I'm really sorry anon but I don't really like doing stuff related to shipping unless it's to do with stuff that's actually canon. Mainly because I want this account to be enjoyable for everyone, my deal is posting facts and textual analysis, and because I'm not a massive shipper myself so I don't really feel equipped to answer things like this, especially since it could encourage more asks of a similar nature. This is moee like a scenario rather than a headcanon but hear me out basically oddball 1-2 hiding from a teacher in the janitor's locker which is like a really tight space so the two are pretty much pressed against eachother. While Tsukasa scolds Rui and all that he ends up unconsciously resting his hand on Rui's chest. Rui is touched starved as fuck and his heart skips a beat which Tsukasa notices and he looks at him like "did your heart just skip a beat omg you're blushing too you're so adorable" and they kiss. The janitor later on sees them walking out and Tsukasa has his face and neck covered in those cartoony kissy marks and Rui's lipstick just so happens to be smeared a bit. I thought of this in class i think it would be very silly idk :3

It's a very small detail, but one thing I've been noticing is Haruka seems excited to do things that idols do but her image as an idol did not allow her to do. She suggested a stream where MMJ wear each others clothes, there was more context but she got MMJ to dress up as shrine maidens and volunteer (something Nene was convinced is below Haruka and had Mizuki going nuts), and here, Airi barely stops her from demonstrating applying her body lotion on stream.

every time someone says "an should have been vbs's leader" or "saki should have been leo/need's leader" i want to . slam my head through concrete. oh you missed the point so bad

1. the "leader" thing is kind of really fucking insignificant outside of where each group's story begins and promo materials. it doesn't mean one character is the "main character" of the group. project sekai doesn't HAVE a main character in the first place it's not that kind of story. each individual character is equally important to not only their group's story but the over-arching story of the whole game

2. leo/need's story begins with ichika because she is ultimately the one that brings them all back together. not saki. it is ichika's determination and frankly stubbornness that gets through to shiho and honami. like, saki was literally ready to give up on reconnecting with honami! (out of love and respect for her choices but like) if she was the focus leo/need would have been honami-less!! but ichika refuses to let it go. much like she refused to let go of their friendships throughout all of middle school.

when the story begins, we see ichika burnt out and hopeless. but that's only after years of trying and trying and trying and trying again to reconnect with shiho and later honami. this fandom does not understand ichika's character well . she's not meek and she doesn't back down easily she's not some like... fumbling "girlflop" she's incredibly driven and strong-willed. she lost some of that due to depression and isolation but as of leo/need's most recent arc ender she has pretty much regained her fiery spirit. she's leo/need's lead singer and MC for a reason

3. vivid bad squad's story opens with kohane because she's the only one who hasn't grown up/partially grown up on vivid street. if an or akito had been the "leader" we would have lost the magic of getting to know vivid street and its people and unique culture. it's all average every day life for them, but kohane is experiencing it all for the first time. it's only through her eyes that the audience can understand just how very special vivid street is

4. one more thing: you could say that the "leaders" represent the themes of each group and the general direction of their story arcs. vivid bad squad, among several other things, is all about improvement and growth and overcoming challenges and creating something new and finding a place to call home within a community. who better to represent that but the socially anxious newbie who never felt like she belongs anywhere and would never do anything with her life?

leo/need is about love and the ability to endure all hardships and preserve that love . it's about having a heart big enough to hope for the impossible and the willpower to make it reality. ichika, in all her hard-headed stubborn painfully persistent glory, is perfect for that.

similarly, mafuyu isn't nightcord's leader because nightcord is ultimately about healing. hope. finding a way to make life worth living again. these aren't paths he would have chosen on his own. he gave up on himself a long time ago. as did ena and mizuki, in their own ways. the best person to represent hope is the one who refuses to give up on anyone and stubbornly believes she can save them all

wonderlands x showtime is about moving forward to a brighter future and not letting the past keep you shackled in place. it's also about having lofty dreams and the selfishness to pursue those dreams. both of these things are why emu Isn't wxs's leader; she lacks that selfishness (i'm not using this word in a negative sense btw; i think being selfish can be a good thing. and sometimes being selfless is a bad one) tsukasa (and rui) has, and she often clings to the past.

