Title: His Worst Nightmare
Pairings: Levi x fem! reader
Summary: You're one of the most skilled Captain of Survey Corps but during one of the expeditipn outside the walls some of your Squad's horses were killed. As a captain you wanted to save them, you knew you can survive outside the walls but your squad may not be able to because all of them are tired so you chose to be left outside the walls and you fend for yourself.
Warnings: None might appear to be a little sad though.
Word Count: 2000+
••••••
“Captain! Most of our horses were crushed by the Titans, we won't be able to meet with Commander Erwin and Captain Levi!”
Your grip on your weapon tightened as you saw the terrified look on your comrades' faces, most of them were young yet skilled but you knew this kind of scenario would really shake them up because this is dead end.
“Take the remaining horses and meet with Commander Erwin!” you shouted as you use your gear so you could slice the Titan's nape. “What the fuck are y'all looking at?! Go before the remaining horses get killed!” four of your subordinates looked at you with tears in their eyes, “We can't leave you here, Captain!” you cussed underneath your breath and swung towards an abnormal titan aimimg for the horses.
“We'll all die if you won't follow my orders. This is not a request, it is an order from your Captain, leave! Now!” You growled as you viciously charged yourself towards the Titan to kill it.
When it fell on the ground, lifeless, you immediately looked behind and a small smile made its way across your lips upon seeing your subordinates ride the remaining horses to save themselves.
You tore your eyes away from them and looked at five Titans charging themselves towards you, you only have one blade left and to say that you're exhausted is understatement, you knew that this is the day where you'll die and you'll embrace your death proudly and wholeheartedly.
Dying to save your young comrades would be the most glorious part of your career as a captain, your young comrades has so much to learn, they still have a lot to know but you've already done your part if you will die in here today your only regrets would be the fact that you can't see Levi in your last breath.
But you heard from your father who's a doctor that once a person dies, they will have flashbacks of their whole life, looking at the brighter side you'd probably see Levi on those flashbacks before you die.
“Let's finish this motherfuckers.”
°°°°°
Levi was obviously anxious as he kept on looking behind him, your squad should be here by this time, you should be tailing them now already but he still can't see you not even a sign of any of your squads.
“Levi, we should go faster.”
“She's still out there, if you want to you can go but I'll wait for her...” he whispered in his shaky voice, before it was so damn easy for him to go on because he had accepted the fact that not everyone could go back alive and he has mastered of masking his grief whenever another comrade has fallen.
But if he's gonna lose you the way he lost his comrades, he would lose his sanity, he would probably go mad once that happens.
“Squads of Captain YN approaching!”
Hope bloomed in Levi's heart as he heard the announcement of your squad's arrival but when he looked back there are only two horses with four people and you're not one of them.
He felt like his heart stopped beating when he tried looking back further but still no sign of you, he decided to shout at your subordinates. “Where is your captain?” he asked in a firm tone and none of them answered.
The teens just looked down and one by one, they broke down into tears. “We're very sorry Captain Levi.” Erwin overheard the conversation and he felt himself go numb. He doesn't want to believe it, he's not losing one of his greatest Captain, not today...
“Can you please stop fucking crying and answer me! Where the fuck is my girl?!”
“She ordered us to leave her, she faced the Titans alone, we're sorry...”
Levi immediately pulled the reins backward, halting the horse from running. “I'm going back for her.” Erwin also halted and looked at Levi as he shook his head.
“By the walls, Levi! We can't afford to lose two of our greatest Captains today. We have to move forward.”
“I'm sorry Erwin. She's the only one that I've got, losing her means I'm nothing.”
“Levi!” Erwin called out but Levi still chose to go back to the forest where you should have been.
As he get closer to the forest his heart beats faster and faster at every moment, his determination of finding you kept him going, he would never leave you, not when you're the only one that he has.
On his way towards the heart of the forest he encountered three Titans and he chose to let out his frustration in killing those three viciously.
When he arrived at the heart of the forest, he immediately looked around, there were no bloods but there's still some remaining of the titans that hasn't evaporated yet.
Which only means one thing;
You're alive.
“Brat!” he exclaimed as he saw your figure laying down on a big branch of tree while you hold your weapons close to you, eyes half closed as you breathe heavily.
You could hear his shouts, he's telling you not to go to sleep but as much as you want to do it your eyelids felt heavy, you can feel him gently slapping your cheeks in attempting of waking you but it obviously doesn't work.
“You can't close your eyes, no. Please baby, don't. We made a promise didn't we? You need to stay with me, you promised to stay with me.”
Levi kept you close in his chest as he rides his horse, he silently prayed that there would be no more titans to appear because dealing with them wouldn't be his priority, he has to make sure you'll get back safe, your head was wounded and he's not sure of how serious the injury was so he did what he could and used his shirt as a bandage to stop the bleeding.
“Lev..”
“Just hang in there, don't sleep. I'll tell you stories so don't close your eyes and hold onto me tightly huh? Can you do that for me baby?” he begged tears streaming down his cheeks, the way you called out his name sounded so weak and every time that he'll look at you, he could see your eyes closed and fear filled his heart, something he has never felt years before meeting you.
After his friends died, he made himself tough, promised not to get attached again so he wouldn't have to lose his mind over and over again whenever he lose a comrade but you came along, he wanted to blame Erwin and Hanji for introducing you to him but he actually would thank them, because he never felt this way before.
The way you made him feel at ease, every time you'll hug him he feels contented and peaceful and whenever he feels your lips on his it is his paradise and his days without you in his side is hell.
So he couldn't afford to lose you now, not today not forever.
“I—I love you, Levi. Take care of yourself for me hmm? I'm sorry if I—”
“I'm not listening so whatever you want to say, say it to me when we get back inside the walls.”
Of course, he can hear you clearly but he's not strong enough to hear you say those words he doesn't want to hear you saying that you love him as if you're saying goodbye and that's not what he wants.
“Lev, I'm tired.”
“Baby just hold on, don't leave me please. I'm begging you.”
As he bursted into tears, his mind was filled with memories of you and him together.
Flashback
“Once we eliminated all of the titans, I would open a book shop and I will read for the rest of my life.”
“Where am I in your plans, brat?” he asked his arms wrapped around you as you rested your head in his hard chest. “You would be spending your days sitting beside me while I read.” you playfully said, pressing your lips in his jaw.
Levi looked down at you with a smirk, “That's not so bad but we should open a teashop with a bookshop inside it so people can read and drink tea.” you chuckled. His love for tea is really strong and to be honest there are four of you in this relationship.
Tea, Books, you and Levi.
Well at least there's no other girls, there's just tea and his cleaning obsession, “We'll do that and I'll tell Armin, Eren, Mikasa, Jean, Connie and Sasha to stay with us. I will be making apple pies and they would love it.” you've grown fond of the teens from the 104th, probably because you've seen how they've grown, how the playful teenagers became brave soldiers ready to fight for the humanity.
And you really want this nightmare to end so those kids would have the normal life, “I didn't know we're also planning to open an orphanage now.” he said, sarcasm perfectly implied.
“Quit talking as if you don't like them.”
“If you want children we can make a lot.” he playfully dipped his head down to press his lips on yours and you hold onto his hair as you returned his kisses, when he pulled away, his grey eyes were sparkling as a small smile made its way across his lips.
“God, I’ve never met someone like you.”
