Kidnapped
Chuya Nakahara X Fem!Reader Osamu Dazai (Platonic) X Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1749
Requested: Anon
Request: Original Request
Warning: Injury, Kidnapping, manipulation
Ango knew that you looked like the man that they were looking for but claiming that you were his daughter was a little far fetched for him, he had spent a lot of time with you, Oda and Dazai and he honestly didn’t want to have to kidnap you if it wasn’t necessary. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to convince them to leave you be. He picked up a picture that you had all taken the bar, Oda sitting on your right side, he was on your left sandwiched between you and Dazai who held the camera out, you both looked so happy there and then there was another picture it was just the two of you and he smiled, a sad smile as guilt overtook him.
Ango jumped at the sound of a knock at the door, he looked at the door, if he answered the door, he could get you a message that the agents wouldn’t see but he wasn’t strong enough for that either instead he called out to you “the doors open!” He heard you walk into the house and find him in the living room in front of his desk. “I need some info.” You said Chuya and I have a mission.” He didn’t say anything and you looked at him “are you okay?” Before he could answer you were both surrounded by government agents. You jumped to protect him and when you were close enough to him he sighed. “I’m sorry.” He said softly before pulling the taser out of his pocket and jabbing you with it, you fell to the floor but he could still see the shock on your face as you moved forward one of the soldiers shot a bullet straight through your hand. You punched him and threw him into the other soldier before disarming one of them and grabbing the gun before you could do anything else. You felt something hit you in the back of the head repeatedly.
Ango dove forward catching the soldier's arm before he could bring the metal bat down on your head again “stop! We need her alive.” Ango scolded him, you tried to move catching all their attention and another soldier shot you in the leg “stop playing with her! Cuff her, we need to get out of here before her partner comes looking for her, we won’t be able to beat him or Dazai.”
Dazai sighed as he got off the phone with Oda, he was okay now all he needed was to make sure that you were okay, he knew that you had gone on a mission with Chuya so you were safer with him but he still needed to warn you about Ango before you got back. He just had to hope nothing happened to you before then.
You woke up in a cell, your eyes finding the chain on the door, you moved forward realising that your wounds had been bandaged, she reached out her hands to touch the chain “don’t do that, you won’t be able to use your ability to break out of that cell, it’s electrified.” He explained. “Why did you betray us?” You asked. “I’m sorry your father betrayed the government first.” He answered as if that would explain everything, your eyes widened. “Have you been with them the whole time?” You asked, he turned his eyes away from you before he answered. “Yes.” He answered, you shook your head and disbelief, he was your brother or at least he felt like one. “They’re going to kill you in 2 months, your ability is too dangerous to allow you to fall into enemy hands. But if you tell us where your Dad’s body is, they’ll let you go.” “Even if I told you, they’d still kill me.” You argued. “I;m only trying to do what’s right,” Ango said and you looked at him and raised an eyebrow. “Yes, because stealing an innocent man's body is right.” You nodded, he looked shocked almost as if he hadn’t thought about the finer details, so instead of arguing with you further, he turned and left you alone in your cell, you walked to the back sliding down to sit with your back against the wall, eyes trained on the door ready for the next visitor.
3 weeks had passed and you still hadn’t told them what they wanted to know, they had assigned you a guard that brought you food and water but for the most part you refused to eat “you should eat more than just soup.” The guard encouraged you as she walked in and slid your food towards you, she’d been nothing but kind to you so you looked at her and smiled. “You shouldn’t come into work tomorrow, something bad is going to happen.” You said. “Are you planning something? Please don’t do anything stupid kid.” She pleaded as she stood up, the conversation was too low for any speakers or cameras to pick up.
Dazai had been keeping a close eye on Oda making sure that he was safe, he had tried calling you and was becoming suspicious about you not answering his calls, he looked up as someone walked into his office. Chuya “Chuya! I didn’t think you’d have time for me now that you were in love…” Dazai teased but Chuys didn’t say anything back instead he looked up at the executive. “Have you seen (Y/N)?” He asked “she didn’t show up for the mission, she hasn’t answered any calls for 3 weeks.” “When was the last time that you saw her?” Dazai asked. “She went to get information on the target.” Chuya answered, Dazai’s eyes widened. “From who?” He asked. “That cellar rat that you're all friends with.” Chuya answered. damn it! He had been so focused on Oda that he hadn’t given you proper protection and Ango had managed to get to you. “Dazai. Dazai!” Dazai took a deep breath. “(Y/N) has been kidnaped, Ango is working for the government. I assume when she went to get the information, she was taken.” Dazai explained. “What?” Chuya asked a snarl escaping him as his fist clenched. “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go get her!”
A soldier passed you your food and you looked at the soup on the tray you, picked it up and over the past 3 weeks you had been experimenting with timing and what alerted the guards, it seemed that the chain itself wasn’t connected to the main electrics, so this time you tip the soup over the chain short circuiting the chain before grabbing it, it was easy to break considering the rust that had accumulated over the time that you had been experimenting. Picking up the knife on the tray you stuck it into the lock between the top and the keyhole and pressed down, the door swung open setting off the alarm, you run, one of the soldiers following you, you still had the chain in your hand, you swung it back wrapping the chain around her neck and pulling harshly you weren’t expecting it but you heard the snap of their neck and turned back to see them crumbled on the floor, you carefully sunk around the corner faced with the door that you assumed that they had put all of your things, you opened the door and frowned as you were faced with another soldier, you moved forward before he could do anything headbutting the man a few times, eventually he fell in a heap and you moved around the room collected everything that you had been taken with.
You emerged from the room and they were waiting for you, you dove behind a wall as they started shooting you grabbed one of you bombs arming it and throwing it out towards them setting it off when it was clear of you, you looked around and saw a window, you groaned but you only option was to jump, you knew that you weren’t going to be able to use your ability, so you were just going to have to tuck and roll and hope for the best, so that was what you did. You groaned as you stood and recovered from the jump you had no time to check for injuries instead you pushed yourself forward you needed to get back to the base before getting to you.
“Do you have a plan to help her?” Chuya asked. “I don’t know what they want her for…” Dazai muttered as he pressed the first knuckle of his index finger to his lip, before either of them could say anything more the door to the office was pushed open, Chuya was quick to realise who it was and despite his small stature he supported your weight. “Ango…Ango…” You tried to talk but given the fact that they could both see the many wounds that covered your body it was no surprise that you passed out. Chuya carried you to the infirmary while Dazai reported back to Mori.
When you woke up you were happy to see the Port Mafia infirmary “Hey are you okay?” It was Chuya who asked, your head moved until you were able to look at him and nodded softly. “Ango was the one that took me, he had soldiers there and they wanted to kill me.” You explained and he looked at them, they both looked confused. Dazai was about to ask you about something but Mori walked in. “I would like to talk to (Y/N) alone,” He said as he walked towards the bed and Chuys stood and left, Dazai lingered at the door “the executives are having a meeting with the government officials about Oda maybe you should attend to.” Dazai left and Mori sit down where he was, he glanced down for a second fiddling with something before finally looking at you. “Did they ask about your father’s body?” He asked. You nodded “can you tell me where your father’s body is?” You shook your head again and he just nodded in response “I have one last thing to ask you.” “Of course sir.” You answered. “Do not help Oda, no matter what… If you do, I might have to hand you to the government myself.” He said and you looked at him. “Is something going to happen to Oda?” You asked. “Focus on yourself… And help your boss.” He ordered as he stood up to leave.

Every time Dazai smiles in the entirety of the light novels (the official translations) Part 2.
Volume 2. "Osamu Dazai and the dark era."
Please, proceed with caution and get some tissues. For the especially masochistic, there's this track I always imagine playing when reading volume 2. It's from BSD game. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Scarlet Sky or Dear Prince, but I just have a sort of involuntary response to this specific track.
Without further ado...
Prologue:
“Yep.” Dazai smirked as he looked himself over.”
“Hey, Ango! Long time no see! Looking good!” Dazai raised a hand with a smile.
“That’s pretty meek coming from you, Ango Sakaguchi—you’re the man who knows everything about the Mafia,” Dazai added with a smile.
“Oh, really? I just had a feeling I’d run into you both if I came here tonight, so here I am.” Dazai grinned, as if amused by his own words.
“When we grilled Dazai later about what was in the hot pot, he just giggled.
“Guess there’s not much you can do about that,” Dazai said with a smile.
“Oh, hey. Let’s all take a picture together,” Dazai cheerfully suggested out of the blue."
“I just felt like if we don’t take a picture now, there’ll be nothing left to prove we spent this time together, I guess.” He grinned brightly.
...
Chapter 1:
“…Ha-ha! Just kidding!” Dazai abruptly added in a cheery tone.
“The reason you have so many people following you is that you don’t turn your back on them. I’ll leave things in your hands. I won’t tell the boss.” He patted Hirotsu on the shoulder and smiled.
“Those are soldiers.” Dazai’s lips slightly curled the moment he laid eyes on the photos. “Seasoned ones, at that.”
“Get me a coffee with lots of milk. Make sure to cool it off!” Dazai cheerfully yelled out as the man dashed away. “Oh, but no ice, okay? If you can get me a decaf, that’d be even better. And double the sugar, please!”
“This entire area is going to turn into a war zone.” Dazai gazed at the city skyscrapers and gave a small smile.
Dazai faintly smiled, then said, “I know. That’s not what you were asking, right? But, Odasaku, these men were professional assassins. It doesn’t matter how good you are. Killing them was the only option.”
“I can see you’re not happy… I’m sorry for compromising your principles.” His smile weakened as he spoke.
“That’s it?” Dazai gave a disappointed smile. “Piece of cake. Here, let me see it.”
“If you just squeeze your finger ever so slightly, you can give me precisely what I crave most. The only thing I’m afraid of is that you’ll miss.” His lips curled as he approached the man.
“Now shoot. Right here. You can’t miss from this close up.” Dazai grinned from ear to ear.”
Still pointing at his forehead, Dazai closed in on the enemy with a smile that could’ve even been described as peaceful.
“Sorry to shock you like that.” Noticing my gaze, Dazai scratched the side of his head and grinned.
I didn’t say anything. I just stared at Dazai as he explained with a smile.”
Chapter 2:
“Maybe I should recruit them…” Dazai smirked while wiping his sweat.
“A Mafia member who refuses to kill, talented yet has no interest in advancing through the ranks, a man who’s raising five orphans—Sakunosuke Oda.” Dazai smirked.
A few moments went by as he listened to whoever was on the other side, but soon enough, his lips suddenly twisted into a grin.
At one point during our mission, Dazai had told me with an uncomfortable grimace, “It smells so bad that I want to cut my nose off.”
“Heh-heh-heh-heh…” Dazai began to chuckle, smiling from ear to ear for some reason.
“You fools!” Dazai’s lips curled into a sneer in genuine disgust.
Chapter 3:
“Hey, Odasaku. You’re awake now, right? How are you feeling?” Dazai walked into the room with a cheerful smirk.
“Akutagawa—he’s like a sword without a sheath.” Dazai grinned from ear to ear.
“I thought you had no interest in fighting,” Dazai replied with a smile.
“Y’know, it really hurts me that you consider something as small as this a debt.” He gave a feeble smirk.
“To meet someone.” Dazai smiled.
“Oh? I think it’s kinda cute, going to such lengths to plan another person’s death. I never would’ve thought of doing that.” There was more than a hint of amusement in his tone.
“Where else?” Dazai wryly smirked.
“I found a handkerchief at the site of the explosion.” Dazai grinned fiendishly.
“As if.” Only the corners of Dazai’s lips curled. “We came to get information on Mimic. You knew that.”
“Odasaku’s marksmanship…” Dazai broke into a meaningful grin.
Dazai looked at Ango, then beamed as he said, “Oh my. It almost sounds like you think you’ll be able to leave here alive, Ango.”
The air froze. Ango’s expression slowly faded away, but Dazai was still smiling.
It was the photo we’d taken in that very bar only a few days ago. All three of us were laughing and smiling.
...
Epilogue:
The cheerful gentleman, Dazai, tilted the sake bottle and poured the chief some alcohol.
“I can figure out most things if I look into them.” Dazai beamed with a shrug.
Chief Taneda stared at Dazai in shock, but Dazai just innocently grinned.
“You’d lose your job if I did that.” Dazai wryly smirked.
To be continued...

