I love both versions of Eric Draven.

Yeah that’s right I said BOTH. Both versions of the crow bring different things to the table and I understand being a bit biased due to nostalgia, but just cuz you don’t like it doesn’t give you the right to shit on everyone involved with the movie without giving it a chance or at least acknowledging that it’s at least gonna urge/encourage younger generations to go look for the og film which should be considered a good thing cuz it means more ppl are gonna discover how amazing the crow as a whole is.

I’m elder gen z and was introduced to the crow by a goth couple on YouTube(it was either before or after I heard about the remake.)It wasn’t until I heard about the remake that I finally stopped procrastinating and watched it. And I loved it. It was rlly good. As for the more recent one. I don’t necessarily hate it tho there are some things I wish they had done differently.

But maybe it’s cuz I like the 1994 one a bit better. I still enjoyed the crow 2024 tho. And I also understand the whole loyalty and respect to Brandon Lee cuz he died durimg the making of the crow.

But I don’t think Brandon Lee would appreciate you guys using him to put down another actor’s hard work if he were still alive today. He wasn’t even the only person to play Eric either. Someone else who wasn’t Bill Skarsgard played Eric in one of the other films.(I think. Feel free to correct me)Not to mention I think we’re all forgetting that the og source material isn’t the 1994 movie. The Crow was originally a comic book series.

I’m not here to tell you what you should or shouldn’t like. But I am here to tell you to maybe calm down a bit. It’s fine if the crow 2024 isn’t your cup of tea or if you like the 1994 movie better.

What isn’t ok is shitting on/slandering Bill Skarsgard and everyone else involved with the 2024 movie, getting genuinely angry that others enjoyed the 2024 movie, saying that newer fans who got into the crow franchise because of the remake aren’t allowed to like the crow franchise and accusing them of being posers(even tho goth is a music based subculture and there are loads of different types of goth styles but ok. Plus you don’t necessarily need to be goth to enjoy the crow.), and getting genuinely angry at ppl writing fanfics for 2024 Eric Draven.

Both versions of Eric are unique in their own ways and I wish people would stop being so mean about this.

What your thought and HC on Sakumei?

SakuMei my beloveds!!

I need to see these two interact in the main manga so badly. They were shown together during Nene’s dream in ASHK, where they appeared as friends. AidaIro love to pull those “what if?” scenarios to show us that two characters would have great chemistry. Their personalities are very similar, they’re both more reserved and act annoyed with others (particularly the Yugi twins). They met off screen when Tsukasa introduced Mei to the Broadcasting Crew + Mitsuba, but we never got to see them interact. It’s super fun as a rarepair tho bcuz there’s so much to imagine with their dynamic. They compliment each other well and there’s lots of room to explore what a relationship between them would be like

As a toxic yuri enjoyer I like to hc them as exes, though I often see them depicted as girlfriends who take care of each other. I like that version of SakuMei as well, unlike some other ships I’m not too picky on how they’re written. Speaking of which, SakuMei fanfics are amazing. With every TBHK ship except Aoi//Nene the fic options are very limited so I’m always pleasantly surprised to see ones that surpass my expectations (no slander to fics for other wlw ships tho I eat up every sapphic TBHK fic I can find). Beecalm has written some SakuMei so I would 100% recommend any of their fics. Their SakuMei fan arts are also super cute

Back to my own interpretation of the ship, I like to think of them as toxic exes who stayed friends. Neither of them had much emotional intelligence when they dated so they both carry a lot of baggage from it (mainly Mei). It took awhile for them to forgive each other but now they’re best friends and they’ve grown a lot and hey, who knows?? Maybe some feelings still remain and they can get back together once they’ve matured and grown as people

For the toxic element I think of it as v much Casual by Chappell Roan vibes. I like to hc that they met prior to the start of the series, before Sakura met Natsuhiko (ik that stretches canon a tiny bit but shhhhh let me have my headcanons). With Mei as a recent supernatural having no sense of identity and Sakura as an older supernatural with no goal to cling to, they were both a bit lost. They both initially agreed that they weren’t ready for a serious relationship so they agreed to keep things casual. Only it wasn’t long before they were hanging out every single day, almost 24/7. Mei especially wanted to be loved so it wasn’t long before their casual dating became unfulfilling for her. She didn’t want to be Sakura’s friend, she wanted someone who would love her and look after her. Someone she could devote all her love to instead of repressing it. Emotions have never been Sakura’s strong suit, so they ignored Mei’s obvious unhappiness. When Mei could no longer hold it in and told them she wanted more, Sakura broke things off. This led to a lot of resentment between the two of them because they both felt like the other ruined things. Over time tho, they learned to stop blaming each other and instead focus on bettering themselves. Slowly, they began to rekindle their friendship, and now they’re back on good terms

I wanna bring up sexuality headcanons here, I love the hc of Sakura being a nonbinary lesbian. I could also see pan Sakura since in ASHK they said they don’t care abt gender but lesbian Sakura is my Sakura. I wrote a mini essay on lesbian Mei awhile back and I stand by that. I actually slightly prefer No.4 Mei to OG Mei at times but shhhhh I love them both dearly

Their dates are very lowkey, it’s enough for them just to enjoy each other’s company. Usually they’ll hang out in the art room or have a mini book club in Sakura’s boundary (with tea ofc, it’s not a Sakura ship without tea). Mei doesn’t like fiction so she reads a lot of biography and nature fact books. Sakura likes gothic horror and occasionally a good ol’ mystery book. I also have this crack hc that since Sakura has been around for so long + they blend in with humans, they’ve gone to college several time like the Cullen’s from Twilight. They probably have multiple PhDs. Mei is p much the only person who will let them infodump so she gets crash courses in every major Sakura has taken

Nowadays, if you saw them together you’d have no idea about their complicated history. I just know Nene was flabbergasted when Mei filled her in on the lore. I also like to think Mei and Natsuhiko have some lighthearted beef over Sakura…but Natsuhiko lowkey wants Mei too so it’s a whole mess (just to be clear I hc Natsuhiko as genderfluid and bi so she fits into this equation just fine dw). Their lives could be a soap opera. When Mei is feeling like turning her life around and being social she spends time with the Broadcasting Crew, so her and Sakura still see each other on a regular basis. If Mei goes too long without visiting, Sakura will go to check on her. They look out for each other in subtle ways like that, even when things were rough between them they kept finding small ways to show that they cared. Some feelings still linger so it never really stopped being complicated but they have more of a handle on things now

Anyways I love these partners who are both super bitter towards the world yet filled with love for it. Let them kiss and get back together

It’s surprising to see how many readers don’t like or flat out hate Victoria in some post comments and submission. Personally I love how you’ve written Victoria as a character with a unique personality with challenges, successes, a whole family, and a backstory that could be an independent standalone character from the main male characters and she doesn’t get overshadowed. I enjoy that she could be paired with Al Pacino’s different characters in prompts and still works cause it’s fun a dynamic non-canon scenario. It’s so refreshing to see fanfics that’s not just “Y/n” over and over again cause I don’t like to self-insert “your name” into fanfics but we could still read from your OCs pov

I could understand how some may not like some of Victoria’s actions or decisions like any other character but I’m loving her spicy attitude and the interesting dynamic she adds to the GodFather story. I appreciate the effort of character development you put into OCs like Victoria and continuing with Celeste 🥰 🥰 Team Victoria forever!!! Gatekeep Gaslight and Girlboss 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼

To be honest, everyone has their own opinion about Victoria and that's fine. ❤️ The beauty of it is that everyone will experience her story, her actions, her lifestyle and her decisions differently and I completely respect that, but Victoria's character has also been rudely slandered in the past and called "annoying" or any other unhelpful criticisms which I absolutely don't accept. There's definitely a way to word how you feel about a character, their mannerisms and their role in the story you're reading without writing/sending literal anon hate which sadly I have seen in the recent past for Victoria.

