OKAY SO, I remembered something very funny that I need to share because I refuse to let it die

So basically, around the time Vrains was airing (I think), people started to meme on Lightning because he was basically the catalyst for most bad things in Vrains. So everyone started a trend of "Blame Lightning" for every bad thing that happened in Yugioh.

Like the whole thing with Domino City blowing up? Blame Lightning! Yami Yugi losing his memories? Blame Lightning!

This is like my in-joke that the first item in every one of The Stars Of Iliasters plans is to kill Jaden. Wanna end humanity? Kill Jaden. Card game getting too popular? Kill Jaden. Coffee machine in the break room broke? Kill Jaden.

Both these jokes are hilarious, because there’s exactly one person in canon who is responsible for 100% of the things that happen in all the yugioh shows, and that person is Seto Kaiba.

A story from around the time they were 12. 

- Somewhere in the distance, there is a loud crash, followed by a soft yelp. Thunder rumbles in the distance, shaking the house with each strike of lightning; a new cry of fear and pain sounding through the hall - 

      “ Huh...? What was that noise..? Is there an intruder in the house?! Ah, wait, Kardiez! “ 

- Elias gets out of bed, quickly running out the door and into the hallway, expecting to see an intruder, or his sister stumbling around blindly in the dark. However, a few feet away, he can make out a moving lump in the curtains -

                                         “ Ah.... ! Kardiez, is that you... ? “ 

- Moving closer, he hears another whimper from the lump, slipping out in time with the thunder that rumbles. Reaching out, he pulls back the curtains.... - 

“  .....Ellie?! Why are you hiding in the curtains? Don’t tell me, does thunder still scare you? “ 

“ ...Elias... I - I didn’t want you to see me like this... I was trying to find your room and ended up tripping... I’m sorry if I woke you up.. “ 

“ I should have known it was you out here. You’ve always been a baby about storms and the dark; I thought you had gotten over those fears by now! You should have called out for me, it would have been better then this! I thought Kardiez was out of her bed, or someone broke in! “ 

                                                “ ............ Sorry. “

“ Ahh, now you’re crying... why are you always such a crybaby? Come on, get up! You can’t just sit around and weep! Mom would get upset if you got snot in her curtains - come on, I’m a true hero, so I’ll let you sleep in my bed, okay? “ 

                                            “ A - ah... s - sorry... “ 

“ Stop apologizing! Come on, it’s still dark, so hold my hand, okay? My room is just down the hall, so be careful to not trip on anything. What did you do, trip and knock something over... ? “

                          “ ........................... The vase on the table... “ 

“ Ah !! Oh no, Mom is really gonna kill us !! Come on, don’t worry, I’ll let you hide under my bed, okay? Just blame it on the ghosts, and we should be okay. “

                           “ G - Ghosts? There are ghosts here? “ 

“ Well, yeah! Father is here, watching over us, along with all the people Father killed! Cool right ? “

“ N - no, not really..... and I don’t t - think that’s how it works anyways, why would the people your Father killed protect you... ? “ 

“ Come on Ellie, think with your brain! They were defeated by Father, so that means they realized Father was superior, and thus swore to serve them! Gosh, it’s so obvious! “ 

                                              “ ..... I don’t think I get it... “ 

“ Of course... come on, get in bed. Don’t stub your toe again, okay? I don’t want you crying again when I just got you to stop! My story worked, right? Right? Aren’t I the best? “ 

“ Story.... ? Is that what the ghost thing was about, it wasn’t you just trying to scare me? “

 “ Of course! I’m not stupid, you know! Father is in Heaven with King Arthur and all the other Knights. There is no way Father would leave to watch two kids stumble through the dark! “ 

“ ....... What about the other ghosts.... ? The one’s of the people your Father killed.... ? “

“ Ah... well, I don’t know if they’re actually here or not. Heehee, I guess they might actually be here, waiting for a chance to get revenge? “ 

                                     “ P - Please don’t say such a thing! “ 

“ Ahh! No, don’t start crying again! Come on, you’re worse than Kardiez! Ugh... ! Let’s just go to bed, okay? There isn’t anything here that’ll hurt you, so don’t cry anymore, alright? If you’re so scared, you can hold onto me. I’ll protect you. “
