1. When are you usually online?  My working schedule has been so awfully overwhelming that the only free time I have is on the weekends, but sometimes I’m so exhausted I cannot even write anything, although I’m often lurking here on Saturday and Sundays nights.

2. What verses are you involved in outside of this page? I have a blog for Sakura Haruno, so every once in a while you can catch me there, but it usually depends on whether my friends there are online or not. As for my verses here, I most use my “alive” verse, and I have recently been able to use my Yu Yu Hakusho verse thanks to some amazing new friends! I also have a special verse in which Kikyo and Kagome are sisters with my beloved Rarity, and a Sesskik verse that I absolutely love.

3. What is your biggest RP pet peeve? I’m a pretty laid back person, so it’s hard to anger me (or so I believe). But I suppose I could say my biggest pet peeves are when people try to pressure me into writing/doing something or when people start drama over small things. I have seen so many people arguing over stuff that’s just... so stupid! Dunno, I’m just too tired to deal with people right now.

4. Are you drawn to specific types of muses? Hmmm, maybe I am? I think it has changed over time, but I LOVE an angsty/misunderstood character. Powerful, complex women that are often mistreated by their writers bring out my fire to write. I need to like and find the character interesting to write it. Oh! And I don’t write male characters, dunno, I just don’t feel comfortable, I’ve had blogs for male characters before but they were always short-lived.

5. Are there recurring themes in your writing that people might not notice? I don’t know, maybe? I LOVE shipping threads, like, omg I’m a hopeless romantic and all the romantic love I don’t have in real life I seek in my writing. But I also love an adventure and I LOVE angst so... I’m not sure which theme could be considered “common” in my writing.

6. What are your favorite RP trends? Hmmm... I think the return of big icons, some time ago it was SUPER cool to have tini tiny icons that were overly saturated and were just a blur of colors that was impossible to decipher. I never understood this trend tbh, to me icons provide a visual reference to your character’s expression, the scene or to focus on a particular aspect of your character’s face/body language, so those impossible-to-understand icons were absurd! Anyway, but enough complaining about old trends! I think the new aesthetic trends are pretty great!

7. What is your process for starting a new story with someone? Good question, I usually just IM them or we start writing and go with the flow. I like this organic kind of writing, where ideas pop up and you move along with them. Planning is great, and having a general idea of where the thread will go is amazing, but discovering HOW it will get there is so... rewarding! 

8. How do you feel about duplicates? I’m incredibly insecure, so I avoid duplicates not to compare myself and end up abandoning the blog for thinking I’m not good enough :|

9. How long have you been involved in roleplaying? Oh my, here is where you discover I’m a dinosaur on Tumblr. I’ve been writing on tumblr for around 10 years, and I’ve never written outside of this website, I think I wouldn’t be able to roleplay outside of tumblr at this point.

10. Is there a muse or verse you wish you could write in, but haven’t? Oh, quite a few! But alas, I have no time to write the muses and verses I do have, imagine writing new ones! But one day I want to make a couple more blogs for one or two muses I’d like to give a try!

Okay, I was scrolling through your Tumblr and the mention of a Titanic inukag au!?!? I need to see that! (But it has to be a happy ending, I could not bear it one of them died) 😭😭😭 What other AU's would you be interested in seeing??

Good news about the Titanic AU: @swaggingtomboy has recommended this little gem. I haven't read it yet so I don't know if there's a happy ending, but come on! It's a Titanic AU!

Now, when it comes to Inuyasha, there are a lot of alternate universes I take interest in. Some of them I've been actually meaning to write one day, so I'll be keeping those out of this list. But here are the ones I would love to read, in no particular order:

1. SINBAD: THE LEGEND OF THE SEVEN SEAS

Sinbad and Marina are basically pirate!Inukag, let’s face it. I like pirate stories because I love the sea. Also the atmosphere of forbidden love, since Marina is engaged to Sinbad’s chldhood best friend, makes everything extra spicy. Their constant bickering and teasing, the way they’re always challengins each other and working together like a well oiled machine, how their journey start off with the wrong foot but they find balance in the end... those are just a few of the things that make me love them (and Inukag) the way I do. 

2. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Darcy and Inuyasha have so much in common. The nonexistent social skills. The lack of trust in people. The tendency to isolate themselves. The way they go to extreme lengths to protect those they care about without never taking credit for it. Constantly putting their foot on their mouths. The arrogance. The stubbornness. The absolute refusal to admit their feelings. And then Elizabeth and Kagome are smart, feisty and have the inherent ability to put men in their places. Just as wqually stubborn as their love interests. And let’s not forget they’re always being overlooked: Lizzie being outshined by Jane and Kagome by Kikyo. Inuyasha and Darcy are so similar and at the same time so different from Kagome and Elizabeth, that their chemistry it’s just off the charts. I love modern AU’s as much as the next person, but sometimes you gotta go vintage.

3. SHREK

Hear me out! You can’t look me in the eye and tell me Inuyasha wouldn’t have isolated himself in a swamp as well. Also, Kagome as a cursed princess such as Fiona would have been an absolute kickass. We don’t have enough of it. Shrek is a beautiful story with a wonderful message and the hardships the main couple finds along their journey really reminds me of Inukag. The prejudice they faced, the slowly built trust and even our main girls giving up something they loved in the end to be with their love interests, who just want them to be happy and would never think of themselves as worthy of such a sacrifice (even though they are). Plus, you know me. I love the fairytale vibes.

4. FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS

I know, I know. The title is self explanatory and it’s not like we have a lack of this trope in fanfictions, but let me sell it to you, okay? This movie is literally one of the best rom coms ever made. I’m talking about shy, never-left-the-monotony-of-his-hometown Inuyasha, who runs a pretty successful advertising website and headhunter Kagome, who manages to convince him into accepting a job at GQ.

Only he has to move out to New York to do it. And since she’s his first friend there, they grow pretty close. Bonding over their latest failed relationships and how long it has been since they had sex, they decide to become friends with benefits. Because this always works. Bonus points for their backgrounds. The parents issues really flesh out the characters and make everything way more emotional and exciting.

5. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

What can I say? This movie is perfect! Kagome and Tiana are resilient, kind, persistent, stubborn and hard working as all hell. I also like the relationship Tiana had with her deceased father and I feel like exploring Kagome’s own relationship with her deceased father in the same way would have scratched an ever present itch I have on the matter. I love to read fanfics where this is addressed.

Also, there’s this amazing parallel between Inuyasha and Naveen, since they start their journey with a clear goal in mind. Inuyasha, to become a full demon by using the the Sacred Jewel and Naveen to marry a rich woman so he wouldn’t be broken anymore and wouldn’t have to work for the rest of his life. But after they met Kagome and Tiana, their dreams change, because they end up realizing it’s not what they truly wanted (it never was) and that they can so better than that. So they do.

6. HITCH

Not actually Inukag. I feel like Miroku and Sango fit this AU better. You know how the story goes: he is a "date doctor" who coaches other men in the art of wooing women into long term relationships. He gets hired by Albert (Inuyasha), a shy, socially akward guy who needs help acting on the crush he has on a client of his investment firm, celebrity Allegra Cole (Kagome).

In the meantime, Hitch (Miroku) meets and falls in love himself with Sara Melas (Sango), a workaholic journalist who is always chasing after the hottest gossip. As Miroku succeds in helping Inuyasha date Kagome, this becomes the talk of the town and the more Sango snoops around to find out how that happened, the more she gets closer to find out what Miroku’s job truly is.

7. JANE THE VIRGIN

Now, this is more about the premise than the characterization. Imagine Kagome has decided to save herself for marriage and due to a series of crazy ass events, she ends up accidently inseminated with Inuyasha’s sperm when she goes to her gynecologist for a simple check-up.

