i’m afraid i’m going to need a scene about jungkook teasing oc about the dolphin book because that moment in the last chapter was just too cute
ok :p //
“you know... you could try reading the instructions for once," you grumble, snatching the recipe book from where jungkook had haphazardly tossed it aside.
he has messed up for nth time tonight and your hangry attitude is not having it.
you're done.
your boyfriend is annoying and your food is about to be wasted because jungkook thinks going by instict and kissing you every 5 minutes is how dinner will prepare itself.
“it’s not that hard, jungkook.” you add, tone more stern.
“instructions are for people without instincts,” he replies, leaning lazily against the counter while watching you dice onions.
you pause, glaring at him.
“you don’t have ‘instincts.’ last time you winged it, we ended up eating instant ramen for dinner.”
“and it was delicious,” he shoots back, grin widening when you roll your eyes. “besides, you choose really confusing recipes. why can't we ever just bake a pizza and have sex for dessert?”
“sex for dessert?”
"i could lick whipped cream off your—"
"shut up."
“wow. harsh,” he says, clutching his chest in mock offense. “i'm simply suggesting dessert... shit, ___. i’m starting to feel unappreciated in this relationship.”
“maybe you should start actually helping, then,” you mutter, turning back to your chopping. but the corners of your mouth twitch as he snickers behind you.
“you know,” he starts casually, his voice taking on a mischievous lilt, “for someone who lectures me about not following instructions, you sure don’t apply that same energy to your dolphin book.”
you freeze mid-chop, your brain stuttering. “my what?”
“everything you need to know about dolphins from a to z,” he says, his tone so smug you can practically hear the smirk on his face. “real page-turner, huh?”
you whirl around, cheeks blazing.
“how do you know about that?!”
“doesn't matter, mrs. save the dolphins.” he crosses his arms, leaning against the counter with the smuggest expression you’ve ever seen. "do you think we should go to mexico or something and swim with them?”
your jaw drops.
“no, that's terrifying... and you're the worst.”
“no,” he corrects, pointing at himself. “i’m the best. which is why I’ll forgive you for hiding your secret dolphin knowledge.”
“oh my god,” you groan, shoving past him to grab the frying pan. “i can’t believe this. you’re literally insufferable.”
“and yet,” he hums, trailing after you as you stomp across the kitchen, “you keep me around. i must have some redeeming qualities, huh?”
“none,” you reply sharply, though your voice cracks under your rising embarrassment. you slap the pan on the stove a little harder than necessary, your ears burning.
he doesn’t miss a beat, following a step behind as you start cooking.
“so this is how it feels to be led by a dolphin expert,” he muses. then, as you turn to grab some seasoning, he lets out a low, playful woof right behind you.
you whip around, eyes wide. “did you just—?”
“just a loyal boyfriend following his master,” he teases, grinning like he’s won the lottery. “woof.”
“i am so tired of you,” you say, jabbing a finger at his chest. “you’re such a—”
“what? nerd?” he interrupts, his eyes dancing with amusement. “takes one to date one.”
“ugh!” you spin back toward the stove, your shoulders stiff with frustration, but you can’t hide the smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
behind you, jungkook laughs, his voice warm, and the sound settles something in your chest despite yourself.
you hate him.

EMS AU THINGYYYYYYY 🚑🚑
(lets be honest i have no idea what part im on)
It was a typical day at the base, with soldiers coming and going, and you were in the supply room trying to locate some elusive medical supplies. As you rummaged through a particularly cluttered shelf, a mindless distraction you had put upon yourself, you heard a voice from behind you.
“Hey, doc! You seen the new med kits for the flighters?"”
You turned to see Sergeant Barnes, a gruff but generally friendly man known for his no-nonsense attitude. He had a reputation for being blunt, like someone else who currently occupied 99% percent of your thoughts so you stammered for an answer as the words processed.
“Oh! The ones with the oxygen, that's right, I just put the order in so-” you began.
Barnes cut you off with a chuckle. “Yeah, I actually didn't care- So, you and Ghost, huh?”
You froze, what the fuck did he mean by that? Who else knew of that. “Sorry," you break your continuous breath holding with a panicked laugh, "Sorry, what?”
Barnes leaned casually against the doorframe, clearly enjoying your confusion. “The whole base is talking about you and Ghost. Apparently, you two had quite the night.”
You blinked, trying to piece together what he was saying, if it wasn't for the tears that were threatening your eyes (which you had to admit was a more pathetic than you cared to admit) you would see him look oh so smug. “I’m afraid...I-I don't follow.”
Barnes grinned. “You don’t know? People are saying you and L.T> Riley are more than just colleagues. Got everyone’s tongues wagging.”
You wanted to puke. He had assured you nothing had happened!! He swore on it! Or .. you would assume he would've sworn on it if you happened to ask him.
Before you could respond, the door to the supply room swung open, and Johnny walked in, looking for something—or perhaps someone. When he saw you standing there with a bewildered expression, his eyes lit up.
“Oi, what’s all this then?” Johnny asked, noticing Barnes’s grin.
Barnes raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the timing. “Just filling the doc in on the latest rumor.”
Johnny’s face lit up with recognition, and he turned to you, eyes wide with a mix of amusement and sympathy, "Ah, one of the rookies heard me n Gaz talkin in the galley, lass-"
You started at him, exasperated. "And you were saying-you were saying the lieutenant and I had sex??"
“Welcome to base life,” Johnny said, his grin widening. “Chit-chat here spread faster than the common cold...Anyway, wanna ask you if yer doin alright?”
"Per the request of the big man. " Barns chipped in with a cheeky smile.
Johnny scoffed, "Nonae bee-wax, is it?" A pause, "But yes."
You shook your head, trying to process the absurdity, you had just gotten this position and the idea of your trying to sleep your way through probation was disgusting. So his words went through your head. “ We didn't have sex! I would... I just had a bit too much to drink, and he helped me get back to my- his room. That’s all.”
Johnny stared at you, seeming to be a bit taken back by your ramble, "Right-O, uh... You need ta sit?"
"No I'm fine, the...the med kits," you force the words out, looking to Barns, "I should have them ready within the week."
The man took that as a reasonable answer and left with a shrug, Johnny turned to you with a sympathetic look. “Sorry about that. I didn’t think the gossip would spread so quickly. But, if it helps, the whole thing should blow over soon enough.”
You nodded, looking to him, "Right...and why are you here again?”
A short moment passed before he spoke again, "Simon wanna me to check in on you?"
"If he is oh-so-concerned he can talk to my fucking face like a man." You snap back, you take a breath, "Sorry, I'm sorry, this is the tenth time someone has come to me and spoken about this stupid- stupid!-"
"Gossip?"
"Shut up." You huff, "Tell him I'm fine."
"you don't look fine." Johnny spoke quietly, when he saw you look back to him he relented, "You're perfect!! wonderful even! Reporting that back."
--
"Hold on-" Mary's laughter rung through the phone, "Wait what the fuck!? You, sweet little ol you, FUCKED the masked freakazoid?? Girl-"
"No!" You cry out from where you had buried your face into the pillow, "We didn't! i got drunk and he helped me and the next thing I know is that i'm in his room and in his clothes and I walk out and I feel so...UGH"
Mary laughs for what you thought was a solid minute, "Jesus, so...did you...ya know?"
"No!! For the millionth time. I swear if I hear the S word one more time I will throw myself off a cliff."
"Right, well, it'll blow over. everyone will go to pick on the new topic in like...five hours."
You turn your face to stare at the wall, the screen of your phone lighting up the ceiling, "this sucks."
"Eh, it sucks more when you don't have the scary man obsessed with you." "EXCUSE ME-" "Oh wow look at the time! Gotta go!"
--
"She alright?"
Johnny winced to the first question that came out of Simons mouth and he shrugs, the words not quite forming, "She...She alive, al'igh." The silence was deafening, sure he knew his friend was generally apathetic and somewhat cruel at times but in the same way he had found Simon cared for him he also, somehow, cared for you.
So he sits down on the egde of the building and shrugs, "As long as she ain't the one keepin ya alive I feel like your safe."
Simon nodded, "I'll go have a chat."
" HORRIBLE IDEA?????"
_--
Am I aware I have little zero idea where I left off in this series, yes. But I vaguely remember and I'm lazy so here you go!!

HELLO LOVES <3
A/N ; This is just a repost from my former account- I wanted to post something Haikyuu related since the release of the 'Dumpster Battle' movie and why not start with my favorite boy? This is also technically my first real post on this account so woohoo! Warnings : none other than Kuroo being a teasing bastard. Gender Neutral reader/y/n. Just fluff- Also this isn’t proofread because I happen to never proofread my shit so I apologize for any mistakes.
Tumblr media
+ If you were the type of person to get embarrassed by what Kuroo considers 'cute things you do' he's never letting that situation/what happened go. Maybe he'll stop bringing it up and you're relieved that maybe he finally forgot and let it go- wrong. He remembers a lot of things especially about you silly + He’s just laughing it off whenever you start yelling at him. telling him not to talk about it and shut up or just your reactions in general whenever he brings up the “embarrassing situation” always makes him laugh. + Seriously, he's never letting it go. It'll be at a random time, random day, you two silently enjoying each others company or when you two are hanging out (with or without people around) and he'll just : "Hey y/n remember when you-" "NO. I don't- LET IT GO ALREADY" + He’d also try to tell other people about it like- “Oh yeah did I tell you? Y/n did the most hilarious thing yesterday! So they-” and you instantly drag him away or interrupt him by bringing up a new subject. And he’s just looking down at you snickering with that smug smile of his- + Aside from the topic of him loving to tease and embarrass you. Kuroo strikes me as the guy to LOVE physical affection and words of affirmation. He's constantly touching you or saying sweet things to you no matter what. When he's with you at school? Or really just anywhere in public. He's holding your hand or his hand rests on your waist/top of your head, or he's leaning down and resting his head on top of yours. He'd give you kisses on the forehead, hand, lips, cheek, anywhere and anytime. He does not care about PDA !! To an extent- + This also includes when you two are also just casually talking, you two are conversing about something dumb you did and he'll just sigh and shake his head with a smile before poking your forehead or cheek, or maybe pulling on your cheek while making fun of you for what you did. He just likes to poke at your face a lot during conversations actually. + He doesn't try to hide the fact he has a massive crush on you. He's constantly waiting outside your class right as it ends, leaning against the doorframe and looking at you with a smirk. He's not shy about the fact that he'll shamelessly send you winks from afar. Whether it's in class or cafeteria. If you pass by him in the hallway he'll look down at you with that smug smile and in that short period of time and greet you with a "Hey pretty/handsome" and then continue walking like it was nothing. + SOMETIMES a lot of times actually. You'll fluster him though without even realizing it. This is a common occurrence when you're staring at him, he'll blink at you for a moment, taking in your appearance..the way you looked at him, the way your eyes look, the way you slowly blink at him, the way- he'd stop is thoughts there before glancing away, trying to hide the blush on his cheeks before saying something about your staring to tease you.
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading !!! I would’ve wrote more for the people who don't really get embarrassed (I envy you) or just more in general but tumblr kept crashing and I had to rewrite this like five times so- NO. I also ran out of ideas.. Anyways I'm accepting requests !! I write for JJK, CSM, HAIKYUU, TOKYO REV, and more !! No NSFW. Though I may be very late to requests so I apologize in advance...Have a lovely day / afternoon / night loves ♥

A/N We are back at it again with a new chapter! Yall when I tell you the vision is visioning, the smut is smutting, and just everything is going wild! Thank you guys for tuning in! Liking, commenting, reblogging, sharing, the whole nine yards! I'm forever grateful. Also remember pudding is 21 here this will add to the plot trust me!.  And now without further ado, let the adventure begin!
Sanji X Reader, Sanji x Y/N, One Piece x Reader.
Sanji POV…
Morning has arrived, and I sit in my room, the sound of Germa soldiers training echoing through the walls. Sighing, I can’t help but feel a mix of anger and disgust. “Just how long do you plan on sitting there?” I ask Reiju, who’s sprawled out on the sofa, looking entirely too comfortable.
“Don’t be mean. Shouldn’t you be happy to see your long-lost sister?” she replies, her legs crossed casually.
“Stop saying that. I cut my ties with you, and I will not repeat myself!” I grit my teeth, trying to suppress the rage bubbling within me.
“I have nothing in common with someone who hangs tasteless art like that,” I say, pointing at the ridiculous portrait of our father that hangs on the wall.
“It’s a celebration of our triumph conquering the North Blue!” Reiju insists, as if that makes it any better. “It’s called The Conquest of the North Blue. It’s Father’s dream to rule over Germa as he once did. It’s funny; I think it’s natural for men to be drawn to power and glory.”
“Look at Ichiji,” she continues, and my blood runs cold. “He was drawn to your crewmate, Princess Y/N, and he is set to marry her.”
The mention of Y/N makes my stomach churn. I can’t shake the image of her with Ichiji, the thought of her being tied to that bastard gnawing at my insides. “I actually met her, too. Quite the personality, she is. She gave Yonji a run for his money before I stepped in and knocked some sense into him,” Reiju says, her tone almost admiring.
“But she is now to be wed to Ichiji, even if she refuses the marriage,” she adds, her voice dripping with amusement. I can feel my fists clenched tightly, my teeth grinding as I suppress the surge of anger rising within me.
“Why don’t you take advantage of your royal blood and seize the day rather than playing with your crewmates?” she taunts, leaning back into the sofa, her eyes glinting with mischief.
“Go to hell,” I snap back, frustration bubbling over.
“Now, now, would you talk that way to these handmaids who await your beck and call?” Reiju smirks as one of the handmaid's steps forward, bowing her head.
“How may we serve... young master?” she says, and for a moment, my heart skips a beat.
“No freakin' way!” I exclaim, my heart pounding in my chest. As heart eyes adorn my eye.
“Why fight your bloodline, dear brother? War is profitable, which is why we live in luxury. Let the minions fight in combat,” Reiju continues, and I can feel my muscles tense at her words.
“Does that not sound appealing?” she adds, gesturing to the handmaid as she pours wine into a glass, her expression smug. “We Vinsmokes have earned that right through the sheer power of our military might. You have that blood in your veins.”
“I don’t give a damn! I’m not getting married! I’m already engaged to Y/N!” I declare, my voice rising. It’s a lie, but it’s the only way I can stand my ground against her taunts.
“Oh? Y/N?” she raises an eyebrow, amusement dancing in her eyes. “Pudding is a fine woman.”
“Okay, and?! She’s nothing like Y/N!” I shoot back, my voice laced with irritation.
“Well, she’s already Ichiji’s bride-to-be, and from what I hear, once she arrives, Ichiji will have her in his quarters until the wedding to get her accustomed to the idea of sharing a bed.” Reiju says, her smile growing wider. “He already has the rings picked out, as well as the floral arrangements for the fiery princess.”
The words hit me like a punch to the gut. Ichiji is planning to move in with her, to have her all to himself. I feel the anger boil within me, my heart racing as I imagine Y/N in Ichiji's clutches. “You’re lying! He wouldn’t dare!” I retort, but deep down, the fear gnaws at me.
“Oh, I assure you, dear brother,” Reiju replies, a smug grin plastered across her face. “Ichiji gets what he wants, and he wants Y/N. Just like Father wants power, and you… you will just have to accept your fate.”
“Never!” I shout, pushing back against the helplessness I feel. “I’ll find a way to stop this. I refuse to let any of you dictate my life or Y/N’s.”
“To tell you the truth, I’m quite fond of her,” Reiju says, her tone teasing. I can feel my teeth grinding together, frustration bubbling to the surface as her words sink in.
Suddenly, the doors to my room swing open, revealing the man I hate the most. “Father, what brings you here?” Reiju asks, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
“Are you still in here sulking?” he retorts, dismissively waving his hand as if my feelings are nothing more than a passing breeze.
“You bastard,” I mutter under my breath, my hands clenched into fists in my pockets.
“Show me some respect, son,” he snaps back, his eyes narrowing at me.
“Don’t call me that! I already have a father, and it’s not you!” I shoot back, my voice filled with defiance.
“Seems like you roughed up Yonji a bit, considering he’s strong,” he continues, an infuriating smirk creeping onto his face.
“Well, I guess that makes me stronger,” I say, matching his defiance with my own.
“Why don’t you meet me outside? A real man would use his fists to do the talking,” he challenges, clenching his fists tightly as he steps closer, the tension in the room thickening.
“A real man wouldn’t need to resort to violence to prove his worth,” I reply, my voice steady despite the anger coursing through me. “But if it’s a fight you want, I won’t back down.”
We made it outside, the Germa army encircling us like vultures. “That’s Master Sanji?” one of the soldiers whispers, a mix of awe and skepticism in their voices.
“I trust you’re prepared?” Judge asks, his voice dripping with condescension.
“Anytime you’re ready,” I reply, dismissing him as if he’s just another obstacle in my path.
“Time to duel!” he shouts, launching his blade at me with a speed that demands respect. But I’ve been trained for this moment; I dodge easily, feeling the adrenaline surge through me as the crowd begins to cheer.
“Once the tea party ends, I’m booking it back to my crew! I’m not marrying Pudding; I’m engaged to Y/N!” I yell, determination fueling my every word.
“Ichiji’s bride?! Now you’re just spouting off!” he laughs, swinging his blade again. I sidestep his attack, swiftly landing on the ground with my heart racing.
“This is all about strengthening your forces with Big Mom, right? It wouldn’t matter what I do after,” I pressed, determined to stand my ground.
“You don’t understand! You’ll stain the Vinsmoke name! Big Mom would punish us for treachery!” His voice dripped with frustration, and I could see the anger boiling beneath the surface.
“I don’t care about your family name!” I shot back, my fists clenched tightly. “All I care about is saving my crew and stopping Y/N’s marriage to Ichiji!”
“Y/N?” he sneered, the name sounding bitter on his lips. “ Her marriage to Ichiji is set in stone! Even if it was arranged! Pirate or not, she is still bound to marry!”
“Bound? To what? An arrangement made without her consent?” I countered, feeling the fire ignite within me. “She deserves more than this life, more than what you can offer her!”
