“There’s a fight happening at the park.”
“I am at the park?”
“Aren’t your spidey senses tingling?”
“Shut up–oh…I might have been preoccupied with the—”
“With the tingles Dani causes, yeah, yeah, it’s by the fountain.”
“Oh my god, look it’s a squirrel!” The girl squealed, shaking the latter beside her who pried away the hands that gripped onto her arm with a deep sigh.
“Yeah, I can see,” Haerin grumbled while fixing her shirt.
“Y/n look–” Her joyous voice came to a halt as she turned around and the said girl was no longer there where she had been. “Where’s Y/n?” This made Haerin turn away from the tree they had stopped by and her eyes scanned the park.
The sun was shining brightly with nothing but a gentle breeze to cool everyone off together with the shadows.
Danielle walked past Haerin with a frown, thinking she had lost her other friend among the people walking in the park. “It’s not the first time she just disappears.” The latter mumbled and followed after the girl who hummed and took out her phone.
“I will call her–Wait here just in case.” She looked back and received a simple nod from Haerin who stopped under the shadow of a tree. Her eyes scanned the area before watching the other girl who walked completely engrossed in her phone.
Danielle squinted her eyes, trying to fix her brightness and cover her phone to see anything all while trying to head for the nearest shadow to make life easier for herself.
The second she got it right she looked for the girl’s number which wasn’t hard to find; all while she wondered how Y/n always managed to disappear or get lost so easily.
She was confused, to say the least, seeing how the girl would avoid her at times or trail behind them. Quite often Danielle made sure all of her friends felt included, but as she did so she rarely succeeded in including herself as the centre of Y/n’s attention. However, the few times that she was–
“Watch out!” She looked up from her phone with wide eyes just as she had managed to press call. The sound of the fountain she was near was just a mere background noise that was drowned out when she finally paid attention to her surroundings; realising that a lot more than the chirping of birds and water was sounding around her.
Danielle yelped at the body that collided with her, shutting her eyes, the phone that was in her hand no longer there. There was a brief swoosh of air, her feet no longer on the ground, but she could feel herself falling until she collided with the same body that grunted right under her. The impact of her fall was muffled only making her breath hitch.
She raised her head from the body whose heart was about to thump right out of its ribcage—still feeling it thrash under her palms, something was buzzing too—Danielle went mute at the person right under her. It was none other than the local hero.
“Here’s your phone; are you alright?” She took her phone–the call went to voicemail and that faint buzzing stopped–trying to find words but it was close to impossible as her own heart was pounding from the adrenaline the action had caused her.
“Yeah, I’m alright.” She managed to get out, wanting to find the next words to thank her hero correctly, but she yelped once again. “Not the head–” Her body was flipped over, shutting her eyes tightly at the slight impact of her back against hitting the grass, however, her head was well protected by a hand.
This time she opened her eyes and flinched. “Oh come on!” The hero exclaimed at the object that had been thrown their way, hitting the Spidey’s back.
“Five, six–” Danielle’s mouth was left agape at the hero who did a front handspring over her, “pick up sticks,” and then swung–with web–what was a thick branch, “seven, eight, lay them straight,” before launching it at the group of guys who got hit like bowling pins, some trying to scramble away.
“Why are you always daydreaming!?” Haerin was the one pulling the girl up from the grass and away from the fight scene.
“I’m saved as Y/n/n with a red heart in Dani’s contacts.”
“Great Y/n, but you’re literally in the middle of a fight.”
“She’s so pretty!”
“You’re hopeless.”
“I will be anything for her!”
“It all happened so quickly too!” Danielle exclaimed as they walked through the hallways of the college. The girl was so engulfed in the story she told that nothing else would reach her ears.
“I didn’t even notice the fight and suddenly there’s a commotion happening and one of them was about to crash right into me–one second I’m on the ground, the next I’m lifted from it–Spidey swoops in and saves me!”
“We believe you.” Hanni groaned as the girl wouldn’t stop talking about it.
“That’s not the point,” Danielle whined as she looked over her friends, her eyes momentarily landed on the girl who was trailing after them in the back, Y/n. She sighed and shook her head, looking back at Minji and Hanni who were closest to her.
“The point is that I didn’t even get to thank her.” She reasoned, feeling grateful, but somewhat bummed out that she couldn’t even thank the hero who saved her a few days ago.
“Plus Haerin and Y/n were there at the park with me so I have my proof–” She turned around and stretched out her arms to point at Haerin and Y/n, but ultimately stopped which made the whole group stop. “Where’s Y/n?” Her eyes left the spot where Y/n would be and they moved to Haerin who was about to open her mouth but was cut off by Minji.
“She always disappears into thin air.”
“The same thing happened yesterday when that fight happened,” Danielle mumbled and turned on her heels as they continued to walk through the hallway.
“The cat wouldn’t stop clawing at my arm.”
Sakura threw a glance at the girl, tilting her head to try and have her at the correct angle as the Y/n hung upside down from the ceiling of their dorm. The curtains were down, the room was dim, lit up by Sakura’s setup who was busy fixing up the small tears in the spider suit.
“Also!” She clicked her tongue at how loud Y/n got all of a sudden. The older girl hummed and flinched again at the loud clatter, looking over to her side to see the girl standing up from the floor and fixing the bin that got tipped over after the fall. “I’m quite sure Haerin knows…” Y/n finished and chewed on her nails as she walked to Sakura and looked over her shoulder.
“Knows what?”
“My secret.” Y/n whispered right into her friend's ear which made Sakura press it against her shoulder at how it tickled.
“She doesn’t.”
The younger girl stood up straight and stretched her back, “I’m telling you, she knows more than she lets on.” She sighed at the feeling and looked back down at her roommate who turned in the swivel chair. The black with red details suit back to its normal self in her hands.
“You should get some rest,” Sakura suggested, dismissing Y/n’s suspicions while handing the suit over to her.
The girl hummed. “I asked Yunjin to grab me a coffee on her way back, I’m heading to the public library to print some stickers. I made new designs.” Y/n explained as she moved behind the divider to slip the suit on and have it under her clothes.
“Why not the school’s library?” Sakura questioned as she turned back to her computer.
“Believe it or not; the librarian has given me a ban.”
“I believe it whole-heartedly.” She rolled her eyes as Y/n blew a raspberry and grabbed her backpack just as there was a knock on the door.
The girl paid no mind to anyone around her as headphones rested atop her ears, printing the stickers she would leave around the city when swinging around.
It was calm and she hadn’t bothered to return to her friends after disappearing to help out someone’s cat. It wasn’t like she didn’t want to hang out with them, the problem was Danielle.
Well…Maybe Y/n was the problem because she forgot how to act correctly whenever Danielle smiled at her and just did anything around her. She couldn’t help but get lost in her every single time and it was difficult to keep up with anything else going on around her.
It had become a little problem when danger arose and the star of Y/n’s orbit was around.
The girl quickly turned around, grabbing hold of the hand that was about to touch her shoulder and her eyes widened. With Danielle’s wrist still in her hold she pulled down her headphones with her free hand before quickly letting go of the latter’s hand.
“Sorry!” She exclaimed and cowered after as it made people turn their heads in the silent library.
Y/n quickly reached for her phone to pause the music which was sounding through the headphones and looked at the two girls in front of her; Danielle let out a breathless chuckle.
“I tried to call your name at first.” Y/n pursed her lips, feeling how her face felt a lot hotter, not just her face, but her whole body. Was it the suit underneath? No because it never got hot in it.
The sound of the stickers printing was what truly brought her back and her eyes landed on Haerin who was right behind Danielle.
Their eyes met and Y/n felt a twinge of paranoia; both girls squinted their eyes at each other and Y/n’s gaze got a bit more intense almost challenging before Haerin frowned.
‘Oh no, does she know?’
“Anyway–” Danielle was the one to break the silence and intense…staredown? She had no clue what it was, but it eased as Y/n’s eyes landed on her, making her smile a little bigger than she usually did. “You disappeared earlier.”
“Uhm, my roommate–I took her notes by accident instead of my own.” Y/n came up with a quick lie, nodding along to her words to make them seem more believable.
“Oh okay, so we were talking earlier and I thought it would be better to ask in person,” Danielle continued to talk to the girl whose eyes were glimmering. Y/n was like water in the latter’s presence; glimmering anytime the sun appeared and warming right up for the whole day.
‘You should probably be listening, but her hair then her eyes, there’s just something about her… Wow, Sakura would be disappointed at this behaviour.’
“Uh-huh.” Y/n nodded, trying her best to snap back into listening to the girl in front of her.
“We’re heading out on Saturday to this café and then we thought of heading to the movies–”
This time Y/n snapped out of it at the shift around her that made it tingle at the back of her head, the hairs on her neck standing up. As if on queue her phone started buzzing; Sakura.
The loud sirens that were approaching made the two girls look behind them and by the time they looked back at Y/n all that was left were a few stickers that were still being printed.
“There’s a car chase, actually headed right towards the public library where you are.”
“I’m telling you Haerin knows–Holy!”
“They drove into the building.”
“I can tell–the zipper of my hoodie is stuck.”
“Just leave it.”
“Right, good idea!”
The loud sound of glass breaking shook up the whole library, shrieks and panicked cries mixed in with the already loud volume of sirens and sizzling of what was a reeking car motor. Amidst the chaos and people trying to evacuate, the course of the tall bookshelves was yelling timber.
It seemed to not warn the two girls right under them quickly enough though. Danielle barely managed to make a sound from the fear, already grasping onto Haerin to try and get away from the falling shelves. However, their sense of orientation was extremely off in a moment of pure distress.
“Ready, quite not steady, and go!” A squeak and a grunt were all that was heard before the numerous thuds of shelves falling like dominos followed, leaving nothing but clouds of dust in the air.
Danielle shut her eyes tightly–unsure if she was dead or alive–while hugging the firm yet somehow comforting body. The wind gushed against her skin and she felt the pull of gravity before her toes felt the ground and she opened her eyes.
“Everything alright?”
She swallowed, her knees almost giving up from the intensity of the adrenaline, once again being met by the local superhero. However, her eyes fell on the black zip-up hoodie, it was so oddly familiar, that it caused her deja vu and she wondered if a book had hit her head after all. It felt like she had seen it just a second ago, the black hoodie with a few red stars stitched onto it which was half zipped up. She was too shaken up to put a finger on it though.
“Yeah?” She said, however, she did sound quite unsure as they stood now on the second level of the library by the fire escape staircase. Her eyes trailed up the slightly taller figure, the local Spidey tilted her head in confusion and leaned her face in slightly closer.
“Did anything hit your head?” “She’s fine, let’s go already!” Haerin impatiently complained as she was far too scared to stay any longer in the library after almost dying and then flying through the air.
She grabbed hold of Danielle’s arm to pull her away, but the latter stopped. “Wait!” She finally came back to her senses and looked at the person who saved her.
The words were right at the tip of her tongue; wanting nothing more than to utter the words thank you. However, Haerin was too impatient as she kept on trying to drag the girl towards the exit that was being held open.
“It’s literally–” Danielle gasped, widening her eyes at the web that was shot at her friend, quite literally gluing her mouth shut and making her stumble.
“Cats don’t talk. It will dissolve in an hour or so, be safe, cya later, alligator…” The hero dove right back to the first level of the library and Danielle watched with a defeated look on her face.
‘You’re so lame…Okay, but does she know? Dani is so cute though–’
“Not the printer!”
“That was so scary.” Danielle let out a breath, finally being able to breathe properly after forgetting to do it correctly due to the shock. Those near-death situations were taking a toll on her and she had yet to thank the person who had saved her each of those times.
“Ugh, did any get in my hair?”
She looked away from the distance of the campus grounds where they were sitting on a bench to reflect on what had happened. Her eyes landed on Haerin who hadn’t been pleased at all despite being saved.
“But also so cool, she’s kind of cute.” The girl mumbled as she shook her head, forgetting what Haerin had asked.
Danielle’s thoughts were swinging through her head with no direction, she was trying to connect the web, but it was quite literally impossible because she had no clue where to start. Nothing made sense.
“First off, nothing cool or cute with what she did to me and second; why are you so obsessed with her?” Haerin complained and angrily leaned back against the bench while taking out her phone to check if she looked fine.
“It’s like white knight syndrome or whatever it’s called.” The younger girl added and put her phone away before looking at her friend who looked right back at her with a frown.
“It’s not, she saved me, I wanted to say thank you,” Danielle argued as she didn’t want anything else from the local hero. Just a small thank you.
“Yeah, but where’s Y/n?” That seemed to be a very common question.
She parted her lips and looked at the lock screen of her phone; a message popped up right as she did. “I just got a text from her.” It was such a normal occurrence that she learned not to be as worried whenever the girl disappeared because somehow Y/n always ended up fine when she checked back to Danielle.
She couldn’t lie and say that she didn’t get a little sombre whenever the girl just disappeared. It always made her wonder if Y/n really had emergencies or was looking for ways to escape her.
Has Danielle done something wrong? She sighed and opened the text, but despite those little worries she still smiled.
Danielle looked down at her phone, she had been preoccupied with her thoughts rather than paying the usual attention she would to her friends.
She was expecting a text from Y/n with another excuse because those weren’t unusual just like her leaving. It was hard to figure out what the problem was when Y/n was more of a mystery than anything most of the time.
Maybe Danielle was reading too much into it?
The little bell above the door jingled, making the conversation stop for a second and Danielle looked up with hope that was nothing but crushed when it wasn’t Y/n.
“Sorry!” Y/n exclaimed, running through the busy street with people.
The girl glanced down at her phone, 20 minutes late, it could be worse. It had been a long and busy night, by the time she arrived at the dorm the sun was coming up and by the time she fell asleep her alarm started going off. Y/n had ignored Sakura’s advice to cancel and stay in to sleep; she couldn’t miss the opportunity to be with Danielle.
She fixed the backpack that was sliding off her shoulder and took the last turn, finally arriving at the door of the café. Y/n stopped for a second, looking inside to see her group of friends already there.
Her eyes stayed fixated on the girl who was the definition of a sunflower the way she always looked at the bright side of things.
Danielle looked less bright this time though.
The girl pushed the door open and made it inside, clearing her throat and gazing towards the floor at the attention it got her. However, she didn’t miss how Danielle smiled towards her when her head turned.
“Sorry for being late.” She apologised like she usually got to do.
“Don’t worry about it, the movie starts in an hour so you have time.” Hanni was the one to speak and Y/n nodded, removing her backpack before trying as casually as possible to take a seat beside Danielle. It was like she forgot how to control her body around the girl, her whole body tingled as she took her seat and took a deep breath.
She watched the girl that had been late who was now sitting and drinking a second coffee. Well, Danielle was observant, at least when it came to Y/n, she somehow caught on to the small changes in her. It wasn’t hard for her to tell that the girl who was sitting right beside her–their knees occasionally brushing, making them both freeze up–was exhausted.
She felt a bit too shy to straight up ask if Y/n was fine, especially in front of the rest. The girl cared, but she was worried that it would be too obvious.
How stupid could she be? Y/n was her friend, she shouldn’t feel nervous about asking simple questions, or be nervous around her at all. It wasn’t how she felt around her other friends.
Yeah, Danielle liked to play coy with herself.
She listened in on the conversation Y/n was having with the rest all while gathering some courage to pull Y/n into a conversation just with her once they would be done. However, she would second guess herself because the girl beside her who was close to falling asleep would always avoid her or just leave with no word.
“Is the cake good?” It seemed to bring Danielle out of her thoughts, realising that she was overthinking once again. Y/n beat her to it and maybe the girl didn’t mind her in the end. The second Y/n would talk to Danielle she’d forget her worries and feel the jitters spark her up to talk.
“Oh, yeah…Do you want some?” She asked as she looked down at the piece of cake that she had forgotten about midway because of how she lost herself.
Y/n nodded her head, forgetting words as she was already stuttering in her body language unsure of what to do. Was she supposed to reach for the cake?
Her eyes watched Danielle who pushed it closer and Y/n was about to reach her hand for the fork, however, the latter beat her to it. Her eyes wandered, trying to look at Danielle who was looking at her, but she only could hold eye contact for a second and not any longer.
‘Take a bite and act cool…You’re anything, but cool though.’
Y/n had a feeling she would melt from the heat running up to her ears as she let Danielle feed her. The cake was sweet, but Y/n couldn’t help but think about how much sweeter the girl beside her was as she smiled at her.
“I was worried you wouldn’t show up, you know?” Did that mean that Danielle liked having Y/n around? That she noticed when she wasn’t present? It could be a friendly thing though, right?
‘You’re so bad at reading words.’
“Sorry, I was up studying and missed my alarm.” Y/n lied, she couldn’t tell the girl the truth. She couldn’t tell her that all those times she left her without a word was because she was more than just Y/n; the girl who rode her skateboard into Danielle on the first day of college.
It made a shiver run across her body; maybe friends were all they should be. Y/n couldn’t provide Danielle with a sun 24/7 because she would always come and go. The girl beside her deserved a sun and more, all Y/n could give was the dust she left behind her every time she disappeared.
“It’s fine, I’m happy you showed up in the end–” Danielle frowned when Y/n abruptly stood up from her chair, it caught everyone’s attention at the table.
“Sorry! I have to take this,” she quickly excused herself, not waiting for another word as she grabbed her stuff and was already out the door.
Danielle felt herself deflate once more as her head started to grasp at any possible straws as to why Y/n always left her behind.
“There was a robbery at a corner store, he is heading your way right now.”
“Okay…”
“Are you alright?”
“Dani probably deserves better than me.”
“Why would you say that?”
“She deserves someone who can be there for her all the time, I can’t.”
“Y/n–”
What was peaceful yet somewhat gloomy for Danielle only seemed to turn worse when the door to the quiet café burst open. “Everyone get on the ground!” The sight of a man nothing more than paranoid and with a firearm was enough to cause chaos among the customers who ducked to the floor when the man pointed at them.
“Oh no!” Hanni cried out as the four girls found themselves on the floor, trying to hide under the table and stay out of sight.
“Shut up,” Minji warned as they had yet to have the gun pointed their way and seeing how the man was paranoid, anything could go wrong.
“I just bought these jeans.” The shorter girl complained.
“Spider-woman, she’s here somewhere, I saw her!” The man exclaimed, revealing the cause of his paranoia. “I will hurt someone if she tries anything.”
“Am I the only one who finds it weird that–” Haerin tried to say something, only to have Minji cover her mouth, shushing her the same way she had done with Hanni.
Danielle thought she would grow used to it by now, but it wasn’t pleasant this time either when she was in danger. It seemed to be everywhere she went lately and each time she was more worried about Y/n than herself; what if she ran back inside? The man would fire right away, wouldn’t he?
Her eyes scanned around the place, her phone was still atop the table and she tried as subtly as possible to reach for it. It seemed though that Minji was as paranoid as the man with a gun; it was quite valid, but still.
“Stop it, he’s gonna see you.”
“I need my phone.”
“What for? We’re all about to die.” Minji argued with the girl, trying to pull her back down and under the table where they hadn’t been spotted yet.
“Oh my God, I don’t wanna die.” Hanni cried.
“Look at what you did,” Danielle complained, trying to divert Minji’s attention to Hanni who was about to start crying. “I need it to–”
“What’re you two doing!?” Both girls flinched and tried to retreat right back to cower away from the man. Haerin clicked her tongue at Hanni who was close to climbing onto her to try and hide.
“Nothing good sir!” Minji squeaked out, widening her eyes as he made his way towards them.
“Throw your phones away.” He ordered them, Hanni and Minji were the first ones to slide their phones over to the man's feet.
“You two, your phones.” Haerin was next when he pointed the firearm her way, but Danielle was stubborn. All she wanted to do was send a text to warn the girl who could show up any second.
“Give him the damn phone.” They bickered, trying to pry it away from her hold.
“Noo.” She whined, but it got snatched by none other than the man himself who tossed it to the side.
“You.” “Me?” Minji pointed at herself when he pointed at her. “Get up.”
“Well, I think I'd rather sit here and–” “I said get up!” Her arm got grabbed, her other arm slipping out of Hanni’s grasp who was still hiding behind Haerin.
“Okay, but you’re actually hurting my arm.” Minji pointed out, pointing at the hand that was gripping her arm quite tightly.
“Are you all making fun of me!?” The man snapped and another wave of panicked gasps and cries echoed through the café when the firearm was pointed right at the girl; holding her at gunpoint.
Danielle tried to look for a rational solution to this. Where were the cops? She looked around while her friends tried to reason with the criminal. Minji looked like she was about to pass out.
Where was Spider-woman?
For whatever reason, she looked up with a frown and got her answer when she saw the figure through the closed ventilation. She blinked at the gesture of the hero who was signalling. Danielle got it.
“Knock knock.” The man snapped his head up at the ventilation right above him at the voice.
“Who’s there, I will shoot!”
“Your friendly neighbourhood spider-woman,” yet again, screams followed as the vent fell out and a gunshot followed, hitting the ceiling. Danielle quickly got up and grabbed hold of Minji’s arm, pulling her away while the hero tackled the man right to the ground.
The four girls watched the hero who saved the day once again swing away and disappear between the buildings. As they fell into chatter about what had happened while the cops handled the rest of the situation, Danielle finally got to open her messages with Y/n. It had been a while since she left.
“Hey–” She didn’t manage to even start the text and looked right back up, seeing the girl running towards them. “What happened?” Hanni was the first one to jump right into explaining what happened as if she hadn’t cried through the whole scene.
“How about we just watch a movie at our dorm?” Minji suggested, offering hers and Hanni’s dorm after what happened.
“Are you alright?” Y/n walked over to Danielle as they all started heading back to college grounds, knowing very well what had gone down in the café the second she left. She still wanted to make sure that Dani was alright.
Danielle hummed and gave Y/n a smile. “Yeah,” she chuckled and looked over the girl’s face who still looked just as tired. She smiled a little bigger at the genuine worry Y/n’s face held. “You’re lucky.” She commented.
“I am?” Y/n questioned, getting another hum, watching the way Danielle gave her a nod of affirmation with it. Her breath got caught in her throat when she felt Danielle’s fingers brush against hers.
‘Hold her hand, just take it into yours like they do in movies…’
Y/n glanced down at the girl’s hand–their friends not paying them any mind as they walked in front of them–they were so close and all she wanted to do was hold Dani’s hand.
“Yeah, it’s like you sense danger, the way you disappear when something bad is about to happen.” Y/n let out a small laugh at the words that reminded her of why she had disappeared and remembered what she had come to realise right before it.
“I think Sakura is the one who can sense it since she called.”
Danielle twisted her lips, trying to keep up her smile as she glanced down–wanting to hold Y/n’s hand–and Y/n put her hands in the pockets of her jeans.
“You did miss Spiderwoman though.” She joked, trying to lighten up her heart which seemed to get a little dull.
“So…Somewhere between lucky and unlucky.” Danielle smiled, shaking her head, Y/n still managed to brighten up everything for her.
Danielle hadn’t been expecting much to come out of sitting and watching movies in Minji and Hanni’s cramped dorm. It was cosy, to say the least, but she was still too busy thinking about the girl beside her.
Could she even call them mixed signals?
Dani felt time stop for a few seconds, her heart stalled as she tensed up. She tried to move as little as possible as she was sitting on the bed with the girl whose head was now on her shoulder. It wasn’t weird, she would lend her shoulder to all her friends, that’s just how she was, but having Y/n’s head drop onto her shoulder felt different and she was aware.
Painfully aware.
She glanced down at the girl who was asleep, carefully moving her hand over to Y/n’s which was resting beside her leg. Danielle gently ran her fingers over the girl’s arm which was covered by a hoodie.
She smiled when she got to the girl’s hand, tracing her thumb over Y/n’s soft palm before she pulled the sleeve of the hoodie down further and took her hand into her lap; she did get to hold her hand in the end.
All Danielle needed to do now was just find the opportunity to talk to Y/n.
After a day that had felt dragged out attending classes, Y/n found herself away from campus. The ground under her vibrated as yet another train passed by, sitting right under the subway tracks where the old and quite abandoned skatepark was.
It had been a while since she last had time to enjoy it and mess around on her board, however during one of her classes with Dani the girl had asked her if they could spend time alone.
Of course, Y/n had concluded that a crush was all that Danielle would ever be to her and she would never become more. How could she become more if Y/n couldn’t even start by giving her enough now?
It didn’t mean that she wouldn’t spend time with her, especially since just the thought of Dani made Y/n smile which was something she always needed in her world.
Who would have thought that being the local superhero could turn so gloomy at times? She loved it, but it took away a lot, especially the people around her and holding a secret this big could almost feel like a heavy burden on her shoulders.
She glanced at her phone, bobbing her head along to the song that played through the speakers of her headphones. The girl had arrived earlier to skate before Danielle would arrive and the latter should be there soon enough unless she had missed her train.
However, nothing could go as planned for Y/n when her music was interrupted by a call from Sakura.
“There have been disruptions between the control centre and the incoming subway train after the ropes snapped on the crane causing girders to fall right atop the tracks, Y/n.”
“Is it really that–Wait, is it the train that stops near the campus?”
“Exactly that one and it will fly right off the rails in a few minutes.”
“Dani is on that train.”
Danielle flinched at the sudden and loud thud that made her look up from her phone, eyes widening at the familiar figure that clung onto the side of the train, staring right at her through the window.
She was confused, watching the spider crawl up and disappear and suddenly her heart rate spiked up.
Of course, Spider-Woman was nothing but good, but if she suddenly appeared, it could only mean that something was wrong. Not only did she appear out of nowhere, but quite literally halfway changed with a hoodie, shorts, and sneakers still on with the suit under the regular clothes.
How bad was it?
Danielle got her answer the second the train screeched, making her grab hold of the pole she stood beside to not fly right onto the floor at the abrupt stop. It was still rolling, trying to stop, screeching and making people fall into panicked chatter, trying to figure out what was going on.
Something made the air shake from what sounded like an explosion.
It all turned into those familiar gasps and distressed shouts as everyone was growing scared; Danielle included when the railway vehicle finally came to a stop but with a loud crash and suddenly the wagon was starting to tip over, tilting forward. As far as Dani was concerned the subway didn’t go downhill, especially not at a steep angle like this was starting slowly to become.
It had stopped, but it was gradually with intervals tilting or more so falling more and more. Danielle quickly moved over to the windows, grabbing hold of another pole to try and get a peek at what was going on.
“The whole crane exploded and the bridge!”
“Are you handling it? This is probably something more than just an accident.”
“I’m trying to prevent the operator cab from falling off and dragging the rest of the wagons with it–people need to start evacuating from the back exit.”
Watching the front of the train hang in the air, supported by multiple webs that connected to the other end of the bridge, looked far from right. It wasn’t right as she watched the hero shoot more strings to hold it all up.
She could barely see through the thick black clouds of smoke that were coating the air around it from the fire under it.
“Everyone, evacuate through the last wagon, firefighters are waiting!” That was all she caught before people started to pile up to get to the back. They were quite literally in the third wagon–the second was out of service, the first one off the rails.
Danielle got bumped into as she was about to do the same, her frame being pushed the wrong way and the subway train dropped yet again, making her stumble back and onto the hard floor with a yelp. The angle would become steep any second now and she wouldn’t be able to make it out at all.
Oh was she going to die such a pathetic death?
No way, she still had to talk to Y/n, may that thought be what saved her as yet another explosion followed with terrified screams.
“Give me a break.” She groaned in annoyance and pulled herself up on her feet, watching people running out of the wagon she was in and disappear, heading towards the end of the tail.
Clearly, not everyone could be called a hero after no one had even considered helping her up. Bitterly she was back up on her feet, holding onto whatever she could to make it easier to walk up the acute angle.
It wasn’t too bad yet, but she felt heat run across her spine because it couldn’t be good for too long. Lately, it has been anything but good, but she tried to look on the bright side, if she got out she would finally be able to talk to Y/n; she has waited a week now to gather the courage.
It wasn’t good, but it could be worse, couldn’t it?
Danielle ran, whatever was happening behind her didn’t sound good at all and it felt like she was running on a treadmill whose incline constantly went up. Exhaustion was starting to take over and her legs burned, praying that she wouldn’t slip because if she went down now, there was no going back.
Nope! She probably jinxed herself.
Something snapped–the webs–and it was free fall from there, right back to where she came from. She tried to grab onto something, but her feet didn’t slip, however, her hands did as she missed the next pole, only touching it with her fingertips.
A shriek escaped her lips and no thoughts were left in her head, vividly aware of there being no point as nothing mattered anymore if she was falling to her death anyway.
“Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the rails!” Her body was caught and she huffed, tightly wrapping her arms around the shoulders. “Down goes the train!” Only hearing the webs shoot out before they were launched up, a loud crash followed with another explosion after them and she didn’t dare to open her eyes because she couldn’t tell if she was alive or dreaming after feeling a wave of heat hit her too.
The air around her swooshed, sirens, screams and it was all growing faint as an arm wrapped around her waist. She slowly dared to open her eyes, she was far from the ground and it made her grip tighten.
Dani however trusted the person who held her, trusting her not to let her fall as she hadn’t let her fall with the train she saw down below; it had fallen off the tracks, going up in flames with everything else. The Spidey who was holding onto her kept humming the nursery rhyme she had tweaked earlier.
She inhaled deeply at the pull of gravity with her eyes closed, she only opened them once she felt the ground under her feet.
“You’re all safe now.” Danielle carefully stepped back, looking around to see that she was at the top of a building. Her eyes fell back on the girl in front of her before she could disappear.
“The door is unlocked and you can just head down.” She looked where the door was and snapped her head back at the footsteps.
There was still something she wanted to do, something she had wanted to do for a while now and she’s simply never had the chance. Spider-woman lived a fast-paced life, but Dani was sure she could make some time for her, at least for a few minutes.
“Wait!” She exclaimed and grabbed onto the girl’s wrist who had turned around to run off. It made Spidey turn back around on her heels with a hum, tilting her head at Danielle. She let go and took a breath before swallowing to make room for the words.
“Thank you.” Danielle finally managed to get out and let out a breathless chuckle at the finger-guns pointed at her as the hero slowly backed up. This was it.
“Of course, I’m your friendly neighbourhood–”
“Thank you for always looking out for me, Y/n.” Dani added and inhaled deeply, balling up her fists before she relaxed, releasing that breath she took.
“What?”
“I know you’re under the mask, Y/n,” Danielle stated, her tone firm yet she felt it all shaking up inside her.
The hero let out a little chuckle. “What if I’m not actually under the mask? Won’t it be embarrassing for you if you are wrong?
She let out a breath, a hopeless chuckle and maybe she couldn’t get Y/n to trust her.
“Y/n, I’ve been sure about it for the past week,” the signs were all there laid out in front of her this whole time, they had been especially clear these past few weeks.
The time in the park when a phone was buzzing and stopped the second Dani’s call to Y/n ended.
The hoodie in the library, Y/n had the same hoodie on her before disappearing, Danielle had seen the girl wear it on multiple occasions before too. Sakura had helped her patch those stars onto it; Y/n would never shut up about it and Dani loved watching her happily boast about her roommate.
The rhymes, the ‘cya later alligator’ and the lame but somehow endearing and cute actions and words she only knew Y/n for.
Simply the fact that Y/n always disappeared whenever crime took place. Hell, she had never seen Spider-woman and Y/n in the same room and considering how often she was with Y/n it would have happened by now.
The Saturday after what happened at the café when they went to watch movies at their friends' dorm. That was the night her suspicions got confirmed when she saw the suit peek out from Y/n’s hoodie, making Danielle cover it for her so no one else would see.
Everything was in front of her now as the Spider-woman was wearing Y/n’s clothes over the suit.
Dani watched the way Spider-woman, Y/n, slumped her shoulders and looked down.
“Dani–” Y/n tried, but was cut off by the latter.
She was feeling vulnerable, everything she had tried to prevent from happening was happening. Y/n was supposed to leave Danielle behind, but now she knew about her biggest secret. She was letting her into parts of her life she hadn’t let anyone else into except her roommate.
“I just wish you trusted me the same way I trust you and wouldn’t put a distance between us.” She let out, jutting out her lower lip as she frowned, her deep breaths mixing with the wind that howled in her ears.
“I don’t put a distance between us, Dani.” Y/n tried to argue, but she knew very well how many miles she had put between them. From the secrets to the lies, all the way to all the things she had done to try and avoid letting Danielle in too close. She couldn’t do it to the girl, she couldn’t let her into a place she would never stay in because Y/n would always come and go.
That was her life as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-woman.
“But you do and I don’t understand why…You won’t even take off your mask!” She raised her voice in desperation as she refused to let Y/n close the door on her.
Dani never cared about Y/n staying, all she cared about was being let inside so Y/n would have someone to come back to once she did. She had come to the realisation–after figuring out the girl’s secret identity–that Y/n would always leave, but she’d also always come back.
If only she had let Danielle know why she always left in the first place then they wouldn’t be in this position.
Y/n huffed and pulled the mask off of her face, using her sleeve to wipe away the tears that had formed from the intensity of the moment as so much had just happened.
All she could do now was make Danielle understand just why she put a distance between them; explain why she distanced herself from most people. How her life was miserable without the people closest to her, but how she still couldn’t be as close as she wanted with them.
How Dani deserved way better than her.
Y/n bunched up the mask in her fist, she loved it, she loved it all, but she hated so many parts of it. She hated that to save the lives of people, she had to hurt the people she loved the most by disappointing them.
“You know it's like when my spidey senses are tingling but the difference is that you cause more than a micro shift when you step in a room and it causes my whole body to tingle.” Y/n at last confessed, the words bursting out of her as she threw her arms up. It made her pace back and forth at the frustrations of having so much to give, but not being able to.
“I feel so hopeless because you’re the sunshine, a sunflower always looking towards the bright and I try to do that but my world isn't as bright.” She continued, refusing to look at Danielle as she stopped and glared down at the roof under her feet.
Y/n’s body deflated like a balloon, feeling all those pent-up emotions of anger disappear and the sadness of the situation wash over her instead.
“It’s full of danger, it’s full of uncertainty about tomorrow, it can turn gloomy on the brightest days, it’s a burden I love and hate carrying. It isn’t something you deserve, something anyone close to me deserves.” Y/n sighed and all she felt like doing was crying as she knew that it was over from here.
“I will never be able to just be there, I will always appear and disappear.”
Danielle would understand the reality of Y/n’s life and leave her behind before Y/n could do it; not like she would be able to do it, but the sunflower would turn away from the sun that never stayed, and find one that would always be there.
“Dani, you deserve better than me.” Y/n widened her eyes and looked up in panic. “Oh my god do you even like me like that!?” It would be embarrassing if she had just assumed that Danielle wanted to be more than friends. Even if they would only be friends, Y/n still needed her to understand why the distance was needed.
Danielle chuckled, watching the girl who almost jumped at the sheer panic. She heard every word Y/n told her and instead of them pushing her away, they made her want to step so much closer to her. It made her realise how much Y/n needed someone and she wanted to be that someone simply because it was Y/n.
“You don’t even realise what you’re saying.” The girl stated as she made it in front of Y/n and grabbed hold of her hands. Dani looked down at the mask clutched in the gloved hand, the mask of far more responsibility than one person could carry alone.
“What?” Y/n looked at the girl who she viewed as a sunflower, feeling the warmth swallow her ears when Danielle looked up and met her eyes.
Under the sun, her eyes glimmered, with the wind her curls gently moved and with the smile that plastered itself on her lips Y/n’s whole world lit up and it always made everything feel easier.
“A sunflower?” Danielle questioned with a breathless chuckle, her thumbs caressing Y/n’s hands.
“Yes…” She mumbled, glancing away as she was worried that Dani would find the comparison stupid.
“I look towards the bright, I look at you and get warm, feel a smile form, Y/n. Why on earth would I ever not like you back? If I’m a sunflower then you’re the sun I turn towards.”
Yeah, Danielle’s whole body was fuzzy and maybe her fingers would tremble from the nerves if she didn’t hold onto Y/n, but she dwelled on the feeling as she watched Y/n with a fond smile. The girl simply made her feel warm and bright just by being there.
It made her burdens disappear, she only wanted Y/n to feel the same way.
“You’re exactly what I deserve and want and you deserve to have someone there for you too. I can’t let you carry it all alone. So what if you leave? So does the sun in the sky.” She glanced towards the said sun with her eyes squinted, tightening her grip on Y/n.
Danielle was ready to risk it all for Y/n because she was all that she wanted. It was scary, she had to admit that it was, Y/n was right, tomorrow was unknown and it was terrifying but she knew what she wanted at the moment and that was where she lived, only worrying about what was now. She could worry about the unknown future when it would come.
“You deserve someone who will be there when you come back and I want to be that home for you, Y/n.”
Y/n had no words; she hadn’t been expecting things to turn out this way at all. She had expected Danielle to leave her, to be a sun with nothing to warm up.
Her ears were muffled, her face felt hot, her heart beat up in her ears and she could feel those tingles running all over her body again, feeling the shift in her that the girl in front of her always caused.
Suddenly she felt like the bee that was drawn to the sunflower because the warmth it gathered had been just what Y/n needed without realising. Luckily she had Dani to realise it for her.
The girl huffed when Y/n crashed into her, hugging her close. Danielle wrapped her arms around Y/n’s waist, resting her cheek against the taller girl’s shoulder.
The loud thumping of Y/n’s heart matched hers and she smiled, closing her eyes as she could remember how it sounded the same that day in the park. They were tangled up together, but tangled together in webs of love with their hearts.
“Thank you, Dani.” She mumbled.
The girl was everything that she had imagined and so much more as she turned out to be something that Y/n also needed. Most importantly, Y/n–not spider-woman–but Y/n was someone that was needed beyond her secret identity, someone who Danielle wanted and needed there.
“I’m always here.” She reassured Y/n as they pulled back, she bit her lower lip at the blush on Y/n’s cheeks who exhaled deeply before looking at her seriously. However, Dani’s silly superhero couldn’t keep her composure as she covered her face with her gloved hands, letting out an almost inaudible squeal.
“It’s official then!” Danielle hummed, tilting her head and Y/n peeked out from between her fingers.
“You’re my girlfriend.”
“Oh? Just like that?” She questioned with a laugh at the statement, seeing that she hadn’t been left with another choice as Y/n finally showed her flushed face with that big smile.
“Yes, it’s not even up for discussion–” Y/n firmly stated as she put the mask back on, stepping back she pointed at Danielle with finger guns once again. “I will go and figure out whatever it was that happened and meet you at the dorms.”
She giggled, nodding at Y/n words, watching the girl who was turning around, but she stopped just as she was going to run off.
“Wait, wait, can we just—what if…” Y/n stuttered, turning back around on her heels, she cleared her throat and rubbed at the back of her neck. “We kiss.” She tried to suggest as casually as possible with a shrug, letting her hand fall.
“If you want to.”
“Yes, I'd love to.”
Danielle shook her head as Y/n didn’t move from her spot, so she took it upon herself after seeing the girl glued to her spot. She looked up at Y/n who hadn’t even started to lift the mask.
“You’re such a goof,” Dani stated and reached up, pulling Y/n’s mask up above her nose before cupping her face and leaning in as she stood on her toes, finally feeling Y/n move and hold onto her waist.
‘Oh my, about to faint, Dani is going to kiss you, you’re about to kiss–!!!!!!!!!!!’

