Battinson and Food
He’s vegetarian and I will hear none of your crap
Depression meals, so many depression meals
I already made a post of his greatest hits here but here's three more:
A whole tub of apple sauce
Instant grits mixed with a hot chocolate packet
And a bowl of croutons
Some meals have actually graduated from the “Depression Meal” category to “Whenever I Can Sneak It Out of the Kitchen” status (because Alfred is appalled every time)
Dick, with the invincible, titanium-lined stomach of a 9yo, doesn’t know why Bruce makes them, but he loves taking bites of Bruce’s weird concoctions.
His favorites so far are:
Cream cheese and jelly sandwich
Spoonfuls of peanut butter (with chocolate chips, that was his idea)
And frozen garlic bread
Diner Food is King. (This is New Jersey. What did you expect?) His go-to order is two eggs over easy, well-done rye toast, grits with syrup and butter, and a fruit cup with no melons from the 24-hour place two blocks east. Hasn’t changed since he was five. Never will.
Bruce can cook food that is edible. Edible.
Like if he tries to make Italian, he can successfully cook the pasta. He can make a basic sauce. He can even plate it.
The tomato sauce is crunchy in some places, yes, but it’s fine :) and it is edible
but Bruce has NEVER succeeded in a baking endeavor, and it positively devastates him every single time
“Baking is science! I love science! I’m great at science. So why didn’t the cake rise when I did everything on the recipe?!” “You need to make it with love-“ “That wasn’t on the ingredients list, Alfred!”
He can handle spice surprisingly well. It’s not like he could avoid it while training all over the world, so he ended up building a tolerance, but his eyes still go unbelievably red every time.
He really fucks with bagels (I mean, what self-respecting Gothamite doesn’t) and he has a very specific bagel order for every possible mood from the great place downtown
The workers at Bagel Kingdom know which moods correspond with which order, and they have a designated spreadsheet taped to the back of the counter so they can work accordingly.
They know he’s barely hanging in there when he gets a toasted blueberry bagel with no butter.
He’s having a good day when he gets a plain bagel sandwich with tomato, provolone, two fried eggs, and hot sauce. In that order. That’s the shit
When he’s stressed, he gets a pumpernickel bagel with strawberry cream cheese to cheer himself up.
The workers of Bagel Kingdom will NOT let you disrespect his bagel.
Bruce almost burnt the tower down when he tried to cook a toaster waffle in the microwave while running on 40 hours without sleep, and he just kept cooking it because it wasn’t crisping for some reason
Alfred needs to force him to eat all the time
(It is definitely because Bruce suffers from disordered eating.)
There was one period of time in which Bruce went days without food, and Alfred (lovingly) threatened to send him to in-patient if he didn’t eat
Bruce said that those gross, mushy, lukewarm blueberries were the only thing he’d tolerate when he was struggling, so blueberries became their indicator: if Bruce can’t stomach blueberries, he goes to in-patient.
He’s gone twice, and Bruce was very mad each time, but he still uses healing methods that he was taught in there so it couldn’t have been that bad.
(He’s also friends with some of the nurses now. He, Denise, and Kayleigh have a group chat.)
Dick once convinced him to test taste different kinds of olive oil to learn the difference between regular and extra virgin. It was absolutely disgusting, and he ended up puking an hour later. Alfred now puts child locks on the kitchen cabinets.
The first time Bruce ever makes a meal that doesn’t look horrid is when he spends two weeks practicing Romani dishes for Dick the month after he adopts him.
He has since perfected three different recipes:
Stuffed peppers
Goulash
Cabbage rolls
(Keep in mind Dick is not vegetarian like Bruce.)
He tried making almond cake like 80 times (which is more like a biscuit but still a baked good) but could never do it right so Alfred makes them instead.
At dinner time, Dick always eats off Bruce’s plate more than his own. Alfred has chastised him several times, but Bruce only encourages him more. He thinks it’s cute. And so does the general public when they attend dinner parties.
One of Bruce's favorite memories of his parents is when he had a bad dream in the middle of the night so Thomas and Martha drove him out to the nearest diner to have a chocolate milkshake at 3 am.
Now, after patrol, if Bruce saw something traumatic or something that reminded him of his parents’ death, he’ll go to that same 24-hour diner and sit for a bit with a chocolate milkshake.
He continues this tradition after Dick becomes Robin. (Even if it took months for Bruce to even consider the idea of letting Dick near harm’s way.)
No matter how hard he tries to keep Dick away from the gruesome stuff, he can’t stop everything. They get milkshakes a lot more than Bruce would like.
But eventually, it turns into a treat whenever Dick does well in school or needs a pick-me-up.
And when they add Jason to the mix, they introduce him to the tradition as well.
They know everything will be okay when they have chocolate milkshakes together.

what do you think would be some things that willemmy would have in their everyday/night routine. like how you mentioned that will would wake emmy every morning up with kisses. i’m bad at explaining so idk if this makes any sense, if it doesn’t you don’t have to answer 😭
I got you, don't worry😄 I really just threw that line in there since it seemed to be in character, but I don't really know their day to day habits and routines.
I do head-canon that Em takes pride in cooking and preparing meals for her family, especially lunches for Will when he's in college. I'm not trying to be mean to Rika, but I don't see her to be the cooking type (plus Michael is so weird. Pickle and peanut butter sandwiches, people!). The Fanes' seem like the type to have a personal chef or order for meal delivery a lot, but I don't think that would sit right with Em after they move into their home (their stay in her home before passing it over to Micah and Rory was like a vacation and they ordered out every night). Plus, Emory loves sharing the meals her grandma taught her with Will. I can see him hovering around her in the kitchen, stealing bites when she turns her back, and Emmy trying to swat him away with towels, ect.
But as for daily morning/night routines like what's mentioned in the fic, I don't know.
It would be great to hear some from others! I'd be interesting to know what yall are thinking.

“When I woke up this morning, I saw the whole world staring back at me. Bored, I went back to sleep.”
=====================
It’s that time again where I feel so much all at once that it becomes a delicious thought soup. I’ve found writing helps with it.
My classmates really like my writing so far, at least in the excerpts from the story I’m sharing with the class. They claim it makes them think, and that it’s so outrageously unique that it’s hard to believe I wasn’t on drugs when I wrote it.
Hah. I wish I was.
Pretty much everyone around me has told me that if they didn’t know me better, they’d assume I was on drugs. I’m not sure how to feel about that. I’m also not sure how to respond when it’s a teacher telling me that. The drug changes every time too—this time it was psychedelics. Welp. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when I finally do end up drinking and all that fun stuff.
But not yet. I still have a reputation to uphold. I think many people around me really like me for some reason, though I can’t say what I’ve done specifically to earn this respect.
Tomorrow I read my commencement speech in front of the Panel of Judgement, something my parents have already familiarized me with extensively. That is, my parents are very judgmental. Now look at me. I’ve assumed my reader is a moron. I’m sorry, reader.
Back to the speech. I’ve practiced it a bit, but not in front of anyone yet. That’s less-than-ideal. Oh well. I’ve seen one of the other kids practicing it obsessively. I wonder how they’ll feel when I beat them anyway.
Hah. Like I’ll win anyway. It’s hard to be confident in your own speech when you’ve gone through ten-ish years of speech therapy and still never officially “graduated” from it.
Then again, I did ace all of my Environmental Geoscience presentations last year, as well as doing lots of public speaking in front of important people with lots of money convincing them to donate to hospitals and schools.
But I’ve started bragging again. Look at me again. I’ve never done Model UN or Mock Trial, which many of these other candidates have done. All I do is sit on my ‘puter and do some science. And volleyball.
I embarrassed the opposing team at practice today with a series of incredible blocks and plays. It was honestly a great feeling. I feel a sadistic nature growing in me—I took pleasure in watching that team endure their punishment for sucking so bad against me. This isn’t the me I’m used to, but maybe it’s something that needs to be explored more.
Why am I publicizing this? Why am I willingly publishing the fact that I’m evil sometimes? Here’s a good answer—nobody I know will likely ever read this, or care enough to act on it. And anyway, it’s a prankster sort of sadistic as opposed to a psychopath sort of sadistic. Not that I’d ever intentionally plan to make anyone suffer—it’s just that my actions, which were applauded, also directly led to the compounded punishment of my victims, which also gave me guilty pleasure.
Whatever. I didn’t really have that much power in that situation. My” “victims” are literally just players on my volleyball team that had to run sprints because I blocked them a million times. I’m no evil mastermind or “king of the shadows” or anything edgy like that.
It’s weird actually caring about winning this commencement speech contest and being stressed about speaking. Every other speech I’d ever done had seemed so low-stakes—why’s this one bothering me so much? I suppose I just have to like, embody clarity or something like that.
Again, I’ve got a funny feeling that my speech is probably gonna win, but still… it’s just this sort of like, 70% chance of success (in actuality, if they pick at random, it’s a 20% chance, but I’m feeling confident right now) where I can’t really say “ah, well I’m probably not gonna win anyway” or “I’m definitely going to win!”.
This speech is driving me peanut-butter-jelly-sandwich insane.

Good night lovelies!! I was scrolling down Facebook and a funny meme came up. So, yeah! A meme inspired this fic.
This is set un Modern AU. Basically Kenny makes a barter, exchanging Levi for chicken.
He stifles a yawn in his palm, a tear squeezes out from the corner of one eye. He rubs his belly and takes a long swig of his lager from his ‘shittiest uncle of the year' mug. Slouched on the couch, he folds an arm behind his head, trying to unravel the intricate plot of this weird German series in which people travel in time. Damn brat. This is the last time he watches one of his recommendations.
A buzz on the coffee table takes his eyes off the TV screen. A picture of a smiling Kuchel, a scowling Levi with ruffled hair and a too happy himself lights up on the phone. Kenny groans at the insisting whir and hits pause in the remote control. He hauls forward and sets his beer on the table, grabs his sister’s phone and types 2512.
Bingo!
The notification bar unfurls. Another Whatsapp message from Y/N, Levi’s friend.
“Good afternoon Mrs. Kuchel. I hope you having a lovely day. ❤️☀️
“Me and my family are spending the holiday at my grandpa’s beach house 🏖️, and I was wondering if Levi could join us☺️☺️. My parents, uncles, aunts and cousins will be there too. Boys will sleep in a different room.
“We’ll be back on Monday evening, and I’ll personally take care of your son.”
Typing…
Kenny waits.
“I can bring you fried chicken for dinner today. 🍗🍗🍗
“😃”
The oldest Ackerman harrumphs and begins to reply. He scratches his head, thinking of how to sound like Kuchel.
“Hi, honey.🤗
“You mean a barter? Trading my son for chicken?”
Typing…
“Yes…🙈🙉🙊 If it’s ok with you.”
“Get us a bucket of popcorn chicken nd another of wings.”
Typing…
“Ok.
Typing…
“tysm.
Typing…
“I promise you’re son will be in good hands🖐️.”
“Use condoms and don’t put anything weird in your mouth 😉.”
Kenny grins.
“😳”
Great. He got free dinner for this evening.
“Oi!” his nephew groggily scoffs from the stairs. Levi rubs his hands on his eyes, yawning, then stretches his hands over his head. His hair is unkempt, locks pointing everywhere. Gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt.
“Oi, midget. Get ready and pack stuff for two days.” Levi frowns, but lets it pass this time and heads to the kitchen for a snack.
“I’m too old for camping with my uncle.” Levi jabs, opening the fridge, and picks out the peanut butter jar and the bag of sliced bread.
“You’re going to a beach house with that annoying girl who spends more time here than in her own place.” The last sip of beer slams down his throat. “Family trip.”
“Fuck!” Levi rolls his eyes and plucks his phone out of his pocket. 13 missed calls. “Where’s mom?”
“The supermarket. Y/N will pick you up in a hour.”
Levi lowers his head, his hands flat on the countertop, and sighs. “Great.”
He scrapes the bottom of the jar, peanut butter threatens to fall off the edges of his three-story sandwich.
An hour later, he’s ready. Sitting on the couch next to his uncle, rewatching episode five of the series that has Kenny’s brain mashed like purée. Levi smirks, his green cap spins around his finger.
The doorbell pierces through, and he gets the door.
"Hi!" You chime with a beaming smile. The smell of fried chicken hits him. He squints, wordlessly asking why. He holds the door open for you, and you pad straight to the kitchen.
“Hello, uncle Kenny!!”
“Hey, Y/N.”
“I’ll leave this in the kitchen. And where’s Mrs. Ackerman?”
“Supermarket.” Levi replies nonchalantly and slings his back over his shoulder.
You wave to Kenny. “Please, tell her Y/N says hi.”
He smiles at you, then his eyes scoots to Levi. “Don’t stray too far from the shore.” He haughtily says, getting a middle finger from his lovely nephew.
Thirty minutes later, he is venturing through episode six and shit, this series doesn’t make any sense. The door opens and a sigh of relief breaks from the entryway. “Hey!”
Kenny helps his little sister with the heavy bags, entering the kitchen behind her. “Thanks, big bro.” He winks and ruffles her hair. And that’s when an unfamiliar smell strikes her. She turns around and spots the buckets. “Isn’t it too early for dinner?” She looks back at him. Kenny shrugs.
“they had this flash sale that ended before six.”
“I see.”
He wraps an arm around her shoulders, and both head to the living room together.
“Hasn’t Levi waken up yet?”
“He left with Y/N. They’re spending the weekend at the beach”
“He didn’t say anything.”
“You yourself gave him permission.”
She raises one eyebrow and picks up her phone with suspicion, goes through her messages and slaps a hand over her mouth. Her wide eyes snap to her brother.
“Kenny!!! You traded my boy for fried chicken!!”