The kicker (if you even need one at this point)? She has met Inuyasha before. He had showed up one night when she was about to end her shift. They it it off, flirted for hours and shared the best kiss ever, but he never called her after that. Now she discovers that not only is he the father of her miraculous baby, but also the owner of the hotel she works in as a waitress and that the sample that was  accidently inseminated on her was his last chance to be a father.

In the original, the female main character, Jane, is engaged while the male love interest is in an unhappy marriage, but even though I did enjoy the love triangle(s), I also don’t see it as a mandatory thing. I feel like it works either way.

8. TARZAN

Everybody knows the story, don’t they? Talk about worlds colliding. Talk about Jane (Kasgome) showing Tarzan (Inuyasha) what love is. Being all of his firsts. Teaching him so much. Chasing his loneliness away. And talk about him protecting her with his life, showing her things she had only dreamed to see in person: beautiful places, wonderful creatures... Talk about her falling for him and his world so much that she chooses to stay by his side. Plus riding vines together like Kagome rode on Inuyasha’s back? Chef’s kiss.

9. LISBELA E O PRISIONEIRO (LISBELA  AND THE PRISONER)

I even wrote a little something about this a while ago. Leléu (Inuyasha) is a womanizer con man. For each city, a different name and a different way to get easy money. In one of those cities, he meets Inaura (Kikyo) and they have a passionate affair. The only problem? She is married to the abusive Frederico Evandro (Naraku), a hitman that catchs them in the act.

Inuyasha manages to run, but Naraku swears to find and kill him even if it’s the last thing he does. In search of a safe place to hide, Inuyasha arrives in a small town where he meets Kagome, a sweet, romantic lady that simply loves to watch american, silent, black and white romance movies on the theater (the story takes place in the 20th century).

They fall in love for the very first time, but there is just a little complication: she is engaged to Douglas (probably Koga), an arrogant prick that’s more interested in sex and in her looks than in Kagome herself. She breaks the engagement off to be with Inuyasha, even though her father (or maybe Grandpa Higurashi, in this case), who is the city’s deputy, thinks Koga is the best for her. But when they’re about to be officially together... In comes Kikyo, still in love with Inuyasha and insisting they should run together because her husband was too close of finding out where Inuyasha is.

Inuyasha feels obligated to go with Kikyo, which makes Kagome think he never truly loved her, so she and reconciles with Koga. Inuyasha comes back and risks his life to prevent the wedding from happening, getting arrested in the process. I won’t spoil the ending in case anyone want to watch it, but it’s a happy one. And even though Kikyo doesn’t end up with Inuyasha, the play she roles is very important, badass and satisfying. Trust me. 

10. DIRTY DANCING

Baby is innocent and naive. And idealist at heart. Johnny is more realist, cynical and mature. But even though she was a bit spoiled, she was kind enough to put her life on hold to help him (a “nobody”) and his friends to get out of a stinky situation. And even though he is skeptical about her at first, he ends up respecting and admiring her very much. The forbidden love vibes and all the dancing makes everything even hotter. A classic, just like Inuyasha.

Honorable mentions (because I love them but people has already talked about those AU’s to exhaustion): The Mummy, Atlantis and Beauty and the Beast (duh).

   It’s  a  good  question  ,  especially  considering  I  trialed  /  contemplated  a  few  other  hxh  muses  than  what  I  currently  have.  But  I  won’t  write  muses  I  don’t  feel  I  can  do  justice  to.  It  just  leaves  a  bad  taste  in  my  mouth  if  I  feel  my  own  writing  isn’t  correct  for  the  muse.  But  Chrollo  was  one  I  instantly  felt  I  could  write  well.  Naturally  ,  there’s  lots  of  topics  to  explore  and  figure  out  ,  even  years  later  I’m  still  learning  (  and  ofc  interactions  can  change  dynamics  for  at  least  a  specific  person’s  interactions  ).  I  was  fascinated  by  Chrollo  ,  I  loved  exploring  his  mindset  and  being  ,  and  I  felt  that  I  could  write  him  well.  People  also  seemed  to  really  like  my  portrayal  when  I  first  started  and  everyone  was  so  welcoming.  Chrollo  I  could  pick  apart  and  endlessly  explore  and  his  aesthetics  also  were  appealing.  And  yes.  I  thought  he  looked  good.  That  was  part  of  it  too.  But  really  it  was  because  he  felt  like  a  character  I  could  write  and  I  found  fascinating  and  wanted  to  explore  more.

   Kalluto  is  actually  more  of  a  funny  story.  So  for  reference  ,  I  wrote  just  Chrollo  &  Kurapika  for  several  months  (  and  Kurapika  I  will  still  write  on  request  but  those  mutuals  have  left  tumblr  😔  )  .  There  was  a  whole  group  of  us  that  wrote  together  and  I’d  idly  mentioned   i  wanted  another  troupe  member  and  was  contemplating  Kalluto  since  we  didn’t  have  one  and  we  had  an  Illumi  &  Killua  (  And  later  an  Alluka  &  Kikyo  anon  ).  And  the  whole  group  practically  begged  for  me  to  try  it  out.  Kalluto  doesn’t  have  MUCH  known  about  them  ,  which  is  a  common  theme  among  the  muses  I  choose.  Rarely  do  they  have  a  fleshed  out  history.  But  there  was  a  baseline  to  his  personality  that  I  liked  and  I  decided  to  give  it  a  shot  and  ended  up  falling  in  love  with  him.  It  was  a  lot  of  fun.  It’s  also  why  Kalluto  has  a  future  verse  ,  as  everyone  had  threads  for  muses  far  post-canon  ,  like  the  Killua  had  one  where  they  did  end  up  going  home  &  becoming  the  heir  after  Silva  died  ,  my  Kalluto  staying  &  growing  with  the  Troupe  ,  so  on  and  so  forth.  also  bc  maybe  i  like  the  idea  of  next  gen  troupe  if  something  happens  to  most  of  them.  So  !  Started  as  a  suggestion  /  test  and  I’ve  just  fallen  to  love  him  so  much.

Hi darling! Never fear, I have all the stories saved, so even if something happens - they'll still exist. I mean, I rather transfer to AO3 after editing and such, but if it gets that desperate I can just...upload.

Gah. That's so incredibly kind of you to say. KagKik is such a fascinating dynamic to me. I love the possibilities. The more I write Kikyo (since I've been writing Kagome solidly for forever now), the more I find her just as interesting and as fun to write as Inuyasha. He's usually my favourite to craft, but Kikyo is kinda moving up there.

Maybe it's just that after 16 years, I'm craving something decidedly different. And Inuyasha and Kikyo? Very different.

Okay, I'm gonna revive an AU I've never actually written but it's been loitering around in the back of my head forever. I may even write it one day if I feel like doing a longer AU full of comedy fluff. The first bit was posted on Tumblr forever ago, but now it gets to be continued!

Inuyasha wasn’t quite sure how he fell into it; who would have thought you could make a career out of being a model for romance covers for fuck’s sake?! Apparently his half-demon heritage that had blessed him with his father's long thick white hair, amber eyes that glowed in the darkness and pointed dog ears gave him an edgy look, whatever that meant. His ability to retain a lean muscular build no matter what he ate didn't hurt either.

But, the money was very good, even if he had to fight off the occasional stalker, and hide from screaming female fans trying to stuff underwear in his pockets when he went out to buy milk.

His manager Miroku was a total letch, and Sango had been slacking on security - waking up to find a strange woman in his kitchen making coffee in nothing but an apron was more than a little surprising. He actually had more than a sneaking suspicion that something was going on between those two.