How the birds fly (Pt. 1)
Content warning: attempted suicide, very negative thoughts. Only read if you are in the right mindset
Summary: the adventuring life took a toll on you, and you face your feelings on a nightly walk
Pairing: Astarion/you (no use of pronouns or y/n)
Word count: 2.7k
Tags: hurt/comfort, kissing, I guess fluff?, I am horrible at tagging please forgive me
About the dialogs: they are in two different "-marks, because my program uses my native language as default. And as I'm not a native speaker, feel free to point out typos, or simply weird sentences. I aim to be better with English.
It was a very long day. You finally made camp after walking for half a day, defending yourselves against an ambush, then gettinf lost in some woods. You ended up in a clearing, somewhere up in a mountain. You were not even sure anymore that you were heading to the right direction.
Setting up camp always came with it’s duties. One of it was collecting wood for a fire so someone can make the only meal you usually eat a day. Today, you were on wood and branch duty. As if it wasn’t me nearly always – you thought to yourself. Everyone clearly preferred not doing it. It was a long task and if unsuccesful, the bearer could be blamed. They didn’t went far enough, didn’t look hard enough.
Of course, everyone was on edge by now. The tadpoles in your head, the waiting, the constant danger looming over all of you created this snappy and sarcastic environment. They never really meant any of it, it was just a way to let off some steam.
You tried to not think about any of it while you picked up another piece of wood. Somewhere in the distance you heard some birds rustling, chirping, and then flying away. You tried to look through the trees surrounding you to see their siluettes in the dawn, but they were far away.
Once you deemed you had enough wood, you headed back. You heard the camp from far away. Your companions talked loudly, as if they were in a tavern, not on some mountain in the middle of nowhere.
This used to make you smile. You used to think there was at least once place you could remotely call warm and home. Right now it just felt distant.
„I’m back” you announced. Your companions looked up in sync, and in agreement, they took all of it from you and started making a fire to cook. Everyone, except Astarion.
He had this game with you. Sometimes he gave you attention, and other times, like this, as if you were thin air. Which you probably wouldn’t have cared about that much, if only you didn’t have feelings for him for a time now. When he gave you his attention, it was simply heavenly. Great flirtatous talks, teasing words, maybe a few stolen moments alone, or a drink for him, from you. They were cherished by you.
You sighed as you sat down, watching the others get lost in the chaos of collecting the ingredients for dinner.
Gods, you felt alone.
Later, when it was already late at night, you lied in your tent, wide awake. You were exhausted, yet dreams evaded you. Maybe for the better – you thought to yourself. Since the tadpoles, they were confusing, and you couldn’t get the proper rest and awoke feeling tried.
You decided to take a walk. Maybe moving around could make you a bit more sleepy. You decided to take the same route you used for collecting wood. At least you had an idea where you were there, and where was camp.
It was a very clear night, the moon was also full and shining bright. So bright, that it nearly dimmed all of the stars.
You zoned out while walking. When you came to, you noticed a cliff. You decided to take a rest there, and using what light tbe moon provides to just sit and watch.
There was a branch conveniently a few meters from the edge of the cliff.
In the distance, you heard and owl making noise. The next moment, it flew above you, and into the horizon.
You always wanted to fly. It seemed so free. From everything. Let it be the ground that was under you, or the burden of everyday life.
Not that you had a big burden back in Baldur’s Gate. It was the opposite, really. Everyday was the same. It grew dull overtime. Yet you couldn’t find anything motivating enough to change it. You were prepared to grow old, doing the same thing. You also had trouble bonding with people there. Not that you didn’t try, the friendships just always seemed to wither away with time. And the tavern buddies slowly all stopped showing up, until you were sitting by yourself, drinking some cheap ale.
Originally you thought of this tadpole event to be the push you needed to finally change your life around for the better. Learn new skills, like how to set up camp, survive on your own, decide which berry is edible. Make great friends for life – if you make it out alive. You were positive at the start that you would. You took on every challenge, helped every person that came your way, moved every rock to find a cure.
The others started to see you as their leader. It made you happy, gave you a purpose.
Until it became too much. You had to make the hard choices: who to side with? Which lead to follow? Kill someone and be sure they won’t spill your plan to the enemy, or let them live and be hopeful that they will be true to their promise?
It didn’t help that everyone had opinions, which they didn’t hesitate to share. And someone always disapproved, and it was on you.
And seemingly only you had nothing personal to solve. Everyone had a life, a purpose, a big enemy, an end goal. A reason to get the tadpole out. What waited for you after the adventure was just... grey. As it was before.
You sometimes wished this adventure would never end. You liked being around everyone. Karlach’s happy demeanor, how she seemed to be excitied for everything. Lae’zel and Shadowheart’s conflicts did bring some tension, but it always turned out well in the end. Gale and his magical hunger made you slightly amused: who actually eats boots? Not to mention Wyll, Halsin or Volo.
Astarion. Obviously, he was the star of the group. For you, at least. You loved how he liked deception and mocking people. You loved hearing his sweet words, especially when one of those were your name. You loved, when he opened up a little about himself. How life was for him as a spawn. It twisted your heart to hear him struggle, and you tried to help any way you could. Basically blidly following if he had a suggestion, even claiming it was your idea, if the others asked.
You believed your feelings became obvious for the others some time ago. You overheard them talk, then suddenly go silent when they saw you. Your name was whisperes silently along with Astarion’s a few times, but you were never included in those conversations.
You stood up, and took a few steps ahead, while fixing your gaze on the stars. They looked beautiful, like tiny little lanters far in the sky.
Like how the blood splattered from the goblin you killed today.
The image suddenly invaded your mind, and you now all you saw in the sky was bloodshed and violence. You didn’t want to end their life, it seemed pointless. They didn’t even seem so evil, just like a few pawns in the bigger game.
You tried to redirect your thoughts, so you thought about something else. More precisely, someone else. His silverish hair, eyes so sharp, that they see into your soul, his vampire smile he only shows with you.
Usually these pictures comfort you, but how Astarion had been acting lately, you just felt more invisible, even smaller.
Yes, invisible. You found the right word. As if you were hidden behind your responsibilities and decisions. As if your opinions, emotions did not matter anymore. Because you will do all the hard stuff, let it be collecting wood, taking the blame, or deciding to let someone bleed out or end their suffering.
They probably haven’t even noticed just how much you had on your shoulders.
Would they notice if you were gone?
You took a few steps closer to the cliff. You wondered what could be on the bottom. Maybe the river you passed recently? Or was that on the other side? Maybe a few boulders.
The memory of the birds you heard today flashed i ro your mind. You really did want to feel free, like how they were flying away from you.
You stood on the edge. The front of your feet were not even on the ground anymore. The moon didn’t give enough light to see what was on thr bottom. It seemed like a dark pit, that could just swallow you whole.
You felt something cold on your face. You realized that while you were lost in your thoughts, you started crying.
You never faced your raw feelings before. Maybe that’s why. Or because you finally made a decision. One, that would make sure you never ever had to make anymore.
„I always wanted to try flying...” you whispered in front of you, into the abyss.
You closed your eyes, and put your arms out, imitating wings. You shifted your weight, and started to fall forward...
...and with a suddend yank, you fell back, onto something warm.
You were confused, and it took you a few seconds to realize what happened. Sounds slowly made it to your ear, and the little light into your eyes.
„Fuck, dammit, you... No, it’s not your fault, I’m sorry, but shit, I can’t believe... Do you know what you were doing?!”
A voice came from under and behind you. It was rambling, sounding very distraught. Maybe even scared.
You turned around, still a bit lightheaded from the shock of falling backwards. Your eyes met a very familiar pair of scarlet eyes.
Astarion.
He was panting, as if he ran from camp all the way here. But you doubted it, he wouldn’t run after you. Maybe he noticed you were gone?
Suddenly, he hugged you tightly. His fingers dug into you, as if you could just float away anytime from his grasp. He felt warm, which was unusual to you. But truth be told, he never held you like this before.
He struggled breathing. He didn’t need to get air, which just added to the list of strange things happening. Maybe you actually fell and now living in just a fantasy?
But no, you slowly started to hear soft sniffles with the breathing. Astarion was... Sobbing.
„I’m... So, so sorry” he said, making eyecontact again. You noticed tears forming in his eyes.
You were at a loss for words. You finally pieced together what happened. Astarion saved you in the last second, and he was clearly distraught by what happened.
You felt guilty.
„What happened?” Astarion asked with a soft voice. You looked away, not being able to make a sound. You yearned to share your feelings with him, but there seemed to be no proper words to use. Nor a voice to say anything with.
„You... You’re so strong. What happened? What did we... What did I miss?”
The correction in his sentence made you heart flutter and ache at the same time. He clearly was very caring towards you, but you feared it was just one of those times and that it would never last longer than a few days.
„I’m...” you stuttered. Your voice felt like it wasn’t yours. You had to put all your strength into forming just a few words. „...not...strong...”
Astarion looked at you, with immense worry. You couldn’t say more now, and you felt like you couldn’t speak again for a long time.
You tugged on his tadpole, inviting him for a visit in your mind. You previously all agreed in the group, that you give everyone the privacy of their own mind, so you opening a way into yours was unusual.
You gave him a faint smile. You tried to put encouragement into it. He closed his eyes, and stepped through the door into your memories and feelings.
You showed him everything. How life was for you in Baldur’s Gate, and just how miserable you felt. How the initial excitement of this adventure turned into a daily torture of decisions, where there was no right answer, responsibilities which were crushing you, and the constant judgement of others.
You showed him the rollercoaster of feelings his actions caused. The hope you cradled for so much time, the longing you felt for him. The pain you felt everytime it seemed like he was just toying with you.
You shared how ready you were to let things end.
As he experienced your feelings, his arm grew even tighter around you, and he slowly buried his wet face into your neck.
After you showed him everything, he pulled out of your mind. He lifted his head, but only so much that his mouth was to your ear.
„You’re so much stronger than I thought you to be, darling” he whispered. „I never knew you struggled so much. You always seemed so sure, you... You never took any shit. You seemed so brave and determined.”
He gulped, and took a deep breath. He slowly lifted his head fully, to be face to face with you.
„I guess... I never thought about how it affects you. It was so easy following what you say, letting you decide on every crossroad. And it was so easy... Blaming you, if something went south. We... I should’ve stopped to think about you. And how you feel.”
Tears started forming again. He took another shaky breath, and tried to quickly blink them away.
„I always took you for granted. A strong leader, who is always there. And not just there...”
He looked down. You saw a single teardrop sneaking over his cheek. You never saw him this vulnerable before.
„I took you granted in a more... personal way too. Now that I saw myself through your eyes, I understand. Gods, I was such an asshole with you.”
He paused for a moment, as if searching for words. He opened his mouth, but closed it back soon. You sat in silence for a bit. You didn’t mind.
For the first time, you felt seen.
„I was scared of my own feelings” Astarion said suddenly. You sligthly raised your eyebrows, suggesting suprise. His own feelings?
„Yes. The ones I have for you.”
Your stomach filled up with butterflies. Did you hear that correctly? You couldn’t do anything, but blink at him.
„Whenever I realized just how much I care about you, I pushed you away. In my past, caring about someone meant you had another exploitable weak spot. Someone they could hurt to hurt you. And I didn’t want anyone to hurt you. So I pushed you away, since if I’m cold towards you, noone will think anything of you.”
He chuckled a little.
„But I could never keep it up for long. Because I missed you, Gods I missed you so much, even when you were right beside me, covering my back in a battle, sleeping just a few tents away. And yet, I kept missing you so much, it hurt. And now that I see, just how much it hurt you, I regret it so, incredibly much. We could have had sweet stolen moments together, if only I was less stubborn, and looked out for you a little more.”
Astarion looked utterly defeated and sad. You felt the truth in his words, and it was something you only ever dreamed of. You raised your hand to caress his cheek. He gave you one of those vampire smiles that made your knees weak.
He lifted both his hands, and held your face just under your ears. He pulled you closer to himself, and out your foreheads together. It was a very intimate moment.
„I think I fell in love with you” he whispered so silently, you barely heard it. But you did. And it gave your voice back.
„I fell in love with you, too” you said, giving him the first real smile since you were here.
He slowly leaned closer to you. You closed your eyes, and got lost in the moment.
And then... He kissed you.