Title: Three Unspoken Messages and Three Words Left Unsaid (AO3) Fandom: Bungo Stray Dogs Characters: Sakunosuke Oda, Osamu Dazai Relationships: Dazai & Oda, Dazai/Chuuya (Soukoku), Dazai & Ougai Mori Warnings: Major Character Death, Angst, Grief/Mourning, Words Left Unsaid, Alcohol Words: 1,078
“An arrogant enemy who feels invincible is the most vulnerable opponent of all.”
“Got an early start,” Sakunosuke Oda commented, sitting in his usual place beside the young Osamu Dazai, whose empty beer glass was being replaced with a fresh one. Bar Lupin’s bartender had Oda’s coffee ready in another few seconds, without Oda even raising his hand.
“Is it early?” Dazai asked with characteristic breeziness, watching the bubbles floating to the top of his glass before taking a generous swig. Someone who didn’t know him as well might not have noticed, but to Oda, Dazai seemed… off, somehow. He couldn’t quite place what it was, but this was not everyday, run-of-the-mill Dazai, if such words could even be applied to the eccentric teenager. He proceeded with caution, knowing his friend would only clam up if he got the sense he was being pried at.
“Early for you,” Oda shrugged. “Was sure I’d beat you here tonight.” He nudged him lightly with his elbow. “Hard day at the office?”
Dazai grinned, and there was something off about that, too. It wasn’t that it was insincere — Oda knew Dazai well enough by now to know most of his smiles were insincere — but rather that insincerity seemed to sit differently on his face today, as if it were slightly askew.
“Not at all, not at all!” Dazai crowed cheerily. “Actually, quite the opposite; today was an exceptionally good day! You see, I started early ’cause I’m celebrating,” he said, raising his glass. “That yappy little sheep dog Nakahara Chuuya is finally dead.”
“Dead?” A bolt of shock shot through Oda’s chest. Oda hadn’t known Chuuya well himself, but he had listened to Dazai talk about him, had heard the way they sniped at each other over radio comms.
He had known they were close.
“As a doornail,” Dazai chirped, reaching in front of Oda to clink his glass to Oda’s mug when Oda didn’t move to return his toast. He took another deep drink of his beer. “And it took some doing, let me tell you. I mean, he was a detestable little slug with shit for brains, but it can’t be denied that his ability made him quite the force of nature.” He heaved a theatrical sigh. “Even so, up against some of Europe’s most powerful gifted, and without me there to bring him down from Corruption…”
He spread his hands and shrugged, still wearing an easy air, but Oda didn’t miss the brief flicker of guilt that ran through his facade.
“You weren’t there?” Oda asked.
Dazai shrugged again. “It was supposed to be something he could handle on his own,” he explained, “but it seems that we were misinformed as far as that went. You know, speaking of that, I was really hoping Ango would show up tonight. I have some questions for him about that information. And its source.”
Bitterness crept into his voice for the first time as he said this. He polished off his beer and signaled the bartender for another.
“What are you saying?” Oda asked. “You think Chuuya was set up?”
Dazai didn’t answer right away. The bartender poured him another glass, and Dazai immediately brought it to his lips. Oda noticed that one of the boy’s knees was bouncing under the bar, and a realization hit him like a bullet: Dazai was scared.
“I know he was set up,” Dazai said quietly, his insincere smile giving way to a flat expression that made the quick-minded kid look eerily hollow. “And I know who did it, too. Not that it matters, of course. He’ll have been very thorough, making it impossible to prove.”
“Dazai.” Oda placed a hand on his bony shoulder, turning him slightly on his stool to make him meet his gaze. “Tell me.”
Dazai choked out a brittle laugh. “Come on, Odasaku, you haven’t figured it out?” he teased. “Why else would I want to bend Ango’s ear?”
The way he said it sounded more like he wanted to wring Ango’s neck.
“An inside job?” Oda asked.
“As inside as it gets,” Dazai said with a cold smile. “The boss needed the Europeans dealt with, and they were. But he also had a message to get across.” His knuckles were white around his beer glass. “A message for me.”
Oda’s heart twisted in his chest as the pieces came together. Dazai had become a Port Mafia executive at the age of 16. He was ambitious and cunning, qualities that were good to have in a subordinate — provided they stayed your subordinate. If Mori felt Dazai was becoming a bit big for his breeches, having Chuuya killed was an effective way to address it. It sent not one message, in fact, but three: This is how easily I can dispose of someone, even someone as powerful as Chuuya. This is what happens to the people you care about when you forget your place. And, perhaps worst of all, Pretending you don’t care about someone will not fool me.
Dazai was not an easy person to rattle, but he was shaking beneath Oda’s hand.
“I’ll have to kill him, of course,” Dazai said, trying to reclaim some of his earlier irreverence. Oda’s head jerked up to look for the bartender, but he seemed to have done the smart thing and disappeared for the moment. “That goes without saying. It’s going to be tougher than I thought it would be, but now that I have a better idea of what I’m up against I can —”
“Dazai.” Oda cut him off softly, squeezing his shoulder. Dazai looked up at him, and Oda’s heart clenched when he saw that every layer of insincerity with which Dazai usually insulated himself had fallen away, leaving in his unbandaged left eye a roiling mixture of fear and anger and grief. More than ever before, he actually looked like the child he was.
“I never got to tell him,” Dazai whispered as tears began to slide down one cheek. “Fucking — Mori knew, but I never got to say it. I never got to tell him — I never got to tell Chuuya I —”
The words he never got to say remained unsaid as Dazai lost the rest of the sentence to sobs. Oda tugged the boy off his stool and into a tight hug, pushing a hand up into his unruly brown curls to gently guide his head down to his shoulder. He held Dazai there for a long time, saying nothing and letting him soak his jacket with tears.

Can’t Make Promises
A mini-fic for @chaotic-coyote featuring Motonari, who is in fact, a very bad boy. For my 400 follower celebration!
June, Motonari, Spicy and Sweet The roll of the boat on gentle waves soothed Motonari in ways very few things could. It was the sensation of being out of control, immersed in the chaos of the unpredictable sea. Giving his power up to the whims of the ocean.
He glanced to where the Oda princess sat, her knees pulled up to her chest, head down. If only she could understand . . . you had to let go of control to see the truth of the world. That nothing meant anything, nothing but what you did with your own two hands. But she wouldn’t even open her eyes to try to see what he did.
Motonari crossed the deck and pulled her up by her arm.
She looked at him with wide eyes, still afraid, though he’d treated her kindly. Protected her. From his own men, sure, but it still counted.
“I wanna show ya something.” He smiled at her, but this didn’t seem to help. She just nodded mutely, still pale with fear.
He walked her across to the rail and pointed at the sea, still holding to her with his other hand. “Ya see that?”
“The - the ocean?”
Her voice was like afternoon sun. Warm and bright. He didn’t turn to look at her, worried she would clam up again. “Yeah. Ya know what it is?”
“Ummm . . . water? A lot of water?”
Motonari laughed. “It is that, princess. But it’s more. It’s chaos. Freedom. An’ it’s mine, or I’m its.” He had a sudden idea. A way to explain without clumsy words. With her arm firmly grasped, he pulled her up onto the rail.
“M-motonari, I - I’m afraid we’re going to fall in,” she whimpered.
“Nah, we ain’t gonna fall. We’re gonna jump.” He didn’t give her a chance to reply. He leapt from the rail, and took her with him down into the blue.
The princess shrieked for half a breath before the water covered them. He could make out her shocked expression in the clear water. Her eyes were closed tight, jaw clenched. She began to panic, flailing.
Motonari let her bat at him as he guided her up to the surface. It didn’t really hurt and she looked pretty funny. He was laughing when their heads brok the surface.
She sputtered. “You - you! I hate you!”
He pulled her tight against his chest, stilling her arms. “I don’t hate ya, princess. And that flush in yer cheeks makes me think ya don’t hate me so much either.”
The Oda princess pushed away from him, and he let her. “You - you don’t know anything. Anything about me!” Her eyes found the ship. It was still moving, leaving them in its wake. “The ship! Motonari! They’re leaving us.”
He chuckled. “Yep. They’ll come back soon enough. I do this all tha time.” He grinned at her.
“Well, I’m not going to sit here and wait.” She looked toward the distant shore. “I’ll just swim that way.”
“Wouldn’t do that, princess.”
“Pfft. I’m not listening to you.” She turned and began to swim. But the tide and current were pushing out from the land, and she didn’t make any progress. Her movements grew more tired as she fought the waves and the heavy, wet cloth of her kimono.
Motonari stayed with her, in arms reach. He didn’t want to drown her, afterall.
She finally stopped struggling and looked at him. “I’m not getting anywhere. You brought me out here to drown me.”
“Nah. I just wanted ta swim. Cool us both off. And . . .” Motonari found he didn’t quite have the words for the rest. Or, more honestly, he didn’t want to say it. That he’d brought her out here to share something special to him.
“Great. So I’ll drown on accident then.”
He chuckled. “I’m not gonna let ya die, princess. Not on accident.” Or at all, but she didn’t need to know that. “If ya wanna swim easy, ya need to lose yer heavy clothes.”
“My!” She glared at him. “My clothes?!”
He shrugged as if it didn’t matter to him one way or another. Which it didn’t. If she wouldn’t ditch them on her own, he’d pull them off of her when it looked like her strength was fading.
Her hot gaze didn’t leave him as she reached under the water to undo the ties of her kimono. “You better have something for me to wear when the ship comes back.”
“Sure,” his grin widened. He wouldn’t mind dressing her up. He had lots of expensive clothing, stolen from traders or bought at port. Some of it was bound to fit.
Her kimono and obi floated up, bubbling for a moment before sinking again. She was left with nothing but a thin, white shift. It clung to her skin, nearly transparent.
Motonari couldn’t help the way his eyes slipped down her figure. He could see her breasts under the water, her bare legs kicking. His hands itched to touch her and his chest felt tight and hot. This was lust, yes, but . . . something more. Something as wild and chaotic as the sea.
The princess blushed, her hands trying to cover her chest and swim at the same time. Unsuccessfully.
With effort, Motonari turned away. He cleared his throat before speaking but his voice still came out rough and low. “Should be easier to stay up now. Do ya know how ta float? That’s even easier.”
“Is that what you wanted to show me? How to float?” He felt the water stir against his skin as she got closer.
“Nah.” He swallowed again. Why had she closed the distance between them? He felt her leg brush against his. Was she trying to taunt him? Did she not know what a thin thread his control was held by?
“You know, now that I’ve stopped being entirely pissed off at you, this is kind of nice. The water feels good. The motion is nice. And it’s beautiful. Everywhere I look, endless blue.”
Her hand reached out, touched his shoulder.
Motonari caught it and spun to face her. She was, perhaps, a handsbreadth away. Her face close enough to kiss. So he did. He caught her lips with his, loving the taste of salt and sweetness. The way her body tensed at his touch, and then clung to him. Her tongue playfully pressing against his. She was every bit as hungry for this as he.
He broke the kiss to look at her face. Would he see the same passion in her eyes that burned in his heart?
The princess looked at him with wide eyes. There was desire there, but still a frisson of fear.
The blend was heady, intoxicating, but . . . he didn’t want to conquer her. He wanted - wanted - Motonari cut that thought off like a tangled net. “Ya taste real sweet, princess. Might have ta move yer sleeping quarters and make ya an official bed warmer.”
This had the desired effect. She pushed away from him with an angry expression. “It was just a kiss,” she pouted. “And you made me do it. Don’t read anything into it.”
“Sure, sure princess.” He laughed, though it sounded more forced than normal. “So, ya want ta learn ta float?”
She sighed. “I guess. I’m not a very good swimmer so . . . yeah. Just, no more kissing, ok?”
“Can’t make promises, but fer you I’ll try.” He grinned at her expression, half hopeful, half anxious. “Come on then. First, ya gotta lay back. Like on a futon.”
She tried to lay back, but flailed at the water.
Motonari went to her, and put his hands under her back, supporting her. “Ya gotta trust me, princess. Me an’ the ocean. Ya may not know what we’re gonna do next, but ya gotta believe we got yer back. Like this.”
It took a few breaths for her to begin to relax. To trust him. But she did.
He loved the feel of her skin on his calloused hands as he slid one to her shoulders, and the other to her low back. He couldn’t help but go lower still, caressing the round curves of her hips and ass. Damn but she felt good.
“Watch where you touch,” she hissed, but she didn’t move.
“I gotta support ya, right?” He grinned and obstinately went lower still, stroking the back of her thigh. She made a little sound of pleasure that stirred him, leaving an ache in his chest and balls. He knew he should stop himself but he’d never been good at impulse control.
“Y-yeah, but I think - I think I can . . . just . . . let the water?” She sounded strained, and bit her lip. The expression sent a shock of desire through him. Like a bolt of lightning when it hit the water.
“Ya can,” he nodded, letting his fingertips draw little characters on the back of her leg. He didn’t miss the way she shivered, nor the way his body responded to it. He slid his hand to her inner thigh and up. He could feel the heat coming off her. The need. His knuckles brushed her delicate cleft, tempting. Taunting.
And she, blessed beauty, made a choked half-moan.
“I can let ya go . . .” He made the offer, her last out, as far as he was concerned.
“N-no, damn you.” She closed her eyes. “Don’t you dare. You started this, Motonari.”
“Mhmm. And I finish what I start.”

Bellamy Law
Hm… This would be an attempt to explore the parallels and contrasts between Bellamy and Law. I've always found it fascinating that the former was a foil to the latter.
They both come from well-off towns in the North Blue.
Bellamy left because of boredom. Law had no choice because Flevance.
Both ended up seeking Doflamingo because of his notoriety as a pirate. Both admired him initially
Doffy favored one over the other though. Bellamy always sought his approval but was never really part of the inner circle Doflamingo cared about.
Law got the dubious privilege of being part of the family despite being absent for so long. Even offered one of the highest seats by Doffy's side for seemingly nothing.
Law had no trouble turning his back on Doffy once he realized the man's nature. Bellamy tried to stick to his principles until the end despite admitting that he new he was wrong.
Bellamy can (and did) quit piracy after his ordeal with Doflamingo. Having the option to live peacefully, perhaps a return to his previous life (the one he considered boring). Law can't do that quite as easily what with his Devil fruit and his reputation.
I thought it would be interesting trying to explore what Bellamy was thinking. Did he hear the Donquixote Pirates talk about their missing 'family'? Did he get to see Doffy be amused at Law's rise as a Supernova while he kept being reminded of his own status? Did Law save Bellamy partially because he also saw what he could have been had Corazon not saved him?
On principle, Bellamy should have hated Trafalgar Law. Does. Bastard even saved him without him wanting it. But there was something about the shadows haunting those eyes and Bellamy started to wonder.
He had heard the family talk about Law before. The child personally taught by Doflamingo, chosen to be his right hand. Never was he compared to the man because Law was just obviously better. Smarter. Stronger. Bellamy was ever just an uncouth thug.
He was allowed to 'borrow' Doflamingo's symbol while Law had an empty seat waiting for his return–a seat Bellamy had wanted enough to risk everything for.
Maybe he had resented, Trafalgar Law for carelessly rejecting the things he had that Bellamy had always desired. In the end too, Trafalgar Law did prove to be better. He'd done as a child what Bellamy had trouble doing even as he was now.
But having been given the chance to observe the other man as they all recovered, he wondered, perhaps for the first time, whether despite Law being better than Bellamy, Bellamy had had it better–barring the poor life choices.

Law and Bible stuff
This is just me wanting to know how many biblical parallels and themes I can draw from Law, the Donquixote brothers, the characters associated with them, and his backstory. Honestly not sure whether this would become a fic and in what style or I'm gonna give up and just make it a post.
Not gonna elaborate on them much but here are the ideas in more bullet points (yay):
Law gets familiar with all four horsemen of the apocalypse: conquest, war, famine, and death. He even survives them.
Law is like the son in the parable of the prodigal son to the Donquixote pirates. Except the themes are inverted.
Doflamingo and Rocinante -> Cain and Abel
Ope Ope no Mi -> Granting eternal life by sacrificing one's own life
Gods descending or living among humans. Also, Homing and his family being prosecuted for other people's sins.
That scene where they were hanged by their arms outstretched looks like a crucifixion. Also, Rocinante was on the right while Doflamingo was on the left. Similar to how the penitent thief was on the right and the unrepentant one to the left.
Flevance being considered a paradise with walls/fences/gates and somewhere Law cannot return to.
In the panel where the Donquixote pirates are seated at the table, there were thirteen of them with Doffy at the center. Same as The Last Supper
There are a lot more of these (David and Goliath, Solomon, Jonah, Job, etc.) but I kinda lost the notes and some are more visual so I can't really explain it too well. This would is a drabble series to emphasize or highlight the parallels so no proper snippet for this one.

