I have a lot of thoughts on Harry possibly having the PDA profile of autism.

Follows his voices and only does things *he* chooses, struggles with everyday demands (hygiene is likely a big one if martinaise is anything to go by), hugely socially focused (loses morale + health + has shutdowns when people respond negatively to him/his actions), intense emotions, obsessions with people (Dora, Kim, probs Jean, etc), seeks comfort in fantasy and role play (copotypes, if you wanna get a lil meta his psyche is literally rigged like an RPG)… I could go on and on

Like oh man what if he told everyone from the 41st to fuck off and went on the apocalyptic bender in martinaise bc he had a meltdown from the mountain of stress and demands and emotional labour that keep breaking him down over and over again

How I feel about this character:

from a gameplay perspective, i'm not all that enamored with her tbh? she seems useful as a battery but really none of my characters have a recharge problem so it doesn't feel particularly necessary or important for me

from a design perspective, YES she's so pretty? i love a good purple aesthetic and i ADORE her braid. as a character...i think she had a lot of potential and !!!! i do think she's interesting in her own right, she has such an intriguing backstory and i would love to hear more about her actual thoughts on it, etc. i really feel like the story quest did her dirty tho, it felt a little bit like ayaka's where we just sort of walked around, everyone was like OMG IT'S HER, we had a little scuffle, and then that was it. which i think was reasonable for ayaka's story quest! but it felt a little shallow for baal's, imo

all in all, i think she's got some great potential as a character, but i felt a little let down by the way she was portrayed and which aspects of her story were emphasized in the story quest

i really love the archon buddies i think it's such a fun chaotic dynamic. unfortunately, we really didn't get to see baal interacting with many other characters in-game, but i think i'd love to see her interact with like rosaria or smth. i think it'd be funny to have a character who like does Not give a shit about her status as a god. i think it could also be interesting to see her interact with kaeya specifically if she in some way can recognize him as khaenri'ahn...could be interesting lmao

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

gods i WISH we got a deep-dive into her backstory during her story quest? i also wouldn't have been opposed to her having to deal with some consequences of allowing the vision hunt decree to continue? like...even just having to face what happened to the people whose visions were taken? i also wouldn't have hated to see more baal/sara interactions

gotta be baal and yae tbh. the sara ship is great but i think it falls (for me) in the same line as a zhongli/xiao ship, which isn't really my jam so much bc of the sort of...perceived power imbalance on the part of one of them (or both, probably, in baal's case)

a headcanon fact:

y'know it's truly a shame that we got canon proof that disproves this but i really liked the hc that baal saw razor and fischl as lonely kids who needed a friend who'd always be there for them, and that's how they got their visions (and oz/razor's wolf along with them)

i’ve seen ppl say ouma is an extrovert and i was curious abt your opinion on that? looking at your hcs and such on him, i think you have an accurate opinion on what his character is like so i thought i’d ask! personally, i see him as more of an ambivert i don’t think he necessarily is energised by being around others in the kg situation he was forced to be with others for his plan to work i feel like with how guarded he is he doesn’t exactly enjoy being around others therefore isn’t an extrovert

hi anon!! i’m so sorry for the late reply but WOW! it srsly means a lot that you think i have some understanding of ouma’s character from what you’ve seen from my posts that you’re curious to know my opinion on him! TvT this is just my personal take from my experience playing V3 but i also understand how ppl might interpret the game and characters differently so it’s totally valid if you or other ppl don’t agree with me c: i’ll leave my answer under the cut just in case of spoilers!

i personally see him more of an ambivert as well! i think he can be incredibly adaptable to most circumstances and approaching ppl but deep down does have his own fears and anxiety towards others and stressful situations even if does a good job at hiding it! i also agree that ouma has proven to be guarded towards his classmates in the kg situation but i think it’s mostly a result of his paranoia and not so much that he is exhausted being around them. ouma’s really complex, i think he does get frustrated having to rely on others for his plan to work bc if he could i think he would tackle the burden all by himself (although he isn’t shy to use ppl if he really has to as long as it’s with his own morality) and that in itself can be exhausting to him but i also think deep down he truly does care for his classmates and does seek to be loved by everyone but really struggles with reaching out and allowing himself to be vulnerable w others. outside of the implications/interpretations of his motives and actions, there’s quite a few instances of dialogue in-game and bonus content (”everything i do is for you guys”, “i’m always doing stuff for everyone’s sake”, salmon team mode’s true ending and one of his dating events when you go to the courtyard as well as his ultimate development plan interaction with kiibo and gonta are what come to mind rn but there’s def more) that ouma seems to really want the well-being for his classmates even if tries to deny it/play up the theatrics that ppl are leaning more towards him just telling another lie. ouma is pretty good at distancing himself from everyone and is prob used to being on his own but i think he does have a desire to get along with everyone too ;v;