Previously on The Line Between Love and War:
“Alright then. We well let Sejin and Seungho know. For now, I would appreciate if I could have some pre-concert kisses from my littlest mate.” Namjoon reached his arms out, pouting his lip a little knowing it would cause you to laugh at him.
You struggle to get yourself out of Hobi and Taehyung’s embrace, who noticeably tightened their grip once Namjoon opened his arms.
“Heyyyy, not nice!” You whine, finally pulling yourself away and falling into Namjoon’s arms.
“But we want pre-concert kisses too!” Taehyung whined back, making you laugh again, hiding your face in Namjoon’s neck.
You could already hear Army beginning to enter the arena, voices and screams echoing as the pre-concert videos started to play on the big screens. Taehyung was sitting with you, having finished getting ready first. He was in the middle of making sure you were okay being in the security gates in front of everyone else. He knew how loud noises made you feel.
“Don’t worry Tae! I’ve got the headphones that Yoongi gave me.” You smiled wide at him, hoping that would reassure your stressed-looking mate. It didn’t reassure him at all though. He opened his mouth to say something else but was cut off by Seungho.
“Come on, Y/n. We need to get you to your seat before the boys start.” Seungho gives Taehyung an apologetic glance and nod before he starts to lead you out of the room. But before you can leave, you turn around and quickly give each of the boys a hug, not wanting to kiss them in case it ruins the make up the make-up artists spent so long on.
“Good luck! I’m so excited!” You tell the last part to Seungho as you hold your hands up to your chest, your fists shaking in excitement.
You went from traveling about a week early to experience Los Angeles by yourself because you couldn’t get any tickets to now having seven soulmates and being able to attend not just one, but all four of the PTD La concerts. Your entire life literally changed at the blink of any eye, or well, more like running into a wall.
“This is your first concert, correct?” Seungho asked you, not remembering if you’ve attended anything before.
“Yes!” You exclaimed back, your fists still shaking as you make it to the stairs that will get you to the ground floor and into the security gates in front of the stage. There was a good maybe ten feet between the security gates for the floor seats and the stage where the boys would be performing.
Hobi explained it to you that you would have a seat in the section right in front of the edge of the stage, and that it wouldn’t be close to the floor seats where Army is seated.
They were worried to say the least. While they loved Army, and trusted them with you, they also knew there were some “fans” who were not happy that they found their last soulmate, and that it wasn’t any of them. They wanted you to be safe, which was why they wanted you up with their family in the box. Obviously, due to your fear of heights, they had to figure something else out, wanting you to experience their concert like an Army.
Seungho escorts you to the seat set aside but you don’t sit down, to excited and pumped up. You stood watching the stage, taking everything in. It seemed way different than it did earlier before sound check. The entire atmosphere was different. You could feel the energy and excitement of every single Army coming in and finding their seats. Some even running down to the 100’s section.
What caught your eye though was the people who had soundcheck coming back down to the floor section, all running towards you. You startled, Seungho moving directly in front of you once he caught the movement of the crowd. You held onto his arm before letting go just as quickly, not knowing if he was comfortable with your touch.
Despite your aversion to touch, you felt safe with him; you just didn’t know if he also had an aversion to touch and you didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.
However, a single, subtle nod from him let you know your actions were okay, holding onto his arm again as you try to peak over or around his broad shoulders to see the group of Armies still running your way. You didn’t know if it was because you were directly in front of the stage or what, but seeing a group of men and women running towards you scared the crap out of you.
Now you understand how celebrities feel when fans spot them out and about, without security with them.
“Stay behind me please, Y/n.” Seungho told you, feeling you trying to peek around him. He had a feeling they were rushing for you, trying to get close to the barrier in front of you. He had been watching your social media, following the discussions and posts about you. You were well liked by a lot of people, and also not so liked by some. He didn’t know which it was coming for you tonight, and he didn’t like it.
You could hear your name being called; pictures being taken of you. It was weird and seemed a bit unreal, just like earlier when you did the Instagram live. You could feel some other members of the boys’ security team moving to help Seungho.
“Seungho, I think they are just excited. I don’t think they’ll hurt me. I have you to help protect me. Plus, there is about five feet between my seat and the barrier.” You were not going to lie, you were freaking out. But you didn’t want Seungho or the boys to have to worry about you the entire time, and if Seungho continued to try and hide you from Army, you knew that would happen.
He looked back at you, and seeing how serious you were, only moved a couple inches to the left, still in front of you but not necessarily hiding you. Taking a deep breath, and trying to hide your nervous stimming, you looked at Army.
“Hi guys! Please enjoy the concert! The boys have worked super hard and are so excited to see you guys again.” You spoke loudly, not wanting to yell in Seungho’s ears as he still stood close.
“Y/n! What song are you excited for?”
“Y/n! Have you completed the bond yet?”
“Who is your bias?”
You ignored the second question, and the others like it that were being yelled your way, instead, you tried to answer some of the questions, but didn’t want to make the night about yourself. This night was about the boys, not you.
“Please guys, the concert is about to start!” You decided to move back to your seat and not stand in front of the barrier anymore.
You were now actively stimming, your body trying to help you feel more comfortable with the attention and new experiences. Your fists were clenched in front of you, shaking fast back and forth. It was a stim you’ve been doing since you were a kid, something you did when you got really excited or happy. You tried not to, despite how much you needed to, because you always felt embarrassed when doing that particular stim. You had been made fun of before for doing it, so instead you rocked your body forwards and backwards slowly.
It took a couple more minutes before you could hear the intro starting, music slowly becoming louder until the boys came on stage from below. It also took the same amount of time for you to become completely overwhelmed and overstimulated. Despite your headphones, the music was loud and seemed to be louder than the screams behind you. The lights were flashing and the movement of the boys on stage had you practically shutting down. The stares you could feel on your back didn’t help, either.
You tried hard not to though, even though you know you needed it. Your boys needed this more. This was the first concert for them since the pandemic started and the went into the army. You knew they were happy being back on stage after so long and didn’t want to ruin anything for them. You wanted them to see you happy and not having any issues. You didn’t want them to worry.
You could feel the sting from your nails digging into your palm as you clenched your hands. Your voice gone as you tried to show some kind of emotion resembling happiness or awe on your face. You didn’t need Seungho trying to bring you back into the dressing room and alerting everyone that something was wrong.
So, you spent the rest of the concert rocking back and forth and mouthing along to all the songs the boys sang. Your nails were practically stuck in your palm and you were stuck in your head. You could tell the cord connecting your mouth and brain wasn’t connected anymore and didn’t know when it would again.
You just wanted Jungkook to hold you and rub your back again but figured you probably wouldn’t get that tonight. They would probably be too pumped up with adrenal after the concert to do anything other than want to celebrate with army like normal.
You could probably get away with cuddling up to Yoongi’s sweatshirt again as you laid in your shared bed. You didn’t want to bother them when they shared this excitement and happiness with army after so long. The last thing you wanted was to be a burden.
-*-*-
Despite being completely overstimulated, you thought the concert was amazing. You don’t think you would go to one again, but you could see why so many people always praised your soulmates’ concerts and performance skills.
You waited in the dressing room as the last notes of the last song play out throughout the stadium speakers. Seungho had thought it a safety issue to exit with the rest of army to try and make it backstage. So, he had taken you back during the second to last song.
You still haven’t spoken a word, and Seungho could tell something was wrong. Your facial expression was vacant and it seemed as though your eyes were glazed over as you stared down at the small table in front of you. He was worried.
You almost didn’t notice the arrival of your soulmates, mind gone to the stimulation you felt.
“Hey baby! Did you have fun?” Jin came up and sat next to you on the loveseat, securing the spot next to you before anyone else. It was a couple of hours until his birthday and he was feeling the excitement of having his birthday with his finally complete soulbond group.
But once he saw you, zoned out and not even registering their entrance, he had a feeling of what was going on. He was reminded of the closet incidence, your wide eyes glazed and unable to track what was going on. He moved in front of you, kneeling down so he could catch your eye.
“Baby?” Jin tried, but you were gone. He now had the attention of the others, and Taehyung and Yoongi made it over first.
“What should we do? Should we hold her like last time?” Taehyung asked, remembering how Jungkook held you in his arms and how the physical contact helped bring you back.
“Here, let me try something.” Namjoon took control, switching places with Jin who now sat back next to you. Their movement didn’t phase you, your eyes still glazed over.
Namjoon moved slowly, just in case you came back to, and moved so his palm was cupping your cheek. At his touch, your eyes became focused again and he could see how truly tired you were.
“Hi baby girl. Are you okay?” He knew you weren’t but he still needed to know if something was physically wrong, and you seemed to know his intention as you shook your head no. At this response, they all knew you were nonverbal; Jimin, Jungkook and Taehyung all watching from the back as their hyungs take over the situation.
“How about we go back to the hotel, and have a relaxing night, hmm?” Namjoon asks but stops as you shake your head, grabbing tightly to his forearm. His face scrunched up in concern, wondering what was going on through your head.
You swallow your spit, trying your hardest to push words through your lips, only for them to keep getting caught in the back of your throat. Finally, you manage to push through one word, hoping they understand what you mean.
“Celebrate.” You word is raspy, as if you had a bad cold recently.
They had just gotten back from the military only months ago, managed to plan two weekends worth of content and concerts for Army, and as only a fan could know, they usually celebrated the concert afterwards with a live. You didn’t want that taken away from Army, and you didn’t want the boys to break a tradition just because you got overstimulated. It didn’t seem fair in any way.
You would be fine; you always were before. Yeah, it might take time, but you would be fine.
Army needed the boys more than you right now.
“What do you mean baby?” Jimin asked from behind Hobi, eyes narrowed in confusion as he watches your expression.
You knew you couldn’t push out another word, so you grabbed Namjoon’s palm from your cheek and held it flat in front of you, using your pointer finger you traced the word Army on his palm, hoping he would get it. You even trace it in Hangul when he didn’t get it in English.
“You want us to celebrate with Army?” Namjoon finally realizes what you were trying to say, nodding his head as it clicks.
You nod your head in response but stop once you see the look on your soulmates faces. You could tell they didn’t understand why you were asking them that. Why you wanted them to celebrate with army even when you weren’t doing good.
So, you pull out the big guns, something Jimin taught you when Jin kept telling you no more ice cream. Jimin said it would bring out an immediate ‘yes’ from the hyungs every time, so you tried it.
You pulled out the puppy dog eyes and the lip pout.
An immediate round of groans sounded throughout the room, every single one of your soulmates looked away from you, trying not to be drawn in by your expression.
To seal the deal, you brought your hands together, folded in a way that everyone usually added with pleading words, but you couldn’t speak right now, so you held your clenched hands up close to your face.
Eventually, Jin was the one who folded.
“Alright baby! But we have some conditions.” He raised an eyebrow at you as you turned to face him.
“We’ll do the live as long as you are there with us, so we can see you and make sure you’re okay. You’re going to drink some water, and let one of us hold you until the live, because that helped you a lot last time.” You knew they were talking about the last time you got too overstimulated, so you agreed.
Maybe selfishly, though, you agreed to the terms. You kind of just wanted to be cocooned in like a little safety nest as you watched the boys do their live, maybe covered in one of their shirts or sweaters again. They always made you feel safe and comfortable and were slowly becoming a part of your collection of safe clothing.
“Okay, boys, lets grab our things so we can get back to the hotel. Namjoon, why don’t you grab out little soulmate and go get into the car, we’ll grab your things.” Jin clapped his hands together after moving the night along, wanting to get back to the hotel.
It didn’t take but a couple seconds for Namjoon to pick you up, his hands moving under your thighs and holding you to him so you were chest to chest.
“Come here baby. Let’s go.” You looked around for your backpack, only to see Seungho handing it off to Jungkook who had deemed your backpack his responsibility. You can’t fight him for carrying you this time, exhaustion finally hitting you as you tuck your head into the curve of your soulmate’s neck.
It was a good thing too, as you didn’t realize some fans had figured out where the boys’ vans were and had been waiting outside for you all to leave, phones at the ready to take pictures and videos. This also meant that it would take longer to get back to the hotel, as some fans loved trying to follow the boys to figure out where you all were staying.
One of Namjoon’s hands moved from your holding your thigh to covering your face, protecting you in what he considers a vulnerable moment. He walked faster, Sejin moving with him so he could open the door for you both before having a word with one of the drivers.
Even as you get into the car, and Namjoon’s sits down, he still holds you on his lap, crossing his arms behind your back so you were practically glued to his chest. He moved his left hand lower, almost touching your butt as he moves his hand under your shirt, making contact with your back and begins rubbing his hand up and down your back. He knew this helped you last time and it was one of the only things he had to go on right now as far as helping you out of your shut down.
You both wait patiently for your other soulmates, time passing slowly as you turn your head and watch fans take pictures of the van. You knew they couldn’t get pictures of you through the tinted windows, but you still felt a little vulnerable. You were unable to protect yourself in anyway, nonverbal and in the middle of a shutdown, and it was a little daunting.
You turned your head back into Namjoon’s neck, your head resting against his chest as you watch the boys all begin to make their way quickly to the vans. Jungkook, Hobi, and Yoongi made their way into your van, while the others went into the first one.
“Okay, so Sejin is going to separate our vans, each going a separate way to make it back to the hotel so we aren’t followed. We also have three deco vans waiting to draw confusion.” Yoongi’s voice was raspy and slow from the concert and his own emotions.
He, along with the others were feeling a lot of emotions from finally being able to perform at a concert for Army, but also watching you shut down from the very same concert. It was a lot.
“How is she?” Jungkook asks quietly.
Out of all your soulmates, Jungkook seems to have taken on most of the responsibility for your care and well-being on himself. He finally has a soulmate younger than him, that can rely on him and that he can provide for. So, for him, he has put the responsibility on his own shoulders, something his soulmates have already talked to him about.
“I’m okay.”
You were. You had just been relishing in Namjoon’s touch and had felt the connection build again between your brain and mouth. You still weren’t used to being taken care of, to mean something to other people, and you knew it would take a while but you loved the way they worried about you, the way they cared for you.
It was the same way you cared for them.
-*-*-
It had taken you over an hour to make it back to the hotel. There had been several vehicles trying to follow you, the final car getting lost at a traffic light about fifteen minutes ago. To be safe, the driver kept driving around.
Your van had been the last to make it back to the hotel, and when you go to the room, a small bundle of blankets and pillows, along with some of the boys’ sweaters had been made into a little nest for you by the far wall close to the kitchen. You were in perfect view of the boys as the couches and chairs had been rearranged so they could all be in view of the camera.
When Namjoon let you down, a bundle of clothes had been shoved into your hand as Jimin led you to your shared room with Yoongi and Jin to change. Jimin walked into the bathroom while you changed into a pair of your comfy leggings and one of Taehyung’s shirts.
After doing your skincare for you, wanting you to feel nice and clean while you waited for them to be finished, Jimin helped you back into the living room and into your small nest, bundling Jin and Jungkook’s sweater around you while you watched the boys set up snacks and drinks on the coffee table.
“Okay, now, don’t move.” Jimin pointed his finger at you, his face scrunching playfully as he tries to make you smile. And it works, a small giggle making its way out of your mouth catching the attention of your soulmates.
“Here,” he pulls your phone out of his back pocket, pulling up the live on it before handing it to you. “Keep an eye out for questions you think we should answer, okay baby?” He asks you, wanting you to still be involved in their tradition with Army. While he would rather you be seated with them on the couch, he knows it’s not what you need right now.
“I will, Minnie.” You nod and smile tiredly at his request. He smiles back, kissing you softly before pulling back entirely, Jungkook taking his place with a bottle of water for you. He stays quiet, kissing your forehead before moving to sit with Hobi and Joon on the couch.
You watch them as the live starts, hundreds of questions showing up on the screen as thousands of viewers turn into millions. At first a lot of the questions are about you, why Namjoon was seen carrying you out of the venue and some were even asking why you stayed seated the entire concert.
The boys said a simple response to questions about you. They agreed that they wanted to stop the rumors of any health issues or problems while they could, especially after Namjoon was seen carrying you out.
“Y/n is doing okay and is resting here with us after a long and overstimulating day. She had a lot of new experiences and is in the middle of processing them.” Namjoon spoke in his leader voice, glancing at you for a few seconds as he speaks.
The questions and comments continue, but this time mainly about the boys and the concerts and their upcoming plans. You even commented a few things, trying to remember what it felt like to be Army, commenting “I love you” and hoping they would see it.
You did that the entire time, finding cute little comments and even yelling out “Yoongi Marry Me” every time you saw it which did not amuse your cute soulmate who only looked your way while the others laughed every time. You also drank your entire bottled water, knowing that was one of the promises you made to Jin.
And in the end, once the live was finished, he was the first to go to you, picking you up out of your little nest and into his arms. You were feeling a lot better, no longer overstimulated due to your soulmates care.
“How are you feeling, baby?” You could hear the concern in his voice.
“I’m doing a lot better! You all always seem to know what to do.” You hug him tightly, kissing his jaw in a show of thanks.
“Well, I bought tickets for an amusement park for tonight for us. Do you think you might be up for it?” Jin couldn’t even finish his question before you were squealing in his ear, jumping from his hold and rushing to your shared room.
“I guess that is a yes.” He told Yoongi and Taehyung who were staring at Jin, seeing the entire thing before walking off to the room.
Jimin and Jungkook were already in the room, helping you pick out a matching outfit with Jin, who was going in a pair of his overalls and a white shirt. He wanted you all to match, but you and Jimin were the only ones who currently had a pair of overalls to wear.
You were excited, jumping in your seat as you waited for everyone else to get ready to go. You loved the rides and playing the games but you think your favorite was the food. You never really went to the fair often, which was as close to an amusement park as you had gotten, your mother thinking going to a big field full of people of all walks of life below her standing.
But you loved it and couldn’t wait to experience it with your soulmates.

