Yes it isn’t fair. Yes Logan doesn’t deserve to be sidelined and feel this level of humiliation and disillusionment. However, this sport isn’t (and won’t ever be) virtuous. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry built on ambition, arrogance and greed. Complying with society’s moral compass isn’t always in a team’s best interest.

At the end of the day points are the most valuable commodity in F1. More than reputation, more than sponsorships, more than a positive PR story.

Statistically Alex is the more consistent driver. A momentary hit to the Williams name in order to increase their potential for points is unfortunately, but ultimately, the correct decision for the team.