Home is where the heart is
Tumblr media
Book: Open Heart x Red Carpet Diaries Crossover
Pairing: Bryce Lahela (M!MC) x Luna Auclair (F!OC)
Rating: Fluff
Words: 3,000+
Summary: It’s Christmas time. Luna and Bryce get visited by Ethan & Hayley. But it looks like Luna gets to fangirl a little first.
A/N: I’m participating in the @choicesficwriterscreations Holiday Event as well as @choicesdecember2022 Day 7 - Middle of the Night
Tumblr media
It’s that beautiful time of the year. Christmas. Though it is a very non-white Christmas in Hawaii. We still enjoy having a great dinner with family and friends. Sharing laughs and great stories. Exchanging gifts.
Our family loves to spend time at the beach. Going surfing, swimming, and having a great time with the family.
These are things that we want to do with our kids when they arrive in March next year.
When I think back to last year? So many things have changed.
Bryce and I were living with Keiki in Boston. I was working at that awful art gallery, which I’m glad I quit. I found something new and something better.
I proposed to Bryce. Which he still doesn’t shut up about. He says ”She put a ring on it“ I laugh silently at that.
B and I moved to Honolulu. We came back to where we both feel at home and alive. It’s our happy place, because home is where the heart is.
We’re carving our own path. Both B and I. While he works at the Kuakini Medical Center I accepted a job offer to teach art at the University of Hawaii.
Months later Bryce and I got our own little miracle when we found out we were expecting twins. Two girls. Can you believe that? It’s still insane to me and I have to grin at that.
We’re getting married, though we’re postponing it for the time being. We’ve both got so many things going on we just don’t want to get married in a hurry and without our close family and friends on our special day.
We also made some new friends. Two wonderful and amazing women. Meilani and Aubrey. Who are a great addition to our friend group.
”Luna?“
I get thrown out of my straying thoughts when I hear a deep male voice.
I sigh as I have to look up and up.
”So what’s on your shopping list? Did we get all the ingredients for the cookies, pies…and tartelettes? I don’t even know what that is, to be honest,“ Ethan says and moves the shopping cart further down the aisle. Past the bread and cereal. I have to grab some lucky charms for Bryce.
Ethan and Hayley are visiting us for a couple of days, before they fly back to Boston. Let’s not forget Jenner. Cutest dog in the world.
So I took Ethan grocery shopping. Best idea ever.
Damn, I hate the fact that Ethan is so tall. I basically have to run to catch up with him.
”Can you slow down? I’m way shorter than you and I’m also 6 months pregnant.“ I say and Ethan slows down blushing furiously.
”How’s the pregnancy going? Any weird food cravings that drive Bryce up the wall?“ he jokes and laughs.
”Does Bryce count as a food craving?“ I ask.
I am trying to act serious but I have to laugh at Ethan’s expression. He looks as if he bit into a lemon.
”I shouldn’t have asked,“ he mumbles.
I want to pat his shoulder but reach his midriff instead.
I grin.
”Don’t get your panties in a twist my little orange blossom.”
He sighs but endures my teasing.
”I know you love me too much to say anything about these cute little nicknames that I use. Between you and me I know I’m your favorite person next to Hayley.“
He just gives me a look and I grin.
”No weird food cravings. If you don’t count peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with banana slices inside as a food craving. Bryce makes a really good one. His pj and jelly sandwiches are the best.“
”Yeah because he can’t screw that up.“
Ethan laughs.
I pinch his arm and he rubs it afterwards.
”Don’t be mean. You don’t have to play the role of the grinch. It’s too early for that.“
I say and ask him to hand me the shopping list. To see what else we need.
We’re all going to make some delicacies this Christmas.
All of the Auclair family. Meaning me, my cousins Soraya, Evie, and Sky. My gran, my grandpa, mom and dad, my aunt Joe and my uncle Joseph.
Everyone is making a Hawaiian specialty. Can’t wait for that food fest.
Keiki and Bryce are going to help too. Although Bryce is just going to steal cookies and act as if the dog ate them. Nice try Lahela.
Soraya and her girlfriend Meilani, who is my OB/ Gyn and works together with Bryce and his other colleague Aubrey will join us too.
Maxi my best friend and her lover? Date buddy? Adam. I honestly don’t know the status of their relationship, but I’d say it’s somewhere between figuring things out and it’s complicated.
Maxi's mom Amara is going to be there too.
As for Maxi‘s brother Caelum? I don’t think he’s going to join us. Since he and Maxi have to meet again and start to patch things up. I just don’t think they are at that level yet. Rebuilding a relationship takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight.
But hey Christmas miracles happen all the time. I‘d wish they would be as close as they were before Maxi's dad died in a car accident.
Let’s not forget my brother and sister whom mom and dad recently adopted. It’s their first Christmas with all of us. It’s going to be magical.
A static voice sounds from the speakers above.
”Attention all customers. Don’t forget today is 50% off on all products from the produce and dairy aisles.“
Ethan and I move further into the condiments aisle.
”I need some cinnamon. For the snickerdoodles.“
I say and when I turn around I can see Ethan looks like a kid on Christmas morning. I smile and love the fact that he feels open enough to share his feelings. Whether he voices them out loud or just shows them.
We reach the produce aisle. Ever since I got pregnant with the twins I‘ve started to love fresh fruit and vegetables more and more.
I grab some mangos and look up when I almost drop said mangos.
I sigh and gently put the mangos into the shopping cart.
”Oh my god. Do you know who that is?“ I grab Ethan’s shirt.
Ethan looks around and tries to figure out who I could mean.
”Who?“
I take his chin and move it in the direction I meant.
”It’s Matt Rodriguez. Oh my god, I need to get an autograph. How do I look?“
Ethan eyes me as if I don’t have all cookies left in the jar.
”You look beautiful as always, but what about our ingredients for the cookies?“ he asks, looking down into our shopping cart.
”Who cares about cookies when you have Matt Rodriguez standing at the produce aisle.“
I say getting super excited.
”Who is Matt Rodriguez?“ Ethan asks.
”Have you been living under a rock E?“ I shake my head in disbelief.
”Does Bryce know you have a crush?“ he chuckles.
”Pfft. Please his guilty pleasure is Matt’s movie, Cactus Rose. We watch it together all the time.“
Ethan whistles.
”I’m seeing Bryce in a whole new light.“
I grin and can’t believe my luck. To meet an actor I admire and let’s be honest he’s hot. He’s got nothing on Bryce of course, but still, he seems nice and he’s a damn good actor.
I look up at the ceiling.
”Santa, if you're out there, thank you for making my wish come true. I promise I’ll make Bryce’s wish come true too if I can get Britney Spears to sign an autograph.“
Ethan snorts.
”Santa doesn’t exist.“
I gasp and look at Ethan as if I swallowed something rotten.
”How dare you, sir! I don’t even recognize you, Ethan Jonah Ramsey! I’d never think that these are the words that would come out of my male best friend's mouth.“
Ethan shrugs his shoulders.
”Well I was just honest. So how about that autograph?“ he asks and points to Matt who is moving his shopping cart away. I’ve got to go there and ask him for an autograph and maybe a selfie.
”Nice segue. Don’t think this conversation is over. But autograph first, cookie ingredients later.“
I breathe out and take all my courage to go over there and ask Matt for an autograph.
”Excuse me?“ I ask and Matt turns around flashing his megawatt smile. I swear I sighed a little.
”Yeah?“ he asks still smiling.
”I don’t want to be rude but my fiancé and I are big fans of yours would you maybe sign my…“ I ask and realize I don’t have anything for him to sign.
He smiles and gets out a card with the logo of his latest movie Cactus Rose to sign for me.
”Could you make it for Bryce and Luna? Otherwise, he’s never going to believe me I met you,“ I smile and Matt grins.
”Officially I’m on vacation with my wife who’s here somewhere. Here I’ll sign these for you Luna.“
I smile and just nod. Not able to form words.
”I’m sorry I’m usually not that starstruck. I think I’d be even more starstruck if I met Frida Kalo or Pablo Picasso.“
When Matt looks at me with a confused look on his face.
”I’m an artist and work as an art professor at the University of Hawaii.“
Matt’s eyes widen.
”No way! Really? You know it’s funny my wife and I are looking for an artist. We wanted to commission a piece for our new home here in Honolulu. Would you be interested in making an art piece for us? I wouldn’t want you to overwork yourself,“ he says and points to my stomach.
”Oh don’t worry I’d tell you if it was too much. But you know what? You can always check out my art pieces for art on the fence. It’s a non-profit group of local artists who present their work. You can take a look and even buy some art pieces. But if you’re looking for something specific I’m sure we can work something out.“
Matt grins and hugs me.
I must’ve squeaked like a mouse.
”Damn I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hug you too hard. Are you alright?“
He asks concern lacing his voice.
”I was just hugged by Matt Rodriguez. Santa sure was good this year.“
He smiles and we exchange numbers. He promises to reach out so we can meet and discuss the art he’d like to commission.
He walks away but then he comes back.
”Can I take a picture with you? I think you’re one of the prettiest pregnant women I’ve seen, including my wife, so I’d really love it if we took a picture together.“
Matt asks, smiling.
Again I just nod.
We take a pic and he waves goodbye. I must’ve looked like an idiot.
I stand there holding my phone and the autographs and just smile.
As I walk towards the shopping cart where Ethan is waiting for me, a grin on his face, I feel as if I’m floating on fluffy clouds.
”Happy?“ Ethan asks.
I nod.
”Very.“
He shakes his head and grins.
I can’t stop smiling all the way to the cash register. We pay for all the ingredients and go to the parking garage. Hopefully, we got everything, and in my fangirling haze, we didn’t forget any ingredients. If not I’ll just send Keiki or Bryce to the store.
When we reach home I almost rip the door open in my haste to get inside.
Jenner greets me, his tail wagging.
I pat him, walk further into the house and he looks with sad eyes at me.
”Sorry buddy I have to share some news afterward you can have as much Luna time as you want.“
He licks my hand I and I smile at him.
I look around for Bryce as Ethan gets the ingredients inside. He said he won’t let me carry the groceries.
My mom smiles at me and Hayley greets Ethan with a kiss.
”Bryce is outside with Keiki.“
Mom says and I nod. Jenner walks over to Ethan. Who showers him with love.
I spot Bryce and walk towards him and almost knock him over in his seat.
He laughs and steadies me so we both won’t fall over.
”Looks like someone missed me.“
”You’re a sight for sore eyes.“ I hug him, because despite my fangirling moment? He’s my forever love.
I inhale his scent of fresh laundry, the ocean, and Bryce.
He kisses my temple and I relax in his arms.
We hear footsteps and see Ethan walking outside, as he joins us in the garden. He hands me a glass of hibiscus lemonade. My gran made it fresh this morning and brought it over.
”Guys you won’t believe who I met.“
Bryce and Keiki share a look and shake their heads.
”Who?“ Bryce asks.
”Matt Rodriguez. At the produce aisle.“
”Come on there’s no way you met Matt. Pics or it didn’t happen.“
Bryce says and looks at me as if he doesn’t know if I’m making it up or not.
I grin and can’t wait for him to eat his words.
”Oh I got pics alright babe. I got a job for a commission for Matt freaking Rodriguez. He gave me his number and wants me to commission an art piece for him and his wife.“
Bryce and Keiki speak at the same time.
”What?“
They both scoot closer as I show them the picture of me and Matt. Both of us smile at the camera.
Ethan grins as Hayley walks out too.
”What are they all so excited about?“ she asks.
Ethan shakes his head.
”Luna met some guy called Matt Rodriguez. Don’t know who that is. So now everyone is fangirling over him. Even Bryce.“
Hayley squeals and joins the fangirling fest too. Ethan just shakes his head.
They all enjoy some time in the sun until they move back inside to prepare the sweet delicacies.
Tumblr media
Three hours later….
”I know you love the British bake-off, but it looks as if you’re not very good at making pastries or sweets in general, am I right?“
”I don’t watch the British bake-off.“ Ethan replies but I just can’t take him seriously when he wears an apron with the face of the grinch. He lost a bet against Hayley and now has to wear it.
I laugh and Hayley joins me but tries to turn it into a cough when Ethan turns around to look at her.
”Even though he watched many episodes he can’t make a pie. Or cookies. Let’s not even talk about pancakes.“
Hayley laughs and steals a piece of apple that’s lying in a bowl for the pie filling.
”You can’t make pancakes? Oh, don’t feel bad pumpkin spice. Bryce can’t make them either.“
I say and roll out the dough for the pie crust.
”Hey come on.“
Bryce says flustered.
”You know it’s true B.“
I say and take the pie crust and put it into the tart mold. So I can pour the filling in and make a beautiful apple pie.
”You’re probably right.“ Bryce sighs.
Ethan grins.
”You folded so quickly.“
He says to Bryce.
Bryce just winks at him.
”Although I’d say Bryce is a little better at pancakes than you are Ethan.“
Bryce kisses me on my temple.
”Beat that Ramsey. Lunes knows her stuff.“
Ethan just stares at us until he smiles.
”I just can’t be mad at Luna.“
Ethan admits.
Hayley grins.
”He’s having a hard time saying no to you.“
Hayley grins and Ethan just sighs but nods.
”He’s not the only one. I meant myself if it wasn’t clear.“ Bryce grins and hugs me from behind.
Everyone laughs and has a great time.
I grin and we continue making pies. Cookies. Anything sweet.
Bryce steals cookies again and tries to blame Jenner.
Shaking my head at him, because we all know he ate most of the cookies.
Tumblr media
4 a.m.
I walk down because I didn’t feel Luna next to me in bed.
When I walk down the steps I see a blue light coming from the tv.
Luna snuggled on the couch and enjoying some apple pie.
”So that’s where you disappeared to.“
I say and Luna almost jumps off the couch. Her apple pie flies out of her hand, but I catch it before it can land on the floor and create a mess.
”Oh my god you scared the hell out of me. Never do that again. It was just getting interesting.“
She glares at me.
”You look way too cute for me to be mad at you.“
I notice that Luna isn’t alone.
”Hey buddy. Why is Jenner on the couch? Shouldn’t he be with Ethan and Hayley?“
I ask and Jenner scoots closer to my hand so that he can get some pats. I grin and pat him behind his ears.
”He got kicked out.“
She replies and sits down again.
”Oh? Oh! Got it.“
We both grin as I join her and she leans into me. Jenner doesn’t want to feel left out so he joins us too.
Sprawled over our legs.
”I hope he’s potty trained.“
I smack him on his arm.
”Bryce! Poor Jenner is potty trained. If you’re going to watch tv with us, there are no mean comments allowed.“
”Am I forgiven?“ I ask and hand her apple pie back to her. She sighs.
”Sure.“ She says and I grin at her.
”So what are guys watching?“ I ask.
Luna swallows a bite of apple pie.
”Sailor Moon. Jenner and I are huge fans. It’s just getting interesting.“
”Oh my god. It’s been a while since I’ve watched Sailor Moon.“
I say and steal a bite from the apple pie.
”Wait, you've watched Sailor Moon? That’s really hot.“
She says and stares at me as if she’s seeing me for the first time.
I laugh.
”It was one of Keikis favorite animated tv shows of all time. Next to Scooby-Doo and Power Puff Girls. But Sailor Moon was Keiki's favorite. Every Sunday morning she’d get up early and tune in for Sailor Moon. At first, I didn’t want to admit that it was good but I started to like it. I even bought the mangas. They’re really good.“
Luna gasps.
”I love the illustrations. I’ve wanted to try myself at creating mangas. You know art is very widely ranged. So manga is a part that I haven’t branched out to yet but I’d love to.“
Luna gets all excited and I’m happy for her.
I love her, even more, when she’s all excited and passionate about a new area of art or a new art piece.
”You can borrow my mangas if you want.“ I offer and she nods.
I smile as we continue to watch Sailor Moon stumble upon a cute cat with a moon on her forehead.
Luna smiles at the cat and we keep watching episode after episode until we all fall asleep right on the couch.
It’s a beautiful feeling to fall asleep next to the person you love the most.

Hi! I have a request, but first i wanna say your writing is absolutely amazing! The length + amount of time you put into these prompts is insanely good. Now! Onto the request, how would the boys react to a reader from a more modern era? Maybe a more modernized hyrule or our current point in time?
Masterlist
Thank you so much for the compliment! I'm happy to see the response even if this blog is still relatively new.
I hope I do your prompt justice.
I probably could have done a headcanon list but I was hit with inspiration.
I also might have given Reader some backstory.
Scenario below the cut! It’s long, take caution.
It was a cool night, but you didn't mind. Your bed was warm, the WiFi was fast and even if it was three AM on a school night, you managed to keep yourself giggling with cat videos and blursed memes until the words and colors merged.
A night well spent.
But it led to questionable decisions.
Even if the shredded cheese in the fridge was beginning to seem a more and more enticing snack, your body was tempted to succumb to slumber.
Until a large purple light encompassed the entirety of your window.
Something was in your backyard.
Aliens. Your tired brain supplies and you sprint to the glass and push away the curtains. Is this it? Is this where I'm kidnapped and never seen or heard from again?
You pull out your phone and open up the camera.
"Pics or it didn't happen." You remind yourself and snap a few before showing your face.
What you see isn't what you're expecting. Instead of a flying saucer in the sky beaming down a laser or a weird pear shaped space craft on top of the grass, there's a single panel of glowing light, swirling with black accents that creeps in a circular motion.
"Cheese and crackers...." You gasp and begin to blatantly stare at it with no regard to whether something may be coming out of it.
You wait and nothing happens.
You wait some more and nothing happens.
You spend an hour watching this portal that has appeared out of nowhere, waiting for something to happen, willing for something to happen. But you get nothing.
The unknown stares right back at you, unblinking and unchanged.
Go through it. A voice tells you. What if there's something on the other side?
"I'm going to die." You gulp and take a deep breath.
Who else gets a chance like this? The voice talks again. This could be a grand step towards a more modern society. A whole new world could be on the other side, waiting, reaching out, calling to humanity!
You think you a see a shadow move behind the portal and out of sight but it’s gone before you can even process it.
"Should I call the police?" You step away from the window, ignoring the thoughts, the voice- you're too tired to know if it's your own any more. What's the plan? How does one go about something like this?
Where’s your sense of adventure? Pack a bag and go! What if it goes away?
That last thought seems to get through to your tired brain and for a reason beyond your understanding, it latches onto it.
Now you’re excited.
You run to the closet and take out your old backpack. It used to be for school but it was fancier since it was the only one you could get. The bag had a replaceable water bag with a plastic straw connected through the back of it and the straps have just worn down enough to where they’re actually comfortable. It doubled as a hiking backpack and came with its own insulated lunch box that clasped on the back of it.
It’ll finally serve its purpose.
You quickly roll up your favorite blanket and strap it in tightly beneath the lunch box. You’re quick to take out two extra outfits and pack them as well as change out of your pajamas.
Ok. What would you need? You don’t know where you’d be going so this has to a catch all kind of deal.
You pack away your swiss army knife first for good measure. A solar powered charger for your phone and an extra pair of socks follow suit even after you’ve picked out the extra clothes.
You take out the water bag and run to fill it all the way to max capacity as you think of any other necessities.
You’d need food. You have a small jar of peanut butter and granola bars that can fit in the lunch box. You can bring your extra water bottle and put in the side pockets of the backpack, and maybe bring some of those powered flavor packets your brother loves so much. You think he has lemonade and some green tea ones.
Those would be great. He won’t mind, hopefully.
You let the bag overfill momentarily before running back to shove it in your bag. with the lid screwed tight.
Next you run to the kitchen, grabbing the first things that you thought of already and begin to look around for more.
You grab an unopened pack of beef jerky, a bag of veggie sticks and a half eaten bag of dried mangos.
During your search you grab the water bottle and fill that too.
You return to your room with your bounty and begin to carefully put everything in the box. With some more deliberation, you run back to the kitchen and make yourself a quick sandwich, eat it, make another one and pack that as well.
You look out side the window and the portal is still there.
The sun is beginning to rise now so you’re trying to go as fast as you can, unless you want to neighbors to think something is going on.
Even if it is.
You’re about to leave but in a stroke of brilliance, you run to pack sunscreen and bug spray as well. You see a small first aid pack that was bought recently for when you would take your family vacation but you reason that it might one of the most important things you’d have if you got hurt.
Into the bag it goes.
You grab your hoodie before you leave the door, wrap it around your waist and pocket your phone, your headphones and your wallet.
You feel immediately under packed when you step outside and see the portal up close.
It’s weirdly triangle shaped, you think and step closer.
You reach your hand out and try to touch it. It feels as if you put your hand through a humidifier but it’s not wet. It’s misty and cold but not necessarily unpleasant.
An idea hits you right before you take your first step through.
You pull up one of the earlier photo’s you took and send it to your friend’s group chat. It showed up in my backyard. I decided to make a bad late night decision and I’m going through. If you never hear from me again, I want you all to fight over my electronics. Winner takes all. Godspeed.
And you step through.
You had first assumed that it would merely take you tot he other side but very quickly realize that you have to walk through it.
The first part still had a little light but with time, it got darker. So dark that you couldn’t even see your hand in front of your face.
You kept walking.
As fast as the light disappeared, it came back and you stepped into the light of an open field, right in front of one, two, three, four, nine males that had appeared to be traveling towards you or rather, towards the portal.
The portal disappears in the process.
“Oh so we didn’t have to go through it! We had to gain another member!” One of them yells. “Would have been nice to know before we packed everything up!”
“Ho boy, where am I?” You ask and tighten your grip on your backpack. Why didn’t I bring a weapon?
They all had long tunics and swords on their backs. Old fashioned leather boots and hand bracers were the norm in this group and you realized very quickly that your jeans and t-shirt had wildly missed the memo.
“Dang, I didn’t think I’d walk into a LARP group. Sorry about that.” You sheepishly smile. “I had no idea where the portal was going to take me. But if you would be so kind-”
“Wait, what’s LARP?” One of them speaks up. He was a dirty blond and somewhere in the middle of the group height wise. He wore a white cape like thing with blue designs on the back but you didn’t recognize the symbol.
“Live Action Role Play?” You tilt your head. “It’s why you’re all dressed like that? Right?”
“This is just our clothes.” What appears to be the youngest bounces up to you. “What are you wearing?”
“First I could grab in my closet.” You admit and look down on it. It’s one of your comfiest shirts and best looking pants. You’re a little proud of yourself for finding those in the dark.
“Weird.”
“We’re heroes. We’re all named Link.” Cape guy speaks up again. “Is it safe to assume that you’re in the same boat?”
“Heroes?” Your eyebrows furrow together. “I’m not a hero and my name’s not Link.”
You’re quick to tell them your name and you watch as the confusion covers their faces. “My brother’s name is Link though if that helps anything.”
“Oh we needed him!” The youngest groans and it instantly irks you.
“What would you need with a five year old?” You deadpan and cross your arms.
The information stuns the group.
“The portal showed up in the middle of the night and I’m the one that went through it. I’m pretty sure I was the only awake to even see it. Are you telling me that it was for my little brother?” You’d be lying if you said that you weren’t a little pissed. “My baby brother was supposed to go through it? He was asleep! He’s five. What kind of logic is that?!”
“Well...” The biggest and oldest of them runs a hand over his face. You think he has some cool tattoos and sick scar going across his eye but he looks about as angry as you feel, so you don’t say anything. “It appears the gods truly do not care for the hero’s maturity, only his existence.”
“Ok...What’s with all this hero talk?” You bite back. “What did... Where am I?”
“Hyrule.” The second with cool face tattoos speaks up. He’s got a large fur pelt around his shoulders and you have to tighten your grip against your backpack again to keep from reaching out to touch it.
Even so you feel yourself deadpan even more. “Hyrule? Like the ancient empire? The one that collapsed more than two thousand years ago? That Hyrule?”
You’re inclined to not believe them and write all of them off as crazy... but you also walked through a portal. And your grandma did say that magic existed in the strangest forms.
They all share looks of concern and some begin to murmur quietly amongst themselves but you’re too far gone to even notice.
“Did I time travel?” The idea hits you like a bus and you feel your eyes widen as you stare beyond the group. You quickly take our your phone and unlock it.
No signal.
“Is that a type of Sheikah slate?” Someone asks you.
“I don’t know what that is.” You reply automatically. “Wait, hold on, what year is it?”
“Why don’t you tell us what year you’re from and we can start from there?” The darkest brunette of the group speaks up.
“202x PC” You say robotically, not really processing the world around you anymore.
“That’s...” The blond with a long blue scarf speaks up with a slight hiss. “...Beyond any of our timelines. You see, we all come from different worlds and eras of Hyrule’s history.”
“I don’t think you’re the farthest down anymore, Wild.”
“This would then make them my successor, right?”
“It would make their brother your successor.” Someone amends. “I think they just jumped in his place.”
“Leave my brother alone.” You snap back into the present, pocketing your [hone again. “Ok, you know what, screw it. I don’t know what you’d want my brother for but I’m here now. I’d gladly take his place if it means he gets to stay home!”
“Hey.” A boy with pink hair stalks up to you looking a little more serious than you’d like.
“Nice hair dude, way to defy the gender norms.” You smirk a little before genuinely grinning, hoping to quell the tension. “What product do you use? It looks like Artic Fox but not every place sells their brand.”
“...I have no idea what you’re talking about but what happened to Ganon in your world? How have you been handling it?” He snaps and places his hands on his hips.
“Ganon? Like my old principle? That’s a name I haven’t heard in forever.” You’re confused again. “Last I heard he joined the police force only to be reassigned out of state. I don’t know what’s happening with him. Kinda hope he gets fired though. He’s not a bad guy but he’s not someone you’d want in that kind of position of power, you know.”
“Police force?”
You blinked and look them all over. They look very medieval. “Oh... You don’t have that...”
You begin to think about your history lessons and what they might be familiar with if they’re telling the truth about being from Hyrule.
“Ya’ll got knights?”
Many, almost all of them nod, a few with face of despair already on them before you finish speaking.
“It’s kind of like that. Mixed with a towns guard position... kinda. They enforce laws... at least they’re supposed to but the whole system is flawed and racist and really needs to be dismantled for the abuse of power that they have-”
“Abuse? Of power?” You have their attention again.
“It’s stupid and it won’t really make any sense if I try to explain because I doubt you have anything similar but it’s basically a group of people given the right to treat the public in anyway they like for their own benefit because they have no one telling them that they can’t.” You groan and slowly begin to feel your lack of sleep catch up to you.
You slowly reach to behind you and sit down on the dirt, looking at all of them. “Mr. Dragmire wasn’t like...Demise or anything but he was a huge jerk. No one liked him. He liked me though. I remember that. I was the envy of the whole school because I somehow got on his good side while everyone else wants to strangle him. I think he was transferred for some misdemeanor or something like that... like he might have been throwing hands with someone he wasn’t supposed to. I never heard all the details. I didn’t really care for it when it happened either. I’m pretty sure he lost that fight though. The dude looked like a blast of wind could have knocked him over let alone someone’s knuckle sandwich.”
“I would love to hear more about this.” The youngest sits next to you with a large grin on his face. His eyes are bright and his body language reminds you of your cousin Zelda. You instantly think they’d get along like a house on fire. “What are your monsters like?”
“Monsters?” You tilt your head. “Be a little more specific bud, it depends on where you’re from.”
“You have that many?!”
“It depends on if you believe they’re real or not.”
“Speaking of monsters, can you fight?” The shortest walks up to you. You like that his tunic is stitched up with multiple colors and designs. It gives it personality, you think. “Do you have a weapon you’re more comfortable with?”
The question throws you off your rhythm and you don’t fight your wince. “What would happen if I say that I do not, in fact, have any sort of weapon on me?”
“I wouldn’t believe you.” Pink guy speaks up again. “That pack is huge, there has to be something in there.”
“It’s food, water and extra clothes my guy.” You lean back against said backpack since it won’t let you lay down with it still on. “Not a lot of space for anything else. I’m pretty good at hand to hand combat though. Karate’s a good way to fight out stress.”
“Your bag’s not magic?”
“Why the hell would it be magic? ...Are you trying to tell me magic actually exists?” You raise an eyebrow as your eyes begin to close against your will. “I know my grandma said it does but I thought she meant like fairies and shadow demons.. and bigfoot. Can’t forget him, he’s the real MVP... You know...Children’s bedtime stories and stuff like that, it’s not real. But like magic magic? Magic items and the like? Find me Tinkerbell and I’ll show you Neverland, that’s what I say.”
“Are you serious?”
“Second star to the right, straight on till morning.” You respond.
There’s a moment of silence as the group in front of you processes your words. It’s hard to tell their reaction since you’re not looking at them but you no longer have the energy to do anything else.
“Are you falling asleep right now?” It’s the one they called Wild.
“I...” You try to open your eyes. They don’t budge. “I haven’t slept in nearly 20 hours... I think. I might have past 24 hours a while ago actually. Portal showed up at like four in the morning... I had to get up at six and I didn’t sleep at all before then.”
More silence.
“Great another one.” Someone scoffs.
You snort.
“Why did we pack up camp again?”
“No one kill me.” You say right before you lose consciousness. “Please and thank you.”
“They’re doomed.”
“Have some faith Vet. They stepped in for their little brother. That has to mean something?”
“They’re in for a rude awakening, and that’s all I have to say about it.”