“Because everyone in this world is different and there isn’t another face like mine? Duh?”
Levi stared at you, left dumbfounded of how you sassily replied to his heartwarming statement, “You're picking up my attitude, it's alarming.” he sighed pinching your nose as you slapped his hand away.
“Your fault not mine.” You glared with a pout.
End of Flashback
“You can't sleep because our brats are waiting, Mikasa, Armin, Eren, Jean, Sasha and Connie is waiting for us to be back. We'll still eliminate the titans right? We have so much plans baby, don't leave me please.”
“I'm sorry Levi.”
°°°°°°
“Captain...” Levi lazily looked back at him just to see Armin standing awkwardly as he rubbed his nape, “You should eat and go get some sleep.” Armin told him politely, the blond teen doesn't want to make the Captain mad especially he knows what Levi is going through.
“No. Leave my office now.”
“Captain, we know that it's not easy but you can't sacrifice your health.” Eren appeared bebind Armin and soon after, Mikasa, Sasha, Connie and Jean appeared, each one of them carrying different kind of food but Sasha is holding a container of water because the others forbid him in bringing the food, knowing that she might get tempted to eat it.
“Leave me alone and let me work in my office quietly loud brats. None of you knows what I feel.”
“We do. You're not the only one who's sad, we missed Captain YN too but this is beyond our control. The least we can do is to take care of you because we know that she wouldn't want you to be like this.” Mikasa said, her voice devoid of any emotions as she walked towards the Captain as she placed down a tray of food on top of his table.
“We believe that you're old enough to eat by yourself and we wouldn't have to shove that spoon on your mouth just so you could eat.” Mikasa looked at the Captain blankly and when Levi looked up at her, he narrowed his eyes.
“It's really scary how you sounded like me some times, fine, I'll eat so you brats would shut up.”
The teens' faces lit up as they watch Levi eat, he still doesn't look like his usual self because of what happened but they're all not fine but they also knew that they will be.
“Levi! Captain YN is awake.” Hanji said in between hear breaths, Levi didn't respond and left his unfinished food while the teens followed him, running so they could match his pace.
Levi opened the door of the room and he saw you sitting on the bed, the bandage was still on your head, there was a clueless look on your face when your gaze landed at him and Levi immediately ran to hug you tightly.
You let out a sound of surprise and Levi pulled away thinking that he hurt you. “I'm sorry. Did I hurt you? How are you feeling? Do you remember what happened to us? Do you want some water?” you smiled and shook your head, your gaze landed at the flower vase beside your table and Levi saw how your eyes sparkled when you saw the white Carnation.
“I recognize this flower...” you whispered in a soft voice, you reached out for the flower vase before glancing at the man next to you.
“But I don't know you. Who are you?”
The moment you said that, the teens arrived and they heard everything you said. You heard their gasps and you innocently looked up at them, “Hello kiddos, the nurse told me that I've been out for two weeks. I think I missed something, this man suddenly came in here to hug me.” Armin felt cold sweats on his forehead, he doesn't have any idea how to handle this situation especially they saw how heartbroken Levi is.
“Captain, he's your—” before Jean could even finish his sentence, Levi already cut him off, “Leave, brats. Let me talk to her alone.” you frowned at him before glancing at the kids, “Sir, you're not even suppose to be here. Why are you asking them to leave? I know them.” Eren didn't have to hear Levi's reply to you, he just dragged his friends away from that room, scared of what would happen next.
The room was filled with deafening silence after the teens left, Levi was looking down as his breathing got heavier at every minute that passes by while you were still sat on the bed still looking at him cluelessly.
“You don't have to remember me, just let me take care of you, this is better than losing you completely.” he whispered as he took the flower vase from you, placing it back to where it was. “Do you remember anything aside from the kids? Like how you got injured?” he spoke in a calmest way he could even if he's damn broken inside, the first thing he had imagine once you wake up is you hugging him, telling him that you're not leaving him just like what you've promised but here he is sitting on a chair beside your bed while you don't remember him.
When he didn't get any response from you he decided to stand up as his grey eyes got dulled again, it lost the sparks it has earlier.
“You're probably uncomfortable of having a stranger here. I'll go get the nurse.” he turned his back on you to leave but he heard your voice.
“Levi Ackerman, you'll just leave your girlfriend like this then?”
It only took him three seconds to return to where he was, his arms immediately wrapped around yours as he sobbed on the crook of your neck. “I was at the end of my wits, the whole world can forget about me but not you. Don't pull that shit again.” he scolded, you wanted to chuckle or laugh but you couldn't because you heard his sobs, he's like a child as he hug you tightly as if scared that you'll suddenly disappear.
You slowly pushed him away and wiped away his tears as you comb his hair, brushing off some strands of his hair that's hiding his eyes from you. “Sorry, it was a joke and it's obviously not funny.” Levi sighed as he closed his eyes before a low chuckle escaped from his lips, “I can't believe you even picked up my terrible sense of humour.” he whispered weakly as he pulled you close for another hug. For two hellish weeks he drowned himself in paperworks and in between those times he'll be looking after you while you sleep and it drained him a lot.
“You lost weight.” you stated. You memorized every inch of Levi's body and 2 weeks of being unconscious wouldn't change that fact, you knew that he lost weight, those dark circles around his eyes also suggests the fact that he didn't have lots of sleep.
“You scared me.”
“Where was the guy who told me once that he has nothing to be afraid of 'cause he got nothing to lose?” you brows raised and Levi rolled his eyes before leaning in to kiss you quickly.
“Brat, I have nothing to lose.” He touched your head, his grey eyes looking down on yours as a genuine smile made its way across his lips. “Or at least once had nothing to lose.” he whispered before cupping your face for another kiss, much longer than the first ones, it was also slower as if he's still trying to make sure that everything is real, he's still trying to make sure that his worst nighmare wouldn't happen.
His nightmare where he lost you.

The Rumor Mill: What-If
If Diasomnia spread some concerning rumors about Malleus and El after the events of Chapter 36, and Cater found out about said rumors. Not canon to the main fic. Read at own discretion, as there are uncomfortable topics.
“Oh, look at the time…” Riddle frowned, glancing at the nearby wall clock. “I should get going. Thank you again for letting me eat with you all; I’ll see you later at the dorm.”
He bowed his head politely, awkward as ever with trying to be friendly, and stood- taking his tray and wandering off to put it away. Unfortunately, the second he vanished from sight, the very thing I had been dreading happened. Cater took a deep breath, stood up from his seat, and then opened his olive green eyes- slamming his hands down on the table and leaning over to stare me down, causing me to lean back instinctively while letting out a tiny squeak of alarm.
I barely grabbed onto Deuce’s sleeve to stop myself from falling, and Ace’s hand reached out almost habitually to rest against my back. I wasn’t sure whether to be happy or upset about it. The boys reacting so quickly just meant they were used to me getting hurt, after all, which probably explained how Ace was able to catch me so fast the other day when I fell through the floor.
Trey raised his eyebrows at Cater, surprised by his behavior, while Grim looked confused at the sudden disturbance.
“Ellie,” The strawberry blond third-year said, voice low and very much serious, “we need to talk.”
Frick. Oh gods. My voice wavered a little, warm rising to my cheeks as I thought about all the new and incredibly disturbing rumors that he must have heard. It’s only been two days, yet rumors travel ridiculously fast here. I blame magic. Is there a way to escape from this conversation? Can I just get up and leave?