💫𝒳𝒾𝒶𝓃𝑔𝓁 𝒴𝒶𝑜 "𝐻𝓊𝒶𝓍𝓊 𝒜𝒸𝒶𝒹𝑒𝓂𝓎'𝓈 𝒫𝓇𝒾𝓃𝒸𝒾𝓅𝒶𝓁 𝐼𝓃𝓋𝑒𝓈𝓉𝒾𝑔𝒶𝓉𝑜𝓇"
Xiangli was always a gentle person, especially when it came to you, you were his everything; one and only. You adored him as well, yet embarrassingly, it’s weird when you kiss him, the idea of him opening his eyes while you kiss; they’re just open the entire, like what was he thinking! He tells you not to overthink it and he does like kissing you! But that doesn’t help.
“Your face is red, are you sick? Are you injured?” Concerned about your well-being as always. He felt bad bringing you out to watch some of his experiments he’s been working on if you were any kind of ill.
Yet that wasn’t the problem, you wanted to congratulate him by kissing him since most of the experiments worked out, like a bad memory that shows up before you go to bed, the random thought appeared in your head and just made the blood rush to your face.
“I’m fine.”
His honest eyes just look back at you with relief you’re alright. “Well, since we're done let's get something to eat, My treat.”
“Xiangli.”
“Yes?” Covering his eyes with the palm of his hand, completely ridding his vision of you, just so you can lean in to give him a soft kiss, it felt like he was touching the softest of silks yet it was your lips, once your lips leave his; hand leaving his eyes so he could see you again.
He was just left in awe, not sure what to do as blood rushed to his ears and cheeks. “You said it's your treat right, then come on.”
💫𝒥𝒾𝓎𝒶𝓃 "𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒢𝑒𝓃𝑒𝓇𝒶𝓁 𝒪𝒻 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝑀𝒾𝒹𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝑅𝒶𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓇𝓈"
“Jiyan, you’re back.”
Sitting on top of the railing like the reckless lover of his you are, looking behind at him, a bright smile plastered on your lips making you look ravishing, hair swaying from the light cold wind, that sparkled in your eyes, as the moon shined on you.
It was a sight that was more beautiful than the fantasies he had about this moment, nothing could beat the real thing.
“Things have calmed down greatly, and I came back for you.”
Whenever he’s with you, he feels young, almost as if he wasn’t a general yet boy chasing after his crush, blushing brightly; heart pounding brightly just at the sight of you alone. Closing the distance and standing by your side. Your hand takes his, intertwining them before putting it on your chest, to keep it close to you.
“A pretty night, right?”
“Be careful, you might sip.” You can’t help but laugh a little at his worry for safety—completely avoiding your question, putting an arm around your shoulder; pushing you against your side against his chest. “You worry too much, Jiyan, I’m grateful you're back to me.”
You’re so grateful that he was brought back to you without any pieces missing, he was strong but how strong can one man be while holding up an entire army with the opponents of unrelenting tact discords attacking every second without mercy?
Pulling his arm off, letting go of his hand, and motioning him to lean down for you, like a knight to your every command he does so, gently placing your palm over his eyes, kissing him on his gentle lips—to him, it just felt better when you did cover his eyes, the face it was you made it better.
Even when you pulled away, he still wanted more “I may be selfish and greedy, but I to kiss your lips once more.”
💫𝒜𝒶𝓁𝓉𝑜 "𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓈𝓊𝓁𝓉𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐵𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝒮𝒽𝑜𝓇𝑒𝓈"
“Come on! One kiss, I'm gonna leave, why don’t you give me some love so I'll do my best today.”
“How desperate can you be, Aalto,” He’s got his hands clasped together, accompanied with his eyes sparkling at you as if he were a dog asking for more treats. “Just do your job!” Your fingers go to pinch the bridge of your nose.
“Please.”
He’s always like this, wanting affection from you, even going as far as using his work as an excuse instead of being a normal person and just asking.
He’s always using his work as an excuse just to make you want to not to even an ounce of romantic gestures that make him yearn so badly for you.
His eyes sparkled so bright as if they were fireworks in the skies, moving in closer to enhance his chances with you. You cover his eyes with the palm of your hand, you kiss his lips, it was like a flash that he couldn’t even process when you took your hand.
“Go to work.”
“You gotta give me one more!”
if you liked this, consider tipping me on ko-fi! it'd mean a lot!

hello! i’m back with another :)
————————————————————————————————————————
Inner Child
pairing: platonic 141 x gn!reader
warnings: none i believe :)
summary: your favs are back with a snowball fight
————————————————————————————————————————
ghost is stood silently in the kitchen making a cup of tea, when he hears a distant giggle. his back immediately tenses, going into high alert as he sits the kettle down.
he knew that giggle. nothing ever good came from that giggle. it was your giggle.
the sound draws closer to where he is.
please, no. what were you up to now?
with his back stiff and straight, he turns to the doorway slowly. his eyes immediately meet your small figure clad in an oversized, black puffy winter coat, thermal pants, a grey beanie, and your boots. a scarf is wrapped around your neck, slightly lifted onto your chin. your hands are behind your back. a giant, toothy smile taking over your red face.
“hi, ghost.” your voice drags out the ‘hi’, and he immediately knows you are up to know good.
before he could even say anything, something cold hits his masked face.
“what. the. fuck.” his teeth are clenched and his eyes snap open. snow sticks to his mask, and covers his front, leaving a small puddle on the floor by his feet.
“was that a fucking snowball, grim?”
your laugh echoes off the walls as you quickly run down the halls.
thundering footsteps quickly meet your ears, and you slide around a corner. a hard wall knocks you to your butt with a loud “oompf”. you look up to see soap.
“soap! oh gosh, soap, please help! ghost is chasing me.” you’re out of breath, panting as you hold your hands up to johnny.
he looks down at you, grabs your little hands, and plants you on your feet.
“well, why-“
“GRIM! GET THE FUCK BACK OVER HERE, NOW.” ghost is only just around the corner, and you take the opportunity to throw soap behind you, and book it out of there.
“shit!” the sound of two big men colliding on the floor is enough to make you cackle as you run out the front door, into the field.
you arm yourself with multiple snowballs before the guys come running out. you don’t even bother to look as you throw the balls of snow at them as they advance.
you let out a scream as soap snatches you up in front of him, and lets ghost pummel you with snow. hit after hit.
your laughter and screaming is loud enough to make price and gaz rush out of base.
“what the fuck is going on out here?” price’s voice shouts above your animalistic laughter.
ghost freezes mid throw, smacking you right in the face, and turns to see price with his hands on his hips. gaz is stood to the side, holding his stomach with laughter.
“price! help! they ganged up on me.” your voice is meek, and innocent. you bat your eyelashes for good measure.
soap scoffs and tosses you to the ground, “like hell we did! little shit came out of nowhere, captain.”
price beckons you over. you turn your head to the ground, lips pursed. you didn’t think you’d get in trouble, you just wanted some fun.
you finally make it over to him, and he takes your small hand, placing something in it.
“get ghost, i’ll take soap.” he winks and you spin around and chuck the ball right at ghost’s profile. it’s enough force to catch him off balance and fall into a pile of snow to his right.
soap loses it, hands on his knees, tears steaming from his eyes before he’s met with the same fate as his lieutenant.
“aye, what the fuck!”
price bends down in front of you as you jump onto his shoulders. a smile as bright as the sun overtaking your features. gaz arms you with snow, and you pin the guys down behind piles of snow.
your breath is seen in the air every time you laughed.
soap’s smile never leaves his face, except for when it gets hit, effectively knocking it off.
ghost’s eyes shine with amusement and he continues to pummel you and price with snow.
price’s hands dig into your thighs to keep you from falling.
you don’t think you’ve ever had so much fun.
about an hour later you all head inside when the sun started going down, and it was too cold to stay out. making your way to your room. you change into soft pajama pants and a baggy jumper. grabbing a blanket, you rush into the commons and flip on the couch.
you notice no one else is there. huffing, you get back up and rush around base, knocking on doors, and dragging everyone from their rooms.
you sit them in various places in the commons before rushing into the kitchen. the smell of hot cocoa invades their nostrils, and you bring out the cups to them.
when you finally have your own, you squish yourself on the couch between ghost and price.
“what’s going on?” soap’s voice invades your ears from the chair across the room.
“movie time!” a giggle escapes your mouth once more, and you flick on a movie.
about half way through, ghost looks down to see your head smooshed against his shoulder, legs curled up beneath yourself, and arms crossed. soap is passed out in his chair, soft snores escaping his open mouth. and, gaz is falling to the same fate right behind him.
a chuckle escapes price’s mouth, “they’re chaotic. but, we needed them around here.”
ghost lets out a hum, “yeah. we do.”