Study Session
“Thursday at 12 sound good?” The text read
“Yeah, that works for me.” He had text back.
David took a deep breath then sighed. What had he gotten himself into? He was going on a date with a girl he met on Tinder later that day. Thankfully the date was at 6, so he had enough time to get ready before then. All he had to do now was…
“Great, you’re here! You ready to study some organic chemistry?” A painfully cheerful voice nearly shouted at him.
“Yeah, let’s get this over with.” David mumbled to himself. He didn’t even need to study for this class. Why did Steven even ask to form a study group with him? Neither of them were struggling with the materials, and David was pretty sure they both had A’s in the class. Maybe it was just because Steven wanted friends and they were both the only freshmen in their class. David wasn’t against making new friends, but Steven was just...odd. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but something about Steven didn’t sit right with him.
“Alright, I’ll go get some water and snacks. You can sit down anywhere and I’ll be right back.” Steven said. David was so lost in his own thoughts he hadn’t realized he was in Steven’s room now. Freshmen were required to live on campus, but the dorms were pretty nice for a college campus. In their particular dormitory the rooms were more like apartments. Each one had a living room with a small kitchen in the middle and two bedrooms off to the sides, each with their own bathroom and enough space for two beds.
David decided to sit down while Steven was out of the room. There were a few posters of video games and various knicknacks on the desk; a pencil sharpener, a desk lamp, a little stand-up figure, but overall the room was pretty bland given Steven’s boisterous personality.
“Alright, let’s get studying!” David heard, turning around to see Steven carrying 2 bags of chips and at least 4 water bottles. How long was he planning to study for? Steven then sat down, got out a notebook, some papers from class their professor had given them, and a few pencils.
“If you need some materials don’t hesitate to ask. I’m here if you need anything.” Steven said. It felt weird, like Steven was trying to be really personal with him. David couldn’t put his finger on the word, but that was why he was so distant around Steven. He just pulled out his notebook and a pencil and started writing.
After some minutes of studying, David heard some sort of distorted noise. He looked down and realized it was his stomach growling.
“Are you hungry? I got the chips out for a reason.” Steven said, pushing the bag towards David.
“I guess I am. I thought I had eaten enough before coming here.” David said, opening the bag of corn chips and taking a few out. For whatever reason, David was starting to feel starved.
“Maybe just eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich wasn’t enough.” David reasoned to himself as he took another handful of chips. He hadn’t noticed it, but half the bag was gone just from him alone. Steven hadn’t eaten a single chip.
“I like your shirt. It goes well with your, uh, jeans.” Steven tried making conversation, pointing towards David’s plaid button-up shirt.
“Thanks.” David simply said, grabbing another handful of chips. He had moved onto the second bag without noticing. Steven hadn’t said anything about it, just continuing to go over the content.
After about an hour of studying, David was ready to head off and prepare for his date. It was five hours away, but anything would be better than this marching through the swamp of organic chemistry. He was just looking for an excuse, for Steven to stop talking about resonance structures and ethyl substituents. Just thinking of the words made him feel ill.
However, as Steven was talking, he put his left arm around David’s back, like a cliche couple would in a movie theater. He was about to shrug it off with his arm, but he couldn’t get it to move. It was like his arm was paralyzed. David then noticed an aching sensation in his groin. He could feel his cock stiffening in his boxers, and even against the fabric of his jeans. Was he getting turned on by Steven flirting with him?
David looked over at Steven, the sensation in his pants only intensifying as he did. When had Steven looked so cute? David couldn’t take his eyes off of the boy, just listening to him ramble about some molecule they were working on. As Steven was talking, David couldn’t help but let out a moan. Steven looked surprised at first, but then a smile grew on his face. Then, Steven put his pencil down and took his hands to David’s jeans, slowly pulling them and his boxers down until David’s throbbing cock was released. It looked like it would cum just from a slight touch. “Shh, just let it happen.” Steven whispered into David’s ear. Then, he started jerking David off. David’s moans grew louder and louder, but he was trying not to cum. He had to hold on to his glasses to keep them on his face. The sane part of him knew this was wrong, that he didn’t actually like Steven like this. But as more and more doubts entered his mind, the harder it was to actually hold back.
“Just let it out. You know you want to.” Steven urged. David couldn’t take it anymore, busting his load right in Steven’s hand. Ropes of white goo burst up in the air, covering Steven’s hand, David’s legs and a bit of his jeans. He hated to admit it, but that was probably the best handjob David had gotten in his entire life. Steven got a tissue and cleaned up his hand as well as the resulting mess on David. David was just sitting back, still unable to believe that just happened.
As Steven finished cleaning up, he said, “You sound hungry. Why don’t we take a break to eat.” Steven then got up and went to the kitchen, David finding it hard not to follow. He wasn’t hungry, was he? A rumbling in David’s stomach proved that wrong, but for some reason this felt off to him. Why was he listening to Steven so intently?
The smell of parmesan and fried meat stopped David’s thoughts, realizing he was now sitting at the table near the kitchen. In front of him sat a plate of fried chicken and a separate plate of lasagna. David was hesitant to take a bite, but his growling stomach was urging him to consume.
“Don’t be shy. I made it all for you.” Steven sweetly said, pouring David a soda to drink.
David knew this was wrong. Part of his mind was screaming for him to get up and leave before this got worse. He felt so helpless and trapped, confused as to why he was doing what he was doing.
But the larger part of David’s brain wanted to eat, and that’s exactly what he did. Grabbing a huge forkful of lasagna, David stuffed himself with the cheesy, meat-filled pasta. He moaned as he swallowed the dish, immediately going back for another bite.
“This is really good!” David nearly moaned out as he took his third bite within ten seconds of the last two.
Steven smiled and sat down next to David, who took a large bite out of the fried chicken. It too was delicious, as if the meat fell right off the bone. He didn’t notice it, but as David ate pasta sauce and grease covered the edges of his mouth. The food was just too good to resist. So he kept eating.
And eating.
And eating.
And- how long had he been eating this lasagna and fried chicken? He must’ve been at least close to finishing by now. So why did the plates still look like they were full of food? Steven must’ve gotten up to get more, David reasoned to himself. But part of him knew something wasn’t right about this. He was too busy eating to question Steven though.
As David sat back to take a breather, he let out a huge burp. He had been drinking so much soda he hadn’t noticed how gassy he felt. David then felt a hand on his stomach, looking over to see Steven rubbing it.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of you, just keep eating.” He seductively cooed.
At hearing this, David looked down to see he was now sporting a gut. He could see stretches of skin peek through his button-up, the buttons near his belly struggling to hold on. David was disgusted and wanted to get up, but he felt a familiar feeling that prevented him from leaving.
“No, I can’t be hard again. This can’t be turning me on. I just came. I hate being fat. Why am I so hard?!” David’s mind was racing. He couldn’t help himself. He wanted so badly to leave or just wake up and leave this nightmare behind him. However, he just sat back and let Steven rub his now bulbous gut.
“It’s okay. You can let it out. You don’t have to worry with me around.” Steven once again cooed,
“You should eat. I don’t want you to go hungry.” He added on, and quickly after David was stuffing his face with more greasy chicken and lasagna.
David’s mind was once again fighting a losing battle. Steven’s charm and the food was just too much for David to handle, and he was further plunged into gluttony against his own will.
As David took another huge mouthful of lasagna, he heard a “ping!” sound before his belly jiggled for a few seconds. The feeling was enough to push David over the edge and he came in his pants, moaning loudly as he did so. David’s mind was so overwhelmed with pleasure he was unable to think straight.
Once his mind had cleared, David had forgotten what he was worrying about. He rubbed his gut as he looked over at the empty plates that once held lasagna and fried chicken on them.
“Thanks for the meal, Steven. You know I love to eat.” David joked as he jiggled his belly a bit. It wasn’t that he wanted to be chubby, but that was just a side effect of eating so much. That didn’t stop him, though. Food was just too good to resist.
“You’re welcome. I still have more if you want.” Steven offered.
David thought for a second before impulsively saying, “Sure, why not?” It wouldn’t mess with his diet that much. Again, not like he cared. Part of him wanted to care, but it was becoming easier and easier for David to shake that worry off. If he wanted to eat, who was he to stop himself?
Steven brought a multilayered cake to the table, as well as a box of donuts, and David was already feeling himself drool at the mere sight. A milkshake was also place in front of him, instead of the soda he had before.
“If you want more, or anything different, just tell me. I’m happy to oblige.” Steven said with a smile on his face. David loved that smile. He wished he could ask Steven out...wait, no he didn’t. He had a date with a girl sometime this week. At least David thought it was sometime this week. His mind was foggy, probably from all the studying and eating. A quick nap when he got back to his room would fix that, David assured himself.
The food in front of him would have to do for now, David reassured himself. And with that he grabbed a donut, taking a huge bite out of the treat. He quickly learned they were filled with cream, which only added to the taste and pleasure of eating them. Licking the cream off his face, David grabbed another donut immediately after finishing his first. Then, he took a slice of cake, grabbing another just to satisfy himself.
As David ate, he thought he heard a noise below him. Like a noise you would hear in an old house. Leaning back to take a break, David confirmed that he was hearing creaks below him. Looking down, David noticed a larger belly than before. It swelled out into his lap, rising and falling with each deep breath he took. David counted 2 rolls that were apart of his gut, a gut that nearly reached his knees. He noticed two more missing buttons on his shirt; evidence that he actually had grown that large. That wasn’t the only result of his growth, as David could feel cool air on parts of his thighs. Sure enough when David looked at his legs, the seams of his jeans had torn to reveal flab that was stretching the fabric tight. In fact, David wasn’t even sure his jeans were covering his rear anymore, his underwear working overtime to obscure his nudity.
At first, panic arose in David’s stomach. He didn’t want to get fatter, thinking others would be repulsed by him. For the first time at Steven’s, it seemed like David’s mind was fighting back and winning. David tried to stand up, but he didn’t realize how much energy that would take; energy he didn’t have.
David was about to try getting up again, after a few seconds of catching his breath, but suddenly a sweet smell ran through his nostrils. In front of him a donut was being held. It was on the same level as his mouth, as if it were destined to be consumed by him. Unable to resist the smell, and the taste, David opened his mouth and devoured the pastry.
“That’s good. Keep it up. Just relax and eat.” Steven said, holding another donut for David to eat. He was now losing the battle, just as he thought there was a turnabout. He felt a hand on his gut, realizing that Steven was now massaging his belly and feeding him at the same time. David didn’t want to get up now. This was too good of an opportunity to miss. And the opportunity only got better as David felt a familiar sensation below his gut.
The big guy started to moan, the taste of the food and Steven’s treatment of his stomach creating a pleasure previously unknown to him. Another donut, more moaning. Another donut, it got even louder. Steven had to move on to feeding David handfuls of cake. Icing got around his lips, lips that moaned even more frequently in pleasure. David was desperately trying to reach under his stomach to relieve himself, but he was struggling both due to his stomach and the resistance in his mind. He knew this would be submitting to something he’s not, but why was it so hard to resist then?
Another ping echoed throughout the room. David realized there was only one more button holding his shirt together. The last resistance.
“Why are you resisting something that makes you so happy? Admit it. You love to eat. You love growing fatter, and being fat.” Steven quietly pressured into David’s ear.
David was holding back from moaning and let out an exasperated, “No…”
“Aww, it’s alright. You’ll change your mind soon. It’s so much better to let go than resist. Just give in.” Steven cooed again, his hand moving lower down David’s stomach. David knew what came next. He wanted to stand up and run out of there, but he felt too heavy to even move from the chair.
David tried to say something to stop Steven, but another handful of cake stopped him. The taste clouded his train of thought, unable to resist for a few seconds. Soon after, he felt a touch on his dick, realizing it was too late to leave now. Now David let out a loud moan, his dick feeling especially sensitive to Steven’s touch.
“No...no more…” David panted out as he was jerked off.
“What was that? I didn’t hear you that well. It sounded like you said ‘more’?” Steven asked as he let David demolish another donut. David let out a moan, struggling to keep himself together.
“M...more. I...want...more…” David panted, desperate for food. His mind had all but given up now.
“That’s what I thought.” Steven whispered as he fed David another handful of cake.
Steven then held up the milkshake to David’s mouth and had him chug the creamy drink. Despite drinking from it frequently, it still felt like it was full when David was drinking it. David could feel the last button on his shirt slowly start to come undone, and sure enough he heard another ping as he finished the milkshake. Shortly after, David let loose and came from the pleasure of growing and Steven teasing his cock. Moaning louder and longer than he had all day, David covered the bottom of his belly in his sticky goo, Steven backing off to clean his hand.
Again, David couldn’t remember what had just happened a few seconds ago. All he remembered was immense pleasure, and, after seeing two empty plates, he attributed it to that.
“Thanks for the food, Steven. And thanks for helping me gain, I don’t really have anyone else this supportive of me.” David said as he jiggled his gut. It covered his thick thighs and poured off to the sides of them a bit. His moobs were the size of porn star’s pair of breasts, and they were starting to go under his thick arms. As David felt his belly, he realized his jeans had torn off, and he could barely feel his underwear on his ass. Despite all this, David didn’t seem to mind. He seemed more relaxed and laid back than ever before.
“What are you up to now?” Steven asked, still in the kitchen.
“I actually just recently got past 600 pounds.” David said proudly.
“Nice! I think that calls for some celebration.” Steven said, pulling something out of the oven.
A few seconds later, Steven placed a deluxe, meat lover’s pizza right in front of David. The pizza took up at least three quarters of the table, and if David had to actually guess it looked to be 18 inches across. There were mushrooms, pepperonis, pieces of ground beef and tons of cheese. Steven then set down a glass of beer next to David’s plate.
“We can have a bit of fun because of this, can’t we?” Steven offered, but David didn’t need much convincing.
The big guy immediately tore a slice of the pizza off, downing half of it only to quickly follow up with a chug of beer. Steven knew David loved beer. He did love beer, right? His mind was too cloudy to remember. But as he chugged more, David let out a big belch. It surprised him at first, but David went back for another swig only to let out another belch. Steven refilled David’s glass as he went back for more pizza.
Cheese and sauce got all over his mouth and chubby cheeks. Some of it also dripped down onto his stomach, and of course it got all over his hands. David decided to lick his lips and clean up his face, but he was a little confused when he felt a bit of stubble on his face. Licking his chubby fingers off, David felt his face to in fact touch stubble on his chins, cheeks and upper lip. It was like he was growing a goatee, but David was confused as to how that happened. He was usually clean shaven, so this wasn’t there this morning. As David went to get the cheese that dripped onto his gut, he noticed that was hairier too. It was just some fuzz, but there was definitely hair growing on his chest and belly, it being more and more prevalent as he approached his crotch.
David was confused, but a slice of pizza being shoved into his mouth snapped him out of his haze. He happily ate the pizza Steven had fed him, as well as the beer Steve had him chug. David felt lucky to have such a cute friend who was willing to find him. He just wished he had the confidence to ask him out. Unfortunately, as he thought that, David let out a massive fart from his rear.
“S-sorry.” He stuttered as he went back to devouring slices of pizza.
“Don’t be. You probably liked it anyways.” Steven chuckled, getting up to refill David’s beer again.
As he thought about what Steven had said, David started to realize that Steven was right. David let out a belch, and he got immense pleasure from it. Exploding from his rear gave the same effect. Feeling his body jiggle from the vibrations, the power he felt from it and just the overall feeling made David very happy. That was one of the reasons he loved beer. It always made him gassy, and he was glad Steven didn’t seem to mind.
Going back to reach for more pizza, and more beer to drink, David continued to eat. He didn’t bother to think about how the entire pizza should’ve been gone by now, just wanting to consume the cheesy goodness. David didn’t hear the creaking emanating beneath him, too busy devouring everything placed in front of him. As he went to scoop up some cheese that fell onto his chest, the chair finally snapped and sent David to the ground. His body jiggled for nearly a minute after the shock, David letting out a huge fart to continue the sensational feeling. All the wriggling had turned David on and he could feel his dick start to grow hard just from the feeling of his body moving so.
Looking down at his body to get the cheese and sauce that fell there, David realized he had grown bigger. His stomach was pooling onto the ground, off of the sides of his thighs. And his thighs felt pretty wide, being twice as wide as a thin person’s waist. He couldn’t feel his underwear anymore, and he assumed it snapped off while he was eating. His tits felt like they were drooping off to the sides as well, and when David grabbed them he felt that his nipples were a lot more sensitive than before. If he wasn’t hard before, he definitely was now.
That wasn’t the only change, as David saw that his stomach was now covered in hairy fur. It was particularly noticeable in between his moobs, around his deepened belly button and towards the bottom of his belly, near his dick. David knew he was never this hairy, but for some reason it felt right, like it was normal. Feeling his face, David discovered that what had just been stubble before was now a full on goatee. It covered his other, fatty chins too, resulting in most of the goatee emphasizing the beard, but David was more worried about why it was there than how it looked. As David further felt his face, he realized there were bits of sauce and cheese stuck in his goatee. Instinctually, he licked around his lips to eat them, the foreign texture of his face sending surprising chills of pleasure down his spine.
“Steven! I need help!” David said, struggling to stand up. He hadn’t realized how fat he had gotten.
“What is- Oh! That was what that noise was. Congratulations on getting big enough to break something under your fat ass!” Steven cheerily said, as if David wasn’t a complete mess.
“S-Steven…” David panted, “I think I got too big. I have to be at least 800 pounds right now, and I don’t know how I got so b-big so fast. Plus, I’m all h-hairy!” Whenever he tried to get up by himself, David had to catch his breath. Steven kneeled down next to the fatty and started to rub his hairier belly. David let out a fart and started to realize what was happening, but he was too big to do anything about it.
“Don’t worry. This is what you really want. Just relax and I’ll take care of it.” Steven hypnotically said, bringing himself closer and closer to David. David knew what was going on, but it was too late now. He was never this fat, nor hairy, nor gassy. He never wanted this...or did he? His mind was in conflict. He couldn’t remember himself as anything other than a fat, hairy slob, so why was his mind fighting that reality?
“Shh, just let me take care of it and we’ll be alright.” Steven whispered as he kissed David on the lips, pushing his tongue inside the slob’s mouth. David was surprised at first, but he couldn’t help himself but to reciprocate. Feeling his tongue in Steven’s mouth set something off in him, and he no longer wanted to resist. He was Steven’s big fatty, and Steven was his feeder. They loved each other, and took care of each other. As they kissed, David came under his belly, now submitting to this reality.
As they separated, David let out a deep, long belch. Both chuckled, Steven going back to rub David’s hairy belly afterwards.
“Glad I wasn’t in your mouth for that one.” Steven joked, but David just took pride in his gassiness. They both loved it, so why should he be so ashamed?
“Can you help me up now? I-I really can’t do much on the ground here.” David joked, struggling to push himself off the ground again. Steven just giggled and helped David off the ground, grabbing him by his love handles and slowly heaving the blob up.
“I wanna do one last thing.” Steven said, winking and slowly helping David waddle to his bedroom. David was already getting excited again. He didn’t think about how he was already getting hard again, or how he had already came so many times today. He just wanted to get in bed with Steven.
However, the short walk from the kitchen to Steven’s bed had tired him out, David’s body now covered in sweat from the exertion of so much force and energy. As he sat down on Steven’s bed, the frame letting out a screeching creak in protest, he rubbed his gut to feel the sweat hair move around from his hand. The feeling didn’t feel new, and it turned him on since reminded him of how much of a slob he was.
“Alright, you know what to do.” Steven said, and as if by second-nature, David leaned on his stomach, sticking his fat ass out as he laid there. Steven smiled, stripping himself before getting behind David.
“Time to have you finally submit to being my fat piggy.” Steven said before plunging himself into David’s rear. David let out a loud moan, new images flashing through his mind. He imagined himself as a skinny guy, but it quickly faded from his memory. He saw images of himself making out with girls, and dressing up for dates with them. Those too, faded. They were replaced by images of David, butt naked, plunging his face into a wedding cake. Of going out to fast food restaurants and clearing the places out. Of getting drunk, growing fatter, and pigging out at parties in high school.
“Admit it!” Steven shouted, which snapped David out of his trance. “Admit that you’re my fat pig!” Steven shouted again.
Moaning from all that was racing through his mind, David nearly fell into the pool of sweat beneath him.
“I’m…” David moaned out, trying to focus within all the pleasure, “I’m…a fat...piggy…” Letting out another, gargantuan moan, David came for the fifth time that day before collapsing on the bed. Steven got off the bed and went back out to the kitchen.
“I’m...yours...” David admitted before letting out a huge fart, then a belch. He was Steven’s fat piggy, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
But something still bothered him. Wasn’t he supposed to do something with Steven? Another belch removed that thought from his head, David passing out from exhaustion until his next meal.