No. No, calm down. Whatever the rumors are, they’re just rumors. There’s nothing to worry about, though I still don’t particularly like the idea of having my dignity questioned. “I-I don’t know what there is to talk about?”
“Cater...” Trey started, voice taking on a warning tone, believing the teen was up to another one of his flirtatious antics. “Sit back down.”
Cater held a hand up, silencing the surprised vice dorm head, his intense gaze never once looking away from my alarmed one. “Hold on. This is super important. I need to know the truth.”
“Truth of what?” Ace demanded, starting to stand up himself, sitting on one knee. “Don’t get so close to her-”
“Quiet, Ace!” Cater snapped. The entire table was stunned quiet. The strawberry blond let out an aggravated, shaky sigh, and ran a hand through his bangs, taking a deep breath. “Sorry. I’m not- I don’t want to be mean. I’m not trying to be uncool or anything, but- I meant it when I said this is important.”
Ace didn’t say anything in response at first, not knowing what he should say, and hesitantly sat back down. “O-Okay…”
“Ellie.” Cater began, fingers digging into the tabletop as he pressed his hands against it once more. He bit his lip, before shaking his head and focusing on me once more. “Have you heard the new rumors about you? Any of them? Like, at all?”
“N-No…”
“Ellie, you… you have friends in Diasomnia. I’m a little jealous, admittedly, but I’m okay with that.” He inhaled sharply and retreated, pressing his palms together and then grasping at his arms, seeming to retreat inwards to himself. “You need protection in a place like this, and powerful friends are a good way to get it. The stronger, the better. I don’t mind you using me either if you need help.”
Where is… this going? I wasn’t expecting this kind of speech at all.
“But…” Cater’s face twisted into something uncharacteristically grim, his brows furrowing as a few strands of hair fell against his cheeks, the boy seeming to have gone a bit pale. “But if they’re hurting you or… doing something you’re not okay with, then you need to tell us. Okay?”
“Wh-What are you… I don’t… huh?” I’m so lost. “I have zero idea as to what you’re talking about. I mean, I appreciate the gesture, and I’ll definitely ask for help now after everything that’s happened, but… I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
All his self control seemed to vanish, a single word bursting out from his lips, olive green eyes wide in a panic. He slammed his hands on the table again, a knee on the bench. “Malleus!”
...Oh.
“You- with him- the two of you… you know!”
Wait, what?
“He-! Ugh!” Cater let out a noise of frustration before leaning over even further, cupping a hand over his mouth, everyone else at the table moving closer to hear what he was saying, practically hunching over, intrigued and concerned all at once as the teen whispered. “Did you…”
Hm?
“Did you fuck Malleus Draconia?”
I blinked, utterly dumbfounded. At first I thought I heard wrong, but the reactions of the other boys told me otherwise, and a very strong mixture of indignation, horror, embarrassment, and alarm washed over me. I reeled back, greatly disturbed.  “W-What!? No! I-I don’t even know what he looks like!”
That clearly didn’t matter, though, as Ace’s red eyes whirled around to look at me. “Is that what happened!? Is that why he gave you those clothes!?”
“No! Nothing happened! I already told you, I don’t know why he did!”
“Wait, Malleus gave you clothes?” Cater was even more scared now, and Trey wore a near identical expression. “Why did he give you clothes!? Are you two actually- Ellie, when was this!? Since when were you two a thing!? Is this from when you went to his class the one day? I told you not to talk to him! Now you’re actually… with him of all people-!”
Grim stopped eating his chicken and glanced up, swallowing his food, and flicked his tail. “What does “fuck” mean? I thought it was just another curse word...”
“No!” I let out an indignant screech, hunching over and clamping my hands over my ears. “I-I never spoke with him! I… I didn’t do anything with him! I’ve only met his bodyguards, I swear! I don’t know why he gave me clothes, he just did! How many times do I have to say it!?”
“Great Seven, please help us.” Cater pressed a hand to his face, sweat beading down his forehead. “Ellie, just tell us the truth. We need to know.”
“I am telling you the truth!”
Cater suddenly jolted, as if a realization occurred to him. He became serious again, leaning over and gripping the edge of the table tightly. “Did he force you? Were you threatened? I already sort of figured that was the case, given what you said before about relationships. I-I don’t think that we can do anything against him, but if we talk to the headmaster or the teachers then maybe-”
“Cater!” He tensed, startled by the sharpness of my tone. Everyone at the table froze as well, stunned by the glare I wore on my face. Tears were stinging my eyes at this point. “I. Am. Fine. I didn’t do anything. I don’t even know Malleus. I only know Lilia, and Silver, and Sebek. One of them told Malleus about my situation, and he gifted me the clothes! It was literally just a set of pajamas. That’s seriously all I know.”
Please, just stop with this. I don’t even know how the rumors escalated to that point in such a short amount of time. They were far from what I was expecting. If anything, I would have thought the rumors would have been about Mr. Horns and not his prince of a friend. Jeez. Give a girl a break.
Cater hesitated, staring deep into my eyes for several long and suffocating seconds, before letting out a sigh and relaxing his shoulders. “Okay… I believe you. I just- I have a lot of friends from all the different dorms, and word gets around quick here. Especially when it’s about you. I wanted to find you earlier to ask about it, but I… I wanted to make sure that I understood the rumors correctly.”
“I’m fine.” I awkwardly reached out to pat him on the shoulder, having to stand up to do so. “I… I didn’t… do anything with anyone, either. Sorry for freaking you out.”
“El.” Trey spoke up. “You know you can talk to us, right?”
“Yeah, I know.” I flashed a small grin. “Thanks. But I swear- nothing happened. For the last time, I don’t even know what Malleus looks like.”
A hand suddenly clamped down on my head from above and I squeaked, being forcibly shoved into a headlock by Ace as he noogied my skull. “You freaking little-! You stress us out more than anyone else I’ve ever known!”
“I’m sorry-! I-It’s not intentional, I swear!”
“Is no one going to explain what “fuck” means?” Grim grumbled, glaring at everyone. “I’m the only one confused about this conversations! What does it mean? What happened with Malleus?”
Trey settled for patting the cat monster on the head, an exasperated and exhausted grin upon his lips. “Don’t worry about it. Nothing happened. It was just one great big misunderstanding. Go back to eating.”
Grim clicked his tongue irritably, but did as told. Deuce, meanwhile, was completely frozen- and I think the majority of the conversation flew over his head. When he finally could move again, he blanked and asked what just happened, as if having completely erased the entire accusation from memory.
Cater slumped down in his seat, head collapsing against Trey’s shoulder, and he let out a sigh of relief. “I’ve been stressing all day over that… ugh, I hate it.”
“That’s why you should stay away from the rumor mill.” Trey informed, bonking him lightly upside the head with the handle of his spoon. “Now move; I gotta put my tray away.”
“At least give me a few comforting headpats first! Or a sweet little kiss on the cheek, you know- for being so concerned about our new freshie?”
“No.”
“Trey~ you’re so mean to me~!”
The third year rolled his eyes and stood, shaking Cater off of him with a small smirk, and wandering off. After that, things returned mostly to normal- if not for Ace practically glaring at anyone who so much as looked my way. I was just accompanying the boys to their classes at this point, too anxious to wander off and take photos now after that awful conversation.