Guess what time it is…….
CENTIPEDE TIME !!! she’s finally real,,,,,,,, based off Scolopendra hardwickei or the Indian tiger centipede
Before I go about the process I just want to say you guys have been soooo incredible and I love reading your reblogs and I love the idea knowing I’ve inspired a lot of people,,, the project, although it was a lot of work and I’m feeling not so great as of posting this, still motivates me to want to make another.
(Art process below)
This was entirely freehanded! I have a lot of experience working in 3D art settings that this part came easy to me but I started with a flat base shaped in the pose I’d like the creature in. I used one whole piece cut from a shipping box and filled in the gaps with tape; you don’t need a single piece for the base but for structural integrity it helps a lot. As you can see here I also cut the legs separate and glued them on using hot glue. The vertical cross sections are to give an early support for the structure of the creature, think about the frames of aircraft or boats. During this part I used a pen to mark the width and height of the previous section to get a gradual flow of shapes.
This next part I wish I got more documentation on but after the vertical cross sections I used soda boxes for the thinner and flexible cardboard to add contour lines along the length of the creature, gluing them on the cross sections. I did about 2 strips of this on either side to fill in the space and then I continued to use soda boxes to fold and shape the top of the creature, gluing onto the strips rather than the cross sections (this part was a mistake but I quickly adapted, no issues happened but it did make it slightly less secure). I also gave the legs vertical cross sections as well to shape them for the masking tape.
The worst part, taping everything. I used tape to further shape it how I wanted but that meant going over parts several times. I used 2 different widths of tape for this for efficiency but it doesn’t matter. The legs were very loosely taped and if squeezed then they’d lose their shape; I didn’t bother filling them in because I don’t have materials for that and I let the paper mache help support them instead. Tape was also used to fill any holes and gaps left by the cardboard skeleton.
The next phase is paper mache of which I haven’t done since 5th grade… I was not confident in this step. I used mod podge and a brush to smooth down the paper. Because I lacked materials I used fast food napkins instead of newspaper which worked totally fine, it just tended to tear a bit easier. Some areas required me to get hands on and I don’t really like the texture during this stage so that was fun (lie). I didn’t do too many layers, one for the body and 3 for the back and legs but some projects might demand more. I used half of a 16oz bottle of mod podge btw so please get more than you think you need.
Finally, texture hell!!! I did a base coat of white spray paint and painted everything else with acrylic. Start with your lighter colors first before doing darker ones! I originally mixed some yellow and orange for the body and realized it was too bright and so covered it with orange instead. It also wasn’t until later I realized I could’ve been smarter with my paint so I skipped over the segments that were going to be fully black, saving the orange for the rest of the body. I wanted my centipede to stand out and not look 2D color-wise so I also used the red for the head and tail to give gradients and edges to the orange segments and legs, later going back with burgundy to further darken them but not too much. For the black segments I also used a very watered down layer of sky blue to give a fake shine and show the intended structure of the segments. Do not be afraid to use your hands! I used mine to smudge my detail paints like the black fade on the legs and the back shading. To top it all off I sprayed a clear coat and punched two holes in the underside to hang it up, using thumbtacks angled upwards.

Unwanted Soul _ Part 8 = Requested
[Yandere!Alastor x Owner of his Soul!Reader]
Part 1 — Part 2 — Part 2.5 (ask) — Part 3 — Part 4 — Part 5 — Part 6 — Part 7 — Part 8 (here)
Everything was quiet and calm. Too peaceful for your liking. If you know Vox, and you do, he’d be patronizing the hotel and telling demons from all over the Pentagram how vile the hotel and Charlie’s project was. It was so weird that things were this normal, like nothing ever happened
Sensing your uneasiness, Alastor would stay by your side to comfort you with your favourites, even bringing you to his radio tower when he had his broadcast to do. You were either sitting in his lap while hugging him or wandering around his office organizing papers. When those weren’t enough, Alastor offered to take care of the matter
You saw through his wording and knew he was going to duke it out with Vox if you so much as nodded your head. Even if it was a joke in your mind or just a subconscious reaction to his appealing offer. But no, you didn’t want to send Alastor into that ridiculous place
“Darling, it’s a lovely day for a nice stroll!”
“...”
Alastor came to your side, leaning down to hug your form in his arms while you stared out into the city from the balcony seat, “You know, someone else is faring much worse.”
Your eyes looked away from the sigh, nuzzling into Alastor, “I’m just worried…”
“Unlike the princess,” Alastor took your hand in his and kissed it, “You have me as your sword and shield, anytime, anywhere.”
You also observed everyone else’s reaction. Alastor, Lucifer, and Husk weren’t bothered at all, just another day in Hell as their attitudes say. Niffty wasn’t even aware of what actually gone down and continued as normal for a different reason. Angel was checking his phone constantly, maybe to see if Valentino yelled at him or something cause of Vox
Worse of all was Charlie. She was a wreck the day after. She was the owner of the hotel and the ringleader of this dream to redeem sinners to bring them to Heaven. What if you didn’t say anything and let things happen? She doesn’t doubt that her father won’t help her, but by the time she snaps back to it, it would have been too late
Vaggie was with her all the way, comforting her girlfriend and trying to get Charlie back to her cheerful and bright self. Though it was all for not since Charlie didn’t even arrange activities for everyone to do like always, to them, it was like a repeat of what happened before Charlie recruited the cannibals and Vaggie brought them weapons
You knocked on the door, waiting for some reaction. You got the information from Vaggie that Charlie was indeed in her room, just that she wasn’t in the mood for anything. You already had Alastor distract Vaggie for you to do this. So you opened the door and closed it silently behind you.
“Vaggie… I say I’m not hungry.” Charlie groaned, wrapped up as a burrito on the bed with her back facing the door.
“I’m not Vaggie.” You plainly spoke when you walked over to her form.
Charlie gasped and momentarily turned her head to you before groaning again, “Why are you in my room? Don’t you hate it when others do that to you? Where’s the politeness?”
“Well, I have Alastor to cover for me, and last I checked, there was no Vaggie at your door. Plus your door was unlocked so I came in.” You sat on the opposite of the bed, your back facing hers. “Also, I didn’t think there was a politeness activity. Not that I learn things like that, I’m an irredeemable sinner anyways.”
“Why are you here?” Charlie spoke, muffled by the blanket that she used to hide herself. “I’m not making whatever deals with you.”
You blinked with a stoic look on your face, though it wasn’t like she could see you. The hotel needs Charlie, as much as its demons won’t admit it, the princess was the hotel’s shine. However relutant they seem to be during her activities, they still participated and bonded in the end
It was important that Charlie bounce back quickly before Vox makes his move in the open. Who knows, he might be planning something right now. You really can’t afford for that. Another battle wasn’t what’s needed
Then again, you find yourself asking why are you helping this hotel? At first, it was a good excuse to send away Alastor. Plus it was an interesting idea, to see redemption happen. Perhaps it was because you saw that angels weren’t as holy as you thought? Perhaps it was how easily a sinner died from Adam’s beam?
Perhaps it was because you grown attached to these sinners without knowing
You saw Charlie like a former you. All cheerful and innocent, so trusting and accepting. She had what you don’t. Unlike you, she had Vaggie to support her. Unlike you, she had a group of weird but loyal friends that stand for what she believed and dreams of. Unlike you, she had a loving father that supports her
And unlike you, she had power and authority of her own
Right. You were envious. You didn’t join her, you didn’t let her approach you because it was too familiar to that weak you that brought you to your death. As much as you hated your life, you didn’t want to die. You wanted someone to save you from that desire, someone to be by your side too like the stories you read and the shows you watch
You shook your head and forced away the thoughts to focus, even if it brought out bad memories, you can count on Alastor to comfort you. “If it makes you feel better, you can yell at me.” That got Charlie to peek at you, “If it makes you feel better, you can hit me too, I’ll recover. I must have made you so stupid. It was… my fault.”
“What!? No!” Charlie suddenly burst open like a butterfly from her cocoon, she grabbed onto your shoulder, staring at you with firm eyes. “I’m mad at myself that I didn’t think things through and just accepted it all! I’m ashamed that I’m not as knowledgeable as you are, and they are my people!”
You stayed quiet as you listened, watching Charlie slump down as her hold on you loose.
“I’m… I’m not as talented as you are. You stayed in your room and do whatever you do, but you’re so… uh… capable! And treated. And cool.” Charlie listened on things you don’t even agree with, but you kept it to yourself, this was about Charlie, not you. “I wish I was you…”
“No. Perish the thought.” You firmly stated when she said that. She looked up at you, her eyes widened when you didn’t even know your face made one of disgust and self-loathing. “You don’t want to be me. You shouldn’t be me.”
This time Charlie was quiet as she listened to you.
“Listen to me good. You are a literal sunshine that I feel like I need to wear sunglasses when I’m around you. A princess you may be, but you treat others like equal without boundaries and without a power dynamic. It’s rare. When people have power, they abuse it. In some way, no matter what. That includes me with Alastor.” You ranted on, “Charlie, you are this hotel’s angel, I’ll go as far as to say you’re this hellish place’s angel.”
Charlie’s eyes watered and hugged you like no tomorrow, you allowed her and looked at the shadow in front of you, forming into a familiar shape. You smiled back and blinked with a nod, Alastor’s shadow left and you soon had Charlie back on her two feet
You watched from the sidelines with a satisfied smile, opting to stay in the background while everyone else enjoyed Charlie’s shine. Alastor formed beside you and had his arm around your waist, praising that he didn’t expect you of all demons to be able to cheer Charlie up from that state
From experience, you learned that it wasn’t easy to bring someone out of their depressive episode. It takes someone who understands and opens up their wounds to help another heal. You’ve done that too many times to count. Back then, you thought you had grown numb and continued without caring for your own well-being. When you realized what you had done to yourself, it was too late to change
But the peace didn’t last too long
As you expected, Vox sent an employee of his to give the hotel a message. Because they rudely declined his support and destroyed his products without asking or at least telling him, he wants compensation. In a week’s time, someone, and only one demon, as a representative of the hotel was to come to the V Tower to discuss the specifics of the compensation
If no one came or anything was done wrong, there would be a declaration of war between the Vees and Charlie’s hotel. It was even noted that Lucifer can’t interfere because he was merely a guest, nor can Angel since it too was a guest of the hotel, only members of the staff can participate
Alastor was quick to side with the latter option, thinking an all-out battle/war would be better than submitting to whatever compensation Vox wanted. Vaggie agreed along, saying that it wasn’t worth the risk to send one demon to the lion’s den
Especially after nearly everyone was hypnotized by Vox’s TV screen and that was when he wasn’t even in person. Wouldn’t the hypnosis be even more powerful when they stand in front of him?
“I’ll go.” Your words broke the ongoing discussion, everyone turned to you while you blinked. “What?”
Yeah, you shouldn’t have done that because what resulted was Alastor getting extremely close to you with radio dials for eyes and voodoo symbols started appearing around him while the room was filled with static. “Darling, Dear, My Love, why would you even suggest something like that?”
You patted his head, avoiding the extending antlers. “Because I’m immune to Vox’s hypnosis or any mental attacks. That includes druggings that would alter my thinking and decision-making.”
Your reasoning didn’t soothe Alastor’s mind at all as the static continued.
“I’m the perfect person to go, I know about Vox and the other two.” You eyed Lucifer for some backup.
Lucifer sighed and stepped up to testify, “Yeah, Pager here collected those three’s information before.” He eyed Alastor, “Up close back when Pager’s still all workaholic and crazy good with infiltration. Not saying Pager’s not as good now.”
“WHAT!?”
“Beloved…”
You looked away with an innocent look, “That was all supposed to be confidential, so it wasn’t exactly my place to tell.”
One way or another, you ended up going just as planned. Charlie and the others watched you leave with Alastor. You suppressed the urge to push them away when they gave you a group hug, you found it off that Husk and Angel was gone, but then Lucifer seem to have overslept, so…
The hardest part was reassuring Alastor you’d be fine and boy did he come up with all sorts of excuse to keep you away from the meeting. Good effort, but meaningless when you knew Alastor too well. He wasn’t the only one to learn a lot about their partner
Alastor compromised with staying in your shadow and observing the entire situation. He’d accompany you along the way to the tower and leave, materializing when you exit as well. You also had to call for him whenever you were in any sort of danger
All agreeable terms. It’s a wonder that Alastor didn’t force you to skip the meeting on the promised day. You gave him a kiss before he had to hide in your shadow. Then it was show time
“I’m here to see Vox.” You told the demon at the front desk, your hand hovering over where your book was the moment you entered the building. To conceal your identity, Alastor has you wear an oversized coat over your attire. Mostly to hide your pages for emergencies.
“You need an appointment to see Mr. Vox. He is not the type of demon you can just see. Please leave or feel free to browse the VoxTech products.”
Your eyebrows furrowed from the monotonous voice and the lack of welcome. Vox was really summoning Charlie like some lapdog. “Tell him a representative of the hotel had arrived to see him. He’ll know what I mean.”
“Please leave or feel free to browse the VoxTech products… Otherwise, I will call security to remove you by force.”
“Fine.” You raised your other hand to show your phone with an ongoing recording, “But we fulfilled your request, a representative came as asked and you, Vox, are the one that is refusing to speak to us. If it’s a war you want, then you’re getting one!”
A sudden jolt of electricity was in the air before the demon of the hour showed up with that grin that reminded you so much of Alastor’s. Your blood boiled at a memory that surfaced. But this was business and then you can leave with Alastor by your side to remind you that you’re loved and cared for.
“Ho, ho. No need for that.” Vox smiled, his TV for a head tilting to the side as he stared down at you with neither respect nor posh. “If you want, as a sign of goodwill and that I’m innocent in my lateness since it was my employee’s that’s incompetent…”
You leaned back a bit while Vox leaned forward to you, gesturing to the demon at the front desk that was already shaking from fear.
“I can always… torture them for your entertainment.”
Note: Ta da~! Vox is officially out now! How's this one?