But the best part of being a model was Kagome. His photographer, his best friend. He'd known her for years now, and there was no one he trusted more.

Their first photo shoot three years ago had been memorable. He’d accidentally called her Kikyo, and she'd exploded at him. How was he to know? They looked kinda the same, and they were both photographers. It did kinda suck that her cousin Kikyo had possibly ruined her chances of having a serious career in photo journalism, but this gig she was doin’ paid the bills right?

Why did she have to be so serious anyway? He’d abandoned any thoughts of self respect long ago. When you knew what it was like at the very bottom, didn’t know where your next meal was coming from, you understood that self respect was a luxury.

Ah, but Kagome. He couldn't help but love her. Even though this wasn't what she wanted to be doing, she put her whole heart and soul into her work, wanting it to be the best. He knew all her little mannerisms by heart - the way she blew upwards into her fringe when she was feeling frustrated, the way she jiggled her legs under the table when she was feeling fidgety, the way her eyes lit up when she got a good idea for a shot.

He'd always said he'd do anything for her, would gladly take a bullet for her. He'd already blocked a knife attack for her, that had to count for something, right? He'd never been more terrified when she'd been threatened, and the thought of what might had happened if he'd left just a little earlier still broke him out in a cold sweat sometimes.

They'd been closer after her life was threatened, so much closer. He'd been hopeful, but pretty sure she still only saw him as a friend. I mean, how cliche was it for a model to fall for a photographer? He was pretty sure she'd think he was joking, and laugh right in his face. And then on the steps after the trial against that stalker she'd kissed him. And it had been like the heavens had opened and angels had sung.

Kagome had always wanted to be a photo journalist. She'd dreamed of it since high school, starting her career with the local paper, gaining notice when she won a world renowned travel photography competition. That was the chance that should have got her a job with a top magazine, the chance that should have made her career. But it had been stolen by her cousin Kikyo.

Kikyo, who had been her flatmate when they finished high school, so they could share their passion for photography and help support each other in their move to New York as they tried to achieve their dreams. Kikyo, who had taken the message about the year long internship she had been offered after they saw her winning photo. Kikyo, whose features were similar enough to her own that they were often mistaken for each other, if you didn't know both of them that well. Kikyo, who had turned up for that internship and somehow convinced them that she'd used a different name for the competition.

Her cousin had milked that experience for everything it was worth. And now she was the one working for a world renowned magazine, and Kagome was paying rent doing cover photos for romance novels. She may be the best one in her field, but it wasn't quite what she'd dreamed of. It's not like she'd wished upon a star when she was five and asked if she could be the one to discover the next Fabio.

The best thing about her work was spending time with Inuyasha. She'd been so angry at him the first day they'd met all those years ago. Fresh from a weekend at a family event where she'd had to hear once again that Kikyo couldn't make it because she was overseas, doing some big story, and they were all so proud of her. And he'd called her Kikyo, because he'd seen some article recently and mistakenly thought she was her cousin. After she'd calmed down, she couldn't really fault him. They had the same last name, same initial, even looked similar enough.

But he'd grown on her. And it wasn't just his good looks - he had those in abundance, but he didn't really seem to care about that. He was rough around the edges, a little rude, definitely obnoxious, but very funny, charming, brave, and also... kind of sweet?

That day she'd had that terrible cold but had still come to work because they'd had a deadline, he'd given her his jacket and then rushed out to the supermarket at lunch time so he could make her a sure fire cold remedy his mother had taught him. It had tasted absolutely feral, but surprisingly, she'd felt a lot better the next day.

Just a few weeks ago, they had finalised the court case with Inuyasha's stalker. For some reason, Jakotsu, one of Inuyasha's most ardent fans, had bizarrely seen Kagome as a threat, even though it was obvious they were only friends.

At first it was just strange letters delivered to her workplace, which she'd ignored totally. She'd only begun to be worried when weird notes appeared in her own letter box at her apartment. And then the late night phone calls had started.

She'd managed to keep it from Inuyasha until Jakotsu had slashed her tyres, and then he'd been furious. Angry at her for not telling him what was happening, and incandescent with rage at the stalker.

After that he'd been there for her whenever she'd been afraid, so protective and caring. When Jakotsu had snuck up on her late one night in the parking lot, he'd blocked the attack, stepping in front of her in the nick of time, taking a slash to his arm that was originally aimed at her face, then knocking out Jakotsu and holding him until the police arrived.

He'd been the one injured, with nearly 20 stitches in his forearm, but he'd been worried about her. Thank goodness for swift youkai healing. She'd been devastated that he'd been injured, but he'd just shrugged it off, telling her he was glad it was him and not her.

After that, she'd finally admitted to herself that her feelings for him were more than just friendly. Had been for such a long time now. He was gorgeous, but she wasn't the kind of girl that slept around. She needed to be friends first, be comfortable, and there was no one she was more comfortable around than Inuyasha. He was her first thought in the morning and her last at night. But wasn't that a little cliche, a photographer falling for a model? She'd thought he'd probably think she was joking and laugh in her face.

But that moment after the trial and they'd been standing out in the sunlight, she hadn't been able to help herself. She was just so happy, so grateful that he hadn't been injured worse. So she'd practically crash tackled him and kissed him. No tentative pecks. No warning. She couldn't bear to let another day pass without him knowing how she felt. And when he'd kissed her back, with Miroku and Sango cat calling in the background, yelling at them to get a room, it had felt like heaven.

"Where's Yura this morning?" asked Inuyasha, glancing around the make up room, as if she would suddenly appear out of nowhere with her ever present combs and scissors.

"She's called in sick, so you've got me on double duty today. Aren't you lucky?" Kagome teased, poking her tongue out at him.

"So, you gonna model with me too?" he grinned, wrapping his arm around her waist and holding her close to rub his nose softly againt hers. "Who's gonna take the happy snaps?"

"You wish. It's a new model today, Tuva, we haven't met her before. This is for the viking one, so we needed someone with fair hair and pale skin. The photos in her online portfolio are gorgeous. And the agency recommended her, so she should be fine."

Kagome gave him a quick peck on the cheek, laughing at his pouting face, then patted the chair in front of the mirror. "Sit down already will you? I called her earlier to let her know what was going on and she offered to get her own hair and makeup done at the studio there, so now I've just got to do you."

Inuyasha couldn't help the flutter down low in his stomach at her statement, even though he knew she'd meant it innocently enough. She began by brushing his long hair and he closed his eyes, feeling the regular pull of the brush on his scalp, her fingers gently protecting his ears from the rough bristles.

Damn that felt good. If he were a cat he'd be purring, and it took every inch of self control to not let out a deep rumbling growl of pleasure when she ran her hands through his hair, pulling the top back and securing it in a rough pompadour with a ponytail behind his head.

Then her nimble fingers were making small cornrow braids near his temples, adding little leather thongs and silver charms. The gentle tugging of his scalp felt so good. He squirmed in his seat a little, keeping his eyes closed.

"Sorry, am I pulling too hard?"

"Nah, feels so damn good. You're a natural at this. Wanna change careers and become my hairdresser?"

She pretended to think a moment, then giggled.

"Maybe. You're hair is fun to play with. It's much prettier than mine."

He opened his eyes, watching her as her deft fingers twisted his hair together.

"Nope. Untrue. Have you ever seen your hair in the sunlight Kagome? The way it shimmers almost blue? It's beautiful."

Her cheeks pinked, and she glanced at the mirror, her eyes fluttering downwards again when he caught her eyes.

"Stop. You're the one that's the freaking model, Inuyasha. Let me concentrate on this or we'll be behind schedule."

"So Ms. Higurashi can take a compliment about her photography skills but not her person? That's kinda weird don't you think? Especially when you're so pretty."