The crowd around us was electric, their murmurs of disbelief and intrigue amplifying the tension in the air. Judge swung his blade once more, but I dodged again, feeling the thrill of the fight pulsing through my veins.
“He blocked the blade with his leg,” one of the Germa soldiers remarked, eyes wide with surprise.
“My feeble son I once knew wields Haki now?!” Judge exclaimed, his voice dripping with a mix of disbelief and disdain. I felt my teeth clench in frustration at his mocking tone.
“Fetch a sword!” he yelled, launching one directly at me. The blade spun through the air, glinting ominously in the sunlight.
“Take it. What’s the matter? Surely you haven’t forgotten my teachings,” he spat, as I easily dodged the weapon. I kicked the sword away, sending it flying into the distance.
“If you knew me at all, you’d know I don’t use that crap,” I shot back, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it with a flick of my lighter. I took a deep drag, feeling the familiar comfort wash over me amidst the chaos. “Get this through your skull: my hands are for cooking only.”
“That’s absurd!” he barked, his frustration palpable. “Unless I’m going to cook you up a meal, I won’t use blades or swords for that matter!” i said.
“Are you still making rat food? Service isn’t fit for royalty!” he retorted, his disdain cutting deep.
“Why resist the marriage?! Don’t you know what’s good for you?!” he shouted as he launched an aerial attack with his Raid Suit. I barely managed to evade his strike, the wind from his attack rushing past me.
The duel continued for a while, our movements a blur of strikes and dodges, the Germa soldiers cheering for my father. But he was relentless, using every trick he had up his sleeve. With a sudden burst of speed, he launched an attack that knocked me to the ground.
“Little Sanji,” I said, “I’ve got something I want to ask: do you owe someone respect just because you’re related by blood? Can’t think of one, huh? I’m sorry.” memories of my suffering flashing through my mind. Just as I was about to retaliate, he seized one of his own Germa soldiers, using him as a shield. My attack faltered as I realized what he was doing.
His electricity crackled to life, sending a shockwave through the air that sent me flying once more. I hit the ground hard, grit and dirt filling my mouth as I spat it out in anger.
After a grueling few minutes, the duel finally came to an end, and I was dragged back to my room, my body aching from the blows I had endured. Reiju was waiting for me, her expression a mix of concern and exasperation as she tended to my wounds.
“I’m surprised... you’re tough as nails,” she remarked, applying a band-aid over my forehead with a gentle touch. “I still can’t believe you’re still the same Sanji. You really are hopeless.”
“You can skip the small talk,” I said, exhaling a cloud of smoke from my cigarette, the familiar sensation offering me a momentary escape from the chaos of my life. “After I’m done with this damn tea party and end Y/N’s marriage, I’m out.”
“Then we will both be free from this curse,” I replied.
“I was hoping you were less than a scumbag, but you’re just worse. Get out of here; you’re a stranger to me!” I snapped, turning my back to face him. I didn’t want to deal with the remnants of my family ties right now.
“No chance,” Judge’s voice echoed from the doorway, making me tense. “Do I need to remind you that’s my blood in your veins?”
I glared at him, fists clenched, resisting the urge to lash out. “That was just an example of how loyal the Germa soldiers are,” he continued. “Willing to give their lives at a moment's notice, without hesitation.”
“They’re just puppets for you to control,” I spat, my voice low with contempt. “Why the hell do you want to use them? To conquer the North Blue again?”
A smirk crossed his face, his eyes glinting with that familiar arrogance. “Quick with the uptake, aren’t you? By forming this alliance with Big Mom, we’ll strengthen our forces tenfold,” he declared, his voice brimming with pride as if the outcome were inevitable.
“And since the princess happens to be a fighter and warrior, we’ll use her skills as well,” he added, his gaze hardening, as if Y/N’s fate had already been decided. The way he spoke of her, like a tool in his arsenal, only fueled my anger.
"Honestly, I did not intend to ruffle any feathers," Judge began, his voice cold as ice. His eyes gleamed with the same ruthlessness I had grown to despise. "In order to secure this alliance, Big Mom requires a blood relative. Since I wasn’t about to let my sons be used for that demented woman’s lineage, I remembered... years ago, I had another child. You, Sanji, will be the sacrifice. I haven’t changed my opinion of you—you’re still worthless in my eyes."
My stomach twisted in anger, but before I could respond, I heard a faint click. A cold metal sensation wrapped around my wrists, and I looked down to see small, golden cuffs. "What the hell is this?" I spat, my voice rising with alarm.
He grinned, enjoying the confusion on my face. "You remember the collars the Celestial Dragons use on their slaves, don’t you? These work the same way. The cuffs will detonate if you try to run—your hands will be blown to bits," he explained, as if it were a casual conversation.
I could feel my breath quicken as the realization set in. "Take them off!" I shouted, my hands trembling in panic.
He smirked, completely unbothered by my reaction. "Oh no, I don't think so. You value your hands, don't you? For cooking, for fighting, for... Y/N?" He paused, watching my expression change as he mentioned her name. "Ah, yes. You care for her deeply, don't you?"
I froze, dread pooling in my gut.
"See, we have a special hostage—a certain someone Y/N is quite fond of from her training days. Goes by the name King, if I recall correctly." His tone grew darker, more menacing. "If Y/N doesn’t cooperate, he and everyone on that island will be wiped out. She’ll have no choice but to go along with the wedding to Ichiji."
My blood ran cold. He was playing with every piece on the board, ensuring none of us had any escape.
"You’ll marry Pudding," he continued, as if it were the simplest decision. "And Y/N will marry Ichiji. If either of you even think about defying this plan, you’ll lose your hands... and Y/N will lose her loved ones."
I could feel the rage bubbling beneath the surface, but I was trapped, completely powerless. My fists clenched at my sides, the weight of the cuffs heavy against my skin. He had me cornered, and there was nothing I could do.
"You bastard," I whispered, my voice thick with fury and fear.
As the door clicked shut, leaving me alone in my room, my father’s words echoed in my mind. "You and the princess can’t escape." The weight of his declaration felt like chains around my body, suffocating me. The thought of Y/N, bound by this twisted marriage to Ichiji, made my chest tighten. I walked to the balcony, my feet heavy as if the cuffs had already bound more than my hands—they had trapped my soul.
The cool night air hit my face, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me. I leaned against the railing, gripping it so tightly my knuckles turned white. The future looked bleak. No way out for Y/N, no way out for me. Both of us tangled in this nightmare of arranged marriages. I wanted to scream, to break something, to tear down everything that had been forced on us. But all I could do was grip my hair tightly, my fingers trembling with frustration, and yell into the dark sky. "Damn it!" The words echoed, but the hopelessness remained, sinking deeper into me.
Y/N POV…
I kept running in what felt like circles, my legs covered in dirt and my dress torn and tattered, with a few cuts marring my skin. One of the sleeves hung limply from my shoulder, but I couldn’t stop to assess the damage. I had to find Nami. Ever since Brulee took Carrot and Chopper, Nami had been my only hope, and I wouldn’t abandon her now.
I had tried to help Chopper as much as I could until he insisted I run, his voice trembling with urgency. The weight of my sword pressed against my back felt comforting, a reminder that I could still fight. Along with it, I clutched the small bag holding my two hidden blades and the thigh halter, my resolve growing stronger with every step.
Suddenly, my foot caught on a twisted root, and I stumbled, skinning my knee against the rough ground. I winced in pain, but I couldn't afford to stop. Not now. Not when my friends were in danger. Just then, I felt another shift in the air, a warning that danger was closing in.
I clenched my fist in rage, adrenaline surging through my veins. "That’s it!" I shouted, determination igniting within me. I pressed the red gemstone on my sword, and flames erupted along the blade, casting a fiery glow around me. The heat radiated off the metal, filling me with a sense of power I desperately needed.
With newfound purpose, I slashed through the underbrush, creating a path as the forest began to blaze around me. The flames danced, devouring the foliage in a brilliant display of orange and red, illuminating the darkness and pushing back the shadows that threatened to engulf me.
The crackling of the fire was a stark contrast to the pounding of my heart, but I pushed forward, each step fueled by the desire to reunite with Nami and Luffy. The blaze would draw attention—both from those who wished to help and those who sought to harm. But I didn’t care. I was done hiding, done running in circles.
Suddenly, I saw Nami and Luffy with the same giant from before. “Nami! Luffy!, I yelled as I made my way towards them. I hugged Nami and Luffy, relieved that they were okay. Nami begins to tell Luffy how we got separated. “I kept looking for you too, Y/N, alone until darkness fell,” Nami said, her voice carrying a hint of fatigue as she recounted the events.
“That's what matters,” Luffy said, stretching his arms out with a grin. “We’re all back together now! Alrighty then, it’s time to rescue Chopper and Carrot from that lady. Where are they?”
“Everything happened right here,” Nami explained, her eyes scanning the twisted forest. “But someone has to know something.” She turned to the giant looming underground. “Just say something already! Those weird monsters and Brulee didn’t even touch you!”
The giant turned his gaze towards Luffy and me, his curiosity piqued. “By the way, you two look pretty tough.”
Luffy scratched his head. “Thanks, I guess?”
“But what about you?” the giant asked, his attention shifting to Nami.
“Yeah! I’m strong as hell, what of it?” Nami snapped, her confidence unshaken.
The giant finally began to speak, “Well, once those things were given orders, they don’t stop until their task is completed.”
“Then why did they stop chasing us?” Nami asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
“Well…” I started, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly. “I might have set a path on fire to get to you guys...”
Nami’s eyes widened in a mix of surprise and exasperation. “Y/N!”
“Hey, I had to make sure I found you both! It was either that or getting lost in circles,” I defended, still slightly out of breath from all the running.
Luffy laughed, seemingly unbothered. “That’s smart! Good job, Y/N.
The giant shifted uneasily as he began to explain, “Big Mom has the abilities from consuming the Soul-Soul Fruit. She can manipulate souls, taking fragments of a person’s life. The citizens in Totoland must choose between ‘Life or Leave,’ and when they give up part of their soul—equivalent to one year of their lifespan—everything around them becomes animated.”
He paused, his voice deepening. “We lovingly call these whimsical creatures ‘Homies,’ as they are infused with the essence of people’s souls. That... is the true nature of Totoland.”
I felt my stomach twist at the thought. “I’ll say this again... I hate it here!” I declared, my voice echoing in frustration.
Luffy, frowning, crossed his arms. “Why didn’t you tell us earlier?! You’ve been watching us this whole time!”
“Yeah, just spit it out already!” Nami and I demanded together, glaring at the giant.
The giant’s eyes darkened with a mix of sadness and regret. “A very long time ago… Big Mom and I were once married… as husband and wife.”
“WHAT?!” All three of us shouted in unison, utterly shocked by his confession.
I could hardly believe it. This giant, who seemed so detached from everything, was once married to Big Mom? It felt like the entire world had been flipped upside down.
“This is crazy!” I exclaimed, still trying to process the wild revelations.
“So, you and Big Mom were…?” I asked, trailing off in disbelief.
“We even had two daughters together,” the giant continued, his voice filled with sadness. “But we separated. It’s not like me and the Homies are friends or anything; I’m beneath them.”
Suddenly, we heard loud thudding sounds approaching fast.
“What’s going on?” I asked, glancing around as the ground shook beneath us.
“It’s getting closer!” Nami warned, her eyes wide with concern.
“Who’s this guy?” I asked, spotting a figure emerging from the trees.
Someone appeared, yanking the first giant out of the ground by force.
“Get back, you guys!” Luffy shouted as we all stepped back cautiously.
Once the dust settled, we realized something shocking. “He’s not a giant... his head is just too big!” we all said in unison, completely taken aback.
“Don’t think we wouldn’t know you’d be spilling information to the enemy!” a voice growled. It was Cracker, one of Big Mom’s commanders.
“I just wanted to give my blessing to my daughter! I heard she was married!” the giant explained, desperate. “I also heard my daughter ran away… Lola!”
“Lola?!” Nami and I exclaimed at the same time.
“Wait… could it be?” I muttered, turning to Nami.
Nami’s eyes widened in realization. “Lola told us that her mom was a pirate… so it was Big Mom! I can’t believe it. This guy… is Lola’s father?”
Suddenly, a voice from behind shouted, “It’s the bird and the rabbit guy!”
“What?!” I turned, spotting Randolph, the rabbit, and his crane mount approaching.
Before they could get any closer, Cracker used Haki, halting them instantly.
“Wait a second… was that Haki?!” Luffy exclaimed.
“They all screamed in terror!” I added, watching as the homies withered away by Cracker’s presence.
“This is about to be a long, long night, you guys,” I said, gripping the hilt of my sword tightly.
“Well, Randolph…” Cracker began, his voice low and menacing. Suddenly, the rabbit and bird began speaking.
“You mean to tell me they can talk?!” I blurted, bewildered by the absurdity of it all.
Cracker continued, “You know Mama likes to stay ahead of the curve, especially after Strawhat Luffy defeated Doflamingo. And this princess here—” He glanced in my direction. “—also fought with him twice. She assumed Brulee would have trouble, so she sent me.”
Suddenly, Brulee’s voice echoed from afar. “Did my ears deceive me, or did I hear my dear brother correctly?”
“It’s official—I hate it here times three,” I muttered, completely done with the chaos surrounding us.
“It’s the tree monster!” Luffy exclaimed.
“She’s back, huh?” I sighed. “Looks like someone’s asking for a round two.”
“If she ordered me to off them, I would’ve done it!” Brulee hissed, emerging from the shadows.
“That’s right!” the talking tree Homie added. “We are the Seducing Woods team. We would’ve never let a single one of you live.”
I narrowed my eyes at the tree, ready to retaliate. “Listen, Branch,” I said defiantly.
“It’s Brulee!” she snapped back.
“Same thing,” I retorted, gripping the gemstone on my sword, ready to strike. “Looks like you’re really asking for a round two.”
Before I could make my move, Cracker interrupted us, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. "It doesn't matter, Brulee. By tomorrow at noon, the Vinsmokes will be arriving at the Whole Cake Chateau, making time a precious commodity. Forming a family connection with the Vinsmokes has been a long-awaited goal that Mama has been working towards. She’ll finally be able to obtain Germa 66's military might and scientific technology," he explained, his eyes gleaming with malice.
I tensed, knowing where this was going.
"And the princess here," Cracker added, his gaze locking onto me, "she’s also set to marry the other Vinsmoke. He’s expecting her there as well."
My heart sank, anger swirling inside me at the mention of the arranged marriage. My grip tightened on my sword. "Over my dead body," I growled.
Nami shot me a worried glance, while Luffy clenched his fists, ready to fight. "We're not letting that happen!" he declared with his usual fire.
Brulee stepped forward, her sneer mocking us. "I know that already," she said with confidence, snapping her fingers as the clones around us shimmered and reverted back into animals. "She turned them back into animals!" Luffy exclaimed, wide-eyed.
"Wait a second, how can a tree talk?" Luffy added, confused.
I rolled my eyes. "See? This is why I nicknamed her Branch."
"It’s Brulee!" she snapped back, clearly irritated. "Besides, can a tree do this?" She held up a mirror, revealing Carrot and Chopper trapped inside.
"Luffy!" cried Chopper. "Luffy, Nami, Y/N, come and set us free!" Carrot added, tears in her eyes.
"Carrot! Chopper!" I shouted, stepping closer, my heart racing. "What happened? How did you get in there?" Luffy asked, bewildered.
Brulee smirked. "I took them to my mirror world. I can use a tricky ability, so you'd better be careful." "I’ve got these fools right where I want them," she taunted, suddenly dropping the mirror.
Instinctively, I lunged forward, catching it just before it could shatter on the ground. "I’ve got you guys," I breathed, my grip tight on the fragile surface. Relief washed over me, but it was short-lived.
Out of nowhere, Brulee emerged from the mirror, her fist connecting with my face before I had time to react. Pain shot through my lip as I hit the ground, the mirror slipping from my grasp and shattering into countless pieces.
"Y/N!" Nami screamed, rushing to my side. I groaned, wiping the blood from my mouth as I struggled to my feet, my sword still clenched in my hand.
"What happened?!" Luffy shouted, his voice laced with concern.
"We’re fine!" Carrot’s voice came from the broken shards. "It didn’t hurt us."
"Nothing happened here in the mirror world," Chopper added.
"That’s good news, at least," Luffy sighed, but his fists remained clenched, his eyes narrowed at Brulee.
"Luffy, listen!" Chopper said urgently, his voice echoing from the fragments of the shattered mirror. "We found out something important!"
Just as Chopper was about to reveal something important, Cracker grabbed the giant, ready to strike him down. Luffy quickly intervened.
“Second Gear! Are you ready? Gomu Gomu no… Red Hawk!” Luffy shouted as he lunged at Cracker.
Cracker managed to block the fiery punch, sprouting another arm. “You have a third arm?!” Luffy exclaimed, his excitement showing even in the midst of the battle.
Nami and I exchanged a glance as Luffy continued his relentless attack. “Nami, Y/N! Find a safe spot, okay?” Luffy called out, his eyes never leaving Cracker.
“Right!” we both nodded. I sheathed my sword once more, clutching my bag tightly as we sprinted away. The homies around us began to shift threateningly, but Nami quickly flashed Lola’s vivre card, halting them in their tracks.
“This must be Big Mom’s vivre card,” Nami said, her confidence rising as the homies froze.
"Whoa, Luffy!" Nami shouted as Luffy was knocked back toward us, the tree behind him slashed clean through.
“Damn it, this guy sucks!” Luffy grumbled, shaking off the dirt.
“You shall learn to respect Thousand Arm Cracker!” Cracker roared, tapping his body as even more limbs sprouted.
“This just got weirder,” I muttered.
Luffy continued to engage Cracker, but he was struggling. “Luffy, you can’t turn this into an all-out fight!” Nami warned.
“We need to find Sanji and leave this demented place,” Nami added, her voice laced with urgency.
“And stop my wedding,” I chimed in, determination burning in my eyes.
Cracker turned his gaze toward me, “Insolent brat, gaze upon my swords! Best remember the name—Pretzel!”