The Dreaded Finals - Kuroo x Dumbass Reader -
Word Count: 2.3k
With finals quickly approaching you dreaded for your impending doom. Having barely studied the entire semester and getting just passing grades, both you and Kuroo were rather anxious about the finals. (The title is me. I’m the dumbass reader.)
A/n
This story was brought to you by me procrastinating on studying for finals even though its literally a week away. I should study Physics and Biology right now but I can’t be bothered at all. Anyways, as always I hope you guys enjoy the first Haikyuu post here.
Tumblr media
“THEN WHAT THE HELL IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SERIES AND SEQUENCE IF THEY USE THE SAME FORMULAS???” What is math.
You threw your hand up and Kuroo looked at you, exhausted but amused at how idiotic you actually were.
This morning you were just reminded by your boyfriend, Kuroo that tomorrow was the math finals.
How you forgot the dates for finals was beyond him. Cue panicking over not understanding a single thing taught in math.
Him being the kind boyfriend he was, offered to teach you the formulas and do some example questions with you. Though at first, he thought it wasn’t going to be that hard, your scores weren’t amazing, but they were passing.
From your test answers, he noticed how you already understood the formulas. You just had trouble applying them and putting the right formulas on the right questions.
But he realized pretty quickly, you were just incredibly lucky.
“So, for geometric and arithmetic they have 2 formulas for each so its 4 formulas all together I think you already know that-“
“Wait there’s 4??” Kuroo looked up at you from the paper slowly, completely dumbfounded how you didn’t know there was 4. “Ok stop looking at me like that HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?”
Kuroo pitifully smiled and ruffled your hair. “How did you even pass this test if you didn’t know there were 4 formulas??” He actually was amazed at how you graduated from Junior High.
“Well I just guessed around, plus sitting beside smart students help a lot you know.” You nudged over towards Kuroo. A sly smile decorating your features.
He shook his head, amused at the fact that you somehow cheated on every single test but STILL get a BARELY passing score.
“Ok so, this is how it works.” He then spent close to one and a half hour explaining everything about ONE out of the four topics you had to study that day.
Thankfully you seemed to be focused to be learning everything, he was actually surprised at the fact that you were enthusiastic to try and understand everything.
Now was the hard topic. It was close to 8pm and you finished 3 topics, but the last one. Algebraic expressions.
“Yea no, you know what. I’m just going to stop here and hope this doesn’t come up that much tomorrow.” He laughed out loud at your reaction when he showed you his notes.
Your hand tangled in your hair with your eyes wide open, completely baffled at the satanic writing in front of you. “This doesn’t even look like math anymore.”
Sighing, you planted your head on his desk. He grabbed both your shoulders and shook you lightly as a small way of trying to cheer you up. “At least you already understood the other topics, algebra’s hard, don’t be too hard on yourself.” He tried motivating you.
Kuroo was one of the most supportive boyfriends you could ever ask for, whenever it came to you trying out new things or you trying to study. He was always there to support you and sometimes tease you whenever you needed a laugh.
Kuroo smiled fondly over at you, there was something about you that always captivated him. Even in situations like these where you’re frustrated or just plain annoyed, he always saw you as incredible.
He admired you as well, although sure your grades weren’t something that would qualify for Harvard or Oxford. He admired that you still tried, albeit you procrastinated a lot. He’s never seen you fully give up and come to something completely unprepared.
You were always working on your flaws, whether you realized it or not. And for that he admired you. “Can we just hang out now? You’re very deserving of a break.”
Truthfully, he just wanted to have a soft cuddle session with you on the bed until you realized you had to go home, before your parents start calling the police. Much to his disappointment, you shook your head and opened your phone to check the time.
“Can’t. My parents already texted me, asking where I am.” You muttered, already beginning to take your books and notebooks. “Thank you for teaching me though, you’re the best.”
You gave him a light peck on his lips as you stood. Successfully making the volleyball captain grin. “Love you, wish me luck for tomorrow.”
~
The next day came and it was no surprise that he was actually worried for you. As always, you arrived in class one minute before the teacher came in.
Before the test papers were handed out Kuroo saw you look back at his seat 2 rows behind you and grinned largely.
How the fuck were you so calm.
Even he was stressing a little bit internally. He felt like he didn’t prepare enough.
When the tests were handed out his eyes widened. From what he saw by skimming the questions, close to 75% of it was algebraic expressions.
Something both of you deliberately skipped last night. Safe to say the entire time he was doing the test he snuck glances over to you, trying to see if you were panicking or not.
Although, even if you were, he wouldn’t be able to see it since your back was facing him. For some reason, it was panicking him a lot that he didn’t spend the time to teach you.
What happens if you fail?
He knows your parents were rather strict on grades. They agreed as long as it was a passing grade you would be safe from a punishment.
But what if you failed?
Would your parents stop you from visiting him?
Or worse, what if they confiscated your phone?
How was he going to text you flustering pick-up lines in ungodly hours of night?
Even through all of the stress pile up and him panicking every time he read a new question and it was still algebraic expressions. He somehow finished the entire test on time.
The only good thing that comes from finals are, no other subjects, and you get to go home early. Lunch time came as soon as the test ended and the bell rang.
Kuroo immediately went to your table, “Damn, we should’ve studied algebraic expressions huh cutie?”
He patted your head lightly. He wanted to tease you, making sure you smiled at something if you were feeling down at the unlucky test questions.
What he didn’t expect you to do was giggle. “Damnit, I probably used up all my luck in my other tests.” You barely seemed bothered by the high chance you might get a failed score on math FINALS. “Maybe next time I’ll listen to you more.”
You grinned ear to ear, standing up from your chair to kiss the rooster head boy on the cheek.
“You coming? I want to meet up with Kenma.” He didn’t even realize you were already leaving the classroom.
The rest of the lunch break was spent with you and him talking about random nonsense, whilst Kenma sits playing his game and adding a few of his own opinions to whatever topic you talked about.
Afterwards it was time for another final test, you and Kuroo took your seats again and began the test.
He again realized; this was difficult. He struggled with a few of the questions. This made him worry again for you.
Not that he wanted assume you were stupid or anything of the kind, you were a pretty smart person when it came to certain subject. Though, other subjects you seem to get a barely passing grade.
Then again, after the test, you didn’t seem bothered by it and barely complained about the question.
The finals week went on and every day the same thing keeps happening.
He’d help you study but would have to cut a few things from each topic short because you had to go home. The next day the test would have you write the answers completely and in depth, he’d get worried you won’t be able to do it. As always, after the test.
You didn’t seem shocked or even bothered.
You didn’t even talk about the finals when you were hanging out, you wouldn’t talk about the questions or even discuss the questions you didn’t understand with him.
He was perplexed by you. One day you were panicking because you didn’t understand math at all, the next you seemed terrifyingly calm after doing something you supposedly can’t do.
You didn’t speak about the finals for the next week either, it was when the last week of school finally came that the moment of truth is revealed.
All the test papers would be given back to the students.
Since this was finals to determine if you’d make it to your third year, everyone seemed antsy. Even Kuroo himself was scared to see his score, passing was one thing, his expectations for himself was another thing.
He looked over to you, and again. You seemed,
Oddly calm
No nervous foot tapping, ghost piano playing on your table, or even your fingers fidgeting with each other.
Nothing.
Completely calm
It was unnerving, he’s never seen you that calm before.
You’ve always been someone who matched his energetic lifestyle, so seeing you so quiet and calm was… creepy.
