AN: there’s no way I’m rereading this rn

There’s one long string that somehow connected soulmates together; it is an enemy not a friend to you. Everyone supposedly had one, but could only see their own. It seemed as if people could tell your string has yet to find its match. Though despite the heartache that came with the single lonely string, you persevered. You found a job as a commentator and it paid well enough. Your first day was Monday night and you were a bit anxious to be in front of thousands. Though that anxious feeling would have to go on the back burner until much later. Well that is until everyone’s attention was drawn towards you at the mandatory introduction of a new commentator.

From your seat infront of the ring and beside the other commentators, the camera is right onto you. You wave at the camera and a shy smile. You knew it was everyone’s expectation that you would talk like the other commentator, so you just said “hey”. It was simple and easy; not to mention straight to the point. Then the camera pans away and the pressure fades, talking on camera is much different from your voice being in the background of a match. 3 matches go by and you’re starting to get the hang of commenting in a witty way.

Then you heard the catchy song that everyone groaned and booed at. You kinda liked it…. “It’s that brat”, Micheal Cole; the other announcer said annoyed. “Even his music is annoying”, he said; you could tell he didn’t like this Mysterio guy at all. You shrug, “I don’t know I kinda of like it”. Both announcer’s looked absolutely flabbergasted as if you missed out on something. “He turned on his dad”, they informed you; but that didn’t seem like a huge deal to you.

Dom make it to the middle of the ring with his tongue out and he was flexing. You watched him with a smirk; somehow you loved confident guys with muscles. “Hey, he didn’t turn on me; so what’s that matter”, you stick out your toungue playfully at your co workers. They laugh; “It seems like Dom finally has a fan”. ‘So his name is Dom’, you thought in your head while watching his opponent coming running towards him.

Then in a millisecond the match starts and Micheal Cole is quick to express his dislike again. “I mean it’s the complete disrespect, he’s brainwashed by The Judgement Day”. “It could be that or maybe he wants to move on from being at his father’s side 24/7”, you defend the man you don’t even know. You feel your body buzzing and the invisible string wrapped around your finger only getting thicker. That was barely on your mind when you see Dominik fly over the ropes onto announcer table.

He’s laying there nearly motionless and trying to rub his back. All the announcers (including yourself) stand up for a better look. “Dominik has flown over the ropes and right onto our table”

“And he took it like a champ as far as I can tell”, you chime in and watch Dominik’s face flicker a smile. Dominik laid there for another moment but just when he sat up, he blew you a kiss. And you watch your string latch onto the very hand that he used. Your eyes are probably bugging out of your head at the connection you thought would never happen. Your face is scarlet red and you had to sit back down to process. Dominik hasn’t even noticed the tug on his own invisible string straight towards you. At least not until he sees you after his win.

You grabbed your things with shaky hands and turned the microphone off. You walk back stage only to see Dominik frantically pacing the exit. You could only assume he was panicking and had found out. You worried for him, and it was like the string was connecting your emotions too. You could feel Dominik’s anxiousness and excitement course through him and you. He still hasn’t noticed you in front of him and you’ve come to the conclusion he is just about oblivious to his string as you once were. He would lose his head if it wasn’t attached to his body. You just cleared your throat to get him attention.

Dominik comes to a halt and he looks a beautiful mess. His hair is messy and he is fidgeting like crazy. “You’re my soulmate”, Dominik rushes out and rocks on his heels. “Mhm”, you hum and cross your arms around yourself in comfort. “What now?”, he says a bit apprehensively. “You tell me Mysterio”, you laugh at his silly demeanor.

“Dominik”, he blurts.

So, I saw that your requests are closed so feel free to like ignore this for now and get to it later (or ignore it completely, of course) but I was just diagnosed with Hortons syndrome/ cluster headaches (also nicknamed “suicide headache” due to how painful it is) and sorry if I’m rambling but I’m feeling more than a bit sorry for myself and self pitying rn, so I just wanted to request your thoughts on how Tan (and possibly Pietro as well) would be in a situation like that, with processing the diagnosis and helping you through the headaches and all that stuff 🥺 just like being really comforting and supportive. And also with treatments bc those include giving yourself injections and I’m really bad with needles

TANGERINE MEDICAL COMFORT.