Law is a substitute kindergarten teacher
Originally an idea to get around most of the Heart Pirates being nameless but evolved to include other characters as kids. Chopper is a kindergarten teacher and he convinces Law to take over his class for a week because somehow Law has the qualifications to and free time. Naturally, he wasn't able to say no.
Unfortunately, despite not being terrible at handling children, Chopper's class is filled with menaces. Also, despite not being terrible, Law can still be awkward so...
"Mr. Trofao–fargar—"
"Trafalgar."
The kid—which one was this one again? Shit, he should really get them name plates or something—scrunched up his face and tried harder, "Tar-pal—"
"Law. Just call me Law."
"Mr. Low"—eh, close enough—"can I go to the bathroom?" Wide imploring eyes stared up at him.
"Sure, go ahead." Law gestured towards the exit of the classroom with his head.
The kid just stared expectantly at him and he tried to suppress the need to narrow his eyes.
"Is there… anything else?"
"Mr. Chopper always comes with me to hold my hand."
Really?
"Mr. Chopper isn't here. You should practice doing it on your own now." He said after a deep inhale.
"But the monsters might get me…"
"No, they won't."
"You don't know that."
"I do." Before the kid could open his mouth again to argue, he added, "Besides, children taste terrible so you're safe."
The kid looked stricken and took a step back from him. Uh oh. Glistening eyes, wobbling lower lip… "Alright! I'll go with you." The kid did not look reassured. In fact he looked like going alone with Law was the last thing he wanted to do. Guess, he kinda implied that he ate children didn't he? Oops.
Well, the kid needs to go and he's not going to be cleaning up after him if he wets himself.
Law glanced at the rest of the children. It was Arts and Craft time and they seemed preoccupied enough. Still, Law doubted Chopper ever left these kids alone–already he could see some of them glancing up at him, waiting for him to leave no doubt to cause trouble. That Monkey kid in particular looked extremely suspicious.
He stood up from his crouch and clapped twice to get everyone's attention.
"Alright. Fall in line. Single file."
There was some grumbling and questioning directed at him. "What's going on?"
Law shrugged. "You're all going to the bathroom."

Shichibukai Application Forms
Crackfic where the World Government and relevant parties review various Shichbukai Applications. Most submitted by the pirates applying themselves, some produced by their own staff. They discuss and debate. As well as judge pirate resumes.
She scanned the document. Terrible format, really. If you fail to impress within the first page, you've failed entirely. There just wasn't anyone promising enough in this batch of applications or any of the other ones before. The last one had been that clown. "Apprentice to the Pirate King," was a pretty hefty credential.
"Oh, how about this one? Three years experience pillaging, and they even listed all the towns they looted." One of the newly transferred administrative staff said.
"None of these are worth considering at all. You know, when Mihawk was asked to submit his application, he hadn't bothered with all of this. He just sent us a card with his name on it and the title "World's Strongest Swordsman," underneath."
The staff perked up. "Oh, there was an application like that." There was scramble and some shuffling before a plain white card was produced. "Here."
"'From Trafalgar Law'. What does this even mean?"
"Well, it did come with a big box..."

Reverse Hanahaki Disease
(?? do u spit out flowers when your nemesis walks by?)
Haha. At first it was going to be that way (because it is hilarious) but the inflicted would probably choke to death too soon. Or if both enemies had it, they'd end up just coughing flowers at each other until they stopped being enemies.
The version I ended up going with was that this variant of Hanahaki, instead of afflicting those with unrequited love, affected those in denial instead. The reverse part comes from the original idea that this would usually happen if you somehow fell in love with your nemesis (someone you originally hated). So it's not the thought that the other person can't love you, it's that you can't accept that you love that other person. You get cured by confessing to the person sincerely.
This is actually another KidLaw (surprise!). And the flower coughed up directly represents the person they're in love with (I went with Oda's flower representation for them because I found it funny for plot)
So the idea is that, you get sick but you don't automatically know (maybe) who it is because that's part of being in denial. Kid and Law have many enemies after all. In this story they both get it though not exactly at the same time and not known to the other.
He survived Amber Lead Syndrome only to be killed off by a stupid flower disease that apparently knows more about his own feelings than he does.
He glared at the petals. Tulips. Red.
An image of a cocky grin and a shock of red hair flashed through his mind and—nope. That's not right.
He coughed harder, tears stinging his eyes with the effort. More flowers. Now he has enough for a bouquet.
Alright, he was a doctor. He could do this. Differential time.
First, which variant does he have. He doesn't particularly feel unloved or hopeless. There wasn't anyone he wanted in particular to love him. Ok, nothing. It was maybe safe to say he had that other variant.
Which was stupid because Law had many enemies and he hated all of them.
And cue the racking coughs. More red. He was very familiar with that particular shade.
New theory. This was a new variant that somehow makes you sick when you think of the person you hated the most.
Yes, that had to be it. He thought as he all but collapsed on the floor from the sudden paroxysm.
I knew this was gonna get long. :) Oh well...
Thank you for playing. :D

When I was younger, I used to play otome games, which were and continue to be hilarious for their absurdity e.g. getting transported back to the Warring States period and romancing Oda Nobunaga et al. I’d play these with my friends because of the bad storylines, and frankly questionable love interests and we’d spend all our time literally breaking down how bad these stories were, like jfc please actually do something, protagonist. Also in no way feel obligated to read this because this is just...word vomit for my own personal reference haha. Honestly don’t read this. Maybe one day I’ll turn this into some kind of actual essay about the impact on these games on wider culture or something (after I write about why romance in AOT is fine and everyone’s just reading it wrong and actually Isayama is peak romance writer and should write a massive Mills & Boon franchise around uh...some characters). But anyway.
However, amongst all of these was probably the game with the most generic concept was Wizardess Heart, which was this magic school which the protagonist attended. Over the course of two weeks, she would have to be partnered up with a “buddy” and they would help each other with their magic (they also fell in love over these two weeks LOL and quite honestly her best romantic choice was her roommate, which was never an option :( She was, for a while also the only other female character in the school who actually had a personality).
Anyway, the point is - the setting was clearly a riff on certain franchises, the whole system was super basic...but. These stories had no right to be as good as they were. Or perhaps they had every right. Because from the ones I played, they were...genuinely really interesting. Each storyline was a season, and there were three romanceable characters, who all had their own individual plotlines but...tied into one coherent plot, as either a protagonist or an antagonist, which I still find - kind of revolutionary for an otome game haha (I’m not counting Mystic Messenger bc I actually enjoyed getting to set up a bakery and cult investigation).
But honestly? These were within the universe, believable but also super crazy stories. I only ever played two “seasons” fully, because of the ticket mechanic, but the second one has literally stayed with me in terms of really interesting perspective, and the characters themselves because if the first season was mildly crazy, season two was insane and focused on these three characters: Klaus Goldstein (...no comment lmao, I do hate how he’s the figurehead of the game), Serge Durandal (the best character tbh) and Azusa Kuze (a piece of shit and not in a good way, what are the messages this game is telling us). Each season had a mystery as a premise, and the second one was about mysterious animal deaths occurring around the school.
I don’t think I’ll ever really be able to explain Wizardess Heart comprehensively, but the personal lives of these characters? Was crazy. I loved they all had cameos in each other’s storylines and were so tightly linked. Like you have Klaus who does actually have the least interesting plotline, but a shared tragic backstory with Serge (more on that later, because this is literally peak melodrama lmao). You have Azusa who comes from fantasy Japan in that universe, which has been overrun by nature spirits who are taking over because they think humans are overstepping their boundaries, and Azusa has signed a deal with one of them to bring back his dead brother, and in fact is being manipulated by visions of said brother (and even with that in context, he’s still actual trash for other reasons, and I can’t believe the happy end for his route is to get married and have kids with him EW).
My favourite character in this however was Serge Durandal who is also a premium shit-stirrer but never super maliciously haha (apparently I have a favourite character archetype I’m a fan of). Even now he’s literally the best character because he’s such a passive aggressive individual to Klaus (who deserves it). But their shared backstory cracks me up, is kind of sad and ridiculously absurd because they’re both so fixated on the past. I also personally find his storyline interesting from a character progression viewpoint, because he’s the main character’s idol when she starts at the school, but has mysteriously disappeared.
So basically in Klaus’ storyline, he always references this dead friend he’s hung up over (although the “friend” part is debatable maybe haha) and you help him investigate the dead pigeons. Ofc you then find out that polite, charming Azusa is the antagonist of the season and you have to play through the next routes in order to get a better picture of this. But throughout Klaus’ route, this character called Randy March (unfortunate name lmao) keeps on popping up. He’s funny, doesn’t treat the main character as inconvenience (best friend goals right there) but what’s more interesting is how he’s never in the same room as Klaus; as soon as he hears that he’s approaching, he just...disappears. And this continues for the whole of the story until the end, when they finally meet each other face to face, and Klaus reacts badly. Not quite in an upset way, more shocked - but it’s clear that they have a History.
So - cue “Randy’s” route. He is the same as he is in Klaus’ route, and still dodges bumping into Klaus, but then - then, they bump into each other far earlier in his route (one thing I do like about these stories is how the main character does actually have some impact on the plot. It all follows the same storyline, with the same conclusion, but they do diverge because the character happens to interact with different characters and some things can’t happen if she isn’t there for it). Leading up to this, Randy has been very cagey about being the main character’s “buddy” and insists he already has one, and he really, really gets awkward when the main character states that she really idolises Serge Durandal (who in this is like, IDK good at animal magic like the main character).
And then, my god, the reveal. The fact that Randy March is not, in fact, Randy March, but Serge Durandal (which honestly is such a cool name comparatively lol, I named all my other otome protagonists Serge Durandal). And that Randy March, is in fact, the dead friend of Klaus who Serge has been impersonating for literal years. On top of this? Serge was also a best friend of Randy, who was his “buddy” and leading up to Randy’s death, he and Klaus were involved in a rivalry over his friendship (and I’m not joking I do actually think this was some kind of unvoiced love triangle, because both Serge and Klaus genuinely say that they’re attracted to the main character because she reminds them of Randy, they need to get over this before they can actually engage in a romantic relationship with anyone else kthx. Also at some point, Serge actually says he loved Randy in a way that really can’t be construed as entirely platonic, and the main character says it as well, and considering her personality and the way she interprets things, when she says love - she definitely means romantically).
Klaus holds Serge responsible for Randy’s death, as the two were working on a project together which led directly to it. His first reaction on ever hearing Serge’s name is “the murderer” which continues all the way up until the end of the story when they resolve their character arcs (also incredibly satisfying).
Apparently the reason behind Serge impersonating his dead friend is because he felt so guilty and so ashamed and willingly accepted the blame that Klaus placed on him, he felt that if he became Randy, it would basically be like letting his friend experience the life he didn’t get to have, and he’s spent years searching for a cure to revive him. This has taken him to Hinomoto, where he’s become friends with Azusa (drawing him into the storyline) and back to the main setting of Gedonelune. Side note, Azusa, I’m not going to even go into your character because you’re such a piece of shit and I only played through your storyline because I felt compelled to get the full picture.
Ofc, this all links to the main plot - because at this time of year, there’s a whole thing related to a unicorn appearing in the nearby forest. This is a unicorn who has struck a deal with Serge years prior to the main storyline who is Serge’s last hope of reviving Randy, and Azusa finds out about this and wants to bring his brother back etc. and this all culminates in a massive showdown.
Intense.
Anyway, at the end of this, peace returns etc. and there’s a sequel I haven’t actually played but you know what’s perfect about the ending? Serge ends up staying on as a prefect - the same role as Klaus and they have to share a room. I cannot describe how funny their interactions are for the rest of the story and the other storylines they have to live together.
I’m not entirely sure what the point of this was, apart from an exercise in pinning down precisely what I liked about this story but - it’s certainly one that’s stuck with me through a LOT of otome haha.

Sanji is just any other guy for Nami? What B.S....
There was a time where people thought Nami hated Sanji🙄(some still do🤦🏻♂️), there was also a time where people admitted she does not hate him but they said she couldn’t care less🙃. It stuck to me for a while because all I thought is “Bullshit...”.
So, as a SaNami shipper, I was skimming through some arcs that may contain some moments or just simple things that I may have to consider.
And let me say.... I am intrigued to say the least.
Skypiea:
I know some might say: “Well he took the huge blow for both of them so of course Nami would worry about him first”.... true but remember Ussop got shocked twice as well. Not to mention Enel beat the crap out of Ussop to the point he couldn’t move, and all of that in front of Nami. But as we can see she was a bit more concerned about one than the other. (I used “a bit” cuz I know she cares about Ussop, I’m a fan of OP to begin with so I am well-aware)
Dressrosa:
She was just screaming to get the help from Law, but once they appeared she was only concerned about one. And once again, I know some people’s argument would be: “Sanji is a member of the crew, it is only natural for her to do that”. Once again true and sure whatever. But what I want highlight here is Oda choosing Nami for Sanji and Brook for Law. Why? This might make sense in the one I will mention later...
WCI (1):
Once again here we have another strawhat member calling out Luffy (Chopper) this time but who was already with Luffy and saw how beat up he was while rushing through danger is concerned about Sanji first and foremost.....
If you are not having it, then that is fine by me... it is already in the manga. I dont need to say anything now do I?
WCI (2):
Ok.... People say that after Pudding came and took Sanji they considered her as an ally. And we saw, yea she did help in baking the cake. But once again like in Dressrosa, Brook is happy to see BOTH Sanji and Pudding, but with Nami it is a different story. As we saw, both Sanji and Pudding baked the cake and delivered it at the last moment, and Nami was happy about that but more so about him arriving in the nick of time rather than the cake.
Now these are the moments that I didn’t even need to explain as they are pretty straightforward. But there are some other moments that are not so clear, so I am only going to mention them but always take them with a grain of salt.... nothing wrong with being honest.
I am trying my best not to make any reaches, because I know those put people off... including me.
Enies Lobby:
In this moment, she knew from the note and from the very first thing Sanji says in the call that Ussop is also there. But instead of saying “Will they be ok?” she is concerned about him specifically. He did say that thanks to the two idiots (Ussop and Franky) that things got complicated, Ussop is in danger too I am just saying
Zou:
Now why do I think that this moment is very important to consider and should not be overlooked soo easily? Think about it.... have we been in this kind of situation before? Where Nami is told to head to safety or she looks for one by herself? Lets see:
-Luffy told her to go back to the ship because a battle will break out and it will be safer for her to back up. She does that and does not look back.
-With Zoro he didnt even have to say anything😂, she was already gone. No need to tell her anything.
-To help Camie she immediately took herself out of the picture, because that is Nami. She is always looking out for her own safety.
-In Fishman Island, after she completed her task, she stayed close to the ship and once Franky said he had a weapon she jumped right inside of it because it is safer than being outside.
-In Dressrosa, even though there is no safe place per say, but protecting the ship had the least risk (at the time😅) and therefore she is apart of that team. Because it was the safest option.
So when Sanji told her to stay back because he wanted her safety, all of the sudden “She got curious” in other translations she says “she got worried” but it doesnt matter either which.....
Putting herself in danger after being in a safe place is soo un-Nami-like. It is weird but that is why I am taking it with a grain of salt, there might be other moments that I forgot to mention but that is the premise of my assumption...
We already saw time and time again that Nami considers Luffy, Zoro and Sanji to be monsters.
We already saw the times where Sanji uses his brain and is more of an intellectual than the other two, and she is there to see that.
I already showcased in one of my other posts about how Nami does not treat Sanji like Luffy and Zoro pretty much all the time except for some instances.
So if Nami knows that Sanji is powerful, smart, capable and dependable.... why did she get “curious” or “worried”?