"Inuuuu..."

"C'mere", he said, tugging on her arm to move her into his lap, ignoring her squawk of protest. "Why can't my pretty girl take a compliment from me, huh?"

"I can! But we're at work right now Inuyasha!"

"Alright, prove it. Look in the mirror and say what I say, and then I'll let you go." She squirmed but he tightened his arm around her waist, pinning him close to her. "Gotta do what I say Higurashi. Gotta keep the talent happy!" She smacked his arm, still trying to wriggle out of his hold, doing her best to hold in her smile, but failing miserably.

"So, how should I keep the talent happy Inuyasha?" she smirked. "You were pretty happy when I left your apartment last night."

He moved his head to rest on her shoulder, looking at her reflection in the mirror.

"Ah, but that's where you're very wrong pretty girl." Kagome's face fell.

"You didn't enjoy last night?"

"Oh I did. Very much", he grinned, bucking his hips underneath her, then kissing a path down the arch of her neck onto her shoulder. "But then you left. And I was in that big empty bed all alone, with no one to keep me company."

"Oh, poor you. You know why I left Inuyasha. You needed to have a good night's sleep before the shoot today, and you know what would have happened if I'd stayed longer. There wouldn't have been much sleeping going on."

He nuzzled into her neck. "Maybe not, but this talent would have been much much happier. I don't want you to leave anymore." Kagome froze.

"You... you want me to move in with you?"

SO, this was a tricky question! Because historically, I feel like I’ve written mostly fluff (which I am FAR better at LOL).

BUT. I do have a WIP. It’s one of my oldest, along with Cowboy Blues. It’s my angst piece. A Kagome-never-goes-back-in-time fic where she ends up meeting Inuyasha’s reincarnation. My current tentative title is “The Five Stages of Grief”. I haven’t gone to it in a while, because I’m still working out a lot of the kinks. I think I haven’t gone back to this because the very core of this fic is not necessarily great for InuKag, and that makes me sad LOL. But, I shall share a snippet with you 😊 (tumblr mobile is DUMB and won’t let me separate it properly so this is a whole goddamn paragraph instead of what it looks like on docs, so I’m sorry for that lol)

Inuyasha didn’t make another appearance in her dreams for several months. Once again, they shifted. Instead of merely being a spectator to her surroundings, she was finally a part of the dream. She could never see her appearance, or hear her own voice. Usually, she was walking along the path that led to the Goshinkboku, or picking flowers in an open field. The sun was always shining with a light breeze that felt so cool and soft on her warmed skin. The dreams were rather mundane and peaceful, yet Kagome would wake up with the nagging feeling that something just wasn't right. She had also stopped dreaming of Miroku, Sango, and Shippo, which only fueled her apprehension. It was irrational to feel this way about such a calm dream, but it was like staring into the eye of the storm; eventually the howling winds would return to destroy anything in it's path. That was when she began having the dream that currently woke her up tonight. The first time she realized that the dream was about Kikyo and Inuyasha had her hurling into her bedside trash can. If she had been having visions of the life all her friends were living now that she was gone, what did it mean to be dealing about the man she loved with his past love? They hadn't seen Kikyo in the weeks prior to their battle with Naraku. The last time they spoke, Kikyo had addressed the whole group, not just Inuyasha, speaking in riddles about power and fate. She rarely took her eyes off Kagome, as if she was speaking only to her. She left almost as fast as she arrived, leaving them with more questions than answers. Kaede had a strange look on her face when they relayed what Kikyo had said the day before the final battle, but there just wasn't time to delve into the matter. They all assumed they would talk about it should they all make it out alive. Kagome knew it was possible that Kikyo was still out there, roaming the wild countryside. What would she do now that Naraku was vanquished? Would her soul finally be able to rest in piece? Would she still try to drag Inuyasha to hell with her? The second question hurt Kagome more than she could ever realize. Part of her wanted to be angry, both at Kikyo and Inuyasha, if that were to happen, but she couldn't blame him if he did. Kikyo was such a big part of his life, and if he lost hope that Kagome would ever return to him, the next plausible solution would be to join with Kikyo again. No matter that he had friends he could rely on. She resisted the urge to throw up. The thought of never going back to her friends literally made her sick. The thought of never seeing Inuyasha again made her body go numb. She had been bed ridden all week. She didn't care about going to school, or seeing her school friends, or eating. Nothing mattered anymore. Her only desire was to fuse with her bed, so she didn't have to feel like this anymore. The storm raged on, with no end in sight.

🌻How long have you been writing fan fiction?

I originally started writing fanfic wayyy back in the day when I was 12, 13 years old. Most of what I wrote never actually made it to the internet. I was a Quizilla kid, so I don’t think there’s any evidence of my previous works from then (thank god xD). Although I ripped out the paper inside, I still have some of the composition books I would use to write in with some tentative titles! In recent years, I started writing again in the beginning of 2020, my first piece being for White Day (which would eventually become the universe of Cowboy Blues).

Mae, I have so many things that you wrote that I’m obsessed with. You’re an amazing writer and I’m always amazed by your ideas and how you execute them.

I feel like I need to mention this fic because it’s probably the moment I was turned into a whore but I still remember very vividly how El Sin Respeto made me feel. Also, I always thought that even when you wrote Hisoka softer you characterised him really well.

You probably know that I read all your Illumi fics ever but I think one of those I liked the most was Kikyo’s Heir. Now HQ so as you know I think your characterisation of Ushijima is immaculate. I truly don’t see anyone else who’s able to understand his character the way you do and the way you write him is so attentive to every detail about him. It’s truly impressive. Hi, I have been working on your Kikyo theme for the last couple of days, and there is a couple of things I still can't quite get right. Is there a way to add more links on the sidebar, without it ending under See More? I noticed on the preview that it had more before the see more, but I can't figure out how to get that done. I was also wondering the four buttons, Dashboard, message, customize and follow is there a way to change them? I love the theme, so I hope you can help :)

Hey! Thanks for reaching out and using my theme! I rarely help with any major customization questions since it requires lengthy customization + explanation but I'll give this an exception :)

To answer your questions:

Changing the Links' Style

As you know by now, the links can be added by using Tumblr's built-in links. I have added it, as a default setting, to make all the links appear beneath the [See More] section except for ask and submit. Technically, it is possible for you to do that (depending on if we have the same concept in mind). So, to do it, you need to do it as follow -

Go to your Customization page. And click [Edit HTML].

Click ctrl/cmd + F, and find {block:HasPages} .

Once your find it, remove <details>, <summary>{lang:See more}</summary>, and </details>. Click [Update Preview] and [Save]. Supposedly, you'll be seeing that none of the links are hidden beneath the [See More] section. This is because we have omitted the code which allows the link to stay hidden inside [See More]. Here's the supposed outcome: 

However, do take note of the following -

The font size will be the same as the other sidebar headings like Ask/Submit.

Once a user clicks the About, Ask, or Submit button, every link will be going down (idk how to explain this but here's a photo):

This may or may not look pleasing in your eyes, depending on how you see it.

If you have so many links and it needs to scroll down, unfortunately, your search bar would be like this:

Here are the solutions to the above issues:

Decrease the size of the font

There are two relevant selectors that are crucial for this solution which are details and .sidebar a. details cover over the ask, submit, and about section while .sidebar a covers over the links like Index and other links added inside using Tumblr's built-in.

Search for the above selectors at the CSS area/ <style>.

Once you found it, search for font-size and edit it to 1rem (recommended) or whatever suits you/your blog.

Not getting the search bar in an awkward position.

Search for .sbp at the CSS area.

Omit the position, bottom, and left and replace it with margin:2rem 0.5rem;

Done.