I didn't create Victoria to be a likeable, relatable and quirky character. She fits in the world of Moth to Flame for The Godfather as one would expect a character in the canon world of The Godfather to. I love how you mentioned Victoria does have her own challenges, successes and a backstory without being overpowered by other main male characters. It's true! 🥰 She's a human being, she's not a stone cold monster who would let something like lies, betrayal and manipulation go past her. Victoria has emotions, her own values and morals too. There's things that get Victoria upset and there's things that don't even get under her skin.

I think somewhere along the way, some may have misunderstood this and expected Victoria to be cold, ruthless and a demon but we can't forget she's a mother, an aunt, a daughter, an academic, and a whole lawyer. Victoria had a life before she married Michael too, and she still does. She's not Michael 2.0 and she isn't designed to be. To be fair, it's not in my interest whatsoever to have Victoria be a likeable character or not just as I won't write out character personalities for the sake of being able to relate to them. I mean, Victoria's a corrupt lawyer and in the mafia... Should not be relatable. 😂

Of course Victoria isn't perfect. She's only human and she's not made to be a "perfect" character. She has her flaws and she has things she needs to work on; don't we all? At the very least they are mentioned and Victoria recognizes them too. You step into her perspective and see how Victoria reacts, speaks, and acts in Moth to Flame. Sometimes we may not agree with what she's said/done but it all adds to the story! That's what it is.

I also agree with what you said about the prompt shipping! 💞 It's for fun, it's unique and based on reader submission and I love interacting with you guys and playing around with suggestions/input!

Someone hug Inui from behind making him snap out of his daydream. He turn around from his chair to see a familiar face that create a tint of blush on his cheeks.

“Y/N why are you here this early?”

“Early? Look around you dumb ass.” KoKo said as he comes into the class.

Inui lazily look around him to see the class empty. He must had fallen asleep.

“Oh.”

“Wht do you mean “Oh”? Pack your stuff or we’re leaving you behind!”

“KoKo don’t be so harsh on Inui, he’s just tired from his part time job.”

KoKo got a frond on his face when you defend Inui. Inui on the other hand blushes while putting his things in his back.

“Oh yea? For a person who sleeps around in class of cause he’s going to work in that shabby motorcycle shop.”

“Hey.” You warn Koko. Both of you look each other and inspect Inui’s face.

Inui is used to the constant slanders and being beaten around by Koko, It’s not that he’s a bully, he’s just like that. He would apologies later about it but what he said is true. Koko is a smart kid who get all A’s in his class. He’s the brightest kid in their little friend group. So, the brightest flower catches the most beautiful butterflies, and that butterfly is you.

For the first time in his life, he craves for someone and that someone is you. He misses you 24/7. Always wanting to see your face, hear your voice and feel your touch. He even goes as far as going to your house one night after work to see you. But unfortunately, you were asleep. It doesn’t matter much when he climbs to your window to see you sleeping so soundly.

You can call him a psychopath but he’s just making sure your save by hacking into your phone and looking through all your social info and private messages.

You can call him a creep for following you around at night making sure no wolfs can catch a cute bunny like you.

You can call him a sociopath for lying to you as he only sees you as a friend when he craves to feel more of you then your hands.

He doesn’t care what you call him, he’s doing all this to keep you save form the dangerous people out there or to feed his desires.

Now you both are in a hotpot restaurant. Koko apologies to Inui by treating hotpot and BBK to both of you. All of you talk about school life, how hard to weekly test was or gossip about that one kid in class that reminds the teacher about the homework. Noting goes into Inui mind as he’s too focus on you and Koko interactions.

Koko is talking about these facts he knows of, and you listen to him with wide eyes. Then he whispers something in your ears making you blush. Inui clench his jaw seeing that. Koko looks proud that he’s getting all your attention to himself. On the other hand, Inui watch Koko and you with a sad look with a dash of jealousy.

“Oh, look who’s jealous.” All the spotlight is now on Inui making him slightly uncomfortable.

“Why are you all looking at me?”

“Oh, we all know you’re the jelly one here.” He teases as you switch your seat near him.

You close your space between you and Inui, your face so close to his, a slight movement from him can make him go for a kiss. Your eyes half lid and tease him as you trace his collar with your slender fingers. Not touching him but so close to. Inui’s breath become heavy, his head even feel cloudy to the situation, both of you look at each other’s eyes with lust.

“Tell me baby.”

He just wants to push his head forward and give a deep long kiss, but Koko’s clap snaps him out of hid fantasies. You giggle and hop off Inui’s lap and go sit beside Koko.

“Koko did you see that?”

“Yes, you did a great job.” He said as he places his arms around your shoulder.

“What’s going on?” Inui looks confused.

“It’s a prank! Got you!” You shout and laugh with Koko. In that moment Inui felt both embarrassed and mad. It’s definitely not your idea. Your inexperience ass would never. It gotta be Koko’s.

“You guys are dicks.” He said as he stood up a leave.

“Inui wait- “you were about to stop him when Koko pull you back in his arms.

“Leave it, he’s fine. He’s just a little embarrassed.”

That night Inui can’t get you out of his head. He can’t when you look so cute and sexy when you did that half lid move. The way you touch him felt so different from how you use to touch him. So soft and teasing. He tries to memorize it, but it slowly fades away. He can only remember how hot and lustful it felt. How he got hard just by your voice. He needs it again.

Koko told me to wait at the playground we use to play. Idk why but I feel like something serious is going to happen.

He stands in front of you, his eyes fill with desires. He feels like burning. The only thing that’s keeping him cool is the rain. He felt happy when he realizes Koko is nowhere to be found.

“Inui?” You look up to him with wide eyes.

He pulls you in his arm and kiss you. It feels so longing. You yelp in shock giving him a chance to enter his tongue in your mouth. You panic causing your umbrella to drop. He let out all his needs, his urges with action. His fantasies are becoming a reality. Your taste, your touch, the way you whimper in his hold. It all feels so good, he’s starting to feel feverish.

The rain pours all over both of you. It feels like you’re in a movie. Actually, you’re not sure if you like Koko or Inui. You’ve spent so much time with them yet, you still don’t have a sure answer when it comes to both of them but now. You’re sure now.

Okay so you two met when you were younger and you like sorta grew up with him.

(That's like the only way I can imagine someone actually having a lot of significance in Kyotani’s heart.)

But anyways ever since you guys were little you were inseparable. 

You would follow Kyotani around a lot and he would do the same cause you two were loners.

(just like Oikawa… I'm sorry for the unexpected Oikawa slander)

Kyotani is also the reason that you got introduced to volleyball. 

The day he saw his first volleyball match you were ill and couldn't come with him to attend.

But after he came back from that game all he talked about was volleyball because who tf decided to take your best friend away from you. 

But then when he took you to another volleyball game later on and you fell in love as well :D

Okay so after living with Kyotani all of these years you finally confessed to him because he wasn't gonna confess by the looks of him.

But anyways y’all started dating 

Now he may not seem like it but this boy is very soft especially if he's known you for a long time. 

He would definitely like to go to different ice cream parlors or different food stalls with you. 

Like you guys are just taking a walk and suddenly you guys come across this new ramen place and you guys just have to go and get a taste.

Other than this, I feel like he would be into taking walks with you or stargazing!

