Not me comparing Vil with Christian God…

This is the first semi-serious animatic I’ve done for Epel! I never really see much serious content for him, which is understandable, but I decided to give it a try. I do admit that I really don’t like drawing him, and this animatic has been sitting in my files unfinished for months, but he didn’t come out too bad

I thought this song fit him nicely, not only because of the obvious theme of apples, but also because of the themes of abstaining and restraining and such to please “him”. The lyrics “life’s only meant to live, don’t fill it with excitement” fit the way Epel sees his situation with Vil (before his character development) quite well! Epel hates being so formal and well behaved, but he has to because of Vil, which is similar to what’s being sung about in this song.

Of course, Epel did desperately need to learn some manners, but as often is the case with twst, the situation isn’t entirely black and white. Vil in my opinion pushed a bit too hard with all his lessons and using Epel to beat Neige, but Epel also did genuinely need some guidance and direction, and he needed it to be given to him by someone strict, because otherwise he sure as hell wouldn’t have listened.