The test papers are finally given back to the students, and the teacher left the classroom.
A range of emotions swept through the class, some crying, others cheering. Kuroo sighed in relief. His scores just reached his own expectations.
He walked over to your table and saw you clutching the paper close to your chest. Readying for the worst, he waited for an outburst of emotion.
Then he saw it.
The first few tears that came out of your eyes. His heart immediately broke at the sight.
He knew you worked hard and didn’t procrastinate the whole week of finals, although you did before. You always made up for it by studying extra hard a day before finals.
He took his palm and wiped a few of your tears. “Oi, cutie, come on give me a smile. Grades don’t mean everything. Plus, I bet that one subject you love you got a really good score on.”
He took your chin on his right hand and lightly pulled it up to look at him.
His eyes widening with little bit of fear. You were SMILING???
Seeing his shocked expression made you laugh really loudly whilst wiping the tears. You put all of your test papers on your table for him to see.
Every one of your finals you didn’t only get a passing score.
But every one of them were above 85.
You got a 90 for math.
“I DID IT!!!” You enthusiastically yelled and stood up abruptly.
You hugged Kuroo, whilst the table between the two of you made the position a little bit awkward. He leaned into your touch, still confused though.
When you pulled away you laughed at his ridiculously confused expression. You sighed in contempt and sat back down at your chair.
“I slept for 2 hours every single night, just to study. When I come back home from your house, I’d still study. I’d try to understand every single thing we didn’t touch on before.” Your eyes glimmered with a sense of pride.
A new kind of admiration filled his heart as he listened to his beautiful lover talk about all the things they did to help them memorize everything.
You were lost in your own explanation that it took you a while to realize Kuroo was looking at you with the most love-struck expression. “Pffftt, what’s that face.” When he realized he was staring he immediately looked away and blushed.
“Hey hey hey!! I thought you were the teasing one in this relationship.” You continued to tease him whilst laughing.
Kuroo looked back at you and gave you one of the most genuine smiles you’ve ever seen. Successfully making you stop talking, “You’re incredible.”
He said out of nowhere. It amazed you at how Kuroo was able to say those kinds of things with a straight face. You awkwardly laughed at his comment, “You inspired me you know?” His head cocked to the side with curiosity. “I thought to myself, you deserved a smarter lover. So, I wanted to get really good scores this year.”
Oh, if only you knew how much YOU inspired HIM to be a better person. Since it was time to go home anyways, Kuroo took your bag with his and dragged you across the hallways.
“Where the hell are we going???” You were utterly confused.
Kuroo didn’t even reply, he just ran all the way back to his home and his room. You threw off your shoes as quickly as possible whilst he was still pulling you.
He pulled you on his bed with him and immediately cuddled close.
“The fuck?” It wasn’t as if you didn’t like it.
You just were… confused
“You said you haven’t been getting enough sleep so we’re taking a nap right now. I won’t take no for an answer chibi-chan. If you do say no, I’ll just keep bragging about my scores until you’ll sleep just to get away from me.”
You scoffed, “I’d never fall asleep with THAT kind of bedtime story.”
Kuroo looked down at you, “Well, first off I got a 98 in math, it wasn’t hard. I saw that question 4 you got it wrong and the way to actually do it is-”
“Go to hell, I’d rather sleep.” His signature hyena laugh filled the room.
Adorable as always.
“Then go to sleep cutie.”
You hummed in agreement and put your hands around his torso, whilst he to yours. His chin resting on the top of your head and you nuzzling into his broad chest.
This was the perfect end to finals week.

Jealousy (NCT’s Lee Tae Yong (Taeyong) x male!reader)
Tumblr media

Written by: Admin N
Jaehyun and me had been friends even before his debut. And even after he became a part of NCT and his schedule got busy with practice, concerts and photoshootings, he always kept contact with me, kept inviting me over to his place, as he couldn‘t roam around too freely anymore. Fame came with a prize, after all. But I loved visiting him. It was at his dorm that I met and fell in love with my boyfriend, Taeyong. His sharp features and strong gaze quickly caught my attention, and his kind personality and appreciation for art, as well as his cute fads made me fall for him. I still remember when I volunteered helping Taeyong clean up after a big dinner he had cooked for everyone, because I wanted to be close to my crush. Jaehyun, well aware of the feelings I had for the older rapper, ushered the rest of the band out of the kitchen. I can‘t remember exactly how Taeyong and me went from scrubbing cooking oil off the stove to having our first kiss that evening, but that was what happened.
Of course, after that, my visits at NCT’s dorm became a habit. Jaehyun and Haechan were generously taking in Johnny when I slept in Taeyong’s room. I was glad that the other guys didn’t mind having a gay couple amongst them.
Me and Jaehyun’s year long friendship and closeness, however, sometimes made Taeyong anxious.
“Jaehyun is really good at basketball, isn’t he?”, he would ask. “Do you sometimes play together?” I weighed my head from left to right. “Sometimes.”
“Jagiya, do you like taller guys?” The sudden change in topic made me suspect he was comparing himself to Jaehyun.
“I like you, Taeyong. Exactly the way you are.” I kissed him and he pulled me closer, humming softly into my ear.
“Y/N, did you again go swimming with Jaehyun in the morning?” I knew he wasn’t asking casually, because some nervous shadow would lie in his gaze when he asked those questions.
It only happened occasionally, so I didn’t expect my friendship with Jaehyun to turn into the biggest drama of Taeyong’s and mine happy relationship. Until the day before NCT’s new album promotions. The promotions were only the starting shot of a two-month-long marathon consisting of photoshoots, fanmeetings, concerts, and practice, practice, practice for the band, so that was going to be my last evening with my boyfriend and Jaehyun for a while.
We were having a party at a locality of SM Entertainment, to have enough space and of course, Jaehyun drank a lot, because he can handle it. I got drunk myself, so my memory of the evening is blurry after some point. Taeyong can’t drink too much, I remember that he and WinWin left to buy snacks or something. Then there’s a cut in my memory. Next thing I know is me and Jaehyun singing, arm in arm, everyone laughing and partying, the music still loud. Another cut. Silence around us, Jaehyun was standing up to his waist in the indoor pool, which we had all to ourselves. I was sitting on the rim, splashing my feet into the water. I remember that I told him that he was too drunk to swim. He just laughed and came closer.
“Y/N, don’t worry, I’m with you, nothing can happen!”, he called out enthusiastically and pulled me into the water.
“Jaehyun, I hate you!”, I shrieked, splashing water at him, not caring too much about my wet pants.
“Y/N, I love you!”, Jaehyun laughed and then, in the heat of the moment, he kissed me. It was short and innocent, just a peck on the lips and when we pulled apart my surprise was reflecting in his face.
“Sorry, Y/N.”
“It’s okay, let’s just get out of the pool.” I felt a bit sobered. Holy shit, we both had had too much.
In the end, I called a taxi to go home. Taeyong hadn’t returned, wasn’t answering his phone, and I was too drunk, tired and disappointed about him not showing up to stay any longer. Also, Jaehyun and me felt it was time to call it a day.
I awoke in the afternoon at home. When I checked my phone, I was surprised to neither find any message from Taeyong nor Jaehyun. But after all, they had their intense schedule from today on, so probably both of them were busy. I messaged my boyfriend, telling him that I had arrived home safely after the party, that I was already missing him and asked him for a phone call in the evening. When I remembered the scene in the pool with me and Jaehyun, I also texted my friend, apologized, and assured him that nothing was awkward between us. I knew we had been very drunk.