not part of the convo but I know what that anon's talking about and it's reaaally annoying when people are like 'well the boys would love you whether you're [insert minority] bcuz they learned to love yui, so don't you ever feel like you won't be loved!' And then some people tried to include disabilities and oh god, it went from wanting to feel validated to being fetishistic. I even saw someone draw a fanart of subaru with psoriasis all because someone had that and it made them feel selfconcious

and then ofc, certain ppl started hc the boys with mental disorders all because of like, idk, their PERSONALITY and CHILDHOOD. Like this one blog loved the idea of ayato having npd and tried to glorify it like it was a positive thing, subaru got social anxiety because he's so tsun~, reiji got OCD, kanato got autism, or wait...was that another diaboy? Anyways, they're basically fetishizing the very things they want representation for and at that point I also had to throw in the towel like anon. 

Yui is, like I said, a pretty ordinary person who’s probably a lot easier to like than someone dealing with severe mental issues. Probably. That said, WHO EVEN CARES? We’re talking about fictitious characters, in the end it doesn’t matter if they would love you or not because they don’t exist. Please go and talk to some real people, guys.I guess I can understand that thing about projecting your own insecurities on your favorite character. Kind of. Not gonna lie, I’m guilty of that myself. When a character does something that reminds me of my own symptoms I’m like “Oh, what a coincidence, maybe they also have an issue with this”. I just don’t take it very seriously, like I'll think it and leave it at that. And I don’t find it hard to believe that the characters in DL would have some mental issues. After what they’ve been through it would make perfect sense. But I’m not a psychologist and ain’t gonna start diagnosing random characters (for what purpose, anyway?). If someone told me that Ayato may have NPD I’d be like sure, whatever, could be. Unless confirmed by Rejet it’s nothing but a theory, though. (And what’s with glorifying mental disorders, anyway? Like holy shit, this stuff isn’t funny. Nobody is proud of their disorders and would be a lot happier without them.)As for living out your headcanons via art or writing like that Subaru fan with their psoriasis... I dunno, man. I believe everyone can draw what they want and if they wanna draw Subaru with patchy skin I say go for it. That’s not to say I’m completely above being judgemental, or that I like it even. I see that stuff and I’ll think to myself “Man, that’s fucking weird, dude”. I just won’t say it to them. When I was more engaged in fandoms I saw that kinda stuff a lot, people projecting their own issues completely on their favorite characters. “I am trans and disabled and have depression so [character] is also trans and disabled and struggles with depression!” And I was like

You know, like that’s good for you and have fun with that but I don’t care for it. Same with weird or “problematic” pairings, I really don’t give a shit and will just focus on what I actually enjoy. As long as people don’t shove it in my face and claim that their headcanons are the real deal I’ll let them do their thing. I only get annoyed when people confront me about their headcanons and shit. Like “Hey, that’s a nice drawing but I headcanon [character] as trans so I would like it better if you drew them in a binder.” Cool. Who died and made you fan art police, again? Cause I don’t remember asking for your opinion and I’ll sure as hell not change my drawing to suit your preferences unless you pay me money.

Long story short, I ignore like 90% of the fandom content on tumblr and only pay attention to official releases and the few creators whose work I like. I don’t really have the energy to check out a lot of the stuff that aims to be more politically correct (and quite honestly, I can’t imagine it’s done very well/believably). It’s quite interesting to hear about it, though. Feel free to tell me more crazy stories about the fandom XD

@tinkiisms asked so guESS WHAT I’m gonna ramble about the Hook and George Darling being portrayed by the same fellow usually which I have not rambled about before I just needed an excuse. And it got long so I’ll use a readmore.

