… That’s why I don’t post asks for money from strangers.
#Firebird Randomness#unless you can provide me w/ a legit link/verification besides tumblr#I grew up in the suspicious internet era#I am the daughter of a software engineer#our parents vetted the websites we signed up for and didn’t want us to give them even an email as kids#if your confirmation is just another tumblr user who says your telling the truth#sorry but I just can’t trust that#bc anyone or anything could be writing those posts#if I know the person I’ll rb if I remember and even donate if I can#but I will never do so w/ asks from strangers asking for money#I’m sorry but I’m just not taking that risk#esp bc there’s not much I can do and I know it#a lot of tumblr activism is… well tumblr activism#cares more about being inflammatory and making accusations than actually helping#I’m letting aid organisation ads play on yt is all I can think to do#and maybe all that’s doing is telling yt to show those more#but at least it’ll spread more awareness