and as far as more more jump and all their own themes of hope and never giving up go, of course their leader has to be minori. she brought three disillusioned, jaded ex-idols hope and reignited their passion! she's the walking embodiment of hope itself

tsukasa: writes his name EVERYWHERE. his desk at school has "tsukasa" "tsukasa" "tsukasa" "tsukasa" written all over it, his notebooks too and even his classmates' notebooks (from a classmate)

shizuku: says "oh, madonna!" instead of "oh god" (from my italian grandpa)

saki: tsukasa rides a bike and saki sits on the handlebar & every time they have to stop they fall off but they just get up and go on like nothing's happened (from an old friend)

mizuki: accidentally sends "penis shaped messages" and immediately points it out (me)

ena: is so fucking done with mizuki's penis messages (my friends)

kanade: "uhh i think I'm forgetting something? oh well it probably wasn't important" hasn't drank water since yesterday (me again)

rui: extremely verbose, to the point where everyone around him thinks he's some sort of philosophical genius but in reality he's just saying dumb shit and articulating it intelligently (my italian grandpa again so sorry)

an: sends her friends "hot milfs in your area" messages pretending to be a bot because silly and immediately gets banned ( @robinoullea literally)

airi: wants to be supportive but types way too quickly ( @robinoullea trying to say "10/10")

emu: says the most deranged things in roblox chats and manages to not get censored while her friend (nene) can't even go one sentence without "########" ( @harukaisu )

minori: tries to download a pin and accidentally sends it to a random person and dies of embarrassment (everyone. no one is safe from Pinterest's AWFUL interface)

ichika: goes into a store. gets an ingredient. goes back home. goes back. gets an ingredient. goes back home. repeat until she's got everything to make dinner when it's already 11pm (my forgetful mom)

mafuyu: has the most DERANGED dreams I'm not even kidding ( @robinoullea when he had that one dream where he sent me a tiktok meme of Richard Watterson saying the names of popular pornstars with them flashing on screen for a second each. I've cried real tears about this btw)

kohane: has a chicken farm in minecraft but she's so attached to them that she can't kill any of them for food so they just keep reproducing and in turn the server keeps getting laggier. eventually a creeper explodes right next to it and she throws herself off a mountain (me)

haruka: uses the default pfp which is also the pfp that shows when you get blocked by someone. she also turns her phone off often (which causes messages to not get sent until it's on) so minori always panics and sends her messages to make sure she's not blocked (classmate)

akito: makes gagging noises on purpose because it makes ena gag too and get VERY annoyed and he finds it funny (classmate)

toya: unintentionally causes a lot of fights in vbs regarding what the best way to make coffee is (my whole friend group) (except me i do it on purpose)

honami: whenever someone tags her in l/n's group chat she heroically says "who calls for my help?" ( @robinoullea )

shiho: doesn't have the heart to tell honami how funny it is when she does that (not me i always make sure to mention it)

I've been saying this since the beginning but Minori in the MMJ story has such shonen protagonist energy like the type that's naive and optimistic, sunshine-esque, a ray of light for everyone else, listens to their sob stories without even knowing them and then pulls their hand telling them not to give up, can befriend even their enemies, somehow makes everyone fall in love with them, so on

This MV??? This just proves it. MINORI is so freaking cute with her comically large key running around unlocking the hearts of the other girls (gay ah btw) and she's fully set from the beginning on saving these idols. She doesn't need to completely understand them but she just knows she doesn't want them to give up, she wants to return their hope to them. Because that's what idols do.

And the portrayals of each girl's cages... Like Shizuku is a giant, larger than life, so much so that she doesn't know what to do or what she's done to get as far as she's gotten. She's being monitored by everyone, criticized and analyzed, admired but shunned because she's such a natural at being an idol. She feels awkward and clumsy, unaware of her own power, like she could destroy everything if she so much as moves a finger wrong.

Airi is trapped in a labyrinthine cavern of crystals that surround her on all sides, reflecting every side of her. She's confused about her identity. Is she really Airi, an idol, or just Happy Lovely Everyday? Is she cut out for this? She's reaching upward as she tries to hold on to her dreams but she's too small, she doesn't fit the image of an idol, she'll never reach the level of people like Shizuku.

And Haruka is immobilized, wrapped up in branches of guilt. She's high up and attracting the attention of every eye but she can't move, just as she physically froze up whenever she stepped on stage after she hurt Mai. Her expression and her surroundings are bleak, a sad blue, because she's lost her faith as an idol. But then Minori shows up with her adorable determination and effervescent passion and love with a huge key for her heart and everything turns bright and she can smile beautifully again (OGD the expressions they give each other THEY'RE SO GAY) (ALSO it's really cute that Haruka sings "kitto kanau kara..." and then Minori repeats it, like a reassurance)

And (OH. MY. GOSH.) after Minori saves everyone (the scene with her and Airi is so funny because it's so them) you'd think it would be all fine and dandy right? But the conflicted expression she gives after???? ALDSHFALSHF I could feel her pain. acutely. Because she's thinking did she do well? Is she an idol yet? Then why is she still so plain? Why is she so far behind? The way she clutches her shirT SOBBING. But she's still smiling because it's fine, it's okay, she just has to work harder, she hasn't given up, right? And then the steps crumble from under her and she falls...