Tumblr controls

As to your second question, I think you need to explain further, what do you mean by "a way to change them"? This is just general customization:

At the code itself, search for /*TUMBLR CONTROL*/.

You can edit the .tc > a and .tc > a:hover. However, do it at your own risk. I'll not assist you in this matter. If you don't understand any of the properties, you can simply Google it to find the answer.

Alright, so I’m bad at Tumblr, and though I wanted to just reblog the original post from @strawberrycreampiefluff and put most of it under a cut or perhaps find a way to trim it, I couldn’t find a way to make it work. So, we’re starting a new thread. Anyhow, since we discussed this beforehand, I’ll start from the beginning, only working with the storytelling elements from the series, and I’ll leave out the latter part of the post regarding moralizing (which I mostly agree with anyway, so it’s no loss to me).

“I  was trying to convey that considering the methods of storywriting and telling,  it would break the “pattern” Rumiko Takashi built up and lowering the  impact of Sessh character growth he would later experience.  A father-daughter bond is not inferior to a romantic bond, but it  would seem out of place, to have both his father and brother form a  romantic relationship with a human and then Sessh breaking that pattern  by introducing a new kind of relationship-dynamic - when he is the most  crucial character in the series when it comes to demon-human relations.”

I’m still quite unclear HOW the impact of Sesshomaru’s character growth is necessarily lowered from not having a romantic bond with a human. Why is the continuation of this pattern so important, in your view, to the character’s development? From my perspective, introducing a new relationship dynamic into and breaking patterns is actually a good thing in stories - It’s a great way to add variety and a different point of view to a narrative. Having characters take a pattern in a different, unique direction can add meaning in a way the reader couldn’t see coming, give the story unexpected dimension.

And you’ve already said that you and other shippers like yourself don’t see anything romantic while Rin is still a child in the original series, so that is effectively what happened. Since we agree that the relationship wasn’t actually romantic within the context of the original Inuyasha series, Sesshomaru took a love of a human in an entirely different direction than his father or his brother did. Which conveys complexity in how youkai can relate to humans that wasn’t in the established pattern. As a reader, I find that kind of thing fun and engaging, though you may disagree.

“A father-daughter relationship would still put Sessh in a superior position to Rin (as the father), not adding a lot to his character development other than him caring for one other human being.”

I have to wince here, because while yes, technically Sesshomaru is in a superior position to Rin in a father-daughter relationship, the implication here is that this can be compared to the sense of superiority he had over humans as a whole that you referenced earlier. Is a parent-child relationship really comparable to a racist outlook? I feel like these two things are quite unrelated, having two ENTIRELY different connotations from the word “superior”. One is an entirely natural superior position, using one’s greater experience, knowledge, and ability to facilitate the growth and guidance of someone still on their way up. The other is a wholly unnatural and malicious disregard for a person based on superficial features. Sesshomaru’s superior attitude toward humans before he met Rin was not based on a paternalistic concern, but complete disgust and the notion that they were entirely unworthy of consideration. The two connotations of “superior” here are just not analogous in the greater narrative.

“In a romantic relationship, both partners should be equals (anything  other is unacceptable), for this to happen Sessh would’ve had to lower himself  (his pride) to Rins level, since he was the one with the big ego and  humans were regarded as one of the lower creatures of the food chain.”

Again, I think it is entirely possible for Sesshomaru to learn not to regard humans as “lower on the food chain” through a relationship that ISN’T romance, but that aside, this whole notion brings up a question: why didn’t Rumiko Takahashi write Rin into the story as a young adult? We’ve already discussed how romantic implications to the relationship couldn’t exist while she’s still a child in the series, and why Sesshomaru and Rin are definitely NOT equal during the series. So if it was so important for Sesshomaru to be otherwise equal to Rin so he can lower his pride and truly consider her such, why was Rin not written as a fully autonomous adult so we could cut to the chase? It seems that if what you’re describing was really Rumiko Takahashi’s intent, it would have been a lot easier if the girl was already grown up. At the very least, our dear author could have ended the series when Rin was an appropriate age to actually make the point instead of leaving it hanging.

“Doing the exact same thing he criticized his father for, which  for him would’ve been humiliating in the beginning of the series. The  sequel (if you regard it as canon) goes even farther, making him create  his own half demons - the very reason he hated his brother in the first  place. His mother even said he becomes like his father in the strangest  ways - and the only “strange” thing we know about his father was his  romantic relationship with Izayoi.”

Since English isn’t your first language, I’m guessing you’re just mistaken in the map of this sentence, but the word “strange” here is referring to Sesshomaru’s behavior in relation to his father’s. What is strange is how Sesshomaru is like his father, not his father’s ways. This actually makes the opposite point - it seems to refer to the ways in which Sesshomaru is behaving as odd, maybe in relation to a pattern his father fit into.

“That’s why I think it wouldn’t fall apart if we draw the parallel in a wider context as you say, because other characters didn’t have the same starting point  as Sessh. I very much agree with you, that Inuyasha’s platonic bonds  would also count as a dog forming close bonds with humans, but in  Inuyasha’s or Shippou’s case, they didn’t need the same character  development like Sessh, since they had a different attitude towards  humans or “lesser-beings” in the first place (Inuyasha was even past the  stage of lowering himself, also out of romantic reasons btw, since he  was ready to become human for Kikyo).”

I’m curious as to how the parallel and pattern matter if it’s null and void because Inuyasha and the other characters we talked about have different character arcs. Of course they aren’t starting from the same place as Sesshomaru, characters never do. They’re varied and diverse because it would be boring as tar to write them all going through the same issues. My point about the parallel was that even if it could be said that there’s some similarity in how dog YOUKAI form bonds with humans to actual DOGS, it’s not really a good parallel, because there are other “species” of youkai much less friendly with humans doing it too. I’m having trouble understanding what this argument has to do with that.

In reference to the above, I agree, the example characters you cited didn’t have the same level of dismissive racism as Sesshomaru did (I say “same level” because Shippou does carry a bit of prejudice, even as a small child), but when that’s apparent, why is the pattern even relevant? Since the characters aren’t set to all learn the same lesson, their relationships shouldn’t really resemble each other’s in the long run either, should they? Writers use relationships as tools for character development, and they usually want to use the right tool for the right job. Maybe romantic love with a human was right for Inuyasha because he had issues with vulnerability and reconciling his half-heritage. What if SESSHOMARU benefited more as a character from an unconditional bond (free from the conditions of sexual/romantic attraction) to demonstrate to him how even the weakest creature is incomprehensibly valuable for reasons impossible to articulate, and they are worth using his incredible level of “superior” power to protect and defend them? It’s a different kind of humbling oneself than what you were talking about, but I think it’s just as meaningful, and it fits Sesshomaru’s character development neatly into the the original text. It doesn’t require Sunrise make a sequel more than a decade later to wrap up the character development that Rumiko Takahashi meant to do when Rin grew up even though she could have just written her in as an adult in the first place.

“But Rin will obviously not always stay 8/11 years old, she will grow  into her own person and become a woman (while living apart from Sessh),  creating a completely different power dynamic with Sessh. One that would  still be an imbalance, but much different than when she was a child.”

As far as the narrative was concerned, Rin COULD very well have stayed a child forever, though. She was written as a character in a story. When the story is done, so are the characters. You’ve said before and here that Inuyasha is just fiction, and it is, but accepting that means accepting that Rin doesn’t grow up without some prompting. She doesn’t age but through the hand of a creator, fanfiction authors or Sunrise. When you say she’s not going to stay 8-11 forever, what you mean is that actual humans who experience actual time are not satisfied with her age as it stood when the story ended, and actively impose time upon her.