Like you two would have a spot on a hill or sum.

Hinata would accidentally find you two over there one day but would sneak away

Now as I stated before Kyotani’s totally in love with you and even if he may not say it, everyone can literally see him having heart eyes for you.

The team after finding out that you two were dating always invites you to their practices.

It's not like you wouldn't go if they didn't invite you but it's a nice gesture.

When you're there, if Kyotani gets angry or annoyed at someone they just come hide behind you or use you as a distraction so they can get away from gremlin Kyotani. 

But nonetheless they really respect you, especially the first years. 

Oikawa also lowkey respects you but is annoyed by you simultaneously because wHy dOEsn’T kYoTAni lisTEn tO hiM 

But anyways, I headcanon that Kyotani’s actually a very good cook and so he cooks lunch for you.

But after you noticed that Kunimi didn't really eat lunch, you might have bugged Kyotani to make a lil sum for him too. 

And now Kyotani makes little potato parathas for the team.

(I said potato parathas cause a friend introduced them to me recently and I'm obsessed) (Also idk how long they take to make so idk if it's possible to have enough time to make them before school)

But anyways other than his s/o pestering him to make lunch for the team he adores you.

Hes especially fond of you hair (since he has none, oops-)

He doesn't care if your hair is rough, short, long. 

He just loves running his fingers through them and if your hair is short and fuzzy like his he loves to give you little headpats. 

He also loves when you bite your nails unconsciously and then he gives you a light smack on the back of your head because you two were working to fix your nail biting problem and then you look up at him with your apologetic eyes while you give him a peck on the cheek as a sorry. He falls in love all over again.

Like Oikawa he gets jealous very easily.

He literally growled at Yahaba once when he tried flirting with you jokingly.

After that Yahaba was too afraid to talk to you.

But he's quite cute when he's jealous.

Tbh personally I find it really annoying sometimes in fanfics where the whole plot is based around the s/o being jealous and when they call being jealous ‘cute’ but I feel like in Kyotani’s case he would really be cute.

(Sorry for going on a minor rant there)

If he was jealous he would just stand at the side by you holding your hand and just having this very cute grumpy look and just having a light blush on his cheeks from puffing out his cheeks.

And then after that person would leave he would give you a light kiss on the cheek and grumpily mumble out a little, ‘mine’ and grab your hand and pull you towards an ice cream stall. 

Cause what's a better way to cool off than eating ice cream.

Talking about ice cream, Kyotani once took you out for an unlimited ice cream run for your anniversary once.

And you were not disappointed… but your mother sure was.

Both of you came back home hyper from all the sugar and destroyed the backyard playing volleyball so you mom had to kick you guys out. 

(don't ask me how much money a highschooler has okay)

Also one time you gifted Kyotani an eyeliner and showed him how to apply it and he's been using it ever since.

Once he tried to draw a pattern on his cat once with it and you had to rescue the poor cat. 

The cat was scarred.

So, obviously, I’m definitely not the only lesbian out there who writes m/f smut or straight romance or anything, and I can’t speak for everyone in answering this question. These are my personal reasons brought on by my personal life experiences, and they’re not going to match up with other people’s. And that’s okay!

So, the main reasons are 1) I’m hyperfixated on The Mandalorian/Pedro Pascal and 2) I just really enjoy writing smut ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Before I came out as a lesbian (which was when I was 20) I thought I was bi/pan, and genuinely thought I was attracted to men. In that time, I wrote plenty of smut myself, and did like… a lot of sexting/roleplaying with my partners. That’s mainly where I realized I enjoyed writing smut, and I just… didn’t really want to stop (both outside of w/ partners & after a relationship ended Extremely Badly). So I didn’t! Kinda. I didn’t venture much into original works, but I wrote my fair share of fanfic (don’t ask abt it 99.9% of it does not exist on the internet thankfully, I do have one that’s old as dirt on my ao3 though) and then sorta ended up here.

My current hyperfixation definitely plays into it too, though. Like, I started writing AMWIAI before I gave a shit about Pedro, and it just sorta evolved from there. Now, to be entirely fair, I do have a lot of gender envy for our boy, and I personally have realized that I’m aspec recently and I tend to like… even if it is a reader insert. I pretty much never read it as one. Idk who “y/n” or “you” is but it ain’t me gjfbgjfbfjdbs like yes I find the scenarios hot and yes clearly I have ideas myself but I’m detached from it in a way that’s probably kinda odd to anyone else. That also influences what I write and why I write it.

Also, like. Sex is fun? Idk how else to put it. All sex is fun. And hot. And I like all of it. Do I personally want to be in a relationship with a man? No. Do I find real life men attractive? No. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t something I want to explore at all, and the safest way for me to do that is writing smut.

- there are two sides, bottom harry, bottom draco. the bottom harry has been getting hate these few months. death threats, being called slurs so i hate to say this but you have to pick a side. i am only bottom harry so i’m sorry but if you prefer bottom draco you will get slandered here.

I’m going to get to all the rest of the stars in my inbox ( & anymore people feel like sending ), but before I do that, I just wanted to say a few things.

First, um? Wow, I was completely floored by the amount [ of stars / positive messages ] I received. I know when I made that emo post last week some of y’all reached out to me, through messages & through replies. Some people decided to jump ship & unfollow me. I got a few blocks too & that’s okay. I don’t expect everyone to like me or want to be around me at this time, so no ill will or feelings toward those who did. Some people don’t like out of character stuff, or drama, or only come for writing. I understood that when I first started on this platform in 2016, and I refrained from making OOC posts  as a result of it. But for those who are still here, or have recently followed even though I haven’t posted a lot lately-- thank you. I really respect & appreciate you all, and I’m completely grateful for your support.

Second-- if you’ve posted the same meme, or any other “ how am I doing? ” kind of meme, know that I follow you because I enjoy you in some vicinity, whether it’s you as a person, your character, your content, and / or all of the above. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t follow. A lot of you have posted something in the last week or so & I just haven’t had the energy to hit up everyone’s inboxes.... so there’s my positive / love tidbit there. I also typically react with something positive to any message in my inbox, so I hope that’s an okay response too! 

And finally... I don’t really know how to address this, but the only people who were silencing me have blocked or unfollowed me or both, so I think it’s my time to say something now. If I’m not posting enough for you & you want to write with another Yuffie, that’s fine. Know that I don’t inherently have anything against duplicates; and as I don’t own the character, anyone has the right to write her. But I have slight duplicate anxiety after an incident which occurred last year, so I ask that you please do not compare me to any duplicates. In addition, if you hear any slanderous information about me, please let me know so I can address it immediately. I’m not a bully, I don’t go around spouting negativity, and I’m not aggressive. I’m rather calm, peaceful, introverted, and mainly busy tbh. Also, my body literally cannot handle stress... “ invisible ” autoimmune diseases / illnesses, y’all. I have them.

So for those of you who don’t know...

Last year I had a duplicate who wanted to write with my mutuals so they spread lies saying I stole their content & then when that was disproven, felt the need to tell people I was harassing, verbally abusing, even stalking them & sent people to bully me about it & essentially tried to bully me off the platform. 

No one will be named, I kind of don’t want to discuss it anymore, just know that I’ll be taking steps that are me-first & make me feel comfortable on this platform, especially when I’m not doing anything malicious to anyone. 