Scarlet Blaze Liveblog: Chapter 6
So I was actually gonna make myself a PB&J sandwich before this and both the peanut butter and the jelly were hella expired. Feels like an omen.
As per usual spoilers are under the cut. And in Tumblr woes, turns out my tag bundles plugin for Xkit doesn't work for the beta post editor anymore, which means I had to just remember the tags I use for this thing. Super lame. I swear it was working last time, but they've definitely updated the post editor since then so I guess that messed it up again.
Explore Stuff
I know I said I was going to try and remain positive but like… Weird call to have Petra be like… protective… of the guy who murdered her dad… That was certainly… a choice
Ashe is literally here because Dimitri told him to prioritize his life over his loyalty JFC Dimitri you are too sweet for this world. Also Ashe is angsty because he doesn’t know what he’s fighting for now. Interesting
Dorothea… we “helped Ashe see the error of his ways”?????
I’m really starting to dislike her. I actually really didn’t mind her in Houses but between her endless bellyaching as a recruit and this line, and I’m starting to dislike her
Wait, Manuela was in charge of the deer at some point in this timeline???
This makes her “I must protect my precious students uwu” bullshit from AG even more bullshit. You had! Classes! Other than the Eagles! What about THOSE students!
More Insurrection stuff. I guess we now have confirmation that the insurrection happened as a direct result of Ionius wiping out Hrym
“Sorry, did you just threaten to make an effort?” lmaooooooo RIP to Lin
“Psst! You may be aware of this already, but the Bert can be cruel”
*looks back at all my interactions with Hubert*
Don’t know what gave you that impression, Hapi
“Count Glucester prizes his people above all, and we created a situation where he wanted to fight.” I mean. Yeah. We’re like. Trying to conquer his homeland. People uh, people don’t tend to like that very much… Doesn’t usually lead to a lot of great outcomes for the people you conquer.
Apparently I just randomly learned how to make Peach Sorbet??? Not sure what triggered that, but ok
My god my switch HATES this game it’s running like a freaking airplane
I find it hilarious that Edelgard is apparently bad at running a street stall but Hubert is okay at it lmao
I guess threatening murder would encourage people to buy more
I’m about to go grab an ice pack from the fridge and hold it on the back of this thing. This is ridiculous. I JUST cleaned the fans, it can't be the dust! I literally played like 40 straight hours of FOMT and it was fine!
Ferdie Expedition. Let’s go for a lovely mountain date.
Don’t get to stare at his face :(
Weird how much of an Empire fanboy he’s become in this timeline, considering he’s like… yo fuck the Empire in canon
Oh my god you can “restore” weapons you’ve fully forged and it literally just… takes away all your upgrades for no benefit???? WHY???? Luckily I saved the game before it stole my TWENTY FUCKING AREADBHAR FORGES JFC
Like ok my best guess is that it’s so you can reset after you upgrade the forge, since I believe after a few upgrades then forging your weapons will give you more durability and might per forge, but it’s not retroactive? But like? This is just mechanically stupid. Honestly. Just make it retroactive or don’t vary the amount you gain for forging??? What a fucking slap in the face to fully forge a weapon (which takes dozens if not HUNDREDS of rare resources) only to be told “lol go fuck yourself actually redo it”
YOU DON’T EVEN GET THE UMBRAL STEEL YOU WASTED ON FORGING BACK!
Support Conversations
Hubert/Linhardt C - Wait Lin and Hubert are talking about how interesting Shez’s powers are??? Didn’t Lin have like? An entire fucking support where he was like “your powers are not interesting to me”???
“My method of ‘hooking’ would complicate our relationship with so valued an ally” Hubert is a murderer lol
“Why don’t you try sweet talking with tea instead” pretty sure that’s Ferdie’s MO
Why. Why does this feel like Edelshade. “The only option left is aggressive persuasion, driven home at the point of an axe, let’s say” … hmmm who is the ONLY eagle to canonically have a preference for axes…
Hubert is even like “who are you talking about how dare you” and Lin is like “haha oh no one does this bug you? I bet it bugs you.”
AND THAT’S THEIR ONLY SUPPORT LMFAO
Linhardt/Ferdie C - Lin: “I’m not drawing I’m just drawing” o…kay?
Linhardt can draw apparently
Lin: It’s important to be accurate when doing research, not artistic. Ferdie: *confused Ferdie noises*
Why do I get the sense that Lin is sick of the BE’s shit
I find it weird that he only has C supports with both Hubert AND Ferdie?
Dorothea/Monica C - Anyone else get the vibe that someone on the dev team realized Dorothea’s JP VA could sing so they crammed a bunch of random singing in? I do. I get that vibe
Why is the nobility fighting over tickets to see an opera. Seems like the kind of thing nobility should be able to get into super easy while the pleb masses fight for tickets in the nosebleeds
“A lot happened and now I’m here” wait Dorothea has motivation to be here aside from just “went to school with Edelgard for a month”??? Are we ever gonna???? Talk about what that is, or???
Shez/Bernadetta B - Oh my eardrums are already broken it’s only the first textbox
Anna is a drug dealer lmao
Shez/Ferdie B - Ferdie is horrifically depressed, got it. That explains a lot
Side note, I find it very interesting that Ashe doesn’t have supports with ANY of the BE, despite being recruitable. Lorenz at least had supports with Annette, Raphael had supports with Ashe and Felix, Ignatz could talk to Sylvain and Annette, and Marianne could talk to Ingrid. Bernie gets to talk to Dimitri, Petra gets to talk to Dedue, and Dorothea gets to talk to Flayn as well. Only Lin can’t talk to any of the BL exclusive characters.
Side-side note, but I kind of want to count which student has the fewest support conversations. Linhardt strikes me as having not that many compared to the BL or the other BE. Four of his support lines only have one conversation, and two of those terminate at C support.
Side Battles
I’m pretty sure the explore points are exactly the same as AG. Lame
Dorothea: “It fills my heart to see my friends do such great things” you mean. Murder. Like. The murder we’re doing right now? Alright…
Oh Leonie is here I guess
MOMMY JUDITH!!!
So I know now that Judith is not playable, which is bullshit. Clearly she’s got a fully rigged and animated model if she can appear like an enemy like this. How hard was it to just make her playable???
Main Chapter Battle
I’m rewarding myself with popcorn after this, to make up for the PB&J disappointment
“The fewer casualties the better” know what results in the least casualties? Not… not starting a war. That really keeps the war casualties down
“When in doubt, take ‘em out!” oh Caspar, you lovable himbo
Oh look Balthus, Ignatz, and Lorenz are our recruits this time
Balthus is still dead to me for not having a support convo with Dimitri. The gay subtext was right there, ripe for the taking… At least he had a line fantasizing about a sweaty grapple between Holst and Dimitri that one time
Oh my god how many hints are you going to give me to go do that side mission
AND IT DIDN’T EVEN MATTER BECAUSE I DIDN’T DO IT FAST ENOUGH ASDFGHJKL
Ignatz: I will fight you until the end!!!
Yeah about that… *Yoink*
So what does the auto battle button do
I mean I’m not going to test it but does that mean I wouldn’t have to play this game anymore?
That sounded really pessimistic. But ok look, I’m not using the merc whistles even though this is NG+ because a horrible little gremlin part of me wants to S rank all the battles ever. This game has way too many side missions.
Petra: Stealing is evil!!!
Also Petra: Canonically prefers the thief class in this game
Someone on this team wasn’t thinking when they wrote that one, huh lmao
Edelgard: Count Gloucester was on our side once! He might surrender!
Did you??? Did you miss the WHOLE part of this chapter where that was a trick to catch you off guard??? Why the fuck would he surrender now??? When he intentionally tricked you before by pretending to side with you just to fuck you over???
I mean he’s going to because of course he is, but if anyone in the deer had an actual spine or coherent adherence to past plot events or motivation, then he definitely wouldn’t!
Yep I was right. Why do none of the deer have a spine lol it’s actually getting kind of comical
After Battle Stuff
What is with this Daddy Gloucester whitewashing. That guy was one heck of a bastard in the original Houses, but between this and Lorenz’s paralogue they’re just like “look at how awesome and wonderful and totally not responsible for anything bad ever he is” <3 and I am not here for it
I guess they took all of his evil and gave it to Rufus
Oh I got Thrysus. I didn’t get Thrysus in AG. Bullshiiiiiiiiiiit
Guessing it’s because Lorenz is the head of his house now in this route. But still.
Apparently Lorenz and Lorenz Daddy are just too valuable to replace and Shez has dialogue options about that for some reason
RETORT SARCASTICALLY!!! GET EM SHEZ
Hubert liked that lmao
“Oh right. I forgot that only mercs are replaceable” FUCKING GET ‘EM SHEZ
Wow Edelgard is real pissy about that
“That’s just the way of things in Fodlan! but I intend to change this” Ah, yes, you’re doing a great job of changing that by… doing nothing about it right now and treating mercs as replaceable. Truly a 4D chess strategy Edelgard
I’m 100% convinced that the Alliance has only held together this long because they faced absolutely 0 threat from anything ever. Like honestly we’ve been at war for fifteen seconds and the entire power structure of this place has completely fallen apart
I mean really it’s actually pathetic. They’re like those fainting goats
https://youtu.be/_JF0Jys5ITc?t=10
^The Alliance literally the second any external threat that isn’t Almyra occurs^
Seriously, how long have these guys been a country? Like 300 years right? You’re telling me they’re literally older than America and in that time they have developed exactly zero sense of national pride or ownership for their lands, and most of them are just completely cool going along with whatever the Empire does to them? Just like? “Yeah, conquer me daddy~ My lands are fertile and my people are (variably) willing participants ;)”
I’m just saying this is like the dead fish equivalent of international relations. Just lie back and let Adrestia do whatever they want to you, I guess
EVEN THE DEER WHO ARE LEFT ARE LIKE “yeah we’re here but if this goes bad we’re out lol”
Except Hilda. Hilda is cool
EVEN ORDELIA??? “Yeah, the Empire experimented on my children and basically condemned my only surviving daughter to die, but like we’d be cool siding with them I guess” like excuse me what???
Like I know everyone has a spine made out of jelly in 3H but at least there everyone had a jelly spine so it didn’t stick out so much
It’s a weird contrast from the BL who are (almost) all like “YOU CAN HAVE MY HOME OVER MY COLD DEAD FUCKING BODY!”
AKA the normal human response when you’ve been an independent nation for several centuries and an external power comes in and says “mine ;)”
And the only two Lions to defect are the two who have zero responsibility over people or land, and one of which apparently only surrendered because Dimitri told him not to die for him. The other one is Mercedes who I haven’t gotten yet but presumably it’s about her serial killer brother this time. Oh and neither of them have any family in the Kingdom to protect (since Jeritza is in the Empire and Lonato defected to the Empire like the little traitor bitch he is)
Ok this liveblog got real shady for a second, I’m putting the umbrellas down now
Wait Byleth is here too??? I thought Byleth was in the Kingdom????????????????? How did you get here?????
“Remaining in the Kingdom was no longer an option???” Why???
OH WE JUST AREN’T GOING TO BE EXPLAINING THAT ONE I GUESS
I’m guessing it has something to do with Jeralt’s unexplained and unaddressed Rhea issues. Not sure why that would be though, considering Rhea NEVER FUCKING DOES ANYTHING IN THIS GAME
Fortalices and palisades… gonna have to google that one later, Hubert
Ok so it’s a baby fort and a fence. Dunno why we had to get all fancy here
I’m sure there’s already at least one Medieval history buff in my inbox going WELL ACKSHUALLY about that last bullet lmao
I also didn’t make popcorn because it’s like 4 am and I’m too lazy to melt butter :(

Head Over Feet (1/14)

Fifteen years later, a retirement party brings them back together into each other's orbit, with surprising, for both of them, consequences. Are they able to fit each other into their already complicated and messy lives? And are these newfound feelings real? Or just echoes of a past relationship?
Canon Divergent after Season 5.

A/N: Yes, I know I have a bunch of other WIPs - and I am still working on all of them! But I’ve been so excited about this one, I just want to get it out there...
Thanks to @snarkyhag for the beta. :)