And since applying time to a fictional character is something that has to be intentional, so too do the conditions you mention to create the perfect environment for the ship. The different dynamic that isn’t father-daughter, but still a little bit of not-weird power imbalance. The “lowering” of Sesshomaru’s ego in that specific romantic way (that I’m still not sure I understand, but we’ll go with it). The way in which the romance is developed without either character realizing it so that Sesshomaru can’t be accused of using the power imbalance to manipulate a girl he’s had authority over since she was eight. Returning to what catalyzed the change in Sesshomaru in the first place while carefully treading around the fact that it was built upon an unconditional relationship that now suddenly has conditions on it. That’s a lot of mental legwork to do, which is fine, because that’s part of creative expression. But you have to acknowledge that none of this would be necessary if the pairing were “obvious”.

It certainly wasn’t very obvious to some of us. We came to a very different conclusion, saw everything a bit differently. Now we’re being punished for having a less popular interpretation of this relationship, shut down by SUNRISE and told that we don’t get to have that interpretation, because they’re considered an authority on what is canon in Inuyasha, and they’re taking sides to squeeze more money out of the Inuyasha franchise with a next-gen sequel. It doesn’t seem to matter that Sunrise was never really very good at telling Inuyasha stories, or that next-gen sequels never seem to be any good for lack of stakes and boring plots.

Sunrise’s interpretation is still considered to be more “valid” than ours. And that really hurts. So, if you found yourself wondering why there’s so much vitriol coming from the anti camp, it’s a combination of this, and the fact that they don’t really have the option of avoiding the content they don’t like anymore. It’s kind of EVERYWHERE now.

So, there we are. I don’t want to give the impression from the above that I’m trying to tear apart your arguments to somehow discredit the pairing. Shippers gonna ship, whether it makes sense to me or not. But I did want to highlight how any of the things you bring up can very well be interpreted entirely differently.

In My Humble Opinion: Inuyasha and Kagome

So I recently stumbled upon something here on tumblr, and it made me both think and cringe. It reminded me of when I first started out this blog, and the few that asked me why I write the way I do. The main subject being, why pair Kagome with everyone else but Inuyasha. The most I’ll do in regards towards Kagome and Inuyasha, is either familial or friendship.

So the post I stumbled up more or less claimed Inuyasha with Kagome the perfect couple, non-toxic couple. I honestly, do not agree. I have nothing against those that ship the two, but for me, them as a couple is far from perfect. No couple, real or fiction, should ever be perfect though. But it was the claim that they are non-toxic that had me cringing.

Inuyasha verbally, emotionally, and mentally abused her. Constantly. - Just because it’s not physical does not make it any less traumatic for Kagome. A common trope in the manga/anime is them arguing where Kagome is left upset in best cases and tears in worst. I honestly don’t recall him ever apologizing to Kagome when she returns.

Inuyasha often left her defenseless to go visit with Kikyo after they set up camp. - True, the others can defend themselves and help defend her; but since he apointed himself their leader/protector, to simply abandon them in the dead of night without telling them leaves them open to surprise attacks which can lead to major injuries if not death.

Inuyasha often compared Kagome to Kikyo, a raised wraith, and found Kagome always lacking. - Compared to Kagome; Kikyo was the stronger miko, the master of the bow, would never do this or that, would never make such mistakes. Being compared to a dead person and found lacking is upsetting to say the least.

Inuyasha often put down Kagome’s interests and needs. - Whenever Kagome brings up school, Inuyasha’s automatic response was to say how it’s stupid. Whenver Kagome brought something from her time to share with the others, he told her it was stupid. Unless it involved ramen.

Inuyasha often dehumanized Kagome by stating she was simply a ‘Shard Detector’. - This was stated often to others as well as to Kagome herself. A type of ploy to remind her of what she did, holding that emotional guilt over her so she was sure to fix her mistake. To always stay by his side on his terms.

Inuyasha did not like it whenever someone else showed interest in Kagome, becoming antagonistic, territorial, and possessive. - This happened with everyone. Miroku, Shippo, Sango. It’s especially prominant with Kouga, as he acts up whenever they cross paths.

Inuyasha showed he was not above physical abuse. - While it was not towards Kagome, it was often times towards Shippo. Who was both younger and weaker than him. Captial punishment is abusive, regardless of what one says. He was the same with Myoga or anyone that ‘annoyed’ him.

Inuyasha considered everyone else ‘beneath’ him in some way. - If they were human, which Kagome is, they were weaker, stupid, and needier compared to him. Demons were too upper crust or high brow for him. Though he originally wanted to be a full blooded demon himself, as well as agreed to be human for Kikyo. A little contradictory.

Inuyasha never believe Kagome whenever she spoke up about the crimes Kikyo committed against her or the group as a whole. - Whenever Kikyo committed a crime against the group, Kagome, or Inuysha himself, Inuyasha was quick to end all talk against her. Especially when it came from Kagome herself.

Inuyasha does not appreciate things deviating from what he wants. - Inuyasha has proven that he will do what he can to get what he wants. From the miniscule to denying anything else to eat unless it’s ramen, to the more prominant to dragging Kagome away from her family and friends in her time to bring her back to the past.

Inuyasha breaks his word. - He made a promise to Kagome that he would never leave Kagome; but he did so repeatedly to go see Kikyo. Often times when Kagome was in danger.

These are just a few of the things that I can recall from the top of my head while typing this out, as well as general. But these are the reasons why I don’t ship Kagome with Inuyasha. As friends, yes. And there are those out there that will give reasons why they should be together.

Kagome helped get Inuyasha to trust others - Yes, she did. There is no denying that. Especially when it come to his human night. But just because one can trust others, does not mean that one will not abuse them in some form.

Kagome made him a promise to stay by his side. - Again, not going to deny this fact. But that does not neccassarily mean she has to do so as a lover. It could mean as a friend or famly. Even someone to support him in the quest to destroy Naraku. She never said how.

Kagome loves Inuyasha. - Remember, there are many types of love. The love for a friend, family, love in general.

Kagome is Kikyo’s reincarnation, they’re soulmates and their second chance at love. - Forcing that on Kagome is cruel. She is her own person, something she reminds everyone constantly in the series to begin with. She is not a ‘Do-Over’ for what was missed.

Kagome stated that Inuyasha is her first love. - That does not justify that they stay together. Be honest, do first loves ever truly last?

Kagome showed him that it was perfectly alright to be who and what he was. - A wonderful point. A good one everybody could use a reminding of everyone once in a while. Still not a conclusive reason why they should remain together as lovers.

Now I know there are going to be those that have arguments against the points I mentioned and bring up their own.

Inuyasha is a half-demon, he can’t control his instincts - Okay, but even wild animals know not to hurt those closest to them. Unless they are injured and cornered, or riddled with disease.

Inuyasha made a promise to Kikyo - Does that mean the promise to her is more important to any promise he makes to any other? I should hope not.

Inuyasha suffered so much throughout his life. - That is no excuse to treat others poorly.

Inuyasha is just scared to lose everyone now that he’s got a family. - Again, lashing out is no way to keep others close to you.

The differences in the eras they were raised causes confussion and misunderstandings. - Another excuse to lash out.

Inuyasha respected and treated Kagome like the modern woman she is. - Ah, so did others that knew her well. But Inuyasha also used that to put her down; how she was unable to do standard tasks of those from the Feudal Era, would probably not survive in that Era on her own.

I’m going to leave it at that, as I feel it gets my point of view across to my stance/opinion on the subject. Remember, this is just MY OPINION on this. Does it mean it’s right? No. Am I upset with those that disagree with me? No. That’s because we all have a right to an opinion on this, so I open this up to healthy debate. If others are going to rant about my opinion, I’ll simply delete those comments. Healthy debate is one thing, ranting is another.