I also just have a big issue here with people not respecting my boundaries / consent in general? 2016 and 2017 was just filled with a lot of people who would just constantly ask me for smut or lewds, sent me a lot of unwarranted nude photography & even offered to buy me toys / outfits they wanted to me to dress in? I know Yuffie’s an oversexualized character who is often like... fantasized in kinks or whatever, but... this is a strong example of muse = / = [ does not equal ] mun. Whatever... interests y’all have with the character I portray just... should probably be kept to yourselves. I don’t want any nudes, I don’t want any kinky outfits or props or accessories sent to me, I don’t want to see your self-insert fanfic of me or my muse. It’s so weird I have to say any of this, but I do. Folks on this site are wild. As a reminder... no means no. And if I’m not giving a resounding yes, I’m probably uncertain or nervous... so just err on the side of caution as if it were a no. I try to be very polite but sometimes... I’m asked for a little bit too much.

I do use Tumblr Savior & Tumblr’s filtering system already, and I generally stay out of fandom discourse as to not see arguments & other conflicts. This includes being out of the tags & not active in servers. So it’s not just me being exclusive / avoidant, but I’m really big on making a safe online experience for yourself & so I’m doing the best I can to do so. And if there’s anything else y’all recommend, I’d love to hear it.

CHAPTER EIGHT

"Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?" the wrinkled old man read aloud from his heavily-highlighted old Bible, speaking from one corner of the tent. A few dozen campers were arranged in folding chairs to face him, and the counselors were lined up along the sides, to keep watch that none of them tried to sneak off and get into mischief. Elsa and Anna were standing beside each other on one wall with Rapunzel and Snow on another and Aurora and Belle along a third. Though Elsa did guiltily feel as if they were holding the children hostage, it wasn't as if they were being subjected to anything worse than a dreary lecture from a dreary man.

And on he droned: "Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who lay with men, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

Anna was fidgeting next to her sister, her lower lip becoming swollen due to constantly catching it between her teeth to nibble at it. Her eyes were downcast to the ground. While she seemed to be paying attention, there was a nervous energy to her that Elsa couldn't help but notice and she felt confused by it. Her sister looked like she was awaiting a scolding.

"Now then," he said in his rich baritone as he looked up from the text. "I know these words are fairly self-evident, but if there are any questions…?" He saw a hand go up from one of the campers. "Yes?"

"Why aren't gay people allowed into Heaven?" Olaf questioned the old man. His head was tilted slightly and he looked confused. "I understand that bad people can't always get in because they did bad things… but what does lying with a man have to do with that? Especially if they love each other."

"That isn't true love," the man said evenly, though there was a deeper crease in his brow now. Elsa had to suppress a snort of bemusement; he really didn't need any more wrinkles. "It is an abomination of love; a false love. Men who lie with other men only do so for sinful desires."

"My papa says that sometimes the purest love comes from those who are gay," Olaf protested, "because they have to go through so much struggle to be together so that when they do finally get married, they don't take it for granted and their love is made that much stronger."

Anna lifted her eyes from the floor to gaze fondly at the boy, a small smile on her face. Elsa noticed, but she made no comment; she presumed it was because she had expected it, due to how Olaf kept talking about the two of them. Of course, she couldn't be sure, but that seemed most likely.

"That is a lie of the secular world," the pastor told Olaf patiently. "Of course they want to justify their sin; that is what sin does. But the Word clearly tells us that He does not wish us to pursue deviant relationships like those. That he wishes man and woman to marry, to be fruitful and multiply."

He was already turning back to look at his Bible again when he noticed another hand up. When he nodded at her, Rapunzel cleared her throat. "Actually… I read an interesting article about that online. Pretty much, tee-el-dee-arr, the words that are translated into 'gay' probably didn't mean that." Everyone was staring at her, and she shrank back slightly. "W-well, um, just um…"

"Go on," Elsa prompted. She was completely indifferent to the topic, even though she thought Pastor Frollo was correct. Still, she was curious what Rapunzel had to say and didn't want her to feel completely without support.

"A-anyway, the point is that the original Greek words in Corinthians that we translate as 'men who lay with men' or 'homosexual', actually probably mean either morally weak men, or men who use sex to obtain power. Depending on the word in the verse, that is." More sillence. Clearing her throat, she said, "Like, most people who were 'gay' in those days were temple priests for pagan religions, or taking place in crazy rituals that, um, I'd rather not describe because they're too sinful. So obviously what they were doing was wrong, because they were idolaters. And they were being promiscuous. But, um… but that doesn't really have much to do with a modern homsexual couple."

"And you believe this?" Frollo asked.

"Well, not necessarily," she backpedaled, feeling the heat of a roomful of gazes. "Just… th-thought it was interesting. And we sh-should maybe consider-"

"Rapunzel!" Aurora snapped, casting a scolding look towards the younger woman. "That's enough! There are young ears present who don't need to hear you slander the good Pastor's words!" Then to Frollo, "I'm sorry about her, Father, she's new to God's flock and still strays at times. It won't happen again."

That had been hard to watch. Anna looked like she wanted to speak up but she kept her mouth closed and lowered her eyes again. The look on her face suggested that it was much more out of thoughtfulness than nerves this time around. Every so often, she would glance over at her brunette friend and smile softly.

And it was a smile that Elsa caught sight of. Rapunzel's points seemed valid enough, even if she didn't see why it should change her own mind. But Anna looked… grateful. That was certainly interesting.

"Pay it no mind, my child," the pastor bade Aurora with a wave of his hand. "All of you are young, and youth is a time when there are many questions. That is why I am here; to foster you all to the truth, so that you do not burn in the fires of Hell."

He turned back to the text, and there were no more interruptions. Elsa no longer paid any attention. Now, she was too busy looking between poor, chagrined Rapunzel, and Anna, who seemed to have found some kind of comfort in her arguing against the verses. Combined with some of the other things Anna had done recently, that brought up a lot more questions in her mind… ones that she didn't want to ask Pastor Frollo.

"You've been pretty quiet tonight, Elsa. Is something on your mind?" Anna gave her sister a look of concern. They were both lying outside their cabin, bundled up in their pajamas and blankets and staring up at the star filled sky, simply enjoying the peace the night brought together.

However, Anna seemed to realize something was amiss with the winter blonde. Elsa was trying her best to hide her uncertainty, but apparently, it still bled through. She wanted her questions to be purely hypothetical, philosophical… but she worried that it wouldn't be that way for Anna.

"Just thinking about devotionals today," she began cautiously, trying to sound unconcerned. She knew she wasn't succeeding, but she tried.

"It certainly was different today, wasn't it?" Anna nodded in understanding. She had stiffened slightly, though her voice was as light and unassuming as Elsa's. "Olaf and Rapunzel are sweet for giving people like that the benefit of the doubt."

With a small smile, Elsa responded, "Well, I don't know if 'sweet' is the word I would use. Misguided, maybe? But I have to admit, Rapunzel raised some points that make me want to look into the translations a little closer."

"Oh?" Anna rolled over onto her stomach so she could face Elsa. There was a slight hesitance, a brief look of sadness, when she said, "So you agree with Frollo and the others, then? That gays are bad?"

"Not 'bad'." Wary because of Anna's expression, she tried to choose her words carefully. "No human is truly evil, other than maybe a rapist or a murderer. But yeah, there's more than one Bible verse that says homosexuality is a sin. But I mean, someone who chooses to be gay is no worse than someone who cheats on a math test. It doesn't mean they're beyond forgiveness."

Anna was silent for a moment before speaking up, "And what do they have to do to earn that forgiveness? Stop?" She couldn't keep the slight bitterness out of her voice. "It's not that easy. It's not a choice for them to be that way. It's a birth thing. You're either born attracted to the same gender or you aren't. Surely God wouldn't have made people like that if it was sinful."