It is a tradition that Hook and Mr Darling be played by the same actor because he was when the play was first preformed. There are m any theories that have spawned off this, some of which depend on one's view point as to whether or not Neverland is actually real or dreamed. If dreamed, some speculate that the character of Hook takes on traits from George because similiar temper and, well it’s the main man the children are familiar with so?? why not imagine your dad as a slightly different looking pirate especially after you just had a disagreement with him. I do not necessarily agree with this because I consider Neverland to be a real place and also follow the more strongly agreed upon fact that James Hook actually represented the author JM Barrie, both in certain characteristics and when he played with the children that inspired the story of Peter Pan (the movie Finding Neverland is v good I cried but anyway it shows him actually pretending to be Hook for a game at one point). Another theory I have seen was that Hook’s death in book was symbolic of Mr Darling’s redemption in real life, but this also seems based on the more dream-Neverland concept. THat’s just my opinion I am not saying they are bAD theories they just do not work for me personally. Also, I’ve talked to a Wendy in the past (they are no longer active) and we mused over the fact that part of the reason she may have been surprised by Hook in the book (beyond manners) could have been because he reminded her of her father. Makes sense to me tbh (a lot more than her just ‘oh wow you’re handsome’ bc she is still a chiLD and I would be much more surprised to if I saw a pirate guy who looked somewhat like my dad with long hair and in rly nice old-fashioned clothes at her age than a much older attractive man, but that’s an apparently rather unpopular opinion of mine).

OTHER THAN THAT I cannot think of any other theories off the top of my head, probably because they did not make sense to me at the time so I didn’t remember them. I do have my own views/observations from studying Disney version of the story if you’d like to hear those, if not you can just ignore the rest of this post. And I don’t feel like I need to point out that Disney version has it’s share of differences from the original book/play to you, but I’ll just remind about that fact for anyone else reading before I continue.

Okay so obviously Disney is animated there are no live people seen in the movie, BUT this was during the days that people still modeled for the characters and scenes etc (Tink had a cute model but I forgot her name gah) for the animators. Hans Conried, however, not only provided voices to both men but also posed and etc. Hook’s design actually changed to resemble and in some cases even act more like him, such as Conried’s rather dramatic gestures and expressions. He also had great manners and elegance and hIEGHT irl so that helped support those aspects of Hook as well (my Hook’s hc height is actually the same as Hans Conried’s). Unfortunately I don’t know if he modeled for George Darling too, I’ve only seen photos of him dressed like Hook for scenes from the film. But judging by George and Hook’s temperaments and dramatic poses/gestures, I’d imagine he probably did; if he didn’t, they certainly appear to have at least let him inspire Mr Darling too. And their voices even sarcasm are definitely a lot alike, Hook just has a tad of sea slang thrown in while George does not. In other words, despite being animated, Walt Disney still very much incorporated the tradition of them being portrayed by the same person. I personally take this a step further in my portrayal by including one or two of the traits seen from George into Hook, such as his sympathy toward Nana when she is tied and the fact that he is not as concerned by little things when he’s drowsy or very tired. My Hook may also have father-ish traits surface from time to time in interactions with a few certain ppls muses that somehow manage to befriend him cOUGHES. This is a more indirect relation, but when Disney gave Hook a love interest in JatNP, she has red hair and curls. We don’t see Mrs. Darling’s hair down in the original film, but considering Wendy’s curls, it’s probably safe to assume hers is as well. MY POINT IS that much like George and Hook not looking exactly alike yet they can still remind someone of the other because of their personalities and gestures, Red Jessica does not look identical to Mary Darling b ut has the same calmer nature and ability to quieten her angry man far more quickly than anyone else by tone or simply a touch, j ust like Mary gets her husband to chill. They have another similarity or two but I have no idea if this was even intentional on Disney’s part, it is an interesting coincidence if wasn’t planned though. I didn’t intend to get into a reason I support a Disney Jr ship so much b ut since I was comparing the two men it seemed appropriate to point out the ladies they fall hard for are also quite similiar which reflects back again on their personalities. George is just more peaceful and law abiding business man who I’m p sure has never killed anyone, Hook is not.

There are probably some other things I could have talked about lurking in the back of my mind but I am currently very sleepy so this’ll have to do for now my apologizes for ramblish tendencies it’s a bad habit

OH WAIT NO there was one other notion I came up with one time in a joking manner but after I thought about it it is actually somewhat possible: Due to how similiar Hook and George are I cannot help wondering if they’re not actually distantly related. I have 0 evidence for this but the idea of Wendy and siblings actually being a great great+more greats niece and Hook learning this would freakin astonish him and that would be an interesting idea to play with imo bUT again that’s just my thoughts I have no backing beyond how much they can be compared/same hair color and height. Now I’m done even tho this probably has a lot of typos I should review but I’m not going to. Good night everyone I seriously need sleep
