 minute fluffy christmas short, it wasn’t gonna be a masterpiece but it was DEFINITELY better than i had at first expected!! i loved it so much. it’s adorable.
seriously, i came across some blogs earlier today that i really did not want to come across, basically the very heavily anti-httyd3 and anti-hiccstrid blogs who think their opinions are the correct ones and all of their posts are about how awful and annoying httyd fans are.... anyway, i would rather not come across those blogs but for some reason i stumbled into a bunch of them. and there was so much stupid whining over homecoming. like, i saw a whole essay about how homecoming doesn’t make sense and doesn’t fit with canon and they were calling us all stupid for even enjoying the short because blah blah it doesn’t make any sense.... and like, that attitude is exhausting. its so tiring. can these people log out of tumblr, please.
like ok homecoming doesn’t exactly make sense when you try to fit it into httyd3, in fact i bet if i watch homecoming and then httyd3 afterwards i will immediately notice all the ways in which it doesn’t make sense. but the thing is. who cares??? i don’t care. it’s just a cute, fluffy, funny, very VERY cheesy christmas short that’s only 20 minutes long. of course it’s not gonna be very complex or deep or fit exactly into the film narrative, that’s impossible because the film’s already been done. you can’t really get bogged down with specifics because it’s just.... pointless, like, it’s so pointless and tiring. just watch homecoming and enjoy it for the cute pile of cheese that it is!! they tried their absolute best to make it fit with canon and i applaud them because honestly, i was expecting it to be impossible. (spoiler here!// for example i love how toothless saw hiccup but only when hiccup was covered in a suit so toothless didn’t see his face, he only recognised him by his voice and scent! pretty much explains why toothless didn’t recognise him in the epilogue. and he didn’t get to see astrid in homecoming, so of course he didn’t recognise her in the epilogue either. its not perfect but at least they did address that, like, hiding hiccup in that suit did make sense and was a good trick to stay in canon. the only problem is that toothless didn’t recognise zephyr on the boat in the epilogue, which yeah, makes no sense, but if we chalk it up to him just not noticing her because he’s too preoccupied with the bearded stranger in front of him then we can sort of let it make sense, ya know? obviously not perfect. but they did a very very good job)
oh my god i’m sorry this got so long. maybe one day i’ll find a way to answer asks in much more concise words without going on a tangent (also, thank you so much for saying i’m ‘one of the few with sense in this fandom’, seriously that was r real good for my ego, thank you, and i know what you mean because there are a LOT of people in this little httyd fandom who are just....... well. a bit much😬)
TDLR: i agree there’s a lot of salt and criticism surrounding homecoming and i think it’s dumb and everyone should just relax and enjoy the dumb, cheesy, festive short for what it is:)