While Jaehyun answered me back late at night with an apology as well and some friendly jokes and stickers, Taeyong hadn’t even read my messages.
When I still hadn’t received any reaction from him the next morning, I tried to call him. I tried again at lunchtime, in the afternoon, in the evening, and a last time before going to bed. He never picked up. He didn’t read my messages. What the fuck had happened? Had he lost his phone? Ignoring the knot forming in my stomach, I shot Jaehyun a message, asking whether Taeyong was with the group and whether he might have lost his phone. An amused Jaehyun confirmed Taeyong’s presence, as well as the wellbeing of my boyfriend’s phone.
The knot in my stomach reappeared. What was wrong, why didn’t Taeyong answer me? I checked his Instagram, but he hadn’t updated anything so far. An anxious feeling that something was going on came over me, making it hard for me to fall asleep.
How little did I expect that moment that this anxiousness was just the beginning of weeks of tears and agony. Taeyong didn’t answer any of my phone calls. After a few days my messages appeared as “read”, but every text and voice message I sent afterwards was being ignored again. The band was not at their dorm, I couldn‘t go and try to talk to him in person. Every time he updated his Instagram account, my heart ached. There he was, just smiling into the camera, looking so perfect in his makeup and fancy outfits, every time with a different bandmate next to him. He never reacted to any of my comments under the photos neither.
Jaehyun only answered with delays, so until I had managed to tell him that Taeyong apparently had started to hate me without reason, three weeks of me crying myself to sleep had already passed.
I finally managed to get my friend on the phone and explain my dilemma.
Jaehyun sounded exhausted, but alert when he told me that he had noticed Taeyong mostly withdrawing into himself lately, listening to music during brakes, not interacting with the rest of the group.
“I haven’t talked to him one on one since promotions started, actually. I’ll try to talk to him tomorrow, Y/N, I promise.”
After that, Jaehyun didn’t get back to me for some days, in fact. I felt like I was going crazy. Just when I started to try finding out their current location over the band member’s social media, he finally called me.
“Y/N, so sorry, it’s been ages. Actually, they separated us to take individual shootings, and then we had the fanmeeting recently, so I could only talk to Taeyong today.” He cleared his voice.
“So...” In this tiny break, my heart stopped. I didn’t like how serious he sounded. Or was it just exhaustion?
“So, Taeyong is really pissed off for some reason. When I tried to ask him why he wasn’t talking to you anymore, he snapped. ‘As if you wouldn’t know! Don’t act all innocent Jaehyun!’ Then he just left me. I was dumbfounded, I don’t know Taeyong-hyung like that at all.”
I bit my lip. My thoughts were racing. Why was he angry at Jaehyun?
“Taeyong started ignoring me right after the party.”, I said.
“He’s angry at us both, apparently?”, Jaehyun added. There was silence on the line for some seconds.
“Do you think, Y/N… he saw me kissing you in the pool?”, Jaehyun’s voice was tiny and I felt my blood rushing into my feet. I sat down, my head was spinning.
“We were just drunk. It was just…”
“Is he that jealous?”, Jaehyun inquired.
“He sometimes asked about our friendship… Never directly, but I think he sometimes was worrying whether I might actually have a thing for you. Because we’re so close.”
Jaehyun cursed.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry.”
I was fighting back tears.
“I want to talk to him.”, I said. Jaehyun let out a breath.
“We’re going back to Seoul tomorrow, as our concert there is in three days. Come to our dorm, we’ll explain this to him together.”
I couldn‘t sleep that night. It had been almost two months of silence between me and Taeyong. He must have seen that kiss. But instead of confronting me and giving me a chance to explain, he had just decided do be upset and grudgingly ignore me. I got angry in frustration and worry and kept tossing and turning around in my bed.
The dorm was quiet when Jaehyun opened the door. WinWin was sleeping on the couch, and Johnny waved at me with a curious expression on his face. He said nothing though, only gave me a thumbs up.
“I sketched out our problem to him”, Jaehyun explained, “after all, we need Taeyong alone.” My friend nodded towards Taeyong’s door.
My hands were sweaty when I opened the door of Taeyong’s and Johnny’s room. I found my boyfriend sitting on his bed, leaning against the wall, headphones covering his ears. When he saw me and Jaehyun, his eyes grew wide and a cascade of emotions shot through them – surprise, anger, sorrow, confusion, longing, disappointment – before he closed his eyes and turned his head away.
“You’re in the wrong room, you two. Why would you bring your boyfriend here, Jaehyun? To make fun of me?”
His words were like a punch to the stomach. Me and Jaehyun exchanged glances. Boyfriend?
I sat down next to Taeyong while Jaehyun kept standing.
“Taeyong.” My voice was soft while my heart started hammering in my chest. “You’re angry at me and Jaehyun… Did you… did you see us in the pool at the party before your promotions?”
His head spun around, his eyes locked with mine, burning with anger and accusation. He firmly pushed his headphones down.
“Yeah, I was looking for my boyfriend and instead found you and Jaehyun kiss and being all lovey-dovey back then!”, he spat into my face, furiosly shooting glances in Jaehyun’s direction.
“So, congratualtions on finally having the boyfriend you wanted all along! For what reason did you actually date me then, Y/N? Make yourself look interesting to your life-long-best-friend? Show him that you’re actually into men, subtle signalling and so on?”
Taeyong leaned closer to me and I leaned back. I could feel that he had kept all this bottled up until now, the space between us was brimming with his anger.
“He’s taller than me, he’s younger than me, he’s been close to you for ages, his body is gorgeous-”
Jaehyun made an uncomfortable sound.
“Jagi, no” I firmly interrupted when I saw tears forming in Taeyong’s eyes.
“Me and Jaehyun are not dating! And we never will!”
“We were both super drunk that night.”, Jaehyun added quickly. “I got carried away, Y/N said he hated me, well, so I said I loved him and to stress my drunk rambling, pecked him on the lips. It was not even a proper kiss! There’s nothing going on between us. We were just being two stupid, very drunk friends!”
Taeyong suspiciously looked from me to Jaehyun and back.
“But you… called with Y/N so many times, Jaehyun...”
“Because Y/N was crying to me about you not answering him!” Haehyun rolled his eyes.
Taeyong paused, his furious energy faded.
“Why didn’t you confront me, Taeyong?”, I asked gently.
He hesitated. “I… didn’t want to intrude into your newfound happiness. I just wanted to forget.”
Jaehyun moaned.
“You could’ve saved everyone a lot of emotional distress, Hyung!” My boyfriend bit his lip.
“I love you, Taeyong.”, I said, carefully taking his hand. “Jaehyun is just a friend and will always be. Please forgive us the accident at the pool.”
“It really had no meaning at all!”, Jaehyun insisted.
Taeyong interlaced his fingers with mine, avoiding my eyes.
“So… you still want to be me boyfriend, Y/N, even though I’m a jerk?” He seemed embarrassed.
“Well yes of course!”, I insisted and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek. I felt so relieved to have him back. Taeyong squeezed my hand before letting his head sink against my shoulder. Jaehyun smiled at us, then left with an apologetic nod.
“I love you too, Y/N”, Taeyong said as soon as the door had closed behind him, “I missed you a lot. I’m sorry for ignoring you.”