"That's not really how it works, is it? I mean, some people are born with a brain wired to like drinking, or stealing. Are we just supposed to let them do it, because it's easier than telling them to stop?"

Her knuckles turned white as she gripped the blanket beneath her. However, she took several hard breaths to calm herself. "I just don't see what the problem is. It doesn't hurt people like stealing or murder, and it doesn't negatively affect anyone's lives like drinking does. They are simply people looking for love and finding it in someone with a similar body type to them. Why is that wrong? I-it's stupid that it is considered wrong!"

Now, Elsa was frowning, and she rolled over to lean up on one elbow to look at her sister. This was clearly something she felt very strongly about; she already knew that. But the reason behind it was what worried her. Still, she didn't want to make a big deal out of that before she had more information.

"Well… I'll admit, when you put it that way, my argument sounds pretty stupid. But it doesn't mean homosexuality is okay; just that I didn't make a very good point." Clearing her throat, she asked, "Why were we designed with two different sets of organs if we weren't supposed to put them together? Why can't two men make a baby, why can't two women? It's just… unnatural."

"If it's so unnatural, then why aren't humans the only creatures who can be gay?" Anna asked stiffly. "Swans and penguins form homosexual bonds all the time. So do some species of dogs." She shook her head. "Elsa, think about this carefully. There are unmarried people with two different organs who get together all the time. And sometimes the inevitable happens and they make a baby. Most people keep and raise that baby but then there are the couples that give that baby away, o-or just abandon it in the street. Is that natural? No. And yet there are gay people who want nothing more to be parents who have to fight just as hard to adopt a baby as they do to get married, even though the chances are high that they would love and cherish that little baby just as much as any heterosexual couple could."

Elsa shivered, pulling her sleeping bag more tightly around herself. "A gay couple raising a baby… there's a frightening thought. They'll grow up to think that's normal, turn out to be gay themselves instead of knowing they shouldn't be."

And just like that, Anna's eyes filled with tears. "Is it so bad that they will grow up tolerant? Compassionate?!" Her voice was just below a shout. "Are you even listening to yourself!? You- you sound just like… Mom…" A look of horror suddenly graced Anna's face, as though she realized something terrible,

"Why shouldn't I sound like her? She's our mom, Anna! She believes in the Bible and she believes in God, just like we do! Or like I do, anyway," she added pointedly. She didn't want to state it openly, but their argument was definitely making her question whether or not her sister really believed.

"I- I-" Anna stared at Elsa as though she was a stranger. "I believe in the God that encourages love and respect. Not the one that spreads intolerance and hatred for those who are considered different." She hugged herself tightly. "But I understand who your God is now… are you going to disown me, too, then, Sis?"

"Why would I?" Elsa said, still unsure what Anna was getting at. "Because you support homosexuality? I mean, I disagree with you, but… I'm not one of those people that thinks 'the big, bad gays' are going to take over the world or steal my children, or anything insane like that. They're just sinners according to the Bible. Your being supportive of them isn't an issue between us."

"What about actually being one of them?" Anna's admittance was soft. "How does that affect us?"

Finally, Elsa could not ignore the implications. The worries in her mind; ones that had been quietly building in the corner. She would maintain the pretense for a minute longer, just to make sure she did not jump to any conclusions… but she knew it was pretty futile.

"Do you mean… hypothetically?" she asked, voice as cautious as she could keep it. "Or do you have something you want to tell me?"

Moment of truth. Anna let out a deep sigh.

"My first kiss was behind the school when I was thirteen. The girl's name was Mulan. I started dating my high school girlfriend, Esmeralda when I was sixteen and it lasted until about six months ago. I'm bisexual, Elsa. I do date boys, but I like, and prefer, girls." She looked like she was bracing herself for a storm when she looked Elsa dead in the eyes. "I didn't tell you because I was terrified that you would be mad at me about it like I think Mama is."

But there was no storm. No strong reaction, no snapping, no shouting. Elsa just sat there, staring at Anna in complete and utter disbelief. How was she supposed to process something like that? Especially within a few short seconds of being blindsided by such a revelation.

"I see," she finally breathed, when she could find nothing else to say.

Anna flinched at the simple words and she looked so small as she peered at Elsa, obviously waiting for more. However, nothing came and gradually Anna became visibly more nervous. "S-Say something else, please?" she begged, clearly unable to deal with the blank look Elsa had on her face.

"Wh-what should I say?" Elsa tried with a laugh of pure anxiety. "That… that I'm fine with it? That Mama- that our Mother shouldn't hate you for it?" After saying that, she pursed her lips for a moment. "Alright, that one I will say. We both know that… that no matter what you believe about homosexuality, it's still not supposed to mean you hate that person. So that, I… yeah, if she really hates you… I don't… agree with doing that."

The words were difficult to squeeze out of her throat, because as much as she knew they were true, as much as she believed them, they might mean she was speaking out against her mother. The one person who had always stood by her side, no matter what. That Anna and her father had been forced away was a possibility, yes, but she couldn't say that for certain yet. How was she supposed to betray the only family who had been there for her for the past five years?

"But… I don't know what else you want me to say," she finally finished quietly. "How could you keep this from me?"

Anna seemed to take a small amount of comfort from Elsa's words — that at least she didn't agree with their mother — but still she stood up. The conflict was clear on her face from the way her eyes darted between her sister and the path leading to the other cabins that she was struggling between staying and leaving.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, but she didn't elaborate what she was apologising for before she took off down the road and out of sight. Elsa barely had time to raise one hand before she was gone.

And then she was alone, out in the chill night air with her thoughts. Ones that she couldn't quite begin to untangle her way through; she had no frame of reference. This had never been anything other than an academic footnote, for the purposes of debating and dismissing afterward. Another way for her to reach a different kind of sinner, should she ever meet one. For all intents and purposes, gay people were fictional to her.

Until now. When one of them was the sister she had spent years missing so desperately that she cried, a lot more often than she cared to admit.

How was she supposed to even begin to approach a problem such as this?

Ideas and Plans (for myself)

A rant to myself

I wanna throw my mug of coffee at the wall. Because I’ve been trying to read the books I’ve recently bought but, while amazing in terms of concept, I sometimes feel it lacking or I’m not a fan of the writing style. I’m so frustrated because I love fanfic writing style. And right now, the type of fics I want to read either doesn’t exist or I can’t find. You have no idea how much I want to write fanfiction right now, especially on the topic of the struggle of cultural identity (especially coming from a country who was colonized for hundreds of years, and thus, something I experience quite frequently) and it frustrates me because I have trouble finishing any of my fics. I want to read something right now that marries my book with fanfic. Like, I enjoyed “My Cat Yugoslavia”, its magical realism and all its metaphors. But I’m not such a big fan of the writing style. It had a lot more potential, especially with its two storylines. If it found a way to have the two storylines emphasize one another, it would’ve been great.

Can I have a fanfic where we discuss the rationalization of a villain? Where we do not turn them into just a monster but rather a level-headed human being who rationalized their actions so well that they create the biggest mistakes in history? Something that help us remember that the monsters in our history were humans too? It doesn’t excuse their actions but depicting them as only monsters make us forget they had their reasonings and beliefs. And if we forget that, history will repeat itself, no matter how we argue otherwise or convince ourselves that we know better now. Don’t make their rationalizations as excuses. But help us realize that humans are capable of both great and terrible actions.

I’m sorry. I just recently visited Germany and had gone to some of the museums. I can’t understand the rationalization or their reasonings for what the Nazis did. How they justified their actions and slept at night.