2.43 ep 5 thoughts: Oda and Aoki edition
sooo as you all know i’m an Oda (and Oda/Aoki) stan, so I just wanna take some time to talk about Oda and Aoki’s dynamics in episode 5 and compare it to the book a little
as a note, I’ll be commenting using my translated copy of the novel, which I’m pretty sure is based on the tankobon edition of the first arc (‘S1′); there may be some revisions in the bunkobon edition that i don’t have access to
[2.43 BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD]
while i think the tension during the club activity suspension had been downgraded from “this is a huge blow to team morale :O” to “hm, i guess people are kind of annoyed?” and we didn’t get to witness Aoki and Oda flying off the handle, I do appreciate that the seniors are presented as a unit in handling the younger team members, especially that Oda was able to stop Aoki with a glance in the anime (as shown above).
this strong partnership also leads us to the scene where they are hanging out together on break at one of their houses and communicating with each other about the incident, even though they have different opinions about it: Oda believes in Yuni’s innocence, while Aoki is holding a grudge (based on his words and expression). (also, what a gorgeous house!)
there is no similar scene, or even a reference to something like this, in the book—this is because, as alluded earlier, the team suspension is presented as way more devastating to team morale than it was presented in the anime
in the book Aoki’s displeasure towards Yuni had a sharper edge; not only was Aoki the ‘lead interrogator’ during the team’s questioning of Yuni, but he also hauled Yuni up by his shirt collar when he thought Yuni’s refusal to explain what happened was him not taking this seriously.
Oda actually had to physically intervene in the book, and although Aoki reluctantly let Yuni go, he specifically says that Yuni had “betrayed [Oda’s] trust.” When Yuni insisted that he didn’t do anything that’d cause trouble to the team and “it’s you [seniors] who refuse to take my word for it”, Aoki basically threatens to kill him if he keeps looking down on them/refusing to take this seriously.
(Chika is also much more aggressive in the book; he tried to lunge at Yuni, but was held back by Kanno, who advised him to at least hear Yuni out, but also made it clear that they need an actual explanation out of Yuni instead of the wishy-washy stuff he’d been saying)
in the book, they make a note that Oda calming Aoki down is a rare sight that the underclassmen normally never see, which was kind of interesting in terms of how the 3rd year duo presents themselves to the team—Aoki is the cool cucumber while Oda is the excitable ‘heart’ of the team, so that line reinforces how unusual Aoki’s actions during the interrogation were. there’s also the implication that, since Aoki was so aggressive, Oda has to hold back and be the one who diffuses the situation this time.
as the argument over Yuni’s refusal to explain what exactly happened spirals out of control, Oda also reached his limit and snaps at all of them, including Aoki, to just resign if they’re just going to get in his way of playing at the Spring Tournament. this shocks everyone into silence, and Oda is so ashamed at his (”selfish”) conduct that he dismisses everyone, and it was heavily implied that he didn’t really speak to any of the team members during the month that club activities were suspended (horrified at his outburst during the last meeting).
in the epilogue (which timing-wise roughly corresponds to the after-credit scene in ep 5), it’s implied that Aoki was the one who reached out to Itoko’s friends in an attempt to figure out what went down during the incident, and Oda and Aoki have a rather touching reconciliation conversation.
essentially, Aoki walks in to the club’s supply office to see Oda taking care of the equipment. When Aoki pointed out that Oda doesn’t have to do all this as he’s the captain, Oda felt that it’s penance for “being the first one who gave up”:
“Nobody thought you’ve given up, you know.” Aoki sat down at the end of the bench, the worn wood creaking under his weight. Just as he was about to pick up one of the balls by his feet, he noticed—the “Seiin High School” written in marker on all of the balls are facing up in the same direction.
Oda isn’t the kind of person who’d deliberately make sure the equipment was laid out uniformly, so it was easy to imagine that he got in early to maintain the equipment, as well as the way he stared at the name written across each ball he cleaned with deep emotion before putting it down naturally, with the school name facing in the same direction.
“If you weren’t the captain, the team would probably be finished and unable to make a comeback. It’s because of you that everyone is willing to push through these circumstances. You should be proud of that.”
“That’s because you went around to help me make nice with the underclassmen in the background, right?”
“No, I didn’t do anything to soothe them at all. Besides, I was only doing it for your sake before.”
Honestly, Aoki wanted to smack the hell out of Kuroba [...] While the others were more or less sympathetic after the whole incident was cleared up by Kuroba Itoko, Aoki still couldn’t quite forgive him. If it wasn’t for that brat, things would never have gotten to such a state.
“On this topic... Aoki, are you sure? If you retire now, you’d have plenty of time to get ready for your entrance exams.”
“Shin, stop bringing such an ancient topic up.” Aoki rested his elbows on the back of the bench. “There’s no time for you to feel guilty. Isn’t this the practice you’ve been looking forward to for so long? You have to show them you want this more than anything. Come now, before the others show up, hold your head high.”
Dipping his head down to look at Oda, Aoki thought Ah, so we’ve become old geezers too. Every time he looked at Kuroba and Haijima, he couldn’t help but think that Oda’s skin had a healthier glow back then; is it because he had gotten skinnier... no, no, he had built up some proper muscles since then, so maybe it’s just his face that looks tired?
It had been two and a half years since then. The first time he saw this shorty was when he’d been poked in the back, Oda’s eyes glittering as he chattered away about the “super ace.” He had been unwavering in the pure, naïve belief that he’d grow and become a super ace back then.
“I’m... really blessed.” Oda said quietly with a sniffle. He wiped the corner of his eyes, and when he lifted his head he expression on his face was one of happiness, though it was mixed with faint embarrassment.
No, I think you’re pretty unfortunate. Aoki’s sure that, if he had been in Oda’s situation, he’d have given up on himself a long time ago. [...] Oda’s the type of person that, even when he’s forced to give up on his dream to become a super ace due to the unsurmountable challenge of his height, he’s still able to say he’s blessed with a straight face.
“Also, there’s one other thing I wanted to apologize for.” Oda hunched his back, clearing his throat sheepishly.
“What is it? Like I said, it’s fine.”
“I heard that you got a girlfriend, and went around on dates. I thought, ‘the team’s in a pinch and that guy had the time to play around with girls?!’ Honestly, I was really mad.”
“Pfft—” Aoki couldn’t help but laugh. When Oda looked at him in confusion, he covered his mouth with a hand and shifted his gaze away. “Don’t worry about it, there’s nothing going on.”
“You contacted the girls from the other school because you’re looking up leads for what happened with Kuroba, right? Still, even if you didn’t get a girlfriend, I think it’s only natural that you’d be popular; you’re really tall and smart after all.”
“Shin... can we just drop this?” Aoki interrupted, feeling his temples throb. He was a little angry, but... oh well, it’s fine if Oda doesn’t understand.
(2.43 S1 Epilogue part 3)
(Aoki is pining SO HARD he can be a frickin’ tree 🌲 he already has the height covered :V)
in a previous post examining the Oda/Aoki dynamic, I’ve talked about how they seem to be at cross purpose when it comes to understanding the other’s motivation—we’ve seen Oda being confused by why Aoki would devote himself to him back in Chapter 3 (it’s because he is in love with you thinks your pure drive is admirable); and now the “I’m really blessed”/‘no I think you’re unfortunate’ exchange from Aoki’s point of view shows Aoki’s blind spot. it’s not explicitly stated, but to me it’s pretty clear that Oda was talking about having the team, and more specifically about having Aoki’s support, which is what makes him blessed. Aoki, though he’s not wrong about Oda being an optimist, seems to have missed (or dismissed) what Oda was really trying to say here
all in all, both the anime and the book have shipping material for Oda/Aoki, but in slightly different ways; in the anime it’s more of a stable and straightforward dynamic (which makes it easier for the anime staff and the viewers to handle, since there’s no opportunity to devote precious run-time to an in depth exploration of their characters and dynamic), while in the book it’s a bit more complicated, where it feels like they’re on the verge of something but it’s never addressed explicitly
or, in the terms of fanfic tropes, in the anime they give off strong established couple vibes, while in the book they’re more about the pining and miscommunication
EDIT: lmao the staff sure knows their marketing huh. they really said "Dinner at the Aoki Household" huh. (I guess the implication is that Oda slept over that night? or at the very least had dinner at Aoki’s place)
honestly it's rly interesting to sketch out the dynamic i want to explore in Oda/Aoki fics, because i see them as an established couple in the anime (sir they DATIN’), while i maintain that they have not gotten together yet in the books (and won’t until after Aoki had gone off to college)
(also, just to be clear, i don't think Oda/Aoki would ever be 'canon' in the sense that it'll be officially/explicitly confirmed. i just like their dynamic and i’m having fun with it)

