me: sleepily vibing at 1am

my brain: on page 511 of city of lost souls magnus found out that alec tried to find a way to take away his immortality without saying anything to him first and they broke up only for magnus to be captured by sebastian and trapped on an demon planet for most of the next book and have alec be mega concerned for him even though they weren’t together anymore and the thought of alec was the only thing keeping magnus alive and then when alec finally comes and finds him the first thing Magnus says to him is “oh my alec, you’ve been so worried, I did not know.”

me: I haven’t read that book in like 4 years what the fuck

#book shadowhunters is far superior to show and movie shadowhunters #mainly because they yeeted the plot right out the window #also jace #they ruined my jace #I’m sorry domenic Sherwood was not my jace they were closer with jcb in the movie #I had such high hopes for that show #and it done screwed me over #I did start rereading cob recently and I didn’t realize jace is Such an asshole in the beginning #but he redeems himself #and that’s such a beautiful transition he goes through #the fact that I latched onto Jace when I was 13 says a lot about me #but I think I’m like book 2/3 jace not book 1 jace anymore #which is good #the real star was will #UGH WILLIAM HERONDALE #I love him so much #he was so dramatic #I’m sure if I reread the series now I’ll find so many things wrong with it #but those books #they’re my comfort books #cracking open one of them is like curling up under a blanket #esp new ones #cause I’m like ahh what did my little band of idiots get up to this time #anyway I never talk about shadowhunters #but that is literally my favorite book series #and I could go on for hours about what it means to me #and also for hours about everything the tv show got wrong #saph screams