I love fanfiction. Don’t get me wrong. It’s the one that made me realize on the potential of the characters I love that weren’t utilized by the original authors. I just realized that I haven’t been able to find, personally, fics that rationalized the villain’s actions without making it excuses. Like imagine Voldemort’s reasoning in the first war? Would it be a lot like Hitler’s? How would the wizarding world be like if Voldemort used similar propaganda? Would’ve there been more followers? How would the Order of the Phoenix counteract it? In the second wizarding war during the 5th book, would the Quibbler be used as an anti-government propaganda? Would there be a battle of propaganda and writing? The political tension? (Because tbh, I’m so frustrated with Dumbledore and the Order for allowing themselves to be slandered the way the Prophet did. They did absolutely nothing to battle the claims. Only Harry did, and he did it in the most unpolitical manner as possible, which helped further the claims of him being attention-seeking. That’s why I don’t blame Seamus for not believing Harry. For believing the Prophet.)

Books and stories are so important. So when people argue that you shouldn’t work yourselves up over fiction, let me tell you that myths can be considered fiction. That technically some books in the Bible will be considered myths and its only the core values you have to take into consideration. That it was through writing fiction that started the rebellion with our colonizers. It helped my ancestors realize what was being down to them was unfair. Was cruel. If we shouldn’t be worked up over fiction, what’s the point then having Literature classes? To discuss the different ways an author can describe being sad?

Opinion of RPF

howdy doo everyone~

I’ve been writing and rewriting this letter for the past few days. There are many thoughts that I wanted to include, but I’m constantly worried about the longevity and potential curtness of some topics. I’m also worried that my opinions are going to backlash on me, but I came to the conclusion that in order for me to be a better person and a better writer, I need to accept criticism. I just ask that if you do send me criticism or questions, please be patient and understanding with the response time. I try to handle things sensitively which means I put a lot of thought into my answer and writing. I also admit that I get rattled easily and I want to give you answers when my head is clearer. 

This has been something that’s been on my mind for many years actually. It’s caused me to stop reading and writing many times. At this point, it’s becoming a vicious cycle and I don’t know whether I want to continue it anymore or just give it up and find something else to do. If you’re reading this, I hope you can at least gain insight and understanding because some other authors may have felt this way and if you have the time, I’d appreciate some feedback. I know this document is long, so I’m really thankful if you can bear through it. 

I have been reading and writing fanfiction for about 11 years. I have been writing for k-pop on and off for 7 years now. Although writing has been a great hobby and outlet and the k-pop writing community has proven to be a safe space for me, I still tend to have internal conflicts about the ethics of Real Person Fanfiction (RPF). I have a very long explanation of my philosophy of writing, which I encourage you to read if you read many of my fics, but to break it down, I acknowledge that there’s a lot of responsibility when writing for the k-pop fandom. 

I know these are real-life people and it’s possible that readers might get the wrong idea when reading my fics. I want you to know that when I write my fics, I’m not exactly thinking of that specific person. This sounds kinda horrible because it’s blunt, but when it all boils down, I’m basically just using them as a face claim. It’s easier for me, especially since I write a lot of shorter fics and drabbles, because I don’t have to spend a whole page describing a character, like how authors of books normally do. A lot of what I write comes from personal experiences so I usually think of a plot and then decide which person fits my character. I admit that I do choose characters based off of the idols’ personalities/personas, but I’m not going to hold it against them in real life. I sometimes adjust my character to the “real” personality of the idol, but not so much. I’m pretty sure a lot of k-pop fanfic writers feel this way (and I can imagine readers feel that way too), which is why I encourage you to read the extension of this memo which digs into specific topics, like writing idolverse/”canon” and smut. 

If you are a writer, I hope you have a similar philosophy that respects the people we write about and also reflects on a potential cultural impact you can make. If you are a reader, I hope you take an author’s intentions into account when you are reading. It’s not just writing out a fantasy, but there are thoughts and emotions writers want to express or a lesson to teach. Sometimes people do write just for fun and it’s normally okay, but it varies case by case on whether the intention is appropriate.

Sometimes it is hard to see those intentions, especially when it’s not explicitly written out like this or authors chose to be vague about endings or “what happened last summer” or something like that. Depending on the situation, the uncertainty is a key factor in their style or storytelling, but if you’re uncomfortable about it, you have the right to voice it out. This is why it’s so important to communicate with authors by the means of commenting. Jumping to conclusions is very disrespectful to a writer and that’s not fair for fanfic writers who are doing this for free. Conversations like, “where do you get this idea from?” or “did you mean this when you said that?” clarify the intentions of the author. (If you have a strong opinion or interpretation, you may want to preface in your comment that because you might just come off as rude and taking control over the story.) Many authors might say, “it’s up for any interpretation”, but will give their own insight. In my opinion, if authors don’t give you the time of day or completely shut down your opinions, I understand if you start forming your own opinions. (I don’t believe social media slander is the way to go but maybe appropriate if they ignore the problem.) Depending on the writer, they are busy, so please be considerate of their own personal schedules. Don’t demand a quick response time or a public apology. Reading and writing are supposed to be cathartic and empathy-inducing and distracting and fun. Your opinions are valid. (I have to add on that if you chose to ignore things like trigger warnings and tags, that is on you.)    

You may be wondering, why am I writing this letter? I seem to know my limits. I try not to be a problematic person. It doesn’t seem like my writing is problematic either. I’d like to believe these things, but I recognize that these are all subjective. I am not necessarily going to be completely transparent with you because that’s a whole lot of layers and I don’t want to just force all of that on you, but I will be open with you about things that I’ve already put out. 

I’m predicting that the people who are reading this memo have only been reading my recent works/works I’ve posted on AO3. If you don’t know this, I am also on AFF and tumblr. Although a lot of my stuff (especially the one-shots on tumblr) is pretty lighthearted and surficial, I have written about deeper and darker topics: character death and mourning, cheating, panic attacks, and a pole dancer. I have also included themes of drinking, swearing, and implied sex. These range from passive mentions to having the whole story revolve around that topic. I recognize that these can be uncomfortable themes, which is why I try to relay my intentions and sensitivity through Extended Author’s Notes, content warnings per chapter and tags, taking forever to edit, and writing long responses to comments. I choose to write about these topics because I personally get tired of seeing similar fics and, again, I just need an outlet.

Allow me to address a… hyena in the room (yeah, not an elephant). I don’t usually flash this card, nor do I feel 100% comfortable talking about this, but I’m just going to come clean and say that I suffer from depression and anxiety. No, you don’t need to feel sympathetic or look at my writing differently. Please don’t do that. That’s not why I’m telling you this. I mostly want to say that, yes, I have these mental illnesses, but I also acknowledge that it doesn’t excuse any toxic behavior. I have written when my anxiety-induced insomnia gets to me or when I’m having a particularly low week. I try to edit when I’m more stable, but again, that’s pretty subjective. I try so hard to cope properly and I do use other methods besides writing. I talk to my friends to make sure I don’t isolate too much. I’ve ventured into music and dance. Admittedly, things have been harder with this pandemic. I’m not a perfect person and I admit that I slip up every once in a while. You might see it in my writing. Sometimes, I’m rereading a paragraph for the 12th time and I’ll be completely jaded over the intensity of the emotions I wrote 3 months ago because it comes to the point that I’m just looking at words. The words that I wrote at 2AM after a self-loathing day seem completely different two weeks later after a deep talk with my best friend. One day, it’ll hurt me, and the next, it’ll mean nothing. I’m not sure how it’ll affect you. I acknowledge that my readers come from different walks of life and different experiences. I want to respect that. If something bothers you, please do not hesitate to communicate with me. 