I feel like he'd be very attentive throughout the whole thing — especially at the beginning when you're going to appointments and getting tests run. he knows how nerve-racking and scary it is, so he'd be sure to make you feel supported. he doesn't want you to think you're going through this alone

he does that thing where he holds one of your hands with both of his and holds it to his chin. he'd kiss the back of yours, kinda soothing and distracting you while you wait for your name to be called. or if your leg is jittering, he always places a hand over your knee, steadying you. also he plays with your fingers as another way to distract you while you're in the waiting room. I don't think he's one to talk a whole lot, and he's not sure what to say (he doesn't want to say the wrong thing) so he'd rely on touch to convey his feelings

when your name gets called he stands up as well. he wants to be there so assumes he can come in too, you'd really want him there, so you also assume he'd follow. when the doctor/ whoever is explaining, tan would listen for you in case things weren't setting in. he'd hold your hand, squeeze it, play with it, anything to comfort you while you're getting your diagnosis

maybe he's happy that it has a name and that you now have something to label the pain you've been feeling (medical validation really is validating) while he's also sad for you bc a diagnosis is also a super heavy, weighing feeling. the night you get your diagnosis he's online ordering a bunch of shit for you — a huge selection of cooling and heating creams, high thread count washcloths (also different fabrics to see what you prefer) thick blackout curtains, a new water cooling system to install somewhere discreetly (maybe to have in your room, but it's disguised as furniture) he'd be a little bit extra when ordering and buying everything

he knows you don't like needles so he doesn't want you to give your treatments to yourself (not if he can help anyway) so you'd be in the bathroom, and you'd be sat on the toilet seat lid, rambling to distract yourself as tan cleans his hands and preps the stuff. he says things like "don't look at it, look at me. see, there you go, it's easy. it's nothing. hey, why don't you tell me about that show you're watching, hm? it any good?" and "reckon you'll be good enough to do something later? can watch a film and get a takeaway? sound good?" and "there we go, almost done. right champ you are,"

THINGS THAT I THINK CHEEKY IS VERY GOOD AT AND BETTER THAN V AND L AT:

(AKA, Cheeky is getting bullied on the interwebs, and I’m choosing to take that personally.)

Science and Mathy Things- Cheeky worked as a scientist for The Corporation for YEARS. Science and Math were her main jobs, and jokes about her not getting a simple math equation (FALSE ALLEGATIONS, DISPROVEN LATER) aside, I bet that she’s really good at stuff like that.

Being Clear- Cheeky is BLUNT. She says exactly what she’s thinking, no holds barred. She does what she wants, and has a awesome time doing it. She is one of the ONLY characters to be straightforward about intentions, blind spots, and feelings on issues. Part of this is probably because the others have to hide aspects of themselves in order to stay safe, and she didn’t really have to do that, but MY POINT STANDS!!!

Learning and Evolving- Cheeky is smart. Wicked smart. She picks up on things really quickly, learns from her mistakes with little to no trouble, and finds where she can be the most service. I’m not saying that other characters DON’T do these things, but I am saying that Cheeky doesn’t get enough credit for all that she does. She’s the ONLY light magic user in the world. She doesn’t have a mentor, boss, or anyone who TRULY understands her powers. V and L can only take her so far, a lot of her learning is practical application. And yet, she picks up on concepts very quickly, to the point that MULTIPLE CHARACTERS have commented on it. I could go on, but I won’t.

Emotional Vulnerability/Stability- Nuff said. I’m playing, but seriously, Cheeky adds a human element to V’s dynamic that is needed. V cares for and about people, obviously, but he doesn’t make it a point to tell them that or express that. (Probably due to a fear that they’ll be taken from him stemming from his childhood but WE DON’T HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THAT-) Cheeky, however, has incredible empathy. She’s a protector, a healer, and a good person at heart. It’s even reflected in her magic! She does things that are difficult for her, and she handles it like a champ. Is she probably a little more sensitive rn because of the whole Atrocity situation? Maybe. But still! She also is able to bounce back from difficult situations with relative ease. (Most people would NOT be that chill with finding out that their whole life is a lie and they’ve been under mind control.)

Her Magic- Look, is Cheeky the strongest magic user? No, not by a long shot. Twinkle has more magical prowess than Cheeky, and Twinkle is making it up as she goes! But Cheeky still does have access to a whole other side of magic that the others don’t. And I think that makes her pretty neat. Furthermore! That same magic helped her break free of mind control (which we don’t have record of many people doing) and stay alive!

In Conclusion!

Cheeky is a boss, and I will not stand for this slander of her good name.

I was thinking about a cool idea for a highschool AU for ROTTMNT + Usagi bc I never really see any and it’s one of my favorite tropes. Also, since it’s the second semester at my school, all the clubs and sports teams are showing off to get younger students to join next year, and it kinda inspired this idea. Okay I know it’s early but I READ THAT SHIT SO FAST. Broooo my heart!!! Poor poor Tighnari 🥺🥺🥺 I really like and appreciated this more vulnerable and emotional side of him. But it was also so sad poor thing!! That’s absolutely the WORST throwing up in your sleep like that?? Uhg and you perfectly captured how much his stomach was just sick sick, I want to hold him!! I ADORE how protective Cyno was, and it’s interesting to see too how Tighnaris protective ness and Cynos protectiveness varies!! With Cyno it’s like, he knows nari is more open with his emotions, and also that he frets and holds himself to high standards. So what nari needs is cyno to remain calm and reassure him and allow nari to be emotional, but also to help calm him down. Ground him a bit and assure him that he’s not going to let anything hurt him, almost like to just be a rock in a sense? And I feel like we see that with how much nari also wants to be held and also just supported by Cyno 🥺. And I love how even tho Tighnari didn’t want too Cyno knew that he’d want to be clean when sick even if he was exhausted and helped him clean up anyways 😭