“Yeah, no. That’s just going to make me hungry,” I said, feeling my stomach rumble.
“Huh? How can you call it one of a kind when you’re holding six of them?” Nami questioned, raising an eyebrow.
“That’s a good point,” the giant added from the sidelines.
Suddenly, Cracker launched Luffy farther away. Nami and I froze in panic as he disappeared into the distance.
“Oh no!” I exclaimed, watching as Cracker began his pursuit.
“Even Luffy is having a hard time,” Nami muttered in disbelief.
“Hang on, Luffy! We’re coming!” I shouted as we began running toward him, only to be blocked by a massive tree trunk.
“Great, what now?” I groaned, frustrated by yet another obstacle.
Brulee cackled from above. “Not so fast, missy. You forgot—I’m still here.”
I smirked, enjoying the chance to rile her up. “Well, you kind of blend in with the trees, Branch, so it was easy to forget.”
“It’s Brulee!” she snapped, her anger flaring.
“Looks like we have to fight them, Nami,” I said, clenching my fists and activating the electrical and fire charges.
“The Worst Generation, huh? Whoop-de-doo,” Brulee sneered. “You all spout nonsense about your captains becoming King of the Pirates, but it always ends the same way… in despair.”
She continued with a smug look, “You wander into Mama’s territory, and you’ll learn the same lesson Captain Kidd did… the same as Apoo, Gang Bege, and even the Mad Monk Urouge. Only Bege had the sense to join us. The rest? They never even caught a glimpse of Mama.”
The mention of Kidd’s name made my eyes widen in shock. I silently gasped, my heart racing, and Nami noticed, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. “Y/N…” Nami whispered, trying to piece it together, but I quickly averted my gaze, unwilling to reveal anything just yet.
Brulee began to talk about Mad Monk Uroge, who had managed to take down one of the four Sweet Generals. “Mama was furious; she sent Brother Cracker to finish the job,” she said, pulling out another mirror and laughing wickedly. “Your friend has nowhere left to run. I imagine he’s on his last breath by now.”
She suddenly dropped the mirror, but it didn’t crack. Instead, it landed in front of me. “She’s gone,” Nami said, fear creeping into her voice. We both leaned closer to the mirror, seeing our reflections distorted by the shimmering surface.
“Nami, get behind me,” I instructed, my heart pounding. Suddenly, the mirror revealed Brulee’s face as she began to step out slowly, her expression twisted in delight. “Listen closely, you’ve reached your final stop in the New World. You want to fight an Emperor? You fools won’t even get close to Mama,” she sneered. “Infiltrating the tea party, stopping these weddings, and then walking out alive with your crewmates? This forest will be your final resting place.”
The mirror began to turn into liquid, and panic surged through me. “Nami, run!” I shouted, but before I could react, Brulee’s hand shot out, grabbing my left leg and pulling me down hard against the ground.
“Welcome to Mirror World! You’re going to love it here!” she cackled, and I thrashed violently, trying to free myself. I lifted my right leg, aiming a tremor kick at her head, but she caught my other leg, twisting me around like a rag doll.
“Oh no, Y/N!” Nami cried out, helpless to intervene as I clawed at the ground, desperately trying to reach for my sword. My fingers dug into the dirt, as I finally reached the hilt of my sword digging it into the ground, gripping it tightly as Brulee’s nails raked against my legs.
“Ahh!” I screamed, a mix of pain and fury coursing through me. “Let me go!”
“Come on, come on! Come to old Brulee!” she taunted, her grip tightening as she tried to pull me towards her. My arms felt like they were slipping away, the weight of her strength bearing down on me. I couldn’t pull out my blades; she’d still try to drag me in!
The once-white fabric of my dress was now stained and torn as I struggled against her grasp. “I can’t wait to teach you a lesson,” she said with a sadistic grin.
“I’m not going to let go!” I shouted back defiantly. “This branch really is annoying!”
“Nami, stay back!” I yelled, not wanting her to get pulled into this mess.
“Pound! Help her!” Nami shouted desperately, trying to rally our ally.
“Let her go, Brulee!” Pound said, almost landing a punch on her. Finally, with a growl of annoyance, Brulee released me, sending me flying into a nearby tree. I landed hard, the impact jarring my body, and I breathed slowly, wincing as her nails had left deep marks in my skin.
“Y/N!” Nami called out, rushing toward me. She helped me back up, concern etched on her face. As we began to walk back toward Pound and Brulee, I stopped her.
“Nami, wait.” I reached for my thigh halter and blades, securing them firmly against my thigh, feeling their familiar power surge through me as the blades glowed a bright white. “Here, take this bag.” I handed her my satchel, and she slung it over her shoulder.
“Thanks a bunch, Pound,” Nami said, a hint of determination in her voice.
“Are you serious? Nice going, Pound! You just committed treason against Mama!” Brulee spat, her tone sharp and accusatory.
“But I didn’t mean to,” Pound stammered, glancing between Nami and Brulee as if trying to gauge the situation.
“You’re dead to us, and soon you’ll be just dead,” Brulee hissed, her voice dripping with malice as she struggled to regain her footing.
Before she could recover, Nami took a step forward, her expression fierce. “Let’s end this!” With a swift motion, she released her Thunderbolt Tempo, the powerful strike illuminating the darkened mirror world. The bolt connected with Brulee, who shrieked in surprise and pain, her body convulsing as the electric energy coursed through her.
Brulee’s form began to shimmer and fade, slowly sinking back into the mirror world, unconscious. “Way to go, Nami!” I exclaimed, patting her on the back as relief washed over me.
“Thanks!” she said, a triumphant grin spreading across her face.
I moved toward where my sword had fallen, retrieving it from the ground and securing it behind me once more. With my sword and blades firmly in place, I felt a sense of readiness surge through me. “That reminds me, are you one of Lola’s friends?” Pound asked, glancing at Nami with curiosity.
Nami nodded, pulling out the Vivre Card that Lola had given her. The card glowed faintly in response to the mention of her friend, causing the surrounding Homies to back away, their eyes wide with recognition.
“Looks like that answers that,” I said, smirking at Nami’s cleverness. “I’ll make sure to put it to good use,” she teased, her confidence growing as she brandished the card like a weapon.
Sanji POV…
Night had fallen as I gazed out of the castle window from my room, the cool breeze rustling through the curtains. I stared up at the sky, my mind wandering, unable to find peace. My thoughts inevitably drifted to Y/N—the woman I cared for more than I could express. "Has she eaten?" I thought, concern gnawing at me. "Is she safe?" The idea of her trapped in this twisted arrangement made my blood boil. It was cruel, forcing Y/N into this nightmare, using King and those she loved as leverage.
And the worst part? "She doesn't even know." I growled under my breath, taking a drag from my cigarette, the smoke swirling around me in the dimly lit room. The weight of it all pressed on my chest—the deception, the manipulation, the damn Vinsmokes. I couldn’t stand it.
"Trouble sleeping?" came a familiar voice from behind me.
I didn’t bother turning around. “What do you want from me?” I muttered, flicking the ash off my cigarette.
"Give me some credit,” Reiju said, her voice soft but knowing. “Your big sister’s worried about her little brother.”
I scoffed at the sentiment. Worried? About me? That was hard to believe, especially considering everything. She moved closer, leaning against the wall beside me, but my eyes stayed focused on the stars above.
"You excited to see Ichiji and Niji tomorrow?" she asked, and my jaw clenched at the mention of those names. I could feel my blood boiling just thinking about them—the two bastards who had tormented me my entire childhood. Memories flooded back—Ichiji's sneering face as he threw punches, Niji laughing as he kicked me when I was down.
They hadn’t changed. And now Ichiji had dragged Y/N into this mess, planning a wedding ceremony that was as forced as my own.
“It’s been thirteen years since the whole family’s been back together,” Reiju continued, trying to fill the silence, but I wasn’t in the mood for nostalgia. “Tomorrow’s going to be a very busy day. We’re meeting Big Mom at the Whole Cake Chateau for your engagement ceremony with Pudding...”
I nearly crushed the cigarette in my fingers, the rage bubbling up.
“...And then it’ll be Ichiji and Y/N’s engagement ceremony.”
Those words hit me like a punch to the gut. Y/N—my Y/N—was being thrown into a ceremony with that monster, and she didn’t even know the full extent of the situation. The thought of her standing there, unaware of the strings being pulled behind her back, made me sick.
“He’s already having an engagement ceremony without her being there in the first place!” I barked, turning to face Reiju, my voice full of venom. “He’s doing this to make it all look perfect while she’s being trapped in this nightmare!”
Reiju’s face remained impassive, but there was a flicker of something in her eyes. “It’s the way the Vinsmokes work, Sanji. It’s all a game to them.”
I gritted my teeth, my hands balling into fists. “It’s not a game to her. It’s not a game to me.”
There was silence between us for a moment, the tension heavy. My thoughts kept returning to Y/N—how she deserved more than this sick charade. The only thing keeping me going was the hope that we could find a way out of this before it was too late.
Taking another drag of my cigarette, I turned back to the moon, its pale light spilling into the room.Hang in there, Y/N. I thought silently, watching the smoke drift toward the open window. I’ll find a way to save you.

The Art of Redemption
(part 8)
previous // next // story index
__________
Beth-Anne is furious.
She tries never to lose her temper with her students, but she’s as fallible as everyone else. As hard as she’s worked on her patience and self-control over the years, she still has a breaking point, and sometimes the kids will push her beyond it.
Today, the perpetrator is Brett.
He’s not a bad kid. None of her students are. Sure, they have their share of personal drama, and the teenagers in particular can be mercurial. They know how to press all her metaphorical buttons, not to mention each other's, but for the most part they support one another even if they aren't all best friends all the time. She's rarely known any of them to be blatantly disrespectful to her or to each other.
But, of course, there are always exceptions.
In hindsight, maybe she shouldn't have been surprised when she'd returned to the practice rink to discover a clearly upset Nikolai escaping into the corridor and a smug-looking Brett leaning against the boards with one toe pick stuck casually into the ice, but she was. She was so startled, in fact, that she utterly failed to react for a second or two.
Nikolai had already gone past her before she remembered her voice and asked him what was wrong. He replied, though she couldn't be certain what he said. She thought it sounded like "I'm going home."
For a moment, she was torn between heading for the ice or catching up with Nikolai. It was fairly obvious something had transpired between him and Brett, and she wanted to make sure he was okay, but she also had a job to do that she'd already neglected far longer than she should have.
Brett can wait a few more minutes, she decided.
She set her skate bag on the floor and then hurried down the corridor after Nikolai. With the advantage of two healthy legs, it was easy enough for her to get ahead of him. She halted in front of him so that he was compelled to stop as well.
"I thought I asked you to tell me if you wanted to go home," she said.
"I just did."
"Right. I suppose it won't do any good to ask you what happened."
Nikolai looked up at her, and the only way she could describe the expression on his face was despair. His voice trembled. "This was a mistake. I don't belong here."
She can acknowledge now, she didn't know what to do. She wanted to comfort him, to pull him into an embrace and tell him that wasn't true and that he most certainly does belong here, but she sensed he wouldn't like her touching him just then and he probably wouldn't have believed any reassurances she might've given anyway. Feeling helpless, all she could think to say was, "How are you planning to get home? I can't take you right now."
"Bus, I guess," he said.
"No," she said. "It's too cold and icy for you to try to walk all the way to the bus stop. Do you think you can drive?"
His tone was bemused. "Anya probably has the car, so..."
"If you can manage driving, you can take my truck," she told him.
After a brief pause, he said, "Okay."
She jogged back to where she'd left her bag and dug the keys out of one of its small outer pockets. Returning to Nikolai and placing the keychain in his hand, she said firmly, "The house key is on there too. You text me when you get home, okay? As soon as you get there. Understand?"
"I will."
"We'll talk when I get home."
"Okay."
She had no idea if they'd actually discuss anything once they were both at home again or not, but she told herself this wasn't the time to dwell on it. She watched Nikolai until he disappeared around the corner.
Now, she's standing outside the entrance to the practice rink, skate bag in hand, doing her best to compose herself and to not jump to any unfounded conclusions. Although she can probably guess with some accuracy what took place before she arrived, she has to remind herself that she has almost no facts.
Steadying herself with a deep breath and a long, slow exhale, she pulls open the door and steps through it. Brett is precisely where she'd last seen him, and he's still wearing the same shit-eating grin.
One look at that arrogant little smirk and all her effort to stay calm flies out the proverbial window.
Fuck it. I'm going to find out exactly what went down, and then this kid is getting a piece of my mind.
She doesn't waste time pausing at the benches to put her skates on. She marches confidently across the slick surface of the ice until she's face-to-face with her teenage student. Skipping over the usual greetings and pleasantries, she goes straight to, "Tell me what just happened. The truth, Brett. I don't want any of your usual bullshit, got it?"
The corner of his mouth twists like he's trying not to laugh at some joke only he knows. "What do you think happened?"
"I'm not in the guessing business," she says.
"It was nothing," says Brett. "All I did was tell the truth. I guess some people are too sensitive to handle that."
She doesn't miss the emphasis he puts on 'sensitive'. He says it like it's bad. She bites back the urge to tell him he could do with a little sensitivity. He could learn a thing or two from someone like Nikolai.
Brett's condescending attitude infuriates her, and she wonders if he's aware of what he's provoking. Anger is her demon, and she has to fight like hell to keep it in check. It terrifies her, but at the same time a small part of her relishes how powerful it makes her feel. She is in charge of this situation, not him. There's a hierarchy here, and she's the person at the top of it.
She takes another stride forward until she's close enough for the toe of her right boot to touch the toe pick of Brett's left skate. He's a handful of centimetres taller than her and she has to tilt her chin a little to meet his eyes, but that doesn't deter her.
She stares into his face, and in a voice that sounds way more quiet and calm than she feels, she says, "What happened? Tell me. Now."
Brett stares back at her. She can feel her pulse in her throat.
Four or five more heartbeats tick by, and then Brett lowers his gaze. He stammers, "Can you... can you, uh... take a step back? Please?"
She complies with the request, but she doesn't take her eyes off him. "Tell me what happened."
It's evident to her that he doesn't want to confess his role, but he probably feels like he hasn't got a choice at this point. He opens his mouth to speak, and his voice cracks on the first syllable. That's as far as he gets. His eyes go wide, and he swallows so hard that she's able to see a slight ripple of the skin at his throat.
He's scared, she realizes.
Her first reaction is, Good. He should be scared.
As soon as the thought forms, she immediately regrets it. Her goal hadn't been to frighten him, only to find out what had caused Nikolai to flee from the place in such a state of distress. It'd bothered her way more than she's willing to admit, seeing Nikolai crying like that, and a genius intellect wasn't required to figure out that Brett was at least partially responsible for it, but scaring the teenager wouldn't fix it. The only thing she's accomplished is to stick herself with the problem of two upset skaters instead of one.
Well done, Beth-Anne. Way to fuck shit up more than it already was.
"I'm sorry," Brett murmurs.
Beth-Anne's anger dissipates as quickly as it'd flared up, and just as quickly, shame and guilt rush in to fill the space it had occupied. She suddenly feels weak, and she becomes alarmingly aware that she's shaking.
"No, I'm sorry," she says.
"Am I in trouble?"
"No." She holds out her hand to him. "You're not in trouble, but we do need to talk. Can we do that?"
He doesn't take her hand, but she didn't really expect him to. However, he does follow her off the ice and then sits meekly beside her on a bench. "I'm really sorry," he says again. "I was in a bad mood, and seeing him here just made me mad, and... I don't know. I'm nervous about Junior Worlds and flying and... Everything this week just feels like, so unfair."
"This week's been pretty unfair to everybody," she says. "You, Mariah and little Eden. All the group class students."
"And Nikolai?"
"Him too. And me."
"I said some mean stuff to him."
"I assumed as much.”
"He cried," Brett says. "I didn't know he was gonna cry. It made me uncomfortable, but like... it also felt kinda good? Not good, but like I was in control of a situation for a change and I didn't want to stop myself once I got going, even though I knew I should. Does that even make any sense?"
The muscles of Beth-Anne's mouth twitch in an involuntary and probably very crooked smile. "Would it shock you if I said it makes perfect sense to me?"
"It does?"
"Unfortunately, yes."
"Are you gonna make me apologize?" he asks.
"No, I'm not," she tells him.
This time when he makes eye contact with her, she observes incredulity rather than fear. "But... you were literally terrifying a minute ago. I've never seen anybody get that mad, like ever. I figured you were going to yell at me and tell me I had to say sorry and… basically make me feel like shit about myself.”
“Have I ever yelled at you?” she asks.
“No, but I’ve never seen you that angry before either.”
“I shouldn’t have let myself get that angry," she says. "I was reacting instead of responding, and that wasn’t right. I'm supposed to be setting an example for you, but I guess I wasn't doing my job very well, was I?"
"You were," Brett says, and the words come out so softly that she's barely able to hear them. When she glances at him again, she sees tears tracing long, wet lines down his cheeks. He scrubs fiercely at his eyes with the back of his hand, sniffles and continues, "My mom... She gets mad and throws things. Not at me, but I still don't like it. And my dad sometimes gets in my face and yells, but... but he doesn't stop even when he knows I'm scared." He lifts his gaze to meet hers and whispers. "You stopped."
Beth-Anne doesn't know Brett's parents very well, but from all the times she's interacted with them, she has the impression Brett isn't particularly high on their list of priorities. If she were to guess, she would've said they hardly bother with him at all, much less take enough notice to get angry and scream at him. It's Brett's live-in tutor, Jordan — Jordy, as Brett affectionately calls him — whom Beth-Anne most often deals with, and it seems to her that Jordy parents him more than his parents do.
Christ, what a mess. What an absolute fucking train wreck this day is turning out to be.
Sadly, she knows a thing or two about being yelled at by an angry parent, and about being terrified of them. She understands how a kid will latch onto any adult that helps them feel safe. She'd done that with her skating coach when she was a kid, and with her older brother Jason. They did all they could, and she credits Jason for saving her in the end, but not before far too much damage had been done.