hi hi!! hcs for nobu, hideyoshi, yuki, and ieyasu finding out that the (female, if possible!) reader has a twin sister? if ikevamp is fine, then also arthur and isaac! you can disregard hideyoshi and ieyasu if u want! 💞
Hi hi, love! ❤😊Thank you so much for the request! And sorry for taking 2 million years to get to this lol! I hope you enjoy this dear and I hope you have a super good day!❤🌻 @x-jodi-x
Headcanon: MC with twin sister feat: Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, Yukimura, Arthur and Isaac
Nobunaga
When Nobunga found out you had a twin sister he was shook ◉_◉
In his books siblings, or well families for that matter, was not to be trusted
(;一_一)
But then you told him all about your twin sister and what a good relationship you had with her and that you missed her so much (>﹏<)
And as if the universe heard your prayer
Low and behold the wormhole picked up your sister and dropped he off at the gates of the castle 。◕‿◕。
She walked in easily and was super confused at everyone addressing her as “princess.” (^^ゞ
That’s when she spotted you walking down the hallway (≧▽≦)
She legit sprinted to your side and tackled you in a hug \(^o^)/
Cue Nobunaga walking out of the council room
Whhhhhaaaaat ⊙△⊙
How are there two of you (゚□゚*川
He keenly examined both of you and grabbed you by your hand to pull you away from your sister in a tight embrace ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
Be gone imposter (┛ಠДಠ)┛彡┻━┻
“Oi listen here you demanding little brat..” your sister legit took your hand to pull you back into her embrace (ง'̀-'́)ง
“If you want my sister, you are going to have to go through me, we were parted once, and I’m sure as hell, not ganna be parted from her again”
(/‵Д′)/~ ╧╧
Your twin and Nobunaga had an intense staring contest (¬_¬)
Finally, you broke the silence and cleared up the misunderstanding, reminding Nobunaga of the conversation you had had with him about your twin
And then you turned to your sister and introduced her to your devil king boyfriend (◠‿◠✿)
She legit looked him up and down suspiciously, “You sure this one makes you happy, cause I saw a cutie with a beauty mark under his eye as I was wandering around..” (;一_一)
At the sight of your beamingly happy face your sister reluctantly gave you her blessing ¬_¬
But that by no means met she let Nobunaga completely off the hook
The two of them would bicker all of the freaken time and 100% compete for your attention
Even though Nobunaga and your sister fought like cats and dogs, Nobunaga still felt it only right to ask he permission to marry you
One day he stomped up to your sister’s room, while you were out in the markets helping Mitsunari |*▼皿▼)
“So you want to marry my sister, and what makes you think you are good enough to marry my sweet cute sis, huh?” (≖︿≖✿)
That is when Nobunaga told your sister everything that he loved about you while wearing the most gentle of smiles (◕▿◕✿)
“Fine, you can marry her… if you beat me in a shoot of” (¬‿¬)
And your sister and Nobunaga shook hands and sought out Mitsuhide to have a shoot-off, naturally your sister won (Which low key impressed Mitsuhide big time)
̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿'̿'\̵͇̿̿\з= ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) =ε/̵͇̿̿/’̿’̿ ̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿
Your sister took one look at Nobungaga and knew he truly did love you so she smacked him on the back and said with a huge smirk, “Welcome to the family Nobungaga, just remember if you break my sister’s heart, I will break your face.” (◠‿◠✿)
Nobungaga smiled his devilish smirk, perhaps families and siblings genuinely aren’t that bad
Yukimura
Both you and your sister had travelled back in time together
You sister was shyer and more reserved, so she spent more time reading with Ieyasu, Mitsuhide and Mitsunari (✿◠‿◠)
While you would explore the markets and go on adventures with Masamune and Hideyoshi (◕▿◕✿)
You had taken a liking to a certain boyish merchant and soon the two of you were in a relationship
You had told Yukimura that you had a sister but forgot to mention that she was your identical twin
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)
After gushing about Yukimura to your sister, she was intrigued at the type of man who could make her beloved sister so happy and wanted to meet him
The two of you walked around the markets together when you caught a glimpse of Sasuke (◕‿◕✿)
The two of you stopped and chatted with the ninja
That’s when Yukimura spotted you (˶◕‿◕˶✿)
He rubbed his eyes cause he thought he was seeing doubles (*ノω-)
The closer he got, the more his confusion grew ◉_◉
He tapped you on the shoulder and both you and your sister turned around at the same time (。◕‿‿◕。)
“Witchcraft!” (ʘ言ʘ╬)
Yuki backed away, slowly, pulling your sister into his arms, “Dummy, quick let’s run, it seems like an evil enchantress has stolen your appearance.”
(∩╹□╹∩)
Just then your sister flicked Yuki on the forehead, and when he looked into your sister’s eyes, he realized that she was most definitely not you
(゚□゚*川
Meanwhile, you and Sasuke were laughing at the fact that Yuki couldn’t tell the two of you apart (≧y≦*)☜(˚▽˚)☞
That’s when you stepped forward to gently cup Yuki’s cheeks in your small hands, “Oi calm down, I’m right here, and this isn’t witchcraft, she is my sister.” (。◕‿◕。)
Yuki looked at your sister and then back at you, and then at your sister again, and let out a long sigh ◑.◑
He then smiled his boyish smile, “why didn’t you just say so, geez you almost gave me a heart attack, I thought your sister was some evil witch. I’m so relieved to hear she is actually a good witch.” (◠‿◠✿)
“Hey, I’m not a witch you.. you… idiot,” your sister pouted, and you laughed at the awkward Yuki, now blushing from embarrassment
┐(-。ー;)┌
“yeah yeah, and this dummy here isn’t a wild boar, geez your family sure is weird.” ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Cue both you and your sister smacking him, “You’re the weird one.”
After the initial shock Yuki actually really liked your sister
He low key adopted her as his little sister, even though you were the same age
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)
He legit low key still thinks she is an enchantress even after you explained that you are twins
Hideyoshi
You and Hideyoshi had been in a relationship for a while now but lately, you had seemed slightly down (ノ﹏ヽ)
You simply told him that you were missing your sister and that you were worried about her
。゚・(>﹏<)・゚。
You sister was also sent back in time, unbeknown to you, but somehow arrived in the past a year earlier than you.
She had saved Kenshin’s life and was living with Sasuke in Kasugayama Castle (ㅇㅅㅇ❀)
Just as you had found love in the Sengoku period, so had your sister falling head over heels for the bunny warlord himself (⁎˃ᆺ˂)
War was on the horizon and one morning during war council, Nobunaga had declared that his lucky charm would accompany him to the battlefield.
(▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
You usually helped the rear guard with cooking and treating the wounded soldiers
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Hideyoshi accompanied his lord in the front lines when he spotted a familiar face riding beside Kenshin (◯Δ◯∥)
Your name slipped from his lips
He rode full speed towards the woman riding beside the God of war
He yelled your name and your sister looked at him curiously, just how on earth did this random man know your name (゚□゚*川
Before she could question it, the Uesugi forces pulled back for the evening and went back to camp (◕ㅅ◕✿)
The tide of war was turning as new information of Kennyo’s involvement had been discovered
So naturally, the Oda and Uesugi forces formed a temporary alliance, and that’s when it happened
You were out with Ieyasu collecting some herbs ~(˘▾˘~)
Kenshin and your sister had just entered into the Oda camp and at the sight of your sister, Hideyoshi ran towards her and pulled her into a hug
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
“How many times have I told you not to go wandering off in the middle of the war, and just what do you think you are doing with the God of war.”
ಠ_ಠ
“Hey, I think there is some misunderstanding,” Your sister gently pushed Hideyoshi away as Kenshin was now ready to cut the mama bear down
(┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻
Hideyoshi’s eyes widened in confusion, he looked between her and Kenshin, as your sister retreated into his arms
♡。゚.(*♡´‿` 人´‿` ♡*)゚♡ °・
Hideyoshi felt his heart break in two, “Tell me this isn’t true, I thought you loved me” he chocked out (ಥ_ʖಥ)
“Dude I don’t even know you..” ┐( ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°)┌
Just then you appeared out of nowhere carrying a bunch of flowers (◕‿◕✿)
“Hey Yoshi look at all these pretty flowers I found, while Yasu and I were out collecting herbs” you placed your hand on Hideyoshi’s shoulder as you walked closer your way to the group (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Cue Yoshi being hella confused (ʘᗩʘ’)
As you got closer, you spotted your sister and instantly dropped the flowers and tackled her in a tight hug (╯°□°)╯︵( .o.)
Cue error.exe Kenshin & Hideyoshi
=( ̄□ ̄;)⇒
After a few moments, Kenshin simply smiled at you, as your sister had been talking non-stop about you (。◕‿◕。)
while Hideyoshi just stood there frozen( ̄□||||
There were two of you, how was that possible
When he finally processed the information before him, he bowed his head and apologized profusely to your sister, “OwO ahh him so sorry, i-I didn't realize-“
Your sister was super chilled and just smiled at him, “it’s all good, people used to mistake us for each other all the time!” 。◕‿◕。
Definitely lets you spend lots of time with your sister while the Oda forces are in the alliance
He will legit mama bear the shit outta your sister while the two forces are in an alliance, much to Kenshin's displeasure (¬_¬)
He instantly adopts, and sister zones your sister
Even after the war is over, he will invite her to visit the two of you, even putting his differences aside with the God of war
Anything to make you happy
Is super happy to have met a member of your family and loves it when your sister tells a bunch of embarrassing stories about you when you were little (◕▿◕✿)
Arthur
Ohhhhooohhh Arthur is definitely excited to have two pretty little skirts around to chase (◕▿◕✿)
Will flirt mercilessly with both of you, to which both of you just scoff and walk away
(;一_一) (¬_¬)
As you get to know the real Arthur a little bit better, you can’t help but fall in love with him (◠‿◠✿)
Much to your sister’s disproval ب_ب
She legit marched he way up to the playboy’s room the second you told her that the two of you were dating, to find out his intentions
(ノಠдಠ)ノ︵┻━┻
“Tell me sherlock wanna be, what exactly are your intentions with my sister.” (ノಠдಠ)ノ
Arthur was sister shook, your sister was honestly hella intimidating, “i-I assure you I have no ill intent towards my dearest little bird,” Arthur gave your sister a nervous smile (◕‸ ◕✿)
Your sister simply narrowed her eyes at him, “If you break her heart, you will wish you were never born when I’m done with you,” after a final threat your sister gave him a chilling smile and left (≖︿≖✿)
God, she was frightening (゚ω゚;)
After that Arthur tried to spend time doing 3 people activities to get to know your sister a bit better and to prove that he truly did love you
(▰˘◡˘▰)
“Come on, Arthur is not such a bad guy, yeah he’s got a past, but he also has a cute dog, and no one with a dog is super bad” 。◕‿◕。
Arthur would often invite the two of you out with him to solve cases, something which all three of you actually really enjoyed ( ಠ ͜ʖರೃ)
As time went on your sister started to accept Arthur as part of the family, plus you were right, Vic was the sweetest dog in the whole world, no way such a sweet dog would hang around a crappy owner | (• ◡•)| (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)
You and your sister would often prank the residents by pretending to be each other 。◕‿‿◕。
But it honestly never worked on Arthur as he could instantly tell which twin was which
(°ロ°)☝
One day your twin came walking into his room in an attempt to fool him
Arthur simply smiled up at her, and walked over to the coach, which you were hiding behind
“Found you Luv, did you really think I wouldn’t be able to tell the love of my life apart from her sister,” he would then shower your face with kisses
(~ ̄³ ̄)~
“Ewww affection, could you guys like not do that in front of me! That’s it, I’m outta here, common Vic lets go see if Napoleon has finished those pancakes yet,” ≧☉_☉≦
Arthur would definitely get jelly sometimes with the amount of time you spend with your sister, and can’t help but whisk you away to have you all for himself (>^_^)><(^o^<)
Isaac
The first time both you and your sister arrive at the mansion you can’t help but want to befriend the physicist ≧☉_☉≦
Although the only problem was, that both of you were shy little hedgehogs and were rather awkward when it came to human interaction
(⁎˃ᆺ˂)
That’s where your sister comes in
Out of the two of you, she had always been the more outgoing one (◕▿◕✿)
After watching you and Isaac dance around each other for the better part of a few weeks, your sister decided to team up with Napoleons
And so operation GET SHY CINNAROLLS TOGETHER was created
(☞゚ヮ゚)☞ ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
Napoleon had left some of Harry the hedgehog’s favourite food down in the wine cellar, which caused harry to naturally, stray from Isaacs room to nibble up his fav snacks V✪ω✪V
While Napoleon worked on getting Isaac into position, your sister had handed you the new shipment of wine to be placed in the cellar
You made your way to the dark cellar only to stumble upon Isaac on the floor reaching under one of the shelves ಠ╭╮ಠ
“Oh I-I-Isaac, what are you doing down here” you shyly asked as Isaac sat up and looked down at the ground sheepishly (*^_^*)
“My hedgehog, got himself stuck under the shelves and I can’t seem to quite reach him.”
(〃 ̄ω ̄〃ゞ
You gave him a timid smile and sat beside him reaching your arm beneath the shelf to retrieve the hedgehog (◕◕✿)
You handled the little critter to Isaac and the two of you started chatting about your mutual love for animals
All while unbeknown to the both of you, your sister and Napoleon watched from the doorway high fiving each other at a job well-done
ヘ( ^o^)ノ\(^_^ )
It wasn’t long before you and Isaac was in a relationship (/^-^(^ ^*)/
Honestly, this boy could easily tell you apart from your sister
Isaac was more of an observer than a talker due to his shy nature so he noticed even the smallest of details about you (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩`) ♡
Hehe, he is super awkward around your sister, but tries to get to know her a little better by spending time with both of you
The three of you actually help out together at Napo’s school
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)
Isaac is a little bit of a jealous boy and will get pouty if you are spending too much time with your sister and neglecting him (◕ω◕✿)
But never fear, one hug and kiss from you is enough to bring his cute blushy smile back to his face (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
Your sister loves ganging up with Arthur and Dazai to tease Isaac
Isaac low key sees your twin sister as an older sister figure, and will go to her for advice whenever he wants to surprise you with a fun date or thoughtful gift ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
I hope you enjoyed this, dear! and I hope you have a super good day! 🌼❤🌻

hey Nemo! gonna drop a request~ okay so can i get an hc from ikesen(suitors of your choice) where the reader/mc is kinda shocked to see the warlord's paintings look so different from their actual(in game) looks? what are the suitor's reaction- what would they say?
This is a super hilarious idea, Tani. 😂😂😂
Fandom: Ikemen Sengoku
Characters: All suitors, with the exception of Sasuke.
At first you tried to peek. Your eyes covertly glancing over to the warlord in front of you, averting your eyes just as quickly as soon as he shifted. Staring was rude, you knew that, and your reasons for staring would only serve to upset them. You couldn’t help yourself, however. And the more you glanced the more shameless you got, until you just stared at them, your eyes squinting as you started to observe him from every angle.
Nobunaga Oda
“What is it?” he commands from you, his eyes staring you down from his own position. “Do you need a painting?” he grins, giving you a suggestive look before you shook your head.
“Nope, they don’t look like you anyway,” you deadpanned, earning Nobunaga’s interest. “Yeah, unless you recently shaved,” you continued to muse, eyes squinting as you turned your head to the side.
“Do you want me to maintain a moustache?” Nobunaga tries, another suggestive glint catching into his eyes. “Is that what you like?”
To this you shook your head again, your tongue clicking in disappointment.
“No, but it would make your portraits more accurate.”
Hideyoshi Toyotomi
“Uhm, is there something on my face?” Hideyoshi calls for your attention, confusion settling on his face as he blinks at you, eyes following you moving around as you examine him from every angle, a contemplative look on your face.
“Nope, can’t see a monkey in it,” you mused, earning an offended scoff from the male as Hideyoshi straightened his back, ready to speak up as you hummed once more. “Nor a naked mole rat. Geez, the painter must have been in a bad mood, or something,” you continued, a disappointed click of your tongue sounding through the room.
“Care to tell me why I’m being insulted?” Hideyoshi sighed instead, suddenly finding himself exhausted by your behaviour.
Ieyasu Tokugawa
“What do you need,” his tone was sharper than he had intended it to be, but the way you had been staring at him, eyes widening and lips pursing as if something didn’t quite line up was getting on his nerves.
“Your portraits aren’t half as fluffy-looking,” you mused out loud, earning a glare from the blond who clicked his tongue at you.
“Do you want to get on my list?” he warned you sharply, to which you responded by curling into yourself with a pout.
Masamune Date
“Like what you see, lass?” Masamune was amused at your antics, not minding the way you circled around him.
“Much better than your portraits, that is for sure,” you bluntly told the man, not minding the way you had complimented him. This earned a mirthful laugh from the man whose eye followed you, a hand reaching out as he pulled you in closer.
“Do you want to take a closer look?” he suggested, earning a choked sound from you as you struggled not to fall right into his chest.
Mitsunari Ishida
“What are you looking at?” Mitsunari’s question sounded innocently, a gentle smile crossing his lips. Ever the patient man the warlord didn’t seem to mind your staring, even seeming to enjoy it as he joined you into the ogling.
“You have a lot more hair than your portrait suggests,” you suddenly spoke, earning a wide-eyed look from the man as he reached for the top of his head.
“What, really? I don’t think I have lost any hair recently,” he mused to himself, his expression darkening a bit. “Are you sure it was my portrait?” Mitsunari asked, still not quite understanding why he would be drawn with less hair than he actually has.
Mitsuhide Akechi
“Is the little mouse studying my countenance, or are you admiring my profile?” Mitsuhide’s voice tilted into a teasing lilt, earning a flushed expression from you, shame crawling up from your neck as you turned your eyes off him.
“You just look so different,” you mumbled to the man, a pout set on your lips that he couldn’t help but find adorable.
Quirking a brow Mitsuhide’s smile widened, a low rumble escaping his throat. “Different, how so?” he questions, “I can assure you that I’ve had this face my whole life,” he teases, light mockery sounding through his voice.
He knew, alright. After all, it was he who made sure that there was no accurate depiction of his mien recorded.
Ranmaru Mori
“Why are you staring at me?” Ranmaru’s expression grew sullen, a pout protruding from his lips as he blinked at you. He had seen that look on many faces, it was an expression to which he was no stranger, but it upset him to receive it from you.
“You don’t look like your portraits,” you stated, expression turning contemplative as you nodded to yourself. “Still beautiful, though. Just different,” you casually remarked.
“Are you sure you aren’t looking for the word: handsome?” Ranmaru tried, but you didn’t dare to tell him the truth and thus ignored the question.
Kenshin Uesugi
“What?” Kenshin questioned you, his eyes narrowed at your constantly moving figure.
Pausing for a bit you gave the man a wide-eyed look, hands rising in defense as you shook your head. “Nothing, nothing, I’m just…” you fell quiet, searching for the right words, “you’re prettier in person,” you finally settled with, earning a frown from the man.
“Pretty?” his voice was low as he stepped closer to you, a sharp smile drifting over his features as he cornered you.
“Try handsome.”
Shingen Takeda
“Admiring me?” the male quipped at your staring, a wink following after as he leaned over you. Figure towering over you Shingen felt little shame in lowering you down to the floor, enveloping you with his figure.
“Yes,” you exclaimed, before correcting yourself, “I mean, no,” you shook your head, cursing yourself for letting yourself be so easily distracted by the man.
“It is just…” you tried, looking for the right words before finally letting go of a sigh.
“I’m glad that you shave,” you decided to say instead, earning an owlish blink for a moment before his usual smirk reappeared, his face closing in on you.
Yukimura Sanada
“You’re staring,” Yukimura observed, eyes staring right back at you. “Stop that,” he ordered you, a blush spreading across his face.
To this you only giggled at his embarrassment, skipping over as you sat down in front of him, eyes intently trained upon the young man.
“I can’t help it, you’re so handsome compared to your portraits,” you jested, earning another flush from the male who hid his face from you.
“I don’t know what nonsense you’re say--- wait, what do you mean by my portraits?” the male shot, his eyes pulled into a frown as you continued to smile up at him.
Yoshimoto Imagawa
“Why are you staring?” Yoshimoto smiled down at you gently, not seeming to mind the attention you were suddenly lavishing him in.
Feeling yourself flush you quickly turned your eyes away, remembering how impossible it was to stare at the man in front of you.
“Sorry,” you squeaked, though the man bided you a signal, his smile telling you that he didn’t mind it and that there was nothing to apologise for. Relaxing you felt encouraged to continue.
“It is just that you look a lot fiercer in your portraits,” you explained, earning a look from the male, his gentle smile falling for a second before it returned, though with a vengeance in them.
“And is that a bad thing?” he mused to you, his eyes darkening as he leaned into you.
Kennyo
“Ugiy, is it not?” Kennyo told you, thinking that you were staring at his scar. Many did, he did not blame you. The scar that ran across his face, the reminder of the life he had lost and the path he had chosen.
When you shook your head the monk’s face fell, surprise crossing past his expression as you spoke;
“I didn’t expect you to have so much hair.”
To this Kennyo could only grimace. Another reminder of the life he had left behind, but could not abandon entirely.
Motonari Mouri
“Spit it out, what do you want?” Motonari aggressively addressed your staring, earning a flinch from you, an offended look thrown into his direction.
“Nothing, just checking,” you threw back at the man, averting your eyes. It didn’t take long for you to return your gaze at him, once more checking the man out.
“Checking what?” the male smirked, his chin thrown up into the air as he caught you once more.
This time you couldn’t deny it, a sigh escaping you as you shrugged.
“Your portraits are gentler. Ten ten, would not recognise you.”
Motonari would be lying if he had any understanding of what you said, though he could relate.