Chapter 1: Loser Like Me (Part One)
Fall 2028
Blaine is dreaming.  It’s all fuzzy, but there are hands… familiar hands that are on him clasping his own, cupping his face, trailing down, down, down to where it feels good.  He begins to feel the warmth spread throughout his body.  He feels good, so good… Lips are against his, rough and hungry, he is enveloped in want, in need… He lets out a groan, letting the pleasure overtake him.  He reaches out, desperate for more, but as he does so, that good feeling starts to float away.  He makes a grasp for it, but it’s no longer there, and he is left cold and wanting more.
And then his alarm goes off.
Blaine wakes up hard as a rock.  He can’t remember the last time he had a dream about sex.  Maybe when he had been a teenager? Or possibly college?  But he doesn’t remember any of those dreams ending him with his dick actually aching to fuck something.
He stares at the ceiling for a good long moment, thinking the urgency will eventually wear off.  He turns his head, slightly, to see the outline of his husband on the other side of the bed.  He doesn’t bother to wake Sean -- not that morning sex had ever been a part of their marriage.  They’re on opposite schedules; the show Sean is doing the costumes for is in the middle of its workshop, and if it gets picked up by a good producer, it could mean big things.  And Sean is cranky in the morning, anyway.
Blaine can just as easily take care of himself.
He gets up, slowly.  The erection still hasn’t died down, and Blaine begins to wonder if this is even normal for someone his age.  Maybe he should call a doctor.  He laughs to himself.  Or maybe he should jack off and not worry about it.
He moves off the bed, having to go around it to get to the bathroom.  In the process, he has to step over a huge pile of Sean’s clothes.  Blaine takes a moment to pick them up, and throw them into the laundry basket.  Two seconds, it takes.  Is that really so hard?
The clothes also smell like booze and cigarettes, which means Sean has been staying out late with the company again.  It’s fine, they used to both go all the time to the afterparties and the clubs, but some time after Blaine hit thirty, he didn’t find them as enticing any more.  Something about feeling almost twice as old as everyone around him killed the spirit.
Blaine gets into the bathroom, turning on the light, and easily stripping out of the boxers that he wears to bed.  His dick is still throbbing to be touched, so he gives himself a few hardy strokes before turning on the water for a shower.  It’s weird, he thinks, as he gets in.  Sex used to be the a staple of his marriage but, as the years passed, he and Sean manage once a week if they’re lucky.  He hasn’t really missed it, or maybe he hasn’t noticed he missed it.  Because getting off with just his hand doesn’t normally feel so good.
He indulges a little, thinking about that dream, and those hands on him.  Letting someone else take over, take control, take him apart.  He thinks, at first, of Sean, pulling from the catalogue of their sex life.  Sean being the one to hold him, and stroke him, and suck him down.  But as much as he tries to concentrate on his husband, the scene keeps pulling away, and there’s someone else there -- a faceless man with deft hands who knows exactly how Blaine likes to be touched.
He speeds up his hand, and yet somehow it doesn’t feel like enough.  He braces himself against the tile of the bathroom wall, fucking furiously into his hand until his hips take on a life of their own.   Eventually he comes, jolting hard into his hand.  The orgasm tears through him, and he lets out a near scream that he hopes doesn’t wake Sean.
It takes a moment to come down, and he leans against the tiles, enjoying the blissed out feeling as the hot water sprays over him.  He’s not sure what had brought all that on but he does feel more relaxed.  He’s been too pent up lately.  Maybe he does need to start seeing his therapist again…
***
On Wednesdays, Blaine only teaches one class and he is back home by noon in time, usually, to make himself lunch before heading out to do afternoon errands (or stay in and grade papers).  Before the workshop started, he and Sean would usually make Wednesday nights their together time.  But those have faded away over the past year or so.  Blaine has gotten used to spending the evenings alone, to the point that when Blaine arrives back at the apartment that afternoon, he’s startled to see Sean there making himself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Sean stands against the counter, chewing the sandwich slowly as he watches Blaine put his bag and coat on one of the kitchen table chairs.   “You okay?” Sean asks, taking another bite.  A bit of crust lands in his red beard, and he brushes it off and onto the floor.  Blaine shakes his head, now he understands why the floor is always so filthy.  “You’re looking at me as if I’m a stranger in the house.”
“No, it’s fine,” Blaine says.  Maybe it’s not.  It feels, weirdly, like an intrusion on his private time, but the thought is laughable.  His husband is home -- he should be happy.  Blaine begins to rifle through the fridge, pulling out a container of tuna fish to have for lunch.  They could eat together, at the table, like civilized people.  “What happened with the workshop?”
“Remember me telling you about Ashleigh and Karyn and their obsessive ambition to be the first to win a Tony? Or whatever the fuck they’re actually looking for.”
“Yes.” No? Maybe? He can’t keep all of the cast members of Sean’s show straight.  But Blaine doesn’t really feel like listening to a who’s who tangent.  He finishes making the sandwich as Sean explains further.
“Well, I don’t know how it started, but I know how it ended -- with the both of them in the hospital,” Sean says.  “So with both the lead and the understudy out, the workshop is on hold for a little while.”
“Wait, who was the lead again?” Blaine asks.  Sandwich made, he grabs some chips from the pantry and a bottle of water and heads to the kitchen table.  Sean follows him, leaving his now empty plate on the counter, before taking his usual seat across from Blaine.
“Karyn,” Sean says, stealing some chips from Blaine’s bag.  “The blonde.”
“Right.”
“So, I guess you have me home for a while.”
Blaine plasters an immediate smile to his face.  He’s not entirely sure how to feel, though.  “Are you still getting paid?”
“Yeah,” Sean grabs more chips.  “Marv’s gotta girl lined up in case it takes longer.  Shouldn’t be more than a week.”
“Ah.”
Sean taps his fingers on the table.  Blaine sips from his water bottle.  There’s a siren outside somewhere, and the upstairs neighbor’s dog sprints back and forth, causing the ceiling to creek.
“I paid the water bill,” Sean says after a long moment.
“Great,” Blaine says.  “I still say we should get reimbursed for the neighbors tapping into our pipes.”
“I’ll talk to Greg about it.”
“Great.”
Blaine eats his sandwich in a strange sort of silence as Sean watches him.  He feels like they should talk about something.  What do they usually talk about these days? Work? The apartment? The new musical mini-series Netflix put out?  Sean doesn’t ask how Blaine’s class went.  Blaine doesn’t offer to talk about it.  Nothing really feels like a good conversation.
Which is why Blaine decides to mention it… “So, I had the weirdest dream last night.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, it was some kind of sex dream,” Blaine says, licking the tuna from his fingers.  “I woke up hard as fuck.”
Sean gives a smirk.  “I can’t tell if this is your way of telling me you want to fool around tonight, or if you’re concerned and want to see a doctor.”
Blaine laughs into his water.  “I decided I’m too young still to have dick problems, and jacked off in the shower.”
Sean’s eyes go wide with amusement.  “Shame I missed that show.  If you’re still feeling it, we can mess around after lunch if you want.”
Blaine gives an unenthused shrug.  “I’ve got some errands to run.  Then I’m having dinner with Santana tonight, but if you want to catch the late show, it can be arranged.”
“We’ll see,” Sean says.  “I told some of the guys I’d meet them out for drinks tonight.  There’s a new bar opening over in SoHo.”
A flash of irritation runs through Blaine.  It’s not the turning down of sex that bothers him.  He really doesn’t want to spend his evening at a bar in SoHo.  He really doesn’t want to spend the evening with Sean’s questionable friends ‘Way-Too-Flirty’ Don and ‘Drinks-Too-Much’ Steve.  He doesn’t even really want to go out, especially when he has to teach an early morning class.  But he’s not there to tell Sean what to do.
He finishes off the sandwich without a word.  It’s not like Sean feels differently about Santana.
“You know, speaking of Santana, that reminds me,” Sean says, getting up from his seat.  He goes over to the counter and brings back a red envelope.  “This came for you today -- from McKinley High.”
Blaine takes it with interest.  He gets mailers from Dalton Academy all the time -- even if he didn’t graduate from there, he had still technically been an alumni.  But something from McKinley?  That just seems weird.  It isn’t the right time for there to be a reunion.  He has no idea what it could possibly be.
He opens it up to find a black and gold invitation. “Oh,” he says a little fondly as he reads it.  “My old glee club teacher is retiring.  He’s inviting everyone back for homecoming weekend to celebrate.  Cute.”
Sean grabs at the paper after Blaine lets it drop back to the table.  “Do you want me to come with you?” he offers quietly.
“Would you want to go?” It’s not often that Sean comes with him on the rare occasions he heads back to Ohio.
Sean hesitates before he speaks, and snacks on another couple of chips before replying.  “I probably should stay to make sure Marv has a handle on this whole Ashleigh-Karyn thing.  That is, unless you’d like me to go.”
Blaine stares hard at the paper.  It’s not like he couldn’t go.  He doesn’t have to teach on Fridays, and the school is having a holiday weekend that same weekend.  In theory, he could and it wouldn’t be a problem.  “I don’t even know if I should.”
“Maybe go to see your parents, Blaine,” Sean says.  “It’s got to be at least a few years since you’ve seen them.”
“I saw them last year at…” Blaine considers.  Has time really flown by so quickly? “Huh, I guess it has been at least two since that Christmas we spent in Ohio.” He sits back in his chair to think about it.
“Hey, Blaine…” There’s suddenly a heaviness in the air.  There’s something behind Sean’s eyes that hadn’t been there earlier.  Something that Blaine catches glimpses of every once in a while.  Something that they’ve been avoiding and, for a moment, Blaine fears that Sean is actually going to bring it up.  The room gets darker, just a cloud passing by the sun, but everything is still -- too still, and Blaine’s heart begins to race.  The moment passes, though, and whatever Sean had been about to say changes.  “I guess talk to Santana about it, and see what she says.”
Blaine stares down at the paper again.  Suddenly, a weekend away from the apartment, away from the city, away from Sean doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.  “Yeah, I’ll do that.”
***
The fall wind is sharp in its crispness, but it’s still a nice enough evening to go for a run in Central Park.  Three days a week, he and Santana Lopez go out for a jog then grab dinner at a nearby taco truck so they can sit and gossip.  Santana, who’s office isn’t far from where they meet, is already waiting for Blaine when he arrives.  She is stretching her legs, bent over in a V, wearing her usual black spandex pants with a bright, blue bomber jacket that billows slightly.  Her designer sunglasses rest on the top of her head.
Because he has been thinking about high school all day, he can’t help but think that she hasn’t changed much.  Her face has hardened a little with age, but Blaine knows her beauty care routine is much more extensive than his, and he knows how much she spends on wigs and dye jobs.  Today, though, her long, black hair is pulled back tightly in a high pony, amusingly reminiscent of how she wore it in high school.
“Okay, so I have some hot goss for you today,” she says, immediately after they exchange pleasantries.  She waits for him to do his own stretching, but continues to launch into her news.  “So, you remember how I’ve been endlessly talking about the cute redhead on the floor below?”
“The one who works as a secretary for the greasy lawyer?” Blaine pulls his leg back.  The stretching feels nice, he is glad he is able to get out of the stuffy apartment in some capacity tonight, even if he can tell Santana is a bit more ramped up than usual.
Santana nods.  “So for weeks now, it’s been flirty glances, and unbuttoning buttons to show off some pretty pricey brassieres, but you know, nothing direct.  Well, today she comes up to my floor, claiming the bathroom is not working in their offices -- and I checked, she was totally lying -- and she’s wearing this tight, and I mean tight, nearly see-through button-down.  With no bra.  She had on no bra.  I could see her fucking nipples, Blaine.”
“The nerve,” Blaine teases.  They begin to walk down their usual path.  They have a good quarter of a mile before they usually start jogging, though they might go the first half of their two miles at a walking pace just so Santana could release her pent up energy verbally.
“Who doesn’t wear a bra in a professional setting?” Santana continues.  Blaine arches an eyebrow at her.  “Okay, so I have totally done it, but I promise you it was warranted.  Anyway, I think she’s trying to kill me.  I took all of my restraint not to pull her directly into the janitor’s closet and make out with her.  And play with her tits.  I can’t unsee her fucking hot tits, Blaine.” Santana grumbles, putting a fist to her head, as if it’ll magically erase the image.
“You know, you could ask for her number,” Blaine suggests, for maybe the third time since Santana has started talking about the woman.  “Or, you know, find out her name.”
Santana looks at him sharply.  He knows, she just wants a minute to bitch and revel in her janitor closet fantasies, but it’s not in him not to offer suggestions.  “Her name is Liz.  I at least found that out today.”
“Well, that’s a start,” Blaine offers.
“Alright, what’s up with you?” she asks abruptly.  “Usually, you’re talking my head off about school, and I’m always having to catch up to you.  You’re trailing me by nearly a foot.  Something’s going on.”
Santana’s senses are rarely off, he shouldn’t be as surprised as he is by it.  He tries to quicken his pace but she is right, he is been in his head all day.  “I’m thinking of going back to therapy.”  He says it simply, laying it out as if it’s another fact, and not something that’s been weighing on his mind.
She gives him a concerned look.  “Is this a ‘just you’ thing? Or a ‘you and Sean’ thing?”
“A ‘just me’ thing,” he admits.  They are nearly at the lamp post where they usually start to jog, but he’s not feeling as up to it as he had been when he arrived at the park.  “Sean’s staying home for a few days, and I’ve been restless lately…” he doesn’t quite say the things he’s thinking.  “And, I don’t know, I had a weird sex dream this morning.  I’ve been off all day.”
“Well, what does Sean think?”
“He offered to fuck, but I told him I had it taken care of.”
“What, no, not about the sex dream,” Santana stops in her tracks.  They have to wait a moment for an older woman walking a doberman to pass in-between them.  “What does your husband think about you going to therapy?”
“It didn’t come up.”
“God, Blaine,” Santana says, exasperated.  “Well, if you really would rather spend your evening with me than reconnecting with your husband who is, as you well know, built like a fucking viking, then maybe therapy is what you need.”
It’s more complicated than that.  She knows some of it, but maybe not all of it, and it’s more than Blaine would really like to get into on their fairly public walk through Central Park.  But Santana has also grown to be one of his closest friends and, if nothing else, he can confide in her.
“I’m going to set up an appointment,” he tries to play it off as just another thing.  She knows better, and gives him one of her infamous staredowns.  “And if it’s something I think I need to continue to do, I’ll keep you informed,” he tries to assure her.
“You better, Anderson.” Her voice is sharp.  “I may have a cold, dead heart, but I want you to be happy.  And you know I’m always going to be blatantly honest with you, so I say this with all the love I can muster, but I don’t think you are.”
“I know, I know…” He’s not not happy.  He loves his job.  He loves his little apartment.  He loves being in one of the greatest cities in all of the world.  He and Sean are…  “So, hey, did you get your invitation to Mr. Schue’s retirement party?”  He begins to walk again.  He knows he’s avoiding the conversation, so does Santana.  But she rolls with it.
“He’s retiring?  Dear god, he’s barely over fifty.”
Blaine lets out a little laugh.  “Well, that’s what the invitation said.”
“And, fuck, no, I haven’t gotten one,” Santana says.  “Though, it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve checked the mail.  Who sends invitations through the mail these days?  Just start a text chain like a normal person.”
“Would you go?” He asks.  He’s been back and forth on the idea all day.  Does he really want or need to see anyone from high school again?  Possibly?  Would it be nice to get away for a weekend? Most definitely.  Can he really afford to skip town for a little while? That is the big unanswered question.
Santana bites her lip, thinking it over.  “I mean it really depends on who else got these magical invitations.  Oh, god, will Rachel Berry be there? Please tell me Rachel Berry will be there.  Because I have got to see how little Miss TV-Princess does in a place that does not revolve around her ego.”
Blaine has never had the issues with Rachel that Santana had, but he does remember college.  He does remember Funny Girl.  “Sorry, Santana, I don’t actually have an answer for you on that one.”
Santana throws her hands in the air.  “You keep in touch with everyone, right?  Well, isn’t she part of everyone?”
“I think she’s become a little out of my status level,” Blaine replies, with a smirk.  “Besides, I don’t keep in touch with everyone .”  Truth be told, Santana might be the only person he talks to from high school.  At least on a regular basis.  For all the promises made during the time of staying BFFs forever, real life managed to get in the way of the magical thinking.
“Alright, let’s work it out, right now, cause this will be the determining factor,” she says.  She pulls at a leaf from one of the trees above her, causing the branch to bounce.  It nearly whacks him in the head, which causes her to giggle a little and shake her head.  “Let’s see… Rachel Berry, possibly.  Said ego might drive her back to the place where it all began.”
“Sam Evans will probably be there,” Blaine says.  “He does still live in the area.” He and Sam don’t have a lot of contact, but occasionally they’ll do a long distance Fantasy Football thing or chat about a new video game they both own.  He hopes Sam will go - he could use more of that laid back charm in his life.
“Artie clearly won’t be,” Santana continues.  “I know, because I’m the one who put him on the European press tour for his new film.”
“I doubt Tina will be there either,” Blaine adds.  “She just had her third baby, and she and Ron probably don’t want to make the trip from Boston to Lima with three young children.”
He thinks of Tina’s Instagram, the only way he really communicates with her, and the constant updates for her hectic life.  She’s happy and looking good, and way too busy to drop everything and run back to Ohio.  Blaine makes a note to give her a call at some point to congratulate her formally on the new baby, even if he had already left a cute note on the Instagram pictures.
Santana is too caught up in her thought process to say more about Tina.  “Finn won’t be there for obvious reasons.  What the fuck happened to Puck? I doubt he has an address to even send anything to.  Quinn’s too prideful to drag her divorced ass out of Connecticut.  You know she’s already taken a new lover ?  She’s in her mid-thirties, and still hitting up the sugardaddies.  I mean, have some goddamn respect for yourself.”
“Well, Mike’s in Chicago,” Blaine offers.  Mike had been part of the Chicago Ballet for a long time, and had since become a dance instructor.  Blaine had been at Mike’s wedding to his wife, Marie, a couple of years ago, and he’s another one whom Blaine wouldn’t mind seeing again.  Maybe he, Mike, and Sam could have a nice guys’ night out that weekend.  He’ll have to get in touch.
Santana nods.  They walk by a woman sitting on a bench with two screaming children.  Blaine feels bad for the woman, but he and Santana share a look -- both of them glad that they don’t have to deal with that kind of hot mess at home.
“Then there’s Mercedes,” Santana says, looking up and out into the world.  “Goddess among women.  We do not have the privilege to be in her presence.”  Santana laughs at her own comments.  “Seriously, though, I love my girl, but I don’t judge her for continuing to live her best life.”
“What about Brittany?” Blaine asks, tentatively.  He has no idea if this is a sore subject for her or not because he doesn’t think Santana has brought her up once over the course of their friendship.
Santana becomes stoney-faced, as if not to give herself too much away.  “No,” she says simply.  “Brittany’s living in some commune in LA where she does Fondue for Two and runs a cat babysitting service.”
“That’s a thing?”
“In LA it is.”  A fond smile climbs on her lips.  “In any case, as much as I am always up for seeing my girl again, I highly doubt she’ll be back.  I mean, we were still hooking up for a while the few times I made it out to LA, but recently she’s found someone a little more… permanent.  And before you go on pitying me, let me assure you, I am more than fine.”  She’s quiet for a moment as she reflects.  For a person who is almost always open about her thoughts, she’s decidedly reclusive when it comes to matters of her heart.  Blaine knows better than to try to pry it out of her. “Anyway, if we’re going to be upfront about exes, I believe there’s only one person left, if we’re not counting random chicks with mafia dads or weird Irish exchange students.  And I’m sure we both know that there’s no way in hell Lady Hummel is coming back to Lima, Ohio.”
“Oh!” Blaine says, as if it’s a complete revelation.  Kurt hadn’t even entered his mind, and it is surreal to think that his brain didn’t go there first.
“Oh, please, don’t tell me you actually forgot about Lady Hummel and his heartbreaking ways,” Santana scoffs.  “Pretty sure years of therapy couldn’t undo all the trauma that did.”
She isn’t wrong, and she would know, because she helped pick him up a year after everything had happened.  But that’s the funny thing -- it’s not that he doesn’t remember Kurt.  (God, he remembers all of Kurt.)  He doesn’t remember the person he used to be when he had been with Kurt.  There had been a time when he would have shifted the Sun and the Moon and the entire Earth for Kurt Hummel.  A time when his heart had pointed in only one direction.  And a time so dark that when Kurt had ended it, Blaine didn’t know how he would ever move on.
And yet he did.
The person he had been is now such a faded memory he can barely remember what those feelings were like.  Kurt Hummel is just another name from his past, a person who, yes, helped shape him into the person he is now.  But long gone are the emotions once attached to that name.  Funny how things can change.  Someone could mean so much to you at one point in time, and yet after time…
“I didn’t forget about Kurt, clearly,” Blaine says. He grabs her arm, and loops his own through it.  The jog isn’t happening today, and he’s fine with that.  Some days, it’s best just to have the company rather than the exercise.  “I just think you’re right, unless Burt is dying or something.  But doubtful that he’ll return for a silly retirement party.”
“You almost sound disappointed.”
Blaine shrugs, and gives a smile.  He doesn’t know how he feels about whether or not Kurt will be there.  He hasn’t thought about him so long.  But he does know that after all this talk of the past, maybe he is ready to go back and see if anyone else is feeling the same way.  “I think we should do it.  Go back.  I mean, why not?”
Santana shakes her head.  “Oh, this whole idea sounds like the worst, but if there’s a chance I get to make-out with Quinn Fabray again, then I’m in.”
For the first time in a while, Blaine feels a little lighter on his feet.
***
Not a few weeks later, Blaine is on a plane back to Ohio.
He and Sean talked it over and, while Sean had been technically free to go, they agreed that maybe it would be better if Blaine went himself; the unspoken dialogue being that space isn’t the worst thing they could give each other.  Blaine had not been able to help but be fidgety with his wedding ring during the flight but, intent on giving himself a weekend off from real life, he drowned himself in his favorite podcasts, and had tried not to think about his life in New York.
The party is on a Saturday afternoon, but he’s there on Friday so to spend time with his mom.  They end up having a nice lunch together, and she takes him shopping.  She’s as feisty as ever, somehow managing to remind Blaine of Santana, and he wonders if she’s always been like that or if that’s a new trait of being in your sixties.  They end up FaceTiming with Cooper and the kids, and Blaine indulges his little nieces by singing them Disney Princess songs.  The whole day weirdly feels like the family they usually are only around Christmas time, but he’s in good enough spirits that he doesn’t question it.
Later that night, his dad comes home, and they have pizza before his parents go off for one of their social benefit parties they often frequent, reminding Blaine of the old days when his parents were never home on a Friday night.  He doesn’t mind so much because McKinley’s Homecoming Football game is that night.
His original plan had been to meet up with Sam since Santana’s plane isn’t coming in until tomorrow.  But Sam declined, stating that Mercedes Jones is coming late that night and she needs a ride from the airport.  Sam didn’t ask Blaine to come with him.  Blaine calls up Mike, who is happy to hear from him, and says that he will be at the party but is only going to make the trip to Lima once on Saturday.  He doesn’t bother trying to get a hold of anyone else, and ends up going to the game alone.
Coming back to McKinley feels like going back in time, and yet the kids running around make him feel entirely too old to be there.  He half expects Sue Sylvester to pop out and start yelling at the cheerleaders, or Mr. Figgins to make some sort of half-time speech, but the world of McKinley has moved on, even if the campus has remained remarkably the same.  The game is fun, but kind of boring, and he’s not surprised when the team loses by seventeen points.  Still, seeing the array of alumni all cheering around him, he feels a strange sort of connection to the place in a way that he really didn’t when he actually went to the school.  It’s a bit surreal.
Afterwards, not ready to go home to an empty house, he drives around for a bit, until by chance, he drives by Scandals, Lima’s decrepit excuse for a gay bar.  Feeling somewhat amused, a little nostalgic, and a lot in need of a drink, he decides to grab a beer for old times’ sake.  He decides, on a whim, to put his wedding ring in his pocket.  He’s not actually planning anything, but it’s also not like Sean wears his anymore, anyway.
Scandals is even more in a sad state of affairs then he remembers, even if ‘Funk-It-Up-Friday’ is trying to give the place some of that Mid-Western Charm.  He orders a bottled beer, and sips as he thinks fondly about the time he watched Dave Karofsky try to line dance.  God, that had been so long ago…
“I’m guessing this place rarely sees a man as gorgeous as you.  Mind if I buy you a drink?”
It takes a moment for Blaine to realize the pick-up line is directed at him, but he does instantly recognize the voice.  Much to his shock, when he turns around, he’s face to face with a much older, and yet still dazzlingly magnificent, Kurt Hummel.

Hold on I still need you...
SUMMARY: Y/N, the youngest avenger- in her teens, with quite the bond with the rest of the Avengers, especially Steve and Tony- being the only one who can make the two agree. This fic is her POV of the events of endgame. What happens when a high school girl goes through what the avengers had to. When the only family she held with all her might split apart.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I looked around; the bitter air thick. It’s been 5 years…
Like any other day, I walk around the avengers facility... first, like every other morning I go to Pietro’s room, like I’ve been doing years before the decimation. I move his things around a bit, feels like the ghost of him in the pages of his diary, his ridiculous set of sneakers.
Then I move on to re-open newer wounds… I got into Wanda’s room, slide by Vision’s, spend some time in Bucky’s room and let some light into Sam’s. I walk into Tony’s finally… he wasn’t turned to ashes, he just left… so did Thor… so did Clint…
Nat would have finished mission reports with the rest of them, so I decide to walk to her. I found Steve there too, Nat had cried, I could see. She smiled as she saw me walk in. ‘Hey Y/N, daily patrol done?’ she asks as casual as she can make it seem. ‘Mmhmm’ I reply distracted as I hug her and then move to Steve to do the same. ‘How are you kiddo?’ Steve asks as I pull away from him and sit on Nat’s table. ‘Great’ I mumble.
What else could I say? Before…when I joined the team during Ultron’s threat, I was the only one who could make Steve and Tony see eye to eye. Being the youngest on the team, with beliefs like Steve and interests like Tony, I went along with both of them. What was once reality is now a far away fantasy.
‘Its okay to not be okay Y/N’ Steve pressed, putting an arm on my shoulder. ‘Stop Steve, I love you but I’ll hit you with Nat’s peanut butter sandwich if you give me that speech again’
Steve shook his head laughing as Nat smirked. She must have probably told him the same thing.
Nat and Steve continued their conversation as I lost focus staring outside the facility. That’s when I saw it- there was someone at the gate. ‘Nat check the security footage.’ I said suddenly. No… how?... it was him, it was Scott Lang.
Time skip to the whole Quantum theory explanation thingy. Now we were on our way to the smartest guy I know, the only guy who could possibly save us. Stark.
I hadn’t met Tony in about three years… he last time I saw him, was when Morgan was born. Oh, how I love little Morgan, but I stayed away… for the sake of us. I was buzzing in excitement putting my jacket on as I felt an arm on my shoulder. I turn to see Nat and Steve in slight worry and a very clueless Scott. ‘What?’ I ask smiling, the smile faltered away quick enough when neither Nat nor Steve returned it.
‘Listen, Y/N, you haven’t met Tony in a while. Just don’t get hurt okay.’ Nat tried saying it in a way adults talk so as to not worry kids. I’m not a kid, I get it, I’m an Avenger.
I nodded. This was our life now, no hope. ‘At least I haven’t given up hope Nat’ I say rather harsh, as Nat takes in a sharp breath. ‘I’m sorry Nat I didn’t mean it… I’m sorry’ I hurry to cover my mistake. But the damage was done, Nat puts on a stoic demeanor and replies, ‘Its okay’.
We walk to the car in silence, Steve put a hand behind my back so as to say its okay. The Avengers- if you could call us that- were lost.
We parked the car in front of Tony’s cozy cottage. I stood behind Steve as we got out the car. There he was, just standing there- Tony, with Morgan in his arms. He nodded at Nat, who hid a glint of happiness in her smirk. And then he saw me. He visibly sucked in his breath as I attempted for a smile. He set Morgan down who ran inside, to pepper probably. I looked at Steve, who gave me a small smile and nod, then walked towards tony.
I stood in front of him. ‘Hey Tony’ I whisper. ‘Hey kid’ he replies, his emotions evidently straining him. He is the most stoic person I know, yet, he pulled me into a hug letting out a breath of relief. ‘Missed having you around kid’ he said. ‘I missed you Tony’ I replied, getting straight to the point, a huge knot in my throat. ‘You’ve grown tall haven’t you’ he chuckles.
I look back at Steve , who is smiling… his face ghosting all the times we had together, as a team, in the past. Nat and Steve follow us inside, Scott hurrying along.
Scott explains everything to Tony… but he’s scared, I can see it. Tony can’t stake his cards. He doesn’t. We’re walking back, its not failure just a setback. ‘Tony please… we can get them back… Wanda, Bucky, Peter! Just please Tony… try… how long do we live in the guilt of our failure.’ I yell at him. He looks at his drink. ‘I can’t lose what I found Y/N… I just can’t’ he says. I felt I was spiraling down an endless loop. ‘Do you not care….’ I whisper. He stares at me with betrayal in his eyes.
‘Y/N!’ Tony calls out as I’m almost in the car. We all stop. Tony walks up to Steve and says, ‘Let her stay, please. For some time at least.’ I smile a little…How can he ever think I could so easily give up what's going on. ‘I can’t rest yet Tony… I can’t unless I try to bring them back… unless I know I tried everything I can possibly try to get them back.’ I say as I get into the car, Nat behind.
We then made our way to our second, possibly last, resort- Bruce. It took a while, a weird sort of reunion – before he agreed. Scott was the experiment dummy… It didn’t go well. Steve walks out frustrated, I follow him. He stood leaning against a wall, I went and stood by him. ‘This isn’t going well is it’ I say and he nods.
That’s when our hope was lit up once again, we saw the black sports car… familiar as ever. Came to a stop right in front of us and out walked Tony. I looked at Steve breaking into the most kiddish grin ever. Knew he’d come… knew he’d solve it- now all that’s left is the mission.
That’s nothing new. We’ve done it a thousand times before.
---------------------------
Correction. It was nothing like before.
Nat’s gone…. I sat beside Steve as Clint told us the story. I could feel Bruce's anger. I could see Steve's tears. I could hear Tony's frustration. And i shared Clint's grief. I stood leaning by the pole Clint was standing next to. Silent tears running down my face. I'd never again see that beautiful red head in all her action. Never again would I see her being sassy to Steve, being the best friend ever to Clint, being protective over me, being hopeful over life. She's gone.
Thanos will pay for this. It is all his fault. He will pay for every tear that left my team. He will die for this.
------------------------
‘And I… am… Iron Man’
Those were the last words I heard Tony say as he went in for the snap, the power so strong that a surge of electricity went through all of us.
The rubble cleared, the smell of ashes thick in the air and dust and smoke flying around. 'Tony!' I yelled before I could even see him. I throw off the concrete that fell over me and run to Tony before anyone else comprehended what happened. Peter was there already, crying. Rhodes helped him off as I crouched next to Tony.
‘Hey kid’ he said as I held onto his hand. ‘Tony… hey….’ I said, trying not to cry, but failing terribly. ‘Friday’ I said, she replied instantly ‘Life vitals failing’. I felt the air get sucked out of me. ‘No Tony, please, you cant go… Tony please…’ I say desperate. ‘I’m proud of you Y/N’ he said, smiling knowingly. ‘No Tony don’t you dare talk like that! At least stay this time, Tony! I just got you back!’ I ranted, crying visibly now.
‘I love you’ He smiled. ‘Tony please…. Hold on I still need you’ I whispered eerily low, broken. I felt arms wrap around my shoulders and pull me away as pepper sat down. Steve. His eyes too were filled, like every soul on the battlefield. I couldn’t make out the exchange between pepper and Tony, I couldn’t hear Steve trying to help me, I couldn’t hear Peter crying… my ears were ringing.
I felt it before I heard it. Tony’s heart… it lost its beat. And then the ringing went silent. I let out every bit of my pain in one scream, as Steve tried to help me from collapsing, him being the only reason I was still standing. The battlefield went dead silent. All the warriors, heroes, on their knees…. For him, for Tony.
He’s gone. He’s with Nat now.
I whispered one last time under my breathe,
‘Hold on I still need you.’