Morph/GN!Reader It's a little late, and super short and not that in-depth, but I'll be honest, I've been on the struggle bus lol. I feel that Practical magic might have to hold on until after october, as I really want to post the secret surprise guest fic on halloween day and I'm worried I wont have enough time if not. Don't worry though! It should still be posted eventually.
You’ve always considered the rumors about your family’s witchy and magical past to be fictional, absolute nonsense. Well, you did, until you found yourself accidentally bound to someone who’s more or less your familiar. Neither of you particularly wants this, so you focus on whatever magical skills you managed to inherit on breaking the bond- but is that really what you want?
TWs: Incredibly inaccurate witchcraft and magic, misunderstandings, I'll add more if I think of any.
“And you’re sure this will work?” You sigh at the sound of the voice, Morph sitting on your counter and kicking their feet back and forth as they watch you draw a chalk symbol on the floor. The lines are crooked and the symbol a little wonky, but it looks close enough to the one you saw on Google- you think.
“Nope.”
It’s been almost a week since the universe decided that you needed a new problem on your hands. One day you’re joking about the supposed magical past of your family line, then the next day you’re waking up at midnight to heavy vertigo, bright lights, and something- someone in your house. Not only had you jinxed yourself, you had put yourself through some kind of horror movie by walking through the dark house and faceplanting directly into a pale, lanky creature that you were sure you'd seen on some horror forum in the 2010s. Only, they weren’t just some creature. They were your creature. Your familiar, apparently. Like, witchy familiar- like black cats or owls or other creatures of the night- only you got stuck with a Changling, one who wasn't exactly thrilled about the situation, having enjoyed hundreds of years of freedom since being bound to another magic-user.
“Really starting to doubt that you're an actual witch, you know.” They hum, hopping down from the counter and stretching their arms. You let out a long groan, running your hands through your hair before you plop down on one side of the circle.
“That’s because I’m not!” You say, exasperated. “I don’t have a clue what I’m doing- and if anything I would expect the Fae-born changling to know more about this!” Morph only shrugs, which only aggravates you further.
“Don’t hate the player, rookie, hate the game.”
“Would you please sit down already?”
The instructions you follow make you feel stupid. You had everything that the “spell” or whatever it was required, but it was just so… cheesy. Every step you follow feels stereotypical and fake. You’re a hundred percent sure that it probably wasn't exactly common for witches and whatnot to sever the magical bond between themselves and their familiars, but this wasn't really an average situation. You don’t want to use magic, or be a witch! And Morph doesn’t want to be stuck to you either! You can already see the hopeful glimmer in their eyes as the chalk circle begins to glow, the writing on the sheet of paper you were using to guide you quickly following suit. The air begins to feel staticky, charged with magical energy. There’s a buzzy feeling underneath your skin, and the tension in the air begins to grow as the tea candles on the counter go out suddenly. There’s a moment of anticipation, and then a flash of blinding light. You close your eyes at the bright shine, feeling the buzzy feeling die down. There’s a silence in the air, and when you finally open your eyes… Morph is still there, tapping their fingers against the wood floor. They look a little disappointed, before giving you a smile that doesn't reach their eyes.
“Soooo, should we order takeout tonight?”
“God damnit.”
You go grocery shopping instead. While you're in the store, Morph is really helpful. You’ve only known them a day or two, but they are certainly living up to their title. You don’t really have to ask for help very much, sometimes they just do things you need, and other times you do ask them to do something (stupid tall shelves) and it’s almost like compassion for them to fulfill your requests. You don’t like that. Morph is still smiling, but you don’t think they like it either.
Morph is… strange. Not in a regular way- and the constant changing and taking on new forms isn't exactly news to you, besides the fact you had been so sure changelings usually take on a single shape, but then again you didn’t exactly do a ton of research on that kind of mythology. You’re starting to think you should have, but that's aside from the point. Morph is actually really nice, and funny, and always manages to find a way to make you laugh. There are moments when it just feels so authentic and others that feel… hollow, almost.
As nice as it was to have company, the quest for a spell to sever the bond between you continued. Morph helps you find spellbooks at the library you had never known existed, stayed up late with you to find herbs and fungus that only grew at night, helped you make breakfast and drank wine with you on the weekends before laughing with you until morning. Months go by of this, and despite every failed spell or ritual, the air between you only settles, both of you relaxing into a new comfortable energy. They’re less stiff than they used to be, you noticed. they’re less afraid to make mistakes, and more likely to join you for company.
Eventually, Morph tells you about their sinister first master- if you can call the bastard that. It’s a serious moment, one you’re not likely to forget, but afterward, you find a new kind of appreciation for how comfortable they were in your home, and with you.
From then on, things between you… change a bit. Something shifts. Morph is a lot more touchy with you, slinging an arm around your shoulders, draping themselves across you on the couch. Their jokes come off more genuine and less stiff- less of a defense than they were before. There’s newfound mutual trust, one that you start to enjoy.
…But they still had to go home, right?
You feel like every step closer you get to having the perfect spell mastered, something goes wrong. All these little nitpicky things that you had overlooked time and time again begin to wear on you, and with your growing fondness for Morph, it wears you down a little. You want them to say, but you don’t want to keep them here. Not against their wishes. Additionally, your new spellbooks and supplies- hell, even the crystals you owned before any of this magic stuff surfaced had gone missing. You go to try another attempt, and time and time again, after not being able to find the key components you knew you had, you gave up and waited for another day. And then when you would find what you needed, something else would be missing instead. You have never felt so forgetful then you did while searching the house and having to get Morph to help you- because it really had to be you misplacing things, right?
What was stranger was that Morph didn’t really care. They would laugh about it and shrug their arms and lightly make fun of you, but never made you feel too bad about it. You had felt so guilty every single time, knowing that you were keeping them here due to your own thoughtlessness- and the fact that you enjoyed them being here only made the guilt worsen.
Eventually, the time finally came when this foolproof spell you had been working on for so long was ready.
The room is lit by candles, the chalk on the floor almost glowing against the dark wood. There’s a small fire in the center of the circle, various crystals and things placed around in strategic patterns, and the air is buzzing with magic. You’ve recited these words so many times at this point you had it memorized, so focused on wrapping the twine rope to bind yourself and Morph’s wrists together you hardly see the way their face shifts, looking paler than ever.
“Are you sure this is going to work this time?” Morph asks, an unsteady tone to their voice.
“Well, we’ll know if the fire-” You don’t even have to finish your reply, as soon as the twine has been fully wound, only a string hanging down in the middle, the fire shifts in color, a wave of magic sweeping the room and every other candle and flame following suit. You look around in surprise, with this being the first time you’ve ever had that kind of reaction. It feels… good. The magic beneath your skin, the power and control you have over the elusive spell at your fingertips. And yet, you still can’t bring yourself to smile.
The fire beneath your wrists stretches, the flame flickering up to lick at the twine that hangs between you. This kind of flame won't burn the skin, only the rope, you remind yourself as you anxiously watch the fire grow. You can’t hear anything over your heart pounding in your ears, the twine burning slowly before it begins to pick up in speed. A wind begins to pick up in the room, candles flickering as the magic seems to become sucked into the binding as it burns. You’re too focused to really pay attention to Morph’s growing discomfort, but time is ticking, and you look up at them expectantly when they must speak their half of the spell, taking their power back for themself and rescinding your use of it.
“Morph?” They don’t respond to their name, eyebrows furrowed as the flame burns more and more of the rope. You finally notice how nervous they look, heaving breaths and shaking shoulders. It’s all moving so fast, and they’re running out of time. The flame completely overtakes the twine when Morph suddenly shifts the size of their wrist, yanking it out of the binding. All of the air is sucked out of the room, the magic following suit as every flame returns to its normal color, and you can’t help but let out a screech as your wrist begins to burn.
“Shit! Sorry! Sorry! I’m so sorry.” Morph is rambling. You’re desperately trying to get the rope off as they race off to the side, grabbing the bucket of emergency water you kept just in case something went wrong. You call their name in frustration, tears dotting your eyes as they grab your hands and plunge it into the water, quenching the fire.
“Please, just don’t be mad!” They beg, but it’s a little late for that. Your growing anger is only amplified by the unbearable pain from the burn on your wrist.
“Of course I’m mad!” You shout. “How can I not be?!” Tears are finally beginning to roll down your cheek, from the pain or the anger, you didn’t know. Morph is becoming frantic, running back over to the side to grab the first-aid kit before sitting down with it. You can’t bring yourself to take your wrist out of the cool water. They can’t seem to decide the best way to help you, either, hands reaching out to wipe your tears but retracting before they can touch your face.
“I can’t- I’m sorry, I couldn’t-”
“Why didn’t you just tell me?!” The words come out like a shout, and Morph flinches, looking ashamed.
“Do you have any Idea how hard this was for me?” You sob. “-To tap into whatever magic bullshit this all is, do all of these rituals and spells and have each one of them fail? Having to prepare myself for you to leave me over and over again?!” There’s a second of silence, Morph looking at you wide-eyed.
“What?” Morph breathes, in absolute shock, still hovering by your side. You scoff at the question, taking your wrist out of the water to weakly punch at their chest.
“You’re such an oblivious asshole!” Your arms are around them before they have a second to react, burning your face into their shoulder. Morph is frozen, stiff under you like they still haven't fully processed what was happening. You continue to cry into them, sobs and hiccups slowing while they begin to relax, wrapping their arms around you and burying their face into your hair.
“Why didn’t you just tell me you wanted to stay?” The words are whispered and broken, but Morph only holds you tighter.
“I… I thought you wanted me to go.” Morph mumbles. You shake your head, only curling into them further. They hold you back just as tight, and you know that the relief you’re feeling is mutual.
You sit together for a long, teary-eyed moment, breathing each other in.
“So…” Morph breaks the silence. “Takeout?” You laugh, and it’s possibly the greatest sound they've ever heard.
“Hell yeah.”

Not too sure if your taking requests but can I request a part 2 of yandere alien? but the reader is just completely numb after the whole sex scene and she just stop showing emotions, she stops talking and her eyes are just empty but whenever she looks at Zuri her eyes shine bright with anger and murderous intent even the rest of the crew see's it
Despite this Zuri tries everything in his power to get a reaction out of her but he always turns up empty handed even when he try to do the boombahya with her he still gets nothing she doesn't even moan
And after a few days she just randomly disappeared he searched the entire ship top to bottom but he couldn't find her minutes turned into hours, hours turn into days, days turn into months and months turned into years
His crew was hired to get some goods by some great empire it here that he found her one problem she is the emperor's mate she already has multiple kids with the emperor and another on the way
Anyways reader see him again and decided she is gonna ruin his life in which she did and then her mate had him executed slowly so he felt everything....
Anyways I hope you like it 😀
Part ones ending didn't scratch me right 😅
Wow I love that concept, and great suggestion at the end, but I’m not going to kill my favorite red flag. You can have some of it though.
Alien Guy x GN!reader - mild NSFW ask
Asks and Suggestions are open and encouraged!
Warnings: noncon/dubcon, confinement, general creepiness, alien, MINORS I DO NOT WANT YOU HERE SO HIT THE ROAD
You didn’t talk much back on Argon, the scientists spoke their scientific jargon, the cleaners were just as prudish, and the experiments… couldn’t talk. So you were in the habit of staying quiet as well. This continued when Captain Zuri brought you to Seed, you’d go days without speaking, and living by the mantra of ‘only speak when spoken to’.
Needless to say, Zuri wasn’t concerned when you didn’t say anything to him the morning after. That’s just what you were like. Even when you went back to avoiding him, he didn’t think twice. When you started skipping meals however, then he had a problem.
You wouldn’t meet his eyes, the impossible blue making you feel something dark and self-destructive. He forces you to look at him, and you can’t help the look of disgust on your face. Zuri declared you as his lover and mate, and that if you won’t take care of yourself, he’ll make sure to take care of you.
Before, living with the aftermath of being raped was manageable. But now you sleep in his bed, eat with him, and you’re not even allowed to shower alone.
Oh, and sharing a bed with him means sex. You couldn’t help but react your first time, but now it’s almost like your body won’t let you feel it. You want to feel good, maybe that will take your dark feelings away, banish your pain, and set you free. It doesn’t hurt anymore, at least. Zuri keeps you loose, it doesn’t matter when or where the feeling hits him, you’re always ready to take him.
Zuri’s just contented with having you. In the beginning, he was fairly worried about how you felt, but it was clear that you wouldn’t change anytime soon, so why worry about that? Or maybe he was just forcing himself not to care, because you were in pain because of him.
Maybe out of guilt, he gives you more alone time, and doesn’t make you do chores. The only rules are to be in his room by curfew, and don’t go whoring yourself out. The gift is wasted on you though, because you don’t leave his room, even when you’re allowed.
You have no friends on the outside, and your old room has been given to someone else. There’s no privacy out there, but Zuri’s gone most of the day, so you can just lounge in any of the spacious areas of his cabin. Usually a storage closet or behind furniture.
It’s almost like you’re a feral animal, Zuri or his secretary will leave a tray out for you, because you’ll only eat when you’re alone. You make sure to take care of all your needs before Zuri returns to his cabin in the evenings, as you try your best to avoid him. You know he knows exactly where you are, but he doesn’t seek you out unless it’s for something physical.
You’ll stare into space without a thought in your mind, but when Zuri enters your sights, it’s like a switch is flipped.
You’ve been treated badly, horribly by many people. But none of them were as persistent as him. You want to kill Zuri, make him suffer, even if it means dying yourself.
Zuri notices the darkness in your eyes, you used to be a fairly simple person, aimless, floating through space. Now you have something more grounding, a tether to one place; Zuri. You may not love him, but you won’t leave his side until he’s dead.

Friends? (Part 4)
(Wednesday Addams x fem! reader)
Summary: After your encounter with your mother, you go back to your time, and to your girlfriend Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 Warnings: none (?) a/n: this might be the last partttt (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
When you opened your eyes again, you were back in your room, in your girlfriend’s arms. She was awake already but seemed lost in thoughts. You tilted your head up and kissed her jaw softly, letting her know you were awake too.
She looked down to you and pressed her lips on your forehead.
“Good morning”
“Wends, you’ll never guess what I saw!” you started, so excited to tell her about your mom
“What did you see, cara mia?”
You both repositioned yourselves on your bed in a more comfortable position to talk.
Your eyes were shining the whole time you talked. You looked so happy to finally know who your mother was…
“And you? Did you see anything?” you asked your girlfriend, a bright smile still on your face
Wednesday’s eyes scanned your face for a split second, as if she was taking in your features and traits. Again, she seemed lost in thoughts.
She woke up in a room, in Nevermore, but it was certainly not yours. The decoration had changed, and you were nowhere to be found. The raven frowned, confused. You were in her arms just moments ago, you couldn’t have disappeared like that.
She took a moment to examine the room with attention to try to understand what was going on. The decoration was quite pleasant to her; she could’ve decorated her room like that. But it was clearly not her room.
She was about to look at a picture on a shelf when the door burst opened. Surprised by the unusual discretion of the person, Wednesday jumped slightly, and took out the knife she always had in her pocket. A knife you had gifted her on one of your dates after hers broke.
The other person didn’t seem to have noticed her yet. It was a girl, who was looking for something into a drawer.
The raven took a few steps closer, silently, but the other girl seemed to hear it because she quickly turned around. Out of reflex, Wednesday’s knife found its place close to the other’s throat.
Surprisingly, the girl had a knife as well and it was also close to the raven’s throat. That was very unusual now.
“Who are you?” the girl asked
“I was about to ask you the same thing.” Wednesday replied, unimpressed
“I asked first! You have to answer first, that’s the rules”
Wednesday held back a little smile. It was totally the kind of thing you could say.
“My knife is closer to your throat.” she simply said
The girl looked at the knife, and it was clearly closer to her. She rolled her eyes and mumbled:
“I knew I had to practice more” she then looked back at Wednesday “Truce? We put the knives aside and then we can talk?”
The raven considered the suggestion for a second, before giving her a slight nod. They both put their weapons down at the same time but stayed alert.
“So?” Wednesday said again, becoming impatient
“Yes, sorry. I’m Lilith”
“Do you have a last name?”
“Addams. With two D’s” the girl declared as if people made the mistake very often
The raven was surprised, to say the least.
“Does Fester have a child he never told us about?” she asked, raising an eyebrow
“What? Why are you- How do you know- What is happening?”
“I didn’t know there was another Addams in Nevermore…” Wednesday mumbled to herself
“‘Another’? What do you mean?”
“I’m Wednesday Addams.” she simply replied
Lilith’s eyes widen at her words, and her mouth formed a perfect O.
“That’s why you look so familiar! But- how- I mean-”
She didn’t have the time to finish her sentence and got cut off by the door opening again. Wednesday’s eyes shifted to the person who opened it. It was an older version of you in her mid 30’s.
“Honey, is everything okay? You’ve been gone for a long time, we-” Wednesday’s gaze met ‘yours’ “Wednesday…? What the-”
You turned to Lilith, confused, then back to Wednesday.
“What is happening here?”
“I don’t know! I just wanted to show you the snowball, and then she was in my room! I swear mom, I-”
“Mom?” Wednesday repeated with wide eyes
You ran a hand through your hair, biting your bottom lip, trying to figure out what to do. Wednesday noticed a ring on your left ring finger.
“Lilith, baby, can you find your mother and tell her she needs to come right now?” you finally said
The girl looked at you, then nodded before going out of the room, not without a last glance towards Wednesday.
“Okay um… Hi? I guess?” you said awkwardly “Do you know how you got here, maybe?”
“… Y/n?” was all that the raven managed to say
You smiled at the sound of your name.
“Yes, it’s me. I take it as I didn’t age badly” you chuckle softly
“Oh, you clearly didn’t…” she looked you up and down “I have… no idea how I got here.” she then admitted
“What do you remember? Anything in particular?”
“We found a ritual in Goody’s spellbook but it didn’t work. And then we went to bed. That’s all.”
“The… the ritual? Oh god… Oh god…!” Your surprised expression soon turned into an offended one “So you didn’t wake up yet? I didn’t tell you anything about what I saw yet?”
The raven shook her head.
“Oh my god…” you put your hands on your hips
She was about to say something when the door opened again, revealing an older version of herself this time.
“Cara mia? What’s wrong? Lilith told me-”
“Wednesday Friday Addams!” you said, not letting her any more time, your index poking at her chest “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me!”
Confusion was visible on her face. Then she looked over to her younger self, and her expression changed to an amused one.
“Oh, so it’s today?”
“Don’t dodge the subject! You told me you saw nothing!”
“Sorry my love, I did not want to risk our future”
You rolled your eyes but had a little smile on your face.
“You were scared I wouldn’t marry you if you told me? I would’ve married you even if you had a third arm or something”
Her expression softened a bit more, and she kissed you softly.
“Let’s talk about that later, okay?” then she turned to her younger self “you have the answer you wanted, don’t you?”
“No. I didn’t see anything.” she gave you one of those smiles only you got to see “But it’s normal as I didn’t have any question.”
“Oh, right, sure” you said with a light chuckle, before your gaze fell on your alarm clock “Oh, shit! We need to go to class!”
You quickly got out of bed and ran to your bathroom to get ready.
Wednesday watched you from the bed, halfway between amused and exasperation, looking at the date on your phone: ‘Sunday 12 May’.
I am going to marry an idiot… My idiot.