Haruka reaches out for her and comes up short. But it's not over yet, because the girls jump in after her, Airi leading the charge. She freed them, she lifted them up, she clung to her faith in them, so of course they'd do the same for her. And then they all grab hands, and Minori's tiny wings sprout into the most beautiful, fullest, strongest pair of wings (TENSHI NO KUROOBAAAAA guys I love angel's clover so much LFHALFH) and she lifts all of them into the sky.

It's juST— IT'S INCREDIBLE. IT'S ART. IT so poignantly relays the MMJ narrative in such a pretty package. AND THE END where MMJ is giving hope to Minori's younger self. Hey is it just me or do certain fans complain about how much they hate the other groups instead of loving theirs.

I don't think calling out the misogyny in this fandom is wrong, not in the slightest (my most popular post is calling out the way people treat ena versus akito because of their gender), but most of the time these call out posts just result in more negativity and arguments rather than any like. Productive discussion.

I don't wanna hear about how minoharu and anhane are more canon than ruikasa and akitoya and are Therefore More Valid And Liking Ruikasa More Is Wrong And Bad (exaggerated but most of the time people do insult a ship in order to promote their own) (also sometimes implies that rarepairs are less valid which is a dick move). I wanna hear about the interesting (and I mean very interesting) relationship that an has with kohane, her feelings of inadequacy and slight envy, I wanna hear about how minori (and the rest of mmj) inspired haruka to get back on the stage, and how minori finally got to "repay" haruka in a way.

I didn't start liking ichika because of people endlessly complaining about how underutilized she is and how You Guys Just Don't Get Her, Read The Stories And you'll Discover That She's Actually Perfect Actually (this one isn't an exaggeration but it was on YouTube not Tumblr so in it goes), I started liking her because I learned about her character, her sheer determination and love for her friends, and her want to resonate with people's hearts from people who really like her.

I'm not gonna pretend the Ruikasa fandom and akitoya fandom can't be annoying, a lot of them are toxic and have a habit of making everything about Ruikasa/akitoya while reducing their relationships with other characters to push their shipping narrative. It pisses me off. A lot. I could write (and probably will write) an entire essay on how entitled and bitchy Ruikasa/akitoya fans can be, and I definitely understand how it can build up resentment towards a ship, and how their mass popularity is most definitely attributed to the fact that they are men (which results in an extreme lack of understanding of their actual characters and overall dynamic, reducing them to "top tall sexy one" and "bottom cute feminine one" which upsets me to hell and back). And calling this out is not wrong in the slightest.

but needlessly attacking a ship that someone likes is not a call out. calling Ruikasa and akitoya "a stupid ship" is not a call out. Actively insulting people for liking it is not a call out. Adding Ruikasa and akitoya tags to your post bashing them is not a callout. It's being a dick. You are not doing anything productive by calling Ruikasa and akitoya shippers idiots or stupid or insulting their taste you are only going to piss people off and you know that you are going to piss people off.

Acknowledge but do not attack. Be civil. And if you cant be civil then save everyone some time and keep it private.

Oh yeah. And be annoying about your blorbos. Make KING kanamafu art. Put shizuairi in Fragile. Talk about how much you love your girl ships and your girl characters and don't event mention the guys, make fanfiction and fanart of the girls, I really really want you to, genuinely, because they do get less rep in the fandom than their male counterparts, so more content of the girls is always great. It feels a lot better than complaining about a ship you don't even like, I promise

(re-sending this after you said you deleted your asks, hope it's not a bother ^^") do you have any guesses as to what the what ifs for wl2 are gonna be? for l/n i'm 99.9% sure it's gonna be what if shiho joined standout and for wxs it's probably gonna be what if rui took asahi's offer. for mmj and vbs i can only think of them going on what ifs from the main stories, like what if minori passed her audition (or maybe if mmj managed to get signed?) or what if kohane never met an, but for niigo?? happy blogversary btw!!

hm. i think it will probably be different events for each character because it's hard to pinpoint exact moments where divergence would affect everyone. particularly with niigo and vbs. individual divergence points would also work better to expand on the more introspective (ish) nature of the wle1 stories, where it was more about looking back at their development and how they've changed and where they'll go now (lowkey it was like clipshow episodes for prsk in case people haven't been reading).

it's definitely gonna be what if shiho joined standout for her, however i could see the other girls using this too. 4=1 and all that, especially since choosing to go pro was a big character moment for all of them. alternatively i think something middle school related could come up for honami.