Wondering if I could request some reactionary Headcanons for the warlords where MC is a highly trained and skillful forensic scientist?
I’m so sorry this is waaaay overdue and writing-wise is still unsure of the style... I hope this one’s okay though~ TnT
p.s. I tried adding Kennyo & Motonari too, but brain won’t let me ><
p.s.s. Updated masterlist for my random shenanigans here!
*Every one of them thought MC would be scared of a dead body and multitudes of it on the battlefield and beyond it but...
ODA FORCES
Nobunaga
- “Huh, this fireball’s not afraid of the dead?” // “I examine them for a living.” Visibly impressed, a devilish smirk forms on his lips
- The Devil King is fascinated by you actively asking to take her to battles to study the bodies
- “Look at this! With that deep slice on his jugular vein, no wonder he’ll die pretty quickly due to all that blood loss.” // “On his what?” // “T-the blood vessel found on the neck, my lord.” // *is confused*
- Nobunaga considers this carefully and commissions the armour makers to improve their designs, and/or trade for more sturdy materials with the Portuguese (you know… aside trading for konpeito :3)
- Lets you examine more specimens to determine all possible deaths in battle, and then have it discussed at the next council. It’s a great help for them in terms of preparation & strategizing. After all, prevention and preparation is still much better!
Hideyoshi
- A worried mother hen as always, all he wanted is for you to stay away from the worst sights possible and definitely not going straight towards them! “What do I keep telling you?” // “Uh, stay away from the corpses…?”
- Just like how his lord would sneak away to have konpeito, you also tend to get around stealthily just to study “them”
- Being a highly observation person due to your work, you even know which wooden floor in Azuchi will make a creaking sound and by instinct you will avoid it
- But Mamayoshi is just as observant as you are, and he caught you one night
- “I know you were once this ‘forensic expert’ from where you came from, but you are a princess now and must behave like one!” Legend has it that the lecture continues...
Mitsuhide
- Ah, he loves asking for your suggestions on how to get away with murder treason!
- I mean, he’s surely an expert but an additional piece of advice his little mouse wouldn’t hurt, right?
- “This place’s almost clean, I’d say.” // “’Almost’, little mouse? It scares me so that you have trained eyes for such matters. // “Is that a compliment? Anyway, I saw a strand of hair near the sliding door... and its color is much similar to yours. Care to explain?”
- Now he’s more careful than ever to leave any trace, knowing you can find him even with the smallest of clues
- The tables have turned for him after such a long time of being a sneaky fox
Masamune
- Oh boy, make sure you won’t overwork yourself by being with this man, being a battle-loving man that he is (meaning, more bodies and scenes to check out)
- At the same time, he finds it amusing that you proactively ask him to take you to his trips, campaigns and whatnots
- “It really is fun having you around, lass! Or should I say ‘partner’?” // “Damn straight, partner… now, let’s solve this case!” Cat-like grin commences for you two
- He sees you having fun hanging out at the scouts’ camp, chatting about experiences in the battlefield. your eyes would glimmer the more explicit they describe it. Creepy? Maybe a little, but at least he sees you happy about it… right?
- The One-Eyed Dragon will find this unusual, sure, but it certainly makes him want to know you more
Ieyasu
- Did he care at first? No, not really. He just wanted no involvement at first and to be left on his room alone, reading or eating extra-spicy food
- However, Yatsun gets curious when he finds you taking a peek at his medicinal work on a man he is a bit late to save :(
- “What are you doing here? You better not get in the way.” // “Oh no, poor man though… what’s the cause?” // “I am yet to find that out, if you’ll excuse me,---” // “Can I take a look?”
- He tries to pry you away from the room but being already in and touching the body leaves him no choice but to keep a close eye on you, making sure you’re not doing anything daft.
- “Huh, not bad.” Ieyasu says as you were able to identify the cause of death, deep inside he’s amazed of course. Later on he would let you join him in his post-mortem activities if the schedule allows to, but still keeping an eye on you to prevent any mishaps from happening
Mitsunari
- “Wow, MC-sama is unfazed as we all are in the battlefield! You truly are an amazing woman.” Did you see that sunny smile on his face as he says it???
- Your logical explanation as to identifying one’s death baffles the force’s cinnamon roll (because of the jargon used), otherwise it fascinates him
- Well, he’s never seen a woman who’s into dead bodies work-wise!
- Like some other warlords, he would ask you for advice when making strategies for the next battle
- When you went to his room one time to borrow a book, the first thing you said was “Am I in a crime scene?” when seeing piles of books around, untouched food and seeing a man unmoved in the middle of the room, reading and not even sensing your presence. “Ah no, just a normal room. I see.”
Ranmaru
- While in an errand, he sees you one day looking at a dead body about to be taken away. He is worried that the view might traumatize you for life… in the back of his mind he already has a plan to take you to a sweets shop and let you gorge in manjuu for the rest of the day
- “MC-sama, are you alright? You look shocked.” // “Yeah, I mean it looks to me that someone killed him when everybody says the opposite! I wanted to look into this so badly…” // “My apologies, but… what?”
- Of course it is never the answer he expected, but when you plead to help him solve it, this page is more than willing to do so
- Now both of you are going around the town looking for clues and asking who you think are involved; partners-in-crime!
- You did get to gorge on manjuu (and tea, lots of it) with Ranmaru when the case is solved!
UESUGI-TAKEDA FORCES
Kenshin
- Oh boy, make sure you won’t overwork yourself by being with this man, being a battle-loving man that he is pt.2
- “How dare you try to even speak with MC; draw your swords. Now.” // “Kenshin-sama, even if I’m used to seeing the deceased, please don’t do that. You’re scaring your own men!”
- He has little to no problem in taking her along to the battlefield, too! One more way to keep her in sight at all times
- Sometimes when you two are drinking and think he had too much you just had to stop him, to his slight annoyance. You have seen many deaths due to alcohol poisoning and definitely wouldn’t want him to be in the list… Bunshin Lord Kenshin appreciates the thought though
- Like Nobunaga, he allows you to do some research on the dead bodies, anything useful for the ongoing war
Shingen
- How can an angel such as you be associated with death and decay? He thinks
- But this daddy needs to accept the fact that you are quite comfortable around such! However once your investigation takes a scary turn expect him to nearby, comforting you with soothing words, or a hug… or eating sweet buns as many as you’d like to calm yourself down
- At first he is reluctant to let you get near the deceased, however whenever he sees your expression light up whenever he makes a cheesy comment (albeit in a rather awkward place) he thought of going along with it
- “Hm, this job of yours is unfitting in every way.” // “Oh yeah? How so?” // “You are brimming with life that I do think you are a goddess who descended upon us men.” // “Ah, here we go again…”
- You have to admit, his presence help you keep your sanity as you used to work alone for long periods of time
Yukimura
- “I thought you might be running away now once you see these.” // “As if they’ll chase me! Unless… are they still alive?” // “Weird woman…”
- This tsun does admire how brave you are after even making such joke
- Along with Sasuke, you three are pretty much effective when doing some investigation at the enemy’s base with you giving them (modern) tips of not getting caught. Unusual hiding spots? Hidden weapons? Suspicious people? All checked and cleared!
- He has been doing that for a long while now, but hearing your strange ideas do sound plausible… especially when ninja friend is highly approving it
- If Sasuke trusts you, he surely starts to trust you (and your skills) too
Sasuke
- Once again, be paired up with Yuki and you three would make a great investigation/espionage team
- When investigating, you and memelord ninja are speaking to each other in partly jargon, partly heavily-memed language
- Possibly having watched and/or read crimes shows or movie you two are getting along so well
- “So here’s our undercover story: husband, wife and husband’s best friend---” // “Wait, do we get cool names too?!” // “Yeah, I’ll get to that part later… or I’ll do it now. Miyako, Tsune and Chozaburo; sounds cool?” // “Noice.”
- As the conversation continues, Yuki is left by himself to wonder how on earth did he get friends like you, shaking his head lightly as your talk no longer makes sense to him
Yoshimoto
- This beautiful mailman sees you one day sketching and as a man of the arts he comes over to look at what you’re drawing
- What he sees is a detailed sketch of a man, possibly a random person. The facial structure, features are all spot on! He is in full admiration mode
- “My, such a lovely piece you are making there. Has someone commissioned you to make him a portrait?” // “Actually Yoshimoto-san, I am making this to be posted around town. A wanted poster of some sorts… he’s a criminal.”
- You explained to him your job as a forensic artist, and he listens to every single word of it. Yoshimoto would find himself asking about your style of sketching as you continue drawing
- When the posters are up he is one of those people who would look at it for a long time; for him it’s not for memorizing the perp’s face, but simply to appreciate the art, fanning himself ever so gracefully

2.43 S1 Chapter 2.1 - Dracula and Princess Briar Rose
1. BENCHWARMER
Can we get an f in the chat for Ibara, who is looking like she’s not going to show up in the anime
Also the “Princess Briar Rose” part of the title is a pun on Ibara’s name, which means “briars” and the Japanese name for Briar Rose is Ibara-hime