Bathroom Rendezvous- Damon Albarn
-
-
-
summary: your friends drag you out to a club and a certain brit caught your eyes.
lowercase intended
warnings: smut
a/n: was kinda inspired by the song ‘bathroom’ by montell fish :)

-
-
the stench of sweat and alcohol hit me as soon as i walked inside the club. my friends forced me out of my apartment to ‘get out there’. they dragged me towards the bar, wasting no time to get drunk. i hesitantly did shots with them, not really in the mood to get black out drunk. i was tipsy when they decided to move onto the dance floor. i stuck with one of my friends as the other ones went to find someone to dance with. we danced crazily to whatever song was playing, laughing at our antics. the second i closed my eyes, she got dragged away by some guy. once i opened them, i was alone on the dance floor. i stopped dancing as a small frown appeared on my face. i took that as my cue to go sit down and wait until they’re ready to leave. i plopped down into a empty booth, dropping my head down onto the table.
“y/n! why are you sitting down? come dance!” one of my friends shouted at me.
i looked up to see a girl glued to her side, sweaty from the dancing they did.
“i don’t know, i think i’m good here.”
“party pooper!” the random girl called out.
i furrowed my eyebrows at her, a tiny bit of hatred flowing through my veins.
my friend just laughed at her statement and led them away. i just watched them with a look on my face that quickly disappeared once my eyes landed on someone. his gorgeous face was highlighted by the lights, his blond hair shining bright. he quite literally took my breath away since i breathed in a shuddered breath.
he must’ve felt someone staring at him cause he began scanning the club, eyes landing on mine. he flashed the greatest smile i’ve ever seen at me. i softly began to smile but immediately realized i’ve been caught staring. i averted my eyes and stared at my fingers instead. part of me hoped he wouldn’t come over but the other wanted him to. i looked back up to where he was and saw he was gone. i mentally panicked, scooting out of the booth and booking it towards the bar. i ordered 3 shots, downing them in seconds. the bartender stared at me in shock as the alcohol smoothly went down my throat. i slapped money on the counter and thanked the woman before heading to the dance floor.
i shoved my way past the sweaty bodies to reach the middle of the floor. my body just began moving on its own, dancing along to the song. i was too focused on myself that i didn’t feel a certain someone’s eyes on me. after the blond man noticed i was staring at him, he already knew he wanted to meet me. he thought it was a perfect time to go once i broke eye contact, but when i noticed he wasn’t in his original spot i left. he followed me to the bar, getting stuck behind some big guys before reaching the stools. i was already in the middle of the dance floor when he stood there. his beautiful eyes scanned the crowd and as soon as he saw me, he didn’t hesitate to make his way over. he shoved and squeezed through people before finally stopping behind me. he watched as i danced like no one was watching.
i jumped a bit when i felt a hand on my shoulder, i turned my head to make eye contact with the man. my mouth slightly parted, in disbelief that he was in front of me.
“sorry if i scared you!” he shouted over the music.
“don’t worry about it! i’m very jumpy at little things!” i laugh.
his heart fluttered at the sound of my laughter.
“i noticed you staring at me earlier!”
“oh-uh..sorry about that! you’re just really pretty!” i blurted out, face becoming red at my words.
“well, i can say the same about you!” he reaches up to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
i nervously bit my lip, face incredibly red.
“wanna dance?” he asked, extended his hand out.
i only nodded before taking his hand. he began leading the dance, getting lost in the music. i smiled at his moves before i began dancing.
the alcohol began taking over so i took a leap of faith and turned around to grind on him. i immediately felt his hands grip my hips, somewhat guiding me. i threw my head back to rest on his shoulder, leaving an open opportunity for him to kiss my neck. the feeling of his soft lips against my skin was enough to make me lightly moan. i would’ve been embarrassed but i heard him moan back. my stomach erupted into flames, my body craving this random man.
“fuck…i know we just met but let’s take this to the bathroom, hm?” his hot breath fanned over my ear.
i couldn’t muster up the strength to speak so i nodded. he quickly took my hand in his and led us to the bathrooms. luckily no one was near as we snuck into the women’s bathroom, going into the farthest stall from the door. the bright lights shined into his face, exposing more of his beautiful features that i wouldn’t have noticed out in the dark club.
“wait, i’m sorry but i never introduced myself.” he chuckled nervously.
“i’m damon.” he stuck out his hand.
“y/n.” i shook his rough yet soft hand.
“such a pretty name for a pretty girl.” he bit his lip, moving closer to me.
his bright colored eyes stared into mine before he finally connected our lips. they were softer than i’d imagine, moving perfectly in time with mine. my hand snaked to the back of his neck to push him deeper into the kiss. he wrapped his arms around my waist and brought me closer to him.
he pushed me against the wall, one of his hands moving to grab my thighs. he guided my leg up and i took it as a sign to wrap it around his waist. i felt his fingers tickle my skin as they hike under my dress, towards the one spot i’m craving him at. he doesn’t tease me and goes straight to the point, dipping his hand into my underwear. i moaned into his mouth at the feeling of his cold fingertips.
“so wet for me, baby. jump.” he mumbled onto my mouth.
i obeyed and jumped as he caught the back of my thighs to wrap my legs around his waist.
“damon…please..” i normally don’t beg this early but having the most attractive man ever making out with me like this excuses the behavior.
he wastes no time to unbutton his pants, struggling to shimmy them down his legs with one hand.
“your top..take it off..” he moans out.
i reach to slide the straps of my dress down my arms, struggling to unzip the zipper. damon saw me struggle so he decided to help, reaching one hand to unzip me. in a blink of an eye, the top to my dress falls and pools around my waist. i swore i heard him inhale sharply while staring at my bare chest. he uses his free hand to squeeze a boob, making me hum out in approval. he massages it, even going to pinch the nipple and tug it. he leaned down to kiss my neck, his kisses sloppy and he focuses on my boobs. he switches back and forth with his free hand, giving both boobs attention.
i rest my head against the wall, softly moaning out as he marks my neck. he trails his lips farther down my neck and chest until he got ahold of my boob. i let out an embarrassing loud moan as he sucked, nipping it lightly with his teeth. i heard him unbuckle his belt, feeling him shimmy as he tries to pull his pants and boxers down enough. i instantly felt his hard on against my thigh, his pre cum spreading on my skin. his long fingers toyed with my soaked underwear, teasing as he rubs me through the fabric. i tug on his hair and moan quietly, signaling him to stop the teasing. he smirks against my boob, pulling away to catch some breaths. he had the goofiest (not in a bad way) smile on his face while his chin was covered in his own saliva.
“you’re so cute.” i giggle, leaning to him to press a quick kiss to his plump lips.
i swore i saw him blush a little before he dropped his head to hide his smile. the cute moment was cut short when a loud bang echoed the bathroom, followed by loud laughter. my eyes widen in fear, hoping none of them came to the back stall.
“be a good girl and stay quiet for me, okay?” he whispered.
i had no time to react before i felt him slowly insert himself inside me. i didn’t even notice him move my underwear out the way either. i quietly gasp out, the feeling of him stretching me out made me tremble. he looks up at me through his eye lashes, watching my face as he slowly starts to thrust.
i bit my lip as i try to contain my moans. he starts to speed up his thrusts as his blond hair falls onto his face, bouncing with every hit. i mutter a soft ‘fuck’ as i threw my head back. i definitely hit my head a bit but i didn’t care as i was too immersed in the pleasure. he placed sloppy kisses onto my jawline, marking my neck area even more than it needs to be. i closed my eyes and it felt like my brain shut off for a moment as i let out a quiet moan. my eyes shot open before slapping a hand onto my mouth.
“what’d i say? is it too good that you can’t keep shut?” he whispered against my skin.
he snaked his hand up to mouth and left it there, letting my hand go back to his shoulder.
he left a strong grip on my face to keep me quiet, becoming more confident in thrusting harder and faster. i don’t know how but the girls who entered didn’t acknowledge the echoed sound of skin slapping. i didn’t care about keeping my moans as i let them all out against damon’s hand. i heard some slip past his lips too, causing me to clench around him.
“oh fuck, do that again, baby.” he groaned.
i obeyed and clenched again, watching as he throws his head back. i remove his hand from my mouth and take my turn to go and mark his neck, biting and sucking all over.
“you’re so fucking beautiful…” he slightly whimpered.
i physically felt my knees go weak and my head get fuzzy. that emerged this deep feeling in my stomach, signaling me that i’m close to cumming. i pull away from his neck and bring our lips together.
“shit dames, do that again..” i beg.
“do what?”
“whimper…”
i felt his hips stutter once i said that word. for a second i thought he wasn’t going to do it but he quietly began whimpering against my lips. i furrow my eyebrows and moan out as i listen to the sounds emerging from him. i once again go for his hair and tangle my fingers all up in it, tugging at it slightly to earn more noises.
“i think i’m gonna cum..” i softly cry out.
his hips sped up once he registered my sentence, hand even going to my clit to approach my release even quicker.
i let out a string of curse words as i feel like my release coming hard. with one more last semi-quiet moan of damon’s name, i came all over his dick. the sound of his name slipping past my lips and the feeling of me cumming sent him over the edge. he moaned out against my lips, hips coming to an abrupt halt. his cum spurted all inside me, filling me up nicely. we stood there for a minute catching our breaths, waiting for our heart rates to lower. we were absolute messes, covered in a coat of slick sweat, lips swollen from kissing, necks all purple and red, hair frizzled. he eventually slowly pulled out, the feeling of his cum dripping down my thighs make me bite my lip. he awkwardly bent down to grab some toilet paper to clean us up, tossing it in the toilet before flushing.
“do you think you’re okay to stand?”
“i should be.” i chuckle, overconfident in myself.
i unwrapped my legs from his waist before he slowly set me down onto my feet. i stood there for a few seconds before my legs became jelly and i nearly fell to the ground. he quickly caught me in his arms, helping me onto the toilet seat.
“maybe not.” he chuckled.
i slid my dress back on, damon helping with the zipper.
“do you think those girls are gone?” i whisper.
“uh, i’m not sure. i didn’t hear anyone leaving.” he tried to peek through the cracks.
“i’ll go out there and signal you if they’re gone.” he nodded at me.
i manage to get up, wobbly making my way out the stall. to my first judgement, it seems like the bathroom was completely empty but i had to double check. i bent down to see if anyone was hiding in the stalls but they were all vacant. no one stood by the sinks or mirrors either, which definitely surprised me.
“we’re all good.” i call out.
he swiftly emerges from the stall, the sweaty glow illuminating off his skin. we quickly made ourselves presentable, washing off our faces and smoothing out our hairs. and for our hickies, we just prayed the club was too dark to notice anything. i left the bathroom first to make sure no one was near. when i saw it was clear enough for damon to sneak out, i knocked three times. he quickly slipped out the bathroom, clearing his throat and smoothing out his shirt to act like nothing happened.
“so uh, what now?” i ask, knowing that this’ll end by splitting ways and never seeing each other again.
“we either continue to dance or we go a get some food. what sounds good to you?” he snakes an arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. i smile at his response and action, a tiny part of me starting to fall for him.
“hmm, i am pretty hungry for some burgers and fries.”
“burgers and fries it is then.”
we began heading towards the exit, shoving our way past people. i searched around the club in hopes of seeing my friends so i can at least tell one of them that i’ll be leaving.
“damon! dude, we were looking for you!” a guy stepped in front of us.
“oh sorry, man. i’m-uh..i’m gonna leave alright?”
“leave where? who’s this?” the man asked.
“for some food. and this is y/n. y/n this is alex, my best friend.”
“well acquainted already i see.” he points to our necks.
i blush madly, realizing that in fact the club was not dark enough.
“ha ha, now fuck off man. i’ll see you tomorrow.” he jokingly rolls his eyes at him.
he leads us our the door, the chilly air hitting my skin. i instantly start to shiver a bit, craving the warmth of anything. damon pulls me closer to him once he realizes that i’m freezing.
“y/n?!” i hear a familiar voice call out.
i turn around to see one of my other friends about to walk in the club with a man to her side.
“hey! i was looking for you guys. i wanted to let you know i’m leaving.”
she eyes damon, probably making sure he isn’t a bit off. a small smile appears on her lips as she turns back to me, assuming she thinks he’s safe.
“alrighty then, i’ll tell the others.”
“thank you so much. love you, bye.” i kiss her cheek.
she began her walk back inside but turned her head to shout at us.
“don’t forget to use protection kids!”
we both laugh at her words, knowing damn well we didn’t use any earlier. we finally find damon’s car, quick to get inside and escape the cold air. he starts up his car and lets it warm up before driving off towards our burger date. one of our many burger dates.

Eden TRIP Album MC Talk Series
Season: ☆
MC 1
Hiyori: “Thank you for coming to our, Eden’s, independent live today! It sure is a blessing to be able to celebrate the album release together!
We’ve loaded our love into the songs to be delivered to you. Receive them without leaving out a single one, okay……♪”
Jun: “The first song we performed was KEEP OUT.
How was this song that was specifically written for the album?”
Nagisa: “…… I’m glad that you seem to like it. KEEP OUT means ‘no trespassing’.
…… We’re going to break into everyone’s hearts. Into the shining paradise, like a lurking viper.”
Ibara: “And then we will slowly and carefully pour poison into you, and show you sweet dreams.
So that tonight’s stage may become an unforgettable memory……♪”
Jun: “Afterwards, we’ll perform two songs; one after the other~ That first song is—”
Nagisa and Ibara: “…… Melting Rouge Soul.”
MC 2
Ibara: “Melting Rouge Soul from Adam, and Ruby Love from Eve have been performed.
Both of these were songs unveiled at Chocolat Fes— during Valentine’s season.
Nagisa: “…… Yeah. At that time, the fact that both Adam and Eve were releasing new songs at the same time became a hot topic.
…… The cheering during the moment Ibara and I said “Melting Rouge Soul” felt really good.”
Ibara: “Fufu. I’m sure there are a lot of people who did not expect it because it’s called Eden’s independent live.
I told you, didn't I? That I’ll show you sweet dreams……♪”
Hiyori: “Adam’s fans, Eve’s fans, as well as Eden’s fans—
Today we will satisfy every single person who loves us.
You’re prohibited from looking away! Keep your eyes on us till the very end♪
Jun-kun, you can’t blink either!”
Jun: “Eeh, please let me blink~ My eyes will get dry.
Oh, seems like they got everything ready while we were talking. The next song will be a solo song.
Ibara Saegusa’s— Salute Desire.”
MC 3
Ibara: “— That was Salute Desire
Oops. Thank you for the warm applause.
Though I endeavored to give a more perfect performance than usual—
During a solo song, everyone’s gazes are concentrated on me from every possible angle, so my mind could not even be inattentive for even a single moment.
Above all else, I’m glad that you were satisfied♪
Now, let me briefly introduce myself.
I am Eden’s Ibara Saegusa. Salute~☆
As you see, alongside my idol activities, I’m also serving concurrently as the producer of Eden and the vice president of the agency.
I’m very happy to be able to deliver the new song as well as the accompanying event to everyone.
I will continue to work energetically, so I ask you to please continue to treat Eden and Cosmic Production well☆
The next song will be brought to you by the four members of Eden.
Let us show you our way of life— Paradise Banishment -Faith Conquest-”
MC 4
Nagisa: “…… We’ve performed Paradise Banishement -Faith Conquest-.
…… It was first unveiled during Conquest wasn’t it. It’s a song containing Eden’s faith.
…… Hiyori-kun doesn’t really like it, I wonder?”
Hiyori: “No. I like the song itself. It’s a song that’s just like Eden.
But I’ve had enough of Conquest! Even if it’s a farce, I don’t want to act like we’re fighting and hating each other.
We’re aaaalways been the best united, mutually loving, unit—
I’m sure the fans don’t want to see us like that too.”
Nagisa: “…… I agree. The loud cheers that could shake the whole venue is the greatest proof of that.
…… Let’s keep getting along, Hiyori-kun.
…… As an ‘equal friend.’”
Hiyori: “Yes. ‘Equal’……♪
-Now now, next would be something everyone has been waiting for, my solo song!
Accept My Love— accept my love……!”(1)
TL Note:
He translates “Accept My Love” into Japanese here.
MC 5
Hiyori: “Thank you for listening to Accept My Love!
Yes yes. You’re smiling so much, I’m happy too☆
I’ll follow Ibara’s example and introduce myself. I am Eden’s Hiyori Tomoe!
Life isn’t all about fun. There’s times where you feel depressed and like you want to cry.
When that happens, it’s good to look at me. Because I’m the one who shines bright like the sun☆
Listen to my songs, and follow the productions I appear in—
Just imitate me and smile! Since I always have a smile on my face!
If you smile, the people around you will also smile. It’s a happiness chain reaction. What fine weather……☆
Now! Let’s move on to the next song, shall we?
All four of us will perform it, so please give us all of your support.
Eden’s— EXCEED.”
MC 6
Jun: “I’ve just performed EXCEED. This song is—”
Ibara: “Isn’t this a song with a shady history for you, Jun?”
Jun: “Wait a sec. Could you please stop saying misleading things~?
It’s not like it’s got a shady history or anything, umm……
When we released this song, I had lost my confidence and kept makin’ mistakes.
But then, Ibara went out of character and comforted me by saying,’Why do you lose confidence when there are people who view you so favorably?’……”
Ibara: “‘Out of character’ is superfluous.”
Jun: “Haha. I won’t be able to be the same as Ohiisan, Nagi-senpai, or Ibara, but to that extent—
No. That’s why, as Jun Sazanami, I’ll continue to put in the effort as myself.
Eden is where I belong, y’know~
Haha, thank you for all the applause. Sorry if I sounded like I was urging y’all to do something.”
Ibara: (Whispering) …… Honestly, Jun really was an idiot during that time.
There are so many people who love you.
Jun: “Hm? I couldn’t hear it over the applause, but you said something, right?”
Ibara: “No, it’s nothing. Please continue talking about yourself after you finish singing.
Now then, please listen. Jun Sazanami’s— Unlock the Soul.”
MC 7
Jun: “Hello, everyone. It’s Eden’s Jun Sazanami.
How was Unlock the Soul?
The lyrics were good, weren’t they~. When I sing them, I get excited.
Speaking of lyrics, apparently Ibara wrote the lyrics to the song I just sang, EXCEED, for me.
Wha~t? People might think I sound conceited when I say that.
But Nagi-senpai said it was to help me get over my slump or something. There’s no doubting it~
Well. That Ibara, he can be really kind sometimes~♪
Haha. Ibara’s looking at me from the side of the stage with a face like he just swallowed a bitter bug.
I shouldn’t get carried away, or I’ll probably get scolded later~
Now that I’ve told a story just for this special occasion, let’s get to the next song.
Eden’s— Absolute Perfection.”
MC 8
Nagisa: “…… Absolute Perfection. This is the first song we performed at Absolute.
…… I am God♪
…… Ibara, please look. Everyone’s rejoicing.”
Ibara: “It seems so. Unlike Absolute’s stage, this is a country where countless gods rule.”
Nagisa: “…… That’s not the only reason.
…… There are many people here who love us. They weren’t present at Absolute either.”
Ibara: “Indeed. The presence of fans is an idol’s strength—their powerful weapon.
However. It’s not normal for Eden to be completely dependent on our fans.
Let’s be ourselves and make a triumphant return to Absolute with our utmost strength.
Then, we will receive our laurels and make ourselves known. Eden are the best idols in the world.”
Nagisa: “…… Yes. I’m sure our fans want that as well.
…… Because we’re the strongest idols, Eden.
…… Next, I’ll perform my solo song.”
Ibara: “Everyone please listen. Nagisa Ran’s—We’re all alone.”
MC 9
Nagisa: “…… You just listened to We’re all alone.
…… I’m Eden’s Nagisa Ran. Thank you for coming to our live today.
…… Each song has its own memories. I was remembering all that happened while singing.
…… I wonder if you all have had the same experience? Since music and memories are connected to one another and committed to memory.
…… I wonder if everyone has some kind of emotional attachment to Eden’s songs.
…… If possible, I would like to ask each and every one of you individually. But, it would be difficult to do that today.
…… It would make me happy if you could let me know through a letter or handshake event.
…… I hope our songs may touch everyone’s hearts.
…… ‘The eternal paradise that touches the heart’— that’s what Eden is.
…… And now, it’s almost time for the end.
…… We’ll perform two songs in a row at the end. Eden’s— Awakening Myth.”
MC 10
Nagisa: “…… It’s a shame, but let’s close the door to paradise.”
Jun: “It was nice to meet you. Thank you for coming to Eden’s independent live today!
Did you all have fun at our live?”
Hiyori: “You got to see my finest performance, so it must have been fun!
I swear on Ibara’s glasses that it’s true☆”
Ibara: “Could you please not involve me? If you’re going to swear on something, swear on Jun’s life instead.”
Hiyori: “That’s no good! Jun-kun’s life is mine!”
Jun: “My life is my own. Could you not swear on it so casually~?”
Nagisa: “…… Hey, can I close the door to paradise?”
Jun: “C’moon, Nagi-senpai is bothered now, isn’t he?”
Hiyori: “Don’t make it sound like it’s my fault! It’s collective responsibility!”
Jun: “Alright alright. Now then, let’s meet again some time soon.”
MC 11
Ibara: “Everyone! Thank you for the magnificent encore!”
Nagisa: “…… The door to paradise opened right away.”
Hiyori: “No. It didn’t open on its own, we had to open it. With the power of everyone’s love♪
That’s why we also have to respond with love. Let’s share the love with everyone here.”
Jun: “The last song is, of course, this song!— BRAND NEW STARS!!!”
MC 12
Jun: “That was BRAND NEW STARS!!! This is truly the end.
We did our best, though. When I think about how it’s over, I feel lonely after all, huh~”
Hiyori: “Everyone, thank you for singing with us! Thank you for your magnificent smiles!
Please come and see me again! I’ll be waiting♪”
Nagisa: “…… The door to paradise shall close again.
…… But I’m sure we’ll meet again. Without stopping, we’ll continue to grow.”
Ibara: “The latest information about Eden is always posted on the official SNS. Please take make use of it☆
Thank you for coming today! We’ll see you soon, salute~♪”