Without warning, her brain throws a vivid replay in front of her mind's eye; Claudia shrieking, blind drunk, and charging at eleven year old Beth-Anne and her little sister with the neck of a broken bottle clutched in her white-knuckled hand.
"Abby, run!" Beth-Anne had screamed so hard that it'd felt like something was ripping inside her throat, but little Abby was paralyzed with terror and didn't obey the command.
In this moment, Beth-Anne can’t remember what she or Abby had done to make Claudia so enraged. She only remembers grabbing her five year old sister, practically flinging her into the corner, and then shielding her as best as she was able to do with her own scrawny body.
Until that day, she hadn't had the slightest clue how much a human face could bleed. She also hadn’t grasped her full capacity for fear until then, and she genuinely believed her own wildly beating heart and oxygen-desperate lungs would kill her before her injuries did.
She's pulled out of the traumatic scene in her mind by the light touch of Brett’s fingertips on her knee. She blinks and nearly gasps. Brett is still crying, and now he looks as close to panic as Beth-Anne feels. She becomes conscious of hot tears on her own face.
"Are you okay?" Brett inquires.
She gulps air and somehow gets out, "I'm sorry. Yeah, I'm all right. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I... I guess so."
"Do you want to talk about it? Your parents, I mean."
He shakes his head. "No," he says, and then, "Why did you stop?"
He doesn't elaborate, but she knows what he's asking her.
Because I'm not my mother, she wants to tell him. Because even though you're not mine, I love you as if you are, and I never want to hurt you. But her eventual answer is, "Because anger doesn't solve anything. All it would've done would be to hurt you and make you not want to trust me any more."
He appears to consider that.
"Sometimes," he says at length, "I think you're one of the only people I can trust. You and Jordy. And like, I'm grateful, but sometimes it's still really hard 'cause I know my life isn't like other people's. LIke Mariah and Eden and Nikolai... they have normal families with normal parents. They go to regular school and do normal stuff with their families. Well... not Nikolai I guess. He doesn't live with his parents or go to school, but you know what I mean."
"I know," Beth-Anne says.
"And like, I kinda want Nikolai's life, or Mariah's. Not exactly their life, but something like it. You know?"
"I know," she says again. When she reaches out her hand this time, he takes it, and she squeezes his fingers gently. "When you're struggling, it's easy to wish you had a different life, but you know something? It's not always going to be the way it is now. You'll grow up and you'll learn a lot of things, and people will come into your life who'll change it for the better if you let them. And you can change your own life, too. You're the only one who can live it, and you're in charge of shaping it however you want."
"It doesn't feel like I'm in charge of anything."
"Sometimes it doesn't," she concedes. "It feels like that for adults sometimes too, like everything's gone to shit and there's nothing you can do about it, and sometimes there really is nothing you can do except hang on until it gets better. In times like that, the most important thing is how you respond."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, it's no use to blame people for things that no one has any control over, or to act like everyone's against you, or to be too proud to ask for help when you need it. Stuff like that. People will remember you for how you behave when circumstances are at their worst."
"So... you're saying Nikolai is going to remember that I was mean to him?"
"That wasn't the point I was trying to make," she says. "But, yeah. I think he'll remember, but I'm equally sure that if you ask him to forgive you, he will. Then he'll also remember that."
"You said you weren't going to make me apologize," Brett says.
"I'm not. I think you should apologize, but you're old enough not to need me or any other adult to make that choice for you. You should do it if you think it's the right thing to do, not because I think it is."
"Okay," he says. "Should I do it today?"
"Maybe give yourself some time to think about it," she suggests. "And give Nikolai a chance to settle down a little, too. He's going through a lot right now."
"Because of his leg?"
"Yes, but it's more than that. In a way, he's grieving because he's lost one of the most important things in his life. And I won't lie to you, watching him go through it is fucking tearing my heart out, so you can imagine how much worse it feels for him."
Brett pulls his lower lip between his teeth. "Yeah. But... you're helping him, right? Taking care of him?"
"That's my job," she says. "He's my friend."
"Am I your friend too?" he asks hesitantly, and he momentarily reminds her of a small child rather than a fourteen year old. It reinforces just how vulnerable he is, and how much he needs her protection and support.
Her heart aches with regret for her earlier actions. She wishes there was a way to erase that awful slip, but then she recollects the advice she'd just given him. People remember how you behave when circumstances are at their worst. Had she acquitted herself? Had she regained control before she'd caused him any harm? She assures herself that she did, because she thinks she likely wouldn't be sitting here and talking to him candidly like this if she hadn't.
"I like to think you and I are friends," she says.
"But Nikolai is your favourite."
"Maybe, but Nikolai is an adult, and we've known each other for a really long time. My friendship with him is different than my friendship with you," she says. "Anyway, it's okay to have favourites. That's just human nature. But, even if Nikolai is my favourite, that doesn't mean I wouldn't go to the ends of the Earth for you."
"You... would?"
"We've already been all over the world together, haven't we?"
This draws a tiny smile from him. "I like travelling with you. Flying isn't so bad when you and Jordy are there."
"I'm glad we make it a little easier for you."
"Yeah, but I still wish teleportation was a thing."
Despite herself, Beth-Anne laughs, and with her laughter some of the tension in her body falls away. "That would make it more convenient, wouldn't it? When you and Nikolai are back on speaking terms, you should ask him about flying. I'll bet he wishes teleportation was a thing, too."
"He doesn't like flying either?"
"Not unless he's flying through four rotations," she says.
"Me too. Some day soon, I'm going to do all the same quad jumps he can do."
"Someday you will," she agrees. "Not today, though."
"Are we still going to skate?"
"That's up to you," she says. "We will if you're up to it. If not, I can call Jordy to come pick you up."
"No," Brett says. "He needs his daily break from me. Plus, we've already lost enough time. Nobody wins gold medals by sitting on their ass, right?"
Beth-Anne grins. "Why does that sound exactly like something I'd say?"
"Probably 'cause it is."
"Cheeky little shit," she says, and is gratified when he tries unsuccessfully to stifle a laugh with his hand. "Give me a couple minutes to put my skates on. Then we'll warm up, and then I want to see whether you've been working or slacking while I've been away."
He pokes out his tongue at her. "Working. What else would you expect? Why would I be slacking off when there's a world championship gold medal in South Korea just waiting for me to earn it?"
"Let's not get overconfident," she warns.
"I want you and Jordy to be proud of me," he says. “Maybe my parents would even be proud of me if I won a world championship gold medal."
She has her doubts about that, but it's an illusion she doesn't want to shatter for him. She says, "I can't speak for your parents or Jordy, but I'm already proud of you. You don't need a gold medal to make me proud."
"Even if I'm a pain in the ass and you lose it with me sometimes?"
"Yeah," she says. "Even so. You're not the first massive pain in my ass to also make me proud, you know. But, I've learned something in my life, and it's that if you actually take the time to listen to a troublemaker and really get to know him, he usually ends up being well worth the trouble."

The Project - Modern AU Aegon
Part One / Part Two / Part Three
Y/N and Aegon are sitting next to eachother in their first class of the day, Y/N is concentrating on the professor, Aegon isn’t.
"Aegon, please, stop trying to distract me and focus," she groans at him.
"Never! You're my distraction... that's all you are." He smirks and keeps trying to reach over to grab her hand.
"Wow thanks, nice to know I mean so much to you," she states, sarcastically and rolls her eyes.
"Then again, I wouldn’t expect much more from Aegon Targaryen."
"Oh, it's this again. That holier than thou attitute, acting like you're better than me because I'm not a goody two-shoes who does her homework."
"Shut up, Aegon, I’m trying to listen", she ignores his comment and continues scribbling down notes.
He rolls his eyes, then tries to reach over and steal her notes.
"Just give your hand to me, Y/N. I bet you're just hiding it because you like me as well, don't you?" he smirks, "I know you do."
She pulls back her notes from him, glaring at him angrily "Piss off!!" She whisper-shouts "and no, I do not like you."
He rolls his eyes and leans in close, whispering to her.
"You're a terrible liar, Y/N. And I can see right through it." He then leans in a bit too close to her and looks into her eyes, "You know it, too. You know you like me."
She rolls her eyes, turning her head away "You’re so full of yourself Aegon, don’t you have about 12 girls on the go at the moment?"
"Oh, please. It's closer to fifteen. He says casually in a joking manner. Not that you should care, though. I'm still single, and ready to... mingle. Besides, not a single one of them has half the appeal you do."
"You’re disgusting, Aegon," she says, still focusing on the professor at the front.
He leans into her ear and whisper-speaks to her, "Hey, you know that you're not half bad yourself, Y/N."
He then leans back and lets out a casual laugh. "See? The real you just can't help but come out."
"Ugh, leave me alone, after this, I’m asking the Professor to move my seat, I’ll never learn this stuff if you consistently distract me."
He turns and rolls his eyes, before turning back to pay attention to whatever the professor is talking about. Although, his focus seems to waiver as he looks over at Y/N, his mind wandering...
"He gives a sigh of defeat Fine, I'll leave you alone. For now."
The class comes to an end, Y/N frustrated, having learnt nothing, she gets her bag and goes to walk out, before the professor waves at her.
"Y/N, Aegon, can you speak for a moment?" The professor asks.
The pair look confused and walk over, Y/N even more frustrated that she might get into trouble for Aegons antics.
"You’re both getting top marks at the moment, I wanted you two to work on a project together, to help the rest of the class" the professor asks.
"Of course," Aegon replies, smirking, knowing how much having to spend extra time with him would piss Y/N off
Y/N glares at him, then turns back to the professor, forcing a smile "Of course we will."
The pair leave the classroom, Y/N trying to hurry away from Aegon.
Aegon follows, a smug grin on his face. It's always fun to make the stuck up people do things they wouldn't want to do, especially if it means you can get closer to them somehow.
"So..." He smirks and walks beside Y/N.
"It looks like we're going to be getting to know eachother a lot more..." He says in a flirty tone of voice.
"What's your phone number, babe?" He laughs, pretending to be joking, but is actually quite serious.
She takes out her phone and pushes it into him.
"Put your number in, I’ll text you"
He gives a short laugh "Fine. Fine, I'll do it."
After putting his number in, Aegon looks back at her with a smile, "Thanks, babe."
He then gives her hand a small pat, making sure to grab it tightly, trying to get a feel for, well, the girl she is, behind this fake persona she puts on publicly.
She grabs her phone back as soon as he’s finished, rolling her eyes at the heart emojis he’s put after his name.
"I’ll text you" she says, before walking off.
When she leaves, Aegon looks after her with a big smile.
"Alright, babe. I'll be waiting."
He gives a small wave and goes back to where he was, and, in his mind, he keeps telling himself 'She'll be mine. All mine.'
That night she lies on the sofa in her shared apartment, luckily most of her housemates her usually out, she contemplates texting Aegon.
In his apartment, Aegon lies back on his bed, scrolling through social media and checking his phone on and off for a text back from her. She really is playing hard to get, but with time, he'll wear her down; he's good at that.
He chuckles, thinking about how annoyed and embarrassed she looked in front of the professor. "Good one, Aegon. Way to get into her head."
She opens her message app, looking at the hearts next to Aegons name, feeling herself blush a tiny bit. Aegon, the most popular frat boy in her school wants her…well, wants her in his bed
She rolls her eyes at the thought, knowing all he wants her for is sex. She sends a bunt text 'When do you want to start planning this project then?'
He reads the text, a smile creeping up his face as he laughs Ooh, looks like we've made some progress with the Ice Queen...
He sends a reply
'How about Friday, say, five o'clock? We can meet in the library to start setting things up. Would that work for you, Y/N-kins?' He tries to play it cool in his text, yet can't help but add a cute little nickname.
She rolls her eyes at the nickname when she sees his reply 'Yep, Friday at 5, see you then, Aegon'
She hits send on the text, throwing her phone onto the other side of the couch.
After reading her text, Aegon feels a rush of excitement, knowing he'll see the beautiful Y/N again.
She must like me, if she agreed to this, right? She even kept my hearts, she's gotta like me...
He gives a short chuckle and goes back to scrolling through his phone.
'Y/N-kins. I can't wait.'

45 "Almost kisses" for Louse, please and thanks.
In reference to this post (send me a number and a ship and I'll try and write a blurb about it)
I love writing crack for these two :) This has no background, I just kinda blurbed it out, but otherwise I hope it's entertaining LOL
-
"I need to practise my knife throws more." Mouse hums.
"I could teach you a thing or two." Logan offers with complete confidence, "I've been told I'm quite good at it, actually."
"Oh aye?" Mouse's chair swivels so she can face him, and she gives him a wide smirk. "I'd like to see you prove it,"
"Maybe I will," he grinned back, resting his hand on the desk and making a show of leaning down a little just to annoy her. Not having it, she grabs the collar of his shirt and pulls, knocking him off balance and forcing him to use the arm rests of her chair to catch and balance himself. They're staring, a little stunned, at each other for a second before they realise just how close they've gotten. If they leaned in any further they could almost--
"Hey- Uh..." Of fucking course, Kick chooses that moment to walk in. He stops short, processing the scene in front of him while Logan quickly straightens up in a practically cartoonish manner. Kick blinks once, twice, before a grinch-like smile forms on his face. "What's going on here?"
"Logan reckons himself a good knife thrower," Mouse supplies easily, seemingly not caring about the interruption as she had hardly moved from her place. She swivels her chair again, arms folded casually, so she can look at Kick, matching the smug look on his face with her own. "Thinks he can show me a few tricks," and then her head tilts, ever so slightly. The way she speaks next is curious, genuine: "Need sommat?"
"Oh, no, no," Kick shakes his head, still upholding his cheshire cat impression. Logan hates the both of them for looking so thoroughly amused by the situation. "Wasn't all that important honestly. I think I'll leave you two to it." God damn it, Kick. He's quick to wink and quick to flee; Logan can still hear his snickering and footsteps as they receed down the hall. He gives an annoyed sigh, glowering as Mouse turns back to him, still giving him that look.
"Well?" She prompts.
"What?"
"These knives aren't gonna throw themselves." She scoffs, as if it was obvious. With that, she stands up and leans up into his space. "Show me how it's done, doe-eyes."

hq setters teaching you how to play volleyball as a date? just like reader has watched volleyball and messed around with it here and there during pe but never actually played it so they try teaching you
INSTALLATION 3 FOR DATING THE SETTER’S ASK GAME
Note: this idea is so cute tho I'll probably write this for some other hq characters when i'm done with this event.
Characters involved: Sugawara Koushi, Kenma Kozume, Kageyama Tobio, Oikawa Toru, Miya Atsumu, Akaashi Keiji
Gender-neutral reader, you/yours
Sugawara Koushi
A loud laugh echoed around the two of you as you watched the ball hit the net for the fifth time that day. The sound was enough to have you sigh and try to back away from the court.
Try, because as much as you wanted to spear yourself the embarrassment you found yourself remaining rooted to the spot the second Sugawara tugged on your waist and pulled you back to the centre of your half of the court.
"Aw come on you were closer this time."
You let out a sigh at his words but allowed yourself to be moved around until you were once again in a position to spike the ball. However, this time Koushi stayed by your side rather than walking away to set the ball.
He took a moment to adjust your stance, making your arm stretch further back and feet spread before going away to set the ball.
You thought the ball would once again hit the net or fall to the ground before it could reach the other side but were pleasantly surprised to see it pass the net and fall to the ground in the middle of the other side.
"See, I told you."
You couldn't help but grin at Sugawara's words, feeling a sense of accomplishment rush through you as he went to receive the ball.
It wasn't even a proper spike, and definitely needed a lot of work, but the fact that you were learning something about his world was enough to have you smile.
Volleyball wasn't your cup of tea, but Sugawara certainly made it seem otherwise.
Kenma Kozume
"This is way too tiring."
Kenma smiled as he watched you roll your shoulders before once again adjusting your stance to be ready to spike the ball that would soon come your way.
However, this time he chose to take a small break and casually leaned against the volleyball bin.
"Weren't you the one who said you wanted to learn volleyball?"
"Because you haven't left your house all weekend."
Kenma scoffed at your response, tossing the ball your way as he spoke.
"Like you get a lot of physical activity done."
You were quick to throw the ball back at him with a little more force than necessary but were left disappointed as you watched him receive it perfectly and send the ball right to you.
However, unlike the last time he had pulled that trick, you actually spiked the ball as it came your way, making Kenma pause in shock for a couple of seconds.
When he finally processed the situation the blond gamer sent you a surprised smile that had you feeling a little too smug.
"I'm a good teacher."
This time the ball actually did hit him square in the chest, however, Kenma couldn't help but smile as he watched you complain about how you were the one putting in real effort.
There was something about seeing you embrace his hobbies that made him like volleyball in a way he hadn't known he could.
Kageyama Tobio
"You're worse than Hinata was."
You couldn't help but be offended at your boyfriend's words, sending him an unamused look that just widened his prideful grin. However, your annoyance soon vanished as you watched Kageyama circle behind you and start to adjust your stance.
He started with your hands, reaching around you to turn your arms more and move your elbows so you were sturdier. Then, his hands travelled down, moving your knees a little apart and resting one hand on your right hip.
"You need to go lower."
The way his hand tugged you backwards, effectively make you sink lower, left no room for argument. However, considering your flustered state you were certain that you wouldn't have been able to say anything even if he hadn't moved you around.
It was only when he pulled away and returned to his side of the court that Kageyama finally realised what he was doing, but he surprisingly didn't become completely flustered like he normally would.
Instead, he hit the ball just like he had every other time, but this time you actually ended up hitting it back perfectly.
"Told you, you had to go lower."
Volleyball was definitely harder than you had thought, but it was definitely also more fun than you had anticipated. Especially when you got to see another side of your boyfriend because of it.
Oikawa Toru
Oikawa was close. Way too close.
When he had said he wanted to teach you volleyball for your date that day you had expected something like learning how to spike, or being taught a thing or two about being a setter.
You hadn't, however, expected him to be so focused on teaching you how to serve.
One arm wrapped around your waist, pressing down on your core as he muttered about how you needed to use your entire body to serve properly.
