i posted these mishanks figure skater/hockey player au doodles and @giurochedadomani and i got to talking about mihawk wearing shanks's jersey during an olympic skate and then i typed this up lol i am extremely sleep-deprived rn but im not gonna clean it up unless i write the rest of it so. we'll see. ;P uhh and i'll tag @ellii0tt too since your post started this whole thing haha. ✨️

shanks loves to look at mihawk, and while the ice dancer's face when he skated was what first drew shanks to him, it wouldnt be inaccurate to say mihawk's oft-displayed chest might have also been a large contributing factor.

it's what he's expecting to see when mihawk skates out for this gala exhibition routine: the centre of mihawk's chest surrounded by glittering sparkles or ruffled lace or gauzy stretched tight fabric, the cross he loves prominently centred where shanks used to like to bury his face at night. he was expecting the opportunity to ogle--the invitation, really, as all mihawk's solo outfits usually were invitations to look and be captured by the way his body moves on the ice.

when mihawk steps up to the rink's gate to remove his skate guards--before shanks lets himself ogle--he takes a customary look at mihawk's expression, only distantly noting for now that mihawk is clad in a more vibrant red than the figure skater generally enjoys sporting. it'a just that shanks always likes to gauge mihawk's mood right before he goes out for a routine, so he can guess at his frame of mind for after his performance. today, mihawk seems more nervous than usual, like there's a lot riding on the line. it's strange because he looks more anxious before this exhibition skate--something just for fun that the figure skaters do for the audience, totally optional--than he does when he's about to do a routine that could net him an olympic medal.

shanks doesn't really take in exactly how familiar the red is until his eyes finally trail down to do some ogling and he finds himself confronted with his own hockey team's jolly roger logo. his mouth drops open as he registers that mihawk is wearing shanks's jersey--and it is shanks's, mihawk hasn't shown his back yet but the 39 on the sleeve is prominent enough--and he's wearing it on the olympic exhibition skate night on international television, and about to do a routine in it.

shanks would ask what it means, but he already knows. there's gasping and chattering as mihawk finally skates out and does a turn to reveal the large AKAGAMI 39 on the back of the jersey. shanks covers his mouth with his hand, already feeling his eyes start to burn with tears.

goddamn mihawk and his stupid goddamn--everything! shanks was fooling himself for ever thinking he could get over him.

mihawk makes a few more circles around the rink, gratuitous for him since he usually likes to just start right away. it's like he's showing off the jersey, making sure all the cameras get a good view of the back. all that extra time to look does actually make shanks realize it's a jersey from way before, so old it doesn't have his captain's C on it, because it was from before his captaincy. shanks huffs out a laugh as he suddenly remembers a laundry day early in their relationship where he accussd mihawk of stealing his jersey and mihawk told him point-blank that it was just lost. this asshole liar. shanks still loves him so much.

mihawk finally makes his way to the centre of the rink and poses in a starting position, raising his arms and drawing attention to the way the sleeves are folded back once to reveal his lithe wrists.

When did you start writing?

Like wayyyyyyyyy back, I technically wrote my first story when i was 11. I didn't write again until i was 15 (original pieces + fanfics), then i stopped and Im back at it again at 26 ayoooo

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

if i really need to search further into my favorite books, i would definitely say psychological horror and dramas

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

I don't know writers enough to really get an idea of how to compare myself to any of them, but I do know that i tend to emulate what i'm exposed to, so if I read an entire series from an author, and they used a certain syntax, i'll tend to also do it by force of habit. (i also consider it a flaw cause i see it as hindering my writing creativity ;-;)

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

its my personal pc that doubles as my work space, so its a bit all over the place ngl haha, theres a lot of astarion stickers and posters, all the furniture (keyboard, mouse, desk, etc) is pastel purple (my favorite colour), i have three screens (mostly for work but its also useful in day to day life) and my three wallpapers are astarion, of course. sometimes when i feel a writers block, i found out that writing on my laptop does unblock me! in that case, youll find me typing away on my couch in my living room uwu

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

MUSIC. What I write will be highly dependent on what I listen at the moment, like I was really into boywithuke when i wrote my angsty fics, and then i moved to a dark romance playlist and that got me going for die for you but then i was unable to continue my other fic cause i wasnt in an angsty mood anymore ._. (i swear i didnt abandon it, it just isnt the playlists turn to play on repeat) and rn im a lot into sleep token and ari abdul

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

So. Much. Smut. And angst. not surprising! my writing will also often depict my current state of mind. dw im in therapy, im working on it

What is your reason for writing?

It's my favorite creative output/the one im most experienced in! i wanna start drawing but i never find the time to really get into it and also terrified of failure which brings me to my second reason, its all i think i can do and i get dopanine reading nice comments teehee

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

when people tell me about a favourite part, when they liked the tension i managed to create, how i convey some characters, and most of all when i get told they loved a character i created!! this is so encouraging and pushes me to continue <3

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

i dont know how to answer to that .-. uh, i guess i want to be liked? seen as a good writer if anything? idk man ;-;

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Definitely descriptions, and creating a build up in a scene. I feel like it comes naturally to me and people have often told me that they are never lost when reading my scenes which reassures me so much LMAO I feel validated I also think I make really fun dialogue, especially banter with my ocs/tavs

How do you feel about your own writing?

i often self criticise my own work a lot, and i get that imposter syndrome where ill reread my work before posting and go "what the hell" in those moments, im grateful im not writing on paper cause that sheet would find its way to the trash real quick ^^ ' im sincerely truly blessed that my partner offers himself to read my pieces and beta read them, and tell me his honest opinion (there are things i wrote i wish i could forget and yall better be thankful he was there to stop me from posting first versions)