I know I don’t act like it all the time, especially on Twitter, but I am an adult and I’m trying to handle at least my mental health like an adult. I write about mature topics and as a writer, I recognize that I need to handle the reception maturely as well.

The “best woman of this generation” once said this about her group. “Even if there are good times, there could also be times when you feel disappointed or feel regret or get angry or annoyed… Just do things that you like. Resolve your mood, then come back to Red Velvet… It’s not “always like Red Velvet”. I’d like for your guys to find many, many diverse things to enjoy… I do really want you all to be happy.” I am in no way in the same league as Red Velvet or Ms. Bae Joohyun, but I’d like to keep that humble mentality. You don’t have to support every fic I write. You don’t have to support my entire story. You don’t have to approve of every topic I write about or the messages I relay. (I would like to hear your thoughts, but you are not obligated to do so.) The beauty of these sites is that you can come and go whenever you would like. I get it. Life happens. Things change. Opinions change. You’re valid. If ever you want to come back to my story or maybe finish one that you never continued, you are always welcome to do so.   

I, myself, have stopped reading fics, even if they were good. I’m not just talking about ongoing fics that lost its flare. I’m also talking about completed fics or fics that have over 500 Kudos or were Featured on AFF. Sometimes the topics are too deep. Sometimes, I just need to emotionally prepare myself for an update. Sometimes I lose interest. I’m sure the author might feel a little hurt, but that’s just how life is. I don’t spend a lot of my time reading and writing fics. In the end, I’m going to finish the fics that kept me interested.

Alright, if you’ve made it this far, congratulations. Serious conversation is over (for now). Thank you for your tolerance, patience, and understanding. If you are someone that reads my stories, thank you for your support. If you are someone who enjoys my stories, thank you for your love. With the time that I have, I’m working hard to be a better writer, but most importantly, I’m working harder to be a better person. The k-pop community has been a safe place for me and I want to continue letting it be that way.

Platonic Rankings - Week 7

Dyl - We're about half way through, the league is actually in an interesting spot right now. 4 playoff spots seem pretty well established, barring injury, but the other two are completely up for grabs in the Slanderers and Content divisions. That Points For column is becoming increasingly important, especially in the Slanderers division. We'll need to keep an eye on that moving forward. 

Will - Hi everyone.  This week, we decided to really stoop down and acknowledge the dumbest content we’ve ever heard, and the rankings will be correlated with a platonic relationship.  In case you’ve been MIA from the chat, Phil has recently entered a fake relationship with a girl.  They can’t date because of work, but are telling people at work they are dating.  It’s actual lunacy at it’s finest, and typical Phil.  I felt great about this when we first started doing it, but now Phil thinks his situation is “content”, so I was hesitant to go through with it.  So before we get started I’d like to make one thing clear: stop intentionally doing stupid shit “for content”, the organic nature of it is enjoyable, but when you force the story it becomes painfully unfunny and a pathetic cry for attention.  With that being said, let’s hop in.

12. Team Calm Down Will (2-4, last week #11)

Arielle is shockingly up to #11 in the GM power rankings after yesterday, but her team falls- to #12. The injuries have just clearly been too much. This team has scored about 10 points fewer per week than any other team, and with Jameis banged up and Dion Lewis (heart eye emoji) taking carries from Gillislee. I hope Arielle is at least having a nice vacation, because she'll be coming back in a rough spot.

Harry and Hermione - Honestly, I’m not sure Arielle is even going to read this.  It’s a last minute switchup because I needed one more here, and I was a little mean to her earlier this weekend.  At the very least I figured I could give her the comparison of Harry and Hermione.  Hopefully you aren’t one of those Harry and Hermione shippers, because they shouldn’t be together.  They work best as friends, and I happen to like Ron and Hermione together.  Anywho, enjoy London, too bad you are a couple weeks late on Bortles being there, but I guess it’s better for Lewis that way. 

11. Caddyshack Name Incoming (1-5, last week #8)

Whatever playoff hopes remained for this team were shattered along with Aaron Rodgers clavicle.  They still have a shot at pulling things together if Zeke stays active, but at this point, who knows if that will happen. They need to find a way to pry Cam, Big Ben, Brees when Luck returns, or Rivers from somebody's bench. (UPDATE: This happened but I'm lazy)

Batman and Joker - The most romantic platonic relationship out there.  These two NEED each other, just like Bower’s team needs Ezekiel Elliott Aaron Rodgers Ezekiel Elliott Mike Evans.  The romantic tension between the two is palpable, but there actually might be too much sexual chemistry/tension for them to crack the top 10.  Don’t believe us? Just look up “joker and batman fanfic”, (or ask Dylan if you can read his fanfic) but before you do so make sure you turn the lights down low, light a couple candles, and wear your sexiest batnipple suit to really set the right mood. These two are destined to battle until the end of time, just like Ezekiel Elliott and the NFL.  My condolences Bowers. A note from Dylan - For all of you thinking that these two don’t belong here, we all know that most furries are gay, or trans, or whatever @Bryan. Batman dresses like a bat and always does bat thing, and Joker is always hanging out with a man dressed like a bat, a woman dressed like cat, and a bunch and other animal things. They're furries. And let's be real, clowns are probably all gay too. The point: they could have realistically been banging, and they weren't. Except in my fanfic. 

10. Chicken Winnigish (2-4, last week #9) 

The former Geoffreys continue free falling (RIP Chris Cornell) down the power rankings. They have gone back to their losing ways, and at thinking are the only team that we'd say truly has no chance of making the playoffs. But we do think they could play a spoiler or be a threat in the loser's bracket if they could figure our how to set a decent lineup. They have simply handed their opponents 2 or 3 games at this point. 

Eggsy and Roxy - DID WE JUST DROP A KINGSMEN REFERENCE IN THE POWER RANKINGS?! LET’S GOOOOOOOO BABY, KINGSMAN HYPE.  JUST KNOW RECEIVING THIS PAIR IS JUST ABOUT THE HIGHEST HONOR I COULD BESTOW UPON A TEAM. THESE TWO SHOULD BE AT #1, CAUSE KINGSMAN IS #1.  EGGSY AND ROXY DO BADASS THINGS AND YET THE BADDEST THING THEY DO IS KEEP IT PLATONIC.  THEY COULD EASILY GO ALL MR. AND MRS. SMITH ON US AND HAVE A COOL FIGHT/LOVEMAKING SCENE, BUT THEY DON’T NEED THAT.  THEY KINGSMAN, AND A KINGSMAN IS ALWAYS PLATONIC. OXFORDS NOT BROGUES. EVAN HASN’T SEEN KINGSMEN, BUT THAT’S FINE. THIS IS A DOPE RANKING EVAN.

9. The Memes of Production  (2-4, last week #12)

Thanks to a friendly division and conference, and a miraculous win this past week, this team is in shockingly good position to make the playoffs. We don't love the decision to trade Keenan Allen over TY, or two invest in a 3rd QB, but they at least upgraded their starting lineup and won't have as much strength wasting away on the bench. They could be a sleeper if their Colts obsession doesn't get in the way.

Mr. PeanutButter and Todd Chavez - On paper this platonic pair seems a little odd.  However, on paper Andy’s team also currently seems odd.  A anthropomorphic dog and an asexual don’t seem like a match made in heaven, but then a cargo ship filled with pasta wrecks off the coast of L.A., endangering the underwater Pacific Ocean City, and an anthropomorphic dog and an asexual save the day with their crates of spaghetti strainers. Just when you thought the spaghetti strainers were useless, they proved their worth, just like when Jack Doyle caught that final pass to give Andy his second win on the season.  Keep an eye on this homogender interspecies platonic pair, they’re bound to do big and bright things, like adopt a dog together.  Or maybe they’ll just go to Dave n Busters and win a Squirtle and pretend the stuffed animal is a dog. Close enough, right?  Hopefully the Keenan Allen for Jay Ajayi swap will be good enough for Andy’s team too.