"-you don't just need technique you also need the right amount of force."
His other hand continued twirling the volleyball on his fingers as he spoke, only stopping once he began to pull away and set the ball in your hands.
"Go on."
You stood still for a moment, too hung up on his previous proximity to actually do anything. It wasn't until a good few seconds passed that you finally threw the ball up and served it.
It crossed the net.
Oikawa saw it before you did, and was quick to tug you backwards with his arm once again returning to wrap around your waist.
"You're better than I thought."
He leaned in as he spoke, with his lips hovering close enough for you to feel his breath against your lips, but then he pulled with a smirk that showed he knew exactly what he was doing.
"But, you still need to learn a lot more."
Your volleyball training wasn't what you had expected it to be, but one thing was for certain.
Oikawa definitely liked seeing you play volleyball.
Miya Atsumu
Volleyball was everything to Atsumu.
He lived for the thrill of controlling the game and commanding the court and took great pleasure in bettering himself to be the best possible setter he could be.
Maybe that was why you felt so nervous as you watched the ball he had set to you hit the net as it went over to the other side of the court.
"'Tsumu I don't think this is a good idea."
The way his eyebrows crinkled in confusion almost made you feel like a fool for even suggesting that. However, it was too late to take back your words.
"Why?"
"Well-"
The volleyball in his hands seemed almost intimidating as he spun it between his palms, with the movement drawing your gaze away from his pressing brown eyes.
"I'm no good at volleyball and this is probably just wasting your time-"
This time it was Atsumu who cut you off with a small peck to your lips that completely silenced any complaints you had.
"This isn't about volleyball, it's about spending time with you-"
He kissed you again, pecking your lips twice before walking backwards to his previous position.
"-even if your serves suck."
It was that day that you realised there was something Atsumu loved just as much as volleyball: combining the two things he loved the most.
Akaashi Keiji
"You need to think a little more before hitting it."
"But then I won't hit it on time."
Akaashi shook his head at your response, reaching forward to flick your forehead in a way that made you wince and take a small step back.
"You're avoiding your instincts."
You didn't really understand what he meant, not until he served the ball again and you just listened to what your mind was telling you.
You didn't know how or why, but somehow Akaashi's advice was exactly what you needed to knock over the water bottle on the other side of the court.
The sight made you grin and let out an excited giggle, turning towards Akaashi to plant a small peck on his lips. However, he pulled you back in just as you were about to walk away.
"I think I deserve more than that for being such a good coach."
"Of course, 'Kaashi."
Spending the day playing volleyball wasn't exactly the most romantic date, but the idea of learning about his world and becoming that much closer to Akaashi was enough to make the day a memorable one.
It certainly helped that you got to see a new side of him, one that reminded you of why you fell for him in the first place.

𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙧𝙮 || niki lauda x reader x james hunt
𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮 : flirting with james shouldn’t have been a problem, because you and niki weren’t even that serious anyways, right?  well, it turns out you are serious, but it also turns out not to be quite the problem you expected.
𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 : 2.8k
𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 : smut (threesome, dubcon (slight), oral f and m receiving, dp/anal, spitroasting, slight degradation/dumbification, overstimulation, spanking), touch of angst, possessiveness, niki being mean (guys, it’s niki), pwp
based on a request by @creme-bruhlee which was based on a thing I told him I was working on which I wasn’t actually working on yet but then I casually wrote in one sitting when I was supposed to be doing my sleepover gah
Tumblr media
You certainly didn’t like James Hunt.  After all, you were all but contractually obligated to hate him in solidarity with your boyfriend and his biggest rival, Niki.
But you did appreciate James— for his undeniable talent as a driver, and for what he brought out in your boyfriend.  Not just on the track, but at times like this as well.
It started rather innocently, at least as innocent as any press event could be.  Niki wore you proudly on his arm, for most of the interviews: you knew that a lot of this for him was simply a publicity ploy to improve his image, but it honestly didn’t bother you that much since it was partially for publicity on your part as well (you had your own career to advance, after all).
What bothered him, though, was when James started to suddenly chat you up, undeniably flirty but just to the level that it could almost be construed as polite.
He waited until Niki was pulled away for an interview and stood just behind the camera, asking you a million questions and finding dumb excuses to touch you: first it was something in your hair, then admiring your bracelet (Niki gave it to me, you told him; Twice now he’s shown that he has fine taste, James winked in reply) until he finally stepped closer and rested his hand on your lower back.
“Let me show you what a real driver can do, sweetheart,” he offered lowly, leaning in so close that his lips brushed against your temple, and you caught Niki leaving the interview suddenly in the corner of your eye.
“And let me show you what happens when you can’t keep your hands to yourself,” Niki interrupted, shoving James back off of you before hitting him square in the jaw.  You gasped, as did the many reporters and drivers watching, but soon Niki’s attention was turned back to you, fire in his glare.
“Hey, I was just trying to be personable—” James defended as he held his face in his hand, but Niki ignored him, grabbing you by the wrist and dragging you behind him out of the press tent.
“Looks like the infamous Hunt/Lauda rivalry has come to a bit of a head, possibly over Lauda’s girlfriend—” you heard one of the reporters explain to a camera, but soon the buzz faded to silence as Niki took you further away.
“Where are we going, Niki?” you asked nervously, trailing behind him as best you could.
“Somewhere private where you can learn your lesson,” Niki answered, making you swallow dryly.  He wasn’t the sort of person you wanted to be in trouble with.
He found an empty garage and all but tossed you inside, pinning you to the wall at each shoulder.
“The fuck do you think you’re doing, letting Hunt put his hands on you like that?” he hissed.
“I didn’t let him, he just did it!” you defended.
“Then you tell him to stop!” Niki explained, exasperated.  “Instead of standing right there, right in front of my face and doing nothing!  You can’t imagine how it feels to see another man put his hands on you— and that man...”
You hadn’t realized he cared about that sort of thing; you hadn’t realized he cared about you that much.  “I’m sorry, Niki, it won’t happen again.”
“You’re right about that,” he hissed, “it won’t happen again because you’re going to bend over that toolbox and learn not to test me."
You opened your mouth to protest and yet you were already doing it, feeling your cheeks burn as he pulled your dress up and rubbed his calloused hands over your ass and thighs.
A yelp jumped from your mouth when he hit you, but your thighs clenched together, too. "Now would be a good time to start apologizing," he suggested coldly.
"Niki, baby, I'm so so sorr— ah!" you whined again when he hit you even harder, the sound of his skin on yours echoing around the garage.
"Do you want to flirt with him? Would you rather be his flavor of the week?" Niki interrogated.
"No! Just want you, I swear," you promised, biting your lip to hold back a moan when he hit you twice in a row.
"You'll have me," he promised. "You need to remember who you belong to."
If you weren't so desperate you would've probably protested to that language, but your panties were soaked from almost nothing at all and you were in no position to debate with him.
The sound of his uniform unzipping was like music to your ears, and you purred a little when he pulled your panties down your thighs slowly. "Are you enjoying this?" he realized. "It's supposed to be a punishment and still you're soaking wet. Is that for him or me?"
"You, Niki, fuck me, please," you whined, the sound shifting into a gasp as he pushed inside you roughly, a little too deep and a little too fast for how little you'd been prepared. It was usually some level of struggle to take him but this was a very new circumstance: now he was fucking you with a point to make, with a message to send. And you got that message loud and clear as he mercilessly pounded into you, nearly knocking over the toolkit you were bent onto. "Fffuck," you stammered, holding onto the aluminum for dear life while he grunted behind you.
"You can moan louder than that, no need to suppress yourself," he encouraged.
"They could hear us, they're not too far away—"
He spanked you again and you cried out, realizing he likely wanted them to hear you; he wanted those reporters to make sure everyone knew that you were his. "Tell them who's fucking you so good, hm? Tell them who you belong to."
"Niki," you sobbed, "yours, baby, I'm yours..."
Just then, the door to the garage swung open and you gasped at the sight of James Hunt. You tried to kick Niki away and cover yourself but he didn't budge— he didn't even stop fucking you, much to your humiliation.
"I'm a little busy here, James," Niki explained with a smug grin.
"I can tell— listen, if you're gonna make us all hear this, could you at least do it right?" James frowned. "Your girl has many talents but acting is not one of them."
"Are you saying this is a performance?" Niki realized.
"You'd be able to tell the difference if you'd ever heard a woman actually finish but with you, that's impossible," James laughed. "Smart move going from behind, though, spare her from having to look at—" James motioned to his face broadly— "this whole situation you have going on."
"If you think you can do better, Hunt, I'd love to see you try."
You started about a thousand questions but didn't finish any of them, and James grinned as he shut the door behind himself. "I told you I'd show you what a real driver can do, didn't I?" he addressed you, crossing the room to where Niki had you pinned down.
Before you could say anything (not that you knew what to say), James grabbed your hair and kissed you, not quite rough yet but completely dominating as his tongue slid over yours and tickled the roof of your mouth.
"You wouldn't be doing that if you knew where her mouth had been, James," Niki chuckled.
"That sort of shit doesn't bother me, Lauda," James explained once he'd broken his lips away from yours. "It's called confidence in my masculinity, look it up sometime. I know exactly what's been in her cunt, too, and I'm still gonna show her how a real man eats pussy."
You got a little nervous at the sound of that, but wetter as well.
Niki circled to face you, clutching your jaw and examining your expression carefully as James hungrily licked and sucked at your cunt.
"If you're going to eat her cunt then let me fill it with my come first, give you a little taste of victory, eh?" Niki joked, but James pushed him away and you whined slightly when your boyfriend's cock slipped out of you... but it was only a moment before James knelt behind you, swiping his tongue over your swollen bud and drenched opening as you purred.
"I hope your jaw isn't too sore, Hunt," Niki sneered.
"It's not," James assured with saccharine faux-sweetness before diving back in to taste you further.
James stopped to lean his head out to the side. "Think she likes the sound of that, Niki— she clenched down on my tongue real tight."
"If you come for him, you won't like what I'll do to you," Niki warned you harshly. "You won't sit right for a week, at least."
"Oh, I see," Niki smirked. "You want me to tear up that little ass... should've known, you have that look about you: the kind of girl who acts innocent in public but turns into a whore when the lights go out."
Yet again James caught you reacting to what Niki said, though this time he didn't need to announce it since your own moan gave you away.
"Go ahead and fuck her then, Hunt, and get her ass ready for me," Niki instructed. You were surprised when James obeyed, standing up and unzipping his uniform as well to start rubbing his cock over your dripping pussy.
"You want it, sweetheart?" James taunted. "Ask very nicely."
"Fuck me, James, please," you sighed, and he was much more gentle than Niki had been as he filled you, letting you savor every inch of his length.
"Sounds so lovely when you say my name like that, do it again," James demanded, slowly beginning to rock into you.
"James," you breathed, gasping when Niki pushed his cock against your lips; you could taste yourself on him and it turned you on even more.
"I think we can find a better use for your mouth than boosting James' ego, yes?" Niki groaned as he started to fuck your mouth, holding your head steady. "Certainly he doesn't need any more of that."
You moaned loudly around Niki's cock when James circled his finger around your tighter rim. The first knuckle pushed in and you felt your knees wobble. Then back out again, then to the second knuckle-- each twist of his finger he went a little deeper, he even went so far as to spit on your hole which made you choke from more than just Niki's cock down your throat.
"Your girl's gotta sweet little cunt, Niki," James groaned as he fucked you faster. "You should let your pit crew use her, too, give 'em a morale boost."
"Maybe I will if she doesn't behave for us today," Niki considered, weaving his fingers into your hair to start fucking your face more roughly.
Your legs threatened to give out with the way James was fucking you; your eyes rolled back in your head with a suppressed moan as Niki kept using your mouth.
Around the same time Niki pulled his cock out to rub it over your face, James pulled out to slap his swollen head on your clit.
Another finger pushed into your ass and you made a sound that you hardly recognized as your own. "If I had known you liked it up the ass so much, you would've never taken it anywhere else," Niki promised with a growl.
Once James decided both your holes were ready, they seemed to have no trouble at all manhandling you into the position they needed— surely it was the first time you'd ever seen them work together— and soon you found yourself balanced on James' lap while Niki found his place behind you.
"Do you think you can take us both, sweetheart?" James taunted as you felt both of them teasing your holes.
"Well, I've never been fucked by two massive dicks before," you admitted, "and you have big cocks, so..."
"I'll miss that wit of yours when you become a mindless, drooling fuckdoll in the next two minutes," Niki stated plainly.
It only took ten seconds.
Your hands weakly held onto James' shoulders as you bounced on top of him, moaning lowly as you were filled beyond what you thought possible. Niki had to hold your waist to help guide you, occasionally thrusting forward to fill your ass with every inch of him.
"Ah, fuck," you moaned, reaching beside you to grab Niki's forearm in an attempt to stabilize yourself.
James tore your dress down the front and latched onto your tits, sucking hard and even letting his teeth graze one nipple while Niki used his free hand to pinch the other.
Even when your eyes fell shut and your brain was totally empty, you could tell them apart just by touch. It was Niki sucking a mark on the side of your neck, but James grabbing a rough handful of your ass. It was Niki that reached around to rub your clit, but James that nibbled and sucked on your earlobe while whispering things so dirty that your face burned hot.
"We can both feel it when you come, do it again," Niki demanded just before your third hit you.
"Give us a good squeeze, sweetheart, wanna feel that cunt milk me," James agreed.
"I-I'm coming," you gasped as your head fell back, both of them laughing and cooing proudly.
"There she goes."
"Good fucking girl."
"Gets tighter every time."
You only regained your ability to tell who said what when you felt Niki's lips against your ear, his voice soothing your aching, quivering body. "You want to be full of come, don't you?" he presumed, and you nodded sleepily. "We'll fill you as deep as we can, and you need to keep it in you for the rest of the day."
"Yes, Niki," you agreed softly.
They picked up their pace and you felt like a ragdoll as they thrust into your limp body, chasing their highs as recklessly as always until you lost your voice from moaning so loud.
James finished first, though you imagined this was one race he would’ve preferred not to win.  He bit down on your shoulder as he filled you, hard enough to leave a mark which you knew would anger Niki when he realized it.
"Tell me who you belong to," Niki pleaded one last time, coming inside you the moment you answered "you, Niki."
And then it was just the three of you, standing there in a sweaty jumble of limbs, catching your breath and trying to process what had just occurred.
“Do you think we can get out of here without too many reporters seeing?” Niki asked James.
“I’m going to worry about getting out of the girl first, then the building,” James decided, and the two of them helped lift you onto your numb legs, your body slow to recover from the onslaught of sensations that had been forced on you this long.  If anything was more jarring than being filled by both of them, it was both of them pulling out at once.  Come leaked out of you from more places than you cared to admit, and since James had torn your dress, Niki gave you his uniform to wear which left him in only the undershirt and boxers he wore beneath.
“I can’t believe I’m getting your spunk on my uniform right now, Hunt,” Niki grimaced, making James laugh as he zipped himself back up.  Funny enough, he looked the most normal after all this of the three of you; maybe because he always had that ‘just had some freaky sex’ look about him.  You and Niki were a bit newer to the game, so you didn’t wear it as well, but honestly you thought he looked pretty cute with his curls all messed up from when you’d run your fingers through them.
“Well,” James announced with a puffed chest and proud smile, “next time you two are having a lover’s spat, give me a call and I’ll lend a hand or cock as needed.  But I think I’ll take my leave now.”
What do you say after something like that?  Apparently the answer is nothing, considering you just nodded slightly and Niki gave him an awkward wave as he disappeared out the door with the nonchalance as his arrival.
Plunged into silence, you glanced over at Niki who was already staring at you.  “So?” he asked.  “Was he better?”
“No,” you answered right away.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
Relief washed over you when he pulled you into an embrace and kissed your forehead; you couldn’t think of the last time he was so affectionate.  “Let’s get back to the track and find you a new dress, hm?” he suggested.  “One that James Hunt absolutely won’t get his hands on.”

Helloooooo! I love your writing and was looking forward to the request being opened again🥺 I'm feeling so excited right now!
Hmm, may i ask for a nsfw scenario with ichiji where he says "my face is your throne, come sit on it"?
Have a good day 💗
Hey Anon! Thank you for requesting! I love writing for Ichiji and I hope you like it! I'm not entirely sure what readers and Ichiji's relationship exactly is but I'd say it's pretty close to being in an actual relationship lol Reader is not royal (and maybe is/has been a servant?) and Ichiji just sticks to to her every chance he gets. I hope you're not mad at me but I changed your quote cause it just fit so perfectly but I can change it if you want! Just send me a message and tell me!! Anyway, please enjoy!
Warning: 18+, nsfw, oral, light slapping, name calling, King x Queen (servant lol)
Pairing: Ichiji x female reader
Word count: 2.4k
Tumblr media
With an amused look he watched you order the cooks around, wanting everything to be perfect for the big day. He’d usually never even dream of lowering himself to coming down here but the whispering of the servants left him curious and he was surprised to actually see you invest so much time and effort into something so trivial and stupid like a birthday – of all the things you could’ve chosen to invest time in it was a birthday! He found it ridiculous.
“Instead of grinning so smugly you could help too!” you demanded, putting your hands on your hips. Ichiji raised an eyebrow in enjoyment, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Help?” he asked, voice sounding cocky. “Nah, that’s peasant’s work. But I guess you feel right at home here, don’t you, Y/n?” He was testing you but you wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of getting flustered.
“And what if I do?” you retorted, crossing your arms as well, taking up the challenge. The man snickered, the grin not leaving his face. “Serf stays serf, amirite?” his voice dropped an octave, knowing he hit a nerve but not giving a shit at all. You grinded your teeth, breathed in and out of your nose deeply before putting on a fake smile.
“Guess so. Got a problem with it?” He knew he got you and one more word could push you over the edge but he weighed his options and came to the conclusion that you being in a bad mood was not worth the fun. “See you later then, Y/n. Don’t overexert yourself down here. Father’s party is about to start in an hour and I want you to take a shower before you show yourself. Just cuz you like hanging around the servants you don’t need to look like one.” And with that, he left.