but for Tighnari when cyno needs comfort it’s almost like, encouraging Cyno to feel his emotions more? I mean he still calms him down but it’s like, he validates and encourages Cyno to speak his mind and ask for his needs- but it’s not about cyno rn so I’ll leave it at that

Omg Cyno being puked on is just terrible. I don’t care how iron of a stomach you have that’s just awful and anyone would be feeling icky after that. He handled it like a champ tho!! And also now I see how this related to my ask lmao 🤣

lastly, I just have to say again I love how even when sick nari knows what to do- but It also just was so sad to see him not wanna deal with it. Hopefully the worst of it passed for him but I’m sure he got sick a few more times…one of those rough but short 24 hr things. I also love the fact that nari who knows what to do in most medical situations is just…the messiest sicky 😭😭 poor thing. Poor both of them honestly. But my heart sings when I see how cuddly they are!!! Cyno holding Tighnari all night, the protector of his peace 🥺🥺

Tighnari was having SUCH a rough go of it in this one 🥺🥺 I felt so bad for putting him through this,, just the cut between being asleep and blissfully unaware to suddenly being awake and in the middle of all that and feeling so bad?? I feel like I need to formally apologise to the poor boy for putting him through it. I definitely imagine it's one of those violent but short lived bugs. Like he's probably going to throw up a few more times throughout the night, but come the next day it's already gonna have tapered off into just feeling tired and weak. (I'm not gonna lie, part of me was really tempted to write a second chapter for this- I'm not a 100% sure where I would've gone with it, but the temptation is definitely there)

Gah and I love playing with the contrasts between sick Cyno and sick Nari, and the contrasts between caretaker Nari and caretaker Cyno. It's just so much fun to see how their different characteristics shine through when they're put in those situations.

I felt so bad for putting poor Cyno *right* in the line of fire, my poor guy wasn't even wearing a shirt to act as a buffer. (It also makes me think just how likely is he to catch this- ANYWAY)

Ok so for like… some fallout of the little ramble I went on last night:

I know for a fact some of the expectations I have of myself are unrealistic for where I am at the moment; I just started sharing original content. I just dedicated myself to improving my animation skills. I’m still figuring out where I want to go in life as someone who wants to see their stories come to life one day, whether indie cartoon or webcomic or both. It’s not like I’ve been at this for a long time and I’m upset with stagnating- I’m getting started with working toward what I want and just being upset that I didn’t get started sooner or differently, or working faster than I can. But I’m not the first to feel that way, I think this is a thing a lot of artists go through during their process, even ones who are inspirational. Not even three years ago, I was a super sheltered artist who barely shared her original ideas with anyone. Now I’m starting to stretch out and open myself and come face to face with all the issues that come with being open for the first time.

Yeah, I really wish I could snap my fingers and have my own cartoon or comic with a huge base of followers and fans rn, I wish I could have a group of super duper close friends I do everything with, but the reality is that I need to get there first and that’s ok because I’m only just beginning to get there. Someday I will and it’ll be great and I’ll be in the shoes of people I really want to be in the shoes of right now. I think the most important thing is just acknowledging that I’m on my way to something great and the journey matters just as much as the goal. And even when I get there, there’s still another journey to make to get somewhere even better.

It’s like that for every artist, there’ll always be things we want to do and be I think. Always a bigger fish and all that. But the most important thing is feeling like a champ as you chug along. I might not fully register everything I said here now, there’s no such thing as being a different person overnight, but one day it’ll happen and it’s really gonna change everything, even if it takes a while to happen in the first place.

I’ve been trying to think about what face tag teams in AEW might be the ones to dethrone the Bucks and it made me realize how “weak” the lineup is. By weak I don’t mean there’s no good teams, I mean there’s not many who feel like they’re in the place in the ecosystem where they’ve been set up as the Guys.

Top Flight are incredible in the ring but personality and promo-wise they’re still pretty green. I’m personally team “push Private Party to the fuckin moon” but they do need that push. I would’ve said Best Friends until, yknow. The Acclaimed are uhhhhh not in the best place rn.

Right now it feels like the options are 1. New tag team forms. 2. They sign the Motor City Machine Guns which, don’t get me wrong I love them but it’d be so frustrating for a new team to be made tag champs right away. 3. Lucha Bros, but I think Rey might be injured again? And of course, 4. FTR. and in that case,