mmj is hard. probably something to do with what if haruka/airi/shizuku never quit? this will probably be haruka's one, or something similar like "what if mai never got hurt and retired". mainly because there's not a whole lot else you could diverge from with her. i could see it working for airi and shizuku too but it probably wouldn't be the most interesting thing ever because it would probably just be 'they don't like their jobs and everything is easily way better the way things went'. idk maybe they'll cook something crazy. minori is hard to guess because like. she wouldn't give up on auditioning. so i like the idea you brought up of her actually passing one of them, because then that eliminates mmj but she still got what she wanted, so it'd be an interesting thing to unpack.

for vbs an not meeting kohane will definitely be it for either an or kohane. i reckon with an they might try to lean more into something related to vivid street or her family, so i'll go with kohane. i'm not too sure with akito, maybe "what if he never quit football" but idk i don't see a whole lot of potential with that one? if you changed it so his team won the game maybe it could go somewhere but i'm still not sure. and again like with minori him giving up after say, fawo flashbacks or something feels out of the question. for toya "what if he didnt run away" feels inevitable, but uh. clpl has made some questionable decisions regarding that plot point recently so i'd kinda like for them to not touch it.

wxs is definitely arcland for rui. like that's inevitable imo and would be a good way to segue into the next wxs arc, which will also inevitably be about this because the boys' graduation is coming up fast. for emu probably like what if she didn't go with wxs at the end of ohe, or something to do with wonder stage following her grandfather's death (maybe not being able to save it/not hiring tsukasa?). for nene not having stage fright while in her middle school drama group, since that's what led to her even joining wxs in the first place. tsukasa's harder to guess but him actually passing his pxl audition would be funny imo.

niigo is really difficult because multiple points that would make for easy divergence would result in suicide which, yeah i don't think this is the kind of game that's gonna touch that. like, we do get the ideation but i doubt they'd go MCD. the playerbase is getting younger and i think that's a bit too morbid for the kids. that said, mafuyu not finding kanade's song makes the most sense for divergence there. in fact that works for ena and mizuki too. you might be able to do something with ena and art school though. and because i said no MCD for Kanade the most logical option seems to me to be what if her mom didn't die. because then that probably means her dad doesn't work overtime, which means kanade would still have a happy healthy life and niigo wouldn't exist.

Bunch of thought on my latest read event (I read a lot and didn't passed by my bad. I forgot the important thoughts now) :

• Toya wearing make-up willingly is still the most wholesome thing ever. Valentine's event in general was super cute. I WISH I COULD SEE THOSE PHOTOS--

• Ichikana be like me fr. The curse of decision paralysis when you have to buy a gift for someone. (White Day.) Minorin and Airi dragging those girls around was hilarious btw.

BY THE WAY I WANTED TO PULL FOR MAFUYU BUT FORGOT TO LOG IN AT ALL DURING THE EVENT- I hate this so much

• I. I remember nearly crying both during New Year (MizuShiho) event and The Song I Played That Day (Kanade Focus). But I've read those a while ago and it's blurry in my head now. I remember that small Mizuki deserves a hug and Yuuki is the woman ever though.

I'm also cheering and praying everyday for Kanade to heal and her dad to wake up. Sometimes I wish Kanade tried and made him listen to her songs. But Kanade being Kanade, she doesn't dare to. Still, that one would have been fitting...

• Shiho is getting more open about liking cute things, lately. Good for her, good for her. She finally drop the tsundere act a little.

No really with more serious words it's nice to see Shiho open up to people and crack that shell. She has that tomboyish appearance and outward attitude, and it's like she doesn't want people to see her cute side, probably because she'd rather be seen as cool. But what's cool is to drop the desperate attempt to perform who you are to fit an image and just be yourself instead. Yes, even if it means people will think you're cute. It's okay.

• I want to talk about Minori but Minori leave me speechless. She's such an icon. I think some people didn't noticed so I'll write it in big letters :

Minori changed so much since the start of the game.

Not unlike Honami, that girl grew a lot. She went from an idol fan with nothing but a dream, extreme bad luck and her sheer power of will. Had to audition so many times I forgot the numbers. When she finally debuted, she was next to three already known idol, and it made people twice more hard on her.

And by now, not only she closed the gap. That girl CARRIES. She's standing out more and more (and jump!). She's always been an unstoppable force and it's always been what drove the ground further and I can tell it isn't stopping anytime soon. That girl is on her way to surpass her teammates in term of fame and become THE idol ever, mark my words.

She's no more a random fan. The Haruka simp era is over.