I love your page sm!! I would love maybe a little love plot with max lando or Charles doesn’t matter who where during break Carlos invited them to Spain for his 29th bday and his little cousin who is very out there comes to the party and starts karaoke singing their favorite song while making a big show out of it.
Pass the Mic
loveeee this idea, thank you!!
You grabbed your YSL candy glaze and swiped it across your lips one last time. Perfect. It shined just as bright as your silver mini skirt. Time to make your appearance.
It was your cousin Carlos Sainz’s 30th birthday. He was throwing a huge bash with just about everyone who was anyone attending. Meaning… your secret boyfriend would be in attendance. Your secret boyfriend, Lando, who was too scared to tell Carlos that you two were dating. In Lando’s defense Carlos did forbid him from going near you. But you were adults, who was he to give you rules!
Walking in like you owned the place, you and your friends raced to the bar. Ordering up different versions of vodka, gin, and tequila cocktails. Taking your first sip of your gin and tonic you felt the alcohol course through your veins igniting a spirit inside you.
“Y/n come on let’s go dance!”, shouted your friend. You wanted to but you needed to see the birthday boy first. Scanning through the crowd you search for his big head of hair. Spotting him deep into the crowd you start strutting over when you see that curly haired wimp next to him. You hadn’t talked to Lando in a few days when he said no to arriving to the party together. Feeling the alcohol a little more, you decided to make a scene.
“Carlos!”, you shrieked as you gave your cousin a big hug. Almost knocking him over, he busts out laughing as he says hello back. You give everyone around a kiss on the cheek and a hug. Making eye contact with Lando you intentionally swerve his embrace as you go back to Carlos.
“How many shots have you had y/n?” Carlos jokes attempting to take your drink from you. He was always protective of you as you’re the youngest in the Sainz family.
“It’s my first one! Sorry you’re not as fun as I am!” you tease holding the drink out of his reach.
“You never could hold your liquor well”, Lando remarks, trying to join the group conversation.
You narrow your eyes at him in clear annoyance. “And how would you know Norris?” sneering back at him. Carlos clearly seeing the tension attempts to break the ice.
“Okay my friends! I feel like maybe we do need more shots!” he declares as he leads you all back to the bar. Once reaching the bartender you all decide to do a shot of tequila. You were about to be in trouble.
After almost an hour of ignoring Lando, more shots, and dancing, you needed to change the pace. Luckily for you karaoke had started. It was quite literally one of your favorite things to do. But what song would you perform… you needed to make a statement. That’s when the perfect song went off like a lightbulb in your head.
“Girls! It’s karaoke time!” you squeal. All your friends shout in excitement ushering you to the mic. Lando hearing the commotion makes his way towards you.
Your uncle, Carlos Sr., just so happened to be wrapping up his rendition of ‘Don’t Stop Believin’. You gave him a hip bump saying, “Tio pass the mic! It’s my turn”. You whisper to the DJ what song you’d like and prepare for your moment. One of the girls hands you a shot, and you hear Lando groan loudly from the back.
The music starts: ‘Four, tres, two, uno… Listen up y’all cause this is it, the beat that I’m bangin’ is delicious’
You begin singing with the girls as your backups.
“Fergalicious, definition make them boys go loco. They want my treasure, so they get their pleasures from my photo. You could see me, you can't squeeze me. I ain't easy, I ain't sleazy. I got reasons why I tease 'em. Boys just come and go like seasons. Fergalicious – so delicious.”
You smile as the crowd begins cheering. You felt your confidence reach new levels. So you step onto the coffee table in the middle of the room to really give them a performance.
“But I ain't promiscuous. And if you was suspicious. All that shit is fictitious. I blow kisses – mwah. That puts them boys on rock, rock. And they be lining down the block. Just to watch what I got. So delicious”.
Lando had seen enough. He knew you were going to be so embarrassed in the morning. He stomps up to the ‘stage’ and pulls you down.
“What are you doing?” he hissed as you tried to get back up. He secures you in his arms as he pulls you away from the crowd.
“I’m giving the fans what they want,” you slur. He can’t help but laugh at the situation. He had to admit you were singing pretty well and giving a good show.
You notice that he’s smiling and it makes your heart swell. “Are you jealous I’m not giving you my full attention?”, you say while batting your eyelashes at him.
“Shut up y/n…”, he smirks. You lean up to give him a kiss when all of a sudden Carlos appears.
“What the hell is this?”, he booms. Lando instantly unwraps his arms from you which had been supporting you and consequently leading you to drop to the floor.
“Oh shit babe!” Lando freaks as he picks you back up looking to see if you’re hurt.
“Babe? Again I ask, what the hell is this?” Carlos questions again. There was no getting out of this one. You begin trying to explain away the situation but Lando beats you to the punch.
“Mate… I love her. Like really truly love her”, Lando confesses. Your head snaps up to look at him shocked at what you’re hearing. “I know you threatened me if I ever got near her but.. I couldn’t help it. I obviously fell for her for her amazing karaoke skills”, he says with a straight face. This causes the three of you to burst into laughter.
Catching your breath, you grab Lando’s hand and say, “Seriously Carlos, we’re adults. I’m not your baby cousin anymore”. You look Carlos in the eyes hoping that he’ll understand.
“I don’t like it but I guess… if it had to be anyone. I’m fine with it being you Lando”, Carlos admits. Lando grins from ear to ear happily as he puts his arms around you. He’s still got his best friend and also his now, non-secretive girlfriend. All it took was a humiliating karaoke song.

||COUNTDOWN ||SEASON 5 EPISODE 10 || MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME||
#83daysofoutlander☆
July 10, 1776 THE
TIDE TURNED FROM THE EBB just before five o’clock in the morning. The sky was fully light, a clear pale color without clouds, and the mudflats beyond the quay stretched gray and shining, their smoothness marred here and there by weed and stubborn sea grass, sprouting from the mud like clumps of hair. Everyone rose with the dawn; there were plenty of people on the quay to see the small procession go out, two officers from the Wilmington Committee of Safety, a representative from the Merchants Association, a minister carrying a Bible, and the prisoner, a tall, wide-shouldered figure, walking bare-headed across the stinking mud. Behind them all came a slave, carrying the ropes. “I don’t want to watch this,” Brianna said under her breath. She was very pale, her arms folded over her middle as though she had a stomachache. “Let’s go, then.” Roger took her arm, but she pulled back. “No. I have to.” She dropped her arms and stood straight, watching. People around them were jostling for a better view, jeering and catcalling so loudly that whatever was said out there was inaudible. It didn’t take long. The slave, a big man, grabbed the mooring post and shook it, testing for steadfastness. Then stood back, while the two officers backed Stephen Bonnet up to the stake and wrapped his body with rope from chest to knees. The bastard wasn’t going anywhere. Roger thought he should be searching his heart for compassion, praying for the man. He couldn’t. Tried to ask forgiveness, and couldn’t do that, either. Something like a ball of worms churned in his belly. He felt as though he were himself tied to a stake, waiting to drown. The black-coated minister leaned close, his hair whipping in the early morning breeze, mouth moving. Roger didn’t think that Bonnet made any reply, but couldn’t tell for sure. After a few moments, the men doffed their hats, stood while the minister prayed, then put them on again and headed back toward shore, their boots squelching, ankle-deep in the sandy mud. The moment the officials had disappeared, a stream of people poured out onto the mud: sightseers, hopping children—and a man with a notebook and pencil, who Roger recognized as Amos Crupp, the current proprietor of the Wilmington Gazette.“Well, that’ll be a scoop, won’t it?” Roger muttered. No matter what Bonnet actually said—or didn’t—there would undoubtedly be a broadsheet hawked through the streets tomorrow, containing either a lurid confession or mawkish reports of remorse—perhaps both. “Okay, I really can’t watch this.” Abruptly, Brianna turned, taking his arm. She made it past the row of warehouses before turning abruptly to him, burying her face in his chest and bursting into tears. “Ssh. It’s okay—it’s going to be all right.” He patted her, tried to infuse some conviction into the words, but his own throat had a lump in it the size of a lemon. He finally took her by the shoulders and held her away from him, so that he could look into her eyes. “Ye don’t have to do it,” he said. She stopped crying and sniffed, wiping her nose on her sleeve like Jemmy—but wouldn’t meet his eyes. “It’s—I’m okay It’s not even him. It’s just—just everything. M-Mandy”—her voice wavered on the word—“and meeting my brother—Oh, Roger, if I can’t tell him, he’ll never know, and I’ll never see him or Lord John again. Or Mama—” Fresh tears overwhelmed her, welling up in her eyes, but she gulped and swallowed, forcing them back. “It’s not him,” she said in a choked, exhausted voice. “Maybe it’s not,” he said softly. “But ye still don’t have to do it.” His stomach still churned, and his hands felt shaky, but resolution filled him.
“I should have ki || ed him on Ocracoke,” she said, closing her eyes and brushing back strands of loosened hair. The sun was higher now, and bright.
“I was a coward. I th-thought it would be easier to let—let the law do it.”
She opened her eyes, and now did meet his gaze, her eyes reddened but clear. “I can’t let it happen this way, even if I hadn’t given my word.”
Roger understood that; he felt the terror of the tide coming in, that inexorable creep of water, rising in his bones. It would be nearly nine hours before the water reached Bonnet’s chin; he was a tall man. “I’ll do it,” he said very firmly. She made a small attempt at a smile, but abandoned it. “No,” she said. “You won’t.” She looked—and sounded—absolutely drained; neither of them had slept much the night before. But she also sounded determined, and he recognized Jamie Fraser’s stubborn blood. Well, what the hell—he had some of that blood, too. “I told ye,” he said. “What your father said, that time. ‘It is myself who ki. ||s for her.’ If it has to be done”—and he was obliged to agree with her; he couldn’t stand it, either—“then I’ll do it.”
She was getting a grip on herself. She wiped her face with a fold of her skirt, and took a deep breath before meeting his eyes again. Hers were deep and vivid blue, much darker than the sky “You told me. And you told me why he said that, too—what he said to Arch Bug: ‘There is a vow upon her.’ She’s a doctor; she doesn’t kill people.” The hell she doesn’t, Roger thought, but better judgment prevented his saying so. Before he could think of something more tactful, she went on, placing her hands flat on his chest. “You have one, too,” she said. That stopped him cold. “No, I haven’t.” “Oh, yes, you do.” She was quietly emphatic. “Maybe it isn’t official yet—but it doesn’t need to be. Maybe it doesn’t even have words, the vow that you took—but you did it, and I know it.” He couldn’t deny it, and was moved that she did know it. “Aye, well . . .” He put his hands over hers, clasping her long, strong fingers. “And I made one to you, too, when I told ye. I said I would never put God before my—my love for you.” Love. He couldn’t believe that he was discussing such a thing in terms of love. And yet, he had the queerest feeling that that was exactly how she saw it. “I don’t have that sort of vow,” she said firmly, and pulled her hands out of his. “And I gave my word.” She had gone with Jamie after dark the night before, to the place where the pirate was being held. Roger had no idea what sort of bribery or force of personality had been employed, but they had been admitted. Jamie had brought her back to their room very late, white-faced, with a sheaf of papers that she handed over to her father. Affidavits, she said; sworn statements of Stephen Bonnet’s business dealings with various merchants up and down the coast. Roger had given Jamie a murderous look, and got the same back, with interest. This is war, Fraser’s narrowed eyes had said. And I will use any weapon I can. But all he had said was, “Good night, then, a nighean,” and touched her hair with tenderness before departing. Brianna had sat down with Mandy and nursed her, eyes closed, refusing to speak. After a time, her face eased from its white, strained lines, and she burped the baby and laid her sleeping in her basket. Then she came to bed, and made love to him with a silent fierceness that surprised him. But not as much as she surprised him now. “And there’s one other thing,” she said, sober and slightly sad. “I’m the only person in the world for whom this isn’t mu. r. der.”
With that, she turned and walked away fast, toward the inn where Mandy waited to be fed. Out on the mudflats, he could still hear the sound of excited voices, raucous as gulls.
AT TWO O’CLOCK in the afternoon, Roger helped his wife into a small rowboat, tied to the quay near the row of warehouses. The tide had been coming in all day; the water was more than five feet deep. Out in the midst of the shining gray stood the cluster of mooring posts—and the small dark head of the pirate. Brianna was remote as a pagan statue, her face expressionless. She lifted her skirts to step into the boat, and sat down, the weight in her pocket clunking against the wooden slat as she did so. Roger took up the oars and rowed, heading toward the posts. They would arouse no particular interest; boats had been going out ever since noon, carrying sightseers who wished to look upon the condemned man’s face, shout taunts, or clip a strand of his hair for a souvenir. He couldn’t see where he was going; Brianna directed him left or right with a silent tilt of her head. She could see; she sat straight and tall, her right hand hidden in her skirt. Then she lifted her left hand suddenly, and Roger lay on the oars, digging with one to slew the tiny craft around. Bonnet’s lips were cracked, his face chapped and crusted with salt, his lids so reddened that he could barely open his eyes. But his head lifted as they drew near, and Roger saw a man ravished, helpless and dreading a coming embrace—so much that he half welcomes its seductive touch, yielding his flesh to cold fingers and the overwhelming kiss that steals his breath.
“Ye’ve left it late enough, darlin’,” he said to Brianna, and the cracked lips parted in a grin that split them and left blood on his teeth. “I knew ye’d come, though.”
Roger paddled with one oar, working the boat close, then closer. He was looking over his shoulder when Brianna drew the gilt-handled pistol from her pocket, and put the barrel to Stephen Bonnet’s ear.
“Go with God, Stephen,” she said clearly, in Gaelic,
and pulled the tri. gg€r.
Then she dropped the gun into the water and turned round to face her husband. “Take us home,” she said.

Fly Me to the Moon.
Yan Jingliu x F Reader.
Synopsis: “You looked at me like I was made of stardust, and told me that even the moon above us could not compare to the brightness in my eyes.”
Warnings: Yandere themes, violence, and unhealthy relationships.
Word Count: 1k.
i’m so sorry if i’m wrong about xianzhou landscapes lol…
*~*~*~*
The Xianzhou Luofu’s eclipses are as rare as someone who can walk on water.
Moons come and go across the Flagships’ skies as they make their way throughout the galaxy, and so do the suns. They all change from pink to red to gray, and none of them stay for long. Unlike what the Abundance teaches its creations, life has its way of teaching that nothing lasts forever. Permanence is but a fantasy and only those who are blind fools seek out such a blasphemous dream.
But if it is a blind fool you must be to see her whole for the first time, you will gladly be one.
You met just a fragment of her oh so long ago, under the very covered sun that was oh so rare. You dared not to look away from her as she moved towards you like clockwork, her sword dragging across flowered ground. The moon was white, and so were the blossoms. So was her hair, which looked like a bundle of shooting stars. She didn’t smile, but she didn’t frown either. An expression as neutral as water.
She had a black blindfold over her eyes that had the sign of a crescent moon.
To you, she was brighter than the eclipse above.
You two moved together in a circle, a cautious waltz, but also an enticed one. Curiosity.
“You are a Cloud Knight, aren’t you?” She asked. The grip on her blade’s handle loosened just slightly. “I can tell by the spear you hold.”
You nodded, and a chuckle quieter than the gentlest wind escaped her lips.
You took a step backward as she took one forward. It was not out of fear but at the very least well-meant care—a dance crafted from years of training under daylight and starlight.
…
Now, hundreds of moons later, you take a step backward as she now takes three forward. Fear controls you like a puppet as you point your spear, which has by this point been remodeled and repaired from many battles with the Abominations of the Abundance. Daylight and starlight become one with the same snow-white eclipse in the sky.
She is smiling. Her sword no longer glides along sprouted soil, but a stone path painted with the blood of your fellow soldiers. Her blindfold is off, her eyes the very image of a hollow, depraved husk. Mara.
She does not chuckle when your hands shake, but rather she loudly laughs.
It is the farthest thing from gentle.
…
Jingliu has many presences, but none of them last for very long. Some stay for a week at most without issue, but those are rare and so far distanced from one another. She lets you leave, most days, to go buy tea from the market or to go sit down and feed the birds or to let you practice aiming your weapon at the training dummy she placed outside your living quarters.
When she first brought you here, she told you that you are free to duel her whenever you wish. Win, she said, and you can leave whenever you wish too.
The only thing is you can never manage to even touch her.
The uncharted areas around the cottage she acquired for both of you are dark, and the only places where there is light are the ones that have straight and narrow paths, paths to the few places Jingliu allows you to go unsupervised. Or is the definition of unsupervised in Jingliu’s world is to have you watched from a few kilometers back?
You cannot tell. Nor do you want to know the answer, because you know the truth will stomp on your hope like it was a lowly insect.
You also don’t walk alone at night for reasons like those. You cannot see anything, only hear and think.
You cannot see Jingliu if she is watching you from behind.
Even though she swears on her honor that she does not follow you closely.
You can hear Jingliu’s breathing though, how desperate she can sound, or how calm she can sound. It all depends on what moon shines through the brightest.
…
Meals with Jingliu are always the same.
No matter what her mood is at that particular moment, she always stares at you from across the table.
Sometimes her hair is well-kept, on days when she is happier and more active in her self-care. Sometimes she bats her eyes at you. Sometimes she seems to stare past you, to the unlit fireplace or the vase of flowers near the entrance door. Her stares can turn into glares in an instant, or her glares can turn into loving gazes. You wish most days that she wouldn’t be so distant, but you don’t want her to be suffocating with her affection either.
You just want the best of both worlds. An eclipse.
“How is it?”
Your attention is abruptly captured. Her gaze appears slightly less serene yet intensifies, while yours remains filled with doubt. Your hand ceases the motion of guiding the fork towards your mouth, descending listlessly onto the table.
“Is something the matter, [First]?” Genuine confusion on both of your parts.
“...N-No.” As you lower your gaze and gently shut your eyelids, your whole body quivers uncontrollably, leaving you powerless over its movements. “It’s good.”
“Are you sure?” Your gaze evades her as if being controlled by a small prey animal’s instinct. Your heart races, as if on the verge of a sudden collapse. “You can tell me if something is wrong with the food.”
Your fingers interlock with such force that you fear they might leave imprints on your skin.
“No, no… it’s good, really.”
She tilts her head. “You aren’t eating, though.” You hear the sound of a chair being dragged, a sure sign that she is standing up. “You can be truthful with me, dearest. I won’t be upset.”
Gazing out the window, you offer no response. The sound of her sigh reaches your ears, yet your focus lies elsewhere. A single leaf gracefully twirls upon the surface of the nearby pond, without a care in the world. You hope it will not drown.