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?

mix of both definitely. initially i wrote my own ideas and if people do end up liking them hell yeah!!! glad im able to find people that vibe the same way i do! then again, when i write for people, even if most of it comes from my silly little imagination, it was initially influenced by the request itself and is going to guide the writing specific to this piece, which honestly makes sense imo

Perfuma is a make up artist in Equestria. She grew up in Ponyville and Crystal Empire, since she have family there! Right now she lives in Canterlot, but still visit very often Ponyville (since her mom and girlfriend still live there)

Her mom have flower shop in Ponyville, and her dad lives in Seaward Shoals with his new partner (a stallion he meet there), where they send Perfumas mom a lot of flowers to her shop! Perfuma in kind of stubborn and total blush mess when it comes to her love interest, and she's always embarrassed by that. She's the grumpy one in private with her s/o too. But she's lovely, trust me!❤

Athena is a half pony (from fathers side) and half changeling (from mothers side):

Since she's not a true changeling she couldn't change in "new form" like her mom and other changelings in colony. That's why she stays in her pony form for almost full time. She can sew very well! Her father is a tailor and teach her about everything. On her ponygram she won contest for Rarity's apprentice and I think I'll make that canon in her story (im sure for like like 90% rn). She's very shy. And open up only to ponies(or other creatures in Equestria) she knows for a long time. She's a fast leaner and can fight very well. Right now she lives with her dog Bella, boyfriend and girlfriend.

Okay hear me out: almost all of my characters have names that mean something important. I was looking for her name like for 3 hours! Eerin: small gray owl.

That's it. Eerin is just an owl mentally. She stays up all night and work. But let's start from the beginning:

Eerin is a writer for famous Equestria News paper! She also writes books, makes music and loves architecture. Only thing about art she doesn't like to do (and can't do really well) is drawing. She was frustrated at first that she can't draw very well but after some time she realized that she doesn't even like it. You can see this white spot on her head? She had some problems with this when she was small but grew to love her marks. She’s an identical copy of her grandfather from father’s side.

She lives in big ass house in the middle of Everfree Forest, so no one ever disturb her while working. Eerin have only two moods:

1. I hate going outside, all I need is my books and piano.

And 2. I love those flowers, can I buy them all? Oh, i love Equestria!

That's all, but mostly she doesn't like to leave her house. She's friends with Perfuma, this two meet by her mother since Eerin almost every day can buy roses, tulips and sunflowers (she thinks they look great on her fireplace and warm up her room a little in vase from her friend Sunny).

Eerin interests and how she act in public is a reference to Hannibal Lecter, because I love him with my whole heart 🤲❤

Eerin is hopeless romantic, but can't show her feelings properly, which is why she's not in relationship (edit: eerin found a girlfriend, a mare with familial interests like hers). She would write you a poem, but shes too shy with her feelings to just write "I love you" in it. She would hide behind many metaphors and not everypony would understand it.

Eerin have only a few friends at this moment. Perfuma, of course, and

Sunny Breeze

Sunny is this orange pegasus! Shes energetic and is excited about everything around her, which is not so different form Eerin but the difference is with showing this excitement. Eerin would smile a little and complement things, when Sunny would just jump around telling about how awesome this is (shes just a bit more calm pinkie pie). Oh, and she wants to be wonderbolt so she's very athletic!

For Perfuma her beauty was always something important, but in this au IT'S EVEN MORE IMPORTANT.

Here's the story about what happened to her here: Princesses made a mistake and because of incompetence of royal guard Perfuma was hurt. They attacked wrong pony. She lost half of her beauty and couldn't live with it. Not caring about apologies she got, she decided to make revenge plan on Princesses with:

Athena

After changelings attack, Princesses decided to destroy them once and for all, not caring to think about innocent changelings who was forced to ride on Equestria by their Queen. That's how Athena's mom accidentally died. Right after mother, her father fell sick (but we say that he was heartbroken to make it more poetic). Athena was sad but also angry at princesses for "killing" her parents. Using her ability to change forms, she was collecting informations from other ponies for their plan.

Eerin

I told you before that Eerin was hopeless romantic? She can fall for this one pony and write for them all days and all nights. But here: she would be obsessed, and afraid of rejection which is why she would make

a) love potion, for this one and only

b) broken heart potion, to make lovebirds life sad and miserable if the first one won't work oops

She wouldn't have any serious problems with princesses, she would rarely leave her dungeon where she makes all sorts of potions and spells. I can see her as this one pony that Perfuma and Athena would ask for help with one potion and she would just stay with them "because revenge on royals sounds fun".

I'll be fine tho guys normally i pull an all nighter friday night or am up super late, am up all day saturday til like 1-3am then i go to sleep and sleep for like 12-15 hours on sunday, and have a normal sleep schedule (i count it as normal because i still get enough sleep) monday-thursday. I guess im a normal person because like,,,im so like,,,chill during the week then i have like a crazy fuckin weekend that leaves me sleeping all day sunday. Either this is normal fr or normal on tumblr. Idk.

I wanna watch a candle flame buuut im not gonna get up bc i think my granddad is awake and he'll hear me walking around and come tell me to sleep. Though, i do tell him if its past 6am that i woke up at 6, had to use the bathroom, and couldnt go back to sleep after, but its only 5:43. Time to watch candleflame gifs lol