My BFB is the one for me!
juke | human!au + brother!reggie | title from BFB // victorious
If someone had to ask her who the one constant in her life was, she would have to say Luke Patterson. Which was depressing, cause the guy went through life pretending to be a 90s heartthrob and, even worse, that list didn't even include her own mother.
Julie met Luke when she was five and he was six. Her brother Reggie befriended him on the first day of school and the rest was history. "Soul-brothers" they called themselves, which would be cute if they weren't so obnoxious together. Separate, they were somewhat manageable. Put those two in the same room? Chaos would ensue.
He was there for it all. Weekly play dates, birthdays, the occasional holiday, her mom's funeral, band rehearsals. And when Luke had a month-long falling out with his parents, he stayed with them.
Realistically, that should make him seem like a brother to Julie. But neither Carlos or Reggie were as infuriating as Luke was! With the stupid band tees and the stupid smile and the stupid, relentless teasing he lovingly bestowed upon her. She lost count how many times he "poisoned" her soda with salt or woke her with a heart attack by playing his electric guitar. At least she had some grip on her brothers, being their only sister, but Luke…
Luke and her had this interesting, little relationship that she couldn't quite put her finger on and it unnerved her. Like it was an itch she couldn't scratch. (Or maybe he was just an annoying mosquito buzzing around her and should leave her the fuck alone. Probably.)
Hopping down the stairs for her midnight snack, it was no surprise to her to find the idiot gaping into the fridge like a goon. With a nudge of the hip, she pushed him aside.
'Hey!'
'Either pick something or save power,' she retorted, grabbing a bowl of grapes.
He snorted. 'I don't think my indecisiveness is gonna kill the planet.'
She shot him a look, an amused smile tugging on her lips. 'You wanna say that in the cute face of a polar bear?'
Luke stared at her for a beat, a smile crawling on his own face and shaking his head with a chuckle. The fridge fell shut with the pride of a won argument swelling in her chest.
'So why're you still up?', he asked as she flitted around him for the bread and peanut butter. Maybe she could sneak up a butterscotch cookie too - her dad won't notice one missing, right?
Unscrewing the lid, she sighed. 'Mendoza's class is murdering me. I really don't get why we need to learn calculus. We're an arts school, not like any of us are going to use formulas on the set of a movie.'
When she passed him to get the orange juice from the fridge, he took hold of the jar, sliding it between his hands thoughtfully.
'Just don't overthink it,' he shrugged.
She rolled her eyes. 'Easy for you, obviously.'
His mouth fell slack, offended, as Julie put the bottle on the island with mirth glimmering in her expression. After years of sparring with Luke, she knew how to press his buttons and took great joy in doing so.
Suddenly leaning into her personal bubble, he sputtered. 'Are you… calling me dumb?'
Her hand pushed his face back with a scoff. 'Don't breathe on me. All I'm saying is that you look like you have elevator music playing up there 24/7.'
When she went to grab the jar from his hand, he moved it away.
'Uh, I think you're mistaking me for your brother.'
'No-' Tried again, moved away. '-I don't think I do.'
'You do.'
She crossed her arms, resolute. 'He's part of the gifted program.'
It unfazed him. 'Yeah. And it means shit.'
She held her palm up, exasperated. 'Just give me the peanut butter, Luke.'
Raising it over his head with an infuriating smirk, the other tugged on a curl. 'No.'
Gah! He was so dead! Did he forget she lived with three men in this house?!
Without a second of hesitation, Julie barrelled into him and jumped to catch it. Luke snatched her wrist before she could with a laugh, a hitched puff coming right after as her elbow jabbed his ribs.
He set the jar down at lightning speed and grabbed her other wrist. Both their arms were outstretched as her foot kicked his calf, hard. When he yelped, her left hand loosened and dove for the jar. Right as her fingertips grazed the glass, a strong arm snaked around her waist and pulled her back. An "oof!" left her lips, the breath kicked out of her lungs.
Luke guffawed in her ear victoriously, whooping the house together. Curse words rolled off her tongue as she repeatedly slapped his forearm to let go. She felt embarrassingly small with her feet hovering above the floor and this power dynamic was not doing it for her confidence.
'The fuck are you doing?'
Julie smacked to the floor before the last words were uttered, a flabbergasted Reggie staring at the pair.
Luke stammered. 'Uh…'
'Your bestie held the peanut butter hostage,' Julie replied sardonically. 'Did dad wake up?'
He shook his head, a peculiar expression fixed on Luke. Her gaze shot between the two. Were they having… a silent conversation? With the way their brows quirked an lips twitched, it seemed like some "bro-talk" Julie wouldn't even like to understand.
'Don't break your head too much over Mendoza, okay?' Reggie added, smiling at her this time. 'Just relax.'
She sighed. Relax. Because the fear of failure got eradicated with the snap of a finger if she just relaxed. 'Yeah. Sure.'
The boys finally left, silence descended, and Julie made her sandwich. For some reason, the quietude made her uncomfortable.
***
Though Luke was annoying at times, the band he was in - Sunset Curve - definitely wasn't. Reggie, Alex and Luke created it when they were thirteen and overzealous. Reggie and Luke met Alex the same year and bullied him into a friendship, all bonding over cliché lyrics and overused chord progressions. They quickly got better though, earning a small following and a hopeful future in the LA scene. Julie was very proud of her brother. All those hours practicing the bass until his fingers bled was finally paying off with each new gig they rocked.
And as the Molina's were raised to appreciate good music, Julie often found herself sprawled on the leather couch as they rehearsed. Reggie used to hate it, saying she was being "sticky" and "distracting", but eventually found her useful whenever they needed someone to bounce ideas with. She has co-written many of their songs. It was then that Luke was the least annoying, when he was so entranced and passionate about music that he had no time to pester her.
(If she were honest with herself, she'd admit that song-writing with Luke was when she felt like herself the most, enjoyed life the most. But Luke was stupid and she definitely didn't feel a vibe when they wrote, so honesty was obsolete.)
'Or else you'll get,' Luke growled in the mic, music crashing together in their signature punk-rock sound. 'Crooked teeth!'
They shot into an electrifying interlude. Alex headbanging the sweat of his forehead from his fast-paced drumming, Reggie bouncing in his heels as he heightened the bassline and Luke… was being Luke. Julie looked up from her laptop as his strumming came closer, that signature grin fixed on her as his fingers expertly glided across the neck. Her typing paused, amused.
Why was he so adamant about "impressing" her with a riff? He knew she liked their music (and has caught her looking at his hands… ugh, fourteen year old Julie had bad judgement), he didn't have to prove himself or something.
She smiled. 'You're going to miss your cue, idiot!'
Ignoring her exclaim, he bobbed his head to the melody and wiggled his brows. Her eyes drifted to Alex, the blonde staring at Reggie and Reggie staring at the back of Luke's head. This has been happening a lot, Julie realised. There was this weird energy whenever they were all in the same room. For a bit, she thought it was her that was the problem, but if she was, Reggie would've told her by now.
Now Luke was really in her face, pushing her laptop shut with his knee and making those stupid expressions he pulled whenever Grace talked to him in the hallway. Never one to back down, Julie abruptly stood up and pushed him back with a challenging smirk. The boy was seventeen; he was in serious trouble if he lacked the spatial awareness and common sense.
‘Sing with us?!’, he pleaded over the crash of the cymbal. Behind him, Alex’ brows went so far up it disappeared into his snapback. A nervous tug knotted in her stomach at his request, like she was afraid to disappoint him, and shook her head. Keeping up the attitude she nodded at the laptop he so valiantly closed for her.
Pulling it against her chest, she pointed at his bandmates. ‘Go sing about some fucked up teeth more!’
‘Crooked teeth!’, they all yelled in annoyance. Proud to have executed her role an irritating, little sister, she hopped out the studio. If she felt someone’s gaze burning in her back, she must’ve imagined it.
***
There was something to be said about Grace and Luke. Though it wasn’t Julie’s business (or anyone’s, for that matter), the coupling has always intrigued her. Or lack of coupling, really. Every few months they’d find themselves at each other’s lockers flirting up a storm for everyone to see to then ghost each other again. This vicious cycle has been on loop since sophomore year. Julie felt bad for Grace, the pretty senior girl deserved far better than Luke.
Last night, Julie couldn’t sleep. “Crooked Teeth” was blaring in her mind and haunted her dreams (and Luke’s stupid face) until she woke up in a sweat. Something was off. Like solving a math question and knowing the result is wrong but unsure where it all went wrong. Around four in the morning, it hit her. The bridge! It was all jumbled and clunky and she had far better ideas on how to craft it! She sat at her keyboard until seven in the morning, only to stop when a frustrated Carlos barged in, threw a pillow at her and yelled to “zip it!” Reggie and dad, naturally, slept through all of it.
Now, a sleep-deprived, caffeinated and kind of manic Julie was bustling through the hallways trying (and failing) to find Luke. Sure, they butted heads a lot, but music has always been the glue. Temporary glue, but the fact remained that she and Luke were cut from the same cloth when it came to composition and lyrical prowess. (Not that she’d ever admit that. Ew. His ego was large enough as is.)
And then she saw him. At Grace’s locker. Her breath lodged in her throat at the sight. It shouldn’t. God, it truly shouldn’t. But it did. Because Grace was pretty and Luke had one of those faces and they looked good together and it annoyed the fuck out of her. Like, who decided who went through puberty better. Julie knew she wasn’t unattractive, but she wasn’t Grace either. Tall and lithe and glossy black hair and a perfect nose. The ugly, green monster in the back of her head snarled about how her personality was probably off-putting, though Julie knew that to be untrue. Grace was, well, graceful. Genuinely kind. Gah! Since when did Julie hate on other girls? Pushing the voice down, she mustered back the previous excitement (the! bridge!) and paraded towards the pair. Luke saw her before Grace did.
She rushed the last few steps and hastily grabbed the papers from the side pocket of her backpack. 'Luke! Hi, Grace. Okay, I know "Crooked Teeth" is finished, but I couldn't stop thinking about it and I had this amazing idea for the bridge.'
When he didn't react for a beat, stunned by her giddy attitude, her smile mellowed awkwardly. 'I mean… it's your song. You don't have to-'
'No!', he shouted, frantic. Her brows raised in surprise. 'No, uh-' His hand flew to the back of his head, raking the ends of his hair. 'Yeah. D'you wanna go to the music room? To show me?'
Julie’s eyes flitted to a confused Grace. ‘Um…’
Luke caught on and shot the girl an easy grin. ‘Talk to you later, yeah?’
She shrugged. ‘I guess?’
Before she could say anything more, Luke snatched Julie by the wrist and dragged her to the nearest, open music room. The arts school was littered with them, though most had a reserved schedule. Luckily, one was empty.
‘Okay,’ she said, tucking her hair behind her ears as she slid down in front of the piano. Luke sat next to her, expectant. ‘The bridge right now? It’s fine, but it’s not “wow”, you know? I was thinking about how the verses and chorus sound so visceral and loud, so the bridge should have something guttural. Like, primal. That’s a weird word to use, but, I don’t know, have it sound dangerous? Like - why’re you looking at me like that?’
A strange expression was plastered on Luke’s face. A half-grin and wide eyes, like he was scared he’d miss something, like he’d blink and she’d disappear. In other words: he looked insane. Then again, her exhaustion mustn’t look too appealing either.
He shook his head, that smile falling away for something more timid. All the bravado he oozed while talking to Grace just moments before, was gone for shy eyes and fingers gripping the chain around his jeans.
‘Nothing.’ He nudged her. ‘You kinda ambushed me here, Molina.’
Her words stuttered out. ‘I- I was just-’ Zeroing back on the keys with a frown, she said: ‘I’ll just play you the bridge.’
As she did, her mind was elsewhere. This wasn’t weird, right? They’ve done this before. Collaborated, gone to music rooms to bounce ideas back and forth, played until dusk. She knew it wasn’t weird. It was always just a matter of time before the next “ambush” came, as he put it. Soon, he’d barge into her room with half a melody and forced her to finish it. This was normal.
Then why did her skin ripple with anticipation from his intense gaze directed on her temple?
When she finished, she kept her eyes on the keys. Suddenly, his hand appeared in her vision and softly patted her knuckles, urging her to look at him anyway. He had that strange look again, the sight letting the most peculiar feeling rush through her veins.
Luke smiled. ‘I like it.’
‘Yeah?’
‘Wanna play it for the boys during next rehearsal?’ His brows raised with hope, head leaning her way as if he wasn’t already close enough. And he wasn’t close enough.
Julie went on autopilot at this point, too enthralled by her emotions running wild. ‘Yeah.’ It came out breathy and foolish and if she had half a brain cell right now, she’d kick herself in the face for how dumb she sounded.
His hand squeezed hers and then let go, that smile turning nervous. Oh God, did he notice how weird she abruptly got? ‘Cool. Sweet. Perfect. Your- this was perfect. I’ll see you, uh, -’
‘Yeah,’ she squeaked. ‘Whenever.’
When he left the room in a hurry, her face planted itself on the keys and erupted a harsh sound. Fitting, she believed. Her mind was a mess too.
***
Then stuff began piling on and each time it did, Julie’s heart fluttered like the traitorous bitch it was.
Like when Luke told her to tell calculus to “bite her” as a joke, but then she actually did during a test and somehow didn’t get a black out. She knew it was likely just a placebo, but the grin she earned later on when she showed him the B+ and he gave her the tightest hug was worth the pseudo-science.
Or he found her in the hallway whenever they both had a free period and casual small talk turned to slamming each other into lockers or, more recently, pulled her outside to get boba from the place right across the street. Their boba hangouts were probably the strangest development of all, but it was… nice. Pleasant. If she ever secretly thought it was a date, then it must’ve been a sun stroke hitting her.
Or she’d be doing her homework and he’d waltz into her room (because he was always at their house and that never changed) and randomly help her with a task or question. It was small and it usually slowed her down, but she hasn’t had the guts to turn him away either. She blamed his stupid smile.
Or just yesterday they were all in the kitchen and she was peering over Reggie’s shoulder as he tried and failed to properly text his crush Kayla, when she said:
‘Isn’t that weird? That you’re talking to a junior?’
Luke, who was looking over his other shoulder, scoffed. ‘Why would that be weird?’
Pointing at the emoji he should be using (the purple heart - duh!), she shrugged. ‘I don’t know. You just don’t see a lot of people date outside of their year. It’s, like, an unspoken rule.’
Reggie pouted. ‘Not helping, Jules.’
‘I am! Use the purple heart!’
Luke snorted. ‘Please, if you were asked out by some senior boy, you’d say no?’
The Molina’s looked up from the phone to shoot him a weird look. The boy shrunk under their stare, fingers nervously drumming island.
Caution tinged her voice. ‘I don’t know… should I?’
The boys stared at each other for a beat. That “bro-talk” again, Julie presumed with a roll of the eye. Typical.
‘Yes,’ Luke trailed, unsure. ‘You should say no.’
A ball of disappointment dropped to the pit of her stomach at his words - hard. Oh. So he didn’t mean himself then. Julie froze. Why would she even want that? She was not returning to her fourteen year old self that gawked at Luke like an idiot. Nope. Not happening. Just because she felt flushed and ecstatic every Wednesday afternoon when they schedules lined up, that didn’t mean her crush has resurfaced. Totally.
But then something even more maddening happened. It was Thursday afternoon, right before lunch, when Nick approached her by her locker. She’d been fervently texting a sick Flynn to get better when he started asking about dance class and how on earth he was supposed to master a calypso by Monday next week. He was clearly stressed and Julie gave him a hug. Just as she was going to offer her help (or redirect him to Kayla, as she was an actual dance goddess), a familiar arm draped around her shoulder and pulled her back.
Julie was fuming. Luke decided to start acting like some jovial prick as he intimidated Nick with all these terror stories about his own dance assignments from last year and that “a calypso was just the beginning.” The poor guy was practically passed out from anxiety by the time his spiel was over. She couldn’t even yell an apology as he sped off and spun around the corner at lightning speed.
The arm fell away, Luke stared at her ridden with guilt, muttered some half-assed “sorry” and rushed off in the opposite direction. A baffled, angry Julie was left standing there.
If Luke thought he could be some white knight, he was dead wrong.
***
She got lucky. Reggie mentioned beforehand Luke was coming over and knew that he, inevitably, would ascend the stairs. A pent-up Julie paced in her room, feeling that fever pitch come to a boiling point. Argh! Why was he so… infuriating?! (And attractive?! And charismatic?! Argh!)
Then she heard it. His tentative steps up the steps. Like he knew. The fact that she was seemingly predictable left her cold this time, slamming her door open at just the right moment to snatch his wrist and roughly yank him inside.
Before he could react, she yelled: 'What the hell, Luke?! Why did you do that?'
Luke was a stammering, embarrassed mess. Good. 'Uh- I- I-'
'You can't just act all overprotective or possessive like that! What's your problem with Nick? He's super nice and, you know, my friend. I already have two brothers, I don’t need one more!’
'I-'
'You don't get to decide who I talk with! Or save me or whatever fantasy you were living in! And-!'
'I like you, Jules,' he blurted.
Julie was blazing though. 'So? That doesn't mean that-' Until the words dried on her tongue, stunned. All else she had prepared to say flew out the window. The constant fluttering in her heart hitched. Did she… hear him correctly? 'W-what?'
A beat went by, like he couldn’t believe he actually said that, but then word vomit spewed out. 'I- I like you? Like, on and off since I was eleven and I tried to not like you - I really tried - but you're just incredible and pretty and an amazing singer and you keep doing that thing with your lips when you have a thought and it's been killing me seeing Nick shoot his shot and-'
Julie dove forward and pressed a kiss on his rambling mouth. Stretched on her tippy toes, she saw him freeze and stare at her in wonder. Slowly, her poor heart began to beat again, fast and fond and for him and oh my God, what was happening?
'Did you just-', he croaked.
Shit. Should she have asked to kiss him first? Her hands didn't leave his shoulders, alarmed. 'Uh… you just kept talking and-' She swallowed back her nerves and mustered a smile. 'If you wanted to be my boyfriend, you could've just asked.'
Luke blinked, completely in awe by her words. 'What?'
Alright. Time to take life by the balls, Molina.
'You didn't think I might like you back?'
An incredulous laugh puffed from his lips, looking from her hands on his shoulders and then grabbed onto her waist. Jitters burst in her stomach at the sudden touch. This was actually happening. Holy shit. But God, how could she deny that bright smile and his warm smile and that giddy feeling that rippled her skin each time they hung out?
'Can we try that again?', he breathed.
His grin captured hers before she could fully nod, his hands slipping to her lower back and jaw without hesitation. Her arms slung around his neck, finally getting a feel for his soft locks of hair. Heat grew from her chest to her toes, curling from bliss. She felt deliciously empty and full of glee all at once.
Her back fell against the door with a giggle. Just as he went back in, she pressed a finger on his lips.
'Still doesn't make it right what you did.'
'Yeah.' He kissed her again. 'Sorry.'
She tried saying more, but each word was muffled by another warm kiss of his intoxicating lips and all she could do was melt against him. The odd lyric that “heaven was his lips and larger than paradise” passed her by, hopefully reminding her of its existence in an hour or two.
His fingers slipped under her shirt and dug into her heated skin. They became lazier, the kisses open-mouthed and smiling and already so amazing at first try. Julie has kissed a handful of boys before, but this? Unmatched.
Two sudden knocks against wood. ‘Julie?’
They froze, Julie slapping a hand over his mouth to stifle his inevitable snicker.
‘Have you seen Luke?’, Reggie continued, confusion lacing his voice.
‘No!’, her voice squeaked, still affected by their make-out. Cringing, she tried to level it. ‘Uh, maybe he’s gone to the, uh-’ His lips grazed her neck, teasingly. She pinched his arm, but he didn’t lean back. Asshole. ‘-uh…’
‘Julie? Everything okay?’
‘Yeah! Yeah! I’m fine!’ Julie pushed Luke back again, this time the boy giving her some space. The wolfish smirk he was sporting was one she either wanted to slap or kiss away. ‘Maybe he’s in the bathroom? Annoying Carlos? The studio?’ Not my room!
They held in their breaths as they waited for a reply. Her mind was failing to catch up to what she’s just done. Here she was, with flushed lips and tingling skin from Luke’s actions as her brother was meandering on the other side of the door. How did she end up here?
He blew a raspberry. ‘Okay…’ They sighed. ‘When you’re done making out, can you force Luke to start our project? Kind of an important assignment.’
Luke’s face crashed into pure horror, mouth falling agape and skin pale as a ghost. Julie snorted despite herself, dropping her head on his shoulder in an attempt to muffle her giggles but failing horribly. Of course, Reggie knew. His dreamy nature made anyone forget how observant he actually was, yet here he instantly he had his pulse on the facts. Or he’s always known about Luke’s crush on her. Probably both.
Her smile stretched against the fabric of his shirt. Luke had a crush on her. Luke liked her.
Reggie’s footsteps faded away, his bedroom door falling shut. Their gazes met again.
Luke gulped, green eyes wide and oh so adorable. ‘He took that surprisingly well.’
Her chin raised, haughty. She hasn’t forgotten about that infuriating face of his just one minute before. ‘You kissed my neck.’
That look returned as he hummed, edging closer. ‘I did.’
‘You’re an asshole, you know that?’
His face brightened at her words, weaving a hand through her and making her sigh just like that. She was gone and she didn’t even know it. ‘And you’re-’ he murmured, softly kissing her lips, ‘-into that.’
How desperately she wanted to keep this going, she has heard what Reggie said. An important project due. She shouldn’t trouble her brother like that, even if making out with his best friend was far more appealing than anything else in the world right now.
The measly words puffed out. ‘You have-’ kiss ‘-a project-’ kiss ‘-with Reggie.’ kiss.
‘Hmm…’ Letting her stand between his legs to be even closer and consequently shutting down any rationale, Luke mumbled against her lips: ‘One more minute.’
In the end, Luke stayed for another thirty minutes before Reggie barged in, dragged the boy from Julie’s bed by the collar and wordlessly trucked back out the room. When later that night she received a text saying goodnight jules 💙 she knew she hadn’t been dreaming.
And when Luke kissed her square on the lips the next day for everyone to see, Julie had inkling this interesting, little relationship of theirs was the just the beginning.