Ever since I started writing fan fictions, I had some sort of version of Dya in my pen-names, for no particular reason I’ll admit (and, as you do, Dyana was the name of my very first OC). There were lots of variations, and a couple even left out the “Dya”, but it’s what I always came back to. Miss_Dyana (on Ao3) and Just Dyana (on ff.net) are probably my favorite now.

Fandoms You Write For:

Mainly Inuyasha really! I have a couple of pieces for the Fairy Tail fandom out there (namely Gajevy though, fun fact, I’m originally a Graylu shipper, it was my very first OTP), I’ve also written a bit for Veronica Mars, Riverdale and Sky High (for LoVe, Falice and Greenpeace, or Layla/Warren, respectively). I’m fairly monomaniac I guess, I can only be very involved in one fandom at a time, and it’s been Inuyasha for the past year and a half — and I’m very happy about it. I like indie otomes and I wrote for one of them, namely Changeling, too (it’s a great game by the way, I definitely recommend it) .

At the moment, no doubt The Maid and The Bodyguard, but then it’s my only multi chapter considering The Cursed Paintings is in hiatus. I’m bad enough at writing one multi chapter at a time, I’d never get anything done if I started several… (Yup, that’s why The Cursed Paintings isn’t being updated) My most popular fic ever however was back when I was writing for My Candy Love, in French at the time (so Amour Sucré), and it was called “Moi, seize ans, pétasse repentie…” I was 16 when I started it, never finished it ^^

Favorite Story:

That I wrote myself? Hm. I actually really, really enjoy writing The Maid and the Bodyguard. Other than that, I have a big soft spot for Superhero I think. I also love all the stories (generally prettyyyy angsty) in which I explore the characters’ emotions more in depth.

Story You Were Most Nervous to Post:

I’m always nervous to post in a new fandom / on new characters. I feel I need to write 2-3 stories to be really comfortable with them, so the first ones aren’t great and at the same time I can’t get a good grasp of the characters without, well, writing them. In the Inuyasha fandom though, I’m always nervous to post something related to Kikyo. I don’t want to have my writing labeled as ‘bashing’, but I also dislike her as a character and as a person. Writing about Kagome’s emotions also feels delicate, especially because to me it’s essential to recognize Inuyasha’s responsibility and mistakes when doing so. Bad Day was definitely a bit stressful to post since it involves both of those things. Different takes on scenes that are usually liked by the fandom are also hard, as in I don’t know what reception I’ll get. My take on the almost kiss, Opposites, for example, while being actually one of my favorite stories, was a bit stressful, same goes for Haunted — and yet I really, really like them both.

How Do You Pick Titles:

I’m pretty bad at it lol. I mean, The Maid and the Bodyguard? Really? I like to pick song lyrics though. I feel it often really gives a good impression of what the story is like. It’s better if you know the song, but even if you don’t I think it sounds nice. Heaven Is A Place on Earth is pretty evocative no matter what and still somewhat poetic, for example.

Do You Outline:

…ish? I mean I’d like to. Theoretically. I like to at least have a good idea of where I’m going (knowing how it ends), but it’s not necessarily in detail. If I’m afraid I’m going to forget it, I write it down. The first page of my document is just scenes I’d like to write for the story. So, I guess the answer is mostly no. I’d kinda like to do it more (having planned one thing in particular would have saved me from an almost two-months pause in TMTB), but I do appreciate the freedom it gives to me.

Yeah, um, about that… I’m bad at finishing stuff? Only thing I’ve ever finished was a story for Disney Channel’s ZOMBIES. I was really, really happy about managing to get it done though!

Well, Inuvember, hopefully? So that should be intense (and I have a couple of ideas that I’m excited to share for that but they’ll have to be surprises). For some reason tumblr just showen me your old post, of "inuyasha rewatch" and I absolutly agree with you platonic love for rin and sess, it's rare to stumble across someone with similar views, so I wanted to give you some food of thought before I pass on. The legend of how Inugami appeared to be, they were killed by humans, but couldn't help but feel attached by the one who first gave them food although since they are dead they do not longer consume it. Now look how Rin and Sess first met

2/4  Second, the temple guard dogs, are said to nourish them self by moon or sunlight. Sesshouamru dog form looks like a Kangal dog, a breed that guards sheep without humans help, it's pretty in depended on and loyal, Sesshouamru seems to protect the weak, we also see him attack bandits and wolves first, both things are treat to sheep.

3/4  Third, the beautiful symbolic of the lord of the west, west is were the sun goes down, it's the land of death, death is obviously his thing, his swords connect him to the other side, and allows him to even bring back dead, he travels to the other side twice. He and Rin represent Hades and Persephone, proof are Cerberus ( Ah Un) The fairy man who connects the world of the living with the death (Jacken) we also see Jacken steering Sesshoumarus boat when we first see them - they come from "west"

4/4  Persephone, also in the old legends choose and even hide form her father in this other world, she found it cool and wanted to stay. Hades was cool with it, later people thought this couldn't be right, and she got kidnapped. Very similar to how humans view Rin and Sesshouamrus relationship. They can't understand so he is bewitching her. I found the lore an inspiration behind the two of them so fascinating, i always get excited when meeting someone with the same feelings. Sorry for the long rant

No need to apologize for the long rants. I like long rants. I have no idea if you’re still around to see my response but yes, I love coming across people who look at Sesshomaru and Rin in the way I do, it is a bit of a rarity. And I love talking about these two. And really, I have no idea if Inuyasha is even still a heavily discussed topic anymore. This was very informative and the themes of these various folklores are really interesting when you put it in the context of Sesshomaru and Rin’s relationship.

I remember first watching Inuyasha when I was a teenager and coming into the episode arc where Sesshomaru and Rin first met, like I was super afraid that Sesshomaru was going to kill Rin in that moment because up until that point, we hadn’t really seen much of his merciful side and then I remember being really confused about this sudden interest taken in her. I eventually just chalked it up to genuine curiosity about her with Sesshomaru most likely never meeting someone like Rin before. And then, of course the Tenseiga taking an interest in wanting to save her (which really, I like to head-canon as Sesshomaru’s own subconscious desire to save her) which lead to even more curiosity and intrigue towards Rin and then eventually he fell into the same trap that his father and brother did, where he eventually began to feel affection towards her and paved a more positive outlook towards humans. But with your input on the original inugami legend, that also makes a lot of sense particularly with Sesshomaru and Inuyasha as well. Sesshomaru met Rin when she was trying to heal him of his wounds and subsequently took her on as his ward and in his own way loved her. And Inuyasha met Kagome and Kikyo and formed relationships with them in moments where they actively try to help him. So there definitely is some merit to the legend of the inugami feeling something towards those that help them even though both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru both initially felt contempt towards humans for their own various reasons.

And that is an interesting observation about Sesshomaru having a propensity for killing without prejudice towards those who would hurt the weak. He does seem to immediately go for the kill whenever bandits are around but in that filler episode when he meets Koga and his wolves, despite knowing that it was that pack that initially killed Rin, he lets them go. Of course, his reason is because there was no need to as his only desire is to track down and kill Naraku but maybe there is something else behind that wherein he recognizes that these wolves are no longer preying on the weak and defenseless. Although I wonder how much of this falls under author intent and if the writer was thinking more along the lines of lore or if it just came down to the author knowing she was going to write more of an anti-hero arc for Sesshomaru and therefore didn’t want to have Sesshomaru do things that were too terrible that he couldn’t be forgiven for and redeemed of.

