What’s Mothwing’s deal 👀
My bbg I love her. WCRB!Moth is both really different especially how she’s shown but also has many key canon things kept.
For a basic introduction so I don’t make a whole essay just yet on her Dawn was born to her mother Sasha alongside her littermates Dusk (he/him) and Dark (they/it). None of the siblings got to really know the place their mother lived before she had to run away but all they know is this she had many sisters, and that their mother did something that got her kicked out. Their first 4 months were spent wandering, going to find some friend their momma used to know. This ends up being Solis Leopardsoar, the leader of the Riverway, which is their new home. Except what’s supposed to be a far safer home to settle down into turns out to be not so caring. Some stare at the siblings with fear for them and others with fear of them.
After growing anxiety Sasha attempts to flee away with her kits but it starts pouring, raining so hard it hurts the kits with each sharp drop that hits them. One step too far to the left and they fall, swallowed by the river rapids that wished to eat them. Little Dawn and Dusk held tightly to each other but Dark slipped from their hold and into the currant away. Their dark fur gone before they even felt it slip out of the kits huddle. Dawn was bright enough that Sasha could see her and because she held close to her brother Dusk they both were rescued together… but Dark was never found. Lost to the water.
The family returns and the two kits are locked beside each other. They train together and both came out to each other. When Dawn wanted to do something different, try to save lives instead of learning to fight against them, Dusk helped her get the position. Her mentor Mistyfoot while being stubborn and kind of closed off to Dawn respected her choice to move to the role of healing and they even got along better. But it wasn’t easy at all as the current healer Mudmouth wasn’t too happy with letting a cat like her train under him. He didn’t hate her, and even was a bit sympathetic for her situation, but didn’t trust she could do well in the role. He was proven wrong though. As she fought with him again on her receiving training something odd happened, light of all colors bathed her making her so bright, as if drawn in and bouncing off her. Moths flocked to her and fluttered in her fur.
Mudmouth let her train under him at last as a full guardian. To provide spiritual and physically care to the cats around her was everything she ever thought it would be and more. She quickly excelled and became a guardian in just 10 moons of training, which is rather fast since most guardians take at least 12. She made friends she finally felt connected to.
She was named Mothdawn for her connection to the insects and the sign that made her into a guardian. But even as she was named she still felt something inside, like a piece missing from her. The guardian shoved that feeling down and just tried to be happy. Her brother, Duskhawk was a growing member of the Riverway beside her, and while they had some issues they still were close. Her flock of moths was beautiful. Her plants grew wild.
Until everything started to wither away.