8. Confused Pandas (2-4, last week #7)

This is just sad. I miss Odell Beckham. But he's gone. This team still has a decent shot st sneaking into the playoffs, but they need a healthy Derek Carr, and it's not clear how the Rodgers injury impacts Ty Montgomery.

Randall and Ms. Finster - If we’re making a list to mock Phil, you had to expect the Randall Weems reference. In case it’s been awhile let me remind you.  Ms. Finster is the authoritarian dictator of Third Street School, and Randall is her rat-faced snitch.  In the Recess Movie, Randall even goes to Ms. Finster’s house to deliver her a report .  If their relationship wasn’t so platonic there would be concerns regarding the predatory nature, but it’s pure business between the two. Ironically, the systemic abuse of power from Ms. Finster is reminiscent of Phil’s abuse of power in his platonic relationship with Katie.  I feel a lawsuit is looming, and when the investigators come, I will point them in the direction of this blog (just think about those increased pageviews, hell yeah!) I apologize to Samantha for mentioning Phil twice in your write up, but it was such low hanging fruit.  The apples were prime for the platonic picking.

7. Freaky Frogadier (2-4, last week #10) 

Arguably the best team of the 2-4 bunch, and even stronger after making their most recent trade. But because of their division, it doesn't really matter. They'll need Primo Content to drop a couple of games; otherwise, even Breesus can't keep them out of the losers bracket.

Mary and Bert - Hate to break it to ya kiddos, but Mary and Bert were as platonic as they come.  Despite the obvious sexual chemistry between Dick Van Dyke (lol he said dick) and Julie Andrews, there was nothing more here than two friends who like to dance with penguins and go on merry-go-rounds.  In case you don’t believe me, they explicitly discuss their platonic relationship while walking through the park.  Mary tells Bert he’s an 8/13 (the best possible ranking there is, higher than a 10/10) but also notes he’s never tried any funny business below the belt with her. Furthermore to support the claim of platonichood, there are numerous fan theories that speculate Mary is an ageless demigod who was once Bert’s nanny. Anywho, back to fantasy football.  Dylan’s team looked great this week, about as good as Dick looked in that striped suit (yowza) and that helps them step up in the rankings.

6. Phil Awoke My Sexuality 

Ever since this team's name changed, it's been all down hill. What once looked like a promising team is mired in a pit of mediocrity. They have more points than the other teams in their conference, so they still have a good shot at the playoffs. But, as we've been asking for weeks, why is Cam Newton being wasted on their bench?

Leslie and Ron - I know it feels low for them, but remember this pair had a three-year platonic feud that almost ruined their friendship. Even despite that, their bond is still strong enough to keep them high up in the Platonic Power Couple Rankings.  I mean look, Buzzfeed even did a stupid list about Ron and Leslie, so you know that’s some legit friendship.Michael Schur summed it up best (because everything Michael Schur does is the best) - “I know there are people who are Leslie and Ron ‘shippers, as they say, but their relationship is so great as platonic friends without any hint of any interest in each other. . .We will never do that.”  Harnsowl, heed the cautionary tale of Ron and Leslie’s feud.  Friendship is stronger than the hurricane of drama. Start Cam Newton with confidence, because next thing you know you’re looking at another Morning Star incident and you’ve lost the only other person who appreciates Lil Sebastian as much as you do.  I really hope you watch Parks and Rec, otherwise this was wasted and Dylan, Andy, and possibly Carla (Nico’s girlfriend who I know watches Parks n Rec, although Nico probably keeps her as far away from this idiocy as possible) will be the only ones who appreciate the reference.

5. Walsh Me Nae Nae (3-3, last week #4)

After am electric start, this team has been quieter than, well, Walsh. They have a rough week coming up, and it's against a tough opponent. They could soon plummet down these rankings.

Will and Grace - The OG Platonic Pair.  Honestly, might be the closest thing to Phil and Katie’s actual situation, so you should take some pride in this rank.  I’ll be honest I don’t know much about Will and Grace (fitting for you Walshy) other than it was really good at one point, died, and has now come back with mixed reviews.  That sounds pretty similar to Walsh’s team situation.  They’ve got some of the classic big name players, his team died off in the power rankings for a little bit, and now they’re back into the fold with mixed results.  The reboot could be a hit if it avoids alienating too much of it’s crowd with political humor, and Walsh’s team could be a hit if it avoids making terrible lineup decisions such as ever considering benching Chris Thompson again.  Watch out for this bearded couple as they could make some big moves in the pumpkin patch waiver wire through the coming weeks

4. Primo Content (4-2, last week #2)

I can't keep punishing this team for having weak opponents. Ask any racer. Any real racer. Winning's winning. 

Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy -  When you make a TV show that stars a guy and gal, there audience is inherently invested in whether or not the main characters will get romantic. Everyone in the TV biz knows this, which is why the most popular series hinge on “will they?/won’t they?” storylines at some point (ahem, Friends).  But not Liz and Jack.  Those two understand and respect boundaries (if you haven’t watched the show, just know this is a very sarcastic joke).  I mean hell, they even go so far as to get platonically married at some point. (Spoilers, idc, fight me).  Jason is finally deserving of a top 3 spot in the power rankings, and the Liz Lemon Jack Donaghy Platonic Power Couple couldn’t be a more fitting welcome.

2. Watch Me Not TV (5-1, last week #3)

Team Escotto has a controversial no man starting lineup this week, but I still like their chances. That's how good they've been. They're strong everywhere, they're deep everywhere. Their biggest flaw is being in the same division as the next team.

Clarissa and Sam (from Clarissa Explains It All) -Now I know what you’re thinking, “But Will, they’re not platonic!” And let me stop you right there.  I will concede that Clarissa and Sam do try to go out in one episode and even share a kiss, but they're immediately weirded out by the situatiod and decide they work better as platonic friends.  That’s the ultimate step in platonic-hood, which is why I feel it’s worthy of a top 3 spot.  After being platonic for years, Clarissa and Sam try to take the plunge into a romantic relationship, and then immediately go back to platonicdom and carry on as if nothing changed.  The platonic power of friendship was strong enough to beat teenage hormones, just like Nico’s team was strong enough to fend off Bower’s Aaron&Zeke-less squad (but let’s be honest, that didn’t take much power) 

1. Blastoise Brigade (6-0, last week #1)

Dylan’s only comment about my team:

Jimmy and Sarah - The greatest of all time.  I ask you to find me a better platonic twosome than these kids.  I’ll wait, because you can’t.  It might be because Jimmy is the most beta kid on the planet, with his propensity to cry, his brittle body, and permanent night-braced face.  Or it could be due to Sarah’s bossy, spoiled, and all around horrible attitude.  Regardless, it doesn’t matter.  These two are platonic as can be, and I’ll be damned if they ever cross the line.  In fact, Ed, Edd, n Eddy actually goes out of its way to reassure us that it will NEVER happen between them.  In “Take This Ed and Shove It,” we flash forward 90 years into the future where old Jimmy and Sarah are still platonic pals, knitting in some rocking chairs.  Phil, you and Katie should aspire to be like Jimmy and Sarah, just like you should aspire to have a fantasy football team like mine.