Would you do a short part 2 to the roommate au showing what happens after MJ opens the door?? Xxx
okay, so, i promised you would all get a part 2 of the roommates au thing. well, here it is. YOU GREEDY MINIONS. sometimes stories have an ambiguous ending and that’s okay lololol. but not this day. ahem. part 2.
she opens the door with puffy, red eyes. she’s swimming in one of his old decathlon shirts. and he’s not sure how he didn’t know he was in love with her before today. she is so singular. so MJ. of course he loves her.
she blinks at him and then rolls her eyes, “this is your apartment, peter. you have keys.” he blanches and stumbles for some kind of reply that doesn’t make him look pathetic (answer: there is none). he settles on clearing his throat and saying, “i didn’t want to disturb you.” “no,” she narrows her eyes, “you wanted to make a dramatic entrance.”
she’s not wrong. he flushes. and she sadly crosses her arms over her chest. she suddenly cannot meet his eyes and he hates that. the best part of mj is her eyes. she can say so much with just one look. they are transparent and perfect. she gnaws on her lip nervously, ripping at the skin, “so….how’s gwen?” and he realizes that she thinks he’s still with gwen. that she’s back in the boat of being single and him being hopelessly in love with someone who isn’t her.
he shrugs and pockets his hand, awkwardness dripping off of him, “she’s pissed.” MJ flinches, “i’m sorry….i didn’t mean to…..we can just pretend we didn’t say that stuff….i don’t want to hurt her….” “she’s pissed,” peter presses on, “because she realized that i, uh, wanted you. not her. actually, she, uh, dumped me.”
mj’s head snaps up and he meets her eyes. they are filled with tears brimming to fall. she didn’t want him to see. that’s why she didn’t look at him. his heart shakes at the foundations. “no,” she whispers, “i didn’t want that.” “mj,” he tries. “no,” she says louder, “god damn it, peter. you just had to go and blow this whole thing up.” he takes four long strides into their apartment backing her up and slamming their front door closed behind him.
she jumps at the volume of the door. he does not keep his distance. he is an arm’s length away from her. she needs to know. no, he needs her to know. it’s not easy. the feelings between them and all that they could change. but the clock has run out on them pretending that friendship is enough. it’s not.
“em, this isn’t working for me anymore.” “who says you get to decide what works for us? huh?” she snaps. he runs his hands through his hair, anxious and exhausted. “i want you,” he admits. she balks and shakes, “that’s impossible.” “says who??” he demands. softer, he repeats, “says who? because i am looking at you right now and my heart is leaping out of my chest. my stupid heart knows its yours. yours to have, to love…to break. its all yours. and i’m done pretending otherwise. i’m tired.”
her bottom lip goes, nearly descending into tears, “you don’t get to be tired. you don’t get to be exhausted. i have known for years, peter. for years. you’ve only just caught up to speed. don’t talk to me about being tired.”
“okay,” he puts his hands up and takes an experimental step toward her. when all she does is cut him a hard look but she doesn’t shrink away, he takes the last step separating them. he gently caresses her arm and slides his hands down the length of it to grasp at her hands. he gingerly lifts her hands and kisses their enclosed hands as she watches dumbfounded. “okay, you’re right,” he whispers. he stares and continues, “i was…am…an idiot. and i hurt you. and gwen. and i’m sorry.”
“you only want me because of Harry,” she tries to pull her hands from him. and he only grips them more fiercely. “no,” peter says firmly, “okay, fine, I hated that you were with him. but that’s because…..because….because you know why.”
michelle ducks her head to try and catch his eyes, forcing him to face it. face them. “why?” she gently prods. “because….you know why because, okay?” “please…say it,” she whispers. “why?” he asks. “because if you want to implode our relationship and try whatever-” she squeezes their enclosed hands, “-this is…well, then it better be a for a good damn reason.” after a beat she adds, “and i deserve to hear it.”
and, like always, she hits the nail on the head. peter sighs and finds some of the courage it took for him to knock on the door. when he looks back at her, she looks so shy and nervous and fragile. she is giving him the opportunity to shatter her. she trusts that he won’t. and he doesn’t want to let her down. because….because… “because i love you,” he finally says. and now that he has broken the dam the words keep flowing, “because i love coming home and you’re here. because you are the first person i want to talk to about my day. and the only person i trust with my secrets. because, i swear to god, your laugh has healing powers. it can make the worst day suddenly worth living. and,” he laughs, “damn it, mj, i love you. i love how smart you are and how you burn your toast because you think it tastes better. and i love how you knock me down a peg when i’m being an asshole. and i love the way you look at me. like, fuck, your eyes. don’t get me started on your eyes.” this time she laughs and it revives him so he keeps talking, “if i could only look at one image for the rest of my life it would be you. you are art. you make me feel. feel deeply. and you’re my best friend. and i love that about you the most. because i love you and i like you. and how many people get to say that? and you’re also-”
“okay,” she laughs and closes the gap between them, smothering his yabbering mouth in a kiss. their first. she giggles into his lips, “stop talking.” “i love you,” is all he says back. “i know,” she teases. and peter groans in delight. she’s quoting star wars. she’s perfect.
now that they are kissing, really truly kissing, they cannot seem to stop. it is messy and sloppy as they bump into the furniture they bought together. it is their home. and now they have found a second home in each other.
michelle pushes peter backward on their tattered couch and climbs over him, kissing down the column of his neck. “this isn’t too soon?” she worries as she sucks a hickey into his skin. he tips his head back to give her better access, “when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible….” MJ snaps her head up and playfully swats at his chest, “don’t quote When Harry Met Sally at me.” “you started it,” he argues, pulling her back down for a kiss, “you brought star wars into it.”
she concedes. and they are so anxious for each other, years of pent up frustration boiling over, that they roll off of the couch on to the floor. the writhe and strip away their clothes. and when they couple it is so much better than either of them had ever imagined. and they had both imagined quite a bit.
when its done, mj gulps in air, “jesus christ.” “just peter is fine,” he hums. she rolls her eyes and curls into his side. he kisses the top of her head. mj tosses her leg over his waist, “we are freaky good at that.” “super good,” he agrees. “like, almost criminally good at that,” she adds. he laughs, “i love you.”
she tilts her head up too look him in the eyes and says seriously, “i love you too.” his heart surges and he leans down to kiss her. she presses her finger against his mouth, stopping him. he raises his eyebrow. and she says, “don’t break my heart.” “never,” he kisses her finger, “you’re stuck with me now, Jones.”
later, they will have to get up off of the floor and talk about everything. they will have to face what they did to gwen and harry. and they will get every thought from the last few years all out in the open and, then, move forward together. as a couple. but for now, they lay on their living room floor kissing and making up for all of the lost time.
wasted years. wasted moments. they now have time and room to make new memories together. and its terrifying but thrilling. and when peter kisses her again he knows its all going to be okay.

Tumblr media
“Fuck,” you hissed out, the alcohol stinging like a mother when it hit the gaping hole in your leg. Goddamn black-eyed bitch.
Reaching in the duffle laying open on the passenger seat, you grabbed a semi clean rag and begin to wipe away the excess blood to give you a clearer view.  The laceration wasn’t too deep but it definitely needed stitches, so you got to work.