I'm just here to promote this again, but if you change the names to trees that are in northern England but never got a warrior named after them, you kill two birds with one stone by not wasting trees etc. that could be good names. NO ONE will think you are going too far from canon by changing the name of some background character!
@halogenwarrior
I knowww but I careee
Mea culpa, Erins, I have sinned (changed Hickorynose to Chicorynose)
I feel better when it at least sounds similar so no one's confused, since with this fandom, there's ALWAYS someone who is madly in love with background character #233 and I respect them for it, y'know? That kind of passion is exactly how the rewrite ended up with Owlclaw/Kestrelflight/Harespring Brothers, which is something I'm super fond of!
plus @nightly-ruse will murder me and then also kill me if I change Olivenose
So far my fixes for the Infringing Five look like this;
Hickorynose -> Chicorynose (wildflower) Myrtlebloom -> (Undecided, her name IS quite cute, she is a more major character in ASC, and bog myrtle is so so close to being ecologically valid. Will likely use the Park Cat thing for her.) Thriftear -> Ivypool collected salt once with Fernsong and was inspired by the beautiful, enduring seaside flowers. Makes a cute detail. Olivenose -> ShadowClan's going to need fresh blood anyway so I'll make her an ex-kittypet and have her survive the Great Battle. One of the regulars really likes her name in particular Cypresspaw -> I may just assign this name to one of the 6 willow species. SIX. Bay willow, white willow, crack willow, goat willow, grey willow, and osier willow. When I made my tree list I screamed at god and just wrote down 'bay willow' for ThunderClan so I could Sort This Mess Out later. Any language formed around this many types of willow would have unique words for each so I'm going to chalk it up to the 'Clanmew Translator' wanting it to be distinct from all the other times willow was translated directly.
Oh, while I'm at it, unsure if I've named the regions I use btw but they are;
Clwyd (northeasternmost part of Wales), Cheshire, Manchester, Merseyside, and Lancashire. Occasionally I'll use a resource from south Cumbria or north Shropshire. Northwestern England, plus a sprinkle of Wales basically (mostly because Clwyd's river ecosystems have more in common with this region than the English neighbors).
I use this region because there's a lot of documentation about Delamere Forest and the really exciting rewilding projects that go on in it, including a wetland initiative that's been incredibly successful. The north also closer matches what canon's setting seems to be; north of a mountain, with a setting sun that touches the western ocean.
You don't get that in southern England, unless you were really willing to make a ton of other sacrifices to be in Dartmoor or Exmoor.
Could also be words 'imported' by kittypets (Kittypet mentions a plant no one has heard and slowly it gets adopted into names somehow, maybe their name is cypress and they explain its a plant to keep their name as a prefix) or carryovers from OLD OLD names (cat named Cypress is in the one original bunches of cats that made the clans, name gets passed around in their 'honor' despite no one having seen a Cypress)
Ohh... I do like that. I have planned for the Park Cats to contribute to the Clanmew language, after all... we can see where Ripplestar's SE goes and take note if there's any characters from it who deserve better; I'll combine their old names with new ones, the way River Ripple did, for Bonefall DoTC
So for example if there's a cat who gets unceremoniously killed for a dumb reason named Flower, I'll make her name Myrtle Flower when she joins River's Clan. Or something of the sort. I've imagined these guys come from further south anyway.
We'll see though, there's a couple of good fixes floating around

You've put so much thought into all the minute details of your world. I'm curious if it ever takes the fun out of world-building for you when you have to make sure that everything has an explanation? All of the universes that I've ever conjured up in my head have been abandoned at one point or another because when I start thinking about the small stuff for too long, I get burned out.
Aww. You gotta not let yourself get too bogged down. Some readers will flail and wave their arms over every little detail and demand an explanation, but you kind of have to work up the nerve to tell them to go pound salt sometimes. We simply cannot - and probably should not - try to explain every detail in an alternate universe. You leave no room for people to stretch their own imaginations if you do that. I mentioned FFVII fandom down there and man, that was such a fun fandom partly because you got to interpret things your own way, come up with your own explanations. The creators didn’t have a Twitter or a Tumblr back in those days where you could get absolutely every question canonically answered. That would have been so lame!
Half the fun of following something and being a fan is exercising your own opinions and insight on it! If an author goes all authoritarian and fills in every gap, it sucks the interaction and fun right out of things. It leaves too little room for the reader to put their own stamp on their experience.
Or at least that’s my opinion.
So man, don’t sweat the minute details! I totally don’t. There’s all kinds of stuff I have given absolutely no thought to. I don’t care about it, it would be masturbatory to obsess over, and readers can have it :)
You are not writing an atlas, Anon! You are not writing an encyclopedia. Keep it fun. Concentrate on the stuff that really matters.

Thanks so much for your informative salt post. I'm still new to the fandom, not involved enough to follow Thomas on Twitter, and I had no idea this was happening. Gross. Even though fans will definitely reclaim the characters though fanart, fanfic, etc., it would be nice if we didn't have to reclaim and remold the story in the first place.
Sorry you have been introduced to the salt so early haha. Thomas just rubs a lot of fans wrong and can be very condescending when people express concerns to him about things. It’s best just to ignore him. Most of the fans are really chill and although many of us collectively don’t like him, we just survive off our own headcanons and content that we share while we live in a bubble and pretend that the show isn’t as bad as it is at times. Try not to let fandom skew your opinions of the show itself. If you enjoy it then awesome! Keep doing that. It’s very easy to get bogged down in fandom salt, and it can disrupt your enjoyment of the show. I’ve been trying to back off commenting on things and analyzing the show too much for those reasons.