You watched him leave; once he was gone, the anger hit you and you let out an angry screech. “Bastard!” you yelled after him before turning back to the cooks who were all standing there petrified at this encounter. Nobody dared to talk to him like that and live. Understandably, they had no idea how to behave.
“What are you looking at?! Get back to work!”
.
.
.
Judge’s birthday was as boring as you had expected – until the drinking came! You knew Ichiji and his siblings wouldn’t get drunk but all these high-profile people that had been invited sure as hell did. You weren’t particularly fond of the Vinsmoke leader but it was always good to be on his good side; especially since he was the one who let you stay here. Ichiji would kick you off this kingdom if his father told him to.
You were standing on the side line, a drink in your hand but still sober. After all, this was still your first and you never intended on getting drunk yourself. Niji and Yonji were drinking two other princes under the table, mocking them for being so weak. Barely dressed ladies kept serving alcohol, being subject to a lot of maybe wanted or unwanted attention, you didn’t know but either way they knew what they were getting into.
“This party is quite the success. You’re gonna stay to clean up after everyone, too, servant?” you heard Ichiji’s voice next to you and were surprised to see him lean casually against the wall, a mug of beer in his hand. “And if I did?” you questioned, turning your whole body towards him, getting closer and leaning your body against his, looking up at him suggestively. “Are you gonna punish me?”
Ichiji’s smirk grew wider, his hand finding its way to your cheek, gently stroking it. “Depends….” He said, his thumb stroking your bottom lip. “On what?” you whispered, putting his thumb between your lips, lightly sucking on the digit while never breaking eye contact.
“If you do a good job or not. Can’t have a sloppy maid now, can I?” he replied, enjoying the way your sucked in his finger with your mouth. “Guess you can’t. But I guess I’m more of a queen material anyway, right?” you started moving your head back and forth slowly, tasting the salt on his skin. “Queen material?” he chuckled, pulling his thumb out of your wet cave. “You’re not even close to being a princess. So what makes you think you can be a queen?” he smeared your saliva on your cheek, awaiting your response.
“Well…and the reason for that is that you’ve never actually taught me how to be a proper queen in the first place. So I’d say it’s actually your fault, isn’t it?” you bit your bottom lip, loving the way you two went back and forth until one of you won. Or landed in bed.
“Is that so? Then I guess I have to teach you.”
.
.
.
“I’m not expert but I think this is not how a queen behaves….” You said, looking up at Ichiji not overly excited about your position. You had your hands were folded on your naked lap, your bare breasts being on full display for him to look at. When you were thinking about him giving you “lessons” about being a queen, you had the slight hope he would actually let you command him around but you should’ve known better.
“Before you can be a queen, you need to learn how to listen to your king first, Y/n.” he said with a smug grin on his face, sitting in front of you on the bed, you between his spread legs like a good servant, not a queen. “Well, what does my king want?” you asked, looking up at him with one eyebrow raised.
“Your king wants you to please him, like the good little slut you usually are for him.” He purred. “And how does my king wish to be pleased?” you insisted, already knowing the answer. You saw a slight twitch in his pants to your words, getting hard by you being so submissive to him. Why haven’t you done this before? Master and slave, or if you wanted to insist king and “queen”, was really doing it for him. And you two haven’t even really started yet.
“Why don’t you start by opening my pants? You need to serve your king, remember? And undressing him is part of this.” He answered, watching how you got up with a small grin on your lips, starting to undress him completely. He had to get up for you to remove his pants but when you were done, you sat back down between your legs, looking up at him with big eyes.
You tried to ignore his member practically poking your face and instead focus on his face. “You may worship my body.” He allowed you with this condescending tone and shit eating grin but it turned you on. To be honest, this position had you even more excited than originally expected. His harsh eyes boring into you, devouring every inch of your naked body, leaving a hot prickle on your skin.
Your hands started moving up his calved, your face leaning in to kiss the skin of his legs up, over his knees and to his thighs. Your palms came up with your head, rubbing the sensitive skin on his inner thighs, seeing how he got light goosebumps at your touch. His member twitched a little, bobbing up and down in front of your face but you didn’t pay it attention just yet.
Your lips kissed his thighs, your teeth lightly scratching over the flesh before you moved further up to his hip bone, nibbling on it while your hands felt his abs, tracing each pack carefully, feeling how his muscles flexed underneath your touch. His dick brushed against your cheek when you started kissing his stomach as well, his pre-cum leaving a hot and wet mark on your skin.
Your pussy started to get wetter at the short contact, already anticipating the moment it could wrap around him and clench him until he was dry. You wanted to touch yourself so badly, wanted to give yourself some pleasure as well but, in order to be a good queen, you needed to put his needs above your own (for now at least).
Your lips moved down again, kissing the junction of his lower abdomen and dick, his member pressed flush against your cheek while you did. You moved one hand to the base of his dick, wrapping your fingers around him and letting your thumb circle the soft skin of his dick. You wanted to hear him sigh at this contact but you were left disappointed. He never gave you the satisfaction of letting you see how good you made him feel.
“May I kiss your dick, my king?” you asked, looking back up at him again, waiting for permission. His dick twitched once again at your words, the grin growing even wider if that was even possible. “You may.” He allowed, watching how you slowly kissed his member with little butterfly kisses up and down.
“It’s so perfect, my king.” You praised him. Another twitch. “I wonder what it tastes like.” Even though you knew what he tasted like you enjoyed how his dick twitched with each word, betraying his otherwise aloof behavior. He was a human being with a good sex drive, after all. His father apparently didn’t wipe out all of his emotions.
“You can give it a try.” He suggested. “Thank you.” Your mouth wrapped around the hot head, followed by a long and deep suck, eliciting a small grown from him. Finally, you thought satisfied. You let your tongue twirl around the tip, first slowly, then fast, then back to slowly. The pre-cum started coming out more frequently, being eagerly licked up by your tongue and swallowed.
“How eager you are to please your king. Maybe I can make a good queen out of you after all. But first, you need to put in a little more effort. I think you can fit more of me into your mouth, can’t you?” he asked. As a response, you started taking him in deeper and deeper, feeling how his big member filled your mouth to the brim before taking him down your throat, swallowing him to the base. Now it was your turn to grown at this feeling, the vibration stimulating him in return. “That’s right, Y/n. Just like that.” He praised, voice sounding a little strained.
You let his dick glide out your mouth again, sucking on his tip before taking him in deep into your mouth once more, this time only until his tip brushed against the back of your throat. With that, you started to bob your head forth and back in a steady pace, your hands moving in tandem with your mouth, giving him as much pleasure as possible.
You twisted your hand, varying the pressure of your hand around his shaft; your second hand came up to his balls, fondling them in your palm or squeezing lightly. You put in all your effort into pleasing him while your own arousal was dripping to the floor by now. Every time you took him in, tasted his pre-cum, made him twitch your core send up electric impulses through your body, begging to be pleased as well.
“Do you like my dick?” your heard him ask. A quick look up at his face told him you certainly did, hallowing your cheeks to suck at him again before bobbing your head repeatedly.
When you let him slip out of your mouth, you didn’t give him time to complain or reprimand you; you took your breasts and put them around his dick, starting to move them up and down, your eyes finding his anew. “Do you like this, my king?” you asked innocently, wiggling your breasts between your hands, creating a sight he simply couldn’t resist.
“I would be a fool if I didn’t.” he replied, watching how your tits moved around his dick. You lowered your head, letting your tongue flicker over the mushroom head every time it appeared, licking up his arousal once more. Your fingers started twisting your nipples, finally giving you some pleasure even though it was not the desired spot.
“Damn, Y/n. Pleasuring yourself? I thought I’ve told your that you should put my needs above your own…” he scolded you in amusement, loving the sight of your twisting your nipples while you gave him a tit job.
“I’ve been thinking….my job as your queen is to serve you but….what’s the king’s obligation towards his queen?” you asked, continuously moving around him. Ichiji huffed, grabbing your chin between his thumb and index finger.
“If you have time to think and ask silly questions while your entire focus should be on pleasing me then I guess I was a little hasty in praising you.” He whispered in a deep tone, this bass resonating in your own body.
You bit your lip at his words but didn’t stop your movements; your fingers pinched your nipples hard, making you pant in response. “Maybe that’s because I need your help, my king.” You whispered back, rubbing your thighs together. “I’ve been dripping ever since I started to touch you, my king. Your body has just this effect on me…” you praised him, thinking it will increase your chances of him finally giving you pleasure as well.
Ichiji chuckled at your words and let go of your chin, instead tracing your cheek with his finger. “Is that so?” he asked curiously. “Of course, my king. I’m craving your body.” You kept going, looking him deep into his eyes. “Pathetic.” He purred, making you stop dead in your tracks at his words. What?
“You want to be a queen yet you act like the servant you’ve always been and always will be.” He grabbed your hair and pulled you on your feet, pulling your face close to his.
“But you-“
“- said I would teach you how to be a queen? I did. But the moment I told you to undress and get on your knees you should’ve fought back. Cuz that’s what queens do….”
“You damn bastard, you set me up!”
“I did. But I can’t say I didn’t like what you did. So, as the graceful and just king that I am, I’m gonna make you an offer.” His hand let go of your hair and instead pulled you onto his lab by your hips.
“Since you wanna be a queen so badly, why don’t you sit your dripping pussy down on my face? Cuz that’s the only throne you’ll be sitting on tonight.”

A thing about Kaminari's good nature
I know Kaminari is most likely not the traitor and not a cold-blooded villain but can we like.
Have him snap one or two more times?
The way he snapped at Shishikura during the provisional license exam.
Give me angry Kaminari. Give me Kaminari scaring his opponents to hell by dropping the smug sarcastic attitude. Give me that oh shit that boy is actually dangerous as fuck thank GOD he's not a villain moment.
It's already been established that his quirk is trouble to deal with, by both heroes and villains. He's been one of the key players during the Liberation War. And frankly, just think how fucking scary this boy would be in a fight if he wasn't goofing around all the time. Think Midoriya vs Overhaul.
His character makes me think of a certain saying:
If you're a pacifist incapable of violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.
Give me Kaminari knowing shit well what he could do with his quirk but actively choosing not to. The looks he throws Shishikura? Boiiiiiii. ⬇️
Tumblr media
[Edit] I don't know why I didn't notice this before but the way he literally doesn't defend himself against Shishikuras insults? He's mad he's saying all these things about Bakugo and Kirishima. "I'm not talking about me." Okay. Hell. Maybe that's cause he doesn't see himself as a proper hero? Because he feels he doesn't have the right to deny Shishikuras accusations?
This is his reaction to: "Even in this form your friends are well capable of feeling pain. Your electricity will still hurt them, Kaminari Denki." ⬇️
Tumblr media
Which obviously hits a nerve. It's practically the setup line and scene for his new sharpshooting gear. Most of his developement as a hero is centered around him figuring out ways to fight without hurting his friends. I'd love to see if maybe there was an event in his past or a circumstance that made it important to him, apart from the impracticality of hurting your own allies.
I know in context of this scene, Kaminari's pissed because Shishikura keeps dragging Bakugo and Kirishima and everyone else through the mud. Which is a fairly natural reaction. But consider:
Maybe the reason he looks so angry in reaction to this specific line is because the simple nature of his quirk hurting the people around him is his wound point. Or maybe it's because he's willingly used his quirk in a bad way in the past and is trying to better himself. We have seen him casually tossing around 1.3 million volt in training fights against students in the past, but he hasn't used that in a long time.
In canon he probably does not have the urge to fry someone or kill with his quirk. The opposite. He's a good noodle, Horikoshi has never implied that he had anger issues or villainous tendencies in the past. Every time he chooses to not use his quirk, the focus lies specifically on him genuinely not wanting to hurt his friends. Or, like with Shishikura, he's defending them. He's harmless so to say.
But I love the idea of him being peaceful. The idea of him going through anger management as a kid to get his quirk under control. That he keeps up that goofy positive attitude because he actively wants to be a good person, but if he chose to could and would absolutely fry a bitch. Which again, we have seen him do. See the Sports Festival arc.
I'm trying to see this in slack context of the split-personality theory. Like electricity has a positive and negative side, Kaminari might have a dark side he's trying to conceal. Not to the extreme of a personality disorder, but the fact that if he's angry, he's scary.
The thing is, most of the time we see him yelling or angry or frustrated, it's in a funny context. Comic relief. The only time we've ever seen him seriously mad is during the license exam.
I honestly think Kaminari is one of the most realistic and fleshed out characters in the whole series. He feels super human, because he contradicts himself in lots of ways, because he has flaws and gray zones in his behavior and morals, because his emotional reactions to all the shit getting thrown at the students are absolutely relatable. And at the same time he doesn't exactly lean towards one extreme of an archetype as we often see in anime characters.
So adding another layer to that by breaking through his fundamentally good nature and maybe showing how it came to be would absolutely fuck.
Also just.
Goofy characters snapping. Please.

Descendants of Despair Part 78
The room seemed to close in around me. My heartbeat thundered in my ears. My mind ran through every miniscule detail since my arrival, searching for an elusive moment. I forced myself to see everything, as I had done when I had arrived. As I scavenged for information, I saw the massive error that had likely led to this whole situation. The entire time that I would usually have spent ensuring safety, going through escape routes and practicing again and again, or drawing up plans, or making a mental list of every little thing that could even be remotely threatening...that entire time I had spent in a whirl trying to diminish my feelings for Jake. And, for what? To end up running back into his arms, piled with more danger than before?
I snarled under my breath, realising just how dangerous I had actually made things by coming here. At the time of my arrival, I had been fairly smug, thinking I was taking in the external escape routes of the home and noticing enough that would keep me safe. Keep us safe. Now, there was nothing I could do. I shook my head and leaned back against the wall. 'Suck it up, Princess,' I screamed internally. 'You made the choices that got you here, now fix it.' With that thought thundering through my mind, I forced myself back into the room and was met by worried stares.
'They think you're crazy,' the thought wormed its way through all the others. They had every right to. My mood hadn't exactly been stable since I had arrived, far from it in fact. "Something happened," I said, slowly, buying myself time to try and decide exactly how much to let them know. They watched me, standing closer together. Supporting each other.
"I..." I began, thinking about all that had happened in the Aurora, then stopped and swallowed, changing my original trajectory to keep more information to myself. "Someone tried to jump me as I was leaving the Aurora. If I hadn't been quicker they would have caught me." Lilly gasped and Dan grabbed her hand, soothingly. "I'm not sure if they were after me for information on Jake...or just after me. Either way, someone knows I'm here and doesn't want me to be. If you haven't told anyone...then I have missed something. Whatever that something is...it...well it can't be good."
"But, MC, what if it was from the Man without a Face?" Lilly squealed, eyes wide. Her concern seemed genuine, but I still eyed her suspiciously, looking for any micro-expression that may show a different and truer emotion. When I couldn't see any, I moved on. "If it was, then he has people working for him." I shrugged, casually. If it was the Man without a Face, at least I knew what he wanted. It didn't spell too much more trouble for Jake and I. It did put a lot more pressure on us to get out or solve this shit and move on.
"If it is the people after Hackerboy...you need to stay well clear of him. Let them go after him." Dan snarled, then added, almost grudgingly, "He's more than capable of defending himself." I nodded thoughtfully, watching Dan as thoroughly as I had Lilly. Protective. Big brotherly. He really appeared to be nicer than he had originally led me to believe. I sighed and pressed my finger and thumb to my eyes. "I don't know if they know I'm here," I groaned. "I don't want you or Lilly in danger...well any more danger than what you are already in."
"Hannah is my sister and Dan's friend. She wasn't anything to you, but you are still out there, putting yourself in harms way, for her. We owe you a safe place to rest your head. Heck, we probably owe you far more than that." Lilly declared, solemnly. I felt the corners of my mouth move upwards in a genuine smile. "Thanks Lilly," I whispered, suddenly uncomfortable with the situation. "So...what should we do next?" I asked, making a sudden decision to include them. 'You don't have to take their suggestions. Keep them busy. They may come up with a good solution that at least delays the inevitable.' I told myself as I watched the duo give each other a look of steely determination, then turn to face me once more. "Now, I think we need to meet them at their own game," Dan announced.

No one knows how to get to Kamski's castle, since the pike is guarded by the darkness war spirit (actually Kamski being the powerful magician he is, sealed the war spirit to the castle, condemning it to the protection of the whole rock he lives on).
On their first attempt getting to the castle, Hank gets injured, and they're forced to retreat to Nestlepeek
Connor stays near Hank as he recovers, and can't help but touch him with noticeable loving attention. Nines sees him but just decides to say nothing, knowing he's too emotionally compromised with Gavin to give his brother a lesson. Gavin is totally oblivious to that, he's just very bad at hiding his concern for Hank (yes ! he is low-key worried for his human comrade).
X
Nines somehow gets to talk calmly with Nines, for the first time since the street fight.
Nines : I just don't understand. You've always been so ambitious, always training to be more powerful, why don't you use this aspiration to channel the power source and thus use it? It doesn't make sense. Gavin : It's… It's just too fucking much to process okay ? This war spirit is in me, I can feel its thirst for blood and violence all day long, and I know I can't control him because I…
Gavin just stops before he can say he's too confused with his own priorities now to have a defined goal he can use to canalize the spirit's energy. He used to know what he wanted to do with his power, but now, he feels a latent part of him wants to use it to protect his partners, Hank, and the two snowy idiots. He's still not ready to admit it outloud and thus, the spirit having no specific goal to unleash its violence, is in fact uncontrollable.
Nines, who is a bit more honest with himself than our favorite rat, already knows he cares for Gavin more than he should in regard to his given mission, and just feels so useless when Gavin refuses to talk to him. At this point Nines only wants to help him. He looks quietly at Gavin's nape, where the seal of the war spirit is still noticeable and forms a delicate golden scar. The Golem feels a little contradictory about this scar, one part of him being satisfied and proud of the mark he was able to let on Gavin's body, and the other part of him feeling guilty for it.