“ Gonzo Loves Chickens”         Robin Buckley x Stutterer! Reader
Okay so, I have a stutter and stuff, and that’s why I made this 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
“w-well” you stammered, getting up. “Well what? God you losers, so damn pathetic” One of the mouthbreathers said. “I-I-I-I’m going to tell Steve! And th-the-then” Troy interrupted “Oh my god, you really can’t talk straight to save your life! B-B-Ba-BAWK” He then started flailing his arms and making more chicken noises.
Later that day…
“Hey! I got back from work early and Geuss what I got for you!!” Robin, the only one who made you feel safe. You sat down your book bag and sat on the couch as your girlfriend continued her rambles “Well, I technically didn’t rent it since I didn’t have the money for it. Not saying I stole it! I’m gonna give it back-“ You chuckled “wh-wh-what is it?” Robin scrambled into her bag and pulled out a VHS tape and… “GONZO!” You squealed as you grabbed the stuffed toy from her hand.
“You’re so cute-“ Robin said, blushing. “Now, how was your day at school? I hope it was good!” You looked down, what do you tell her? Those jerks always called you names and laughed while you stuttered while answering questions. Which just made you stutter more. “Th-the-they called me a…” Robin didn’t say anything, just gave a look that seemed to say ‘I’ll wait.’ “A Ch-chicken” Robin gasped, absolutely taken aback. She grabbed you and flooded you with pecks to your cheeks and lips. “If anything baby, he wished he could be a chicken. Gonzo loves chickens right? They’re always helping him with jobs, doing acrobatics. Being a chicken doesn’t seem half bad to me!” You snickered slightly at Robin’s remark. You lifted your head to meet her gaze and kissed her.
“Oh yeah! You never saw your other present!” Robin said, pulling out the VHS tape again to reveal you and Robin’s favorite movie. “The Muppets” She gave you another peck on the cheek as she set up the movie. “So, who’s your favorite muppet and why is it Gonzo?” You laughed “W-well you see um- I-it’s because G-Gonzo is… what’s the word… f-ff- fun!” Robin smiled and nodded. You continued on with your rant about how great and mysterious the muppet was. And how he deserved his own film. You never felt more accepted than you did with Robin, everyone else would stop listening to your rants or you’d stop because your stammering would make everything take longer. But not Robin.

“Mom!” Steve Harrington x Little! Reader
Summary: Steve’s infamous nickname takes a wholesome turn. (Featuring Dustin and the rest of the fruity four)
“Hey Mom!” Dustin called, slamming the fridge shut. “There’s no food in here!” You and Dustin were over at Steve’s house. The man couldn’t cook to save his life, living off of Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. “Okay okay I’m coming, god can you just not call me ‘Mom’ for five seconds.” Steve said as he sauntered down the stairs. “Yeah yeah whatever MOM.” You sat there fidgeting and hungry as the boys argued. You told Steve about your age regression but you hadn’t really regressed around him. You weren’t really sure what to do. Robin, Eddie and Nancy came downstairs and went into the living room. Steve and Dustin had been arguing about what to eat when Dustin turned to you and said “Y/N, what do you wanna eat? Mom- I mean Steve is going to the store ” You looked down at your feet, struggling to find the words you wanted to say. “I-I wan some Dunkawoos” Steve walked over to you and gently ran his hand through your hair. “You’re regressed right?” You nodded. Steve paused for a moment “is there anything else you want? A toy? Some chocolate milk?”
“Nuh uh Mommy I’m otay.” Dustin laughed so hard he almost collapsed, Steve just stood there absolutely dumbstruck. “Awww i see the little one has a soft spot for you Harrington. Or should i say ‘mommy’”. You felt the heat rushing to your face as you fiddled with your fingers. “Awww Mama nancy and mommy Steve, seems fitting enough.” Robin interjected giving Nancy a slight nudge. Steve picked you up and sat you on his shoulders, you gasped with delight “Cmon! I’ll piggyback ride you to the store okay?” You squealed with delight “Tank you mommy!!!”
i had this idea and I just had to do it-

“I Hate that I Love You” Dark!Yandere! Nancy Wheeler x Fem!Reader  )Part 1(
Disclaimer: this is a HORROR fic. And I do not endource the actions used here nor should they be replicated in reality. That being said, the warnings include:
Stalking gaslighting Spoilers for a book that came out in 1800-
꧁༺☽⛓ .♱. ⛓☾༻꧂
Nancy wasn’t one to be vulnerable. Sure she had a few flings with Steve and Jonathan, but it wasn’t until she saw you that she really felt something. Nancy wasn’t some lovesick fool, you weren’t perfect. No one is. But it’s something about you that made her feel… warm. But that warmth quickly raised to a boil when she saw you around other people. She wasn’t sure if she hated you or not. You made her hate everyone that came in contact with you. You were like a parasite, completely stuck to her, taking over her mind. You made her feel so… confused, that didn’t sit well with her. Nancy was constantly in control, there was a time and a place for everything but around you it was pure chaos.

After school you went over to Mike’s House to play DND. About 2 hours in the phone rung upstairs and Mrs.Wheeler called you. “Your mother called, the teacher called saying you’re failing a class!” You huffed, you were never good at that class, but last you checked you had a B-… it was weird. You heard footsteps coming down the steps and turned to see Mike’s older sister. The two of you never interacted much, other than those weird stares she had been giving you for all these weeks. The two of you went into her room, she gestured for you to sit on her bed. “So, what is it that you struggle with?” You shrugged, “Grammar, spelling and semi colons and all that bullshit.”In all honesty you were a little scared of her. After the whole Will thing she changed, sure you never knew her before. But Barb talked about her a lot. Barb… maybe that’s why Nancy changed, you can’t judge a book by its cover after all.
After a few hours of studying you finally understood the topic and thanked Nancy. You were getting ready to leave when Nancy breeched your actions with her soft, yet demanding voice “Wait! Did you ever start the book? Frankenstein?” You shook your head. You were fairly good at reading things in a short time frame. Reading it so soon would only make you forget it later after all. But what’s a few more hours? Plus Nancy was… nice! Odd, but nice.
“For this I had deprived myself of rest and health. I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart…” Nancy read aloud. Me and her alike felt this, mutual fear but familiarness when it came to Victor Frankenstein. His creation, his child, a monster. One he made while blinded by the light of his innocence. Nancy looked really upset, so, you recommended stopping there and studying together tomorrow. She agreed.
꧁༺☽⛓ .♱. ⛓☾༻꧂
The next day at school, you questioned your teacher about why exactly you failed. “What are you talking about? You’re actually doing extremely well. After this essay, I bet your B- will go straight to an A!” You were happy, who wouldn’t be, but she called, didn’t she? You shrugged it off, mayhaps she called the wrong parent. The school was huge, it wasn’t that unlikely.
You went into the lunch room, thank god. 45 minutes of free time. You usually sat with the boys. But they weren’t there? Perhaps they were with Mr. Clarke, some science project probably. You peered around the lunchroom for a place to sit. You felt eyes burning, seemingly through your soul, you turned around to see Nancy. She wouldn’t mind if you sat there, right? Nancy wasn’t one for small talk, in fact she stayed silent as you spoke with Steve about the many hilarious ventures him and Robin got into during their summer jobs.
Robin, speaking of her… “Hey Nance!” Robin came, seemingly out of nowhere and sat on Nancy’s lap. Wheeler broke her unwavering glaze over to her. “Oh get off of me,” she chuckled. “Hey Y/N!” You waved in a reply. Right. They were dating. How could you forget.

🦋 My Little Butterfly🦋
Nancy Wheeler x Little! Reader
You were extremely tired after a really long D&D campaign. At the time Nancy was studying, she still is.
You stumbled up to her room as she sat writing a million Flashcards. “N-nace? Is you busy?” Nancy glanced up at you peeking through the door. “Aw, I thought I heard someone flapping up here,” she patted her lap “c’mere Butterfly.”
You snuggled your head into the crook of her neck as she softly caressed your hair. “My adorable little butterfly. Did you have fun?” You nodded, a soft yawn parting your lips. “m’ sowwy if i botherd you. M gonna go home…” You began to get up only for Nancy to gently grab your hand and give it a gentle kiss. “You know you’re too little to ride your bike right now, especially at such a late hour baby.” You sat back down on her lap, wrapping your arms around her.
“Shh Butterfly, it’s okay. Mama’s here, I’m here.” As she whispered sweet nothings into your ear you couldn’t help but drifting off into a deep sleep.
“I love you baby” is the last thing you hear before you fell asleep.
Authors Note: I’m still not good at fanfic writing yet 😅 I tried my best. I regress myself but if I got anything wrong please tell me!

My #1 post of 2022
“My Girlfriend is a Witch!” Witch! Robin Buckley x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: another gift for the amazing @semishyguy! I know it’s a bit early for Halloween but shhh
☾(∩`-´)⊃━☆゚.*・。゚☽
Everyone had their suspicions about Robin Buckley, sure she was a little… weird. But no weirder than you or Steve or Jonathan. Your girlfriend had this strange infatuation with a stray in your neighborhood though, a little black cat with the widest yellow eyes you had ever seen! She named him “Y/N Junior”. The two of you never brought him into your house, primarily because he didn’t want to. But you bought him a little collar a while ago, and always gave him his favorite foods when he stopped by the door of either of your homes.
it was October 28th. Robin was lounging around the study hall and reading a book. “Hey babe! What are you reading?” Robin jumped and closed the book. “Nothing, love.” She hid the book behind her and you peered behind her. A questioning look on your face. “What book? You know I love reading with you!” She sighed and pulled the book back out. The title read ‘R.L Stien. Fear Street.’ You could’ve sworn it was a different color… and from what you saw it was a hardcover book. Not a paperback how it is now. You shrugged it off, maybe it was just a trick of the light.
You, Steve, Dustin, El, and Jonothan all went to Steve’s house to work on a project. You invited Robin but she said she would prefer to work alone. That was… a first to say the least. The two of you loved your half work- half interest rambling sessions. Then cramming everything 5 minutes before the presentation. The two of you were inseparable. Jonathan interrupted your thoughts “What ideas do you all have for our film project?” Jonathan fiddled with his camera. Dustin pulled out a lot of VHS tapes “well, you see, I’ve collected THE BEST horror movies of all time. It being October and all.” Steve rolled his eyes, “now I’ve got an idea,” Steve placed a loose piece of ribbon on his neck and gave his best ‘Hollywood accent’ “A big picture about a handsome lead role, that’s me. Finding the love of his life! A semi-secluded loner named… Breddie!” He said, picking up a piece of toast and chewing it. He gestured to El, “and then! They find and adopt a witch!” Everyone huffed an rolled their eyes.
“Speaking of Witches,” You said, “What’s everyone dressing up as for Halloween?” You looked around the room, “Well me and the boys are dressing up as Star Wars character’s. I’m Han Solo of course.” Steve shrugged “probably somebody hot. Chicks dig werewolves right?… does Eddie like werewolves-?” Everyone laughed. Jonathan broke the lighthearted tone of the conversation “has anyone noticed Robin had been acting… weird lately.” By ‘everyone’ he meant you. You shook your head and asked “why do you think she’s being weird.” “Yeah, like, more weird than normal?” Steve chuckled.
☾(∩`-´)⊃━☆゚.*・。゚☽ The Ring.
Jonathan described many odd occurrences. Robin seemingly disappearing fully between crowds, being late for something but popping up behind us randomly, and lately she’s always been reading something. You couldn’t help but agree. “Once, she got me this beautiful but extremely expensive ring for our 1 year anniversary.” You flaunted the Snake engraved ring for a moment. “But Steve, you as much as anyone knows how much the two of you get paid. Most certainly not enough to afford something like this.” Steve nodded and gestured to Eleven. “What do you think kiddo?” El paused for a moment trying to find the words, “Witch.”
🕸️🕯Later 🕯🕸️
You all considered using Eleven’s powers to spy but decided against it. Primarily because if anything bad happened Max would knock you over the head with her skateboard.
“Jonathan?” ”yeah?” ”Do you think… Robin could be like… apart of a gang or something” He stopped dead in his tracks and gave the most humorous laugh. He almost fell over. “ROBIN BUCKLEY??” You rolled your eyes, “it could explain the money, and why she’s always so late.” Jonathan nodded. “Understandable, but yet again. It’s Robin ‘Give me the newest Cabbage Patch Kid doll’ Buckley.” The two of you laughed. You parted ways as you showed up. You looked up at the house and noticed a crash sound coming from the top floor, Robin’s room. You grabbed the key Robin hid under the mat and struggled to unlock the door. You heard something fall from behind you.
“Junior?” You peered at the Yellow eyes that seemed to speak to you somehow. You shuddered and continued unlocking the door. “Robin? Baby? Are you okay?!” You shouted walking up the steps. “Yeah I’m okay!! I just erm- dropped something! My Teddy Ruxbin! You know how loud those things are!” You sighed in relief to hear your girlfriend’s banter again. “Doll! You can come in!” You opened the door, Robin’s hair was a mess. She was sitting on her bed, her window open. You closed it, shivering “Love, it’s freezing outside! You really shouldn’t have your window open, here let me grab you a jacket.” You headed towards her closet and Robin shouted “Wait!” You stopped in your tracks and turned around. “I- um- I I got you something!” You tilted your head. She grabbed your hand and gently kissed your fingers, with her other hand she pulled out a box of VHS tapes. It read “The Addams Family”. You gasped happily, you were either busy with schoolwork or your job that you hadn’t been able to catch the show while it was on. “Well I saw this, the entire collection and I couldn’t stop thinking about my little Moonray,” she pulled you onto her lap. “I would say I’m Gomez and your Morticia. But honestly Nighteyes, you are much much more ravishing.” She pulled you into a kiss, her black lipstick staining your lips.
There was still one thought on your mind, Where did it even come from? Her bag was far too small to fit it. There was no lump in her blanket… and why was Y/N Junior on the roof.
🔮🧙🏻‍♀️☾TO BE CONTINUED🕯🌙🌕