Two meters and twenty-four centimeters and,
Two meters and forty-three centimeters.
What are those numbers, you ask? Those were the heights of the nets at the high school volleyball nationals. The first one was for girls, and the second one was for boys.
The difference between them was nineteen centimeters. In other words, boys played at a place nineteen centimeters higher than girls—that’s what it seemed like, but I don’t think it was so simple. There was a difference of twenty centimeters between boys and girls just from comparing the average heights of vertical jumps for a typical high schooler. If you add the difference in average height and arm length to that, then it should be a difference of forty or, if one was unlucky, fifty centimeters.
Boys competed even higher in the air above the net, which was nineteen centimeters taller than the girls’. When I watched intensity of the boys’ midair fight, it made me think how cramped and constricted we in girls’ volleyball were, just running around close to the floor. Of course, in Japan, girls’ volleyball was traditionally more popular, and there were many people who found the fun of volleyball in the combination plays and successive rallies that were distinctive to girls, so I would like to add this was purely my personal opinion. …But still, let me tell you, those rallies only lasted because of the “react-able” power and speed of the girls’ spikes. We weren’t able to react to boys’ spikes.
I was enchanted by the way the boys played. I was genuinely longing to play like them.
“Sorry, sorry, you’re from girls’ volleyball, right? We’re supposed to have a meeting today. Err…”
A remarkably tall boy spotted me and rushed over. Although, the width of each step was so big that it looked like he was calmly walking over here. He was like a giraffe…I thought, immediately overlapping the image of that tall and thin herbivore peacefully strutting in the African savannahs over him.
“I’m Suemori from 2-A. Hello.”
After curtly giving my name, my eyes returned to the court. The boy who had been standing out since earlier was just about to spike. He jumped so high that his hips were above the 2.43-meter net and slammed in a glorious spike along with a yell of “Rah!”
“Oops,” The aforementioned lanky giraffe-like boy stretched out his long arm and stopped the ball that came flying with a big bounce. While rolling it back with his foot, he called out in an exasperated-sounding voice, “You’ll hit a girl, you idiot. Be careful!” The way he spoke, like it lingered on the tongue, and his low-pitched voice really did remind me of a giraffe (although I’ve of course never heard a giraffe speak or even make a sound). I, who was 173 centimeters tall, was among the tallest in my class, including the boys, so I wasn’t treated like a girl often, but it seemed that I fit into the standard for a girl in the eyes of Giraffe Boy. On one hand, I felt embarrassed, but on the other hand, it made me feel uncomfortable.
“Soooorry.”
The boy who hit the ball just now went to the back of the spiking practice line again while throwing back an apology that didn’t sound particularly sorry.
“Um…so, let me introduce myself again, Suemori-san. I’m Aoki from 3-C.”
“I know who you are. You’re the vice president.”
Ah, nice to meet you, Giraffe Aoki-senpai said, the corners of his mouth turning up into a smile like he was eating leaves.
“Is that first-year Kuroba Yuni?”
“Eh? Oh, you know him?”
“I don’t really know him, but he’s my kouhai from middle school, so I recognize his face at least.”
Watching that first-year who was bouncing in place impatiently for his turn even though it wasn’t a long line, I was shocked, wondering if that was really the case as I confirmed it for myself. The reason for the questioning form was because he was very different from the impression I had of him in middle school. Speaking of Kuroba Yuni, wasn’t he the flunky of Kuroba Yorimichi—who was one of the “Big Four Guidance Regulars” handed down through the history of Monshiro Middle School—and a uselessly big liberal arts-type of boy?
“Boys can get pretty good all of a sudden.”
A line I heard someone said suddenly came to mind. Who said it…oh, it was Ayano. My chest ached a little as I recalled.
I heard that last year, the boys’ volleyball team at my old middle school achieved the good result of fourth place at the summer prefectural tournament. When I was there, the year before last, the boys’ team was far from a weak team…it couldn’t be called “existing”, but apparently there was a transfer student who somehow brought a miracle to the club.
“Is that kid the only one from Monshiro Middle joining this year?”
“Monshiro Middle? …Hah, I think it’s Kuroba and Nagato over there?”
I’ve seen that first-year called Nagato before, so he wasn’t that transfer student.
“I heard that there’s a great setter among our kouhai, but he didn’t come here, huh…” I murmured, but just I finished my sentence, Giraffe Aoki-senpai suddenly started coughing violently.
“…Are you alright?”
“Yeah, um, it’s just a cloud of sand.”
“Boys’ volleyball is pretty soft, I see.”
“You sure are harsh, Suemori-san.”
With another light cough, Aoki-senpai shrugged, looking embarrassed.
“It’s just how I am.”
I answered curtly on the surface, but on the inside, I was fed up with myself, thinking, Ah, I did it again. I knew full well that comments like these could hurt people.
Fortunately, Aoki-senpai didn’t seem particularly offended.
“Well, I can’t deny that, so it’s fine. Now, let’s have a discussion. Oh, I’m the vice captain. The captain is that Oda guy over there…Oi, Shin. We’re talking about the ballgame tournament!”
Nanafu Seiin Prefectural High School, located in Nanafu City, Fukui Prefecture. It took twenty-five minutes by train to go from the town of Monshiro, where my and Kuroba’s houses were located, to Nanafu Station. Including the travel time from my house to Monshiro Station, as well as the travel time from Nanafu Station to school, it took about an hour to get to school, but it was a school where there were a few people here and there from Monshiro Middle.
The ballgame tournament “Seiin Ballgame Festival,” which would take place in late June, could be called the main event of the first semester at our school. There would be six events: mixed boys’ and girls’ softball, mixed boys’ and girls’ futsal, girls’ basketball, boys’ volleyball, and girls’ volleyball. Under the supervision of the executive committee, each sports team would assist in the operation of the event. Incidentally, for many clubs, this overlapped with the time of the year when the prefectural qualifiers for summer national tournaments, so they shouldn’t have time to devote to school events by all rights, but our school didn’t have any teams that could go to nationals, so there was no problem. Rather, it was a time for a breather after being eliminated from the qualifiers.
Therefore, in the volleyball division, the boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams had to send staff members from each of their teams to run the event, but since the boys’ team was actually traditionally few in members, it was an annual custom for the girls’ team, which in contrast traditionally had a large number of members, to send out helpers.
And so unfortunately this year, the one sent in to the boys’ team in that coordinator role was me, girls’ volleyball second-year, Suemori Ibara. I said unfortunately because…being designated as a coordinator was synonymous being branded as a leftover as a player. In the girls’ team, it was a empty job where those who were judged useless were sent away.
“…So, if we follow how we did it last year, a teacher will be the chief referee, but from the club members, we need one person to be the assistant referee, one to be the scorer, two ball retrievers, and four linesmen. If it’s okay to leave out moppers, then then we need eight people for a single match. The girls will provide the two ball retrievers and two linesmen. We can’t spare anymore than that because we have to manage the girls’ side too. From the boys, please send out four people for the assistant referee, scorer, and two linesmen for each match. I think it will be difficult to divide up roles so that it won’t overlap with the people who will be in the match. Do you have any questions so far? You’re both third-years, so I think you probably knew all this, but…”
I, who had dropped my eyes to the memo I took over from my senpai in the girls’ club as I explained to that point, raised my head and saw the unreliable and worried looks on the two third-year boys, which strengthened my concern. I don’t know how to put this, but was there nothing that could be done about this vague herbivorous feeling that was common to all creatures called boys’ volleyball team members?
The aforementioned third-year who was so long and thin that he reminded one of a giraffe was the vice captain, Aoki Misao-senpai. In contrast, the captain, Oda Shinichiro-senpai was—it was rude to say this—a “pint-sized” boy. He was probably about ten centimeters shorter than me. Even if you discount the fact that I was tall for a girl, I was still way below the average height for boys. Is he a libero…? However, according to the rules, the team captain couldn’t be the libero in games, so there must have been some sort of inconvenience if the team captain was the libero.
If Aoki-senpai was a giraffe, then Oda-senpai was…what was he, a dog…yes, a dog. A Shiba inu. Crap, now I could only see him as a Shiba inu. I even saw a hallucination of him wagging his tail. Why was I talking so seriously while face to face with a giraffe and a dog? I was dying to tell someone about it…I wish I could talk to Ayano…
“Also, I’m working until the day before, not the day of, but team practice starts next week and I have to help with that as well. I’ll be inside on the day of the event for boys’ volleyball, but there will be days where I’m outside practicing…”
Since you could only take two courts in the gym, and there were four courts when you counted the outside court, boys’ and girls’ volleyball and the basketball teams competed for them. The fact that being inside was treated as “winning” and outside was “losing” was the same as marking out space for normal club activities. The ground on the outside court was dry, and if you tried to do a sliding receive, you would end up choking on a cloud of dust and your jersey and ball would turn chalk white, and depending on the weather, it’d be boiling or freezing, so we were being prejudiced against at any rate. And the tragedy of being wet and muddy after the rain didn’t need to be said.
As a result of a lottery, the venue for this year was determined to be outside for girls’ volleyball and boys’ basketball who drew “blanks”, and inside for boys’ volleyball and girls’ basketball who drew “success.”
“…You had good luck this year.”
When I muttered that in between conversations, Oda-senpai and Aoki-senpai both stiffened slightly and exchanged glances. “What is it?” I knitted my brows at this exchange that was like accomplices making eye contact with each other.
Oda-senpai sighed with a glum look on his face, and then gave a sidelong glare to Aoki-senpai.
“About that…actually, because of this guy’s cheating…”
“Hey, it’ll be awkward if you tell that to someone from girl’s volleyball. You were the one who said you wanted to be inside this year no matter what.”
“I never said a word about cheating. If the girls’ team doesn’t accept it, they might have to redo the lottery, which I don’t mind.”
While feeling a headache from the hallucination of a Shiba inu hounding a groaning giraffe and the giraffe laughing like an idiot and bending his long neck back, something occurred to me. Aoki-senpai was the vice president of the student council. The ballgame tournament was organized by the student council, and it was customary for the vice president to serve as the executive committee chairman. It would be possible for him to set up a cheating scheme for the lottery.
“I don’t see how it’s a problem. I won’t tell on you.”
I tried my best to sound indifferent.
“…It’s for Kanno’s sake, isn’t it?”
The two senpais blinked and exchanged glances once again. And then, Oda-senpai looked awkward, as expected, and Aoki-senpai didn’t look the least bit ashamed, but they both smiled bashfully.
“Yes.”
They said in unison and nodded.

One Piece Chapter 982 - Initial Thoughts
Well, Oda knows we got the entire raid planned out and he just went ‘haha nope’ Thank god though that there was no delay again, we’re getting some consecutive chapters every week for the time being
Spoilers for Chapter 982, Support the Official Release
Back with Bege for the cover stories, seems Marines are here again, but no news on the Tontotta and Pound...Oda stop making us wait
Oh my~ did not expect Black Maria to be getting that close to Kaido, and he seems fine with it, something going on there?
Orochi relishing that motherfucker family reunion, but Kaido musing that there’s no answers for Laugh Tale are interesting, I’m guessing that’s why he wanted the Scabbards alive in the first place, maybe they’re of no use to him.
God though, Momo you tried but...god...someone’s gotta decimate Kanjuro for that
I don’t really get Kaido’s disappointment, I mean from Kanjuro’s intel reports it’d be clear that Momonosuke has just been living a few months fresh from their last encounter, kinda expecting too much from the boy
Looks like the cover’s only partly blown, since the ships aren’t detected that means the Samurai are still hidden
Even with his mask ol’super forehead gives Killer a manic smile XD
Orochi’s feeling the fear now though, that is what we like to see
What we don’t like to see though is Orochi planning on crucifying a child for entertainment. Hiyori will probably be needed to even the score
I can’t get a read on Black Maria’s thoughts on this though, she noted the cruelty but doesn’t look horrified, and at some point she must’ve picked him up for Orochi to snatch him from her...I dunno
Law knows quite a bit about Onigashima’s currents doesn’t he, we also make a point of telling the reader that Neko’s lot will only be able to go through the front gate, maybe to explain further delay
“They’re calling it Onigashima now” ??? ...What was it called before then?
Why are we hiding Izo? First the face now just a cloak, I feel like Oda’s hiding something from us that’ll be shocking about Izo, maybe a fair amount of war wounds
Ahhhh the note, Marco was always gonna be loyal
Sasaki gets quickly dealt with, odd choice but Who’s Who will be thankful, the two seemed to be on friendly terms though which was strange. I doubt chains will hold a Tobi Roppo forever.
N E C K, like that is a full trapezium there Denjiro
Well...Big Mom remembers...and a tank is not gonna help Chopper or Usopp too much against a Yonko
And the girls have Prometheus to deal with. But this one can be interesting, they think Zeus was abducted but what if Zeus fights Prometheus? I mean their Greek counterparts didn’t get along and Carrot’s Electro can pack some more punch, whether Big Mom listens to his call though is another matter
Ulti is hilarious, tsundere and precious all at the same time...I guess we should treasure this since she’ll have to fight the Straw Hats and probably has a creepy DF
Speaking of which...I have so much mixed emotions of Luffy and Ulti in the same panel, like, Luffy has to go forward but don’t fight each other, be nice and go on your way. Page One isn’t gonna stand much of a chance alone but Ulti is a question mark
It’s also interesting that she immediately went ‘what do you want?’ not ‘who are you?’, remember that the only Tobi Roppo that know of Luffy are Drake, Maria and Who’s Who. This is gonna get a-complicated.
A great chapter with fun and progress, though not in the direction we expected it is still great. As much as we’re selling that Kaido is surrounded I still don’t buy the danger just yet, it still feels like we’re on the back foot with the alliance. Momonosuke needs a saviour for sure and the Weakling Trio plus Carrot and Shinobu need something to spare them from Big Mom (since Kiku is on Law’s sub she can’t help, doubt Tsuru or Tama are on the battlefield). We still haven’t gotten back to Robin and Jimbei or Franky and Brook too But next chapter may focus on the Ulti/Luffy encounter; Luffy needs a W to amend the Apoo incident but I don’t think Ulti or Page One are the person to be Blueno’d But glady there’s no week break again, we’re picking up some steam.