The Hades and Persephone mythos has always intrigued me and maybe that’s why Sesshomaru and Rin always resonated more with me (platonically of course in Rin and Sesshomaru’s situation, I absolutely did not ship them romantically in the slightest for obvious reasons). Both Hades and Sesshomaru are often misunderstood just like Rin and Persephone’s decisions are often misaligned from a lack of understanding of all four of these characters. The people surrounding Persephone didn’t understand her decision of wanting to be with Hades because they didn’t understand her or Hades. Just like people don’t understand Rin’s decision to stay with Sesshomaru because they don’t have an understanding of her or Sesshomaru. But both pairs understand each other perfectly in ways no one else can and I think that’s a beautiful thing.

But this was a great ask, super informative and definitely made me look at the show in ways I hadn’t really before so thanks for that!

It’s like no one else matters. You can actually see the tenderness in their eyes, how much they care for each other.

Well, this one is difficult because there are tons of scenes which I love but I’ll do my best. 

Inuyasha and Kagome :

When Naraku reveals who he is for the first time in ep 21. Any episode with Koga, that really shows inuyasha’s jealousy. The movies…god. First and second movie. All scenes I guess.

Sei and Shimako :

Season two episode 6. Though there are scenes in many episodes of season 1 too.

Sakura and Syaoran :

When Yuuko gives them new bodies and real syaoran is born. In the beginning when sakura is planning to tell she loves him but in the end couldn’t. When syaoran fights kamui. When Syaoran is killed by his son and his greatest regret is that he couldn’t hear those words. I guess I should stop. At this rate I am going to end up with an essay.

Touya and Yukito/Yue :

When touya gives his power to yue. I ship yue and touya and yukito and touya. The last scene in original cardcaptor sakura manga where they are together in the kitchen. When touya corners yukito in school, he knows something is up.

Seishirou and Subaru :

Of course the scene in which seishirou dies. Goddammit. I can’ t think about it. Subaru loses his senses [ in Tokyo Babylon] when seishirou’s eye is gouged out. This is getting too painful for me. I’ll stop.

This pairing reduces me to tears. They belong together. They should’ve been together with hokuto and kakyou.

Kamui and Fuuma :

Little fuuma helping little kamui in one of the extras. Well, just read X. The whole thing is unresolved sexual tension between the two. The creators said it themselves they are soulmates, I mean even in TRC one can see there is something going on between them. Subaru and seishirou is blatantly obvious.

Misaki and Akihiko :

When haruhiko kidnaps misaki, when akihiko comes to pick up misaki from his brother’s house, the train scene. There are many scenes especially the ones with Ijuiin Kyou.

Nowaki and Hiroki :

Again, there are many scenes. The library scene. Goddammit. It reduces me to tears every time. When hiroki spies on nowaki, then sends him flowers. Aww. Just remembering them brings a stupid smile to my face.

Yona and Hak :

Episode 24 of the anime, in manga when that festival happened in one of the villages and yona danced in the village garb. There are many scenes throughout the manga.

Kaname and Yuuki :

Well, volume 11 and 12 scenes. Then the scenes after yuuki sees kaname’s past, end of volume 13 and beginning of volume 14, all the scenes in which yuuki says she needs to go to her kaname. When yuuki takes kaname’s blood after being awakened. There are many scenes.

7.What song or songs remind you of your favorite fandom, character or ship?

Hmm, as such no song in particular.

I did read a fanfiction though which had, “I am watching you” for seishirou and Subaru and I couldn’t help but find it hilarious.

And I think, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri suits yume. It’s true after all.

  8. If the creators of your favorite fandom asked you to write the ship canon-confirmation episode, what will you write/how will it happen? 

Hmm. Well, I hope yuuki gets reincarnated somehow and she and kaname live a long happy life together. Maybe kaname is going somewhere and he bumps into a girl, who has long brown hair and when they look at each other he realizes it’s the girl from his memories. And that’s it. After that kaname never sees the butterfly familiar because yuuki is with him now.

X is never gonna end but I always had a feeling that both fuuma and kamui would die. Because fuuma said that only kamui can grant his wish. They both die.

Then they are shown together in another alternate universe.

I always thought fuuma and kamui suffered equally. You cannot weigh their suffering. Fuuma lost everything because kamui made one choice. Their story is too tragic. 

I’ll come back to this question later.

9.Do you prefer to indulge in (consume or create) fanart or fanfic of your favorite ship? 

Sometimes I sketch and I create edits for my favourite series. And I enjoy seeing fanarts and manga colourings. I write fanfictions too. I love reading fanfictions.

Both. Both. I love both.

11.What ship are you embarrassed to admit you like? 

Not one. They are all great ships. Nothing to be embarrassed about. 

12.What task are you most likely to procrastinate so you can indulge in your ship or fandom? 

I sacrifice my sleep sometimes. That’s about it. 

13.How many hours of the day do you spend reading fanfic or looking at fanart or other media? 

When there is nothing to do, quite a lot of hours. But when exams are there, I see how the preparation is. But I usually spend quite a lot of time on it.

14.How many memorabilia’s do you own of your favorite fandom or ship (clothes, plushies, etc.)? 

Well, I’ve got lots of volumes of each series and artbooks too. And I’ve also got drama CD’s of some series and magazines. 

15.If you could own one authentic item from your favorite fandom world, what would it be? 

Hmm. Not anything in particular.

16.What fandom have you found to be too toxic to deal with?   

Ah. The best question. Well, I haven’t been in inuyasha fandom but I know it’s pretty weird because for some bullshit reason kagome is shipped with sesshoumaru and inuyasha is portrayed as a person who violates her. Yikes.

Now, I have got nothing against shipping characters who aren’t together. I do that a lot but when the same people come onto inuyasha/kagome and sesshoumaru/kikyo fanarts and spout shit, well I get angry then. Because I adore sesshoumaru and kikyo. It doesn’t happen but I still like it and it has the most gorgeous fanarts ever.

If sesskag and rinsess, which is weird no matter how it’s cut, shippers come and say this would’ve been better if it was sesshkag  fanart / fiction, well I get angry then. Sesshoumaru is my favourite character ever and I really don’t like seeing people think he only belongs with sesskag shippers. What the hell?

He is no one’s property. The only character he remotely showed something for was Kagura. And I am not gonna open Sesshoumaru and Rin thing. That is....well. Let’s just leave it.

Clamp fandom. I dunno…I am not particularly in it but I read some comments on some sites and it’s pretty annoying when some people say you must acknowledge kotori and kamui thing.

Kotori was obsessed with kamui. Did she deserve to die. Hell no. But kotori and kamui just doesn’t exist. I mean the creators themselves said : don’t call kamui and fuuma brothers. No. They are soulmates. Fuuma is all what kamui thinks about. Even in colour illustrations which shows the group, Kotori is always seen glomping kamui like some weird obsessed fangirl. It’s disconcerting. Kamui is always shocked or surprised. Well, whatever kamui and fuuma belong together.

And now the most toxic fandom. Vampire knight. I stopped posting in the tags quite a while back because I am just tired.  I’ve had enough.

Zeki shippers : unable to accept yuuki loved kaname way more than she loved zero. It’s blatantly obvious if you read the manga. But the shippers are not only rude but they also get personal and insult the blogger. They mock the other shippers and keep on ranting and raving about abuse and whatever nonsense that was prevalent in the forums between  2010-2014. Now the same thing happens here on tumblr.

Zeki shippers are unable to accept that not everyone worships zero’s character. Honestly, I never hated zero. I was always like, I want kaname and yuuki together, zero can be with someone else. But his fans and shippers are just nasty. I’ve never encountered a single decent member of this ship. They are rude and insulting and love to send anon messages.

18.Do you have or would you consider getting a tattoo depicting your favorite ship or fandom? 

Nope. Not fond of tattoos.

19.What is the strangest thing you’ve done to honor your favorite fandom, ship or character?