You were still outside the old house where you had just finished exorcising a demon. You managed to trap her into the house, but it wasn’t without a fight. The bitch had been killing married men after having sex with them. Not that you condoned cheating but it was safe to say murder wasn’t the answer.
You grimaced as your skin pulled taut, remembering how she swiped at you with a kitchen knife. At least it wasn’t a rusty piece of shit ‘cause you could do without the infection.
Unfortunately by the time it was nothing but black smoke, the woman the demon had possessed was too far gone.  Her last gasping, pain filled breaths haunted you as you sewed up your thigh.
Her body was still laying in the basement waiting to be buried.
Just the thought left you exhausted, but it was the least the woman - Diana - deserved. You had come to learn she had been missing for six months, leaving a worried husband and a two-year-old daughter behind. So the moment your patch job was done, you exited your vehicle with a shovel in tow.
An hour later the sun was setting, calling the end of a long-ass day. You were sweaty, caked in freshly turned dirt and injured. All you could think about now was getting your butt back to the motel for a thirty minute shower and a cold beer.
The motel, Sleepy Hills Inn, was not the greatest find in the world. Case in point - the only other cars in the lot when you arrived yesterday were maintenance vans and the front desk manager’s truck. However it was only temporary, until you moved on to the next town. The next case.
You hobbled out of your jeep, taking the duffle with you and headed to room 116. Ten feet away, you froze. Your door was slightly ajar but still too dark to see inside. Dropping the bag, you took the gun out from the back of your pants and aimed straight ahead.
Okay, Y/N. Take a breath. 3, 2, 1…
The door hinges creaked loudly as the wood swayed inward. Nothing immediately jumped on you so you fumbled with the wall on your right until your fingers hit the light switch.
“What the hell?”
Everything you’d left in the room was tossed. It looked like a hurricane went through it. Books lay haphazardly on the ground by the table, your clothes strewn around the room, bed sheets ripped away. You were dumbfounded.
Quickly checking the rest of the room, you found you were indeed alone. Glancing here to there, you stopped when you spotted the hunting knife embedded into the wall. It was holding up a picture. You got closer and made it out to be a picture of a young girl with deep brown hair and eyes the brightest shade of blue you’d ever seen.  It was your sister.
Sara.
Air left your lungs in one fell swoop. You yanked the knife out of the wall, taking the photograph in your hands. It was old, the edges bent this way and that. An elementary school photo. She was smiling proudly for the camera, wearing her favorite Guns N Roses shirt which had actually been a hand-me-down of yours.
It’d been close to a decade since you had seen her. The obvious threat scared you more than anything had in years. What did this mean? Who was threatening you?
You brought your left hand up to swipe at a stray hair tickling your cheek, but stopped short when you saw the black ink smudges on your fingertips. Flipping the photo over, your heart beat even faster. Newly written was a note.
You take my family, I’ll take yours.
Your mind raced with the possibilities of who - or what - could have left this behind for you to find. As far as people go, you don’t interact with anyone non-case related. Save for the occasional one night stand. Certainly nothing to warrant such a threat.
And as for monsters, it’d frankly been kind of dry. The demon you had exorcised today was your only action this month. The month before included a wraith, a demon and two ghosts.
You began to panic when you came up blank.
“Come on Y/N. Family… family…”
You paced the small motel room, no longer able to remain still. In the process you almost fell face first when you tripped over an abandoned shoe. You’re reminded of the hurricane of a room then. Staying here wasn’t safe.
With that in mind, you gathered your things quickly and packed the jeep.
Driving down the empty road, usually so relaxing, had you unsettled. You began to think back even farther, grasping for anything that stuck out to you. The information you had was just so vague. Before you started to tear up, you pulled out your phone and began calling some hunter connections. People you’ve worked with in the past year.
“Sierra, hey it’s Y/N. It’s been awhile.”
“Hey sugar! What can I do you for?”
“Have you had anything strange happen lately? I mean, besides the normal strange.”
Sierra hummed on the other end before replying. “Nothing stands out. Why?”
You shook your head. “Don’t worry about it. Let me know if something comes up, yeah?”
Five similar conversations later, you didn’t know what to do. Where to go. You still stunk to high heaven and now your leg had been throbbing for the past hour. Plus it had been at least 12 hours since you last ate.
A bleary look at the clock told you it’s way past your bedtime. Sighing, you got off at the next exit and stopped at the first motel you saw.
The hot water of the shower scalded your skin but your were far from caring. You scrubbed all the dirt off of your body, mindful of your injury. You felt much better afterward and dressed for bed. The cookies you got from the vending machine were stale, the tap water tasted metallic and your comforter had an obvious stain on it, but you were so exhausted you overlooked it and climbed in - ready to get a few hours of sleep before continuing on in the morning.
The other end of the call continued to ring, frustrating you. You tried once more as you waited for the jeep’s tank to fill up.
“Come on David, answer the damn phone,” you growled out. When it continued with no answer, you left a simple ‘call me’ message and snapped the phone shut.
The gas shuddered to a stop with a thump and you quickly went inside the Gas-N-Sip to pay, grabbing a soda and a pre-made sandwich as you did.
The cashier gave you an odd look when you came to the counter. No doubt she saw the busted lip and bruised cheekbone. The life of a hunter.
You simply gave her a smile and a line about a rough roller derby practice and continued on your way.
Getting a sinking feeling when David continued to not answer you back all morning, you headed for his house. Unlike you, and many others, David had a permanent residence in Indiana. It wasn’t much. A small cabin out in the middle of nowhere. You yourself only knew about it because of a close call with a werewolf in that area about three years ago. David brought you to the cabin and patched you up.
It took all day to make the drive, but you finally were in view of the front lawn a quarter past eight. There weren’t any lights visible from the front as you got out of the jeep. You tucked your gun in the back of your jeans and made your way to the front door, a bad feeling in your gut.
“David?”
The front door was unlocked. You immediately took your gun out. Your heart was pounding so hard you could hear it. With a quick swallow, you pushed the door open and entered.
Faint moonlight broke in through the windows making it significantly easier to see where you were stepping.
The front room was a hurricane, just like at your motel. Papers were strewn everywhere and furniture upturned.
“D-David?” You called out again. No answer.
You turned the corner of the crooked couch leading toward the small kitchen but stopped in your tracks at the sight of a body on the floor.
“No,” you whispered. Frantically searching for the light switch, you stumbled around the form for the kitchen doorway. The lights flicked on happily, burning its bright fluorescent bulbs. You immediately gagged at the view.
David laid unnaturally on the living room carpet, his eyes wide open in a fixed stare. His skin was ghastly pale. And his throat was practically ripped out. He had to have been dead at least a day. Taking a closer look, it became obvious what had done this: Vampire.
You and David had decimated a vampire nest last year up in Wisconsin. Seven of them were killed by the two of you. It was actually a pretty smooth hunt. But what if you had missed one?
The pieces were beginning to come together now.
You pulled Sara’s picture out of your back pocket, caressing the paper. If anything happened to her because of what you did…
You had to find her. But you couldn’t possibly do it alone. Resources were scarce for you and your recent injury hardly left you equipped to take on a creature as stealth as a vamp.
But you knew a pair of hunters that had all kinds of resources.
The phone shook in your hand as you dialed the number, unsure it was even still good.
“Yeah?”
You blew out an anxious breath. “Sam Winchester?”
“You got ‘em.”
“I’m cashing in that favor you owe me.”