DESPERADO - OMORFIA
SYPNOSIS: she, a dancer with personified problems all the while more that intrigues osamu dazai who came into her life amidst the chaos that is [name] [last name].
WARNING/S: none
eight - nine
dazai felt his phone vibrate in the back of his pockets, swiftly picking up his cell without even bothering to look at the caller id.
"dazai, are you gonna turn up here or what? am i gonna have to file an absent report - again?"
dazai groans with a free arm flailing beside him, almost hard enough to knock off his glass of wine on the kitchen counter.
"i'm just not feeling it today, odasaku. i think i might've made [name] angry."
"oh, really? what a shocker." the apparent semi-oblivious tone that oda replied with didn't help one bit.
"care to tell me what happened?"
"well," dazai pauses, taking a sip of wine. "she dropped by here yesterday - which reminds me that i forgot to ask her how she even got my address," he mutters mostly to himself.
"anyway! off topic, but she brought her kid and left him with me, asking me to take care of him for the night. they ended up sleeping over and after breakfast we kinda kissed."
"and?"
"and what?"
"there must be something you aren't telling me. the info you've given me seems to be missing a few important details."
the brunette mentally curses at his partner's close attention to specific details. even through the phone, he can probably sense his bullshit.
"well, i may or may not have hinted at her that i .. wanted to be something more. to help her ease her burdens, you know?"
oda was silent during his explanation, only humming in acknowledgement once he assessed the situation.
"are you in love with her?"
dazai purses his lips at the question. his feelings regarding this was all over the place.
"that's the thing. i don't know if it's love - i don't understand it."
"it would help if you'd describe how you really felt."
oda hears dazai take a deep breath over their call. he must feel a little overwhelmed about it all. he's known dazai for many years, understanding that he can't handle intense emotions very well. love, was definitely one of those.
"i feel this- this weird ache in my chest when she does one good thing, but it's followed by something else entirely. it's like she wants it to but at the same time, she's holding herself back," he stammers.
"i'm trying to work out what she said before she left. she was just so vague."
"you don't think she's giving you mixed signals?"
dazai had gone silent, possibly thinking it over on his side. what if he got it all wrong? what if he was just assuming things just because her actions differ from her words?
"dazai, if you recall back then, it's to never fall for-"
"strippers or anyone involved in bad business, i know," dazai completes it for him.
"didn't you fell for jin? george, - or whatever his name was - at some point?"
"gide," oda sighs. "that was back then - now don't change the subject to me. this is about you coming to terms with your emotions."
dazai downs the last drop of his wine, proceeding to lay on his couch to vent about his weird feelings to oda. it's a wonder that his friend even put up with his constant complaints at all.
"you know, if you're nagging about something like this that much, why don't you ask her out?"
"ask her out where?"
"on a date, genius." he deadpans. dazai lips shape into a small 'o', mind going off on a questionable daze before quickly coming back to reality.
"do you think that's a good idea?"
"i don't see why not," oda shrugs even though dazai couldn't see him.
"odasaku,"
"what is it?"
"i haven't been on a real date in a long time."
this was going to be much more difficult than he thought.
--
somehow, oda managed to convince dazai to pull through the idea of going on a date. with [name].
which explains why he's back at the club, but instead of hoping to piss her off with a request to dance, he had brought along with some flowers as a peace offering. he even got his semi-formal attire neatly pressed for this.
upon coming to the club and heading immediately backstage, he was - unfortunately - greeted with the sight of chuuya. the ginger doesn't even hold back on a snicker when he does a once over at the taller male.
"pfft - what in the fuck are you doing?"
"could you have [name] off work today?"
"why?"
"i'm taking her out," he holds up the flowers in his hands.
as soon as chuuya opened his mouth, the two just ended up having small banter and disagreements, with the former obviously disapproving of the brunette in question. it was interrupted once a certain [h.c]-haired woman passed the door in between the males.
"uh, excuse me? you two are blocking the way-" she does a double take once her gaze lands on dazai, grumbling under her breath as she tries to ignore him, focusing her stare on chuuya.
chuuya clicks his tongue, moving aside to make way. dazai takes this opportunity to ask [name] out.
"please go out with me." chuuya snorts, deciding to leave the two on their own. he'd probably tease the female later on about it.
"what the fuck?" she gazes up at him with disbelief.
dazai clears his throat, feeling a bit of tension and awkwardness in the situation. "odasaku suggested that i do something .. different. that i should try being romantic.. ?" it came off more of a question rather than an answer.
"please tell me you're joking," despite the hint of mockery in her tone, her eyes said otherwise.
"did you inhale something?"
"i'm serious. i'm trying to ask you out so," he gives her the flowers with the corner of his lips curling up.
"go out with me?"
the female was quite shocked. this was new. she didn't really expect this from dazai.
"you're smiling." she says absentmindedly.
"is that a bad thing?"
"no, no. in fact it's .. a good change," she returns with a small grin of her own, staring at the arrangement of tulips and daises she had in her hands. how sweet.
"look, i'm trying," dazai mumbles. "i want to give whatever we have a shot. it's been a long time since i've done this, so just spare me the time and tell me if you want to do this or not."
he hears a small snicker before the female in front of him bursts in a small fit of giggles. "okay, okay. i'll go on a date with you."
"really?" dazai asks, eyes wandering her own for any ill intentions. there was none. he felt flabbergasted.
"just let me have the courtesy of getting changed first," she gives a gentle smile.
"would you want me to go out wearing something like this?"
"n-no! go get changed, please-" dazai stammers out, face flushed. this was weird. he felt odd. oddly giddy and a bit of excitement. was this normal?
"alright. wait for me then."
he couldn't wait for what was about to come.
--
"you seem so inexperienced. it's stupidly cute in some way," [name] comments as they walk down a street, minutes away from their destination.
"i told you, it's been a long time since i've been on a real date."
"define a 'long time'."
"like, twelve years, give or take-" he was cut of by the abrupt laughter that emitted from his date. he playfully rolls his eyes at the sight.
"oh yeah, sure okay. that's funny for you," he mutters. despite his jarring tone, his arm didn't fail to lose contact with the female.
"i-it's just too funny! you haven't been on a date since you were like, sixteen. oh my god," she loses herself again in a fit of giggles. even with the annoyed look on his face, he finds her laughter endearing to his ears. he's used to her seemingly hostile personality that seeing her be so playful was a bit weird. he doesn't mind it though.
"that's just precious."
"oh, look. it seems we've gotten to the restaurant i was telling you about." he ignored her shouts of protest as he hurriedly speed walks to the place. he greets the staff at the entrance, mentioned his reservation before they were lead to an empty booth and situates himself there with [name].
she sets her bag down on a chair beside her, sitting down on a chair the opposite of dazai. "now, is that a way to treat your date?"
"you were being puerile," he answers, leaning onto both hands propped against the table.
"don't use stupid fancy words on me." the female grumbles as they waited for a waiter. dazai sticks out his tongue as they went on about casual conversation.
"ever tried thai food?"
"not really."
"how come?"
"my household used to stick to a sole strict way of handling things. anything remotely foreign was forbidden for us." she explains.
"they hated trying new things for some reason."
"well, i'm here to treat you to your heart's content," he grins. [name] returns a small one of her own, gazing upon the interior design of the restaurant. she hadn't took it all in since she was dragged quite briskly inside. it was pretty fancy. expensive looking, too. the wages that their staff must earn may be more than what she has on the daily. lucky.
minutes later, a waiter had come by to take their orders.
"and what would your drinks be?"
"i'll have a sake," dazai answers.
"what about you, ma'am?"
"i'll have a [f.d] instead." the waiter nods, taking the menus before leaving. [name] plays with the ends of her hair before locking eyes with dazai.
"how's your business running along?"
"things are coming along smoothly. we've gotten rid of those who tried to auction off some of our products for fakes. profits are coming in at a steady pace. i managed to go on a date with you, so nothing seems wrong."
"are you happy though?"
"why wouldn't i be? i have attained so much in little time." the female rolls her eyes at this.
"yeah, but achieving a lot of things don't always mean you're actually happy with what you have right now."
dazai ponders over her words. "i don't get what you mean."
"like, you need to find something that makes you genuinely happy. something you find comfort in or calmness. something that makes you smile and make you think that 'i wouldn't exchange this for anything else.'"
"i still don't get it."
"you're that bad with emotions?" dazai nods hesitantly, feeling that this was somehow a bad thing.
"isn't that unhealthy?"
"how so?"
"well, i was taught to feel all of my emotions. to really connect with them, so that i don't seem unhinged."
dazai doesn't give a reply, soon after the waiter returned with their drinks in hand. the two gives their thanks.
"you need to be in tune with your feelings more, you know." [name] takes a sip from her cold beverage.
"i think i feel strongly for you," he pauses. "i can't describe it."
"that's.. understandable, i guess. you still need some work." [name] sighs.
"it's not that i can't - more like i don't know how?"
the [h.c]-haired female thinks his words over before stating her own opinion. dazai continued before she could get the words out.
"it's just strange. which is kinda why i had asked odasaku first before you .. and now you're here. i want to control these emotions." he just seemed so confused. she smiles at this.
"that's cute."
"huh?" dazai was so lost.
"you just really seem like you're trying really hard. it's flattering. shows that you're putting effort on me. i appreciate that."
oh.
oh. was all dazai could think.
his felt his heartbeat twice during dinner.

Online Relationships
I know it took me a long time to finish this fic, but I hope you’ll still give it a try. I originally planned it to be longer. I had to delete several scenes since it does not match, maybe I’ll use it in my future fics.
Please enjoy the final chapter and let me know your thoughts.
“Personalities and relationships tend to differ offline. “
(Part 1) I (Part 2) I (Part 3)
Title: Online Relationships- Part 4
Pairing:Trafalgar Law X Nami
Genre: Romance / AU
Rating: T
Word Count: 1734
Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece, they rightfully belong to Oda Eiichiro.
Helen of Troy launched a thousand ships because of her beauty. It was not her fault that she became the cause of a ten-year war. It was the Fates who were weaving her destiny. Nami liked the epics The Iliad and The Odyssey, which tells the story of Helen. She read the books all over again every time she finds time to do so. She loved how the story tells that we are rational beings and it is our actions that makes our fate. Helen chose to love and that love became the downfall of a lot of people. Nami, on the other hand chose, to leave a comment on Law's post. She never thought it would end up like this.
16 love reactions. 5 likes. 25 comment replies.
Luffy D. Monkey: Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Franky, Ussop, Chopper, Brook, Vivi and Shiraoishi. Look! Nami, we demand an explanation! Since when did you and Torao became too close?
'Ugh, why did Luffy have to be the first one to see this? He even tagged all our closest friends.' Nami thought in despair.
Sanji Vinsmoke: Is the shitty doctor your boyfriend, Nami-swan? T^T
Zoro Roronoa: Witch, I told you to behave. Law, better take care of her.
Nico Robin: My, my, I never knew that he stole your heart, Nami.
Chopper: So it was Law that Nami likes?
It was not only her friends that reacted and commented. Even Law's friends did.
Shachi: Captain! She commented. Hurray!
Penguin: Yay! Our captain is on his spring time.
Bepo: Sorry for not noticing it earlier. I'm rooting for the two of you. May your relationship be strong. Aye!
X-Drake: Hmm..
There are a lot of people who reacted which she did not know personally, but were mutual friends with Law in Facegram. At this point in time, she regretted what she did. It would be a big deal for his and her friends. She even read a comment conversation between Penguin and Luffy saying they should team up to match the two of them. What is done is done, so she decided just to meet up with her friends in Baratie's Food Joint. Luffy said that Robin and Franky will be joining them since they have no work for today.
Her friends have already placed their own orders when she came to their table. She ordered her favorite tangerine smoothie and the lunch special from the counter. Luckily for Nami, Law and his friends were seated far from their table. She is too ashamed to look at them, but her curiosity urged her to take a glimpse on his table. Even with the crowd their eyes always find each other. His lip draw into a smirk, then he waved at her. She smiled and waved back while her cheeks is slightly blushing. It felt like it was just the two of them in the food joint full of people. But they are not. Both their group of friends is observing the two of them.
Luffy, Chopper and Ussop was laughing out loud when they saw Nami coming back to their table.
"Why are you laughing?" Nami questioned. The trio continued to laugh till Ussop decided to answer her.
"Law sudden used his bag to hide his face after you smiled at him. He was so red."
"Eh? I don't believe you. We both know you're a liar." Nami taunts her friend.
“Shishi.Torao! Look over here. Nami wants to see your face" Luffy shouted. Nami hurriedly punched Luffy to silence him.
She subtly glanced and saw Law's friends looking at her while pointing at Law, who is burying his face on the bag. His friends was laughing and teasing him. He is obviously pretending to be sleeping, she knew he wasn't someone who can sleep in any place. She found this scene cute and she happily ate her lunch with her friends.

Marine duties in the town vary depending on which branch you are assigned. Being a Rear Admiral, Drake doesn’t have much to do than waiting for a new mission for him. He often uses his time off visiting museums to see dinosaur artifacts or collaborate with universities for dinosaur researches as a hobby. Today was he was supposed to meet Corazon, Law’s foster father, to fetch a package for his father. However, the old man called that he will be sending over his son because he has urgent matters to deal with his brother.
He knew the whole time him and Law would be together would be spent with them pissing off one another. That nerd really makes him tick. Just thinking that they would be meeting up in a few minutes made him exhausted.
While strolling in the park, he saw a familiar red head who was leisurely walking.
“This would be interesting.” He thought. He heard that Law tend to be quiet when she’s around.
“Nami!” He called out.
“Oh! Hey Drake. It’s been a long time since I last saw you. What’s up?”
“Nothing new really. I’m supposed to meet up with Law in Buggy’s Steak House for lunch. Join us.” He invited.
“It is your treat? You know I like free things.” The younger girl beamed.
“Of course, and you’ll get a bonus of seeing Law.” He teased.
“I see him almost every day in the campus or at Baratie. He should be the one getting a bonus of seeing a cute girl like me on weekends.”
“You should say that to him.” He chuckled.
They arrived shortly at the Steak House. Law was already grumpily waiting for Drake.
“You said you’d be here thirty minutes ago.” Law scoffed.
“My bad. I brought company.” Drake pointed at Nami.
“Nami-ya?” Law was shocked at the unexpected appearance of the girl.
Drake wanted to laugh out loud at the shocked state of Law. The rumors were indeed true. Maybe this lunch would be interesting.
“Hey Law!” Nami greeted.
Nami sat next to Drake while they are sitting in front of Law. Law ordered for Nami because Drake won't stop teasing him to pay for her.
"I never knew you were this close." Law stated as he looked at the two red heads conversing like its just the two of them.
"We knew each other for quite a long time and you know the thing about Robin." Nami explained. Drake and Robin used to date, however, things didn't proceed romantically as both have their priorities.
"Hn." Law quietly finished his meal.
The two red heads continued on talking. While he stayed quiet observing the two.
It didn't take too long for Drake to excuse himself. “I better go. We have emergency at the base. Walk her home or I’ll tell Cora-san that he did not raised you to be a gentleman. Surely, he will be disappointed.”
As a matter of fact, there was no emergency. He was just annoyed by Law’s state. He thought he would enjoy him squirm at the girl’s beauty, but it became boring since its not like his usual shitty attitude. Might as well give the two a little push. Maybe Nami could forgive some of his debts.
───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───
"You don't really have to walk me home, Law. I'm going to the university to check on the progress of our team's prototype." Nami said.
"Nah. I'll walk you there. Could it be you're afraid of me?"
Nami was shocked by the question. She was quite shy that he is walking her to the university but not afraid.
"Nope. Why would I be afraid of you? I doubt a nerd could outrun me." She taunt.
"I don't think so. I may be a studious type of person but I have been athletic since I was middle school. I beat up Shachi and Penguin when I first met them."
"Being violent is not the same as athletic. Why would you even beat up your friends."
"It was their fault since they were bullying Bepo. We were all young back then." He argued.
She noticed he is awkwardly keeping distance between the two of them as they walk.
"You know, sometimes I don't get what you are thinking. Online we are so close, but offline we're so awkward." She said bluntly. If she wanted to move forward they would have to break their barriers.
"Its just that I don't know. When I'm with you I feel like a different person, Nami-ya. Every plan I make to get close to you, seems won't work. I guess plans do not apply to you and your friends."
"Do you really like me? Or are you just pressured from the people around us?" She was embarrassed to ask, but decided to ask anyway.
"Why would I be pressured? When I met you before it was just you, not my friends nor your friends. At first I thought I was just an infatuation, but it grew on me. Nami-ya, I like you."
She leaned to gift a light kiss on his cheeks. "Let's take it slow until you are used to being around me. We should hang-out like today more."
He stared a her rosy cheeks and glorious smile. What happened today will surely change them.
"Oh! I think we should give them our response, Mr. Heart stealer."
───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───
Their friend's phone rang with a notification; it was a tagged comment from Law. He posted a photo of Nami drinking coffee from a cafe. From the photo, they could see Law's favorite hat on the table.
'I don't know about being a Heart stealer, but this girl clearly stole my heart.' This was the caption of the photo.
Before their friends could comment on the post, another notification rang. Again, they were tagged in the comment section, but this time it was by Nami. The photo she posted was from the same cafe. A booked covered the lower area of this face, while his golden eyes looked straight to the camera. Nami leaned her cheek on the top of his head, while giving a bright smile and peace sign.
'Oops! Exams are still ahead. Gotta keep this nerd Heart stealer focused on studying.'
Nami captioned it this way to show that even if they will be moving forward, their dreams would be their top priority.
It wasn't long until her and his phone began ringing. They friends wouldn’t stop until they heard the whole story.