Nines : I'm sorry for this. You didn't ask for it and now you have to deal with… a war spirit and unwanted killing desires. I sometimes forget you're only human, it's not in your nature to use magic. Gavin : … It's okay. Let's just… stop talking about the spirit, deal ?
Nines remains carefully silent when Gavin offers his hand in a casual manly shake. He knows humans culturally use handshakes to settle an arrangement, and decides to ignore the deep and intimate meaning of this specific gesture in his own culture. Their hands meet, as Nines' skin unwittingly turns white at the contact, but the golem doesn't pay much attention since a human can't interface anyway. Gavin's smug expression shows he's  about to say something but his grin fades away as Nines realizes their mistake : in a flash, he can feel Gavin's doubts about his unsaid desire to protect Nines despite his hatred for golems. Nines isn't sure what passed through the contact and doesn't have a clue on what impression Gavin had about his inner thoughts, or if he even felt or saw something. The human is the first to break the contact. He looks shocked, as he meets Nines' eyes and for a moment, none of them can speak.
Gavin : The hell was that ?!
Nines is confused too : … I didn't know it would… interfaces only happen between magic creatures… Maybe… the spirit allows you to connect with me.
Gavin : What the… You read my thoughts ? Nines : It's not… mind reading. I caught a diffuse… "impression".  Gavin : … Shit.
Gavin looks suddenly so betrayed. He looks down and sideways, taking a few steps away, hands on his neck as if he was trying to hide his head between his arms. When Nines tries to get closer, he almost jumps away.
Gavin : Don't- Fuck it, don't… touch me. Nines : I'm sorry, I didn't mean to probe you. Gavin : What exactly did you… hear or whatever? Nines : … I think… I have an answer for why you can't use the spirit's violent spree. Gavin : Fuck you, that was private ! Did you search for it you fucking asshole ? Nines : Like I said, I didn't mean to interface with you ! You too must have seen something from me so stop being a child. Gavin : I didn't-
Nines waits patiently for the end of the sentence but it never comes, as some realization seems to dawn on the human warrior.
Gavin : That nice fluttering in the stomach, when we held hands, actually it was you ?
And for once, Nines is the one to remain silent, his face even but internally too embarrassed to answer the question. No wonder this sensation passed through the connection. For the few seconds their hands touched, Nines was, in a Golem way, experiencing a gesture akin to a kiss, of course he was kind of "emotionally impacted".
Nines : … As I said… let's not embarrass ourselves any further.
And at that exact moment, Gavin realizes that Nines likes him… more than a partner, more than a friend.
X
In their room, Connor is holding Hank's hand.
Hank : So, what should we do ? Connor : I didn't think about it yet. I wanted to be here when you wake up. Hank : ...I still have three days of bed rest at the very least… Are you sure you want to lose all this time when we're so close to the goal ? I mean, we already went through the desert, you don't need me anymore. Connor : Of course I need you, Hank. Hank : Ahaha… It's nice to go easy on me like this but you don't have to- Connor : You have to trust me, when I say I need you. It's not because I think you can help me go faster or even because I think you can help me cross a specific territory. I just… need you because you mean something to me.
Hank stays quiet but tightens his hand around Connor's, looking down right at them, his large, calloused fingers embracing the golem's white and slender ones. A long and deep look into Connor's golden brown eyes tells him there is more into this already meaningful gesture than he might think.
Connor breaks the eye-contact, and Hank realizes how intense the moment was : Connor's eyes inexplicably make him feel comfortable, as if he was floating in a warm air bubble, and he instantly misses the feeling when Connor stops mirroring his gaze to look down at their hands.
Connor : You know… There is this ultimate quest upon us, something we have to achieve to save our people… And this goal governed us like it was the only thing that mattered… Maybe I'm being a selfish brat, but Hank you're so important to me, I don't want you to be injured or killed in all this. Hank : You're important to me too, Connor.  (And then Hank laughs, giving in to his stupid and unwanted feelings.) Actually, you probably couldn't even understand how much you mean to me.
When Connor meets his gaze with a puzzled expression on his face, Hank decides he has to tell him. If anything, Connor could still change his mind and keep going without him, and then Hank will be able to finally move on. He's too fucking old to pine for a pretty boy, and if it's gotta be painful then he wants it the sooner the better.
Hank : I… recently started to develop… indecent feelings… Connor, purposely obtuse: "Indecent" ? Hank : I mean... in a… hum… romantic way. Come on kid, don't make me say it. Connor : Why would "romantic" be "indecent" ? Hank : Dunno, I'm old and pathetic, you're young and cute, sounds indecent to me. Connor : Hank… I love you too. Hank : ...You, huh... Sorry what ? Connor : I mean every single word in this sentence, Hank, I really do. Hank : … Oh.
Connor chuckles at Hank's blank expression, as his poor brain processes the information with unprecedented difficulty. And as Hank starts moving again, his brows frowning and his mouth forming an "o" like he was gonna say "why ?!", Connor just leans towards him and brushes his beard with his lips before meeting his mouth, softly.
And god, they love it. Hank leans forward to deepen the kiss, Connor catches his beard, his fingers following the edges of his chiseled jaw until they reach his neck and nestle around it.
And it's a weird sensation to Hank because he used to know what was hot passion and what was tenderness, and at this very moment, he could feel both in Connor's grip, burning fire and smooth touches at the same time. That's it, love, love everywhere.
They separate because the older man needs to breathe and hopefully, Connor remembered it because Hank was just gonna kiss him until he falls unconscious.
Hank : Am I dead ? Connor : You're thankfully alive and safe, but you need rest. Stay calm. Hank : I can't  believe it… i'm… almost scared of falling asleep and realize you're gone when I wake up. Connor smiles smugly at this : he takes Hank's hand in his own, kisses the palm softly, his deep dark eyes locked on Hank's.  Connor : Sleep tight. I'm not going anywhere.
X
So, as soon as Hank can walk again, the party goes back to Kamski's peek.
Hank : I feel better but I admit that I don't think I'm able to fight anything right now. Maybe we can find another way ? Gavin : Humans and Golems can't beat a war spirit. But, huh… a war spirit could do. Nines : … Is that you you're talking about? Gavin : 'Know another war spirit around here ? Nines : But you… you can't control it… I mean, you're obviously facing a dilemma with your own motivations right now. I don't think you should endanger yourself in this state… Hank : What dilemma ? Gavin : Not your business. It's fine, I just need… I just need to meditate a little bit more. Connor : We don't need much more than a distraction just a moment until we reach the castle. There we'll activate the seal and it should stunt the spirit for some time. Nines : I'm not letting him go alone. Gavin : Still don't trust me, snow man ? Nines : I'm concerned for your well being. I wanna help. Hank : Well then we can do that. Nines and Gavin take care of the spirit and Connor, we get to the castle as fast as we can. You're good ? Connor : … Yeah, that sounds good. I just need to talk with Nines. In private.
Hank and Gavin just look at each other, surprised, but then they leave the brothers for their serious talk.
X
Connor : What was that ? "I'm concerned for you well being" ? Gavin is right, only a war spirit can compete with a war spirit… even if we wanted to, we couldn't help. Nines : Gavin can't control his spirit. I saw it when we interfaced, he truly can't, no matter how much he meditates, as long as he will have this dilemma, he can't make it. Connor : Wait what ?! Interfaced ? How ? Nines : Guess the spirit makes him sensible to magic connections. Connor : What's the deal ? Why can't he control it yet ? He's strong enough, and for what I know, ambitious enough, so it's only a matter of… Nines : He's confused. He grew fond of us, and he knows we're basically enemies. We're all being reckless, he's the only one to keep this truth in mind; if we can't reach Kamski, or if he refuses to help us, we'll have to go back to the war we left, go back to kill each other. He can't resign himself to accept his attachment to us if we're going to be his enemies again. Connor : … Do you think he can make it ? Against the darkness war spirit ? Nines : I don't. That's why he needs me there. If the thunder spirit takes control of his body, I'll be there to hit the seal in his neck. Connor : Oh Nines… You love him, don't  you? Nines : … We're selfish and weak, Con. This mission… our whole kind is waiting for us to succeed. And we're threatening this long awaited deliverance because we fell for humans…  Connor : ...That's why we can't fail. I understand you're worried but maybe… Maybe that's the reason why Gavin wants to try : he knows we can't fail now.
X
In the final act, Gavin and Nines get ready to fight with the war spirit, while Hank and Connor plan on reaching the castle as fast as they can, and find Kamski.
Gavin and Nines are hiding near the war spirit.
Nines : … Are you ready ? Gavin : I don't really have a choice there.
Gavin breathes deeply and steadily, to focus and calm down before entering the arena.
Nines : I'll be flying right behind you, okay ? It's factually stronger than me, so I have to maintain minimal distance with it, but I'll be ready to hit your seal when you need  me to, and help you run away if you're in a bad state.  Gavin scoffs : Thanks Snowman, I feel so confident right now, with you believing in me like this. Nines : … Sorry I just… worry. Gavin : Look, I was right, at that time, I couldn't do it and I was totally right. But today I… I'll do it. And I want to prove it to you.
In front of Nines' incredulous stare, Gavin offers his hand : Nines narrows his eyes as he detects static electricity all around his fingers, as if his spirit was already eager to fight.
Nines : … Do you know what it means to us, Golems ? Interfacing with someone ? Gavin : Enlighten me, snow man. Nines : ...I'll tell you if we survive this fight. Gavin : Huh… fair enough. Now, take my hand, I'll show you.
Nines gulps nervously and reaches for Gavin's hand, his own fingers turning white as he gets closer to the human's warm skin.
And he can feel everything. It's a lot less blurry and chaotic than the first time, as somehow Nines' first sensation is Gavin's serenity about sharing his deep feelings. He catches a volatile thought that flies through the human mind, saying in a flippant tone "we might die, no need to get embarrassed", and smiles at it. Interfacing with Gavin is very special for some reason : Nines had interfaced with other Golems before but it was never so vibrant, so intense. "Maybe that's because we're about to die" he feels, and for a moment he wonders if that comes from him or from Gavin. Nines feels like Gavin is an extension of himself at that very moment. Suddenly, the realization he's gonna fight against a gigantic, ancient war spirit dawns on him. He feels scared, sure but somehow, confident as well. He can do it. He will do it now, because if he fails, he'd give up on his people in Detroit, his friends Hank and (surprisingly) Connor. He would give up on Nines and he's not ready to. He used to fear that he was making friends with an enemy… That they'd have to separate at some point, and go back to where they belonged, Detroit and Jericho. But if Gavin fails now, Detroit and Jericho are doomed. He used to fear that death was preying upon him… now he fears that his team could die. That Nines could…
If he fails now, Nines and he will be dead, and that is much more scary than befriending a Golem.
Nines frowns as he feels Gavin's hand twitching in his, as if he was about to draw it back. He wants to stay connected, he wants to melt into Gavin's mind, because he feels so scared right now.
All he can catch is a glimpse of something that sounds like "I have found some higher purpose in life than my own existence", before Gavin breaks the contact.
When Nines opens his eyes again, they're wet and his breath is short. Gavin too, seems a bit shaken up by the interface.
Nines wonders what exactly the human saw/felt/heard from him and feels very self conscious for a floating second. He wants to kiss the human, he can feel it in his vein, the fire of love rushing, burning his cold body. Gavin must have felt it through the interface… and somehow, Nines wonders if he knows. He doesn't seem shocked or… disgusted.
Gavin : You okay ? Nines : Yeah… I'm ready to go.
Gavin exhales sharply : Alright, let's do this.
Nines : I've got your back. Everything will be alright.
So they get out of their hiding spot and as Nines takes off, Gavin summons the thunder spirit.
X
We then follow Hank and Connor, who are climbing up the rocky column at the top of which Kamski established his castle. Actually, Hank climbs it and Connor flies around to help him find the safe grips.
They're constantly attacked by monsters with long members (parts of the war spirit), and can't fight them all back. They decide to run forward, and they finally reach a huge grid in a tunnel : Connor can pass between two bars, but Hank can't. Behind them, the monsters are getting closer.
Hank : Run before they catch us up ! Connor : Wait, there must be a way for you- Hank : I'm sure there must be, Connor, but we won't find the solution in the next few minutes we have. You have to keep going without me. Connor : What are you gonna do ? They're gonna outnumber you, and… and you're still healing from the last injury--- Hank : You have to find Kamski ! He must know how to stop those monsters, and the war spirit out there. He can help us ! Connor : … Yeah, right.
Connor puts his hands on the floor and ice columns grow up from the ground, keeping Hank in a safe space. When the man looks back at Connor with tenderness and gratitude, Connor kisses him through the bars.
Connor : The ice won't last long but it can buy you some time… Hank I… I love you. Don't let me down. Hank : I swear. Now, run, and don't look back.
Connor nods and starts running to the castle, as the monsters start to attack ferociously the ice cage Connor created. Hank knows it's not gonna last much longer, and that he'll have to fight. He prays to be able to see Connor again.

Maybe he's smarter then you too" As he walks away leaving a a angry niragi - @a-simp-20
(Counts as a Part 2 to this)
*Rubs hands together* Heck yeah, more gentle chaos. Time to gently bully this giraffe lizard man again.
Now with the added addition of pancakes! Fun times for all!
Tumblr media
Despite the laws of the Borderlands and the highly likely chance that nobody knows the actual date that passes by, people still managed to produce what someone offhandedly referred to as the 'Borderlands Holy Day'.
Now, what pray tell was the Borderlands Holy Day? Was it a religion?
Despite the fact that it had 'Holy' in its name, no. It wasn't a religion. Although if someone tried hard enough it could become almost like a cult. Wouldn't be the first time.
So what was it?
Well, obviously.....
It was Pancake Friday. The greatest day of the century. The premise was simple enough: Every Friday everyone gets a pancake. A single pancake. Want more? Well, you better bet and compete for other people's pancakes. The only thing more exhilarating to the members of the Beach than winning games and living another day to party and do fuck-all was Pancake Day.
So, of course, when Friday rolled around, people weren't thinking of anything except the spoils of little bets and competitions over the week, thick fluffy pancakes topped with whatever they pleased and whatever the Beach had in stock at the time. Even Niragi was thinking about pancakes, because what's better than bragging about how many pancakes you got that week?
Nothing, that's what.
Pancake Day was great.
Niragi walks down the corridor with the strut of a man that knew he was feared, and he heads to the dining area where the pancakes would inevitably be given out. People were already there, a few making last minute bets in an attempt to win just a little extra amount for the day. Niragi found it almost amusing. Such a pitiful sight. Niragi himself had already gained a total of four whole pancakes, two of which he won off of some idiot who just thought he was really pretty.
" There's a lot of people here. It must be really important, right?" A smooth voice pipes up from just a little behind him, and Niragi is reminded quite forcefully that he didn't come here alone.
" Of course it's important, it's Pancake Day! Haven't you ever heard of it?" Niragi spat, Sakurada merely shrugging and walking away to talk to other members of the Beach. Niragi scoffs and storms away. At least he didn't have to think about the other him anymore, no matter how neat he looked.
He ends up finding Last Boss standing in the corner by himself, watching everyone else with a self made distance, leaning against his katana. His cat was chilling right besides his foot, apparently having her snack before the pancakes came out and making quiet eating noises. Niragi made sure not to accidentally step on her, which wasn't that hard to do. Niragi stares at Last Boss almost expectantly, waiting for even the slightest hint of a greeting, but all the other man does is stare ahead, lost in his own thought.
So, like a completely normal person would do to a guy ignoring the other, Niragi starts poking Last Boss in the side with his sniper rifle.
" Hey. Hey. Hey. You awake?"
Last Boss just continues to ignore him, and Niragi's pokes get a little harder the more he gets ignored. " Hey! Why are you ignoring me! Come on!"
Last Boss finally looks in his direction, and Niragi grins in victory, Last Boss just staring at him blankly. " Fucking finally, you were ignoring me."
Last Boss just continues to remain silent, but Niragi didn't care, instead putting his rifle back to balance on his shoulder as he looks out among the people still puttering about. Niragi could barely make out that Sakurada guy, who was talking to some random nobodies, Niragi scoffing to himself. He points him out to Last Boss, whose gaze follows the direction of Niragi's slender finger.
" See that one? Yeah, that one busted into my room and kept spraying me with water, the nerve of that guy."
Last Boss mutters something under his breath, Niragi not picking it up properly. He glances at Last Boss suspiciously, Last Boss just continuing to stare off at Sakurada without any sign of emotion on his tattooed face. Niragi groans, and he looks back in the direction of Sakurada, only to see that somehow the bastard has disappeared. Niragi frowns and looks around from where he stood to see whether he could see him again, but no dice.
The area was getting more and more full the longer Niragi tried looking, to the point that he gave up even trying. At some point Last Boss' cat had finished her snack, and he could feel Cabot rubbing her body across his legs as well just for the hell of it. He looks down at the feline, Cabot just doing her own thing like she usually did.
" Hey you little fuck. What's up." Niragi mutters down at the cat, Cabot just continuing on her little rub spree before going over to Last Boss and meowing loudly until Last Boss bent down and picked her up, Cabot resting happily with her butt in the crook of Last Boss' arm and her head and front paws draped over his shoulder.
Niragi rolls his eyes at the sight, and finally the time had come, Hatter walking in with the utmost grace, people cheering him like they do every time they see the man, with Aguni not that far behind. Niragi and Last Boss head towards the little stage Hatter insisted needed to be built for Pancake Day, standing in position as Aguni joins them, Hatter going up to the Pancake Podium.
" Greetings everyone! Today is the glorious and absolutely magnificent Pancake Day! I hope all of you have worked hard to acquire your pancakes!" Hatter shouts with arms outstretched like a bird's, people cheering and whooping excitedly. " I, for one, have a total of five whole pancakes, as throughout the week I have worked hard to get them from my loyal and beautiful members, and that one person who sadly perished in a game and bequeathed their pancakes to me for many months to come! May their soul be at rest, the courage of them~" Hatter announces, the crowd going wild.
" Now, may the pancakes commence!"
People scattered to tables near immediately, and the kitchen doors open as the designated chefs come out with the freshly made pancakes on carts. Niragi and Last Boss end up following Aguni and the rest of the executives plus Hatter to what was apparently the special table, used only by them.