wyd?
modern au, established relationship, i think nancy's gay
Steve’s on TikTok when the text comes in. He’s doing better lately, good enough that he can get baked by himself and not worry about spiraling. Instead he made a peanut butter marshmallow sandwich and listened to his most recent playlist all the way through like eight times and texted Robin for a while- she’s visiting family, lots of ‘Steve pls come rescue me pls ’- and now he’s on TikTok.
It’s not late-late. But it’s not early. And he knows Nancy and Jonathan are having issues- he heard about it from the kids who don’t get that gossip is not helpful to feelings- but he didn't know they went on a break. Until he gets the text.
10:46pm - 1 New Notification
Nancy Wheeler: Hey
Typing…
Nancy Wheeler: Haven't talked in a while. How are you?
Steve clicks the notif bar. He stares at the text. It’s not like he never talks to Nancy. She’s just not Baby <3 in his phone anymore. Hasn't been for a while. He used to wonder what Jonathan put her as in his phone.
Steve can scroll up to see previous texts- Hey i had a doctors appointment during third did you get the homework outline? And Lucas left his water bottle at our house! Mike has it with him
And, more recently: Happy Birthday! Hope it's a good one :)
But this feels different. This singular ‘hey’ in its own grey bubble kind of puts Steve on edge. He doesn't respond right away, figures he should text Robin to ask if he’s just being paranoid first but- shit she went to sleep didn't she. And while he’s typing out a “Hey when you wake up” message to Robin he gets another notif.
Nancy Wheeler: Jonathan and I are on a break
Then,
Nancy Wheeler: Sorry, I probably shouldn't be texting you haha. Just wanted some company i guess
Steve feels a hot flash of anger. Rolling in his stomach like lava. Jesus he’s too high to be this angry.
He picks up his phone again.
Types out “fuck you” and deletes it and then “thats understandable but maybe you should text one of your other friends” and then deletes it and then types out “why are you texting me we're not friends" and then deletes it and then-
Clicks back, scrolls down, and texts Billy.
You: R u still awake?
Steve gets a response within seconds.
Billy <3: aw do u miss me or smth?
Billy <3: gay
That makes Steve smile. Makes the anger cool down considerably, and he sits up a bit in bed.
You: Yes but also
You: Nancy texted me?
Billy <3: about what
Billy <3: about how she broke up with Jonathan?
You: H o w do you already know that
Billy <3: i know everything. Why’d she text you??
Steve gets another notif from Nancy. He doesn't want to open it.
Luckily, he doesn't have to right away. Billy calls him.
“No one’s home.” Is Billy's opener. “Speak freely.”
“Good evening to you too.” Steve says, relieved to have the sound of Billy’s voice to lean into.
“So what does Wheeler want?”
Steve’s thumb hesitates over the notif bar.
“She said her and Jonathan are on a break and she ‘wants company.’”
“Wow.” Steve can hear poorly concealed jealousy in Billy’s words. “That’s. Wow.”
“Don’t be j-”
“I’m not jealous.”
“Oookay.” Steve laughs a little. He still hasn't opened Nancy’s text.
“Are you going to respond?”
“No fucking way, man-” Steve starts, then another text.
Unread message: I need someone to talk to. I don’t know who else I could ask.
Steve’s brow furrows.
“What happened?” Comes Billy’s voice.
“She, uh.” Steve opens the chat finally. “Hang on.”
You: Hey
You: Seems like you're in a tough spot. Not sure I’m the right guy. Maybe you could talk about it with a closer friend?
Nancy: That’s just it.
Nancy: I don’t have any friends.
Nancy: I have no one else. Johnathon was the last person left I was close with and i fucking blew it. I have no idea what to do i'm lost and confused and i just really really could use someone to talk to.
Typing...
Nancy: Please
“Babe?” Billy again. “Yeah,” Steve exhales. “Nancy, uh. Sounds pretty bad actually.”
“She reeling you in with that act?”
“I don’t think it’s an act, Bills.” Steve sits up straighter. “Something’s wrong.”
He’s typing out a vague enough response when the next text comes in.
Nancy: I think I'm gay
Then-
Nancy: Can I call you?
I think I’m gay.
That’s. Okay. That’s… something. Something that kind of makes sense now that Steve thinks about it, connects a lot of dots Steve didn't know were floating around but.
Jesus, Nancy must be having a heart attack.
“Billy, I have to call you back.” Steve says, then realizes the kind of push back he’s going to get on that.
“Call me back?” High and mighty already. “You can't just ditch me with a ‘call you back’ when your ex is actively weedling her way-”
“She’s not weedling. She’s not doing well and she has no other friends.” Silence. “Please don’t pout-”
“I’m not pouting.”
“Aw,” Steve leans his head into the receiver a little. “If I say you look cute when you pout, will that hurt or help my case?”
“Hurt.”
“Ok, I promise I’ll call you back right after I talk to her.”
“You fucking better.”
Steve says “I love you” before he gets off the phone and is medium relieved to hear Billy say it back.
Steve calls Nancy. She takes a while to pick up. When she does, he can tell she’s been crying.
“You didn’t have to call.” Is the first thing she says. She sniffs right at the end.
“Seemed like you were having. A rough night.” Steve says. Her text hasn't fully sunk in, he’s thinking about all the times she called him crying. How they got more frequent right before the end.
“I shouldn't have bothered you, I’m sorry, you can go.” Nancy’s voice builds a little. She sounds frantic.
Steve can’t really feel soft feelings about Nancy cause all of them just piss him off or ice his blood but. He’s worried. “No, no it’s-” Then Steve hears the background noise. “Dude, are you driving?”
“I- w- yeah.” Nancy sounds a little defensive.
“Oh my god.”
“I just needed to clear my head! I know I shouldn’t have called it just…”
Steve steeled himself for the words he knew were about to come out of his mouth. No matter how much of a hothead Steve could be (not as much as Billy but still), he was still a total pushover about shit like this. “Do you. Want to come over?” Steve asked stiltedly. “If you're, you know, already driving around.”
Nancy sounded relieved when she said yes.
When Steve got outside to meet Nancy’s mom’s car’s headlights, it was raining.
“Hey,” was the first thing he said when she walked up.
Looking at Nancy doesn't do much to Steve anymore. Not the way it used to. Not the way looking at Billy does now.
Looking at Billy feels how Steve assumes people in the way-back-when felt when color TV was invented.
Nancy looks as washed out as Steve thinks she feels.
“Hi.”
“You wanna come in?”
Nancy hesitates. “I don’t. Want to impose.”
“It’s raining, Nance.”
She looks surprised, like she didn't notice. “Oh.” then. “Okay.”
Steve steps back as Nancy walks onto the smooth tile right in front of the front door. It’s quiet enough after the door closes Steve thinks he can hear her hair dripping onto the ground.
“So,” Steve says after a bit. “Did you-”
“I’m sorry.” Nancy says suddenly. But it’s not the panicked little “sorry’s” from earlier, it’s a single, earnest one.
“For what?” “Everything.” More tears are streaming down her cheeks now. “I know I shouldn't have bothered you, I didn’t- I wasn’t a good girlfriend. Or a good friend. I just. I thought maybe I would know who I was if someone else did, but I didn't. And I don’t have anyone else, and I remember when- when you told me you were bi when we were dating and I was weird about it but now i think I was just jealous- because- bec-” Nancy cut herself off, unable to keep going with the tears closing up her throat.
Steve swallowed pretty hard. “Because. You think, you’re gay?”
Nancy sat down on the floor.
“The floors all wet-”
“I know, Steve.” Nancy cut him off gently. He was familiar with the tone.
Steve looked at her, looked at the floor, and opted to sit next to her. The rain was hitting harder on the door behind them.
Nancy didn't seem like she had anything more to say. Steve tried to think of something to ask.
“Why, uh. Why do you think you are?”
“I don’t know if I am.” She said quickly.
“Why do you think you might be?”
She sighed, pushed the wet hair off her face. “You don’t have to talk to me about this. I figure it probably doesn't feel good to hear.”
Steve hadn't thought of that. If Nancy is gay, that means she probably wasn't ever actually into him. Not just after a while, but from ‘go,’ it wasn't the same for her.
“Not great.” Steve admitted. “But. It isn't about me.”
Nancy sighed again. “Why are you so nice?” She mumbled. “Both you and Jonathan.” Then she teared up again.
“I thought maybe.” Nancy started up after clearing her throat. “That I didn’t… feel as much because. I was just with the wrong person.” She glanced sideways, clearly feeling worse with every word. “But. I didn’t. I just. I felt the same. Like something was missing.”
“You always feel like that?” Steve was kind of surprised. “Like, with every relationship?”
“Romantic ones, yeah.”
The rain got louder again. “I was…” Nancy fought to say the next words. “I didn’t always feel like that.”
“With us?” Steve hopes a little. “Or with Jonathan?”
Nancy speaks a little softer, like it will soften the blow to Steve, to herself. “...With Barb.”
Billy was going to give Steve so much shit for falling for Robin and Nancy since it sounded like they were both gay. He already had gotten shit about Robin. “This is a problem unique to bisexuals.” had been Billy’s quip.
Nancy talked a bit more easily after that one admission. About why Barb's death hit her so hard. About why she felt bad for hurting Steve, how confused she was, how alone.
How she pushed everyone away except whoever held the position of boyfriend because she didn't ever feel right around people. But boyfriend seemed. Normal.
Steve was pretty familiar with feeling like he Should Do whatever was ‘normal.’ His parents weren’t exactly pleased when ‘being bi’ turned out to be an actual thing and not just a family conversation they could keep pretending they didn't have.
Nancy was crying again. Said she was sorry again.
Steve hugged her.
It was pretty awkward. He was trying not to touch her too much and her hair got his sweater wet, but she tucked her face against his chest like she always used to.
Something about that clicked. How hugs had always felt closer for them than kisses. How maybe they had been meant to be friends, and just misread the signs.
Maybe they could be friends now. Maybe.
Nancy pulled away and wiped her nose. “Thank you.”
“Yeah.”
Steve checked his phone to let Nancy fix her face a little and then winced at the sheer volume of messages from Billy that popped up on his screen.
“What’s up?’ Nancy asked, leaning back over.
“Oh, just Billy.”
“Oh god,” Nancy grimace. “He can’t have been pleased I came over.”
Steve opened the messages. “He’s not. But I told him it was important.” “You can. Tell him.” Nancy said tentatively. “If you want. About what we talked about. About me.” Billy was gonna get a kick out of this. But Steve felt more somber about it than Billy probably would.
It was weird.
He’d been in Nancy’s shoes. But he’d also been completely in love with her. So at once he was hurt and sympathetic.
But he also felt. Better.
Something about the two of them, Steve and Nancy, always seemed. Unfinished.
This was probably the close out they needed.
“I should call Billy back.”
“Of course.” Nancy looked almost embarrassed. “I can go-”
“Nah, stay a bit.” Steve was standing up, unlocking his phone to a slew of “wheeler has been on my shit list from day ONE” and “i know you’d never cheat like i know that i'm not crazy but my therapist said.” Makes Steve smile at his phone. “‘I'll make you tea or something."

Could it be? Chapter 7 (JJ x Reader)
JJ x Reader
CH.1 - CH.2 - CH.3 - CH.4 - CH.5 - CH.6
Description: She has a crush on JJ, but he has always seen her as another one of the “dudes”, or  at least that’s what she thinks so she just doesn’t even try anymore, until things start to shift between the two of them. (A/N: I’M NOT GOOD AT DESCRIPTIONS BUT THESE IS JUST WHAT I WOULD LOVE TO HAPPEN IN OUTER BANKS WITH JJ)
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
CHAPTER 7
You woke up to an empty bed.
JJ wasn’t by your side and he was nowhere to be seen in your room. But what surprised you the most was probably the fact you didn’t feel like a train had ran you over. Your head was pounding a little but that was about it, no other symptoms from a bad hangover.
You grabbed your phone and saw a couple of texts from Sarah, asking if you were alright and if you’d woken up yet.
You went to your bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth and numbly stared at yourself for a few minutes, wondering what exactly had happened last night.
You remembered pieces of it, but not everything.
What you did remember perfectly well was your little heartfelt moment with JJ and how he let it die out of nowhere. You felt embarrassed to say the least, but you were proud of yourself for not having opened your mouth to spill your feelings out.
You made your way downstairs to make yourself a quick breakfast and then go back to bed. You did not want to go outside today but your mind kept reminding you about JJ and you couldn’t help but wonder why he’d leave so early in the morning.
His bags were still in your room so you knew he would eventually come back anytime but you were an over-thinker, which didn’t help much.
As you were about to go inside your kitchen, your soul nearly left your body when you noticed someone sitting on your living room, but you felt like breathing again when you recognised the curly hair of your friend.
“Jesus Kiara,” you breathed out, “how did you get in?”
“JJ.”
“How long have you been here for?” You went to sit down next to her.
“Like an hour,” Kiara ran a hand through her locks, her hair smelling of fruity shampoo, “but if I’m being honest with you, after last night I though you were going to be dead all day.”
“Surprisingly I’m alive,” you chuckled, “guess my drinking game is getting stronger.”
“Yeah I’m not so sure about that.” She raised an eyebrow at you before letting out a laugh.
“What’s so funny?” You pretended to be shocked but ended up laughing too.
“What was even going through your head last night?”
“Man I don’t even know.”
You shrugged and made your way to the kitchen to make yourself a cup of coffee, Kie following you behind.
“Did JJ mention where he was going?”
You saw Kie smile mischievously after hearing your question.
“Is there a reason for that evil smile you’re throwing at me?”
“Is there a reason why you’re so worried about JJ?
You opened your mouth as if you were offended by her question, not really knowing what to say and trying to hide the blush coming to your face.
“I’m not worried,” you struggled to speak, “I just want to know why he left, that’s all.”
“Mhmm..”
“What I’m serious! I would ask the same if it had been John B or Pope or Sarah or anyone!”
“Right.” She nodded her head as she examined her nails.
“Kie.” You sighed at your friend.
“He said he was going to John B’s.”
“See? Was it so hard to tell me that?”
You made her a cup of tea and sat down to drink your coffee and eat your poorly made peanut butter sandwich.
“We’re best friends, aren’t we?” Kie said, taking a small sip of her green tea.
“Of course we are,” you grabbed her hand, “what kind of question is that?”
“Then tell me about JJ.”
“What do you me-“
“Cut the bullshit Y/N!” She desperately ran her hand through her hair, “You were crying about him last night!”
“I was?!”
Your cheeks began to burn as you tried to remember the events from last night and silently praying you hadn’t done something embarrassing.
“You don’t remember, do you?”
“I just remember waking up here once JJ brought me back and taking some shots at the party but I can’t really remember what happened between that.”
Kie shook her head and chuckled before staring at you with her motherly look.
“Oh god what did I do?” You covered your mouth with your hands and Kie laughed at your anxious face.
“Calm down,” she giggled, “you could’ve done worse.”
“What did I do?”
“Well you cried, which is something we’re all used to you doing when you’re drunk,” she looked intriguingly at the ceiling, “you practically screamed you wanted to get laid.”
“Oh god.” You covered your face with your hands.
“You threw yourself at some tourist to make JJ jealous and then argued with him about the fact that he sleeps with any random girl he sees,” she used her fingers to count your actions, “oh and you also threw up in front of everyone.”
“Okay, alright, good.” You shook your head and worryingly stared at your friend.
“But hey, you were not so bad.”
“I mean I do remember flirting with the tourist a little but I can’t really remember much.”
“But you do remember what made you do all that.” Her words came out more like a statement than a question.
You just stared at your friend like a guilty puppy and slowly took a sip from your coffee.
“You’re too smart for me to lie about this.”
“Yeah I am.” She nodded and stared at you waiting for you to continue.
“Why are you staring at me like that? What exactly do you want me to say?”
“You like him, right?”
“Yeah, maybe.” You stared at your sandwich, trying to avoid eye contact with Kie.
“How long has this been going on?”
“I mean,” you took a deep breath, trying to think about when you’d actually started having feelings for JJ, “I think since about a few months ago.”
“A few months ago?” She opened her mouth in shock, “So you were crushing on JJ while you were dating Rafe?”
“Well considering the fact that I had stopped wanting to be with Rafe for like four months before we broke up, then yeah.”
“I knew it.” She smiled to herself.
“What do you mean you knew it?” You crossed your arms, “I never showed any signs.”
“The two of you are always flirting and you do show a little more appreciation towards him than the rest of the Pogues.”
“First of all,” you argued, “JJ is always flirting with everyone so it’s more of a friendly flirting going on.”
“Yeah, right, sure.” Kie muttered.
“And I care about all of you equally, it just happens to be that everyone is already coupled up so JJ and I are left to hang out more, that’s all.”
“Why don’t you try something?”
“Are you kidding? I’m not trying to be the joke of the group, thank you.”
You grabbed your empty cup of coffee and and washed it while Kie gulped down what was left of her tea.
“I’m just saying,” she went on, “I’ve seen the way he looks at you and I don’t know, something could happen.”
“Yeah well, that’s a road I’m not yet ready to explore.”
“I think you should. He could use some of that real love you know?”
“Kie..” You took a deep breath and turned to stare at your friend, “Let’s not talk about this anymore.”
“Fine.”
“Promise me you won’t tell, please.”
Kie nodded and helped you clean the rest of the dishes before you made her wait downstairs while you changed into some decent clothes. Kie convinced you on going to John B’s place to spend the rest of the day since everyone but Sarah, were going to hang there.
“Look who’s here,” John B’s face lit up as soon as he saw yours, “my favourite drunk.”
“Shut up.” You shook your head and walked inside his place, your eyes immediately spotting JJ sitting down on the coach drinking a beer.
“How are you alive after all those tequila shots?” Pope asked.
“Well, she did throw up everything during the party.” John B added.
“What was all your crying about though? You scared me.” Pope went on.
You grunted and covered your face with your hands, sitting down next to Pope.
“Ugh, give me a break.” You muttered.
“It was fun though, great party.” John B nodded and so did Pope.
You noticed JJ silently taking sips of his beer, avoiding any possible eye contact with you. You shot a look at Kiara who was already staring at you, letting you know she knew what you were thinking and nodding her head as if to give you permission.
“Hey JJ,” you stood up, “can we talk?”
You felt your heart speed up as everyone remained silent and JJ looked up to you, you could feel your hands had starting to shake right there.
“Yeah sure.”
You and JJ made your way outside the house after Kiara broke the awkward silence and tension inside the house. You sat down on the grass and JJ copied you.
“I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me last night.” You broke the silence between the two of you.
“Nothing to thank me for,” he played with the leaves on the grass, “that’s what friends are for.”
Friends. Right.
“Yeah of course,” you bit your lip nervously, “I’m also sorry for the way I acted last night, you know.. Kie told me everything.”
“She did?” He finally decided to stare at your eyes.
“Yeah,” you sighed, “I didn’t remember what happened last night so when sh-“
“You don’t remember?”
You raised your eyebrows at his sudden interest on what you were saying.
“I do now, sort of.”
He nodded and opened his mouth as if he were about to say something, but immediately closed it.
“Why are you acting so weird with me?” You raised your voice a little.
“I’m not.”
“You are,” you changed your position and sat down in front of him, giving him no choice but to look at you, “you left in the morning without telling me a word and when I arrived here you didn’t even look at me and now you’re acting as if you don’t want to talk to me!”
“God Y/N!” Now he was raising his voice too, “I didn’t wake you up because I figured you’d want to rest because of your hangover and everything else you’re saying is just you overthinking it as always!”
“I’m not overthinking it JJ,” you didn’t take your eyes off his, “you did the same thing last night!”
“What thing?!”
“When we almost kissed!”
You saw his eyes widen as soon as the word “kissed” left your mouth and you mentally slapped yourself for bringing it up but you knew it was needed to.
“Yes JJ, I do remember what happened last night alright? And I also remember how you left me on the floor and acted all serious after it happened, almost as if you were repulsed by it.”
“Repulsed?!” He raised his eyebrow at you.
“I said what I said.” You argued.
“Y/N you were drunk!” He raised his hands on the air desperately.
“No shit really? I didn’t know that!” You said sarcastically.
“I wasn’t going to take advantage of you!”
His words made the ones you were about to say stop from coming out.
You didn’t know what to say so you just stared at him.
“It’s alright Y/N,” he lowered his voice as he noticed you were tongue-tied, “we all do stuff we wouldn’t do when sober while we’re drunk.”
“JJ I-“
“Don’t worry Y/N. If you’re worried about me telling the guys about what nearly happened last night, just know that I won’t.” He smiled and the smile confirmed you JJ was back to normal with you.
“So we’re good?” You asked.
“We are.” He winked and helped you stand up from the ground, taking your hand and walking you towards John B’s house.
These mixed signs were going to drive you crazy. Did he mean he would’ve kissed you if you hadn’t been so drunk? Was it just the heat of the moment? Was it a pity move? What even was that?
As soon as you walked inside John B’s house, an overly excited Sarah ran into you.
“Why weren’t you answering my calls?” She had a worried yet happy look on her face.
“I’m sorry I didn’t bring my phone, but what’s going on?”
“We need to go buy our dresses together, I’m calling dips on the color green.” She smiled and you looked over at JJ who was equally confused as you.
“Dresses for what?”
Sarah turned to face you, a puzzled look on her face.
“Our families are throwing a party for the business deal they just closed,” she explained, “as soon as your parents come back from their trip of course.”
“Why do they need to throw a party for that?”
“You know how they are,” she rolled her eyes, “and some important business people are also coming to celebrate and stuff. I don’t really understand but I know it’s a huge thing.”
“Are we invited or is it only for Kooks?” JJ added and Sarah bit her lip.
“I mean it’s a family business thing but I’m sure we can manage to le-“
“I’m joking Sarah, I’m not trying to start shit with Kooks again.”
“Of course you’re invited. All of you.” You added and the Pogues just stared at you, knowing they weren’t going to be wanted at the party but not wanting to argue with you.
After everyone got back to talking nonsense and drinking, Sarah pulled you over to John B’s room to organise your dress shopping day.
“Do we really have to do this now? My parents aren’t even here yet and I-“
“No it’s not about that.” Her face was serious now.
“Then?”
“It’s about my brother.”
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath.
“What about him?”
“My parents and your parents sort of think you’re still dating him.”
You raised an eyebrow at her and chuckled.
“That’s bullshit, my mom knows I broke up with Rafe.”
“Well apparently my stupid brother told my parents and your dad that you’re still dating and now you have to present yourselves as a couple during the party.”
You laughed louder, but the feeling of anger was consuming you.
“That’s stupid,” you said, “I’m not doing that. Plus how does us dating have anything to do with our parents’ business?”
“Nothing! That’s exactly what I told Rafe but he ju-“
“Doesn’t want to disappoint your dad, of course,” you sighed, “I’m going to have to talk to him.”
“Are you sure about that?” She raised an eyebrow at you.
“Do I have any other choice?”
“Well, you’re right,” she said, “I’m sorry about my stupid brother.”
“Hey don’t apologise for that,” you grabbed her hand, “I’m the one who dated him.”
