#I’ve just been noticing a trend of very heated sonic characterization opinions and it kind of gets on my nerves

very funny to see ppl argue over what is “accurate” shadow characterization when technically if we’re going by longevity he’s been a stubborn, angry brooding loner for longer now than when he wasn’t.

my point is sonic characters have been written so inconsistently across three decades with dozens of different writers and media that it’s p much impossible to have an objectively “correct” official description of who these characters are and therefore you should just pick and choose whatever portrayals/media you like and have that be how the characters exist in your mind. I just think the “THIS is the right/only way to write this char and any other way is mischaracterization” mindset is a little silly in a franchise that for a good chunk of its lifespan had seemingly zero continuity between games or other forms of media. anyways that’s all, peace and love on planet hedgehog.