Niragi grins as he leans back in his chair. At least Sakurada would stay away for now-
" Oh, there you are!"
Speak of the devil. Niragi shuts his eyes in annoyance as his clone comes over. Several pairs of eyes shoot to him, and despite his eyes being closed, Niragi could still feel the smug and interested smile Chishiya was giving off.
" Oh? And who are you, you splendid looking being?" Hatter's voice rings out. " Your outfit is immaculate, but I have never seen you before. No, wait...... I have seen you! Except less fancier. And usually with a hat. Who is sitting right there."
Niragi wanted to shoot this man so bad.
"My name is Sakurada Dori, it is very nice to meet you." Sakurada greets them.
Niragi finally bothers to open his eyes as Hatter stands up, and apparently does a quick check over of Sakurada, nodding to himself. " Yes, you are absolutely stunning. I love what you've done!"
" Are you the one that made Niragi take off his hat?" Aguni asks, low and stoic as always. Niragi rolls his eyes at that. He didn't intend to get rid of his hat, Sakurada just kind of yeeted it outside his window without even asking. The nerve of this guy.
Sakurada quickly nods. " I will get him another hat eventually, as I promised, but only as long as he shoots his gun responsibly!"
" Is that so...." Aguni mutters, and just kind of nods like a sort of proud dad.
Hatter grins even wider, and claps Sakurada across the back. " Now that's some courage! Hey, what say you, would you like one of Niragi's pancakes? As a sign of strength!"
" What?!" Niragi shouts, and he stands up, slamming the table. Aguni watches him quietly, as does Last Boss, the latter just staring more than a tired gaze like Aguni was sporting at the moment. " You can't do that!"
" But I can! I'm the leader after all, I can say what I want, and what I want is practically law here, Niragi. Remember who your boss is." Hatter smiles at Niragi in that sort of way that Niragi hated, but a firm tap on his arm by Aguni made him relent, Niragi angrily muttering to himself as he sat back down.
" Ah, thank you very much, but I don't need to take his-"
" Nonsense, you deserve it! Besides, Niragi already gets... how many?"
" Well I had four, but apparently not anymore."
" Three is plenty for you! Anyways, so that means you get two pancakes, you funky little ball of glory!" Hatter states.
" Are you sure? Is that alright with you Niragi?" Sakurada looks to the man, Niragi just grumbling some more.
" Don't worry about him, he'll get over it." Chishiya mentions, and Niragi quickly glares at him, Chishiya casually looking back with that damn smug ass smile on his lips.
" Fucking undercooked egg white." Niragi mutters under his breath, Chishiya just continuing to smirk.
Still, the pancakes arrive to their table, Hatter inviting Sakurada to sit with them for the day so he could talk about fashion, mainly about what kinds of hats the other liked, Sakurada easily falling into conversation with him. Niragi just drowns his now three pancakes in maple sauce, grumbling under his breath.
Last Boss was watching Niragi just nearby, eating his single pancake as Cabot got to treat herself to two whole cat-specified pancakes like she deserved, and goes to whisper to his cat, Cabot flicking her tail a little at whatever Last Boss muttered.
" You have a very nice cat there! It must be enjoying everything since it appears to be very well cared for and happy." Sakurada mentions at one point, Last Boss staring at Sakurada silently. Sakurada just politely smiles back, and Last Boss just slowly blinks, then nods.
" Thank.... you." Last Boss says, and Cabot looks up finally, and bumps her body against Last Boss, the man quietly petting her as Sakurada watches with a happy expression at how sweet the sight was. Sakurada makes small clicking nosies in an attempt to beckon the cat over to him, Cabot meowing and wandering over curiously, sniffing at Sakurada's fingers before letting herself get pet by the man softly. " She seems to like me already!" Sakurada says happily, Last Boss slowly nodding.
" That's good. She likes being pet gently." Last Boss mutters, and even Hatter tried to get in on the cat patting session.
" Hey Niragi." Chishiya's voice catches Niragi's attention, and he looks up at him, already despising of what he was about to spew out from his lips. The limestone fox man just smiles at him, pancakes already gone from his plate.
" The fuck do you want now."
" Your clone is actually way better than you. Perhaps even smarter than whatever half brain you have up there." Chishiya remarks, and with that he stands up and walks away from the table, immediately sliding himself into a group of people leaving and disappearing from his sight.
" YOU LITTLE FUC-" He whips out his gun, ready to chase Chishiya down and kill him like he always wanted to.
Water gets immediately sprayed on his face the second he stands up again, Niragi sputtering. " No. Bad Niragi."

Walls Start Falling
“(Y/N), that was insane,” Monica says as you have your lunch break. “Billy never did that. He never cared enough.”
You're still a mess, a confusing, flustered mess. But you made up your mind. Yesterday's events were madness. But it was just Billy being nice, you concluded. Another reason for you to be thankful and to give friendship a chance. Nothing else. “Yeah, it was nice of him to do that.” You try to keep it cool, your voice steady.
“Weren't you even a little bit... Excited about that?” She lowers her voice, even though there's nobody else around.
“Well...” Lying is not your thing, so you just have to tune it down a bit. “I was surprised. Perplexed and... I don't know. It felt good to have someone stand up for me.” You remember how cute it was when Christopher defended Monica, and see it happening to you a while after did send chills down your spine. But there's no reason for you to believe it was anything else. Billy might think he likes you, but he doesn't know you enough yet. That reminds you of another thing you have to tell Mon. “He... Billy told me something weird yesterday.” Mumbling, you drum your fingers on the table.
“What?”
“That he... That he likes me.” It only takes four words to make Monica stand up abruptly as if bit by a snake.
“Why in the hell didn't you tell me that the moment you set foot in this pool?”
You can't help but giggle. “Because it's not a big deal. You can't just decide you like someone you don't even know.” Shrugging your shoulders, you play with your food.
“Look. Something happened to Billy in senior year.” She starts. “He was in this awful car accident and if it wasn't for his sister and her friends, he'd be dead. After that he... Changed. Not completely, but he stopped treating his sister like shit.” It makes you curious. You haven't seen any scars on Billy, and nobody told you about any kind of accident. Maybe you could ask him about it sometime.
“And what does it has to do with anything?”
“It means that he changed then so he can change now.” It has some physiological background she's not explaining. “Just... You can be a normal girl around me, ok? We're friends, we're supposed to tell each other this kind of things.”
It's not that you don't want to open up, you just don't want to think about Billy all the time. But you guess it's ok. You feel like you can trust Monica, even about things you're a little scared about. “I know. But tell you what exactly?” You ask, taking a sip from your lemonade.
Her lips break into a smile. “Like the fact that you find Billy hot.” You almost choke, clearing your throat as you put the glass down. “You said that yourself. Yesterday when you shoved into David's face that he's envious of Billy because he's way hotter.”
“Billy is... Cute.” That's a good word, you decide. It's kind, it's not a lie, and it sounds casual.
“Have you ever seen him shirtless?”
“Yes. We're both lifeguards on Hawkins Community Pool and it's Summer, so yes.” Mon rolls her eyes at you sarcastic tone, but you just smile at her.
“Ok. But have you stopped to actually look?”
“Monica, I won't stare at the guy.”
“Why not? He stares at you.”
“It's different.” You snap.
“How so?”
You don't know how to answer. You don't even know exactly what's going on with you, or with Billy, or with this whole town. It doesn't matter how hard you think, you can't come up with a satisfactory answer, one that will be enough for your brain to stop forming questions. Monica is restless, and sometimes you catch yourself wishing she won't call. And she doesn't even know that Billy kissed you in the cheek. If you tell her that, you'll never hear the end of it. “I don't–” The door is open suddenly and it makes you shut up immediately. And the person who comes in makes you nervously move in your chair, sitting up straight.
“Were you talking about me?” Billy asks with a smirk.
“No.” You burst out, ready to stand up and head back to your chair. But Monica moves first, giving you such a hard stare that it makes you sit back down.
“Gotta go.” She says, storming out of the cafeteria.
Billy sits where Monica was, looking at you, as usual. “You were talking about me, weren't you?”
“No,” you repeat, cursing yourself for lying. “My lunch break will be over in-” you take a quick look at the clock above the fridge. “-three minutes. So I gotta go too.”
“Tomorrow is our day off. What are you up to?” He says when you reach the door.
You do have somewhere to be, thank God. “Mon invited me for a trail in the woods. With her crew...” You lock eyes with him again, and somehow, even though the distance, you feel the weight. It's not a bad kind of weight... It's different. It's gentle. “Wanna come?” It comes out faster than you can process it, so you look down, not sure if you want him to say yes or no.
“Yeah.”
You know he's smiling, and it has an effect on you. “We'll meet up at Benny's at nine. Don't be late or we'll leave without you.”
“I'll be there.” You listen as you walk away, thankful for the forty-five minutes you'll have on your chair without Billy being around.
•••
The sun is casting a beautiful golden light. It will be another hot day, and the fact that you'll be walking all morning isn't going to help. So you picked a light blue shirt with thin straps, short jeans, and comfortable white sneakers. You're leaning against Monica's car, parked in front of Benny's Burgers, doing a side french braid on your hair as you wait for the guys to get here. There's a fresh, morning wind blowing, and you breathe in the soft smell of coffee coming from Benny's. You didn't tell anyone about inviting Billy, so, if he doesn't show up, you won't have anyone talking about it.
Minutes later, the rest of Monica's crew gets here, five minutes before nine. You feel a little relieved that Billy won't come, actually. You've been trying to understand why the guy is making you so nervous when you're set to pursue nothing but a good friendship. Being confused is tiring. “Well, let's go,” Jason exclaims, and immediately, everyone starts getting in the cars. You're moving to sit on the passenger seat of Monica's car when Christopher calls shotgun. Great.
You're about to get into the back seat when you hear a car approaching, dangerously fast judging by the loud noise, and then it stops. You stand up straight, feeling your stomach burning when you see it's Billy's Camaro. “What the hell,” Mon mutters, giving you a glance.
Ignore her, you tell yourself. “Did you invite him?” Jason asks. “Or is he just crashing the party again?”
“I invited him. Hope it's not a problem.” Jason shakes his head no before getting into the car. But not before giving you a smirk. Well, you invited him, so you have to go and say hi. With your stupid heart beating faster, you walk over his car, offering a small smile when he steps out, standing by the door. “Hey. You're almost late.”
“Almost. Get in.”
“I'm going in Mon's car.” You gesture at where the two cars are parked. You get the feeling that you'll just end up in the same talk as last time, so you give up. “Just because I'm literally your only friend here.” Rolling your eyes, you gesture for the guys to go as you walk around the car to get to the passenger seat.
Billy follows the party until they stop randomly by the road. Everyone starts moving, getting their backpacks to get into the woods. You get yours from Monica's car, putting in on your back.
“Hey,” Billy calls, gesturing for you to get over his car with his index finger.
“What?”
He doesn't say anything as he takes the water bottle and snacks from your bag, putting in on his backpack. You watch, arms crossed, wondering why in the hell he's doing it without even asking if he could. Once your stuff is packed with his, he throws your empty bag on the passenger seat.
“Give me that,” you demand, reaching out your hand. “I'll carry through half of the way and you carry on the other half.” You raise an eyebrow at his smug smile as he hands you the pack. The moment he releases it, the weight pulls your arm down, and you have to push it back up before it hits the ground. “Damn, what do you have in here?” Suddenly you don't wanna carry this thing anymore. You should've just played along.
“Don't worry, princess, I can carry it.”
Shit. That name again.
“Fine.” You give him the bag, moving closer to the others.
“For the sake of our health, we're not going too far today,” Christopher announces, leading the way.
He keeps saying things, but you're not listening. You have never been in the woods, and you're too busy looking around, taking it in. Diane was lucky to have grown up in such a place, so beautifully calm, close to nature, being able to just run a few miles and be among the trees. You easily fall back, walking slightly slower than the party, mesmerized.
“It looks like you're enjoying it,” Billy says, and you notice he's purposely keeping your pace. But what else would he do? You're the only one he talks to in this group.
“It's beautiful. Living so close to the woods... It's just amazing. I can't believe I actually live here.” You're smiling like an idiot now, your eyes moving from the trees up to the blue sky. “What about you? Do you like living here?”
“Not in the beginning, but I got used to it, I guess.”
“I'm from New York, so you get the difference.” Shrugging your shoulders, you see something through the corner of your eye. It's small, and it jumps from a tree to the ground, running away. “A squirrel!” You exclaim, gesturing at a tree on our left. “I saw a squirrel.” Giving one last look at the group, you start moving to where you saw it going to.
“Wait up,” Billy calls since you're trying to walk as fast as you can without tripping on any branches.
You scan the woods, looking for any sign of the small animal, but you don't find anything. There's a slight slope on the way, so you use a fallen tree as a support as you move through it. But a rock moves under your foot, making you slip and fall on your butt. A low whine escapes your mouth when you feel a sting on your calf as you slide down the rest of the slope.
“Hey.” Billy is suddenly before you, you don't even know how he got here so fast. He pulls you up, holding your arms. You're laughing though, and the confused expression on his face doesn't help much. “You ok?”
“Yeah, I'm alright.” You look up, noticing how close Billy is. His blue eyes are like the ocean, beautiful, calming, and peaceful. Not the kind of eyes you'd expect from someone with the reputation he has. Clearing your throat, you step back, dusting off your clothes. “The squirrel won this round, I guess.” You can feel his stare as you look down.
“There's a cut on your calf.” He gets on one knee, taking your left leg by the ankle.
“What are you doing?” You mutter when you almost fall for the sudden loss of balance. You use Billy's shoulder to keep yourself steady. You feel his thumb on your skin, watching as he carefully removes the blood from the wound to take a better look.
“It's just a small cut. You'll survive.” He says as he stands up, those blue, piercing eyes on you again.
That was... Weird. To say the least. You just don't get why it made you so nervous. You really need some time away from Billy to think and think very carefully, to get things figured out. “We should get going or we'll get left behind.”
“As you wish.” He gestures for you to move, and that's what you do. But when you're about to climb up the slope, Billy comes to stay near you, a hand on your side when you use the fallen tree to pull yourself up. You just decided you don't like him touching you. If that's what makes you nervous, you have to avoid it.
But how are you supposed to be friends with someone you can't touch? Friends hug all the time... Damn it, why does it have to be so confusing? You blame Billy for this, even though this is not really his fault. Or is it?
“Hey. Monica told me something about a car accident. In senior year.” You decide to ask, and hopefully get a nice conversation that will keep you from getting nervous.
“Yeah. I was going on a date when... I hit a deer and crashed the car.” By how dark his voice gets, you can tell those aren't pleasant memories.
“Was it bad?” You move to walk closer to him as if it would offer any kind of comfort.
“Very.” He confirms. “If it wasn't for my dipshit sister and her stupid friends I'd be dead.” Despite the mean names, he flashes a small, quick smile. “Things changed from that day on. I couldn't hate her anymore.”
“And why did you hate her before?”
“Everyone says I'm an asshole but I was an even worse asshole before. But that day, it just... Clicked. After years of having me treating her like trash, she still went through a lot of trouble to save my life.” He lowers his voice, barely a whisper now. “And I'm not sure I was worth saving back then.”
It breaks your heart a little, to see how some of his walls just fell to the ground. You wonder if he told this to all the girls he has been with. “And when are you going to introduce me to your sister?” You try lighting up the mood a little, elbowing him.
“Are you inviting yourself to my place?” His smirk is back, but it doesn't bother you. You're actually happy the heaviness in his voice faded away.
“No.”
“You already have a place to be on your next day off.” He's clearly not asking.
“I'm not going to your place, Billy.” Despite being glad the atmosphere changed, you still have to set up some boundaries.
“I'll make Max stay home. I'll even let her invite the kiddos.”
Running a hand through your hair, you start playing with the tip of the braid. “Only if you order pizza.” You give him a quick look, admiring his smile. “But I'm paying this time.”
“No way.”
“Then I'm not going.”
“You're very stubborn.”
“That I am.” Smirking at him, you move to walk backwards, right before him. “I'll stop by your place to meet your savior sister and her savior friends and I'll pay for the pizza. Deal?”
“You should really watch where you're going.” The moment he's done speaking, your back hits a tree. Billy comes closer, standing there, way too close for your taste, looking down at you. It reminds you of when he kissed your cheek, the sudden proximity that made your stomach burn before the feeling his lips on your skin. “Deal.” He whispers, moving away.
Closing your eyes for a couple of seconds, you take the deepest breath you can, thankful that he moved away. He's doing that on purpose, you're so damn sure. Rolling your eyes, you set in motion, now listening to the low chattering of the group.
“Billy. Let me get some water.” You quicken your pace until you reach him, searching through his backpack until you find your bottle. It's still cold, thankfully. “Want some?” You watch as he shakes his head no before you drink. You take a few sips, closing your eyes at the good sensation of the fresh water in such a heat. Suddenly you feel the bottle being pushed up, and the water spills all over your mouth and nose, rolling down your chest. Opening your eyes abruptly, the first thing you see it's Billy's amused smile.
“You're such a-” You move forward, holding the bottle tightly as you throw some water on him. “-idiot!”
He bursts into a laugh as the fight begins. You're struggling to throw what's left of the water on his face as he tries to hold your arms. “You gave me no choice.” He mumbles under his heavy breath.
“Shut up,” you yell, your voice altered by the laughs. You're trying to set free from his grip, but he's stronger. You use your body weight to try and make him move backward, anything that could give you a chance. “Jerk!” As you speak he somehow manages to take the bottle from your hand, throwing the water on you. But you think fast, moving your body closer to his as you push his arm, so the water ends up falling on both of you.
“Hey, kids!” Jason shouts, and your head immediately turns at the source of his voice. You're both frozen now, as you notice the whole group stopped, looking at you. “Let's go!”
Clearing your throat, you struggle not to let your mind process the closeness. How you pushed yourself onto Billy, collapsing on his chest. “Let's go,” you tell him, stepping away. “Jerk,” you repeat, failing to hold back the smile.
